    Zanpakuto sealed Abilities: None in particular, although the design of both the weapon and sheathe were made to be light in weight and faster to draw and attack with as a result.

    "Strike down with a heavenly wrath, Sukai no Omo"

    Zanpakuto Shikai Abilities: For starters the Shikai's 'blade' possesses a far longer range than in its sealed form, the chain measuring to about 2 meters long from the hilt to the tip. In addition, the chain that makes up the whip generates a superconductive electrical current running from the hilt to the last link in the chain. Any unfortunate soul who gets struck by this whip will not only feel the bruises of getting beaten with a chain, but the electrical shock of a livewire as well. In addition to this, when the electricity is charged up the Shikai will be able to send bolts of electricity as projectiles. But, of course, the whip is not quite as durable as the sword, and the chain can be broken off as a result. Once the chain breaks, the electric current will vanish.

    Zanpakuto Bankai Abilities: While it CAN be used instantly, Hiyoko prefers activating her Bankai via the destruction of her Shikai. Upon activation, the links in her chain whip severs and floats in the air, an electrical charge coming out from her body magnetizes the air as they become formless globs of liquid metal. Upon doing this, the globs all come back towards her and come together around her, forming armor in the representation of a blue dragon, as well as a broadsword in her hands. In this form, she has a far more effective amount of power, as well as a durable defence. The armor makes her bulkier, so her speed isn't nearly as great as it is without it, and she's completely unable to perform a flash step as a result. However, the real kicker is that her armor acts as a giant electrical conductor, capable of charging and discharging electrical energy to respectively either boost her up or use offensively against opponents either by focusing that energy on her sword, or by firing it outright from her hand or the long dreadlocks behind her. Also, despite her decrease in speed, she is still faster on her feet then that armor makes her look. However, this armor is far from impregnable, and the electrical power has its weakness.

    Kido Spells:

    Hado- Byakurai: Hiyoko gathers high-density spiritual energy, and points at the intended target with their index finger and generates a concentrated bolt of lighting to use against the target. It does not take long to fire this hado, however, the amount of damage it brings is decent at best.

    Hado- Jugeki Byakurai: A modified version of Byakurai. Unlike its unmodified counterpart, this spell takes the appearance of a red beam powerful enough to pierce through a durable foe, from a considerable distance. However, as one might expect, it takes much longer to charge the energy for, and therefore takes longer to fire with.

    Hado- Tsuzuri Raiden: Hiyoko generates an electric current through any object they touch, which damages anything or anyone which is in contact with the object the current runs through.

    Hado- Raikoho: Generating an orb of yellow lighting above the palm of his/her hand, the practitioner fires the built-up energy at his/her target as a massive concentration of energy which resembles a lightning strike.

    Hado- Hiryu Gekizoku Shinten Raiho: A high-level Hadō which only Kidō masters can use. The practitioner raises his/her arm forward and outstretched, occasionally using their free hand to grip the firing arm for extra support, with the palm facing flat toward the target, and fires a gigantic beam of electrical and spiritual energy, which creates an enormous explosion upon impact. It has no incantation, but the charge up takes longer then even the Jugeki Byakurai, and the end result of its use utterly drains Hiyoko.

    Bakudo- Tsuriboshi: Creates a ball of blue energy which fires out six ropes from its center. As the ropes attach themselves to nearby sturdy objects, the energy in the center solidifies into a flat elastic-like cushion, which catches falling objects.

    Bakudo- Danku: A defensive wall is created to protect against an enemy's attack. Hiyoko creates a translucent barrier in the form of a large rectangular wall. While incredibly powerful, a strong enough attack can break it down and destroy it.

    Bakudo- Kyomon: This technique erects a transparent barrier that extends from one side of an opening to the other. It is used to protect the target by preventing intruders from passing through it. It is usually used to cover the entrance of a room with the target inside it. However, this barrier is much more easily broken from the inside if the target chooses to leave confinement.

