Berkeley: Seen by the Unseen

The Beginning​

[BCOLOR=#010101]Many teenagers all around the world have been developing powers recently. There are some who can read mind, some who move things with their mind, and some who can see the future. Each and every power is unique and has its own little flaw, but the government is going crazy and trying to figure out why teenagers are developing these powers. They're poking teens with needles in hopes of finding some connection, but as far as they can see, they are random and there is no power. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#010101]Seeing this as a good thing, the government welcomes the teens to a facility to learn more about them and offers them a place of safe keeping. They learn about a few different teenagers and began to stick them in on government jobs to use as a new weapon. That is until a huge star comes right for the earth and burst open, but isntead of hurting anyone, it takes a few people. These people are random also, but the government targets the unique teens as a threat, and begins to worry. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#010101]In confusion of this, they hurry to capture and/or kill any teenager who has or shows signs of developing odd or extrordinary abilities. Scared and confused, many teenagers, with and without abilities, began to flee and look somewhere safe. Somewhere where they will not only be accepted, but they will feel accepted. A place like [/BCOLOR]Berkeley.

Berkeley​

Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]is a very unique place that not many people know about. That's because it only shows itself to the ones it wants. If it wants you there, you will be able to see the massive castle on each map you look at, and it is told that a trail will be shown to you to lead you there. Because [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]is not seen by many, the people who are inside are well protected and cared for. The only question is by who?[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#010101]Inside of [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]there are many different things going on, but the number one goal is to protect its people. [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]is not a house, but it is a city that has unique powers of its own. When it wants to be seen, it can show up wherever it is needed, whether it is in Japan or America. When it wants to be kept a secret, it makes itself dissappear. For thousands of years, this city has lived off of the power of these teenagers who have been able to do and learn these unquie abilities. Yes, it has happened more than once. In fact, exactly every 100 years this same routine happens again. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#010101]The people inside of [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]is what makes it keep running, but recently it has been failing. The flowers are not growing back in the springtime, people without powers and who are not called to [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]have been able to see it, and the more it travels each day, the slower it gets. It's obvious to the members of [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]that something is obviously wrong, and it all started the same night as the star hit the earth and burt. Even the people who have lived in [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]their entire life have never seen anything like it, but it's up to the new set of teenagers to now save not only [/BCOLOR]Berkeley, [BCOLOR=#010101]but the world too. [/BCOLOR]

The Story​

[BCOLOR=#010101]When the government officials begin to notice that the teenagers are disappearing and are no where to be seen, the forces become more and no one will rest until they have the teenagers. While searching for the unique powered kids, one by one, each government official who ever came in contact with the teens are disappearing along with the ones already gone in the ball of light. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#010101] [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#010101]The remaining government officials blame this on the kids too, and are convinced that they are working with a larger power. Whether it be some kind of god, the devel, or who knows what else, they believe that there is no hope for them and begin to push the human population into safe keeping, trying to save them from the enemy, not realizing that the enemy was really themselves. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#010101] [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#010101]Each teenager who receives a new ability was visited in the night by none other than the future. They have a mission for them, but can't let them know who is giving them these abilities. Each ability would come in use for the future war that would break out against the government and then people of the world. At the end of the visit, each kids mind was swept and was left with only fragments of that night, including their new ability. Now they are stuck to decide which side they would be on. [/BCOLOR]

Dorms​

[BCOLOR=#010101]Each dorm is set up in such a way. There are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, one kitchen, one living room, and one dining room in each hall. The males and females will be split up into different halls and each gender has four halls (unless more are needed.) Each person who comes into Berkeley will be assigned a class and school based on their abilities.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#010101]Once placed into a class, you will be with other people and you will spend eight hours each day with them. The only exception will be with the Advanced Special Ability who only attend class for five hours a day. Your class will learn to bond and get to know each other's abilities. There will be times when your class will spend the day testing out each other's abilities and learning attacks and counterattacks, along with blocks and other techniques that are new. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#010101]If you are part of the first four classes, you will be in Berkeley High. If you are in the top three classes, you will be in Berkeley University.[/BCOLOR]

Berkeley High​

[BCOLOR=#010101]Berkeley High offers teenagers all different options of classes. Aside from having the normal classes such as math, science, languages, and history, the high school has various classes to help the students learn and control their different abilities and their weaknesses. It has war training classes to teach the students to defend themselves and how to use their powers, and it also goes as far as to offer classes to help the students understand the other abilities and sometimes hosts games for the teenagers to use their abilities against each other. In Berkeley, age does not define what grade you are in. The way you control and learn your ability does. As a new member, you will be places in the freshman class (9th). With more improvement you can quickly go up your grades in months and could, but doubtful, graduate soon. You could be 17 and a senior in the university, or you could be 21 and a freshman in the high school.[/BCOLOR]

Berkeley University​

Berkeley University [BCOLOR=#010101]is the college for any member of the [/BCOLOR]Berkeley [BCOLOR=#010101]community. It has many different majors, and although it does not give the members an ability to use their diplomas in the real world, it allows them to use it in the city. It also has various classes like the high school, and is a step up on helping it's students learn as much about its abilities as possible.[/BCOLOR]

Nega-Ergokinesis
User can create, shape and manipulate dark energy, usually drawn from inter-dimensional or other similar sources. It can be channeled to a variety of effects such as an absence of light. The dark energy can be manifested as a solid, gaseous, and/or liquid substance that can be shaped in various ways.
Unlike Darkness Manipulation, which draws from the similar source, dark energy focuses on direct, destructive, and violent aspect of the spectrum.
~Advanced~
Once the user understands where they draw their source of power from, they can open "dark portals" to a dark energy dimension. There they can store tools and also summon dark beings, but it is ill-advised to do so as these beings are very difficult to control.
~Limitations~
This ability is extremely destructive and difficult to control, especially during emotional distress. Unless the user has gained complete control, the ability will slowly eat away at their own life energy. It literally sucks the "light" out of them and will eventually kill them if they do not learn to completely control the power. Since it is almost impossible to gain this control, most users die before the age of 40, depending on when the ability manifested. Also, the less life energy the user has, the more difficult it becomes for them to control the power.

