YC lives in 'that giant, creepy house' that everyone avoids because they think it might be haunted, or that a serial killer lives there. Adrien, in a desperate attempt to ditch the dude trying to kill him, runs to YC's house, and bangs on the door.
Here is where it is open-ended.
To the dark end (no romance) - YC is actually a twisted individual, and rumours aren't baseless. Could be a vampire or werewolf or some other 'monster', some sick novelist who wants to live out a slave fetish, even a serial killer whom Adrien bargains with in an effort not to become his next victim.
Not-so-dark (romance possible) - YC is just an introvert/misanthrope, or perhaps a vampire/werewolf/some other 'monster' who wants to keep hidden from society, but is actually quite lonely and is willing to put up with Adrien in return for some kind of companionship and/or work.

Unfortunately, these shifters are not in good standing in society. They are a relatively recent mutation, showing up seemingly out of nowhere only around ~500 years ago. Humans outnumber them roughly 10 to 1, and they face severe discrimination from humanity. Many shifters are forced to become prostitutes, or live on the streets. Most harrowing of all - though it is technically illegal - slave auctions are commonly held underground for the ownership of the prettiest of shifters. It is known by all, but rarely spoken of.
Uriel is a prostitute, and has been since he was a teenager. For the most part, he is savvy, but all it takes is one slip-up to find yourself waking up on the stage of one of these auctions. He normally doesn't get into cars, but this time he does. Foolishly, of course. So very foolishly. Whatever drug they inject him with knocks him out entirely, and when he comes to, he has no idea where he is - just that he is sore, confused, and very, very naked.
Though the plot does have slave elements, I'd like to make it clear that I do not want the relationship between our characters to be that of a master/slave. Uriel would make a terrible slave anyway. We can work out exactly the relationship between our characters/the route we want the story to take together (but I think it would be especially fun if your character also happens to be a shifter. At the very least, Uriel would be much more likely to trust him that way). All that being said, I would love to find someone who can punish him in bed a li'l when we get there. :^ )
Also, Uriel is technically a bakeneko! But he doesn't know that yet. His wee tail has yet to split. Just let me weeb out a little, man.[/div][/spoiler]

YC is Absolutely Heterosexual, and is very taken with the Beautiful Young Woman, and asks to see Hayden again. Hayden, knowing full well that YC thinks he is a woman, decides to have some fun with him.
Most likely, Hayden will just show up to the date, pretend he's a woman for a little while longer, and then take off the wig. I mostly like the idea of Hayden helping someone overcome their own fears of being queer, albeit in kind of a shitty way. Because he is a shitty boy.[/div][/spoiler]

YC is initially very interested, because Hayden is very conventionally attractive. Unfortunately, he is also a little batshit insane, and gets incredibly - if not obsessively - attached to anyone who shows him even the slightest bit of attention.
He ends up thinking that YC is interested in him in more than just a professional sense, and chases after him that capacity.

However, he was never able to shake the primitive need to take to the skies, and thus became a sky pirate. This may or may not have also been motivated by the fact that his newly noble father wanted to marry him off to a woman, and Max absolutely has a fear of commitment, and is also very gay.
One day, in a port city, Maximilian is approached by a younger man, one who looks very out of place. Said young man actually turns out to be the prince, who also is betrothed, and does not want to be tied down. In a panic, the prince asks Maximilian to do one simple thing for him: 'kidnap me'.
Open-ended, lots of nerdy lore, ample opportunity for multiple characters. Light steampunk mixed with high fantasy (think Final Fantasy 12/Ivalice).[/div][/spoiler]

However, one day his luck runs out, and he is called in by the head succubus to tell him that he has one last chance to prove himself, or he's getting cut off, and sent to the breeding pools.
More than anything, Lysander does not want to be a breeder. For one, he does not want children, and is horrified by the prospect of his body changing to allow such a thing; for another, he does not want to be nothing more than a brood queen for whatever incubus walked by and wanted to impregnate him.
So Lysander is given what [I]should[/I] be the underworld's easiest assignment - a human that is notorious for being easy to bed, and having no time for relationships. But things don't always work out as they should.

But it's not. He is being bestowed with the honor of choosing from the country's finest omegas to be his mate.
YC not an asshole. Frankly, he's a bit appalled by the idea that there are still societies that practice this sort of thing. But he is also an unmated alpha, doesn't want to be rude, and isn't getting any younger. He arrives at the glorified brothel, intending just to humour them, but stumbles upon Jac, who captivates him.

