Avani wasn't entirely sure how to respond to such kindness, even though the Earth Kingdom had given it to her in abundance, so she settled with, "Thank you, sir. I shall do my best to serve the both of you as well." She looked up at the nearby clock on the wall. "Erm, I am not entirely sure of this, but I think you two are late for lunch. Please, unless you would like to be escorted to the cafeteria, feel free to go on without me. I plan to straighten up my room a bit, but I will go to the cafeteria myself afterward."

Avani waited at Raythar's doorway for a response from the both of them. If one approved and the other did not, it wouldn't do to only follow one order. Favoritism was the last thing Avani wanted to express.

Jared looked at a nearby clock, nodding at her statement. "It would seem you are correct, Avani." he said with a smile. He looked over at Raythar, "Well, my prince, I believe I will leave you to what you were doing beforehand. I myself will be heading to my room to unpack, as I had really just gotten here, then I shall head to lunch. I will save you both a seat if you do not make it before me." he said with a bow, turning and leaving for his room.

Charlie was waiting outside the dorm room of her sister and politely knocked twice and calling out "Chey? You there?" Her stomach moaned a bit and she looked around for a clock. 'We should probably go to lunch soon' she thought silently as she stood there. "Cheyyyyy" she said again hoping her shy sister was okay. "You're still alive right?" She joked with a small laugh

Jared had just made it to his floor when he noticed another girl knocking on the door next to his. So the floors were co-ed then? She was apparently waiting for someone she called 'Chey' and was adamant about her coming out. He couldnt help but chuckle, "I wouldnt be surprised if she had fallen asleep m'lady, most everyone I had seen seemed pretty tired. I myself had considered a nap, but I am too hungry to fall asleep. Of course where are my manners, I am Sir Jared, Paladin in training for the Earth Kingdom. To whom do I have the honor of meeting?" he said to her, bowing slightly. It didnt matter if it was royalty or servant, any woman he first meets will always be treated with the respect deserved, as his father had taught him many years ago.

Charlie was startled suddenly when a stranger appeared behind her. Her body turned to see him and she let out a breath of relief. "Oh hello, I'm Princess Charlotte of the water Kingdom. I certainly hope she hasn't fallen asleep" she said looking back to the door with a frown. "It's a pleasure to meet you" she told the knight with a curtsy.

Princess of the water kingdom huh? Jared bowed a little more deeply upon learning she was royalty, giving her a warm smile as he stood back up. "I will be honest, I had never met anyone of the water kingdom, so it really is an honor to meet someone of the royal family. My first cousin is the prince of the earth kingdom, I am certain you will get to meet once the classes start."

He opened the door to his room, still no roommate. Eh, setting up his side of the room could wait, he didnt have much more than spare clothes and his armor, aside from a few knick knacks from home. He closed and locked the door, pocketing the key he had and turning back to Charollette, "If you are about to go to lunch, I can wait a bit and escort you there. I see no reason not to make friends with the others here, and it would be a good time to get to know someone of a different kingdom."

"Oh, well may I be the first to tell you all about my kingdom and its glory" she joked, her eyes twinkled and as she spoke. "I'm just kidding, my kingdom is very lovely, we have gorgeous coast lines and beautiful plants, all thanks to your kingdom of course." She smiled and added "I was just waiting for my sister, we're twins you see.. It's kinda odd not having her with me.." Charlie admitted. "Well I suppose Ill check up on her soon." She said with one last look at the door. "Now uh.. Do you know where lunch is held?" She asked with a sheepish grin. "I've never really met anyone besides royalty from the earth kingdom! What's it like?" She asked him.

Jaklyn walked into the Cafeteria and looked around before lowering her head with a large sigh "People... Where are people.. I miss people.." She said before shuffling over to see what they were serving for lunch for all the royalty in the school. She saw a large steak and before it even had a chance to sit for a second she snagged it and put it on a plate before going for to the salad bar. She put together a monstrosity of a salad before topping it with Caesar dressing. She turned on her heel and sat down at the large round table in the middle of the Cafeteria.

Jared smiled as she spoke of her kingdom. It sounded as beautiful as she explained it. When she had mentioned her twin sister, he was slightly curious as to how this would pan out for the next in line, but he did not dwell on this matter. "To tell you the truth, I have no idea myself, but I guess a little exploring to find it wouldnt hurt."

After a little thought, he answered her question. "Well, the earth kingdom is based within a large mountain region. All of the homes, even the castle, were all shaped and formed by those who can control the element. There is a legend saying that the first king created the original castle and the homes all on his own in a matter of minutes, of course that is just legend. The mountains make for a beautiful site, and they shelter us from the majority of the bad weather. You said you have met other royalty of my kingdom, who have you met might I ask?" he said to her with a kind smile.

