Ok but for real... He is all about himself. His life is a cluttered mess, or really seems like it. Its an organized mess, as he calls it. He may come off as narcissistic and sarcastic sometimes, but he is always willing to help when he's needed. He does like to not take things seriously though, he's just quirky like that.


Biography: It's a mystery. He just showed up one day and stuck around. His own stories change from time to time and person to person.

Extra: Castor is serious about his name thinks it's lazy to shorten it. On the contrary, he likes to add titles to make it longer. But at least, he prefers for people to call him "Castor Von Bismark" at the very least. | He lives on the third floor of the magic shop, but he's enchanted it so the inside looks a lot larger than it seems from the outside. | Has several pet birds in his home, and a pair of lovebirds in the shop.

FEARS: Thunder(Storms make her uncomfortable in general), Losing her sister.
PERSONALITY: Ezra is confident and strong willed-- sometimes on a stubborn side. Between the two Eden twins, Ezra acts as the older sister. She is a take charge kind of girl, and is generally willing to do and/or sacrifice what's needed for it. However, as she is so strong willed, she is still kind and seemingly gentle. Anyone who needs the help, she will be there. Though if you mess with her, or her sister, or her grandmother, she can be very vindictive. That being said, she is very connected and protective of her sister Erza.

Biography: Ezra is the twin sister of Erza Eden. The two have been nearly inseparable since birth, and as such have a pretty close connection. When they were younger, they moved in with their grandmother. Whether their parents are alive or not, they don't really touch the subject. At least Ezra doesn't. She'd sooner explain that Her grandmother is all they need. As they were really young when they started living in dragues, they've lived in town since.

As they grew older, they both chose their different paths in life. While both chose to follow the medical path, Ezra followed her grandmother's a little closer. After the Grandmother retired, Ezra took over the family business as the pharmacist of Dragues. While she truly doesn't mind, she knew one of the girls would have to-- and she was happy to do it so that her sister could follow her own dreams.

As it were, Ezra lives with Erza and their grandmother still in the apartment above the Apothecary. While Ezra has no plans to move out, she does hope to find a piece of life to call her own.

Extra: Ezra learned to play the Lute from her Grandmother. | Has a sort of green thumb. The apartment is full of houseplants and flowers that Ezra adore. | Has had a one sided crush on on of the men in Dragues for a very long time. (shh, it's a secret.)

FEARS: Failing as a mayor, Dragues losing its uniqueness.
PERSONALITY: Mercius is a confident and charming man, and someone who seems to enjoy absolutely everything and everyone. He's a big person, which can sometimes be intimidating in and of itself, but he makes up for it by the fact that he's actually a teddy bear. He's someone willing to give the shirt off his back to help one of his people. Note that anyone living/visiting/passing through Dragues he considers as one of his people. While most of the time he seems somewhat carefree and entertained, he can get very serious when it comes to his duties as a mayor. If there is any threat to Dragues, he's going to do his damndest to protect it.

Biography: The Wolfthal family has been a part of Dragues for a very, very long time. Counting years back when Dragons were used for more than just parcel deliveries and pretty looks. The Wolfthals fought in the wars of dragons and man and helped build the foundation for which the now peaceful town is built on. Mercius grew up hearing these stories from his father and grandfather. He was raised with a strong loyalty and love for Dragues, and part of his motivation to become the mayor of dragues.

Granted, his father was before him-- so it wasn't too surprising that Mercius would follow suit.

Other than the stories, his story before adulthood and being mayor was boring and generic. Nothing out of the ordinary. On the contrary, almost the day after being Mayor, his boring life changed. A gruesome storm hit which left the town in shambles. However, during, Mercius was doing everything in his power to protect the town, it's people, and the dragons. Unfortunately, in doing so he got caught between an agitated dragon and a collapsing building. His hand was lost, and he was left quite battered and scarred. To this day he still counts his lucky stars that he lived through it.

Just because he was hurt did not mean his responsibilities were gone, so he spent the minimum amount of time healing in order to help rebuild. Years later, he still works just as hard and will do everything he can to continue to do his town proud.

Extra: He has a hook for a hand-- he thinks its funny. | Is afflicted with synesthesia | Has a severe weakness to tears be it man or woman. He sees someone cry, he feels obligated to help make their situation better. | Is married to Michelle

Castor Von Bismark

"Aaaahn.... Yes. This is it." Castor Von Bismark, Village crazy man-- er Wizard, excitedly mused as he pulled a sunburnt orange cape from his closet. His Cape closet- literally filled with different capes for every occasion. Castor Von Bismark was everything extra, meaning he needed an extravagant cape even if its only for morning errands. This particular one was enchanted- it smelled of cinnamon apple. One of his favorite smells, to be honest. He was, apparently, the non-conforming town person who wasn't exactly fond of all this pumpkin and spice. He's not basic enough.

The cape twirled around him majestically until it settled on his shoulders, and he clasped it to the fabric of his blouse. After a moment of standing and looking at himself in the mirror, he frowned. "I'm missing something, aren't I?" The squawk of one of his birds made him gasp. "Of course. You are completely right, Fredrick." With the snap of his finders, a poof of smoke clouded around his head. When it dispersed his melon was shaped like... a melon. "Oh- wrong plant." His voice resounded even though no face was on the melon. Another snap, another cloud of smoke.This time, his head was as a pumpkin. "Ah, yes. Now I feel like im in the spirit. Still... It is eerie without the face. I don't want to scare the children... well- not that much." After spending time to draw a face on with marker, he once again added a little spell. When he spoke, it would look like that drawn mouth was moving to match the phonetics. The eyes also blinked for added effect. Now he is ready for the day.

