Would Png vs JPeg have any impact on the overall image?
Nope

Also, you explained Auto is used for undefined parameters, correct?
Not necessarily. For some properties, if they're not set they use auto, for others it's different. It really depends on which property.

think it might be a bit too big?
It doesn't really matter. The property background-size will resize the background image to what value you set it to. For example, setting it to the value 'contain' will make the image shrink to fit inside the container you have regardless of how large it may be currently.

Where would I put contain and keep it from repeating the image?
Just add it to the div you have. Order of the properties doesn't really matter. The image wouldn't repeat since you already have the background-repeat property set to no-repeat.

Sorry but, what were you trying to achieve exactly? I'm a bit confused right now. @__@
A while ago I advised that you try adding background-size in your code, yet the code you posted doesn't have it? I'm guessing that it's no longer a problem?

Okay, so I was using Indigo's template as a format; the image is there: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/da/09/50/da0950f14a8cfd9f4d772101b5eddb52.jpg)

But I wanted to make it bigger, and have the image as a background with text scroll on it.

That make sense?

The answers are in the thread :) If you go back a few pages, you should be able to find them! Remember - we wanna help you, but we can only answer the same question so many ways before we're just repeating ourselves. Maybe try what Flames told you back on page 16?

The thing is, I'm new to Divs I used to have it down as you said, but I have suffered a TBI, so my memory is literally hit and miss. Unless I do it a lot, which I haven't been able to, I can't retain it.

I remember doing a halo one, but I go back and look at the code and its like I am reading Latin again. x.X

You've mentioned this before, and I'm sorry that you suffered an injury. Unfortunately, I'm not sure then that there's much we can do for you, however. If your injury prevents you from learning/remembering things like coding for longterm periods of time, then it might just be best for you to stick with those things you know and are used to, rather than frustrating yourself trying to learn such a complex tool.

You're absolutely welcome to ask for help, as always, and there are also shops available on the site where you can ask people to code for you (this might be something you want to look into, so you don't get aggravated trying to work through it on your own) but the thing is, when we're answering the same questions multiple times, all it really does is clutter the thread for people who have new questions to add.

This is why I suggested going back and making sure your question wasn't answered first, already :) We're also going to be making a NEW BBcode help thread and archiving this one (since it's a bit lengthy) and that thread will have an FAQ where you can access questions already asked/covered, so that the answers are a little easier to find. Until we get a guide for DIV BBCodes (which we ARE working on, slowly but surely), this is the best we can do !

I can do this, I know I can. I've done it before. If I keep at it and keep practicing, I'll remember. I want to be proud of something I made like this:

This is what I end up with concurrently:

This roleplay will take place between games Halo 3 and Halo 4. It will begin just after the end of Halo 3 where the Arbiter, Thel 'Vadam, agreed to a concord of relations with those under his command, and sympathetic to his cause--those of the Human U.N.S.C forces--the Brute-Covenant forces, and the virulent, parasitic disaster that was called 'The Flood' during the 'Great Schism' in 2553. The major civil conflict would go on to last 6 more years. The Spartan IV Initiative hadn't yet begun, so all able-bodied Spartan II's and Spartan III's as well as some lingering Spartan I's, were formed into battle groups with O.D.S.T's and Marines and other infantry. These groupings of legends and heroes were given but one task: Find the Halo Arrays, and stop them and any Covenant-Brute forces from firing it, at all costs. If just one were allowed to engage, it would mean the deaths of not just millions or billions of lives, but trillions.

With each Halo Array capable of destroying life within a 25,000 light year radius, by saturating an entire galaxy with lethal dosages of radiation, it became a definite threat that the U.N.S.C and the Separatist Fleet of Retribution led by the Arbiter and Rtas 'Vadum, couldn't choose to ignore. More troubling were the Halo rings its ability to be fine-tuned so the pulse can also allow for the selective extermination of lifeforms with varying degrees of neural complexity. But, it was with great doubt that the Brutes or even the Sangheili that still remained with the remnants of the Covenant, could manage to pull off such an attempt with the advanced Forerunner technology without the help of the San'Shyuumrace, otherwise called 'Prophets'. The U.N.S.C, however, was not about to allow there to be even a slight chance. With seven rings in total in the Milky Way Galaxy, the activation of just one would be catastrophic.

