[FONT=&quot]Biography: [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Elizabeth grew up in the life of nobility. Her father was a wealthy lord, highly regarded in the court of the King, and therefore owned the second most amount of land to the king. Elizabeth was the youngest of three children. Her oldest sister was married off to a Duke, while her brother married a young lady from a village over. Elizabeth, is still in the market for a "suitor". However; her wild spirit and unworldly ways have driven away every man her father had chosen for her. Becoming rather annoyed by this, he had given up on trying to find someone for her. With Elizabeth, thankful for this, finds better things to with her time. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Just recently she had learned of a plot of trying to over the tyrant of a king. Not quite understanding the whole story, having not been a member of a family that had been treated "unfairly" by king, she never understood. It would only be a matter of time, however, before she would become a part of everything going on. One day, as her and her father rode through their small village a group of rebels came and attacked them. They had given her father permission to leave seeing as they took Elizabeth captive. Their motive? Have her father beg the king in hopes he would end his hateful crimes against them and allow Elizabeth to be free, or else…..[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Now, nearly two months later, still no news from her father or the king. Elizabeth was being kept in a camp outside the village hidden within the depths of the woods and the news does not look to be getting any brighter. [/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]The sounds of the trees bristled through the light wind as the sun peaked its way through the canopy of leaves. The smell of cooking meat and burning iron filled the air. The villagers were going through their day to day events of making weapons, cooking, and training. As if it would really make a difference. The men were going to be slaughtered by the King's army either way. Elizabeth had watched the days go by and each day was just like the next. Nothing new ever really happening and nothing interesting ever really seemed to play out. The only thing these rebels have ever done was kidnap her, and where did that get them? Nowhere. The king hasn't loosened up any and they haven't done anything else. She sat in the back part of the small makeshift prison cell. Her back was against the solid wall as she looked out. Her body shook a little bit a cold breeze came through her thin dress. She really did hate it here. All she wanted to do was go home. Her eyes glance around a several people walking by laughing and holding onto on each other. [/FONT]

Biography: Salvati grew up in a humble village and he didn't mind. The oldest of three he took care of his brother and sister while his mother and father worked. His mother was a baker well known for her pastries towns over. His father used to be in the army for the king and often reminded his family of what was robbed from them. Apparently his father was a great general and had given everything in service to the king.

One day the king ordered him and his men on a suicide mission and Salvati's father refused. The king taking it as an act of treason ordered the death of Salvati's father. He managed to flee and escaped with his family to one of the lesser known villages. They changed their names, title and way of life. Salvati learned the ways of combat from his dad who kept speaking of revenge and a revolution. He even went so far as to visit every town possible searching for recruits. Salvati may not have cared much for the king if his father didn't instill in him his hate.

Then the unjust and cruel laws from the king came. All the neighboring towns felt the oppression and taxation. More people joined his father's cause, and now Salvati openly hated the king, and all he did. His father encouraged this and fed it like wood to an already burning flame. Time passed and they trained with each other honing their skills, waiting for a moment to strike. That moment came when the kings second in command came through his town. His father planned to kill both the king's right hand man and his daughter. That was going to be a message before the assault on the king. Salvati however didn't believe such measures were necessary. He requested to not kill either but to take the woman hostage. His father agreed giving a windowed time frame, for a response. Now time is running out for the captive and Slavati has found himself in a battle between his devotion to his father and what he knows is morally right.<o:p></o:p>

Salvati awoke early that day hoping to be able to get a bite or two before people kept hounding on him. Since his father had gone out on a secret mission he was in charge of the "Crimson Judges"(a name given by their desire for fairness and would give all even blood for equality).

Whenever any decision needed to be made Salvati had final say, and it happened more often than he liked. Their hideout actually was a town in which all people living there were part of the Crimson Judges. Whenever anyone visited Salvati had already decided how to receive them before they stepped a foot inside.

