Everything was sort of a haze after the shock. Someone entered the room boasting about something, while Ike also heard some big man also walk into the lounge. But what really woke him up was the blaring of some voice talking crates being dropped. Reaching for his staff that was nearby, Ike used it to steady himself and regain his balance. Smooth as your first action of a leader... He thought to himself looking at all of the faces. "Well, if you think I am useless...Let us see who can get the better crate." Ike said to himself. The leader finally learned how to stand again, and stopped leaning on his staff before looking down at his would-be attacker. She stayed on the ground almost motionless except for slight movement in the upper chest area. Before turning back to his teammates Ike gave her a light kick to see if she was still alive. This resulted in a slight shuffle but the steady breathing he presumed stayed. Ike finally looked back at his underlings and then started walking towards the doorway. He quietly walked passed the big hulking man with the double axe before then taking a long walk up the staircase to the highest point in the base, his own cabin.

The view from there was amazing. Nothing like you could ever see before. Lush trees as far as the eye can see, and birds flying away from their roosting spot...Wait. Birds leaving their nest? Ike watched two birds fly away together before looking back at what may have been their nest. The white team must already be moving to get those crates. The leader looked back down at the lounge area and quickly looked back at the map. He took his spear and marked the pink path with a X tearing the paper slightly before running down the steps.

Ike stopped at the entrance of the hut were most people he remembered were still there. He looked over his options for partners, no way he was going into unknown places without backup. Ike grabbed the shoulder of the girl with the pistols. "I want you and you," He pointed his spear towards Fah the other scout. Ike placed his spear down quickly before turning his head towards the girl he had his hand on and whispered, " I hope you know how to use those things. " The leader turned on his heels and dashed off towards the path that was labeled pink. Lastly he yelled back before fully leaving the camp " Come on now! We got shit to get! Put it in gear! "

Jessica 'Sugar'
White Territory

The announcement came in the middle of her meeting with the deputy Conn and strategist Fiona. Immediately all hell seemed to break loose as the rest of the white team members came flooding back down to the cabin's lounge and started questioning what they were going to do. Sugar sighed and yelled at the whole lot to shut up, tearing the No Man's Land map from the board and spreading it out on the table.

"Keep your heads on, all of you!" She barked. "I want you in two groups. Scouts to my left, warriors to my right." She commanded, wanting to see what her team was made up of. "And I want weapons presented. Show me what you've got." Sugar finished, scanning the team as they lined up in single file by instinct and held their weapons out. "I'm going to have two teams of three. Fiona is going to lead Team One, Conn's going to lead Team Two. I want Kelly here with me. Montgomery is going on team one, Merlet on team two." Sugar made quick work of teaming up the remaining warriors and sent them out on their way.
Christina 'Chris'
Black Territory
Somewhere, somehow, Chris could hear something echoing within her brain. A voice was saying that there would be a crates. Attempting to wake up from, the girl felt groggy. And all of her muscles seemed to be twitching erratically. That was annoying. The voice was still picking away at her. It was something along the lines of running and supplies now. Did somebody need to go grocery shopping? Opening her eyes, Chris saw the blurry shapes of a bunch of humans around her, then the hazy shape of a giant bear. That was funny. Why was a bear standing around? And why did it have a five foot long axe? The stunned Chris let the thought go. She began to close her eyes again, since sleep was just so tempting and beautiful, but then it happened.
"As an additional element, the killing restrictions on No Man's Land have been lifted for the event."

Immediately the girl was awake and waltzing with her scythe once more, Ike and her rage forgotten. "I can kill people now!" She sang, her muscles still not fully functioning from her electric shock but that wasn't stopping her. "Oooo, can we go now? Please? With a cherry on top? No, scratch that, make it a barrel full of cherries!" Chris nearly tripped, her body threatening to collapse but she was still on her feet despite it. She sounded like a kid wanting to go to a candy shop or something similar. Turning erratically to face Lauren, Chris shook the other girl by the shoulders. "Let's go! We'll be late, and Ike'll beat us to the crunch!" She said, noticing the leader pick out his small team and head out.

Turning towards the bear, Chris blinked once. "Oh. You're not a bear. Ah well, this'll be fun anyways! You can come to. Let's go, Lauren! Oh, why don't you come as well Google?" Chris called, walking out of the cabin without looking back and seeming to expect Lauren, Branden and the bear man - Nikolai - to follow her, as well as anybody else who wanted to tag along.

Astrid
Black Territory

Like a switch had suddenly been flipped, the room was in gear. Ike -- who, as Astrid read from the board, was the leader of the group -- left the room quietly for some unknown purpose. While he was gone, Astrid surveyed the room, trying to get an idea of the situation she was currently in, and who she was in it with. After reading through the list of names and positions on the board, she was able to match a few names to faces, and there was far more variety then she was anticipating. Her team members ranged all the way from a hulking 300lb muscle man to a tiny 14-year-old boy. Perhaps 15. And here Astrid was, afraid and confused, armed with a couple of guns she didn't know how to use.