Castor Von Bismark would first head to the market. There were a few things he'd need to pick up. The door to the shop closed and locked itself as the wizard left it. Already he could see the children stare in awe. Whether it was fear or surprise, any attention was good for Castor. The drawn mouth of the pumpkin widened into an even bigger smile. Today was going to be fun.​

Ezra Eden

Fall was probably one of the best season for a multitude of reasons. One, it was a time of change. Like spring, but a different kind of change. It was the death cycle of life-- where the beautiful colors on the trees and ground wilted and died in the most beautiful fashion. A foretelling of the equally as beautiful rebirth yet to come. Up until the Fall Equinox, it was a slow trickle for the leaves to start to change in color and the ground level plants to start to die, but then after, it sped up and the Dragues would become blanketed with beautiful and deep warm colors.

Ezra loved Fall for so many reasons, it was a muse to her spirit, as well as Grandmother's. The latter only made it so much better. When Grandmother Eden was happy, everything was perfect. While the woman was slowly entering her own final cycle in life-- becoming older and more frail, her spirit seemed to be refreshed around this time of the season. That in and of itself made Ezra more motivated to get up out of bed and start the day.

Once Grandmother was attended too (given medication and food) Ezra made her way around the small family's home above the apothecary. Her indoor plants were changing, and Ezra had to tend to them and clean up the fallen leaves and petals. Many of her flowers were going to die, and that was sad enough- but at least she knew that newer breeds of plants would be blooming soon in the winter. Change could always be good.

Once that was done, she dressed into more professional (but still loose and comfortable) clothing and made her way downstairs to the shop. She'd left some food for Erza upstairs in case she hadn't left for work already.

While Ezra was eager to go into the backyard of the Apothecary and into the greenhouse, there was more important work to be done. Orders needed to be filled and she had to prepare vitamin packs for the dragons today. That was something to look forward too-- she thoroughly enjoyed visiting the dragons and their riders. Maybe she would be able to catch Remmi or Kana today. It's been a while since she had leisure time to talk to them.

It was while she was filling orders that her friend and coworker, Josiah, walked in. She smiled back and nodded. "It is such a beautiful day. Good morning." Her eyes followed him for a moment, but she had to focus back at what she was doing. She was good enough at multitasking to listen and fill. Her eyes glimpsed at him for a split moment as he explained his plans. "You be sure to be careful while you're out there." The mother hen in her was always concerned, but now was the time for animals to be gathering food for hibernation. Who knew how they would be acting.

"I've not had a chance to go back there yet. I got down here not long before you--" She glanced up at him while she pulled down a mortar and pestle. "--would you mind getting me the ingredients to Ezekiel's digestive supplement?" She started working again soon after the request. "After I get back from delivering these, I can join you in the greenhouse, if you want."​

Introduction
Welcome to CORPUS VERITAS: Penumbra!

This is a sub-forum of the overarching story of Covert created mainly by Dao Ma. I am simply a collaborator along with her and Tarieles. That being said, the story of this particular thread is based on one of the specific facilities within Corpus Veritas, named Penumbra. Read on in the subjects below to learn about Corpus Veritas and Penumbra.

Corpus Veritas
Also known as COVERT, CORPUS VERITAS is a secret organization that handles delicate, supernatural cases all over the world. Every legend has a bit of truth to it, and COVERT make sure to keep the peace. They make sure there is no conflict between what is legend, myth, and folklore and human society.

All COVERT agents are trained to handle all types of situations pertaining to the supernatural. Most that work for the agency are, themselves, some kind of supernatural being. Beings that are caught and brought into the agency and are determined to have a chance to be a productive member of society are given the chance as an agent in COVERT.

CORPUS VERITAS works diligently at keeping the peace between all realms and planes of existence.

As of now, there are three main locations: Paradigm, located in the heart of the business district in New York; Paladium, built like a fortress located in Chicago; and Penumbra, the newest division located near Oxford in the UK.
Penumbra
Penumbra is the newest division of CORPUS VERITAS located near Oxford, UK. While the campus and facilities have been built for quite some time, it's been populated with mainly robotic agents, and artificial intelligence to run it. The Director of the Penumbra has also been unseen since before its creation. At least, until recently.

With the Director finally surfacing in the agency, agents from the other two locations have been temporarily transferred to Penumbra. Things were running smoothly with robots alone, but to grow, more types of agents were needed. It was part of the COVERT way, as it were.

Any new recruits will go through the training with a mix of AI and Veteran supervisors. Some new recruits have already been brought in, but Penumbra is still quite populated by robotics.

The facility itself is incredibly clean, and very high tech. Security is tight, with robotic guards in every corridor and at every entrance. Retina and physical scans are done regularly at random in different areas of the facility, and all agents are required to carry their identification keys with them if they would want access to anything on campus.

There is one specific area in Penumbra that is designated entirely to an animal sanctuary. Very few are allowed access to this area, and it seems to be almost completely comprised of Red Pandas.

DIVISIONS


director

The Director belongs to the one individual with the most power over an individual Facility. In most cases, they are the mysterious overseer that not many meet. They have the highest authority and every major decision goes to the director for approval. Many major decisions and/or missions are either made by or approved by the director.

At Penumbra, the current director has a different method. They were non-existent for years. It was a rumor that the AI's were a hive mind of the director. Only recently did the Director surface, and tends to be less hidden than the other directors at other locations. They not only like to know everything that happens within Penumbra, but likes to get involved most times as well.


operations

Operations cover the majority of COVERT agents. They are the ones that get things done on the field. While other divisions do have some fieldwork, Operations are most common to go out. Most agents will be in operations after their recruit phase. They will then be given missions and, upon completion, report to their supervisors. There are three main subdivisions within Operations.