After dressing for the day he walked to the fire pit for whatever Thane had cooked that day. Already people were awake and working, all in various ways but toward the same goal. He had to give it to his father, he might be rough around the edges but he had motivated these people to keep living. Reaching Thane he was cut a piece of meat and given a loaf of bread. Salvati was a simple man and this was all he needed, and maybe one of his mothers pastries every once in a while. His thoughts turned to his mother and how since the Crimson Judges officially began he hadn't seen her.

He knew that his dad's decision was right to have her as far away as possible but he still missed her. He also knew that she probably wouldn't approve too much of kidnapping either he told himself. This reminded him of the hostage acquired, and how she should not still be here. Maybe her father wasn't able to persuade the king he thought. Even if that was the case he hadn't contacted them for another form of trade.

He was in a hurry because although Salvati was a kind man, his father was not. "When I get back, if she is still here I'll personally kill her!" the words echoed in his head. He needed more information and only one person could give it. Walking back to Thane he picked up a plate of food and a mug of water. Walking over to the cell with her meal Salvati laughed that he hadn't come before her in order to hide his identity. Now however he needed answers, and this seemed like the only way. Knocking before entering he announced himself, " Lady Smithton, I bring some food and request an audience with you... That is if you will allow it."

Her brown eyes watched as the morning sun started to rise above the rest of the trees giving in more light than before. The sound of men laughing and coming around caused for her sights to be set forward as a pair of feet came towards the cell door. The young woman looked up and at the shadow coming into the small cell. It was the first time she had heard this voice and it caused for her to stand up all of a sudden. She tried to peer around and see the man's face, but her efforts were worthless.

"Do I have much of a choice?" She snapped. Throughout her time here, she had come to learn that these people hated her. Well, she didn't know if it was her or her father, or the king. All she knew was that she was sitting in the cell and paying for some unknown crime while her father danced about the castle leaving her to rot most likely. His head was saved so why the hell should he come back for his daughter?

Her dirty hands started to clean themselves as her stomach growled loudly. It had been forever since she had something decent to eat. Most of the time all she was given was just enough to make sure she had something to eat and then that was it. Her hands went to stomach as if to silence as her body arching in some. She hadn't realized that she was this hungry. Maybe it was the smell of the cooked meat.

Her quick reply and aggressiveness startled him, such fierceness from a lady? Although he wasn't expecting a warm welcome he wasn't prepared for that response. "Forgive me m'lady for your treatment thus far but your family's affiliations have led you down this road" his father's words flowed through him as he had been prepared for enemies like her. He had been taught that all of them were the same, just living off of the peoples suffering and struggle. He couldn't understand how they could sleep at night.

Looking at her however a bad feeling in his stomach was felt and his mother's image faded into his head. For some reason he couldn't hate her like all the other tyrants and decided to change tactics to a more diplomatic one. "Now you may not have many choices but you can choose to make this as easy as possible." As he said this he pulled a chair up to the cell bars. "My father is due to return soon and has vowed to kill you if you are still found here. I don't believe this is necessary and would not want your life on my conscience; however our many attempts to reach your father have brought nothing to fruit." As he said this he looked at her for any expressions, but didn't find much either, maybe she didn't care? "Now I come to you for your thoughts as this would benefit you I don't see why you wouldn't mind helping me understand." He allowed the words to sink then stated, "but for now I will leave you to your thoughts and your meal, I'll return and hopefully we can have a proper conversation."

He then slid the plate through a rectangular opening onto a table and left the mug. As he left, he hoped that his words were actually heard. He did want his people to be treated equally, and although his father also did he had too much hate... Shaking his head as some Crimson Judges approached Salvati told himself, "Mother I hope that this was the correct decision."

She listened to everything he was saying and bit her lip. She knew he had a point. If his father really was due back any day now, what would be the point? She looked back at him as he pulled a chair up and looked in at her from the inside of the cell bars. Her face unchanged by what he was saying. She went to say something as her stood up to leave. She bit her tongue and hastily started into the cooked meat and drink she managed to get in through the bars of the cell. The young seemed to care, a little bit. She had to admit she hadn't been treated half as badly. His words kept echoing through her head. Was her family's actions really her fault? She did not take part in them. A woman could not help were she was from. She had to live with the ups and downs of that society, considering she would be in for the rest of her life.