At that moment, however, Astrid was jarred out of her panicked thoughts as Ike came dashing back down the stairs and into the common room. She looked to him as he paused, before he grabbed onto her shoulder and pointed out one of the other scouts. "Wait, hold on, I--" But before she could get anything out, he whispered to her "I hope you know how to use those things," and was pulling her out the door. "B-But I--! Wait!" Astrid stumbled after the team leader as she darted after him, struggling to keep up. What is he even thinking?!?

Still, Ike continued. They made it past the edge of the camp and seemed to be entering one of the marked pathways. "Ike!" Astrid called, trying to get him to slow down. By this point, they were well into the jungle, and after a few moments she couldn't even see the base behind them anymore. "Ike! For God's sake -- wait up!" Astrid suddenly came to a stop. Seeing as her endurance wasn't exactly the greatest, she just couldn't go any farther. She keeled over, her hands on her knees as her chest heaved, trying to catch its breath. "What... What about the... the rest of the team?" she managed between breaths. "Why did we leave them behind??"

Kieran Wells & Kyle Lane
Black Team

After hearing the announcement, Kieran lowered his eyebrows slightly. His leader had just been knocked out, and the deputy seemed to be rather standoff-ish and consumed in her own greatness. Just because they had been appointed in charge didn't mean he had to cooperate with them, did it? Looking at Kyle, making eye-contact with the younger man, an unspoken agreement passed between them. The leader, Ike, had upped and left without a word and Kyle and Kieran followed suit. After Kieran had briefly glanced at the map tacked on the wall with the team positions, he and Kyle made their way to the far end of the black side of the arena; entering No Man's Land wearily with their weapons at the ready. The white team was making rapid progress, something that was being updated periodically by the telepathic announcer's voice.

"The first crate has been claimed. The shrimp crate has been claimed by white team forces."

Then, not even a few seconds later, the second announcement.

"The second crate has been claimed. The superior crate has been claimed by the white team forces."

Hearing this, Kieran urged Kyle to increase his pace. Little did they know, but the white East Sector division team was already there. They had made quick work; dividing up the search teams and jogging military-style through the paths. On the black team's side, Kieran was acting as a basic rear guard and Kyle was scouting the front in search of crates. They, too, were making quick progress. Abruptly, just as Kyle turned a corner onto what was supposedly the frog path, Kieran heard a short scream before the boy's head could be seen fall to the ground. Blood was everywhere, and coming around the corner was a party of four white team members. Eyes widening in horror, Kieran turned to run - not stopping, or even hearing, as the same almost telepathic voice from before boomed through the minds of both teams.

"First blood goes to Alex Brown, white team warrior. Kyle Lane, black team warrior, has just been killed. The black team replacement is: Rhogar Yarjerit."

-|Alex|-
Alex looked up at the sky as a thundering message was sent across the clearing, causing Alex to grasp the hilt of her sword firmly before looking back at the people, who woke up sometime during the message. Ike was the first up, and no surprise, the guy had no plan. They where going to get themselves shot and killed sooner than they would win. Sighing, Alex placed a firm hand on the hilt of her sword, and started after Ike.

"Do you even have a plan!" Alex called after Ike as she darted down the stairs, reaching him at the bottom. "You know we could get ourselves killed if we aren't careful." She said to him, following him as he walked out.
@Crysodic

(Sorry it's short, I just felt like you all deserved a post at the least)

Rhogar found himself somewhere he had not expected, which in this case, was at a small base of sorts. He seemed somewhat confused, however on the same token, interested to say the least. Especially by the fact he had two, rather large, but familiar weapons in each hand. Looking them over for a brief moment, he smiled, "Hmm, an odd set of rules, but acceptable enough. " He muttered to himself, as he started to walk around the base. At this point, he was just busy looking for some sort of path, or something to do. "Hey, anyone here? Old Special forces looking to help out the best I can!" He yelled out in the base.

However Rhogar never waited for an answer, and soon enough was walking past several of that paths available to traverse. However as he walked, he found himself at what appeared to be the very second to last path available. With a sigh, he put both knives into their provided sheaths. With that, he looked at nearest tree, and set to climbing until he found a branch that could support his weight. From there, it was a game of finding the nearest tree he could jump to, and catch himself on. Shame he didn't get climbing picks, or this would have been even easier. However he was not one to complain, he was gifted an athletic build, years of knowledge, and two blades to slaughter.

Nikolai watched as people began rushing out after the big voices left. He saw the tiny redheaded girl walk towards him and call him a bear, he smirked at it. He knew he resembled one. He followed her out of the cabin with large lumbering steps and looked around, he saw a path with a sign that read crane path. He looked at it and remembered that this was a urgent thing. He looked down at the little scythe wielding girl, he bent his chest and put a hand out and let his large hand encompass her shoulder. He looked at her and was very calm about what he was about to say.

