Bleach: Fractured Souls (IC)

Half an hour had passed as Hanabi would have told Kairi she'd see here there. The captain by no means took her time getting there as she ran all around the Western District of Rukongai searching for the damn warehouse building with the number of 45. As irritated as she was it only made her that more excited once she'd finally found it, screeching to a halt just before she passed it by. She quickly began walking towards its which had a presumed door man standing out front letting the occasional person in after a password. Hanabi was by no means disguised and was easily recognizable. This would be clearly indicated once the door man noticed the 11th division captain approached and immediately started sweating bullets.
"Wait your---!"

Was all the poor soul was able to get out before Hanabi kicked him square in his gut with her sandal hard enough that the man impacted the double metal doors and dented them. A groan of pain emanated from the man as well as a clang of bending metal would could be heard for those inside the warehouse though more muffled of course. The captain only grinned and kicked a second time in the same spot on the man as the metal doors now fell inwards with a hard clang; the man standing outside laying on his back upon the fallen doors with leaks of blood rolling down the corners of his mouth.

Hanabi entered the building with a wide toothy smile on her face and took a good look around at the scene. "So these are the fuckers who decided to have some fun and didn't think to invite me." With that she looked down at the makeshift pit that had the clearly out matched individual along with the muscle brain hammer wielder. "You look strong enough~" Hanabi spouted as she pointed as the muscular man before jumping down into the pit; landing between the two fighters. Seemingly in a rage the large man charged forward and swung his large hammer right towards the captain's head from the side with a roar. Probably to the shock of some of the onlookers Hanabi simply raises her one left arm and back hand blocks the hammer, stopping it dead with a loud clang.

The captain's grin continued to grow as her eyes seemed to give off the energy of some monster as she stared straight into the larger man's eyes who was now visibly shaken by the display. "Was that it~? Come on you gotta hit harder than that if you're picking fights you fucking weakling!" She taunts before swinging her fist straight into the front of the hammer and shatters the head of it completely. "Try not to die too quickly alright~" The 11th captain taunts again but was more so meant for not only the large man but also to any of those who had the guts to hop down into this pit with her.

Wreaver had been silent ever since entering the World of the Living, keeping his thoughts to himself as everyone starting pairing up and splitting off, he eyed the groups, mentally debating with himself before taking long strides behind Ikeda and Maekawa, who were apparently moving towards the graveyard, not to far from his regular book store.

He kept his eyes moving, not expecting any trouble but also slightly hoping for it, the prospect of fighting something new exciting him, though his calm composure never betrayed the thoughts that rumbled within him. As they walked he stopped at a nearby store and bought a drink, sighing in content as he drank. When they arrived at the graveyard it appeared the other two captains still hadn't noticed him behind them, though he really hadn't tried to make any small talk with them, they stood in front a Hollow that had slinked in front of them and stood in what it probably thought was an intimidating stance.

It was now that Wreaver decided ro announce his presence to them all, a ghost of a smile on his face as he stepped forwards. "This one isn't our target, just look at it. It's not nearly powerful enough. But i could certainly use a warm up before the real work begins." he said as he came shoulder to shoulder with the others, eyes blazing with a fire that matched the small smile that was slowly growing on his face. He brought his drink up to his lips and consumed the last of it before crushing it in his hand, throwing it over his shoulder and rolling his neck, feeling the joints pop and stood ready in anticipation.

"Shall we begin?" he asked noone in particular.

Issan Warehouse, 45th West District - Rukongai

It was around the same time that Kairi had been amongst the crowd. Although most would have found it difficult to believe the bluenette amazoness could hide, she was doing a fairly good job in the getup she wore. ~So many more people in here than I first expected.. All those nobles, cackling like pigs. Then some of the other spectators, their eyes show a lifeless cold. A look mistaken for a wolf's..~ Narrowing her own eyes, a red gleam shimmers from the light refracting on them. It was here that Hanabi had begun her little show entering the pit, a low chuckle escaping Kairi's lips, followed by quiet words to herself as she enjoyed what was beginning, "So my friend.. Shall we teach the sheep not to wear the dogs' skin among true wolves?..."