Her eyes watched as more men came up to the young man. Her eyes watching them slowly as she could not ear anything that was being said, but could see their mouths moving in a hastened movement. She finished her food and pushed her plate out of the cell and placed it onto the chair, but it managed to fall and hit the ground with a loud hit. She backed away from the cell and started drinking from her mug. The drink was warm and unfamiliar but it was something. Her legs carried her around as she walked around the cell as if she was a bored animal within their pen. Her mind rushed through the possibilities of what the young could have wanted to talk about. She was probably going to be dead soon anyway, so why talk? She finished her drink and soon forced it through the cell bars as well, it too hitting the chair and falling off. She really was a clumsily person. Her eyes went back to the men. Several of them looking at her now.

"What?" She asked, harsher then she meant for it. Elizabeth soon bit her lip again and looked down at the ground "I'm sorry gentlemen, but I'm going crazy being locked up like an animal." Her eyes went back up and looked at the men, and then at the one that had spoken to her.

Salvati gave the men around him some instructions and then discussed some new tactics for scouting. One of his trusted friends Nathaniel came to him and talked to him about new members joining the Crimson Judges. As they talked Salvati found himself thinking of Lady Smithton. Although he didn't know much about her (not even her first name) he respected her courage in such a situation.

Only half listening to Nathaniel he wondered how she must feel. The Crimson Judges fought for a new way of life, without any restrictions or unnecessary laws. How was her life before? Maybe it was really good, and she didn't want it to end. Maybe it was all she knew as his was all he had known. Regardless her way of life was destroying his directly or not. Nathaniel then brought up the "prisoner" and Salvati's attention focused completely on him.

"See even now she tries to listen in for information to later give to our enemies" Nathaniel hissed with obvious anger. Salvati had heard that tone many times before, but for the first time it bothered him. Nathaniel's words caused most of the men to turn to Lady Smithton's direction and Salvati soon followed suit. Salvati and the fair maiden locked eyes for a brief moment before the gaze of everyone else caused her to avert her eyes. Nathaniel continued speaking ill of their enemies then Salvati had suddenly had enough.

"She is managing as best she can; she's captured and put there for all of us to look down on." He said aloud without thinking. Nathaniel was confused at hearing such words from Salvati and questioned, "Salvati. You do understand that she is our enemy right?" Salvati answered, "Yes her views do seem to counter ours, but that wasn't her choice, just how she grew up." Nathaniel laughed then tried to reassure himself, "Oh Salvati you jest don't you? She is our sworn enemy she maybe grew up enjoying order but now that she could join our cause she hasn't THAT makes her our enemy."

Salvati looked at Lady Smithton once more as Nathaniel said this and disagreed, "I don't believe that is the face of oppression and cruelty." Nathaniel taken aback by his friends way of speaking tried once more, "Salvati she isn't like us, she wouldn't help our cause, the Crimson Judges believe in freedom and equality. She will never ...." Salvati interrupted quickly, "Exactly the Crimson Judges do believe in freedom and equality, then we must not be hypocrites and give both willingly!" Nathaniel had had enough and said, "It seems your mind has been altered by interacting with her, I will return when I have the means of redirecting you!" he stormed off mounted his horse and galloped away.

Salvati brushed him off and quickly resolved his internal struggle. Calling one of the maids from the local "Inn" he ordered for Lady Smithton to be taken in cleaned and given anything she required. He then explained to the men that the "prisoner" was now to be treated fairly. Many were angered, and his retort of equality and freedom for all shut them up.

"I will see her at night after she has had time to adjust, I hope this works out, I'm risking a lot by doing this" he spoke aloud to no one...