"You wait here" Nikolai said, with his axe hand he aimed its bladed end towards the crane path. "I go there, be safe."

He patted her shoulder with his sizable hand and turned around. He jogged towards the crane path and stepped on a few branches snapping them under his weight. As he came lumbering at great speed down the path he noticed the man and girls from earlier. They must be heading to the same place. He thudded down the path and rounded the first bend, he spotted an object about 60meters from him. He picked up speed and closed in on the object, as he got closer he could tell it was a crate. He smiled and let out a chuckle as he neared the crate.

"Crate!" Nikolai shouted as he passed the other members of his team. He walked over the the crate and threw it backwards, he wanted his teammates to get it. He lumbered still on down the path and held his axe at the ready as he saw white birds fly up into the sky ahead of him.

Crane Turtle Path

Before Ike seemed to be able to give a response, two more people came up the same path, one after the other -- first was Alex, and the second was Nikolai. Alex stopped and checked in with them, and she seemed to be equally concerned about how things were going. This comforted Astrid slightly, as she no longer felt like the only one that wasn't crazy enough to go scampering off into a jungle full of murderers without a plan. Maybe, with Alex as the deputy, there was hope that the Black Team could perhaps pull together enough to manage a fighting chance.

Just then, as if on cue, the voice from earlier returned with another announcement: Kyle Lane of the Black Team was dead. "Oh dear God," Astrid gasped, "s-someone just died." She paused, glancing up at their leader with terror in her eyes. "Someone from our team just died, and we haven't even been awake for an hour yet!"

At that moment, Astrid noticed Nikolai come lumbering down the path, as he made eye contact with them and went right on by. With that giant axe complementing his already enormous build, he was a truly frightening competitor -- Astrid sure was glad he was on their team. A few moments after Nikolai had disappeared around the bend, he suddenly shouted "crate" and sent a box sliding around the corner. Astrid instinctively flinched at the object coming towards them before she actually realized what it was.

"Wait -- really? It was that easy?" She looked up, expecting Nikolai to come back and join the group, but she didn't see him. Noticing a group of birds having been disturbed in the distance, Astrid wondered if that was Nikolai, continuing down the path in the search for more crates... Or at least, that's what she hoped it was. In one hand, she instinctively pulled her right-side handgun out of its holster, and looked down skeptically at the crate. "Should we open it?"

"We left them behind so we can go get crates!" Ike said to the breathless girl. He was not sure if it was obvious or not, but it was the best way to get the crates as the white team was already had two and most likely getting more. Ike looked back as a new voice had appeared, "Yea. I know we can get killed at any moment. That is why I took a group. And I scouted before hand." He pointed to the looming hut behind him. "I went to the top and looked over the map there. I could see a good area around our base while up there." Ike said keeping an ear out for any sounds that may allow him to know the place a predator was. He himself, almost looked relaxed while walking down the path with a blank expression on his face. Like he has done this before or is ready for events to happen.

Ike jumped has the behemoth of a man almost ran over him as he sped past Ike towards the now obvious crate. Too busy not trying to die to look at things. He collected his thoughts and stepped back as the crate slid to a halt at his feet. This would be the first of hopefully many crates the black team would get. Then the announcement of his team mates death reached his thoughts, Ike has been trying to keep it out of his mind and focus on the objective. "People...will die. We just have to deal with it." Ike whispered to himself, "Lets not have his death be in vain. Our team will have more crates in his honor." He said louder this time, for his small squad to hear him.

Ike stabbed his spear into a slot of the crate and pried it open. He looked into the crate itself and saw it was full of water tablets, canteens and some empty water barrels. Dropping his spear to the ground next to him and dropping to his knees, he smacked the side of the crate in frustration. Ike sat there in silence for a few moments before raising onto his feet again and picking up his spear. "What a shit crate..." He kicked the box lightly and turned to the scout that has been silent. "Fah. Take these supplies and head back to the base. Do not come back when you reach the base, only do if someone else is coming with you. Everyone else, lets go on." Ike turned and started heading down the path again in a slight frustration.

Jessica 'Sugar' & White Base Team
@ivoryknight22
Hearing something, or more likely somebody, start to walk down the hallway Sugar looked up from where she was sitting and going over the territory map. Almost instantaneously, the weird telepathic voice spoke up again.

"On account of quickly sustained injuries, it has been decided that each team will be supplied with a doctor. Doctors Walter Guo, for the white team, and Thaddeus J. Hatfield for the black team will be entering shortly."