He knows that he should not interfere, but when he finds himself faced with a child in a similar abusive situation as he had been as a human, he can't stop himself from doing so. The gods are not happy, and demote him to [I]custos[/I] - a guardian angel. His punishment is to watch over one particular young man who is having some troubles.
YC suffers from dissociative identity disorder. One alter, his 'true' self, is very gentle, polite and soft spoken and could never hurt a fly. His other alter is cruel, tyrannical and horribly sadistic, and would love nothing more than to murder a man with his own two hands. Although Ezra is convinced he can handle it, he finds that this job isn't quite as easy as it was cracked up to be.
Like I mentioned in the warnings, I realize DID is very serious and not something everyone is comfortable or wanting to play with. Therefore this could easily be attributed to demon possession. Perhaps YC is a 'vector', and seems quite [I]roomy[/I] to many demons and spirits. Think Lohse from Divinity Original Sin 2, if you've played it.

He lives in a sizable home by himself and his cat, and is generally quite lonely; immortality does that to you. One night, Cian goes out to get plastered and meets YC, who is also lonely and miserable, and takes him home. When Cian wakes up, YC is nosing around his home, and discovers his secret: he's the painter that YC has been looking up to for years. YC is captivated, and begs Cian to teach him how to improve his craft. Cian is hesitant; after so many years alone and afraid, he tries not to get close to people. In an effort to push YC away, he confesses that he is a vampire, and that YC should stay away from him. Unexpectedly, YC doesn't flee. In fact, he does the one thing Cian would never expect:
He offers him his blood in exchange for Cian's tutelage.

Isaiah is a struggling artist. He lives in a small, beat up apartment with the roommate from hell, and barely makes ends meet working at a dead end job. He always wanted to support himself on his art, but just can't catch his break.
YC is a vampire, and an incredibly talented painter. He lives in a large manor, possibly with several servants, but is generally quite lonely; immortality does that to you. One night, Isaiah goes out to get plastered and meets YC, and after hitting it off, takes him home. When YC wakes up, Isaiah is sketching him, which infuriates him. He goes up one side of him and down the other, critiquing his work, which makes Isaiah feel even worse about himself. YC had no intentions of keeping Isaiah around, but after noticing how dejected he is, and seeing promise in him, he decides to offer to let him stay in his mansion as a sort of apprentice.
Isaiah thinks this is too good to be true - and it is. YC will keep him around in exchange for one thing: his blood.
More true to the plot of the 'Model' manga. I've painted the vampire as a bit more of a dick in this scenario, but things can certainly be altered.[/div][/spoiler]

Arranged marriage! With elves. And magic. And adventure.
Faolan is a disappointment to his family for a multitude of reasons: he can't perform healing magic, he is terribly unathletic, and most embarrassingly of all, he is very, very gay. Unfortunately, he is also the royal family's oldest son, and as such, must be put up with - but all of his shortcomings are forced to be covered up.
Most notably, he is betrothed to a non-elven woman (can be human or any other race). Though this fills him with a sense of dread, Faolan is determined to be the son his family wants him to be, and so he puts on a brave smile and goes through with the wedding.
The catch here is that his bride is no bride at all, but a prince put under a curse by his parents to take the form of a woman. They had no daughter, but needed this political marriage for the prosperity of their kingdom.
There is such opportunity for fun in this. Again it is based on an old beloved role-play of mine and I am so eager to try this again.[/div][/spoiler]

When hiding him in the dark backfired, his parents chose to raise him - and the kingdom - to believe he was an alpha. They forced suppression poultices on him, prohibiting his heats from ever taking place. They told him he was just a late bloomer. One day, while being escorted to a neighbouring kingdom by his guards, they are attacked by beasts. His guards and carriage are slaughtered, but he is spared, albeit it heavily injured. He is found by a passersby, whether royalty from a neighbouring kingdom or not, and rescued by him. Said rescuer is an alpha, and both individuals don't know what to do with themselves when the prince suddenly goes into heat. "But I'm an alpha, really!"
Can very easily be combined with the plot below.[/div][/spoiler]
[spoiler=TWO][div=background-color:white; padding: 5px;]Some interspecies omegaverse fun times. Alpha is a part of a race of giants. Omega is your regular every day human (or elf, even dwarf; point is, they are normal sized or smaller). Alpha stumbles upon omega for whatever reason, we can work all that out. Shamelessly just a vehicle for my fondness of size differences. Can absolutely be used in conjunction with the first plot.[/div][/spoiler]