Captain Kurenai - 8th Div
Outside of Issan Warehouse perimeter, 45th West District

Overlooking the area as clearly as she could, Kallen eyed the warehouse from where she stood upon a rooftop, hand resting gently upon the hilt of her zanpakuto, "I'll let the others have their fun inside.. We can't afford to let any of the big fish slip away now, can we? Though, I suppose it may have been entertaining to watch such barbarism at play.. Oh well. Perhaps the fox will have their own fun..." Smiling to herself, the fox woman looked off towards the sky, in the direction towards more of the outskirts as the outline of forests could be made out further beyond, "But for certain, even with numbers, and even cancellation of our zanpakuto.. The last thing they'll want to do is try and corner a wolf. They won't be expecting Captains and Lieutenants, but it won't be easy for us either. Oh I wonder, just how many people I can.. 'Interview,' about this 'Ring...'"

Maekawa had tagged along with Wreaver, who was behind the two and Ikeda who stayed in the Gigai. The graveyard was the perfect hunting ground for a hungry hollow, looking for lost souls that weep over their families mourning them, and if the Hollow was strong enough, to eat the families that visited themselves. The walk was quiet, none of the Captains speaking to one another as they progressed through Nagoya and towards the Graveyard.

The setting rather morbid with large trees encompassing the surrounding of the graveyard. "We should-" Tora was interrupted by the sound, and pressure of a Hollow. Off in the distance her eyes focused on the creature that licked its fingers.

Wreaver stepped forward, ready to fight the Hollow as if it was some meager prey. No. Something was different about this Hollow but Maekawa couldn't quite put her finger on exactly why something wasn't right with this Hollow. "It would be for the best if you and Captain Ikeda take care of this." Even with the limiter placed on Maekawa, she was the strongest of the three and in the case of the limiter being removed she would decimate the graveyard and surrounding area with the release of her limiter.

"I shall provide support with Hado." She was straight to the point and monotone with her choice, or orders as a certain young Captain may see them as.

Fifth Division Captain yoshitaka
Issan Warehouse

Yoshitaka arrives at the warehouse seconds after captain Kempachi.
"Ah captain Kempachi.." Yoshitaka says before looking away just as she greets the doorman with a kick."im sure if you just play dead she will sto..." Yoshitaka takes a deep breath before looking away just before Kempachi unleashes another kick. "good work Lady Kempachi" he says as he follows behind the red haired captain as she enters the warehouse, Yoshitaka looks around the warehouse before making his way towards the Nobles seats. As he passes through the spectators he turns to look at Minori who just happened to be standing in his path "you look lovely lady Tachibana, im sure the man of the hour will appreciate it" Yoshitaka says not really bothering to stop as he passed by.

"no no, please , sit down and relax" Yoshitaka says to the spooked nobles as he takes a seat next to them.
"Let us at least enjoy the show"

The Shinigami that the Hollow was approaching turned to face the large beast as it hopped from rooftop to rooftop. Then that damned Shinigami turned on his heels and began to run away! The act of turning his back to him caused an eruption of a roar from the Hollow's mouth and followed, catching up rather quickly. Jumping from the last rooftop onto the Expo Center, the Shinigami seemed to be pleased with this and decided to attack him.

The Zanpakuto was swift, but not strong enough as the blade clattered and bounced off the armored body of the Hollow. The heavy, bone plated tail raised up before stabbing out from around the Hollow towards Hajime's chest.

"So disappointing...another weak soul to feed on." The Hollow spoke lowly, disappointed that the Shinigami's attack didn't even leave a scratch on his body.

After the tail attack, the Hollow leapt towards were Hajime would land in the attempts of crushing the Shinigami underneath his claws and pin the mobile creature down.

World of the Living
Odd shipments? This was human's territory and manner of using this 'technology'. Did that mean that humans were the ones who had made these shipments? He was confused. Why would humans bother ordering these things? They couldn't see Hollows, normally.