Sugar raised an eyebrow. "So you're our doctor, hey? Well, it doesn't sound like we've got many casualties so far, so you may as well sit pretty with me." The leader said, patting a chair near her. While she had kept the scout Blake Kelly and Cassandra Nicole with her, however those two were hard at work dragging the team's crates back in after they had been retrieved by their crate teams. They seemed to be making quick progress, and Sugar was pleased: it didn't seem like the black team had much of their act together.

Fiona Declan & White Crate Team #1
@Bismarck
The first white crate team was well organized. Fiona was smart and was operating the group with military precision, calculating each move they made and ensured that the team was on high alert at all times. Fiona herself had taken the lead; her pistol raised in the air as she moved around each corner warily, expecting an enemy to jump out at her at any moment. She didn't know how to use the gun, but something about it felt comforting in her hands, and she trusted the weapon to do whatever she needed it to do. They had encountered two black team members - Alex having killed one presumably named Kyle, but the other one had run off and Fiona hadn't wanted to risk following him.

Behind the Irish woman, Alex Brown had taken the left side of the team's diamond formation. His new longsword was coated in blood already, as the black team boy Kyle Lane had practically walked into him while he had been in the front of the group. The man was more in the center of the formation than the left wing of it, however, as the boy Eric Almonte was absent after having run the supplies from their last crate back to the white team base. He was probably well on his way back, as the HQ team was meeting the messengers halfway down the line. Acting as rear guard was Jessica Montgomery: as alert as Fiona as the scout weilded her twin pistols. She was aiming at their rear, on the lookout for Eric to return, however was more than ready to spin about and attack anything that came from the front of the formation.

Conn Declan & White Crate Team #2
@Crysodic, @IceQueen, @Thurrbo
Digging through their newest crate, Conn removed everything he thought to be necessary to the team. He didn't want to keep everything, especially those one-use traps. Taking everything would only drag his courier down. Conn was operating in a method very similar to Fiona's on the other side of the arena; sending one person back with the supplies they obtained while the rest of the team advanced at a slower pace until the said person returned. At the moment, the french girl Alice Merlet was about to make the run back. Conn had wanted to send the grandpa Sander Days back, but he had realized that the aging man - despite the spring in his step - would take too long to return.

Sending Alice off on her way, the Irish man stood back up and kicked the rest of the crate's contents off the path. He wasn't about to waste time in burying them, but he didn't want the black team to just pick off of their remains easily either. Gesturing for his squad to follow, the group of three continued advancing towards the black territory: Andrea Thain and her shotgun taking the rear, grandpa Sander with his Ax in the front and Conn himself in the middle with his brass knuckles clutched firmly in his hands. He knew that they were getting close to the middle of the path now, and if any black team members were headed down this way there would be a conflict.

Christina 'Chris' Rhodes
@HellHoundWoof
Giggling slightly as the bear man placed his giant hand on her shoulder, Chris tilted her head slightly in curiosity. Did he mean to tell her that she wasn't capable of handling herself? As she hiccuped and electric current bolted through her briefly, making her hair stick up, the girl agreed silently that it might be so. She would not have made such a confession to perhaps Ike, but Chris had already taken a liking to the bear man so she didn't try to slice off his limbs. Waiting patiently and watching as he disappeared around a bend in the path, idly fiddling with her scythe, Chris perked up slightly when she heard him yell something. Crate? Oh, right, that's what they were out there for. To get crates.

Passively spectating as the crate came crashing down after the bear had thrown it, Chris was about to open it up when Ike appeared. It seemed that he was passing through towards another path. Scowling slightly and remembering her grudge against the leader, the redhead dismissed him when he settled down to open the package up. It seemed that the pistol girl [Astrid] and the deputy girl [Alex] were with him, as well as one of the scouts. Ignoring Ike as the leader told Fah to return the crate's contents to the camp, Chris trotted off after the bear man. He seemed to be a lot more fun. She had her scythe resting against her shoulder as she ran, and her light footsteps brought her towards her teammate quickly.

"I'm coming with you." Chris declared happily, not sounding like she was about to enter battle with possible enemies at all. Instead, it sounded like she was going on a picnic. "Do you think we can go faster? I have some chopping up to do!" The girl requested, starting to twirl around with her weapon again before grabbing the bear man's hand and attempting to drag him forward. Of course, she could do very little with his weight, but at least she was conveying her message. "I guess Google and Lauren aren't coming." Chris commented thoughtfully before shrugging it off - not taking into account the fact that Nikolai might not know who Branden and Lauren were - especially not when she addressed Branden as 'Google'.

Rhogar began his journey through the trees. Hopping from limb to limb, with a trained ease as he did. He had plans, that much was certain, and he would not fail in them either. That was what made him the most dangerous on the team. Aside from the bear of a man, he had passed by at some point. Of course, on the same token, Rhogar wasn't small either, he was rather big himself.