Alphas, who are a very uncommon sex, are seen by society as senseless, barbaric creatures, driven entirely by biology. Parents huddle their children away from alphas on the street, not wanting to risk any danger to them. They are often denied jobs and discriminated against out of fear that they might lose themselves and be a liability to the company. They are on the bottom of the social latter - the opposite of omegas, who are seen as the sophisticated sex, capable of achieving great things. There's a lot of opportunities here, but one idea I had was for both of our characters to be in an esteemed dance program together.[/div][/spoiler]
[spoiler=FOUR][div=background-color:white; padding: 5px;]Every person has a soul mate, and is born with a mark somewhere on their body. Each mark is unique, and is only shared by one other person: the person you're to spend the rest of your life with.
Unfortunately, not everyone is compatible with their soul mate. Nature has a cruel sense of humor that way. Our characters are not friends -- in fact, they are complete opposites. It is because of this that they are both mortified to discover that they share the same mark.
Basically, this is an omegaverse role-play where our characters are rivals, ex-friends, or otherwise completely incompatible with each other. For bonus awkwardness, one character (let's call him Character A) is also very adamant that he's the straightest man to ever exist. Since A is insistent that he's straight, he's absolutely horrified to receive his mark. I'd like this role-play to be light hearted with some dark overtones. Drama and tension is nice, but I've been wanting something a little fluffier, too. Fluff and drama! In one glorious package!
I have a slight preference for the omega in this scenario, but I'll play either character.[/div][/spoiler][/tab]

Character A and Character B have been friends for a long time (alternatively, the characters have known of each other, but kind of can't stand one another to start with). They live relatively ordinary lives, with their own struggles and successes. For the most part, things seem to be going well for both characters.
Until Character B wakes up one morning with wings/ears/a tail/etc. where he most certainly should not have them.
If Character A and B are friends, then I suppose it goes from there that Character A tries to work things through with B. If they're Not Friends/rivals/enemies, then Character A somehow stumbles upon Character B in a compromising position with his new appendages.
Inspired by the webcomic Avialae (which is fuckin' fantastic and y'all should go read it right now. Warnings for dicks). I would really like to play Character B/the monster boy![/div][/spoiler]

[spoiler=Khera (Omegaverse, low fantasy)][div=background-color:white; padding: 5px;]Khera is a nation in an unnamed universe I originally whipped up for an omegaverse roleplay. I've become quite fond of it, so I'm always interested in dropping some characters in the setting and having fun. Given that it's omegaverse, I probably could have put it in the other tab, but it fits better here.
Khera as a nation is known for producing the loveliest omegas this side of the continent. In fact, the export of omegas and the legal sex trade is what keeps Khera's economy afloat. What this unfortunately means is that omegas are taken from their families the moment that they present, usually between the ages of 13 and 15, and are forced to undergo staunch training and rituals to become the 'perfect omega'. Beauty is absolutely essential, and is considered to the most important trait of an omega - intelligence or strength be damned.
An omega's primary gender is irrelevant, except when it comes to bearing children. Omegas are expected to be the feminine, fairer sex. There are male omegas that are able to bear children, but it is incredibly rare. Because of this rarity, there is a belief that these omegas bear perfect children, and are excellent 'mothers'; they are not sent to stay at regular convents, but rather sent to train with royalty, where they will essentially become a breeding cow for nobility. It is a harrowing fate.
Omega convents/'temples' are overlooked by a high priest, and several priestesses. Omegas live and train there until the day they are sold or given away. Temples also act as brothels, though Kheran officials deny this.
Omegas discover their animal spirit when they first present, and are separated into 'houses' at the temple depending on their vision. All houses are named after star signs, from Aries to Ophiuchus.
Khera's people have warm, golden brown skin, living in a hot, sunny climate. Omegas are often on the paler side due to remaining indoors most of the time; they are allowed a few hours of indirect sunlight per day, but no direct contact, lest they 'age prematurely'.
As a culture: Outside of the omega trade, the Kheran people are hardworking, boisterous, and spiritual. As a nation they are unfortunately quite xenophobic, but as they rely on outside trade to keep their economy strong, their borders are open to all. The Kheran language is similar to Samoan in sound.
Khera is ruled by an absolute monarchy. The sultan, to the outside world, puts on a benevolent face, but deep in the working class, a rebellion is brewing.
Khera borders the ocean, and their main export is seafood.
This being a low fantasy setting, there are all kinds of unique races and creatures inhabiting the world. Perytons, griffins, unicorns and more! If there's a specific fantasy race you want to play, hit me up! Other than humans (because Kherans are very human), I also have the [U]Vinas[/U].