Above all else, Vanessa is observant. She would rather watch others play the game than play it herself. She believes everyone to have an ulterior motive unless they have otherwise proved her wrong, which is very difficult to accomplish. As such, she is considered to be rather pessimistic and even sardonic. She has a very unpredictable personality at best, taking shit from others one day but beating the crap out of them for it the next. People often avoid her for the mere fact that she gathers information on what makes people tick and does so quite easily, sometimes without even doing so purposefully. Because of her plethora of knowledge on people's mannerisms, tendencies, ticks, etc., she can be a bit egotistical. While she doesn't hunt around for people's secrets, she knows how to elicit emotions out of people. This makes her rather manipulative. However, what most people don't realize is that she's extremely loyal to her friends and family. She will do anything to protect their trust, making this her greatest strength and weakness. She would never in a million years betray someone she cares about. Furthermore, when among friends, she is actually much more energetic and caring than when she is among others.
History
Vanessa grew up in luxury, not wanting for anything. Her parents loved her appropriately so, eating meals with quiet conversation. It wasn't a glamorous life, but it wasn't boring, either. She was a carefree and obedient child, living her life and enjoying it. She loved to draw from an early age and was quite talented, too. She was a normal, albeit extremely rich, kid.
All of that changed on her tenth birthday. No one is quite sure what happened. Police found young Vanessa sitting in a corner of the living room, staring glassy-eyed at her parents' bloody corpses. They'd been killed by unknown means, and Vanessa was shipped away from her home to live with her equally, if not even more, wealthy grandparents.
When school came back around, Vanessa was nothing like the carefree girl she used to be. She was rebellious, unyielding, and chaotic. Within her first week, she'd already gotten in two physical fights, both of which she had started. Her grandparents had to pull some strings to keep her from being suspended, but they pulled her out of the school anyways.
They then kept her home and had her tutored, much to her displeasure. Needless to say, she scared off many of them before her grandparents finally gave up all together. Sending her off with enough to last her six months (rather stingy, since it was basically pocket change for them), she was left to fend for her own for almost a year before she stumbled upon Berkeley.

User can manipulate any technological construct (i.e. computers, robots, hardware, etc.) to their will. This includes, but is not limited to, activation, deactivation, reconstruction, deconstruction, augmentation, programming, or scanning.
~Advanced: Technological Empathy~
User can communicate with technology almost like humans would communicate with each other, allowing the user to understand the construct's abilities--including its limitations--and malfunctions. This allows the user to use any piece of technology almost perfectly, as if they have been using it for years. The stronger the empathic bond between the user and the technology, the easier it is for the user to use the technology.
~Limitations~
The user cannot control purely mechanical constructs with no electronic or ferrous compounds. This ability requires close proximity to the object manipulated, and the user can only manipulate connected objects all at once (i.e. they must be connected either by an outlet, hardware, etc. for them to be manipulated simultaneously). With technological empathy, the user risks becoming less and less human and more like technology (i.e. an emotionless robot) by using this ability. It is possible to stay human, but it can be difficult with frequent use of the ability.

Erin is often described as being very forceful. She speaks her mind when she wants to speak it, and she hates being put under the usual "nerd" trope. She believes in the unique quality of everyone, and she also believes that everyone has a side of them they don't want to show. As such, she usually gives people the benefit of the doubt and doesn't hold grudges. However, that doesn't mean she's naive. If she disapproves of your actions, she will tell it to you straight, making her quite blunt about her thoughts. She's also not perfect, and it's quite easy to tell if she doesn't like you because she'll likely say so. However, despite her extreme honesty, she is quite enthusiastic about people and life in general--she genuinely wants to be friends with her peers. She's also quite funny, cracking jokes that cause a good laugh all around. Though it may not seem like it, Erin is rather sympathetic towards people's feelings and personal thoughts, making her a reliable confidante. She won't tell people your secrets, and you can count on her to give you honest advice.
History
Erin grew up as the fifth child of Adelina and Erik Wilhelm, two young German lovers who got married within months of meeting each other and then moved to America. She had always found their story of love to be rather romantic, though that was probably because her father embellished the story quite a bit. Her four older brothers always teased her as she grew in age, but they remained fiercely protective over her as well. The main thing they teased her for was her love for computers and technology of all sorts. Classic nerd, right? She didn't tell anyone that she could...hear technology. Almost like it was speaking to her. As such, she became rather protective over simple things like computers and even calculators, and she was bullied heavily for it. After all, who actually talks to technology like it has feelings?
Her parents became rather concerned after a while. At first, they just thought it was Erin's version of imaginary friends. But, as she grew out of that age, they began to think that maybe their daughter really did think she was hearing voices from technology. Trying to keep the whole thing quiet, they told her to stop talking so openly to her...friends. Erin, who was only 8 at the time, did not fully understand why her parents didn't want her to talk to her friends, but she obeyed them. They then sent her to a nice lady who asked her lots of weird questions and then made her take these big pills. She heard the lady talking to her parents, saying it was...skits-o-freneea? (She later learned the actual term and its meaning)
And so life went on. The voices were much quieter, but they never went away. It wasn't until she was 14 that a boy dropped her favorite laptop computer (it wasn't hers, really--it was the school's). The screams she heard from the technology were unbearable, and she raced over to it. Without even thinking, she placed her hands on the scattered pieces of hardware. In the blink of an eye, the computer was put back together like new, and it was no longer screaming.
Many things happened all at once. The police came; kids were staring at her absolutely petrified. Erin, holding her calculator close, listened to its voice. It told her to run for dear life, and she listened.

User can withstand extremely high and low temperatures that normal humans would not be able to survive in for more than a few seconds. The user can also adapt in darkness, enhancing their vision and even darkening their skin color to blend with the environment.
~Limitations~
It also takes about ten minutes for the user to fully adapt to the environment, so immediately walking into a -15 degrees Celsius environment with no coat is ill-advised.