You are under the command of Spartan 006 Matthew. Matthew was formerly a member of Gray Team but was selected to be the leader of a new team, due to his sheer experience: the Cerberus Team. Highly accomplished and competent, Matthew was always able to make tough decisions, even if it led to the deaths of his brothers and sisters under his command. He's survived through two teams before your placement on his team. His peers call him "The Reaper" because those under his command don't have a long life expectancy. But, what most fail to notice, is the hard decisions he's had to make to save even more lives than he'd lost. Matthew carries the holotags of all eight of his former teammates. Matthew is a Spartan-III.

Spartan II's- Received 8 years of special forces training from the ages of 6-14. They then underwent their augmentations procedure, the technology at the time was crude so the procedures killed 30 of the Spartans and crippled another 12. The survivors eventually grew into their augmentations and became incredibly effective soldiers, we don't know how many are left for certain but the ones we know of, show no sign of slowing down.

095a190371f6892de3dbd5cf1750224d.png

Spartan III- SPARTAN-III's came next Project: Chrysanthemum: they weren't kidnapped and were all volunteers when they were recruited by ONI for the program; mostly orphaned children, they ranged in age from 4-6 on average. They were designed to be cheaper and better, depending on their company they received 6-8 years of improved Spartan-II training and then underwent their augmentations procedure. The technology had advanced to that point so the Spartan-III's augmentations produced the same results as the Spartan-II augmentations but with a 100% success rate and worked on a larger portion of the population. The downside to the Spartan-III program was its budget, most of the Spartan-III's were equipped with SPI(Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor) armor which, while incredibly advanced, couldn't compare to MJOLNIR that only a handful of each company received. There's probably 300+ Spartan-III's still around.

095a190371f6892de3dbd5cf1750224d.png

*I've relegated Spartan I's and 1.1's to a much lower tier because I felt that they really didn't compare to Spartan II's and Spartan-III's, they are virtually O.D.S.T's and Marines that are more resilient and a little bit stronger.

Spartan-I- The members of the ORION program was augmented soldiers, using new training methods and the latest breakthroughs in biochemical developments. Augmentations to the ORION soldiers included muscular enhancement injections, pulmonary respiratory enhancements, retina-inversion injections and cochlear enhancement tuning. In addition, mental augmentations were performed to enhance brain functions including enhanced learning capabilities to allow a subject to learn at a faster and higher rate and enhanced motor skills to improve body movements.

The ORION training regime was very difficult and included many tests both mental and physical, including work done in the lab. All sixty-five initial volunteers made it through the training and augmentation procedures and were placed on active duty sometime after completing their training. After their initial deployment and success, funding for training the next group of SPARTAN-Is was approved, and within a few years, the ORION program had one-hundred-sixty-five active duty personnel.

Spartan 1.1-"Spartan 1.1." is an unofficial designation given to the children of the Spartan-Is. While born ordinary, it is suspected that they are subjected to numerous augmentations at infancy.Although they were not as advanced as the cybernetically- and surgically-enhanced Spartan-IIs or Spartan-IIIs, or even their own chemically augmented parents, they were still physically superior to baseline humans.

Augmentations included a higher-than-average intelligence, increased speed, increased strength through enhanced muscle density, enhanced vision, immunity to most diseases, enhanced hearing, an increased lung capacity, a heightened sense of balance, an increased cell regeneration, faster than normal reflexes.

Spartan 1.1's had an inability to become intoxicated through alcohol, though they can get high through an unspecified illegal recreational drug, as well as by painkillers. They also required less sleep to perform their duties.

*All Spartans are immune to the Flood Virus due to their augmentations.

095a190371f6892de3dbd5cf1750224d.png

O.D.S.T- Serving as the rapid reaction force of the UNSC Marine Corps, Orbital Drop Shock Troopers are distinguished by their unconventional method of deployment, known as "transorbital support interdiction", in which the troopers are dropped to the surface of a world aboard small, purpose-built deployment vehicles. This allows them to conduct a variety of missions against targets that more conventional forces cannot approach undetected.

O.D.S.Ts—trained for any kind of landing operation—expect to arrive at a world with hellish conditions, only to enter incredibly difficult combat zones. O.D.S.T deployment via SOEIVs is often considered more effective than drop ship deployment, as it allows for a spacecraft to make a quick pass over a world and deploy hundreds of O.D.S.Ts in S.O.E.I.Vs in rapid succession. Additionally, since O.D.S.Ts are deployed separately, rather than together in one ship, the casualty rate of SOEIV deployment is lower than that of conventional dropship deployment.