"That's-"

Then the power went out. Shuzo cursed, he'd been so focused on lowering his reiatsu, he'd completely forgotten to adjust for the lack of any ambient reiatsu in the World of the Living.

Releasing it just enough to sense the monster above, he noted how powerful it seemed to be. Not terribly so, but still it was worth not fighting it alone if they didn't have to. At least the Lieutenant had the sense to try and get reinforcements. Still, it attacked Hajime and not the bait. This boded very, very poorly.

"As you command, my lady,"
Shuzo said with a casual wink.

She'd probably go back to terminal if he wasn't watching, but at the same time she didn't seem interested in damaging her gigai prototype. He never did understand why people like those kinds of gadgets...

Just like that he was up the stairs, climbing, climbing... with a flick of the wrist and the magic words, Shuzo extended his small tanto into a worth spear, trailing ribbons as he climbed with shunpo.

Shuzo arrived just in time to see the beast leaping through the air, with all the deadly grace of an apex predator. Without hesitation, Shuzo tore his spear through the air moving it quickly to create a scythe of air towards the creature, and using shunpo to appear next to where it would land, spear braced against the ground to let gravity do all the heavy lifting for him.

"For Hollows disappearing in this town, I've sure encountered a few already today..."
Shuzo said, and turned to Hajime. "Let's take this thing out quickly. I have better things to do than entertain Hollows all day."

Thinking back to the earlier antics of Shuzo, it was perhaps odd that Kayami had looked into the humans, they likely had little if nothing to do with this incident, but few of her kind understood just how frighteningly powerful the humans had became, at least among themselves, or the fact even some of the Shinigami's ancient enemies were humans once before. The man had even noted it himself, so were most of they.

This Region was ruins so many years ago, not because of nature or Hollows and Shinigami running about, but as a nation far away was able to build gigantic flying machines made of metal that could rain explosives down upon the City, utterly erasing it. As one Human from a far away battlefield had remarked... "Make it Rain."

With a sly smirk to her face, the Humans were worth looking into, the day might come where they would need to be pushed a few steps backwards and if the inquisitive monkeys had learned of their existence, she had little doubt they would be problematic. If only for a few fanatics outside of academia.

"Ah.. I guess I'm getting a bit too carried away."

Upon reaching the top, she had arrived in time to hear the beast speaking, and to see the Captain defending the Lieutant with spear planted firmly in the ground, with the backdrop of a city behind them. A strange and absurd image, laughing outloud at the insane scene, she pauses, keeping the Candy near her mouth, contemplating what to do next...

Well what good her orders would do here and now..

"Ah how interesting! It speaks and seems aware.. A pity I cannot collect his head and discard the rest.. Dispose of it."

Taking note of the Acidic properties of the beast by the state of the surroundings, containing it would prove most troublesome. While a fine specimen, if it were indeed truly aware...

"Don't take it lightly-" Caught midsentence she would find out soon if the warning was warranted, for now staying in the distance with Soul Candy in hand was the best course of action.. A more important one to reflect on was in her mind however, why was such a seemingly powerful hollow in the world of the living?

LOCATION: The Cemetery Outskirts
TAILING: Ikeda (@EmperorsChosen) and Maekawa (@Artorias)

The Hollow stared at the three, trying to make heads or tails of the strangeness in front of it. So much time, locked in a cage... So much time, being prodded, poked, run through... When it had been let out, it just run. Run. Run so hard and far, to the nearest, fullest thing. And now - well, there were more full things, and it felt so empty.

These things, these heavy things, they chattered, and it didn't care. The words were like flies, gnats buzzing in its ears.

"Oh," it murmured softly.

And then disappeared.

Even shunpo would struggle to keep up with the speed. The Hollow moved so fast, even the senses of captains would have a hard time pinpointing the thing, and it headed for what it felt was the weakest, least full thing - the female, robed Shinigami standing at the back. Slipping between the other two with apparent ease, it dove - maw opened and brimming with fire - for the noble, ready to devour her, the pressure exploding into a ripple that threatened to crack the graves around them.