James can easily be described as outgoing above all else, talking to anyone and everyone he meets just because he can. He is also rather flirtatious, willing and able to pick up any girl he finds to be cute. His flirtatiousness can get out of hand at times, however, so some believe him to be a total dick. His friends know him to be clever, able to make a good comeback without even thinking. That being said, his brilliance has its limits: he is not very academically inclined.
One of his major faults is his temperamental attitude. It isn't difficult to aggravate him, and he doesn't exactly hide his anger. However, James makes up for his temper through his loyalty. He would never intentionally hurt his friends, and he would always be there when they need him. All in all, he's a kind, outgoing person who probably just needs some anger management classes.
History
James grew up as the infamous son of Marie and Frederick Chandler. From day one, he was expected to be the best. After all, he would eventually inherit his father's multi-billion dollar company "The Chandler Group." He was pushed harder than any child should be. Failure was never an option, and punishment was always severe. It ranged from meals being taken away to actual beatings, though the latter was far more common.
Just as he entered middle school, he discovered that he was quite different from the other children. Rather, he found himself able to breathe underwater after spending about ten minutes in a pool. Even stranger was that in cold weather, he felt just fine in shorts and a t-shirt--whereas everyone else would be bundled up in coats and mittens.
His parents were absolutely horrified. They sent him to as many doctors as money could buy, but they all said there was nothing wrong with him. No noticeable mutation, no disease...nothing. With no other alternatives, they shipped him off to a special medical facility that was basically the Mayo Clinic's evil twin. It wasn't some horror film asylum; it just felt more like a prison than anything else. After staying there for several years, Berkeley revealed itself to him, and he happily escaped from that place.

User can change their appearance, stature, etc. into that of another person's. The user can also take on their voice. In order to mimick someone, the user must be looking at them or have a clear and complete picture of them in their mind (no vague details whatsoever).

User can take on some of the capabilities of the person they are shifting into. This does not include powers. Rather, this applies to physical, human ability only.
~Limitations~
The user can be discovered if they have a different speech patter than the person they are mimicking. While the user can mimick voice inflections and accents, it is possible for those who know the person well to realize that the user's patterns are likely different. Furthermore, the user can only take on physical ability, not mental knowledge. So, if the person mimicked knows martial arts, the user would have the muscle built to perform martial arts but not the knowledge to perform it.

When people first see Devin, they pass him off as a rather shy teenager who hasn't really figured out what do with the whole "socializing" idea. They're half-right. In reality, while he may be rather awkward, Devin is quite cheerful and optimistic about life. He takes everything in stride, refusing to let one little thing drag him down. Because of this, he is very easily motivated to do something that even remotely interests him. If you take the time to befriend him, you learn that he is extremely trustworthy. He will keep any secret close to him. He is also quite intelligent, and people are often surprised by his random witty comebacks. But even with wit, Devin is admittedly a rather goofy and strange person. But how could you not just love him?
History
Devin grew up in a normal family. His parents weren't abusive or rich or alcoholics or even drug addicts. They were normal people, and he was a normal kid. He excelled in school, jumping ahead one grade within the first couple of years. However, when he was in the fourth grade, his mother came in to wake him up for school and found someone completely different in his bed. Actually, she found herself in his bed. His mother, thinking she'd gone crazy, screamed and woke up the whole house. Devin awoke and shifted back to his normal self, and his mother fainted. At the hospital, they quickly deduced she had some sort of psychological shock. No one knew why until she woke up and screamed when she saw her son.
Two weeks later, he was shipped off to an orphanage, his mother unable to handle seeing him without having a mental breakdown. His father, who loved his wife more than his son, regretted putting him up for adoption but also knew that his wife would never return to normal if he didn't. He went through foster family after foster family, becoming far more introverted than he was before.
As time went on, he learned the reason behind his mother's psychological breakdown: his power. It terrified and exhilarated him at the same time. Shortly after, he stumbled upon Berkeley and ended up deciding it was far better than his negligent foster home.

Over view of powers:
Eadlyn can use ice (yes like Elsa) so she can make anything out of ice, both static and dynamic, but not only that she can freeze things to her hearts content.

Advantage:
Eadlyn can basically create anything to her hearts content (as long as she has the imagination). She can make it static or dynamic. She can also freeze enemies if she would like. Extremely cold places have no effect on her, and Eadlyn can easily go outside in a blizzard wearing shorts and a tank top and she won't feel a thing.

Disadvantage:
Eadlyn has a hard time controlling her powers from time to time, and sometimes small little things such as ice birds randomly pop up. Her body also has homeostasis and so if it's a hot summer day, well basically Eadlyn is freezing cold and she has to wear winter clothing. Also those who are close to her or she considers close, she cannot freeze for the life of her.

Eadlyn is an extremely goofy girl, bouncing all around and not being able to settle down, most people believe that she had ADHD (which she doesn't) but is always proven wrong. The girl loves to tell stupid jokes and lame puns, getting a kick out of them even when others just roll their eyes and tell her to shut up. She's very optimistic, always looking at the brighter side of things, knowing that it'll get better. She believes that most have a good side unless proven other wise and she always tries to remember (if people are rude to her) that some have probably just had a bad day and need to be alone. Eadlyn is very caring and loving, as well as loyal and she could be compared to that of a dog. She's willing to take a bullet or anything for a friend of a close loved one, leading her to be rather reckless from time to time. Because of her energy and optimistic attitude, this tends to make her extroverted and she will literally go up to a stranger and ask if they can be friends. However, dont let this bubbly and bright girl trick you, she's very sensitive and puts on a brave face. If someone yells at her and calls her terrible things, doesnt invite her to a party of something, she'll simply smile and say it's fine but when she's at home, that's when she'll let the tears fall or she wallow in misery by herself.

Eadyln knew she was different, so did her parents but they never said anything. Growing up, Eadyln never had anyone by her side, or anyone to hang out with her. At this time she didnt know she had her powers, but she knew that most people didnt like to hang out with her because around her it was always cold. Some teachers had even asked for Eadyln to stay home for fear of getting other children sick. She was the little girl that would play by herself in the park, get bullied for being a weirdo.