The Breakdown:

There will be 4 Spartans of the II and III variety; Matthew the leader, and three others whose profiles I will look over to decide will fit best for these roles. We will be starting on the Punic-Class Supercarrier, Winter's Silence, where we embark to Installation 01. When we arrive, however, the ship and its escorts will be caught off guard, by a splinter faction of Covenant Forces that will destroy the escorts and force the Winter's Solace to crash land on the ring world. From there we stage ground battles to fight our way to the control room as well as to defend the grounded ship. Once the Ringworld has been permanently disabled, the Spartans, led by Matthew, will seek to take control of the Unrelenting Retribution as a means to get the surviving crew members of the Winter's Silence home.

Be warned. The main Spartan II's and III's will be killed off at intervals throughout the storyline, so please make a secondary character as well from Spartan I's, 1.1's and ODST's. Please post full profiles.
I think we should delegate between us three, what our specialty fields are; Close Quarters Combat, Sniping, Heavy Weapons, and Explosives.

Close Combat:(Matthew) Knives, Type-1 Energy Swords, M45D Tactical Shotgun, M7/Caseless Submachine Gun/ Suppressed SMG, Hand-to-hand, Gravity Hammer, Needler, Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Energy Dagger, Jiralhanae Combat Knife

Sniper: Sniper Rifle, Beam Rifle, Needle Rifle, M99 "Stanchion" Anti-material Rifle,

Heavy Weapons:(@Dipper) Spartan Laser, M247H Heavy Machine Gun (turret tore off emplacement), M247 General Purpose Machine Gun, M739 LMG, Flamethrower

Explosives:(@Rowdybull) M319 40mm Individual Grenade Launcher, Thermite Grenades, Napalm Grenade, M363 Remote Projectile Detonator, C-7 Foaming Explosives, M41 Surface-to-Surface Rocket Medium Anti-Vehicle/Assault Weapon

*One character for each class. I'm gonna be CQC. All secondary weapons are either MA5D(Assault Rifle Halo 4) or the M6H handgun(Halo 4) by default. Think of these as Loadouts; you may pick up enemy weapons when necessary as all Spartan II's and III's can use these weapons. However, some have a natural affinity for certain types of weaponry.

⌜ABOUT⌟

● Name: Matthew 006
● Gender: Male
● Age: 43
● Place of birth: Arcadia
● Height: 6'10"
● Weight: 265lbs

● Appearance: Matthew stands out amongst his fellow brothers and sisters; while some have the dark, crew cut hair and even some have no hair at all, his hair is s white as freshly fallen snow and his eyes are piercing and cold. His skin is not the bronze it should be, but an ashen color. He's somewhat of an anomaly, amongst his peers, and at first, it often got him ostracized for not looking like one of 'them'. He was even expected to be decommissioned--that is until they witnessed his willpower, ferocity and fighting aptitude. After a few of the "others" were left beaten and bloody on the floor, it was clear he was going places.

Matthew wears a charcoal colored, Mark VII Powered Assault Armor, with a crimson colored visor. His right shoulder pauldron is in actuality, a Lekgolo helmet painted the same color. He is the only one with the new Mark VII suit.

●Weapons
1.) M45D Tactical Shotgun
2.) M6H Magnum Sidearm
3.) 4x M9 HE-DP grenade
4.) Jiralhanae Combat Knife
5.) Type-1 Energy Blade "Bloodbane'
6.) BR85N Battle Rifle

⌜PERSONAL⌟

Personality: Matthew, much like his fellow Grays, is a lone wolf. Their advanced training doesn't so much make them believe they are 'better' than any other Spartan--at least, not in willpower. But in sheer tenacity, they feel anything less than another Spartan would simply slow them down. Matthew has shown himself to be quite reliable time and again and deviously adaptable. His threshold for pain seems almost inhuman even amongst Spartans of his caliber and bears many scars from such grueling torture as plasma burns and is pockmarked where crystalline shards of glass-like ammunition had exploded in his skin. Extremely intellectual, he is known to be casting his opinions from primarily a strategic and tactical standpoint--even amongst his commanders.