[FONT=&quot]She listened as the different people in charge started to talk about her. She couldn't believe this. It was like she wasn't even here half of the time. She listened to the two men talk, the one that had given her food, Salvati, and the other was still unknown to her. Her eyes looked with Salvati's as she spoke about her, kinder than the others were. How could these people speak like this? She was brought here against her will. She didn't know half of anything going on, so why should she even be punished. Maybe one of them did have the brains.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Her head and eyes looked back out of the bars as the sound of the keys came. She thought about running, for just a moment, but then thought against it. She had no idea where she was and running might only get her lost more. The older woman came into the cell and offered her a kind hand. "Come m'lady, you do need washed," the woman spoke her voice slightly harsh. Elizabeth looked at the woman and followed her out of the cell. As they passed the young man, who seemed to be in charge, Elizabeth mouthed a soft thank you.

[FONT=&quot]Elizabeth watched the people as she was marched past them. She almost felt like she was on the march to be executed. The eyes darted her as she went into the "Inn". It was actually just a slightly larger building than the rest. "This way," The old woman order, pushing Elizabeth towards the back of the room.

[FONT=&quot]"I'll go and fetch some water and clean you up, why don't you start slipping out of that dirty old dress. I'm sure we can find something for you to wear," The woman suggested and walked out of the room and left Elizabeth alone.

[FONT=&quot]Before too long Elizabeth was enjoying a nice warm bath that was long overdue. Her body had been washed and almost polished as the old woman laid out some clothing for her.

[FONT=&quot]"These belonged to my son, when he was bout your age. I really hope they do the trick, tis is all we have," She spoke looking at Elizabeth as she stepped out of the tub.

[FONT=&quot]"Um, they shall do fine," Elizabeth spoke, her stomach growling gain.

[FONT=&quot]"Why don't you get dress m'lady," The old woman laughed, "I will prepare something for you to eat. It is a shame they never fed you probably. A young lady just as yourself needs proper food." Elizabeth smiled some as she started getting dressed on her own and the old woman walked out of the room. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Elizabeth was soon dressed in brown tights, a green shirt like material and small (as her mother would call them) present boots. It was actually rather comfortable. She left her hair down and ran her fingers through the thick brunette locks. She had to admit she wished it could be brushed. She stepped out into the main part of the Inn and felt eyes on her again.

[FONT=&quot]"Ah, m'lady! Why don't you come over to this table, and have a nice bowl of soup," The older woman spoke. Elizabeth took the seat and started to eat again.

Salvati got some rest around mid-day. He had the night watch so getting some sleep assured his efficiency. Once he woke up he found out the status of Lady Smithton and then got dressed. Sending a message to the inkeeper that he requested an audience with her he awaited her response. "Now we must talk" Salvati thought and when she returned she informed him that she was eating. He decided to do the same and once he finished would see her. Finishing his meal with a big gulp of water he rose. "Assure that Lady Smithton can receive me then I shall enter." The innkeeper returned and confirmed that she awaited him, and Salvati went up to her room. Entering her room he laid eyes on her. The contrast in who he had seen earlier was very great and he soon found himself staring at her longer than he should. "I trust that you are more comfortable now?" He wanted to see how she was feelings toward everything that had happened to her recently.

As the evening set in, Elizabeth took to her room. She had to admit wasn't as nice as back home, but it was better than sitting in that dark cell. Her stomach was now full and her body was able to relax at bit more. When the innkeeper, whose name she found to be Camilla, had asked if she would like an audience with the young man from earlier, she was half tempted to say no. However, something inside her had been nagging to know what he had exactly wanted to talk about. She looked over at him and nodded slowly. "Yes, I am," She said her voice still slightly cold. Of course, he couldn't expect too much from her. They had taken her prisoner and were making her pay for what her father did. She turned to face the young man and offered him a seat. "Why don't you take a seat? Standing can be so tiresome," She said gesturing towards a chair across from her. When he took the seat she looked back at him. Her stare was just a hint of coldness, more curiosity than anything. "Now, why is it you are so keen in talking to me?" After all he hadn't come and asked to speak or see her since he threw her into the cell.

Finally able to speak to her Salvati tried to stay hopeful for what was to come. Since he entered Salvati noticed her tone was different, more in control. "Thank you for the seat, and for receiving me although you are a prisoner Lady Smithton. I wish to talk to you because my father and I have vowed to kill the king and destroy his kingdom." Salvati spoke these last words with conviction. He continued, "My father actually wished to have you and your father killed when you were traveling as a message to the king. I convinced him otherwise. The plan was to allow your father to leave, and then we the Crimson Judges would bargain for your release." He didn't know how these words would affect her, but he spoke only the truth.