Though that never really bothered the small girl. She learned to block it out and just treat everyone with a smile and she could always go home and cry about it. As she got older, her parents noticed that she was colder in the summer and warmer in the winter and that was something they couldnt understand either until Freshman year. While getting angry and finally snapping, Eadyln had frozen a rather popular girl in her spot. Boy was that a story to tell. Everything seemed to have gotten worse for Eadyln and her parents pulled her out of school to home school her.

Overview:
Adaline has complete and utter control over the senses of others (sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste) and she can alter them freely and manipulate them. If she chooses to, she can enhance, reduce, remove temporarily the senses. Or she can help heighten the senses. Adaline also has the ability to cause the target to sense things that aren't there or remove it. For example, if she was fighting against someone evil, she could make them feel as if there was a dangerous animal fighting with them as well.

Advantage:
She is able to not only protect herself but others as well, since she can indeed turn their opponents blind of needed. Those she deems her enemy, she can control anyone's senses within quite a wide radius. She can make people feel things even if they aren't there (say she made someone feel like they were trapped, then they would feel trapped). Adaline can also help her teammates by enhancing their senses, making it easier to fight.

Disadvantage:
Again Adaline can only target those she deems her enemy, she can not hate someone and try to attack them if she heart truly does not find them to be her enemy. People who have enhanced intelligence are also able to defeat her abilities, but it's not only that. If she made someone feel as if they were trapped in an elevator, that is only what it feels like in the target's mind, if they are aware that they are not trapped then it doesnt work. When Adaline heighten's her teammates senses, it also diminishes her senses and so it in the end makes her more vulnerable while it makes her comrades a little more powerful.

Adaline, despite the confidence and attitude she gives off, is extremely guarded and cautious. Because of her past, she tends to keep a wall up around her heart, making sure that no one could get in. She is very honest, almost to a fault and the way she comes across, most tend to think she's just being out right mean. She can come across as harsh, say you ask what the dress looks like on you or something she can easily bite back with 'It would look better on someone else' and that can be considered rude. She sees no issue with being honest, though she will admit she could let others down a bit nicer sometimes. Adaline is extremely stubborn and what she wants, she usually gets, mostly cause others don't want to deal with her, but that was her old family and some would believe that she is extremely spoiled, but that's quite the opposite. When she wants to be, she can be quite manipulative, using her looks and her body in order to win the guys over, and her charms to maybe win the girls over from time to time.

Most would call her a loud mouth, not knowing when to shut up, to which Adaline simply states that they are jealous of her confident. She is very confident in herself, and she doesn't care what others say about her. If they hate her, then they hate her, it's not like she lives for others approval to begin with. She's very brave and she is honestly the type of person that would run into a burning building just to save another person if needed, but this leads her to be rather reckless. She doesn't take anyone's crap and she's ready to call some one out on their bull crap if she feels like it. Because of her rough around the edges look and attitude, most believe that she's a bad girl, doesn't care, smokes and drinks all day and while it may be true that she drinks from time to time, Adaline is much too involved in her sports to actually ruin her health. She is actually a very athletic girl and she constantly has to be moving.

History:

Poor Adaline, she never even had a shot at life. When she was born, she was born four weeks early with many healthy problems, so much that rather than giving her up for adoption, her parents just abandoned her. From that day on she was put into an orphanage and when she was adopted, she was adopted into a rather rough family. The father was an alcoholic, the mother was a drug addict and don't even get started on the brother. They must have been a good family if they managed to adopt her, but some where in the years something went wrong. As she grew older, Adaline realized everything that was wrong, the times she would hear screaming, sometimes her drunk father would slap her, few bruises here and there, a black eye. Nothing too big, at least that's what Adaline thought. However her teacher thought otherwise and called social services and she was taken away and put into a foster home.

From there, she was constantly moved from place to place, losing hope and ready to give up. Nothing was ever really right. That was until she came into a fairly rich family. They were lovely, gave her everything she wanted, and she was the baby of that family, the older brother a couple years older. They taught her to be confident in herself, love who she was, and gave her the love and attention that she needed in order to flourish. She used to be a high class lady but Adaline had learned that in order to be happy, she had to make herself happy first. And so she did. She became herself, stripped herself of the high class, pish posh looks, and went for the more tomboyish looks. The great thing too; her parents still love her the way she is. Of course she's experienced heartache over her lifetime but it has taught her to trust no one but herself and her family and it has caused her to put her walls up. All she needs is someone to teach her that not everyone is rude and untrustworthy.

Overview:
Annabeth's power revolves basically around the manipulation of time as well of objects of non-living things and non-sentient living things, like a tree. She can fast forward time or an object's time into the future, she can freeze time and she can also rewind time. Her power doesn't just affect time, but as stated before, non-sentient living things, take a tree fro example. She is able to fast forward time, making the tree either grow or decay rapidly, or she can freeze an object in mid place or she can restore it back to it's original state, such as turning ice back to water. It's quite a useful power and allows Annabeth to do as she pleases.

Advantage:
If she wants, she can speed time up, like say she doesnt wish to wait for cookies to finish, she can just skip time ahead so that they're already done within that time. Or say she plants a new flower or tree, she can speed up it's growing process and make it grow within a span of two seconds. It helps in battle cause she could basically make a tree grow on top of her enemy. If she needs to freeze time then she can do it or say a bullet is racing towards a comrade, then she can freeze the bullet in mid air and allow the comrade to move. Rewinding time, well of course that's a bit easy; for example if she split her water, she can go back and prevent herself from spilling it.

Disadvantage:
There are many disadvantages. One for fast forwarding time or an object, she can't speed up time far into the future, only a couple of minutes and her time does not work on living breathing things, for example a human. For freezing time, she can only freeze time for ten minutes. For sending things back in time, Annabeth cannot go back in time to revive or keep someone from dying. She can only go back in time to fix a small mistake.