    Bakudo- Horin: Using their index and middle fingers, the practitioner generates an orange-hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns, which ensnares and immobilizes the opponent as the tendril wraps around their body. The end of it remains in the hands of Hiyoko, allowing them to control the path of the tendril before and after capture. The tendril can connect with another one of itself, if both have captured a target, and bind them together. If the reiatsu is strong enough, the captured is able to break out of this.

    Bakudo- Enkosen: Using either both hands or his/her Zanpakutō in a blocking motion, the practitioner generates a dull yellow energy, which takes the form of a large spinning disk of condensed Reiatsu, in front of themselves, blocking an opponent's attack. Much like other barriers, a strong enough attack can shatter it.

    Other Skills:

    Flash Step: Like many captains among the Gotei 13, Hiyoko is very much capable of the Flash Step ability, often using this speed first and foremost when battling against an opponent.

    Kido Master: As one might expect from the number of Kido she possesses, much like the 4th captain, Hiyoko is a masterfully skilled user of Kido. However dependance on those spells have been rather...negatively consequential on her body and soul. As such, she tends to only use Kido when the need absolutely demands it.

    Master Swordswoman: As a captain, there are two things Hiyoko is reknown for: Her usage of Kido, and her skill with the sword. While she uses her Kido as her method of protection in attack/defense style of use, her Zampakuto is used when its demanded for someone or something to be ultimately neutralized. Her style of swordplay derives inspiration from Japan's Iaijutsu, making use of her zampakuto's peculiar shape to allow her to quickly draw it from its sheathe. While the original style was designed for quick counter-attacks, Hiyoko continues after the surprise in a chain of quick powerful attacks in succession. However, in exchange for the speed of her style, she leaves herself open for strikes against her, not having much defense in mind.

    Whip Master: Mastering the art of the sword is one thing. Every captain within the Gotei 13 can boast just as much skill with a sword as she does, if not more so. However, in addition to the sword, Hiyoko has also mastered the Whip, which is the form of her Shikai. While not quite as effective as the sword, and not knowing any real styles of how to use one in combat, Hiyoko uses the whip's range, light weight, and flexibility to her advantage. However, while still quick on her feet, she must sacrifice a bit of her speed in order to use the whip properly, as it relies less on quick rapid attack, and more on strategy. She does try to think more defensively however in order to compensate, but even that must take strategy to attain since its flexible nature won't hold back a sword's slash on its own.

    Personality: At her best, a kind and caring leader with a fascination for the human world. At her worst, a well-intentioned extremist that, once serious in a fight, shows no mercy. Hiyoko is said to be one of the most gentle and kind souls among this generation of the Soul Society. Being formerly a seated member of the 4th Division before her transfer to 13th, Hiyoko has a habit of helping the wounded get nursed back to health at 4th division's area.

    However her larger habit by far is her curiosity and interest in the world of the humans, which is why she came to 13th in the first place. She is kind and respectable towards her peers, and shows a motherly care for her division.
    However, once she's in a serious fight she can't back out from, her demeanor changes from a motherly individual, to an arrogant and ruthless warrior looking to put her opponent in their place and end the fight as soon as she possibly can.

    Background: Before she was a Captain, Hiyoko was a normal human soul. She forgot how long its been since she died, but she does remember how she got into the Soul Society, a day she will never be able to forget. After she died, she had a soul chain connected to a man that she knew in her life, perhaps her brother, maybe a lover-turned-widow now, she can't quite remember anymore. But one day, doing her observation of this man, a hollow was about to attack and devour her when, all of a sudden, a Shinigami appeared and destroyed it before it had a chance to do so. Immediately afterwards, upon judging the woman deeds both good and ill, she was proven as worthy and became a part of the Soul Society.

    At first, she was a resident of Rukongi, a far-shot away from the heavenly afterlife she was expecting, but she lived with it for a few years. It was around this time that she learned that anyone might be able to become a a shinigami like the one who saved her soul that day. All she had to do was spend a few years in the Academy then join the Gotei 13, the 13 divisions of Shinigami that protects both the Earth and the Soul Society.