As the minutes went by, he found himself sitting up on a limb, looking down at a crate. He was well hidden, or at least he assumed so. So with a sigh, he drew out his knives, and decided he would bide his time, until someone came to pick up the crate. If they were from his team, they would live. If not, he would just slaughter them with his blades, and return to his tree.

Lauren Jennings

After the incident with Ike and Chris, it was perfectly clear how serious they were about them not killing their team members. As the two received their punishment for their actions a voice rang out. It seemed like it came from within her head, if that made sense. How are they doing that? Before she could dwell on the matter further, another person joined the group. Her eyes widened as she looked at the male. He had a big frame! The axe he had in his hand only added to his intimidating form. Suddenly another voice rang out from her head, informing her about crates that had been filled with supplies for them to use and that the killing restriction had been lifted. It was as if that was all Chris needed to hear because she started waltzing about again. Chris caught Lauren off guard when she suddenly gripped her shoulders and shook her. It wasn't long before they left the base.

Lauren remained glued to her spot, starring off where they had disappeared. The fact that there was the high possibility she could die out there was what was holding her back. She frankly didn't want to die. Not here and not this early in her life. Yet, she knew she couldn't just stay hiding in the base while others were out risking their lives. It wasn't fair nor right. So Lauren took in a shaky breath before rising for her seated position on the couch and exited the base. Chris was most likely heading towards No Man's Land and Lauren decided she would join the girl.

Taking off in a sprint through the crane path, Lauren clutched her weapon tighter. She didn't know what to expect out here, but she would surely be ready whether it be a person or something else. Hopefully she caught up to Chris soon, because she doubted that being alone on this would increase her chances of surviving.

Thaddeus awoke with a start. The last thing he remembered was walking home after a "House call". Now he is somewhere else, duh, he grumbled softly, "I need a fucking drink." he stood up and put on his glasses, glancing around he noticed his bag, as well as his bone saws, sharpened to a finely honed edge, he smiled in a sadistic fashion. "The game's afoot, and now we play." Smiling as he grabs his blades and his bag, "even here i am forced to help a bunch of twits. no matter, some people need help, and some need killing."

He walked out of the base, if anyone was there he paid them no mind. "They have crates, we don't. whatever they are they are important, we need them..." Glancing at the map on the outside of the base he noted where the best spots for crates would be. "If my team is smart they would go there first, maybe send someone to grab the crates on the other paths..." he sighed and checked his bag, everything he would need for helping his team and harming the others. "At least this is something that was thought out." With one Blade resting in his right hand and his back slung over his shoulder, (backpack style) he moved at a faster pace than his demeanor suggested he would be able to. Dashing down the closest path, Crane, Thaddeus was quite annoyed at the swamp, not something he was used to being in. He noticed voices and movement ahead, he slowed his pace, creeping up on whomever it was, he drew his second saw blade holding it in his left hand the back of the blade resting against his forearm. He knew that surprise was the best thing is these games, after all he did get paid to hunt the most dangerous game before awakening to this. He crept up and saw the people, unsure who they were he paused and waited for some hint of their loyalty.

Astrid
Turtle Path
(Crane Path Intersection #1)

Astrid was very pleasantly surprised when they opened the crate to see what was inside. Sure, it wasn't the supreme crate, but she definitely thought it was a great haul. This would provide them with what was essentially a constant supply of clean water! It was true they'd still have to find food, but obtaining some kind of nourishment wasn't going to be too terribly hard with the environment they were in and the weapons they had already available to them. On the other hand... Obtaining clean, drinkable water? Now that was an important issue, and this crate took care of that problem entirely. Astrid felt a wave of relief wash over her.

Which was why she was so surprised by Ike's comment. A "shit crate," he called it? Astrid frowned. Did he not realize how important it was to have a source of drinkable water? She almost spoke up and said something, but she thought better of it and held her tongue. Not like it mattered, anyway; they got the canteens, and that's all that was important.

Astrid turned to watch Fah go back down the path and return to base with the goods. It wasn't too far of a trip; so far, they were only at the first intersection of the Turtle Path with the Crane Path. She should be safe. So when Ike started heading further down the Turtle Path, Astrid was about to follow -- before she noticed something.

"Hey, wait a minute..." she muttered. As she was watching Fah leave with the crate, a small ray of light had reflected off her spear for a moment and caught a strange object in the brush. And if that was what Astrid hoped it was, then they had just walked by something very important. "Fah, wait up!" Astrid called after her teammate, not wanting her to have to make two trips. "Ike, I think I see another crate!" Hoping her leader had heard, she turned around and dashed back in the direction they came from.

Going straight for the object in the brush, Astrid grabbed it and pulled it out into the open path. Sure enough, it was another crate! Not even waiting to see if her teammates had followed (besides Fah, who was standing right nearby with the contents of the previous crate), Astrid cracked open the crate to see what was inside.