The noblewoman waited for what seemed like a while, her heart calloused enough to the hardships of those living in the Rukongai that she felt but a twinge at what was playing out in the arena. Surely, soon, the other captains would --

Bang went the doors, and in came Kenpachi, eyes blazing as much as her hair. Even without a discernible reiatsu, the menace wafting off of her was something to behold. Despite that formidable aura, Nori struck her forehead with a closed fist over and over, cursing her stupidity. Stealth was never the strong suit of the 11th division, and no one showed this better than their captain. Why did I invite her? Why, why, why, why, why?

She looked up, sure that the room was going to stream out like a tsunami as soon as she smashed the hammer of the big guy in front of her... only for the whole arena to cheer. Minori stared with her jaw hanging half open. Th-they're... they're betting on her! They think she's in on this whole thing! Doesn't really say much for her reputation... She, of course, recognized the big guy in there with her. While not a Shinigami, he'd been muscle for more than a few gangs in the area, and he was no slouch. The reigning Kenpachi would have to sweat just a little bit - but only a little bit. He'd give her a fight.

The massive man took a hulking step back, but he did not seem so much disheartened as wary of the fiery-haired woman in front of him. A cocky grin slowly spread on his face, and he rushed her, ready to grapple arms.

Meanwhile, Yoshitaka's entrance jolted Nori out of her shock, her eyes growing wide as her name was spoken - and immediately, the air around her seemed to stiffen as those who knew her name (she was a Lieutenant of Internal Affairs, by the King! Her name got around a little!) turned their gaze upon the two of them. The nobles were already evacuating, recognizing danger, and she crossed her arms.

"I believe you have me mistaken for --"

"Hey, you rats down there," said a voice from above, amplified somewhere in the building. Heads turned, while others remained enraptured by the fight in front of them. "Whoever brings me that lieutenant's pretty head gets 100,000 kan. If you get me that Captain - 250,000."

Nori blanched at that. Bastard! I'm worth at least 300,000 kan!

The effect on such a large amount of the Rukongai's least savory was immediate, however. The small fry turned to reach for Nori and the captain, but the lieutenant danced on top of the heads of those who would capture her, deftly trying to stay out of their reach. Unbeknownst to the three, there was at least one shinigami each in the crowd, though at present their eyes were turned on Nori and Captain Ishioka...

Meanwhile, outside, the Shinigami had begun to close the doors to the warehouse, locking the group in, while two or three of them dashed out to go back, passing underneath Kallen's gaze.

KASHIWABARA HAJIME

Curious, his blade bounced off of the Hollow. "Hard skin?" Hajime whispered to himself, but was quickly surprised by its reactio. Its tail moved, coming straight for his chest, but the lieutenant was quick enough to react, creating some distance between the both of them. Holding his zanpakutō firmly with his hand, he was ready.

Hajime had a confident smile plastered on his face, but only because of the hollow. This seemed like a challenge, and that was something he wouldn't back away from. The hollow was offensive once again, not giving him much time to prepare for what came next. "What?" It leaped, coming in fast.

However, due to his strategic move to their current position, both Captains eventually made it to the rooftop. Shuzo-san interrupted the hollow just in time, standing right in front of Hajime. Smiling, the Lieutenant spoke up. "Good timing, Kagetsuchi-san." Now it was two against one, but that quickly turned into a three versus one.

The hollow was outnumbered, and it was only a matter of time before they would get rid of it. "Yukimura-san!" His demeanor changed. it was rather uplifting now. More ready. Still, Hajime did not know much about the Hollow. It could understand them, and move accordingly. It seemed cautious. Something was really off here, and he was not the only one who noticed that.

Other than the fact that this damn Hollow could speak, it was smart? Questions ran through his mind, but he was quickly brought back to reality when Yukimura-san spoke up. "Mhm!" Nodding in agreement, they would have to work together to render this hollow useless. "What do you have in mind, Yukimura-san, Kagetsuchi-san?"