    Wanting to help, perhaps as a way to repay them for saving her, she chose to enter the academy, and become a Shinigami. Sure enough, while certainly not with flying colors, she graduated the Academy and, at first, became a member of 4th division under Captain Kurenai, particular skill of Kido. However, while she was a gifted learner of physical methods of healing and first aid, she was not able to learn a single Kaido spell despite her many attempts. As such, she was transferred from 4th to 13th division at her own request, upon learning that they are essentially the earth patrol division.

    From there on she became a seated member of 13th Division where she stayed for many years. She often patrolled the city of Karakura town, protecting people and spirits alike from the Hollows. After some time has passed, however, she was learning more and more about Kido and her zampakuto, and started going from seat to seat until eventually reaching the 3rd seat of 13th division.

    She remained in that seat for some time until the 13th Captain decided to retire from the Gotei 13, and grant the position to someone else, after a tragic incident where the previous lieutenant died while on patrol. Seeing Hiyoko's talent throughout the years spent in his squad, the captain decided to train her so that she may pass the Captain exam and take his place. To do this, they spent his last days as captain training her to be able to use Bankai.

    Eventually after quite some time, she qualified for the Captain's exam with at least 3 captains, among them being her about-to-retire Captain, and at her request, 4th Captain Shizuka Kurenai, likely to show her how far she's come from the beginner she was in Shizuka's division. She released her Bankai without much trouble, and as a result, passed the exam, becoming her Captain's replacement as he retired in peace.

    Ever since, she has been a caring captain to her unit, immediately promoting a lieutenant upon her own promotion, giving it to someone she befriended during her time as a seated Shinigami.

    Zanpakuto sealed Abilities: Besides the trick that his sword can split in half to give him two swords, none in particular.

    "Breathe, Fuyu no kyu purinsu"

    Zanpakuto Shikai Abilities: The two ice blades in his hands both let out a breath of freezing cold air around them, resulting in a drastic decrease in the temperature around the blades, which somehow results in letting out crystal particles, in the form of snowflakes, from the blade itself. Even if the blade doesn't hit its mark, the air around the blade with decrease the temperature of whatever it gets close to, and the 'snowflakes' touching any target would result in a painful chill and frost around wherever he strikes. If the blade itself touches the area in question, said area will freeze over completely. Although it will not spread across the entirity of the target, the area of the targets he strikes, a limb for example, will freeze over and be unusable until the ice thaws.

    The weakness, obviously enough, is intense levels of heat. The blade will still be incredibly cold even in the heat, but it will no longer have the cold air or snow around it, and of course a being of intense heat would thaw out the wounds he makes much faster than a normal being.

    Kido Spells:

    Bakudo: Sekienton: As the practitioner places the palms of their hands down on the ground, red smoke bursts forth from the point of contact, swiftly engulfing the surrounding area and briefly obscuring the movements of whomever is within the smoke, allowing for a quick getaway.

    Hado: Tsuzuri Raiden: The practitioner generates an electric current through any object they touch, which damages anything or anyone which is in contact with the object the current runs through.

    Other Skills:

    Skilled Swordsman: While he can't call himself a master of the sword, he is still a swordsman of amazing talent. The style of which he fights is one that is more focused on accuracy and speed rather than strength or defence. Of course said accuracy in his strikes is far from perfect, as he hasn't quite mastered the style as of yet.

    High foot speed: While he lacks the Flash step technique that the captains all possess, Makoto is a quick one on his feet, capable of running through the Seireitei in a matter of minutes, half-hour at most to run from one end to another, making him able to keep up with his speed-reputed Captain. However, such footwork can be quite exhausting for him, and enough running will eventually result in him needing to stop to catch his breath.

    Master of Stealth: His central talent is how good he is in the art of Stealth. As a former member of Onmitsukido, Makoto was a gifted master of the ninja way. When the task is needed to do so, he has no problems doing whatever it takes to make him invisible by any means necessary. It's not perfect, mind you, nothing really is when one must also factor a bit of luck into the task. If he cannot find any means to be completely invisible then he must try to be as discreet as he possibly can, even if it means disguising himself as someone else. Even so, he does have a tendency to factor the possibility of error, and respond accordingly.