Kieran Wells - Black Team
[Near: Rhogar]
[Frog Path]
After he had seen Kyle's corpse fall to the ground, Kieran had been running blindly down the path back towards the team base. If he wasn't so scared of being found, he'd have been screaming. He hardly saw anything as he sprinted off; praying that the white team wasn't trying to follow him. His gun was clapping uselessly by his side, the weapon forgotten for the moment. Abruptly, he almost tripped and face-planted into the ground as he stumbled across a crate. He stared at it for a few seconds, having forgotten why he was in No Man's Land in the first place. Looking around to see if anybody was present, the man hesitated - glancing backwards to make sure that the white team wasn't on his tail - before picking up the box and starting to drag it along the path.

Conn Declan & White Crate Team #2
[Near: Astrid, Ike, Alex, Fah]
[Close By: Chris, Nikolai, Lauren, Thaddeus]
[Turtle Path]
Spotting something vaguely brown and wooden looking - or at least something that looked like worked wood, unlike the trees that surrounded them -, Conn called for his group to slow. "I think we've got ourselves another crate." He said softly, trying not to make too much noise. At this point in the path, it was very likely that they'd be encountering some enemies. It wasn't like the black team seemed to be doing much though, from what the Irish man had heard they'd only obtained one crate so far. And it hadn't been that great of one, though with the water crate it'd ensure at least that the team didn't die. Catching food would be difficult without traps, but water would have been more of a pain to obtain.

Not moments after spotting the crate, however, Conn caught a glimpse of something else. It looked like there was somebody there. Abruptly calling his squad to halt and retreat, making as little noise as possible, Conn hoped that they hadn't been spotted as well. "Alright, here's the plan. I want this last crate, after this we'll retreat. I want Sander to initiate a charge and draw any enemy attention as a decoy - Andrea will be covering him and shooting at anything that seems hostile, armed and overly dangerous. I'll be in charge of tearing the crate up and ransacking anything that will be useful to us. Alice'll cover me. After I'm done I'll call for a retreat and we'll make our way back to our base - Andrea will be rear guard for the retreat. Understand?" The Irish man said quickly, trying not to loose the element of surprise they had going.

Receiving a confirmation, he nodded. "Then let's go. Sander?" He asked the grandpa, who grinned cynically and charged forward - sprinting at a speed that betrayed his age. By a few decades.

"Ollie ollie umstumfry! Ready or not, here I come!" He hollered, brandishing his ax and swinging it around in an impressive display of pointlessness. He was a pretty good decoy, all things aside, however. He was soon upon a dark-haired girl with a glowing mark on her head - taking that as a sign that she was his opponent, the grandpa took a wild swing at her that missed by a good few inches but was certainly not lacking in force and speed.

[Crane Path]
Hearing footsteps sound behind her, Chris turned around to see if something was approaching. Smiling widely as she saw it was Lauren, the redhead greeted the other girl by swinging her scythe in the air in a motion that resembled a wave. "Lauren! Welcome to the party!" She called out. "Bear man, meet Lauren!" Chris added to Nikolai. Her attention was soon drawn when she noticed something else moving in the swamp. "Hello? Is anybody there? Are you a white team member? Because, if you are, can I chop you up?" She shouted merrily in the general direction of the movement. Perhaps it was another black team member, or even a swamp animal, but either way Chris was curious to see what it was.

Her attention span proved to be quite short, however. The moment she heard a voice yelling up ahead that sounded unfamiliar and unlike one of her teammates, the girl's eyes narrowed. "Excuse me, can we see what that is about? If it's a fight, I don't want to miss it." She said, her voice suddenly becoming rather serious as she squinted at the path ahead of her.

Astrid pried and pried at the crate, but she just couldn't get this thing open for some reason. "Darn crate... Why won't you just open up already?" she grumbled to herself. After a moment more of fruitless effort, Astrid thought she would try a different approach. "Fah, I can't get this... Maybe you can pry it open with your spear?" She lifted her head to make eye contact with her teammate standing directly next to her, but there was almost no time for that. All of a sudden, Astrid heard a loud and unfamiliar voice ringing through the jungle -- something along the lines of: "Ready or not, here I come!"

She froze, and her heart skipped a beat. That had to be the opposing team, no question about it. Astrid couldn't believe it; they were this close already? Still crouching by the crate, she looked frantically left and right to try to figure out where they were coming from, but the opponent seemed to appear out of nowhere... And it was certainly a strange sight that befell them.

All of a sudden, this old grandpa came barreling down the path with far more energy than he looked like he should have had, swinging this massive battle axe to and from and making all kinds of noise. "Oh my God--" Astrid fell back on her butt, the axe missing her face by only a few inches as she scooted backwards a foot or so. Without even getting up off her butt, Astrid suddenly drew one of her pistols, cocked it, and fired it at the ground by the grandpa's feet. "Get back!" she screeched in a panic. "I said get back!!" It was only a warning shot to get him to back off for a moment, but it all happened so fast -- heck, Astrid didn't even know that she knew how to use a gun. Sure, she was pretty intuitive and knew she would have figured it out, but... all of what just happened was on instinct. If she hadn't been so afraid for her life at the moment, she probably would have been scared of herself.