GOTO & FUYUKI
The hollows had been released. Everything was proceeding like planned. The Shinigami showed up, as expected. Goto was standing their. Having had their fill, the pigeons eventually flapped their wings and flew away towards the sky. "Fuyuki, lets take a walk." He smiled, and Fuyuki kept quiet, but nodded in response.

Thanks to their device, they were told that some of the Shinigami were close by. Would that one particular Shinigami be here? A question ran through Goto's mind. Walking down the park, he eventually noticed someone. Someone he felt didn't belong there. Standing, he simply looked around. Towards the trees, the many humans like him, towards unusual places.

He was able to spot someone, and looked away the moment he could pinpoint their location. These Shinigami were waiting for someone. They were at least looking in the direction of the young man a few meters away from Goto and Fuyuki. Approaching the former, Goto spoke up, making his presence known.

To the other Shinigami in the vicinity, this would look like an ordinary human asking another "human" for something, but it really wasn't, and they would soon understand why. "Hello there." Goto's demeanor was the same. The very same, genuine smile was plastered on his face.

Fuyuki was standing behind him, quiet and serious like ever. "Shinigami-san." He continued with respect.

"I'm glad you and your friends showed up. I was expecting you." Looking around, and over the young Shinigami's shoulder, he continued.

"Would you mind bringing your friends? I would like to meet them." Goto's eyes were closed at that very moment, before they slightly opened up again. One of the Shinigami was familiar. He had seen him before.

With a click of his tongue, Ikeda almost seemed inconvenienced by Tora's statement. To have to go in and out of the body—Maybe he'd just help beat it up and let Wreaver do the purifying. The gigai limited his abilities, but it was still far passed a human's capabilities. Any one of them could dispose of this symbol of gluttony, for all three to bother with there focus.

"Tch... What a-" Preparing to shoot out a gripe at the nuisance in front of the three, what occurred next brought the slightest expression of shock to even the young smartass's face.

The Hollow's reiatsu escalated, cracking the stone tombs around them. It charged forth at a speed he thought unfitting for a mere spirit, gliding passed the two in front to pursue its main target, Maekawa.

Widened eyes struggling to track its movements, Ikeda's surprise was quickly replaced with irritation. "-fucking drag!" Digging into his pocket, he produced one of the soul candies provided by the head researcher and tossed it in his mouth. Phasing through the corporeal form, the shell of a body dropped to the ground as Ikeda's spiritual vessel leaked out. Yukimura had warned them that exiting the gigai drained spiritual energy and advised avoiding combat for a short while, but while weakened it was better than the useless state the shell put him in. Hado was an option but with how it was rushing Maekawa, there was the risk of friendly fire or blasting humans in the area. Shakkaho was rather indiscriminate. Sokkatsui was similar and Haien—it's literally just fire.

Gripping the hilt of his zanpakuto, Ikeda charged forward with a rush of shunpo. Dashing to catch up with the Hollow, he was still rather slow and his reiatsu weak, but regardless a cut from his blade would cut it all the same. As he closed in on the beast, Ikeda drew Honokagatsuchi ever so slightly. The bottom of the blade hardly exiting the sheath before he once again vanished in a tempest of flash step, appearing to the Hollow's flank with a horizontal swipe. According to the damned scientist, it would take a minute or so to become nominal again, but surviving against this thing that long wouldn't be so difficult. He was still a Captain; trash like this thing were time-killers at least, nuisances at the most.

jmHU66L.png

The Captain stood back behind Wreaver and Ikeda, the latter seeming none to pleased to be chosen for the task of fighting the Hollow. Even with the strange presence Maekawa was feeling of of this creature, she couldn't imagine it would be a very long or tough fight. Even as she stood silent the Hollow moved at incredible speeds while Ikeda tried to catch up. It was coming straight for her, but she didn't bat an eye or change expressions. Ikeda was coming in from the flank but by the time he would arrive to strike the Hollow it would have already been attacking Maekawa.

