Bleach: A New Seireitei

Not open for further replies.
It was a quiet day so far for Keitaro. He pulled some papers over to him and began to run through them. They were basic misdemeanor reports, most of them drunk Division 11 members challenging each other to duels outside the sanctioned arenas and Division 12 members letting their research projects get loose. But that wasn't the most challenging part of his job. In addition to being the law enforcement body of the Seireitei, the Ninth Division was also responsible for the newspaper that kept most of the Seireitei informed of current events. Keitaro also maintained a regular column in it besides the editor's column. He wrote short stories for the entertainment section. Under a pen name of course, Keitaro was far too embarrassed to let it be publicly known that he had a passion for the literary arts. He was musing over what sort of adventure to write about for the coming issue when the window shattered behind him.

Keitaro tensed as his eyes tracked the figure deftly flipping over his head and landing in front of his desk. Oh, it's only Takiko, he thought to himself. A short while later he thought, Wait, she broke my window to make an entrance?!? He stared directly at her as she delivered her message. It was a letter to the editor. He quickly opened it trying to distract himself from the very bouncy Takiko. It was a criticism about his stories. Something about a lack of twists and curves. He absentmindedly glanced at Takiko. Dammit, turns! Twists and turns! "Takiko," Keitaro began, "This is coming out of your pay." The words came out neutral, like Keitaro was neither surprised by Takiko nor bothered by her presence and actions. In reality, he was having a lot of trouble concentrating on anything besides the bouncing objects present in his office. Keitaro simply had a nigh inscrutable poker face, and his matter-of-fact way of speaking gave little away in terms of what he was thinking and feeling.

"Two weeks ago, you broke my door. Last week, there was a hole in my roof. Today, I need to replace a window," he continued, pausing slightly between each sentence. "Your pay has been docked. Many times. Yet these things continue. A different solution is required." Keitaro wrote a quick note on a nearby sheet of paper, folded it in half and stuck it in an envelope. He handed the envelope to Takiko, saying, "Deliver to Otonashi. I'm requesting your transfer. You'll pay for the window with your body." Keitaro waved a hand dismissively at Takiko.

Keitaro didn't realize the alternate meaning of what he had told Takiko until after she left. And had anyone been in the room, they would have seen the tips of Keitaro's ears turn slightly pink. This gives me an idea for a story though. A girl becomes indebted to a boy who asks her to pay him with her body. And she ends up helping him with a community service project! How's that for a plot curve!...Twist! Dammit!

Demita smiled faintly as Kurisu replied, she turning to look up to her. Seeing her walk up beside her, she forced herself to sit, then stand, though unsteady.
"I'm fine really. Normally this doesn't happen, but Hyō isn't normally this persistent with training.... And Otonashi doesn't usually call me in to substitute when I'm off training.... I'm just generally tired is all. But when it has to do with Toshiro, I dont mind coming in all that much. Its good for Otonashi, ya know? he needs to be with his mentor more." She offered a little bit of a laugh, a genuine one, happy that it made her feel better to do so. But at that moment of brief silence that followed, she heard the door to the office open, revealing the very Otonashi Arita that she had been speaking of. She offered a quick bow to the dark haired man, keeping her gaze low.
"Welcome back, Captain Arita. I trust all went well..?" She questioned as formally as maintainable, knowing that she really should have had more of the work done, but being so tired, she had to reread the papers at least once to make sure she got it all before signing, and even some of them she didnt have the authorization to pass on so she had to set them aside for her captain. Her murky brown eyes flicked about along the ground as she shifted her weight to her right side, still very sore on the left from training.

Kurisu Kurohime

Watching with steely purple eyes the Lieutenant as she stood up albeit tiredly and noticeably without complete balance. It struck a chord within her as she frowned softly, tempted to ask once more if she was okay. Though once that Demita stood properly she smiled slightly once again, her stoic features softened as she nodded. "I understand Demita-san" She stated, her hands dropping back to her side as the white sleeves of her uniform once again hid the nimble hands from view excluding the tips. Her posture softened in response as she blinked a few times, observing as the lieutenant headed towards the door. "Okay." Kurisu rarely spoke, finding more comfort in her thoughts but Demita seemed content and so she said nothing else, pushing her concern away as she brightened up even more.