    Personality: Much like his captain, Makoto is also a very quiet type, stoic in nature. However, unlike his captain who is like this out of politeness and thoughtfulness, Makoto's reason is due to just being Anti-Social. Being raised to be a member of Onmisukido's first branch essentially stole his childhood from him, and by the time he made for the first time within the branch, he witnessed their death at the hands of and betrayal against the Omnitsukido. As such, he feels he cannot place his trust in anyone but himself, even his captain he is obeying purely out of loyalty to the division.

    Despite this, he does has a sense of honor and protection to him, which is why he left such a cold hearted force to begin with. He will help out his fellow Shinigami in a pinch without a second thought, and will follow the Captain's orders to a dime. Also, Despite the fact that he left the Onmitsukido for their cruel ways, he still wears their uniform in respect for the experience he had there.

    Background: Makoto was a soul born in Inazuri district of Rukongai; a son of a member of the Onmitsukido. As such, when he was young, Makoto was raised by his father to be a member of the Executive militia like him. His childhood has been spent enduring his father's harsh training and lessons in secret, and so had no real interaction with others until he grew into being a member at the Physical age of 16. He wasn't the most talented, but he was an incredibly decent member among the militia.

    However, The Onmitsukido's first branch is a rather brutal and heartless place. What friendships he had upon entering severed after some time, need it be through assassinating said friends for whatever reason, or said friends being backstabbed or backstabbing him in order to get their job done.

    Tired of the cruelty that he was forced to witness and sometimes experience, he left the Onmitsukido and transfer to the 5th Division. From there, he rose quite quickly across the seats until eventually becoming Lieutenant of the 5th division.

    Resurricion Appearance: Standing massive and tall, Izuru gains what appears to be giant pieces of white armor covered in black fur, his face now has a giant lower jaw replacing his normal one and his necklace, and his hands now have 5 blades of ebony torched in flames where his nails were.

    Other Skills:

    Cero: Like every member of Espada, Izuru is capable of Cero, colored the typical red, Izuru generates it with his one of his hands, and fires it.

    Gran-Ray Cero: Also like every member of the Espada, Izuru is capable of Gran-ray Cero, the process of which involves generating a Cero from both hands, and combining both of them together.

    Extraordinary Strength: As the 10th Espada, the weakest member of this elite force of Arrancar, one of the only things Izuru has for him is his incredible strength, as if to make up for his lack of the powerful Reiatsu everyone else possesses.

    Hierro: To also compensate for his lack of Reiatsu, Izuru has incredibly hard skin, same as other Espada, capable of easily blocking normal sword slashes, and even some weaker shiki Zampakuto attacks.

    Gonzui: A suction technique the sucks up the souls of living humans, as well as any nearby souls into himself, ultimately devouring them. The drawback being that those even the slightest amount of reiatsu more than the normal every day soul can resist it, and those of a high amount, Quincy for instance, are practically immune to it.

    Bala: Also like other members of Espada, Izuru is able to fire bala from his closed fist in rapid succession. While not nearly as powerful as a Cero, Bala has a superior firing rate.

    Descorrer: Like other members of the Espada, Izuru is capable of opening up a Gargantua leading from Hueco Mondo to the human world.

    Skilled Hand-to-hand fighter: Since his Zampakuto is in the form of gauntlets, rather than swords, Izuru focuses his training on how to fight with his fists. As such, he has trained to be quite a decent fighter, both with his barefists, and his zampakuto.

    Personality: He is much the same in regards to the general traits of personality as Tora, ruthless, stubborn, and thinking of himself as better than others around him. However, while he has a rather explosive anger to him where the following traits essentially irrelevant, he can be considered the calmer one of the two, thinking things through before acting, and choosing wisely who he's going to pick a fight against. In that regard, he can be seen as something of a bully, preferring to pick fights with those who are as strong as him at most and weaker than him at least. It's not necessarily because he likes picking on the weak, but because he is a firm believe in the idea that only the strong survive in the world, and so the weak must be purged.