"Bakudo number eighty-one." She raised her hand underneath the bell sleeves that she wore before a large rectangular energy barrier appeared in front of her. The Hollow would be stopped by the sudden barrier, Bakudo #81 was one of the strongest barrier spells, able to stop destructive attacks let alone some Hollow flinging itself at high speeds at her.

"Impressive speed, and energy. I'm afraid I cannot entertain you for too long, releasing my seal would cause too much destruction to the surrounding area." She spoke to the Hollow which seemed capable of intelligence, but perhaps it only knew select words and was mindless like the rest. Even if this Hollow was stronger than her initial thought, she couldn't run the risk of releasing the seal.

"Ikeda would you be so kind to deal with this nuisance?" The barrier was still up and holding, but she could quickly drop it and raise another if the beast decide to attack from another direction. She was skilled enough that even saying the number of the Kido was not even needed.

90aa10ae478e595d86a22844cf61d995.jpg

"Food...more food." The Hollow was able to stop in mid air as it had great control over its own body before landing on the ground, hungry eyes glancing between the Lieutenant and Captain now before the third finally made an appearance. They mocked him and his abilities. He would consume them all, break them down and eat them for power like he has done the others. A low, deep guttural growl rumbled from the beasts chest as it began to pace around the rooftop watching the group of Shinigami who seemed to be waiting for the Hollow to make the first move.

"Hunger...." It growled once more and continued to prowl, like an apex predator it waited for the opportune moment to strike. I would not attack blindly or without cause.

"I smell fear..." It actually couldn't smell anything, just speaking out of its ass to scare the young ones. To make them truly afraid of this unknown Hollow and to be on the defensive and not on the attack. Its skin was hard and its power continued to steadily rise, soon it would be too strong for the Captains to handle with a limiter placed on them. This Hollow was experimented on, tested and made to be capable enough of taking on Captains--yes plural.

Sighing with a sudden slump of her false body, leaking out her Spiritual Pressure, it seemed Kayami's reluctance had warrant. Her Reiatsu surged forth like an ever increasing wave of energy, Red and Blue swirling leaving it unclear which was the outline. Damaging the surrounding structure slight as the mod soul in the Candy worked at removing the Gigai from harm, Kayami indeed seemed unable to suppress her Reiatsu but to a small degree. Zapukoto forming at her side and being quickly drawn.

"Bakudō #62. Hyapporankan!" Extending her left hand a blue-white rod forms, being thrown at the beast, quickly breaking into dozens more before scattering about, driving the beast towards the center dome of the main atrium of the Expo-Center. "Shuzo, drive this accursed beast into the ground, once I've recovered enough we'll work together in holding it down. Haijme, assist with this task, reserve your power for a killing blow. Send a message, request our limiters are dampened, Quickly.

This beast I fear to be an Adjuchas, but not.."

With a persona as twisted as her Reiatsu Kayami smirks looking in the direction of the Lieutenant. "Don't look so shocked, now is not the time for titles and formality, kill this wretched beast. As to the release, I only intend to level this complex. If too many humans die, then I'll just get married I guess." She adds on nonchalantly.

"Such a grave threat, I calculated my risks and so it must be destroyed, while I love visiting this place, think of how lovely a new one might be!"

If this being was indeed an Adjuchas, it's presence in the World of the Living was a grave danger that drew more than a few questions, but it's self awareness left little doubt on what it was. While a prized specimen this one was simply too dangerous, no honor and pride was needed for a broken experiment, it only needed to be disposed of, quickly and efficiently.

Then once the source of the mystery was solved, if there was one, it would be erased too..

Looking expectantly at Shuzo as he own power grew she hoped he understood the threat an Adjuchas presented.

All unknown variables that I cannot control must be purged.. An impossible thing possible, the reality has been tampered with... my reality.. tampered, tampered, must solve, must break..

Reduce all to nothingness, pure... No.. study first, solve the riddle.. then destroy.

