It's not exactly the season of gift giving, but I think it's close enough. I've a simple question, which is what is your favourite gift(s) you've received in your life? Even if you're not a fan of receiving gifts, I think most of us have enjoyed at least one or another. For the poll, consider the gifts you're receiving as things you want — as the kinds of things you can tell people put care and effort into, not just receiving a gift to receive a gift.

For me, one of the best gifts I've ever received was when I had a friend compose a song for me. Unfortunately, it is lost to time, and it has been more than 12 years, but I still remember the delight it brought me. There have been other gifts I've received which have been absolutely wonderful — for my 16th birthday, my siblings did an art piece of a character I was obsessed with at the time, and for another birthday, I received a Corvo Attano mask, both of which I keep on my bookshelf even after all these years.

I voted "Yes" for the poll, because while I can sometimes get anxious about receiving gifts (especially if it feels like a lot in a short span of time), I also know that those are the kinds of gifts people want to give, and that if they know you well enough to give you that kind of precious gift, they definitely enjoy giving it to you.

I think friendship is the best gift I've been given. Also the zombie tools brand apokatana sword my husband @Fluffy bought me is a very close second.

The first gift that comes to mind is just as much about HOW the gift was given as the gift itself. I was about 6 or 7 years old, and my dad, a pilot, was coming home from work early Christmas day. Our parents told us that Santa meets with pilots who work on Christmas eve, and those pilots get to help him give the gifts to their families. So my dad got to MEET SANTA and brought me a cowgirl barbie (which even came with a horse!). I'll never forget it! The idea that my dad had personally met and HELPED Santa was the coolest thing in the world, and the magic has lingered even since I learned a couple years later about Santa not being real.

On a different note, there was a "gift" I gave myself a few months ago that actually ended up helping me a lot. I bought a giant stuffed pig in an effort to heal my inner child, and it worked way better than I thought it would. That gift to myself brought me so much joy and comfort and I genuinely believe that my inner child has been better for it! Not as exciting as getting Santa involved, but still notable at least in my mind since it had such an impact on my mental health!

One of the best gifts I ever received is a shamshir, my favorite type of sword.

Another would be every occasion I've received a panda bear plushie.

I also have a really cool Sith holocron.

I love gifts. Giving them is nice, and receiving them is nice. c: Especially if there's a sentimental meaning to it. Or if it is related to my interests, at least. My dad will just buy me witchy stuff, for example because he knows how much I love it. He doesn't understand anything about witchcraft, but he supports it. xD

My best gift was the 2013 Nissan Altima my grandmother gave to me once she no longer needed it. That should tell you where my interests lie gift-wise. Anything else I really want I can buy, or work to get the funds for. So if you want to give me a gift, it's best to go off of what I need or could make the most use of.
