In the beginning of the 21st Century, the economy of Japan is near a total collapse, with high rates of unemployment and students boycotting their classes. The government approves the Battle Royale Act, whereby one class is randomly selected and the students are sent to an island wearing necklaces with few supplies and one weapon. They must kill each other and wins his or her own life as a prize.
If 24 hours pass without a death, the necklace around their necks explode, and there is no winner. The story revolves around Class A9 Mr. Sasagawa's Class of Burizu Shima Junior High School. Who will participate in this death game?
