Two hundred years after the Oblivion Crisis of the third Era, Tamriel finds itself in a state of unrest. The Aldmeri Dominion instigated a war with the Empire, only to cease fire with the signing of the White-Gold Concordat in 4E 180 and outlawing Talos worship. Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm and leader of the Stormcloak Rebellion, had been captured through an Imperial ambush - but in the wake of a shocking dragon attack, he escaped and returned to his throne in Windhelm. And somewhere amidst this chaos, thieves, assassins, mages and supernatural creatures stir beneath the surface. Skyrim has entered a period of upheaval, and the strife has only just begun.