Charlie nodded. "I think I made a trip to your kingdom many years ago, I must've been only 5 or 6 at the time. But my parents taught me young that the next heir must always know her surroundings, and that of course included kingdoms. I've met the king and queen a few times. I've even met the next heir once or twice. Though I can't remember his name. You must excuse my poor memory. It's very un-queen like." She gave another sheepish grin. "But yes only a few royals. Our two kingdoms get along quite well. We have a deal that my people send the water to your earth to help it grow and in exchange your kingdom provides us with flowering plants and a strong earth." She said with a smile as the two wandered the halls. "Can you control earth? Your element? I was blessed with the ability to control liquid water, my twin Cheyenne can control solid water. Oh by the way, please call me Charlie or Lottie." She added with a smile.

Jared nodded understandingly, remembering what he was told about Raythar having much to learn to become the next king. He chuckled as she said she could not remember the Heirs name, "Its quite alright, my cousin does not worry too much on those matters, considering it was some time ago. His name is Raythar. It is funny, I feel I would have remembered seeing you, unless of course I was off on training with my father. And to answer your question, yes. I inherited the gift from my father, to taught me to fight with it. I have learned much from him in the sense of controlling earth. To be honest, I feel my time here will be mostly spent on the training grounds, as I promised I would train on my own while I am here so as to stay in practice." he said in reply to Charlie. When she said to address her in a different manner, he chuckled a little and said "Very well, if you wish... Charlie."

As they walked, they came across an overhang that led to another hallway, and Jared noticed a few loose stones on the ground. Holding out his hand, the stones rose to his palm and orbited it slowly. Jared smiled as he did, letting Charlie see the floating rocks. He then closed his hands and the stones began to compress into one another, eventually fusing into one rock, which then formed into the symbol for the water kingdom. "A gift to you, as a reminder of the peace between the kingdoms." he said kindly, handing her the newly created stone pendant.

Charlie accepted the gift and smiled "oh it's beautiful! Thank you so much." She in turn began to blink a few times and a few tears dripped down her cheeks. She gathered them in vial and concentrated enough to form more water from the couple tears. The water swirled and formed a waterfall inside of the vial. She gave it to Jared and smiled. "As a sign of peace, the water will continue to flow into a waterfall.. If you ever need something to grow faster just one drop will do it." She smiled. There was so much she had learned to do with water, including how to cry to make water and multiply it. She smiled and looked around. "This school is beautiful." She commented before looking at him. "So a knight in training huh? That's really neat! I wished more than anything to be a knight when I was little. I know how to sword fight pretty well actually" she said with a saucy wink to Jared. "I'm not your typical princess."

Jared was happy that she had accepted the gift, but quickly became confused when she started to cry, let alone place it into a vial. He watched her as she created more water, creating a neverending waterfall with it. His eyes widened with amazement as he watched this, and happily accepted the gift when she handed it to him.

She mentioned the beauty of the school and he nodded in agreement, "To be honest, I didnt really believe this existed for a while, but now that im here, im excited to see what lies in store for us!" he said, crossing his arms over his chestplate. He looked back at her when she mentioned she mentioned once wanting to be a knight, and that she was capable of sword fighting. "Impressive, I'd love to see what skills you have some time. I myself, while I have used swords plenty times" he said as he pulled out his battle hammer, "I prefer a more... blunt weapon. But for the sake of safety, I will probably just spar with the training swords. You wanted to be a knight before? It's funny, my father is the king's brother, and thats exactly what he did, deciding he could serve the kingdom better on the battlefield rather than on the throne. His name is Sir Gregory Darius, have you heard that name on your visits?"

Raythar walked out of his room and headed for the cafeteria. He ordered a chicken wrap and headed for the tables, seeing Jaklyn sitting alone. He decided to let her have some company. "Mind if I sit here, or are you waiting for someone?"

Jaklyn looked over at Raythar "Oh, No... You would be the second person I met while being here.. I am Jaklyn Yamato... You can call me Jackie if you want.. I am from the Fire Kingdom.. I am the 2nd in line if my brother dies... So.... I am a princess.. Who are you?" She asked as she began to neatly cut the peices of the steak up. She noticed it wasn't cut to her likeing and grumbled before putting two fingers on the top. The steak began to smolder slightly before noticably become more well done then it was mere momments before.