He isn't the tallest, the strongest, the fastest, or even the smartest. But, he is the one willing to make the hard choices and live with the consequences no matter how bad it might hurt in the end.

⌜ABILITIES⌟

●Armor Ability

I appreciate your words, but,

I felt so proud when I made that. It was just like walking again. Something a lot of people take for granted; but for me, it was one of the most painful things I did. Felt like tendons and muscle were shearing and ripping off the bone. But with each step, I got a bit further and a bit further. I could have toped. Given up because it was hard, sat in a wheelchair. I have limits, this just isn't going to be one of them.

Well then, what I can recommend is browsing through this thread to find the answers we've given and work from there :)

Test Chamber: Ark page set-up

I have three questions:

  1. How do I get the image centered?
  2. How do I get the fonts to show up correctly? (Took them from the first pages font list)
  3. How do I put a shadow on the body text like a light blue, green or red to make it 'pop' to the reader's eyes? where would I stick that at?

1. Try Background-position: center;

2. I think it is your browser, yes. Make sure that it is updated, or that it supports the fonts. Google how to check if you don't know how to do that.

3. Text-shadow: -px -px #hex; You can read more here: W3schools the site has more guides that explains CSS codes. I think it is a good idea for you to look there for your questions. Most of what you are trying and asking can be found there in an easy to understand way. It is also clearer and faster than what we are, so you can immediately get your answers if you look and read through.

EDIT: Also, Google fonts aren't available for regular members. That is a perk for donators and staff.

When I post this it adds in the code for about nine extra boxes. Clicked edit and new lines of code were added:

[fieldbox="Amelia Claire Locchet, goldenrod, solid, 5"]
Ethnicity: Caucasian.
Age: Twenty-four.
Gender: Female.
Role: The Catcher.[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Personality, goldenrod, solid, 5"]Amelia used to be calm, collected, and highly precise in her every action. It was this precision and care that made her such an excellent Catcher. Employing the use of devices, smoke bombs, flares, and a variety of tactics to capture the more difficult patients without having to physically do it herself. Furthermore she was a skilled negotiator. Her smooth talking, calming voice, and developed social skills made Amelia one of the best negotiators in any Reaper unit.
But since the incident Amelia has become paranoid. Now she takes every precaution and is always looking over her shoulder. She no longer expects others to look after her or keep her safe. Paranoia and fear have taken over her life. Before Unit 14 was commissioned for field duty again, Amelia had a full time "caregiver" with her at all times, to watch over her and make sure that she did not try to hurt herself.[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Background, goldenrod, solid, 5"]Everyone loved Amelia. She was fun, smart, and quick to make jokes. But she used to be a little too reliant on other people to get her through difficult situations. In school she made a lot of friends and maintained good grades. In college her grades suffered a little as her social life bloomed. During this time she also took to exercising regularly and jogging daily. However, when she entered university, she excelled academically while withdrawing socially.
Amelia was attending university when the outbreak hit hardest. Her and many students found themselves in the governments employ after graduation as part of a team to find a cure to the virus. After a cure was found, Amelia's skills saw her placed with the Reapers, in Unit 14.
For a time they operated above and beyond what any other unit could. They cleared the most territories and were given all of the most difficult operations. They had even been called in to assist other teams. But all of that changed. There was an accident which lead to an Armis outbreak on their camper. They were trapped, injured and infected. After paranoia lead to Amelia locking herself away from her team mates, she spent hours locked in a closet awaiting help and a cure.[/fieldbox]

Health Condition
Physical:
[LIST]
[*]Though physically capable, she is hardly the most adept member of the team. But she has recovered from the incident. Now only scars remain on her stomach, from where she had violently scratched at herself during her dementia, with more scars on her back from a rash and more scratching.
[*]Finally she suffers a minor decrease in the dexterity of her right hand. Though her hand is still usable, just slow and awkward. Besides, Amelia is left handed.
[*]She Is underweight due to a lack of nourishment and barely eats.
[*]Also does not sleep enough, leading to her being quite exhausted.
[/LIST]

Mental:
[LIST]
[*]After the infection, she has never been same. She is afraid of everything. Most of all she is afraid to look at herself in the mirror. Amelia still sees the crazed, infected, patient that needed another unit to cure her. She no longer sees a medical doctor or a Reaper when looking at her reflection.
[*]Furthermore there are still a few gaps in her memory. In particular, memories of her friends and families, causing her to become distant from them. Her "daily" video diaries show just how paranoid she is.
[*]At least four times a day she records a video diary and often watches them back in search of any signs of the virus' return.
[*]In addition to having a full time caregiver watch over her, Amelia also sees a therapist twice a week. Though she barely manages to open up to him. She is afraid to even talk about what happened. And she never talks about the nightmares.
[*]Amelia barely eats and rarely sleeps. This affects not just her physical health but her mental too. Leading to decreased cognitive functioning and further difficulties with remembering.
[/LIST]
Only time will tell if she is ready to trust her team again. Or her if her fear of them still lingers...