But there was no time to think about that. Astrid didn't knew where her own teammates were at the moment, but she knew that this old grandpa couldn't have been there on his own. To have already gathered two crates and be this far down the path? The white team was moving too efficiently. It was clear they were using good strategy, which meant no one would have gone out alone... So where were the grandpa's posse?

"Don't move, or I swear I'll shoot." Astrid's face was completely deadpan as she stared down the enemy. With one pistol still pointed at the old man, she searched behind him for someone hiding in the brush or around the corner or in a tree -- anywhere nearby. And sure enough, she caught a glimpse of someone a little further back with a shotgun poised and ready. On the inside, Astrid's heart was beating a mile a minute and she was scared out of her mind; but on the outside? "Don't shoot!" she shouted to whoever was holding the shotgun, whipping out her second pistol and aiming it directly at them. On the outside, she retained her deadpan expression. The only thing that truly gave away the utter fear that was coursing through her was her quick and shortened breathing.

Astrid glanced back and forth between the old man and the owner of the shotgun, aiming both her pistols at either enemy. She knew that only threatening to shoot would only hold them off for so long... This stalemate wouldn't last forever. And Astrid didn't want to actually shoot anyone. (Not that they needed to know that.) Still, she had to take this moment of confusion to get the crate out of there. The white team already had more than the black team... If they got away with this one, there's be none left for the black team to take!

"Fah, unlatch my belt and take it off," she whispered to her teammate, who was standing poised and ready to fight right next to Astrid. "Loop the belt through the seam in the crate. You can carry the first crate back in your arms, and drag the second crate behind you by the belt." Astrid's pistols weren't in their holsters anymore, so there was no point to keeping her belt on if it could be useful elsewhere. (She felt safer holding the guns in her hand anyway.)

Fah looked hesitant but nodded in acknowledgement and began undoing Astrid's belt. Astrid continued to stare down the grandpa and the shotgun owner with pistols aimed. She was terrified, but continued to hold out her deadpan expression. As Fah was fumbling with the belt and working on looping it through the crate, Astrid called out to the wielder of the shotgun, "No one here has to get hurt... But pull one funny move, and I'll gun down you and the old man here." Of course, she was mostly fibbing. She could definitely hit grandpa because he was only several steps in front of her... But there was no way she could hit the shotgunner. She had never used a gun before, so there was very little chance she could actually land a hit her from this distance. Hopefully, the opponent couldn't tell that, though.

Astrid just hoped to God that she could stall enough for Fah to escape with the crates, and for her teammates to arrive and help... Otherwise, her heart might pound its way right out of her chest before anybody on the white team would even have to shoot her.

Jessica 'Sugar' & White Base Team
@ivoryknight22

@Bismarck

@Crysodic, @IceQueen, @Thurrbo

@HellHoundWoof

Nikolai watched the tiny girl run past him and grab one of his hands trying to pull him forward, it was a noble effort but one that would remain fruitless. While she was trying Nikolai continued to slam his legs into the ground as he moved forward, he wondered when the next crate would be. If he saw another one he would throw it back, or send it back with this girl. She was interesting. She wanted to kill. Not normal for most little girls, not that all little girls didnt have a violent side but this girl lived only on that side of herself. She mentioned a few other names and Nikolai shrugged, not sure if they were friends of hers or not. He started moving a bit faster as he saw a cross in the path ahead of him, when the pair crossed it he spotted the others from earlier on his right. He waved as he ran and passed the crossroads. As he and the girl beside him ran forth he began hearing voices ahead of him. He lowered the axe head from his grip and clasped the axes shaft towards its end. If he was jumped out at, all he need do was stop and let the momentum swing the axe.

"Voices ahead, be care... careful red girl," Nikolai stuttered out as he and she ran along the path towards one of the few remaining crates. The girl rushed forward when she heard yelling, and Nikolai noticed the other girl had just arrived. She carried a small knife, not exactly a threatening image. Nikolai picked up speed and ran behind Chris towards the voices ahead. He regarded the new girl briefly.

"Stay behind me, I big I protect tiny you." Nikolai said between pants as he ran, the girl was much tinier and held a close range weapon. He didnt know her skill with it but he didnt want her to die.