    Even so, He is a man of warrior's honor, preferring if his opponents are able to fight back, and unless he needs to devour souls from the human world, he often ignores those unable to fight. When he does fight, he does so fairly, no need to fight dirty, and no need to outnumber anyone.

    It should also be noted that he has a strong connection to Tora, often assisting with her missions like a Fraccion despite both being Espada. As such, he is rather protective of her.

    Background: At around the same time as Tora, Izuru was brought into the life of the Espada. But before hand, he travelled with her across Hueco Mondo as her other half both during their lives as arrancar, and before that when they were simply Adjuchas. However, each ranking among the Espada can only be given to one member each, and so there was a divide upon their entry into these elite members. Seen as the inferior one of the two, Izuru was marked as rank 10, while Tora was strong enough to be rank 6. There was no complaints on Izuru's part, however he has vowed since to prove himself and work his way up the ranks of the Espada.

Abilities (Sealed)
Expert Sonido- Kaito relies mainly on his speed when in a fight which leads him to practice upon his sonido more so than his other Espada comrades.

Cero- Just like the others he can use the basic Cero, but his is actually a bright yellow instead of the usual crimson.

Grand Rey Cero- Another technique that is known to all the Espada and has the same color scheme of his regular Cero.

Bala- This is Kaito's main way of attack since its easy and quick enough to use which fits his style perfectly.

High spiritual pressure- Being the 4th Espada he is counted amoung the number of having an immense spiritual pressure, but he knows full well that he is not the strongest and takes pleasure in that fact.

Hierro- Like the other Espada Kaito's skin is tougher than most other hollows, but his is also weaker which leads him to rely upon his speed to avoid more often.

Novice Swordsman: While he can use his blade well enough to use it in a fight Kaito prefers other means of attack rather than basic swordsplay.​

The only boost Kaito gets from this form is an increase speed and power towards his physical abilites and cero abilities. Although the mouths on his shins are not just for show since they can also be used to launch a cero at close range which he takes pleasure in using to throw off his opponents even more.
Personality:
Kaito is the very definition of lazy as he shall always be searching for a way to gain power with minimal effort. He is rather kind to most people that come to meet him although he won't be the first person to strike up a conversation unless he needed to find said person to speak upon an important matter. Kaito is possibly the least aggressive member out of all of the Espada since he finds getting angry over simple things too much work. And the biggest shocker to most people is the fact that he is loyal to a fault, but earning his trust isn't all that easy to accomplish as one might think. The main thing that gets him into trouble with most people is the fact of him being extremely blunt and holds back for no one.
Creation Story:​
Years before all this happened Kaito would never had even dared dream something like this could even be thought of let alone exist. For years he had wandered the deserted waste land known as hueco mundo always searching for new places to live in peace since most times he was attacked by hungry hollows wishing to expand their strength. While he was strong in his own right his sloth like personalitiy made dealing with multiple fights boring and not worth his time. So like any other slacker he searched for an easy way to gain power that didn't require much work...sadly he didn't search very actively. Soon however said power came to him as he was chosen as the next in line to join the espada ranks. Now with power and authority within his grasp one would hope that he would shape up and begin taking life more seriously...well all of your hopes are misplaced.​

After she graduated, Shizuka was picked for a position within Division 4 for her kido control and impressive understanding of kaido, or healing kido. Over a long period of time, through experience, training and dedication, Shizuka was given the position of 4th Division Captain.

Zanpakuto sealed Abilities: It is longer than an ordinary katana, closer to that or beyond a nodachi/okatana. With each differing stage of the zanpakuto, they each change the host's capabilities both physically, mentally and spiritually. In a way, the essence of the zanpakuto and host become one in balance.

Zanpakuto Shikai Abilities: Upon release, the blade itself vanishes as two gauntlets form around Kairi's hands and shin-plates of similar design appear on her legs. This is where she spends most of her time fighting. The zanpakuto itself essentially bonds with her this way, increasing her strength and durability. In its Shikai state, Kairi can temporarily double or triple her power for a short time with a boosting move she calls Kyouka-Ni/Mi (2/3). As well, besides the boost, the attacks themselves have unique effects to the opponent should they connect. She can either add an intense increase to kinetic force to add a hell of a punch, or a lingering effect that will eventually numb the areas she attacks. The numbing is differential depending on how many times and where the opponent is hit, as well as their resilience. There is a visual difference between the two, as if she goes straight for the powerhouse, her fists would spark with an aura that looks like its crackling with lightning. With the numbing effect, they'd see a fire-like aura.