Deep from within, her Zanpakuto seemed to call out, liking this event very much so, calling out wishes that appealed to her internal nature, Kayami is curious how the other two would react, more so the Animal, Adjuchas or not, the creature was still stupid, following them to an arena where it would be trapped. A pity there were no crowds to watch the gladiatorial death match. Focusing her own rapidly increasing Reiatsu into the roof below, Kayami fully intended to give them the perfect arena to do battle in. With so few humans about they could battle to their hearts content within reason at least and the humans outside would be none the wiser as the structure became rubble.

Suddenly holding up her right hand, the blade changes form, from a Katana into a full length European Bastard Sword with strange horizontal segmentations spread across the blade.

"Gekokujo Collapse Order!"

Seeing things start up the way she did, Kairi was surely thrilled but she was holding herself back from a painful facepalm at Ishioka's belligerence towards blowing Minori's cover. Had this been training under the 2nd Divisions' regime, the Lieutenant would've already tried to beat the living ass out of the Captain. "Way to start things off.. Hanabi I know wouldn't enjoy stealth but this?.. oh well.. now that it's started, may as well get to work." There was something that unsettled the 2nd Lieutenant however. The crimes these men were undergoing were severe but outright killing them did not feel like the answer; as contradictory as that may sound for someone trained under the stealth force. Sure, Hanabi would definitely break bodies and bones, but dismemberment and the like seemed far from this situation. For Kairi, she sought the better goal would be to take those guilty alive to atone and receive proper judgement. Butchering them only gave them the easy way out, no time for them to reflect. Regardless, she supposed it wasn't said not to kill. "If it gets too out of hand, I'm putting a stop to it." With a sigh, Kairi pulled off her disguise and revealed her vibrant blue hair. Jumping down to the ring, Kairi flashed a grin as she motioned for any of the attackers to approach. May as well do what she can to flush out the big boys and help, right?

The bluenette had happened to jump into the middle of a group of six, two of them coming in for an attack straight away. Four of them had blades, or atleast makeshift excuses of such had they not been 'fellow' soul reapers. Brushing away a thrust with her fingers, the blade skimmed past her ear and grinned as she moved to the slip past a downward slash. These men would be sloppy in their performance, but it would at least entertain and challenge her. These men were not comrades to each other, and even if they had a shred of teamwork, real squad members wouldn't make such folly of their work. Reprimanding such mistakes, Kairi came up with a swift leg raised before she slammed it heel first into one of the men's cheek, shoving them against the other to crash into the dirt. Correcting her stance, one of the others moved to grab her from behind. Scoffing at that, she glanced behind herself as another tried charging at her with a knife. "Die soul reaper trash!"

Giving a dark smirk, Kairi moved to jab her foot into her assailants' greeting it with a nice crunch against wooden sandals. The air around her filled with a man's pained shriek as she then kicked up with her other foot, knocking the dagger the charging man held away, before bringing that foot back down as it hit his shoulder. Using it as a bolster, she lifted her body up and pulls her other leg up following. Shoving her foot against the man's chest, she toppled him backwards as well as throwing the man behind her off balance and to the floor. Rolling off from the momentum, Kairi still kept that damnable smirk as she stood up, finally greeted with a blow from the others. Taking a step back with her hair blocking her face, Kairi laughed as she raised it, wiping a small lick of blood away from her lips, "Got some good form behind that punch..." she spat on the floor and rolled her neck, "Go on and show me more, eh? Give me a warm up!"

An older man had walked up to lieutenant Kenta, along with a young woman trailing behind him. The older man was sitting on the bench and feeding the birds a moment ago. Yasuke assumed it was just a Grandparent and their grandchildren sharing a day in the out in the sun. However, the older man was sporting a lab coat, maybe he was some doctor or scientist of some sort? "What could this man want with Lieutenant Kenta? Maybe he was just looking for conversation. The elderly are always chatty I guess." Yasuke thought to himself.