"This would be a way for us to weaken the king while not engaging a war, however contacting your father has proven more difficult than we thought. No one we have sent has proven successful in contacting him and I do not know why." Salvati allowed his words to wash over her and once he recollected his thoughts he spoke. "You know my father's vow and although I do not know exactly when he is to return I would not wish for your death. I ask for any information in regards to your father." Salvati finished these words with a puzzled look on his face as he himself wasn't sure how this situation would play out...

She gave him a slight smile and watched him as he continued. She listened to him as her death had only been postponed from the beginning. "Right, begging for my father to bargain with the king for his rebel daughter," She said. She bit her lip and crossed her arms over her chest. But it was still worrying her on how her mother did not push her father to get her home. Was she really no wanted that much as home? She listened to him explain how nobody had been able to contact her father. Her eyes looked down at the ground and then back at him. Her eyes looking back at him.

"I can honestly say, that you will never be able to touch him this time of the year," She explained, "As of now the court is in and all the king's men are at the castle." Her feet push herself up off the ground and started to walk around "Trust me, killing me will only lift a burden. You want something that can get to them. Taking some valuable. Like horses, and anything within the carriage you let get away. That is the object you should wish to get at him. Any letters or documents of the sort." She looked back at the young man and started to run her fingers through her hair a little bit. She really did not know what to say. Her mind was racing and could only think about what was going to happen to her before all these men showed up. His father mainly. She bit her lip again and looked back at him walking back to her chair and taking a seat where she was before. "That's all I have," She explained waiting for a response...

Salvati laughed at himself then verbalized what he thought was so funny, "So you're a rebellious daughter? And here I was sure you were a typical maiden, how wrong was I." He continued listening to what she knew about the king which wasn't much. The information about the king and his court of men at the castle proved very useful. Salvati knew that his father was soon planning an attack and knowing that they were all at the castle would surely help. This Intel made Salvati smile as possibilities flew into his mind, but then he looked up to Lady Smithton and a portrait of worry greeted him.

"Rebellious or not, I'm sure you still wonder why your family hasn't accomplished rescuing you. As far as them finding this place I doubt it, but I'm not sure why our messengers have failed. However, maybe your father is on a mission like mine, or your cruel king is preventing your family to search. I do not know what kind of man your father is, but if you have a mother that cares I'm sure that she hasn't given up yet." Salvati wasn't sure why he spoke those kind words to reassure her, but he knew a mother's love surpassed all, and hers was no different.

Salvati then returned to business, "You have provided me with some interesting data and we'll make sure to look into it, but now I must know what your loyalty to the king is? The king we the Crimson Judges know is very different from the king you know I'm sure of that. He has taxed us to death, and then kept us just alive to fight in unnecessary wars. He treats us worse than his horses, and even feeds us less. I am desirous to know who is the king you know?

Elizabeth looked at the Salvati again, and then at the floor. The statement of her mother made her heart drop. Was she pushing for her rescue? Was the king stopping them from looking? She hadn't know. She looked at the window and then back at him. The question of who was her king. What the hell kind of question was that? She hardly knew the man! Sure she had seen what he had done to the rebels, but it wasn't like she was trying to keep it going. She was born this way. All she had ever known was a king that gave her family lovely jewels and riches as long as a high society standing.

"Well, the man I know is someone who can be kind and then vicious at the drop of a coin," She explained. Her arms crossed tighter. "I had never really talked to him or known him, but he was always a scary and unkind person. I never really did want to know him." She uncrossed her arms and looked at him. Her hand went back through her hair as she bit her lip again. She didn't know what to say about the king. She had never really had a one on one conversation with him, and never really wanted too. She looked back at him, in the eyes. She was trying to hide everything running through her head, while trying to read him. He was different then the rest. He was not as mean to her the rest of the men had been. It was almost as if he wanted to get to know her, but had this whole taking over the king thing consuming him.