With greater power and speed, her previous abilities are obviously increased while gaining much more destructive capabilities. The sword returns to the fray in the shape of a giant blade, much like a zweihander which she seems to swing around with ease. Despite gaining the blade back, she still retains most of her fighting through her body. As destructive and overpowering this bankai may be, it's dangerous to stay in it for too long.

Depending on form, the longer the battle goes, the more straining it can be on her body in all aspects that it increased. Pushing too far can damage herself and even render her unconscious, and if much greater, lead to drastic injury or even death.

Background: Kairi never remembered much of her past in the world of the living, but in the Soul Society, she grew up from the beginnings of her teens in the worse-off districts of the Rukongai. Often having to do menial chores or thievery to those who denied her to get food, it was common of her to get into some fights. Most, she'd win, some she didn't. However those scraps of food were becoming more and more of a burden to her than a haven. She needed to eat more without feeling hungry in shorter spans of time, and that itself caused more issues, more fights.

She wasn't happy with any of it, despite getting a kick out of the fighting she had done. Most girls avoided her for that, both for causing trouble and in slight fear. Boys wanted to pick fights to show who was boss, only to find their tails tucked between their legs and kept their distance from her. She grew lonely rather quickly.

Eventually however, these particular reasons were what revealed her to some scoutings that the Shinigami from the Seireitei had undertaken. She was offered to join on more than one occasion, but refused twice albeit reluctantly of her own pride. On the third, she finally gave in, convinced that her life would be better to join them, atop of still retaining who she was.

The academy was rough for her to take on, often finding trouble with Kido. Despite that, she more than made up for it from her resilience and immense willpower to keep fighting. She wasn't satisfied to be seen as someone weaker than somebody else, unless it was something understandable in the difference of power, like a Captain. Her rugged attitude often got her into fights both in the academy and afterwards in other squads, but she never let the consequences get her down. She loved fighting, albeit half of them were caused by stupid reasons from the opposite party.

It was likely her attitude, along with her fighting style and habits that got her into the 11th division in the end. A perfect fit for her. There were always others ready to fight, to get stronger or to just show off. She loved to knock people like that down a peg to get them more 'grounded' to reality. Seeming to have a goal in mind to drive her forward, it was just knowing the fact about the stories of Kenpachis always meant that they were the strongest of the shinigami, something that always thrilled her when she'd hear it. Ever since, she's always had it in her to someday be able to fight on par with her captain, wanting to find the fight of her life, and she knew full well that if she ever grew strong enough, people like her Captain would be able to grant her wish.

Mask: Officially it's the eyepatch. Cosmetically, she wears a mask much like Halibel's underneath the collar of her attire but can remove it at will.

Abilities:
-Able to fire ceros from her hands and mouth, as well as possessing the ability to utilize Cero Cornea - a cero not as powerful as ordinary ones, but fired from the eyes and is much faster and harder to detect
-Strong Hierro rather than regeneration
-Balas are a hot pink color (more of a detail really)
-'Berserk' - Intense will and adrenaline (along with her 'psychotic' personality) in fights will keep her going through fatal wounds until it all but wears off. Afterwards, the extent of her injuries will come flooding back into reality if any recieved.

Sealed Abilities: The weapon otherwise acts like an ordinary greatsword however if it causes a STAB wound, the area affected can be plagued with a strong paralysis. For example, if someone was stabbed in the arm, they likely could not use that arm for a short while without extraneous effort to overcome the paralysis.
Resurrection Abilities: Horns appear behind her head and a skeletal-like armor takes shape covering her body, wide, bony wings spreading from her back. Each 'bone' sharp and jagged, followed with a long, thin tail with a two-pronged fork at the end. Another interesting factor in this, most of the segments are blackened and the mask that takes over her face encase the entire right and upper left portions. The place where the 'eyepatch' resided turns into a cracked 'scar' with a yellow eye within. At best, she'd look similar to a gargoyle in a way.

