Not sure if I missed anyone recommending it, but "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini. Its 4 books, all around 500 pages, so it can be a minute to read, but its a great read and is a staple in fantasy writing. The movie might be terrible...okay it is. The book is amazing in my eyes. Check it out, might just like it.

Bird Box is the most amazing book I have read. It's a little scary

The queen of the tearling is a new up and coming book that is amazing and greatly detailed.

Anything by laurell k. Hamilton. Her Anita blake series especially.

I enjoyed Jane Eyre when I read it.

Also applicable, though I'm not sure if you've ever read them or not:
Les Miserables, provided you can withstand the language
Chronicles of Narnia (a repeat)
To Kill a Mockingbird
Journey to the West
Water Margin

edit: I've also heard Fathers and Sons by Turgenev is good.

Artemis Fowl has always been one of my favorites, I highly recommend it. Really any book by Eoin Colfer is always a good read, in my opinion.

Other than that I recommend looking into books by Lauren Oliver as well as Andrew Clements, specifically Before I Fall and Things Not Seen.

East: Edith Pattou

Her use of my favorite character in the book is of a more poetic sort of writing and I envy that in any book I read. This had me wrapped around its pages the whole journey through. Who doesn't want to be that bad-ass character who goes against the tide?
