A Hogwarts 1975 PRP with @Sanguine Fox and @Vio

There was no mistaking the blood red tinge in her irises. A million thoughts raced in their minds as they gathered around the young girl, all of them reaching the same conclusion. Vampire.

Not far away, two children played in the safe dark confines of their parents' manor. They were unlike any other children, for they had to abide by many strange rules. Don't go out during daylight was one of them. Today, that rule would be broken, for the better or worse.

***

It was in the year 1967 when the lives of three individuals changed. Somehow, by some twist of fate, their paths met and intertwined until they became inseparable. They can still remember the incident like it just happened yesterday. That sweltering hot summer day set into motion the beginning of a relationship they never dreamed of having.

@Vio @Adrian

She didn't understand how this happened.

Though her grandmother had drilled the need to hide what she was into her head, Sanguine had never thought the reality her grandmother worriedly described would happen. That if others figured out what she was - she would be ridiculed, hurt or worse. Sanguine had, filled with childish innocence and optimism, disregarded her grandmothers warning and believed the world to not be as cruel as she warned. However, Sanguine currently stood surrounded by children in various ages - though many similar to her own - all with varying looks of disgust, anger and fear as they peered at her now painted red orbs. Tears swam in those ruby depths and fell quickly down her rosy cheeks, coloured red with each hiccup and short intake of breath she took.

Only a short while ago she was playing happily with the children. They had been playing hide and seek contently and Sanguine kept a good control on her normally strong emotions to keep her colourful gaze in check. Her grandmother had been helping her with her anger, after all and finally she had agreed to let Sanguine go outside and play - only for a short while - with others who lived nearby that were her age. Sanguine was delighted and had hid within a nearby bush with a wide, toothy grin on her lips. Things had gone to hell when an older kid and shoved her though - removing her from her hiding place and had gotten her found by the seeker.

Then, Sanguine had snapped.

Sanguine had grabbed the slightly taller boys collar and cursed up a storm of insults, her anger evident through her words and the slowly tightening grip she had upon his collar. The shouts had attracted the kids hidden away and soon enough, they were circled but she took no notice until she heard the sharp cry of fear from the boy she held. His eyes had widened owlishly and his lips parted as he stared at her now deep red orbs. His expression had stunned her and her grip relaxed, allowing him to shove her further from him as he ran back to his friends. It was a few silent moments before shouting erupted.

This was where Sanguine was now. Stumbling back to try escape the surrounding kids who shouted taunts of "Monster!" and "Vampire", these only being some of the names that echoed in her ears and brought her to tears. The words drowned out any noise and caused the red haired eight year old to clasp her hands futilely over her ears. "No! I am not a monster!" She cried, her words broken by hiccups as she slammed her eyes closed. Where was her grandmother when she needed her? Sanguine was stunned when seconds later a small stone, which didn't hurt much, hit the side of her arm - causing her to gasp. Other kids were collecting small nearby objects as well while the others continued to call out insults to her - all the while Sanguine was stuck and unable to run as they kept her surrounded - her wide, doe-like red orbs staring around in horror.

Oliver Whitefang

"I want to go outside!" Oliver cried, peeking longingly between the curtains for the hundredth time that day. The sun had finally begun to set, its last rays winking in the horizon. "I don't care what father says! Nobody's going to see us anyway, right Liz?"

He sat back on the floor, staring at the assortment of toys littered all about him as if they were the bane of his very existence. A frown tugged at his lips. Picking up a toy broomstick, he gave it an unenthusiastic wave before throwing it against the wall. "What's the use if we can't use it outside?" He wailed as he pushed himself up from the floor, "I'm bored!"

Without waiting for a response from Liz, Oliver headed for the doors. Their parents were somewhere else in this massive manor. If he were careful enough, surely they wouldn't notice him leave. And if luck were on his side, then perhaps he could even get back home unnoticed. Taking a deep breath to steady his nerves, Oliver tiptoed out of the room and down the long winding stairs.

When he finally reached the front doors, he didn't hesitate for a single second.

Oliver stepped outside for the first time in daylight.