The door was pulled open and the second squad captain was revealed, causing both her eyes to wide as her lips parted as if to speak. She was seriously to distracted to notice? At all? Frowning for a moment she mentally berated herself before her expression returned to normal. Kurisu really did miss her old days, though her time now was precious to. Inclining her head softly she held the smallest grin, eyes still the usual steely colour but now with a faint glimmer. Kurisu was definitely fond of her previous captain.
"Otonashi-taicho..." She greeted quite happily, still unconsciously calling her previous captain by his full title. Not that she had yet to even notice this, or recall being told about the habit. "How are you?"

Peering back for a moment she shuddered, that paperwork still remained and she pitied the fact Otonashi would be stuck doing it due to him being the only one in squad two to have the restriction to sign off on them. Kurisu turned her gaze back over towards the second squad captain with the same quietly happy expression. Though deciding to keep her place, Kurisu awaited the time that Demita and Otonashi were done talking to ask or join in. She didn't mind, watching the interaction between them both silently.

Otonashi took two steps into the room and closed the door behind him. Taking notice of the pair of women in his office. At first he saw Demita and smiled bowing his head in response to her respectful bow, "Yes... Although I feel sympathy for Toshiro... He has twice as much paperwork as I do." with a chuckle, Otonashi continued to speak, "No need for you to worry for yourself now Lieutenant... I've come to rescue you from my work. You may leave as you see fit now." It wasn't long before his eyes shifted and his head turned to face Kurisu. The moment his eyes registered her appearance, it was as if the Captain's shoulders lost their hold on his arms and dropped, as if his legs started to feel weak, as if his pupils became drowned in admiration. Watching her soft goldish hair and seeing those familiarly elegant violet eyes that pierced the toughest of men. He lowered his head slightly finding his face was growing a tad red, he uttered "K... Kurisu-chan... You came here to visit?"

Toshiro stopped writing and called out, "Juro!" and just as his office door slide open revealing a Male Shinigami with long raven hair and a redish-gold color in his eyes, Toshiro continued, "Will you take over the paperwork for me? I have something that needs to be attended to immediately."

After bowing on his knees respectfully, Juro nodded, "Of course Captain... Take all the time you need. I will be here working on your paperwork."

"Forgive me in advance for this. I am sure you could have many other things to do but... This is rather urgent." Toshiro stood and moved closer to the window.

"There is no need for forgiveness... There is nothing better to do Captain." Juro stood to his feet and got behind the desk taking a peek at the first paper on the desk.

"Thank you... Oh yeah... and I need you to send a messenger to retrieve Captains Nogitsune and Oza. Tell them to meet me at the Hills out by the Akiyama district." With that, the Head Captain leapt out the window leaving the soul reaper to go on with the duty presented to him.

Kurisu Kurohime

Eventually Demita was dismissed by her Taicho and she just waved slightly. Kurisu was glad the lieutenant would get a break from all the work that piled monstrously upon the poor desk. Yeah...she felt bad for her previous captain that he was going to be thrust into the work ahead of him. Blinking slightly she continued to observe the both of them with the slight grin, her eyes always being the steely shade, something that allowed her to show little weakness. Kurisu mindlessly stared at her fellow captain as his head lowered and stance relaxed, something that caused her to cock her head to one side with a curious gaze casting a gleam in purple, her lips parting slightly as she tried to work out why Otonashi stuttered of all things.

Believing she had come to a conclusion she raised a delicate brow, arms shifting so they were folded under her chest as she hummed.
"Otonashi-Taicho...was I not supposed to visit?" She asked honestly, her expression grim as it seemed to portray the untold guilt that appeared with the wrong thought about his reactions. "I apologize then...I simply thought that it would be enjoyable to visit my previous squad since I have finished my paperwork..." Kurisu mumbled, casting her gaze away.