Lauren Jennings

An inaudible sigh of relief escaped Lauren's lips as she spotted Chris with the intimidating man from earlier, whom of which Chris addressed him as Bear Man. "H-hey, Chris." The relief she had gained was short lived when Chris began to call out to someone up ahead. Surely it was an enemy. The same fear she had felt earlier before leaving the base was making its reappearance, since there was the possibility that they could die.
Suddenly the giant male spoke to her, which caused her to pause for a moment. He was going to protect her? It quite honestly made her feel like she was incapable of taking care of herself, a feeling which she did not like. Narrowing her eyes slightly, Lauren's grip on the weapon in her hand tightened drastically. Despite her fear, she did not want to be viewed as a weakling. So she glanced down at her weapon and a sense of familiarity washed over as she swiftly swung the dagger around for a second. I felt as if the weapon fit in her hand perfectly. Looking up once more, she realized she would have to prove herself to be strng enough to defend herself.

Blinking once as his swing missed, then the sound of a gunshot pierced the air, Sander instinctively froze. He seemed to take a few seconds to process the situation. Obviously, while his body was still nimble, his brain was starting to slow down a little bit. He stared at the dark-haired girl [Astrid] for a few moments, before looking at the Asian girl [Fah] whom the first called forward. He didn't seem to realize that the Asian was trying to make off with the crate, however from behind him Andrea did.

The white team sniper lowered her eyebrows and raised her shotgun, seeing that all attention was focused on the grandpa axeman. Without such a warning as the other team had given with their shots, she didn't hesitate before pulling the trigger and hitting the Asian square between the eyes. The girl, who had come forward and had been fumbling with the first girl's belt, fell backwards. She was dead before she hit the ground. From around the group, the announcer's voice spoke up again.

"Second blood goes to Andrea Thain, white team warrior. Fah Christajoon, black team scout, has just been killed. The black team replacement is: Lycus Kree."

While the voice was speaking, Andrea re-positioned her shotgun to aim at the pistol girl's head. As it was, the girl would probably shoot Sander, but Andrea wanted to at least try to keep that from happening. "Don't even think about shooting otherwise I'll take my second kill." Andrea warned, her voice deadpanning across the clearing. The girl with the pistols looked like she was made from steel with the expression she had on her face, but then again, so did Andrea. The white team member hoped to achieve a stalemate until the rest of her squad could either come in or call a retreat. However, as it was, her hands were tied. If she took her attention off of the pistol girl Sander would get shot, but if anybody else tried to attack her she'd be screwed.

Sander seemed to understand this and took the opportunity to move, having already taken enough time to consider his options while everything else had been happening. He shuffled forward, moving toward the crate and dead Asian, however stepped over the crate. It was only his job to act as decoy. Conn was supposed to be dealing with the actual crate's contents - which the deputy planned to do as he and Alice sprinted forwards. The deputy busted open the crate with his weapon - brass knuckles.

"The fifth crate has been claimed. The supreme crate has been claimed by white team forces."

Spoke out the announcer, and Conn cursed. He wouldn't be able to get the full benefit out of this crate in this situation. Hastily starting to pull a few of the water supplies out of the crate he trusted Alice to protect him from any incoming hits. Sander was standing in front of him with his ax in the air, yelling challenges at the assembled black team members. "Come and get me! I dare ya!" He was shouting.

As the scene from up ahead came into sight, Chris grinned. It seemed like things were finally getting going - and while many would regard that as a bad thing, she was more than content with the notion. She could hear the bear man running after her, his footsteps providing an easy point of reference for his movements, and a quick look back showed that Lauren was also running behind her. Slowing her pace slightly so that she could speak to the other two, Chris looked up at the bear man. "Can I go after the french girl with the weird staff? Please please please? You can take on the grandpa dude with the ax!" The redhead said excitedly, speaking to Nikolai first before turning to Lauren. "Do you want to help me with the staff person? She should be fun. Maybe we can also go after the man trying to empty out the crate..." Chris mused, the crates a secondary matter in her mind. Her main priority was the fight. The girl didn't seem at all bothered by the news that one of her teammates had just been killed, taking it in stride - literally so, as she was running - and not looking back on it. The replacement would probably be coming in soon though, maybe he would help a bit.

His head pounding, Lycus slowly opened his eyes. He opened his onyx eyes and swung his legs out over the edge of the bed. "So, its a game of chess, and it looks like I am but a pawn. Well even a pawn can become a queen or rook. And it looks like the game is afoot, and I'm missing the action." He got out of bed and picked up his AW50 and sling it across his back. He got up and made his way across the house. Entering the room, he looked at Brendan, lazing on the couch, and said a quick hello. Inspecting the map, he quickly acertained that there were two major ways to approach. He decided to head down the frog path and attempt to loot those created that have not been claimed yet. Heading out into the forest, he walked slightly to the left of the snake path, popping in every few minutes, hopeing to get a straight shot at the white team. He spotted a man from his team dragging a box back to the base, and walked up to him. "Hey, I'm Lycus, new scout. If that is an unlooted chest, we should setup an ambush. It will act as bait. Leave the crate here and ready your weapon. I can hide in the brush and we can take them."