"The one thing I can tell you is that the king loves power. Well, you don't really need to know that. He will do anything to keep it. His army and the power of his court with him, this 'army' you have will not stand a chance. You're forgetting he had the money and power for a well trained army with reinforcements if needed." Her throat swallowed. She had remembered the stories her grandfather had told her about the rebellion that had happened when he was her own age. She looked at him, and took a seat again as she heard voices coming into the Inn.

Observing her he noticed her interesting appearance when she bit her lip and fidgeted with her hair, but he soon removed this from his mind. While Salvati listened to her it became obvious she hadn't interacted with the king much at all. How could she not know? She herself had said that she didn't enjoy speaking to the king; maybe she just lived her life avoiding him? He wasn't really sure if she was just trying to erase any form of blame from herself..."So because of your sheltered and privileged life you didn't bother to know about your government or your ruler since you were comfy cozy?" Salvati asked a little irritated wondering if he should take her word so easily.

Then Lady Smithton stated the king's lust for power. This wasn't anything new, but confirmed that he really only cared for strength. His father seeing this years before began planning training and gathering people. Yet her assumption that the Crimson Judges wouldn't succeed angered him, "We shall see who prevails in the end, that so called king's love for power is great. However these people have been oppressed far too long and now their screams for freedom will drown his yelps for supremacy." Now Miss Smithton, what shall we do about you?

Salvati was in an internal struggle trying to decide if he should let her free. Would she run away? Inform the king and her family? Could she be trusted? Maybe she had other information to give she didn't consider vital. Or maybe she just didn't want to give anything away? Why was he even considering this? Something about her stayed stuck in his mental processes and kept being brought back up. "I Salvati Luaris Constint wish to know what you desire!" He had commanded more than asked, but now he would see her intentions and maybe they could find common ground, or at least a field for them to benifit from each other.

She watched how her words angered him. She was almost thrown back by his harsh sudden words. How could he not believe her? Sure, she could have belonged to a wealthy and high ranking family, but she did not know anymore than he was being told. She stared at him blank for words. Her own anger starting to boil inside her. What would he want? Her to tell him what the king was thinking at ever waking hour? She didn't know. Her heart beat hard against her chest. Her eyes looked at him dead in his own. So he wanted to know what she desired....he really did not want to know the answer to that. She felt her arms tighten and her hands to small fists.

"I, Lady Elizabeth Marie Smithton, daughter of the Duke Smithton and Lady Smithton, do desire that people would stop judging her before they decide they know everything. I told you everything I know!" She snapped looking back at him, "I do not have anymore to tell. Even if I did I would not tell you!" She felt all the words she had wanted to say since she came her starting to come out. "I'm a simple woman who happens to come from a privileged family. A rather well privileged one if I do say so. I can not control that, but it does not mean I know every waking moment of what is participating within that realm. I am a woman and therefore only have one place and it is not involved in politics and the such!"

She let out a breath of air she had not know she was holding and looked at him relaxing her body the best she could. Her eyes stared back at his, not really knowing what to expect from him. Her heart was beating faster then it ever had. "Now if 'your father' still wishes for my death when he returns so be it. I can not control what men do. I never could. If you wish to let me go, so be it. If you want me thrown back into the cell, so. be. it!" Her body turning away from him and turning back all of a sudden. "If you want to know what I truly desire, Salvati Luaris Constint, then I suggest you start remembering that I am a human being and not some book that will give you answers. I only contain so much and that, like or not, will not have anything more than you already know and have been told." Her eyes darted up as she stared at the room with the quieting voices. She knew her yelling wasn't helping and if she walked out there a mob would be ready for her. She looked at him again and let out a sigh. "Now, is there anything else?"

Salvati was taken aback by her returned fierceness. His sudden burst of anger only seemed to spark a rage that completely engulfed his. Her words like an archer's arrow hit him in just the right spot. Guilt slowly crept into him and he saw things in different eyes. "Lady Elizabeth.... Forgive me, you are right. Your upbringing has nothing to do with who you are. You have just ended up here in the middle of a war and it isn't your fault. I should believe in your word and I do, it's just that you don't realize how badly these people and I desire equality..."