Smiling at Kenta was an old man and his greeting automatically put Kenta on alert. He addressed him as a Shinigami, no Human should know that, with or without a Gigai. "You shouldn't start making demands of me. Explain who you are right now and how you know about Shinigami in the first place. Don't try to hide anything, I'll know." Kenta spoke with authority and showed no hint of worry while being faced with the people behind the missing Shinigami, they were just humans after all. Still, he would need to be careful, there's a reason why they're able to take down Shinigami. He raised his right arm and motioned with his hand for Aiji and Yasuke to reveal themselves.

Yasuke watched as the two exchanged words and noticed Kenta seemed to be on guard now. He then signaled them to reveal themselves which was unexpected. "This is surprising. Are culprits can't possibly be these two." Yasuke though to himself before complying with the signal and dropping his Kyokkō. With a simple shunpo, Yasuke appear right behind the two humans. "I'm not all too happy about where this is heading." Yasuke mentioned as he slowly placed his hand on his Zanpakuto and gripped its handle. If it comes down to it, he'll knock the pair unconscious so they can be moved to the warehouse. There was the likely possibility of others seeing, but Yasuke couldn't care less at this point. "So Lieutenant, you sure these are the culprits?"

"We're about to find out." Kenta's responds to Yasuke was short, but all that was needed. These two would be explaining themselves soon.

Shuzo caught notice of the other Captain appearing behind him, and grew faintly annoyed. Weren't they supposed to play bait and switch? Then again... this was the sort of Hollow they would keep tabs on. The fact that Shuzo didn't recognize it sat poorly with him. The timing was off too, Hollows were mostly gone from this town. Yet there had been demi-hollows and now this one, which was annoyingly powerful.

Did it eat the other Hollows? Was there some other plan in motion? Was there a greater mastermind in place?

Shuzo looked annoyed at the Hollow, more like a puzzle he couldn't figure out than a threat. Quickly, Kayami figured out a solution, pinning the beats with Hyapporankan and calling for their limiters to be removed. Shuzo nodded at the plan, and within moments was above the beast, his spear aimed for the center of the thing, regardless if it did damage or not.

The tip of the spear was impossibly heavy, a Hado spell in and of itself. Shuzo released the spear just long enough to stand atop the spear as the metal fell to earth, his hand extended at the Hollow below, palm open.

"Hado number 73, Sōren Sōkatsui!"

His chant was quick and efficient, and as he closed his fist, a long, golden chain extended towards the beast, wrapping the upper half of it tightly as Shuzo sat atop his spear which was on top of the beast itself, effectively pinning it down no matter what. The armor would be a problem though, but they had time to stab under the plates and see it scream. Screaming always meant that they had cut apart the armor of anything, and revealed their true weakness beneath. Sadly, torture was not an option, as Hollows tended to mindlessly seek their own destruction.

"Well, it seems like it's time to finish this thing off quickly, especially since I am irritated at this distraction. It did not go for the bait as intended. If it breaks free of this, I shall be extremely cross."
Shuzo spoke as he unleashed his reiatsu, no longer restraining it in the least. "I have better things I could be doing with my time, Hollow."

As ready as the others were to confirm the old man's suppositions, Aiji remained in place, highly suspicious. The tree leaves obscured him; it's not like a human should have the capability to sense them, right? On the other hand, what human knew the word "Shinigami"?

Kenta's going to get a talking to about tactics, next chance we have a moment, came the rueful thought. Challenge the accusation; don't immediately concede the point. And never reveal a teammate's location. What division was the boy in again? Not Aiji's own, and likely not the Second; Kenta would have known better.

Yasuke moved to assist the boy, confirming further the old man's accusations. He seemed rather self confident, the old man, and his silent companion only served to somehow add to that impression. But given the circumstances, that confidence was probably well founded. The old man had, after all, looking right up at Kusenagi, and no human would have any reason to glance his way otherwise. Fingers wrapped around his hilt, Aiji Stepped. There was little use in staying put, now that he'd been outed. His Shunpo carried him behind he humans, directly opposite Yasuke, placing them between the Captains.

"Who are you?" His voice was low; though he knew most humans couldn't hear a Shinigami, the apparent capabilities of these two present to do so made him paranoid of others in their proximity. "And how do you know about us?"
