Personality: Fujimaru is friendly, and is almost always willing to lend a hand. He places a high amount of value on teamwork and his comrades, whom he won't hesitate to protect if he thinks they need it. While he can be fairly laid-back, he will serious the fuck up when the situation calls for it. However, underneath his jovial nature, he holds a great amount of self-doubt and worries constantly over whether or not he's worthy of his Captains haori. While he prefers to be honest, he also He likes to help people, and it's not uncommon for him to go into Rukongai on his off-time to aid the various districts (especially 80th, given how terrible it is over there).
Weapon shape: Unreleased, his zanpakutō looks fairly generic, with a blue hilt and standard square hand guard. His shikai is a blue gauntlet with the blade of his zanpakutō extending out the front, as well as two curved blades on top of it. Here's a picture. His bankai takes the form of a normal zanpakutō except the blade is an energy blade. It also gives him a tiger shoulder-guard, fur covering on both of his shoulders, and a pair of energy "slashes" hovering behind his left shoulder plus a pair of stylized energy-infused circle over his right. He also gets a scarf-esque cloth extending from the tiger, a pair of gloves, and a leg coat thing held in place by a cloth belt. Again, here's a picture.
Weapon name: Ryūjōmaru; Kokyū Ryūjōmaru
Shikai (Or first release): Ryūjōmaru boosts Fujimaru's speed and erases the cost of Shunpo, allowing Fujimaru to strike extremely quickly.
Bankai (Or second release, when applicable): Kokyū Ryūjōmaru boosts Fujimaru's speed to extreme levels, allowing him to attack several places at once nigh-simultaneously and move quickly enough to create after-images. However, the outfit that comes with his bankai is the only thing that allows him to move at such speeds unscathed; without it, he cannot go at full speed without risking serious injury. As Kokyū Ryūjōmaru's blade is made of energy, it is much better at cutting/stabbing things, and Fujimaru is able to change it's shape to an extent.
Squad or whatever: 5th Squad Captain
History: Fujimaru lived in one of the less dangerous districts of Rukongai with his twin sister Matsuri, living in a shack they had made fairly livable. This changed when a hollow called Mad Eater attacked the district, bringing with him a small number of hollows and devouring a fair amount of souls. The hollow was driven off by then-Captain of 5th Squad Seigen Suzunami, but not before injuring Fujimaru when the young boy tried to protect his sister. Taking pity on the twins, Seigen brought the two back to the Seireitei, where they were healed by the shinigami of 4th Squad. As he had brought them there, they were deemed Seigen's responsibility, and he (along with his sister Konoka) all but adopted them. After a few days of living with the Suzunami's, it quickly became clear that Fujimaru and Matsuri had unusually high reiatsu. After a long discussion between all four of their surrogate family, the twins decided to become shinigami and repay Seigen and Konoka's kindness.
After making their way through the Academy, Fujimaru and Matsuri joined 5th Squad. They eventually became seated officers after awakening their zanpakutō, with Fujimaru becoming the Seventh Seat and Matsuri becoming the Sixth. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. One day, when Konoka was helping a tea shop in Rukongai, several hollows attacked. While they were eventually defeated, Konoka did not survive the ordeal. Seigen went mad with rage and grief, and quickly decided that Soul Society was at fault for not reacting fast enough. He defected, fled to the human world, and disappeared.
After hearing about what happened, Fujimaru became obsessed with finding Seigen and snapping him out of his insanity, in the hopes that what was left of his family could still be together. To this end, he began to train extremely hard, taking lessons/advice/regular ol' beatings from anybody and everybody willing to take the time to help him. During this time, his visits to the 4th division became far more frequent. Eventually, Seigen revealed himself and Fujimaru confronted him. After a brief skirmish, the high emotions, heat of battle, and extreme amount of training finally culminated in Fujimaru's attaining bankai. The battle was joined in earnest after that, and eventually Seigen was defeated and brought out of his insanity. However, the former Captain's own guilt demanded he make amends, and Seigen committed seppuku to atone.
Fujimaru was crushed by his utter failure, and came to doubt his abilities and worth as a shinigami. However, he had proved his strength to his superiors with his victory over Seigen. After a decade of refining his bankai, he was eventually made the Captain of 5th Squad. He has since sworn that he will make himself worthy of the mantle, no matter how long it takes. It is the only way he knows that he can repay Seigen, Matsuri, Konoka for failing them so miserably.
Other: Fujimaru is one of the possible main characters of Bleach: The Third Phantom (a.k.a. the DS rpg), albeit modified so he'd fit in the rp, so he's not really an oc. I don't know if that's allowed or not, so I thought I'd mention it.