Kurisu eventually noticed the slight red and she seemed to become frantic, appearing in front of him as she glanced up with narrowed eyes.
"You are red." She stated with concern as she flashed a small frown. "Are you ill?" Even since her departure she strangely missed chatting with the second division captain...on that note she missed being around him all together. Not that her mind put two and two together, mostly she just believed it to be her missing her past life without paperwork tormenting her. "Ah...I might of given you my cold..." She added with a small grimace as she reached up, brushing her hand against his forehead with a frown. Yes, Kurisu was considerably dense, unable to notice things without people being painfully blunt.

So far, Makoto had gone through about twenty minutes of wall hugging from the 4th but retracing her steps wasn't so easy when the only thing guiding her was memory. It probably would have just been best to try to get an escort or ask for directions but her measley pride wouldn't allow it despite allowing her to look like the blind fool she was, keeping both hands on the wall and moving at a snail's pace. Whenever she had to leave the wall to make it by an adjacent road, she had to carefully aligh herself perpendicular to the wall and she'd walk very carefully with her hands out like a zombie so she wouldn't run into it. Surely even in this she was being an embarrassment. The thought made her cringe. No one who passed said a word but it felt like the snickers and smirks that may or may not have even existed were boring holes into the back of her head. It was about then that a body came flying into her, sending her flat on her back. There was a mass jumbling of apologies which identified the perpetrator as most likely a bullied member of the 4th. It was a brief encounter that she usually dodged but it was part of every day life. Her thoughts wandered for just a moment but that moment was enough.

"Completely lost my bearings," she groaned, looking around for a landmark out of habit but it was obviously useless. Cringing again, she realized that she was probably going to have to swallow her pride and ask for some help,

Hibiki already had the upper part of his body free when the rods disappeared, only to forced back down to the floor by a flying Kokie that latched onto his chest. Had it been any other shinigami that had pulled such a stunt, he would have pummeled them. As it were though, Kokie was his rival, his friend, and his partner and the captain couldn't stay mad at him for very long. Just mad though; he could still be annoyed.

"Kokie.." he said trying to interrupt the bubbliness, "Kokie...KOKIE!"

It was starting to get a bit difficult to breathe with how tight the other captain was squeezing him but Hibiki could easily break that; there were reasons he wound up Lieutenant in the Kido Corps despite Kokie being more adept at kido. Wriggling under Kokierra's grasp he got out from under the younger man and brushed off his hakama with a few short sweeps before grabbing Kokierra in a headlock and rubbing his head with his knuckles vigourously.

"Now Kokie, what have I said about laying your traps in the places we sleep? What did I say? Did I say that we don't do that because it can destroy our stuff? I think I did. Now why did you go and do a thing like that Kokie?"

He let the other captain go with a laugh and a kiss on the cheek.

"Good work though on it. Excellent execution of Hyapporankan. Though I'd be interested to know where the crest in in power versus quantity. With a few of those traps you could flood an area with rodsa nd guarantee a pin."

"Uh... no... no of course not Kurisu-chan... I am not sick and you didn't give me any sickness." Letting loose a sigh of relief and allowing his blushing face to fade back to his pale white skin, Otonashi collected his senses and placed his hand on the woman's arm as a gesture of kindness. Using his other arm to lure her vision to his desk, the Squad 2 Captain offered her to sit with him. He walked with her to his desk and pulled the chair out for her to sit in it. Waiting for her to sit, he then moved around his desk and sat down himself. Taking a hold of the fude in front of him and starting to write, Otonashi would every now and then look up to see Kurisu. Strangely enough, Otonashi wasn't just looking at her appearance like most, he was actually looking at her. Observing her face and gazing in her eyes whenever he got the chance. In fact, he was getting more paperwork done just from her being there. However, Otonashi along with Kurisu didn't notice at all this occurrence, "So... I trust you are doing well in your division... how is everything?" he asked her warmly.