Avani walked to her room, her heart lighter at the thought of both Raythar and Jared doing all right. She hadn't entirely been telling the truth when she said she was planning to straighten her room, but it wouldn't take too long to prepare her sleepwear for later in the day. To her surprise, there was a note on the door:

To the current resident,
Rosalyn Matsumoto will be residing with you. Thank you for understanding.
–Ashton Academy

A roommate? The idea made her slightly nervous, but she would do her best to welcome Rosalyn when she came by nonetheless. She decided to wait for her roommate; they could introduce themselves and walk to lunch together. Avani stood by the door, pretending to reread the notice so it wouldn't seem like she was just sitting there and waiting.

She nodded excitedly. "When I was younger my friend taught me how to sword fight, I always loved sparring, escpically with the older knights. I learned a lot on how to protect myself!" She said with a smile that noticeably faded as she continued. "Unfornately.. my parents saw it less as self defense and more as a boyish distraction. Most people referred to me as just Charlie rather than Princess Charlotte. I wore my hair in braids and wore pants instead of dresses. That didn't sit eel with my parents and any sparing I did after that was in secret." She said as she pushed her brown curls behind her ear. "I'll admit I'm pretty rusty, But away from my parents I'm free to pick it back up. And ride horses again." She said with a bright smile. She was definitely not a normal princess.

"Hmm that name sounds farmilar.. Wait! I think I remember that name! It was a knight I met in the earth kingdoms royal court! You're his son? Wow.. Not bad." She said with a laugh as she took in his muscles and face. " I'm not good with names but I never forget a face." She said.

This was no typical princess, but to be honest Jared did not mind in the least bit. Her attitude was something that he admired, and it made her all the more likable. If other princesses had her kind of attitude rather than worrying about keeping the proper ways of ladyship. But that was his opinion. "Well if you ever want a sparring lesson, come find me! Im right next door to your sister after all. And I never really got to ride horses for fun, mostly for training. Though I always figured riding would be fun to do for leisure."

He smiled when she said she had met his father, and looked sheepish as she complimented him on being related. "He taught me everything that I know. And to be honest, I respect someone who remember a face more than a name. It means you really take the time to really see them."

Eventually, they made it to the cafeteria and began to browse the food. He noticed that Raythar was speaking with another young girl, and figured it would be rude to interrupt him. Jared ended up taking a leg of turkey and a side of potatoes, as well as a side of green beans. He took a cup of water and set it at a nearby table before looking back at Charlie. "If you would like, I would be happy to accompany you during the meal."

Charlotte felt her face flush pink with his compliment. "I'd absolutely love a refresher. Prehaps you'd be willing to teach me? Ine xchange I'll take you out riding for fun." She bargained as the made their way towards the large dining hall. Charlotte looked around astonished and asked. "what is this place.." She had never waited in a line before, or ordered her own food, or even had to worry about where to sit. Her curiosity got the best of her as she stood in line and inhaled deeply, the fresh scents lingered all around her and smelled absolutely incredible. "Wow" she breathed out.

After picking out her lunch, a croissant filled with fresh ham and swiss cheese accompanied by a bowl of tomato soup and a cup of tea she nodded. "I'd love the company if you don't have somewhere else to be." She said. She noticed a large amount of her servants floating around and one in particular who had been following her since she and Jared had begun to talk. "Just ignore them.." She whispered to herself. Maxwell did say to let them keep watch on her at all times.

Sitting down at the table she fluffed the skirt of her long dress and placed her napkin in her lap. Using her knife to cut the sandwich she looked up at Jared. "So, got a girlfriend?" She asked bluntly as she placed the food in her mouth. Her eyes went a bit wide as he reality of her words sank in and as she swallowed she rushed to fix her mistake. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that, I'm a bit blunt sometimes I talk before I think you know?" She stuttered out awkwardly. "Eheh.. I've got a long ways before I rule a kingdom that's for sure.."

Jared nodded as she accepted his company, "No place to go for now, I am happy to keep you company." He said happily. It was then that he noticed the servants all around them, trying to be incognito, but they stuck out like sore thumbs. Especially that one that was closest, that kept glaring at Jared. Jared gave the servant a stern look that caused him to quickly look away, pretending to be occupied.

He wore his smile once more as he listened to Charlie, happy with the deal to ride with her. "Sounds like a good trade to me" he replied happily, using his utensils to tear off smaller chunks of his turkey and eating. He almost choked on his bite as she asked so bluntly if he was in a relationship, but a swig of water fixed that. She flustered a bit about how she sounded and he couldnt help but laugh. "Its fine, really, glad to see you are to the point" he said humorously. "To answer your question, I am not. I am usually training myself too much to have time at the kingdom to date. But to be honest I dont think anyone there is interested in me."

In honesty, when it came to the opposite sex, Jared had never really gotten to spend time with them enough to really know. he always figured a wife would just come around once he became a knight. Though he had to admit, spending time with the princess was a refreshing change for him.