Annabeth is a very introverted girl and she tends to shy away from people which gives off the vibe that she is slightly anti-social (which she typically is). She is also a bit awkward and doesn't always know how to strike up a conversation with others, and sometimes she talks about things that most people are not interested in. Such as constellations. She has a hard time con-veiling her feelings to others as well as starting up a conversations. She much rather sit at home or in her dorm than be forced to go to party. Parties actually make her very anxious, almost to the point that she literally gets sick. However, once you get to know Annabeth though, and if she opens up to you, then she's really not that bad. She's a little more friendly and open, but not much. Do not be offended though, it's just that socializing, even with those that she's extremely close to, tires her out. However, she becomes a little more goofy, telling a few jokes here and there and with those she opens up to, she feels more comfortable around, and doesn't mind laughing with them, or even hanging out with them.

History:

Born to a house wife and a man who is the President of a very important company, Annabeth has never really known what it means to relax and just have fun. Since she was little, her father expected perfection from her, perfection in sports, grades, academics, you name it. When she couldn't make it, just falling short, her father would give her a good beating, not enough to leave marks but enough to instill fear in her. Yeay, not really a pleasant home to live in, now is it?

Her father has instilled that she has to be absolutely perfect, if not than she earns a nice little beating, or she is no longer claimed as his daughter. Because of this pressure, Annabeth has come to believe that she has to be perfect or no one will love her, no one will like her, or even want to be around her. Because of this, she has dedicated her time to studying all the time and keeping herself in her room to make sure she reached perfection. However, she lacked social skills and became slightly awkward around others, not sure what to do to hold a conversation. What she gained in one skill, she lost in another.

When she was old enough, her father sent her to Manchester (a very prestigious school) and told her to not bother coming back if she couldn't do well. For awhile she made sure to ace every test, gain connections and she was getting really good at it, close to the point that she could be considered to be part of the popular clique, however after coming to realize that no matter what she did; her father would never be impressed she stopped trying. She still worked hard to get her grades, but the connections fell flat and soon Annabeth faded back into the shadows, moving to observe people and watch their quirks, habits, learn more about them from watching.

Overview:
He can control the elements whenever he focuses and calls upon them. He doesn't have to have water by his side, or flames or anything of that sort. Think of Avatar if you're confused, yes it can basically be considered like that. He can control, fire, earth, water and air. He's not the Avatar. He's very good with it.

Advantage:
If he's cold he can warm himself up with a small fire, or if there's a small fire he can put it out. Matthew knows how to use his powers and his favorite is using fire. He can summon fire within the palm of his hand and start a fire, or summon a ball of water. It's honestly that simple. Because of this, the elements don't really effect him. He can stand in fire or breath in water, or stand in a wind vortex and anchor himself to the ground.

Disadvantage:
It takes a huge toll on Matthew and when he uses he starts to work up a sweat, like he gets a fever and if he pushes his limits he can be bedridden for the next week, so he has to be careful with how long he uses his powers. And one weird thing with when he uses dirt is that he gets a craving for dirty, like he wants to eat it, so Matthew tends to avoid using that element. The fire, if he stands in fire, sure it doesn't burn but if he uses it long enough and stands in it long enough, it can literally disintegrate him. so basically his powers can kill him.

Matthew is a very serious, no nonsense type of guy. He hates the thought of fooling around while there should be work going on, or goofing off while there is still work to be done. He'll fool around when work is done...that is if you count planning to renovate his room, or come up with a new game as fun. He is very observant and can pick out most detail, which leads him to have a very stoic expression, from time to time, however the thing is, he's very expressive (more than he'd like to admit) and sometimes it's actually very easy to tell what he's thinking. Though he's very serious (sometimes too serious) Matthew can be very sweet and caring to those that he considers his friends. His actions may be small, but he believes that actions truly speak louder than words. He's not one to praise someone or compliment them out in the open, instead he gets people little things, maybe their favorite chocolate, their favorite drink or something small that he needed. Though it doesn't seem that way, he's very considerate. While Matthew believes that optimism is a good train and so is imagination, he's also believes that being logical and realistic is just as important and if someone comes up with a "stupid" idea (one that he deems as unrealistic) he's not afraid to shoot it down. Though with his very serious facade, most people would believe Matthew to be quite rude, but he actually has a heart of gold and despite what people say, he cares; he cares a lot! He probably cares more [about certain things] than the average person would. Honestly, Matthew is a little hard to get to open up to you, but once you get him to open up to you, he is an adorable, awkward and fun loving dork.

History:

Long story short, Matthew was abandoned at a rather young age, so he's never known the warmth of parents. Not even foster parents would take him for some reason and so instead he was put into an orphanage. As he grew older, the orphanage seemed to be giving adoptive parents younger children and babies rather than him so he grew up, helping around, going to school and being quite unhappy. At the age of fifteen he grew to be indifferent and taking care of the other children wasnt so bad, he enjoyed it. By this time he was already doing more labor, bringing in wood, fixing up around the orphanage, putting together new cribs, fixing a television you name it. That manual labor has give him some muscles but due to the lack of nutrition, he's a bit under weight. When he first turned eighteen, he had to leave, but because Matthew has grown quite fond (not that he would admit it) he goes back very often to help take care of the children and just help out around the place.

Healer

Isabel gained the ability to heal any living creature that is hurt or dying. It started with just small cuts or bruises, but gradually she learned that she could heal things much larger and much more painful than just that. By placing her hands on someone and concentrating, she can heal someone or something to the point of them not even having a scratch left on them.

Advancements

When the government first discovered her abilities, they used it to heal broken bones quickly and easily. Soon they moved her on to bigger things and found that she could heal things much bigger and painful, things like cancer. Because of this, everyone wanted to get their hands on her, or more her hands on them (get it??) When the word go around, people everywhere were calling and writing to her and begging for her to heal them or a loved on, but the downside was that she couldn't. Isabel has also started to take away some emotional pain, though it doesn't always work.

Limitations

Everytime Isabel heals someone, it took all of her energy and left her feeling empty. Not empty in the way that she was tired, but empty in the way that she cant hold herself up. She will pass out sometimes, sometimes her nose bleeds, headaches, and other side effects happen when she heals more people than she is physically able to. So the more she heals someone, the more she kills herself. Isabel can take away emotional pain, though it only works if she has a spot for them on her heart. Meaning she has to care about them and want to take away their emotional pain because when she does, it all goes to her and she feels thier sadness. (Thankfully she has learned to ignore it though.) Even still, it makes her own emotional pain a million times worse.