As Hibiki and Kokierra interacted among one another, a shinigami who's membership originated from the 1st Division showed up around the corner, "Uh..." after exposing his presence to the pair of captains, he dropped to his knees and bowed to them, "Sorry... captains Hibiki and Kokierra... Captain Hitsugaya has ordered for the two of you to meet him at the Hills outside of the Akiyama district... He says it's urgent and that he expects to see you both before him immediately..."

Kokierra's bubbliness was broken when Hibiki popped himself away from Kokie's death grip. As soon as Hibiki grabbed onto Kokie, the latter instantly tried to get away, having an idea of what was to come. He let out a flurry of mumbled protests and tried his hardest to break from the headlock. Physical strength... Something Kokierra greatly lacked and there was no way he would be able to get away from Biki, but he could sure as hell try. Kokie huffed when he was let go, letting a pout cross his face, but it was replaced with a slight giggle as his cheek was kissed.

"It wouldn't have destroyed anything... you just wouldn't be able to pick anything up."

After the fierce nuggie, Kokie's hair was a complete mess and he petted it and ran his fingers through it, trying to straighten it out again with a pout on his lips. He was mumbling something about his messy hair, but not much was audible. After his hair was as good as he could get it, he grinned up at Hibiki before he spoke again.

"I'm not sure either. This was the very first time I tried to use that trap, so I'm gonna start up a trial-and-error run soon enough!!"

Before he could continue, a Squad 1 Shinigami presented himself. Urgent news from the Head Captain? Would Kokie have to be semi-serious for once? With a nod at the news, Kokierra spoke.

"We will be there momentarily. Thank you; you are dismissed."

Kokie then turned to Hibiki with that loving grin on his face.

"Sooooooooooooooo, ready to go?"

Shizuka thought long and hard as she still sat by the sakura tree, eyes looking high into the clouds as her hoari fluttered in the wind around her shoulders. By now, her cup of tea was delivered to her and she gave her thanks as she now takes a calm drink of it, pondering over recent events.

~Among others we have treated as of late, Makoto's the most concerning.. I'm uncertain what Captain Otonashi will plan for her now that this has occured, but I guess that's none of my business.. Still, it's nerve-wracking that I couldn't do anything about it for the poor girl.~

It was likely after that thought that she looked away from the tree and the clouds, towards the hallways she sat upon. Blinking a few times, she saw a stumbling Makoto blindly trying to navigate through the 4th Division barracks. Sighing out gently and moving to stand up, she quietly approached Makoto, "I see you are out of bed.. Feeling any better, Makoto?"

"Peachy. What are you doing all the way out here, Captain? I already checked myself out a while ago," Makoto answered, still trying to feel around to get her bearings but no matter how she might try to sugarcoat it, the fact was that she was already lost and probably not even all that far from the 4th. As it stood, she figured the chances of her making it back on her own was close to zilch but if she didn't do it on her own, therek was no point. It wasn't just a matter of getting there but proving to herself more than anyone else that she could somehow manage it on her own. If she couldn't, all it meant was that she was that incapable of doing her job. As she was, she was about as helpless as a crippled human.

"Can you-" she started but stopped, swallowing the lump in her throat, reminding herself once more that if she couldn't even manage this, she might as well give up.

Kurisu Kurohime

The woman sighed happily when she knew he was not ill due to her presence, more importantly that she hadn't in any way harmed her previous captain. Her lips strayed from the stoic frown as she grinned slightly, lips curled elegantly at the sides till warmed purple orbs seemed to settle upon her captain. For once she seemed to not adorn the cold expression she used. "I'm glad, Otonashi-Taicho." She murmured, hand resting upon her chest as she felt the calm once again was through her. "I would hate to be the reason you got ill." She quietly added, her head tilted slightly as she relaxed from her previously hyped state.

Kurisu complied as she gratefully settled into the seat he pulled out for her, leaning back within its comforts as she placed her hands upon her lap, fingers idly pulling at the hem of the captain's haori that stood clearly upon her black uniform. Watching as he sat she bowed her head thankfully, smiling slightly as she did. She was silent in watching him complete his work, occasionally flickering her gaze to the office to study a place she was once familiar with when reporting or being assigned work. Though that seemed long ago. Perking up when his voice rang in her ears she turned her gaze to him, blonde locks flickering around her as she snapped her head back to him.
"Hm?" She asked, gathering her wits. "My division is going along well. My Lieutenant is quite helpful. He has helped me a lot with some of the paper works and some of the more...loud members."

