"Ah, technology. I would probably be dead without it."

"Jacey!" Jace looked up and saw his baby sister Hillary making her way towards him, with Stupid Chad holding her hand. Hillary kissed her brother on the cheek and smiled happily. "I haven't seen you in, like, forever!"

"We all had dinner last week, Hill," Bianca reminded her sister with an eyeroll.

"Whatever. It feels like years. Jacey, you didn't tell me you were dating Embry from Insanity Not Sound!" Hillary beamed at Embry.

Jace sighed, but continued to smile. "Hill, we're not dating. Though we would make a wonderful couple. Don't you think, Embry?"

The lights started dimming, meaning it was time for the movie to begin. Hillary took her seat on the other side of Embry. The theatre hushed as the movie began.

The question made her actually blush a bit. Embry had opened her mouth to reply, to say something sarcastic or even agree. She was pretty certain that anyone cool paired with Jace would make them a wonderful couple besides herself.

However the lights dimmed and the theater fell quiet. She was thankful, not only because she wouldn't have to answer. But because it also hid the warm red color in her face. With a quiet sigh, Embry focused her attention on the movie.

The movie ended in a standing ovation; everyone stood with tears in their eyes and applauded. Jace was the first to congratulate Eddie and his sister, kissing Bianca on the cheek and clapping Eddie on the back. "That was amazing," he assured the both of them, before turning back to face Embry.

"Right. I have absolutely no interest in attending the after party and we have movies to watch. What did you want to do? Did you like the movie?"

"I don't see how anyone could not like it. It was beautiful. And the acting top notch." Embry assured him with a perfect thumbs up.

She placed her hand on either side of her hips."To dig into those other two movies, we're going to need some things. Either you have it at home or not. Popcorn, chocolate and a pillow. Without the pillow I might squeeze the life out you and some part of me says you might enjoy that too much."

"Fortunately for you, my pantry is comprised entirely of junk food and chocolate. I am a terribly unhealthy person. I'm surprised I don't weigh a million pounds. And I have pillows galore." He offered her his arm once more. "Shall we dramatically depart?"

Soon they were at Jace's mansion and piled onto the couch with two buckets of popcorn, enough chocolate to feed a small country and two jumbo bottles of Coke. Jace had dragged his comforter and pillows from his bed and down to the couch. The first menu for the Human Centipede 2 was on the huge screen of his flatscreen TV.

"Are you ready to have your life destroyed?"

"I don't think anyone can be ready for the disturbing horrors that await to ruin your being." Embry answered him with a slight shudder."Just a moment."

She grabbed a large, soft pillow and wrapped her arms around it, trapping the cushion in a bear hug. "Okay, this is as ready as I'm going to get." She chuckled softly and reached for a piece of chocolate.

Jace pressed play.

About halfway through the movie Jace found himself with his head resting on Embry's thigh, close to her knee, and his hand in the bucket of popcorn. "So, how are you finding this cinematic masterpiece?" he asked sarcastically. "Somehow, I find the Australian psychiatrist who wants to fuck his mentally disabled male patient a lot more disturbing than the mentally disturbed male patient who's stitching people together."

Jace shoved a handful of popcorn into his mouth and sipped his Coke. He had been desensitized to these films to the extent that he could eat while watching them without an issue. "Do you want me to turn it off?" he asked seriously. "I don't actually want to destroy your life."

Since the beginning of the movie Embry had been letting out a long series of whispered "ews" from her mouth. She hadn't even been able to eat the popcorn, drink her soda or eat the chocolate. And that was saying something, taking into account how much she loved chocolate.

She just sat there, eyes glues to the screen, only squinting at the wort of parts, and hugged her pillow, clinging onto it with her dear life. So, it was no surprise that as soon as Jace offered to turn it off she agreed. The blonde even grabbed the remote and shut it off herself.

"Thank you for saving my life." She said, looking down at him and tossed the cushion her arms to the side."I might not eat for a few days, but at least I'll be able to live with myself."

"It's fine. I'm glad we shut it off before you were permanently traumatised." Jace sat up and leaned against the back of the couch, running a hand through his hair as he spoke to Embry. "You're lucky we didn't get to the third one. It's essentially torture porn. He castrates -- you know what, I'm probably going to scare you."