Isabel has long, naturally wavy hair that is a natuarl brown coloe. She died it a beautiful blonde color, and lets it grow out to the top of her bottom. It is well kept and although she doesnt try with it on most daya and goes natural, it looks healthy and beautiful.

Eyes

Isabel has bright green eyes that are always curious and full of adventure. She wears contacts and when she is alone she wears her glasses because she hates them. She usually does have her makeup done, though she doesn't go outrageous on it. Usually simple eyeliner and mascara due it for her because she already has long lashes that give her a great puppy dog look.

Height

Isabel stands short at about 5'4, though she doesn't let her height stop her.

Weight

Isabel is a little underweight, or so she looks. She is actually average weight at about 123 lbs.

Body Type

Isabel has a small and short body. She walks with confidence and with her head always held high. She usually has great posture, and her body is somewhat of like a cheerleader though she is preferred as a dancer. She has a perfect body for a dancer, and has long legs, despite her shortness. She is not afraid to show off her body, but not in a way so that her privates are hanging out. More as in she will wear a bikini in the summer and if she wants, she's not afraid to wear a belly shirt or short shorts. Her clothes outline her small and few curves and shows off her best features, though that is not her goal when she wakes up in the morning.

Everything was great for awhile, until her mother became ' ill, ' at least that's what Isabel and her siblings thought. Their step father then began to drink due to the fact that his new wife was a drug adict, and soon he became addicted too. It wasn't long until the family house became a mess and it was rare to find a happy moment at all.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#000000]Soon her step father became abusive to her and her siblings, and it continued on until she was nine. When her entire family got into a car accident to one of Isabel's piano shows, her mother and younger brother died. Cass has learned to control her ability and she had full control over who she let's into others mind, and who's minds and hearts she sees inside of. When she opens up someone's mind for another person, she has the ability to only show them certain things so that they don't see everything like she does.

Limitations

The main downside to this amazing ability is that in order for her to show someone's mind and heart to someone, she has to see it first. Meaning that every horrible memory and aching feeling, she experiences like it happened to her. Unlike when Cass shows someone another's mind, she can't block anything out. If she even barely opens up the border to someone's mind, everything comes clashing in and every feeling, thought, or memory that person has, she has to experience. The good and the bad. But the worse thing is, when she sees it, every feeling and memory is hightened so that the pain hurts her more and the happy moments feel more special.

And finally, if Bailey was close to someone who passed away, their spirit will be linked to her. The only way this will change is if she lets go.

Bailey is a very bright girl who everyone loves. She has many friends due to her loving and caring stage, though she is very reserved. She doesn't get close to many people, despite people trying, and she usually doesn't open up to people. She is very locked up and silent about her feelings and her past, not that she had a bad one. Despte this, Bailey is not shy, but she is just safe and careful, trying to protect herself. She is very jumpy, for many reasons, but she tries not to show her fear, though she usually fails. She is very helpful despite this and once you get to know her she is caring, sweet, king, and loving. She is definitely teh friend you want to have.
History
Bailey grew up with her mother and step father. Her step father was always abusive to her due to her being a different man's child. He abused her from day one but her mother never stopped him because he helped pay the bills and feed them when they would have been on the road. Bailey's older brother was never abused, and Bailey always assumed that it was because he was a boy and she wasn't. And she was partly right.

When Bailey was seven she started beng sexual abused by her father, but she was too scared to tell anyone until she was older. By then she was convinced that she was crazy because people kept visiting her that no one else could see. When she was nine her grandmother visited her and told her to run away or tell someone what was happening. So she did. She told her older brother who was moving out a week later, and he moved her out and in with him.

She was then in counciling for years because of the trauma it caused her and eventually she learened that she wasn't crazy, but she had an ability.

The first one is that he has to have been wherever he wants to go before, or at least have a very clear picture of it or he cannot go there. He also has to know someone in order to bring them where he is without touching them. And finally, even if he doesn't want to, if he teleports while someone is touching him they will go wiht him. So if he were in battle and someone grabbed his arm just before he left, they would still come with him. He also gains severe headaches when he takes someone with him or he brings them without touching them.

Johny is the type of person that doesn't care what people think of him, unless he really wants them to like him, which only ahppens if it's a pretty girl. He is very flirtatious and he does flirt with a lot of girls, but he is very loyal and would never hurt someone he cared about. He doesn't talk much, despite his cocky nature, but the few that he does get close with know that he is hilarious. He doesn't really tell many jokes and he doesn't have many funny moments, but when he does, they are pretty obvious. Johnny is a friendly, though he is an underdog and quiet, guy who is pretty laid back and relaxed. He is not shy, he just prefers to keep to a small group.
History
Johnny has lived with his older sister as long as he remembered. Originally they lived with the oldest of them, their brother, but once he died in a car accident, it was just the two of them. He never really heard much about his parents because his sister refused to talk about them and his brother would ignore him when he asked about them. Despite this they lived happily and he never had to worry about anything until he learned about his ability.

In addition to flight, Kylin is still learning, though he doesn't tell anyone except the teachers, that he can turn off the gravity for others and help them fly. He is learning to help them fly without him touching them though.

The downsides to Kylin's abilities are simple. When he helps someone fly by touching them, he will let go and they will fall. If he helps them fly without him touching them then he gets major headaches and his nose sometimes bleeds. When he is in the air and flying, he can't go past the clouds or else his nose will start to bleed and he gets major headaches.

He doesn't worry about himself as much as he should. but instead he pays attention to helping others. Ke is very considerate and he makes sure other's are okay before he worries about himself. Kylin doesn't have a bad hpast at all. In fact, he has a great one, that is why he is the person he is today. He was born second out of the five children and he was loved just as much as the other. His family made sure that even through tough times that they had food to eat and a place to sleep. They survived by sticking together and loving one another.