With a gentle sigh she shook her head, thinking to the few members which commonly shocked her she turned her attention back to the captain before her.
"Overall..I am glad to be their captain." It had not been long but she adored her division despite the mass of paperwork they occasionally caused her. On that note... "I do hate the paperwork though." She hissed, reaching up to cross her arms under her bust as she huffed, narrowing her eyes back to her usual steely gaze, this time with annoyance in them. "It's a tiresome task that consumes far to much time." It was easy enough to complete, just boring as hell. "Though, Otonashi-taicho, How have you been?" Pause. "I wanted to visit before but I was working..."

The presence of the Squal 1 shinigami was exactly what Hibiki wanted to avoid. He had fully expected that someone would need him as soon as he stepped out and with it being the Captain-Commander, it couldn't be very good. That Hitsugaya need both him and Kokie was also disconcerting. They were rarely needed together and only on matters of extreme importance. A glimmer of a scowl crossed his lips before he smiled to Kokie.

"You know I'm always ready," he said, punching his partner in the shoulder lightly.

His form blurred and he was already gone, having used shunpo to dart outside and land on the railing. Balanced precariously, he grinned at Kokie.

"Well come on."

He blurred again and was gone, heading towards the Akiyama hills.

Otonashi listened closely to Kurisu's words and would nod after each expressive sentence. Continuing to write down on the paper, each stroke being as proper as the next. However, when she offered the return of his own question, the captain's strokes was halted completely. The sound of the brush stopping and the room making silence the loudest sound imaginable. Otonashi's eyes were dead locked just gazing down at the words on the paper, his mouth straight and closed. Moment after moment passed until finally, his hand lowered and the fude was laid down beside the edge of the paper. A sigh escaped Otonashi, breaking the silence, "Kurisu-chan... I must be honest with you..." he couldn't sit and had to stand up. He allowed his legs to shoot him up out of the chair and Otonashi pushed it into the desk and turned himself to face the window. He reached out with his arms and leaned forward gazing out into the open, "I can't help but feel that I'm losing too much. Since you've left, things have been turning for the worst for the second division. As a matter of fact, I believe it started with you. I recommended you for captaincy because I saw so much in you. I put forth the vouch for you because I felt that you deserved it... and I still believe that. However, not a week after you were made captain, Haru was requested a transfer to sixth seat in the division and I accepted... Haru was a good man and he did magnificent in this squad, I had a feeling that he would make it good no matter where he went, so long as he went higher than he was before. Then another week passed and then another request was issued and sent to me... This one was about Sora, and I was starting to feel differently. Not in the sense that Sora deserved greater, but that I was sending away a member of my squad. I didn't have too much time to think on it and I found myself accepting the transfer."

Otonashi continued, "Over time I realized that I had lost three amazing members of my squad and they'd been replaced. And though the replacements are just as good, I feel it deep within my heart that I miss those that left the division immensely. Two days after Sora was transferred, the incident with the recently arisen Arrancar occurred. It resulted in the death of an entire team of squad 2 soul reapers. Makoto was blinded by a massive blast of cero before I intervened and saved her from joining her comrades. Now another two days later and I'm being sent words, questions, and requests about transferring Makoto to a division that 'best suits her condition' and I must say... I am appalled at the realization that I'm losing more than what I'm gaining. I miss you Kurisu-chan, same for Haru and Sora... and now people are criticizing my decision to keep Makoto in the division. I see great potential in her and I'm going to keep her in my squad and prove to them just how capable she is. I'm going to tell you Kurisu-chan... to answer your question, I have not been very well... And if I get another letter that even has a synonym of the word 'transfer'... I'm going to show the sender why my Zanpakuto means 'Burning Raven'..." Otonashi spoke with a sudden unintended aggression in his voice and he calmed down a tad before turning to face Kurisu with a smile... "Other than that, I'm perfectly fine!"