The Vinas are an elegant horned race that are shrouded in mystery to much of the outside world. They are so secluded and fearful of others that they are seldom seen outside of the lush forests they call home. Little is known about them, even to the most dedicated of scholars. They are not welcoming to strangers, and have no interest in striking bargains with other races.
The Vinas first learned their fear of the outside world by old world poachers who would hunt them for their horns. Before that, it is speculated that they were nomads.
Some Vinas do get bitten by the wanderlust bug, and venture outside of the village. When that happens, they are usually not welcomed back.
[div=font-size:0.8rem; letter-spacing:2px; font-weight:bold;][U]On Sex & Gender[/U][/div]
The Vinas put little importance on primary sex and all importance on secondary sex. Omegas are seen as caretakers, those who continue the race; betas are by and large the backbone of society, merchants and builders; alphas are seen as warriors and rulers, and are very uncommon. However, unlike Kheran society, omegas are treated as precious jewels; everyone looks out for them, and they receive the best of care and the utmost respect. In fact, most families are lead by an omega, though the Vinas king and queen are always alphas.
Because of this, there aren't really female/male pronouns used in the Vinasrian language. Therefore, most Vinas do not identify themselves as male or female, but rather by their secondary sex.

The Vinas possess the unique ability to communicate with all races regardless of language, the irony of which is not lost on scholars. They are also capable of passing this ability on to others by way of a kiss, though the exchange is temporary.[/div][/spoiler]
[spoiler=Angel/Afterlife Lore][div=background-color:white; padding: 5px;]Not so much a setting, but I wanted to plonk this here as several of my ideas are based off of this lore.
[U]ON ANGELS/THE AFTERLIFE[/U] -
Angels/spirits do not feel pain, physical or mental. There is a hierarchy in the afterlife, and angels are expected to work, though jobs aren't nearly as stressful as they are in the mortal world. The position of guardian is not an esteemed one; angels are given a mortal body where the aforementioned painlessness no longer applies. It is staggering and startling for them. This title is only achieved by breaking the laws of the afterlife.
Angels can become 'semi-mortal' again by essentially binding their spirit to that of a mortal being. This can be very dangerous; angels are stripped of their wings (which is not a magical event; they are ripped, bones, tendons and all, from their back) are are sent back to the earth. Not all angels survive this. Some succumb to demons on the way and become something not quite mortal, not quite immortal. Their entire purpose is now to be with the person they are bound to; when the mortal becomes ill, so do they, and when their life finally ends, so will theirs.

And I especially suck at naming worlds/universes. 8( Though I have some lore written for this, I'd love to expand it with a partner. I'm just plopping down what I have so far.
Anyway, this is all from Maximilian's setting. The world is made up of several continents and islands, all of which are floating in the sky. There is land far below the clouds, but it is considered a death sentence to explore, and has been reduced mainly to legend. Massive, ferocious titans are said roam the land, but no one knows for sure. Maximilian, of course, is determined to one day be the first (or what he [I]assumes[/I] to be the first) to explore it. [This is something I'm dying to work out in a role-play! What's down there!? Who knows!]
The universe is teeming with magic, but not all regions are welcoming of the craft, instead favouring science over wizardry. In fact, some nations are fearful of magic, and quash all notions of it in their people.
[U]Races[/U]
Aevis - The aevis are a race of shape-shifting avians. Their true form is humanoid, with a few bird-like features, most prominently gorgeous, massive wings. Aevis are not capable of flight in their humanoid forms, but their wingspan remains the same in whatever form they take. The average height for an adult male aevis is 6'2", and the average wingspan is 8.8 meters. Female aevis tower over male aevis with an average height of 6'5", with an average wingspan of 10.2 meters.
The aevis are native to the small island of Oshaya, far to the south. Though many aevis have since moved on to integrate with other nations, and they are not an uncommon sight among the population of every major city, there are still local tribes of aevis in Oshaya who prefer to stay there and preserve their way of life. They are all welcoming to outsiders, and love to share their culture and bounty with others.