After a few moments Salvati then stood up and spoke, "Thank you for your audience Lady Smithton, I must quit you however for I need to collect my thoughts. Hopefully you will receive me next time and we may speak in a more positive manner." With a slight bow, Salvati exited, and as he walked his mind raced with thoughts. What had just happened back there? He asked himself completely confused, some men called to him in the distance inviting him to drink, but he just kept walking. Why did he take his anger out on her, and then how did she just completely overwhelm him? He was not used to it, and questioned how to handle the situation. He kept walking perplexed, in need of advice. Maybe his father would be able to help if he wasn't trying to kill her he laughed at that thought. Finding himself in a clear grassy field he layed down and just stared at the stars...

She nodded her head as he left. She still felt her anger running through her and his apology was not enough to calm her down. She felt her chest beat fast against her ribs as she let herself lay flat against her bed. She knew if she was to walk outside, it wouldn't be a good thing. She let out a heavy sigh and pulled herself up on the bed. Her body relaxing a bet against the soft fur that laid against the bed. It was nothing like. No, nothing. The sound of the people cheering and talking loudly made it next to impossible for her to sleep. She sat up and looked at the doorway. She stood up and started out of the doorway. The sight was almost unlike anything she had ever seen.

Several people were out in the lobby. She started in towards the bar to order something to drink. A couple of people were looking at her almost confused or in shock. Like she was an animal that wasn't suppose to be out. How long would this go on? She took a drink and started to take a seat. The chatter was getting louder as people became more and more drunk. Her lips were coated lightly in the drink called rum. Her brown eyes looked around the room again. She noticed a group of people coming in, one catching her eye as someone she had never seen before, or that she didn't remember seeing before. She downed the rest of the mug as the woman from before handing her a plate of food again.

"M'lady, you need to eat," the elderly woman spoke smiling softly.

"I haven't any way to pay for all of this," Elizabeth answered looking at the woman guilty.

"Don't you threat. It is no worry," The old woman said smiling softly.

Elizabeth smiled weakly and started to eat softly. Cutting the meat and starting to eat it as she had been taught. Her back tingled as she started to feel a set of eyes darting into her. She was almost too scared to turn around and see who it was.

What was Salvati thinking? Becoming allies with someone like her would be impossible. Even though she didn't support the king Salvati had interrogated and accused her like she did. Why was he even trying to befriend her? He knew what his father would do given the opportunity, so why couldn't he do the same? For whatever reason it wasn't in him, and that's why he desired another solution. Thus calling upon her to be received for a proper conversation. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
"So much for a proper conversation" Salvati shook his head; their conversation had started out just fine but quickly escalated. Salvati now regretted where their meeting had led to. He had acted very disrespectfully allowing his anger to take over. Salvati knew his mother would be disappointed, and he felt shamed. During their clash of words Salvati had said many things that were uncalled for. Salvati's only relief was that Lady Smithton hadn't stood there and just taken it.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
In fact she had fought back, using her own words to deliver a great rebuttal. Truly any other maiden wouldn't have reacted like that. Lady Smithton had an empowering personality, and it had manifested itself just now. "She said her name was Elizabeth" Salvati spoke aloud to no one, but it helped gather his thoughts. T'was a strong name no doubt fitting, and Salvati wondered what she was doing. Maybe it was time to return, Salvati knew that the villagers wouldn't do anything to her, but they would still be adjusting to the change. It was his responsibility to look after her until they warmed up to her.<o:p></o:p>

Walking back Salvati wasn't sure how to apologize properly, and decided to just be honest. He would be as sincere as possible and trust his honesty would convey his message, rather than his lack of words. He still wished her to see his point of view, and although he had probably destroyed all possibilities of that an idea came to his head. Entering the base Salvati noted nothing different and was pleased, then heading to the Inn he encouraged himself as he got closer. Scanning the Inn many people waved to him or called his name, and he saw Lady Smithton. Walking up to her he said, "Lady Smithton it is I Salvati."<o:p></o:p>