Relationships
Friend to the Director: Probably one of the few people she still trusts. Aside from her general paranoia of people.
(Former) Friend to the Executioner: Strained, Amelia feels betrayed. He was supposed to protect her, keep her safe, but then the incident happened... Amelia blames him just as much as she blames herself. She will likely never fully trust him again.
(Former) Friend to the Containment Man: While she blames the Executioner for not helping her, she also knows that the Containment Man is the primary reason that she was infected. it will be a long time before she trusts him again.
Friend to the Tech Expert: Before the incident she often helped Amelia with new equipment to aid in her role as the Catcher. But now who knows how they will get along. Though she has no reason other than her newfound mistrust of people to not trust the Tech Expert.
Friend to the Nurse: If not for the nurse, then surely Amelia would have died during that horrid incident. His failure to detect the outbreak of Armis on the camper was one piece to what lead to her infection. But he is also likely the reason that she did not go TFG before the other team arrived. As such, Amelia has begrudgingly been forcing herself to try and forgive him. If only forgiveness came as easily as distrust does.

Appearance
Description: Long black hair drapes down to her shoulders and beyond. Her physical build is thin, almost lithe, more suited to running long distances than putting up a fight. And she is rather good at running. On her lower back is a tattoo of a small green bird with outstretched wings. She stands at around 5'4" and weighs in at an unhealthy 95lbs. Clearly her lifestyle is not quite as healthy as it was before the incident.

Not sure if the code you have in the image is the same you posted... cause I just copy-pasted your post and it worked fine for me:

  • Check tab 2

  • [fieldbox="Amelia Claire Locchet, goldenrod, solid, 5"]

    Physical:
    • Though physically capable, she is hardly the most adept member of the team. But she has recovered from the incident. Now only scars remain on her stomach, from where she had violently scratched at herself during her dementia, with more scars on her back from a rash and more scratching.
    • Finally she suffers a minor decrease in the dexterity of her right hand. Though her hand is still usable, just slow and awkward. Besides, Amelia is left handed.
    • She Is underweight due to a lack of nourishment and barely eats.
    • Also does not sleep enough, leading to her being quite exhausted.

    Mental:
    • After the infection, she has never been same. She is afraid of everything. Most of all she is afraid to look at herself in the mirror. Amelia still sees the crazed, infected, patient that needed another unit to cure her. She no longer sees a medical doctor or a Reaper when looking at her reflection.
    • Furthermore there are still a few gaps in her memory. In particular, memories of her friends and families, causing her to become distant from them. Her "daily" video diaries show just how paranoid she is.
    • At least four times a day she records a video diary and often watches them back in search of any signs of the virus' return.
    • In addition to having a full time caregiver watch over her, Amelia also sees a therapist twice a week. Though she barely manages to open up to him. She is afraid to even talk about what happened. And she never talks about the nightmares.
    • Amelia barely eats and rarely sleeps. This affects not just her physical health but her mental too. Leading to decreased cognitive functioning and further difficulties with remembering.

When I post this it adds in the code for about nine extra boxes. Clicked edit and new lines of code were added:

Are you by chance using the rich text editor?

@Petricus Euryale Code works fine for me as well. No extra boxes added. Do you have a post featuring the buggy code in action?

Based off the image you attached though, I think it might be the case of the formatting bbcodes (bold, center, etc.) messing things up for you. Try clearing them first, that might fix your box duplication problem. You can always add them on later when the fieldbox problem has been fixed. To clear the formatting in the post, select the areas you want the formatting removed (in this case all of it) and then use the eraser button at the top right of the editor.

I got it working!

I think it was a mix of the rich text editor and it not knowing how to combine fieldboxes with with text formatting codes :(

Thank you guys.