He traveled around a lot with his family and he learned everything he knows by them. They always supported him and his sibling's dreams and stuck by them no matter what. Advantages - Zander can move faster than the eye can see, just a blur of movement, that is, if you're watching. The more he trains, the faster he can go, like an athlete with limit of how much he can grow in speed. Therefore his whole body is sped up so to speak. His metabolism is faster, his healing is faster, his heart rate is faster, all his body systems go faster, and it's a worry that he might age faster as well. He can control which part of his body moves faster as well.

Disadvantages - Just because he can move faster than those around him - fast enough that to him, they seem as if they are standing still - he's not invincible. He can be caught off guard, for one. If you come up behind and shoot him without warning, there is a very slim chance that he will be able to stop it. It all depends on how close you were when you shot him. Any attack, really, if you're standing close enough, he will be unable to outmaneuver. Also, because he has a faster metabolism, he requires more intake of food. If he goes long enough and fast enough, without the proper intake of glucose, dizzy spells and fainting occur. He's been know to pass out mid-run before, and nearly killed himself by crashing full-speed into a building. It's also not like he can't get sick, or can't get affected by certain drugs, his body just works through it faster. But, say he catches the flu, he'll have a week's worth of symptoms smushed into around 24 hours - it depends on how long the illness would normally take and the severity of it. The common cold usually lasts an hour for him, and he once caught strep, which hurt like hell for a day and a half. The same goes for drugs; but it will still take a killer amount of sedative to take him down for a long while. And it can be seen as an advantage, or a disadvantage, but he cannot get drunk unless you epically condense the alcohol.

Zander is a giant goofball. Really, there isn't a time when he isn't being silly. He's an amazing prankster, and loves playing small petty ones just for laughs. He's spontaneous and unpredictable, constantly doing random things that make no sense, again, just for laughs. He can be sarcastic, but it's always good-natured. Despite the fact he's rarely serious and almost never makes sense, he's extremely caring and selfless, with a large heart. He can be incredibly stubborn; once he's set his mind to something, it's very hard to get him off of it. He's not the most stoic person, in fact, he's very emotional, having trouble hiding his emotions, and controlling them. There's also his pride to deal with, and he can be quite vain with it. His pride can lead him to dislike asking for help. He's friendly and trusting towards almost anyone he meets, and it's hard to set him off.

History:
January 1st, 1995, Zander Bishop was born to Laura and Lemmel Bishop. Over the consecutive years, his parents had three more children, all daughters, America, Dyna and Lia. Zander loved being an older brother; helping them with homework, babysitting them on the weekends, tutoring them on how to outrun the bullies. He led a happy life, and went through minimal drama at school. Of course, there were the jocks that bullied him for being gay, but he got through it. All was well, until the car crash. He was fifteen, learning how to drive on the backroads with his father, his mother in the backseat. America had been at soccer practice, Dyna and Lia at their friend's house. Z had just stopped at a stop sign, glancing away for a milisecond, in a joking argument with his father. It was over the radio, something so petty. Lemmel liked to play the band Journey whenever he was in the car, something that drove both Zander and his mother crazy. And a milisecond isn't even that long, especially at a stop sign, but in that milisecond, a truck swerved and slammed into the passenger's side. It had been a drunk driver. Lemmel Bishop died instantly, Laura becoming paralyzed from the waist down. Zander was nearly gutted when a large piece of glass sliced him from collarbone to hip. Yet he still blamed himself for the death of his father. The next few months were rough, with both eldest son and mother recovered in the hospital, and the whole family grieving over the loss. America, who was thirteen at the time, stepped up as best she could, with the help of their mother's sister Joanna, to pick up the pieces.

Advantages - Tobias's power comes in two aspects: there are small things he can see a few minutes before they happen, and then there are things he can see weeks, months, years in advance. First there are the small things he can see, like when a cup falls off a table, or some of the words you say before you say them. These visions are specific - he can see exactly where it happens and with whom. Then there's the more advanced visions, and they're less specific. He can, potentially, predict major events in the future though, which is the advantage.

Disadvantages - For one, the specific visions are only a few minutes in advance - at max. They're also not the most accurate, and there are loopholes. Say, you change your mind of what you're going to do, at the last second. He can't see that change. So if you decide to punch him one way, then right before you do, change directions, he can stop that. And then, of course, there are the small things he predicts that he can't stop. He can stop a cup from falling, or a ball from hitting him in the back of the head, but he can't stop a speeding bullet or car crash. He foresees those things, he can't stop them himself. And then there's the advanced visions. While he can see years, months or weeks in advance, they are extremely vague, with multiple possible interpretations. They usually happen in dreams, but if they're important, he can see them during the day. They also reoccur often if it's deemed important enough. And often, these are things that cannot be changed, fixed points in time. They're usually nightmares too, causing him to forcefully wake up. Even if the visions are simple, if they have a bad omen carried with them, it'll fill him with tremendous terror.

Tobias is a fairly closed off individual. He didn't really grow up with kids his age, or even around his age, so connecting with people has never really been his thing. He's calculating and clever, usually analyzing a situation for the best solution before doing anything, and his analyses are usually right. Though he has trouble connecting with others, he's remarkable at understanding people. While he grew up with little interaction with other children, he also grew up on the sidelines of balls and parties his parents went to, accidentally eavesdropping on many conversations with his butler. He can be somewhat awkward, especially when it comes to physical contact - don't be expecting a hug from him, unless he cares about you very much. He's compassionate and sweet, always wanting to do what he can to help. He's also intelligent and incredibly curious, always asking questions about everything, and he can tend to be a bit nosy. Despite his young looks, Tobias is remarkably mature and wise beyond his years, which commonly shows in his eyes. His butler often told him, that being able to see into the tragedies of the future, changes a person, and in Tobias's case, it couldn't be more true. He feels haunted by the things that he might know about the future, and the things that he could know, but would be unable to stop.