Despite the usual increase in speed as is with most, her power thrives in the dark. The less visibility there is, the more potent she can be. Her tail can provide a powerful paralyzing agent if struck in a vital area. The darker the place, the stronger she grows. In this sense, reiatsu affects her more strongly in the dark.

Personality: Always looks angry, somewhat ill-tempered, mouthy, psuedo-psychotic at times and extremely prideful. Despite these things, she respects honor and opponents who show it.
Creation Story: Like most of her kind, not much is remembered of her past as her mind cleared enough for rational thought once she became an Adjuchas. Once that happened, she found a goal among all the devouring, to gain more power with a purpose. She spent several years below within the Menos Forest, watching how the circle of life for hollows had gone. It was a vicious cycle, where those that were weak were destroyed and those that were strong thrived. It was no different to the circle of life we all know, but as it went on between sentient and not-so-sentient hollows, it only fueled an anger within. She was a victim of it as a predator to her prey but deep within she strives to fix that cycle.

Before becoming a part of the Espada, Kurono had long left the Menos Forest for what lie above. She sought out those that were both weak and strong. She observed those she found interest in, to know their motives and how they acted. To those who showed a genuine form of malice, she fought them to see their resolve. If they failed, she killed them. To those who were weak, she protected those that simply wanted to find a purpose, rather than being someone's meal, tired of being cowardly.

Perhaps this is what brought the attention of the Espada to her. Whatever the case, she was one of them eventually.

Background: Kairi never remembered much of her past in the world of the living, but in the Soul Society, she grew up from the beginnings of her teens in the worse-off districts of the Rukongai. Often having to do menial chores or thievery to those who denied her to get food, it was common of her to get into some fights. Most, she'd win, some she didn't. However those scraps of food were becoming more and more of a burden to her than a haven. She needed to eat more without feeling hungry in shorter spans of time, and that itself caused more issues, more fights.

She wasn't happy with any of it, despite getting a kick out of the fighting she had done. Most girls avoided her for that, both for causing trouble and in slight fear. Boys wanted to pick fights to show who was boss, only to find their tails tucked between their legs and kept their distance from her. She grew lonely rather quickly.

Eventually however, these particular reasons were what revealed her to some scoutings that the Shinigami from the Seireitei had undertaken. She was offered to join on more than one occasion, but refused twice albeit reluctantly of her own pride. On the third, she finally gave in, convinced that her life would be better to join them, atop of still retaining who she was.

The academy was rough for her to take on, often finding trouble with Kido. Despite that, she more than made up for it from her resilience and immense willpower to keep fighting. She wasn't satisfied to be seen as someone weaker than somebody else, unless it was something understandable in the difference of power, like a Captain. Her rugged attitude often got her into fights both in the academy and afterwards in other squads, but she never let the consequences get her down. She loved fighting, albeit half of them were caused by stupid reasons from the opposite party.

It was likely her attitude, along with her fighting style and habits that got her into the 11th division in the end. A perfect fit for her. There were always others ready to fight, to get stronger or to just show off. She loved to knock people like that down a peg to get them more 'grounded' to reality. Seeming to have a goal in mind to drive her forward, it was just knowing the fact about the stories of Kenpachis always meant that they were the strongest of the shinigami, something that always thrilled her when she'd hear it. Ever since, she's always had it in her to someday be able to fight on par with her captain, wanting to find the fight of her life, and she knew full well that if she ever grew strong enough, people like her Captain would be able to grant her wish.

I see. So you simply put it there as a Hypothetical, in case they eventually gain one. ^^
 
Mostly yes, it helps remove the potential issue of having to come up with one if you've not thought of it already and prevents any loss of info if you've had it saved anywhere. You know?

And just because I have the details up there, maybe she'll never learn bankai? Who knows. It never hurts to have the details ready rather than non-existant to have to wrack your brain again to come up with another idea, etc etc.