Meanwhile, Toshiro was sitting down, legs crossed on the plain grassy ground at the very tip top of the highest hill settled to the east of the large town-like settlement. This was the Akiyama district. #158 out of the 320 Districts of Rukongai. He seemed so peaceful and quiet. His zanpakuto, Hyourinmaru was settled on his back while his eyes were closed shut and his hair was flowing in the breeze of the high wind. Such a lovely place it was here... Though Toshiro wasn't too happy with this secret that he'd been working to keep from the majority of Seireitei. Hitsugaya continued to rest easy with each strong but steady and gentle breath. He appeared like a wise man settled down and meditating for hours on end. The Head Captain had been waiting for the pair to arrive. He was as patient as he could be waiting for his two helpers to arrive.

Demita nodded and rose when given her answer and promptly left to give the two captains their space, heading off to her own special spot off in the hills and rolling planes, a place that was actually fairly close to where she lived upon having first come to soul society. No one ever really bothered her here unless it was something 'important', and whoever that person was, they had better hope that she had enough control to not try and slice them to ribbons. Such a reaction is so far from her natural attitude and expression, however, that most wouldn't think to have such caution. The most anyone has ever gone away with was just a few harsh words and threats. The shinigami, still looking to be in the late teens early twenties, had decided to walk the whole way there, something that was a little out of the ordinary for her, but she didn't care. Its best to change things up every so often. Though that wasn't really the reason she had decided to do so.

A gentle breeze played with the tall blades of grass, bringing a scent reminiscent of spices, one that brought a faint smile to the young shinigami's face as she slowly sat herself down on the side of a hill, looking out along the planes before just laying back and shutting her eyes, resting for a while, taking her sweet time and enjoying the peace and quiet. Even so, she couldn't relax completely. Tension was brushed from one blade of grass to another, infecting every cell of her body. Something just felt off... She had had this feeling for quite a while now, but by this time it was just plain out annoying her, constantly distracting her and inconveniencing her. Such unease had even spread into her training with Hyo. It was something that she would normally ask Otonashi about, but she had assumed that it was just her being overly sensitive or paranoid again. But something lasting for this long surely wasn't just that. He had to feel it to... Her sigh broke the near silence as she sat herself up, then stood, looking in the direction in which she had come. She didn't want to have to walk all the way back just to talk to her captain, especially if he was still talking, so instead, she just continued to walk about in the open, hoping to wear off her uneasiness before she would have to return.

"Heeeeey, no faaaaiiiir!!"

Kokie huffed as he shunpoed himself onto the railing opposite of Hibiki and took off after the other Captain.

Hibiki ran across the rooftops with great speed, a speed that would leave Kokie in the dust if he tried to run. Because of this, Kokie chose to shunpo as he raced with his fellow captain to the Akiyama Hills. They were practically right next to each other the entire way, Kokie's shunpo speed matching that of Hibiki's running speed. Sure, Kokie was a little tired just as he was sure that Hibiki was.

With the speed they were moving at, it didn't take them much time to reach the tallest hill in the Akiyama range of hills. Stopping at the bottom of the hill to look into the eyes of his opponent, both Captains grinned at each other before taking off again.

Because of Hibiki's speed and the oddity of using shunpo at such an odd angle, had Kokierra landing in front of Head Captain Hitsugaya not even a second after Hibiki's feet landed.

Not letting the loss deter him at this time, Kokierra saluted with a grin on his face while Hibiki stayed silent.

"Squad 8 Captain, Kokierra Oza reporting for duty, Head Captain!"

Between the two of them, Hibiki knew that any sort of foot race would be close. While Kokie was better at Shunpo, he lacked the ability to change his footing easily which gave Hibiki a few precious seconds more. Combine that with Hibiki being able to go straight through and not have to worry so much about going around thanks to the same skill. He made it just barely before Kokie but it was still a win by either of their standards. Unlike Kokie, though he wasn't nearly so formal or talkative - his partner had pretty well said everything that really need to be said.