History:
Tobias was born into a high class family, to two billionaires. While he grew up in luxury, he was taught not to be a snot. He had a kind childhood and had little to no life-changing incidents. He was home-schooled, so there were no other little buggers to torture him. There was no abuse, or death. Well, until his grandfather died. He and his grandfather, Cornelius Moss, were extremely close. They used to sit by the fireplace, talking as they played chess. His grandfather taught him how to ride a bike, and held him when his first 'girlfriend' broke his heart. Evidently, Tobias was closer to his grandfather than he was to his parents. Cornelius Moss was brutally murdered in his bed when Tobias was fourteen, which is around the time his abilities started. The nightmares had started a week or so before his grandfather's murder; gory visions of a blood splattered chess piece, a dark figure perched on a windowsill, and so on. He woke up screaming so often that week, his parents grew worried, and called in a psychiatrist who could find nothing wrong. The night of his grandfather's murder the nightmares had fallen silent, but he couldn't sleep. It was the next morning that he found out. His abilities steadily 'worsened' till his parents were convinced of his mental disorder, and put him on medication that messed with his mind even more. When Tobias started to doubt whether he really was crazy or not, it was his family's butler that believed that what he was seeing was true.

Advantages - As long as he's looking someone in the eye, he can tell someone to do anything and they'd be compelled to do it.

Disadvantages - He has to be looking them in the eye, and they have to be able to hear him for it to fully work. If they have their eyes closed, he might be able to tempt them, but he can't full out 'control' them unless he's looking them in the eyes. If they can't hear him though, he's abilities do no work. The same would go if he were rendered without speech. It's also not mind control. He can't just fully control you, and he can't literally 'get in' your head. There is a chance you'd be able to fight it - but it's slim. It also doesn't matter if he meant it or not. If he says something to someone, and it even resembles a command, they'll do it. The person also has to understand what he's saying. He can't command a child to do something with large words, or tell a Russian person to do something while speaking English. At the moment, he can only control up to two people - which is still pretty taxing the longer he does it - and the more he uses his powers on someone, the more they build up an immunity, and the more force is needed until eventually he can't control that person at all.

(Like we talked about, it'll be obvious when he does use it - which will be rarely since he hates it, which will be explained lower down - and I'll make sure to ask first c;)

Sam is a serious person, who isn't prone to crack jokes or sarcasm. He does know how to laugh, though it may not seem like it sometimes, since some jokes pass right over his head. He's an amazing friend, who's reliable and observant, forgiving - to a point, and protective. Once you become his friend, you 'fall under his wing' as his close family describes. He's a bit of a safety freak and a worry-wart, which extends to those that he cares about, making him 'motherly'. Being a very rational person, he usually thinks with his head, not his heart, and rarely makes an impulsive decision. Ever since his powers started up, he's had to be extremely careful with his words, forced to double-check what he's going to say, then triple-check, so that he doesn't hurt anyone. He normally stays quiet anyway, which is much easier. He's amiable, making friends easily. He's got a darkness though, one that he keeps hidden, and he hopes that if he denies it long enough, it'll go away. It doesn't come out often, and usually when it does, it comes out when he's alone. But overall, he's got a large heart who cares deeply about people - more so than himself sometimes. He'll do anything for the people he loves.

History:
Samuel was born to a loving family of five, as the youngest child. All his life he had older brothers and sisters to look at for him, as well as at the same time be the ones to torment him. He had a a fairly uneventful childhood. Had a girl friend for a couple of years, but when she cheated on him for the captain of the football team, he turned to his best friend. Who then turned out to be gay. Who also had a crush on him. Which was when Sam realized he was bi. They started going out and they were really in love and they were happy. Sure they had some shaking times - such as when Sam had to convince his parents that it was not a phase he was going through and that he wasn't gay. While his parents were supportive, his boyfriend's were not, and there were times when he had to crash at Sam's house. Everything was perfect in Sam's life, he even had perfect grades! Until that night, the night his powers manifested. At first he didn't realize it - it wasn't that noticeable. Sam was never a very sarcastic person, so he didn't go around saying things he didn't mean. But there was one night he got in a fight with James, his boyfriend, and he did say something he didn't mean. And James was found dead the next morning. He drowned himself in the river. Apparently the government had been keeping tabs on him, and by that point, they contacted him. Sam, who was distraught,couldn't say no when they asked to do tests 'for the good of science' but when he was tipped off in an email, about what the government really wanted to use his powers for, and what was really going on, he left and joined Berkeley. After doing some digging around on his own of course. It's easy to get answers when you can just... tell them to tell the truth. After that though, he's only used his powers when he had to.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Words: He has to be extremely careful with them, and he often uses articulate ways to express himself.
+ Thinking Before Doing: He's not one to be reckless, and is good at being rational about doing things, rather than impulsive.
+ Slow to Anger: He's got a super long fuse and an ocean of patience. But know that if you do happen to piss him off, you'll be in for a world of hell.
+ Dependable: If he makes a promise, he'll keep it. If you need a shoulder to lean on, he'll be your rock. He's always there for the people he cares about, and if he's not, you've caught him in a very rare mood. He's like an inflatable best friend, who will always listen, always stand by your side, and be there to slap you upside the head when you're being an idiot.
+ Comforting: He's careful with his words, and he's always been good at choosing the right words for comforting others. He also likes hugs, so that's a plus.
− His Power: He has a burning hate for it, and has no intention to use it, or learn more about it. He only came to Berkeley so he'd be out of the hands of the government, who'd want to use him for his persuasive words.
− Dark Side: Whether it came with his powers or not, he's got a little nagging voice in the back of his head, always urging him to use his powers. It's addicting, that exhilaration of knowing he can get someone to do anything he wanted. The nagging voice always has a good reason for using his power, a good excuse, and he fears he'll cave one day, the the urge.
− Overprotective: He can be a bit overprotective when it comes to the people he cares about, sometimes to the point of being possessive.
− Sports: Sam has horrible aim and hand-eye coordination. Endurance and strength are totally out for him as well.
− Shy: He has a slight nervousness towards interacting with other people, and tends to hang back from conversations.

Habits:
Squeals like a girl when he gets rained on, or otherwise wet with clothing on.
Stares at people creepily when he's thinking about them.
Hangs out with people, but during conversations, sometimes will just stand there, listening, while glancing back and forth between the people talking.
Bites his lip when he's trying not to smile, and when he's excited.