Toshiro didn't open either of his eyes and just remained in the position he was. Allowing his mind to continue the strategies in his head, the Head Captain took a moment before replying to Kokierra, "I expected the two of you to have arrived earlier than you did... But no need to worry, if I wanted speed, I would have asked Otonashi to be here..." Standing himself up and finally allowing his eyes to open and look upon the two men he asked for, he continued, "I've asked the both of you here for a surveillance mission. I need the south and west side of the town to be lined with Kokierra's non lethal traps. Hibiki, you are here for support, company, and protection as the more traps Kokierra makes, the more he's taking out of himself and this mission calls for a lot of traps considering the size of the town. I want the both of you to keep focused and serious about this. It is an important matter and it can't be ignored... There are nine souls I want you to be on the look out for... each of which are rather unique in appearance. I can't describe them all to you, but look for one soul in particular and you will find the rest. He has very long raven hair and reddish-brown eyes and has a tendency to not wear shirts. He is rather attractive with pale smooth skin so be on the look out for that as well... both of you. Do not engage them or intervene if they go beyond the border of Kokierra's traps... you are to alert the outpost immediately and send word to me is that clear?"

Meanwhile, as Demita was out for her training session, a man of the exact appearance as Toshiro described was resting himself on a large rock. He was asleep mostly but was awakened by the presence of the Lieutenant and sat himself up. Keeping himself concealed from behind the rock, he peered his head around the obstacle to observe Demita. His eyes narrowed as he watched her from afar. Momentarily after about half an hour, the man decided to step out from the rock and revealed himself be speaking out loud with a calm, cool, and smooth masculine voice, "Well, you are quite passionate about your skills... I'm impressed at the sight. Such heart, such desire in your eyes with every swing..."

Demita did eventually stop in a large space that was surrounded by large rocks, a place that for some reason reminded her of her life before death. Her fingers trembled slightly as she lightly bit her lip and closed her eyes. Taking a slow, deep breath, she released her blade from its sheath and took a fighting stance, opeinging her eyes again and visualizing her fears, attacking with a cold fire that burned within her bones, compelling her every movement. A slight shift in her periferal vision, however, swung her whole body in that direction, blade held to a point as if she were to strike, having blurred fiction and reality. With a faint sigh, she sheathed her blade and relaxed her stance to speak with the man, though a little confused by his pressence out here.
"Thank you for such kind words, but... Might I ask why you had been watching..? And why you were out this far from any town at all..? I do know some souls live out here as I myself had when I first came, but its rather unusual in my experience."

Kurisu Kurohime

She remained idle, attentive amd wide eyed as she carefully took in his words, mind blank. He rushed through a list, her heart sinking slightly with each name that added on. To be honest, Kurisu was speechless by the end but few could tell since she herself was normally one of few words. Lips parted as if to mutter apologies but was silenced seconds after, lips firmly pursed as she huffed. "Otonashi-Taicho..." she murmured, staring at the smile upon his lips as purple wavered cautiously. "Why are you smiling?" She questioned with a curious gaze. "You obviously are upset by all of this..." Kurisu stated with a slight frown marking her features. "Next time you are upset I will come and find you. I dislike seeing such an expression on taicho's face after all" Kurisu being kurisu honestly hated seeing a man she deeply respected weighed down under so much turmoill after all.

Deciding talking further into it to much would upset him further she just decided to rest of Makoto. "So makoto got injured...what are you going to do taicho? " she asked, body leaning forwards as she was beyond curious by now. She doubted he would give up on her but...something unpredictable could always occur. She was concerned for her health as well. "The pressure for a transfer must be a lot... I doubt anyone would presume she could continue soul reaper duties while blinded." There was a pause before she shook her head softly, leaning back as she adjusted her uniform. "There probably is a way through..." she hoped anyway.

Kurisu was honestly stumped on how to cheer Otonashi up, suprisingly it bugged her more than she initially thought. A slight scowl took over the normally stoic look as she stood up, arm folded once more as she stared at her previous captain with a resolve filled gaze. "Otonashi Taicho."