Jace stood up and stretched. He had changed into a pair of sweats and a T-shirt before they had started watching the movie; his shirt hiked up when he stretched his arms, revealing his toned stomach. "So ... what do you want to do now?" he asked. "Do ... d'you want me to take you home?" That was the last thing Jace wanted, but it was her decision. He wasn't going to kidnap her.

"Nope." Embry shook her head and quickly added."I just don't feel like going home right now, I wanna stay with you a bit longer if that's plausible." She chewed on the corner of her bottom lip nervously.

"I don't care what we do. As long as it's innocent and happy and able to erase the previous images I have seen." She said, pulling her legs up and sitting Indian style. She pulled her dress down a bit since it was riding up.

"Since how there are no cute animals to snuggle with, usually the best remedy, we can do Disney karaoke or we can write a long list about all things that makes us happy in life."

"Fuck Happy Lists. We're doing Disney karaoke." Jace grabbed the remote and changed the channel to the one the PlayStation was connected to. "I secretly love Disney movies," he admitted. "If you leak that to the press I will eviscerate you. And, just so you know, I plan to kick your pretty little ass."

He dragged her to her feet so they could perform properly and passed her a PlayStation microphone. Once he had the Disney karaoke game in and loaded, he scrolled through the songs with the remote. "Pick a song, any song."

"Oh, really?" Embry smirked and hopped off of the sofa. She wrapped her fingers around the mic securely."I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. We'll see who's pretty ass will be getting a beating won't we?"

Embry didn't have to bother looking through the list. She already had picked her song from those of her favorite in her head."I'll Make A Man Out of You, please dear." She pointed toward the screen.

"But of course."

Jace selected the song. As he was player one, he was up first. He knew all the words, of course, and the notes they were required to hit were a little basic for his vocal range, but he went along with it. He was determined to beat her.

"Let's get down to business, to defeat, the Huns."

Embry patiently listened to him sing his part as she watched the lyrics on the screen. When it was her turn to sing, she didn't bother reading the lyrics. She already had the whole song memorized, word by word, note by note. And that was the reason she chose it.

It was a simple song, but she loved it all the same. Embry was so overly confident that she'd win this song. She wasn't hiding it either. She looked at him while she sung, making comical movements as if was actually shooting a music video for it. And she teased him by silently sticking her tongue out between breaks.

The song ended and Embry beat him by ten points. "Fucking dammit," snapped Jace, throwing his microphone onto the couch. "Right, goodbye, dignity. You can have my Tilbury."

He checked the clock on the wall. "Shit, it's nearly one a.m.," he said, surprised. "Time flies when you're having fun, I guess. Did you want to go home? You can crash here if you like. I'll lend you some of my pajamas. I'm pretty skinny so they should fit," he joked. But he actually was very skinny, almost unhealthily so. There had been rumours that he was anorexic, but really, he just had the best metabolism ever.

E M B R Y
"Yeah, you are thin. Like Grant Gustin skinny." Embry agreed, giving his arm a light squeeze."But somehow you guys make it work and end up being totally attractive. Probably has to do with your height too."

"I'll the stay the night, I'll even sleep on the couch if you want." She said jokingly, but at the same time, she was serious. Embry could sleep comfortable whether it be on a couch or bed or even the floor. She could fall asleep anywhere, especially if she was really tired.

"Just to be fair. I think I deserve a bed, your bed, not only because it's the gentlemanly thing to do. But because I made you my bitch just a moment ago."

Jace groaned. "Ugh. Fine. I hate you."

Jace gathered up his comforter and pillows and lead Embry to the master bedroom. He dropped it all on his spacious bed before going to his closet and pulling out some clean sweats and his smallest T-shirt, which would probably still be baggy on her because he was so obnoxiously tall.

"Goodnight," he said dramatically, pouting. He dragged his feet as he slowly walked towards the door. "I'm going to go sleep. On the couch. And cry. Because I'm not in my comfortable bed."

"Aww, poor baby." Embry pouted and held the bundle of clothing underneath her arm securely."I feel just a tiny bit bad for kicking you out of your bed in your own house. It makes no sense." Her head tilted to the side slightly as she said this.

Embry smiled softly and inquired with a raised eyebrow."Are you a sloppy sleeper? Your bed is huge." She made a hand motion over the bed and offered. "We can always share."

The idea of sharing a bed with Jace wasn't so out of wack for her. They had grown close over a short time, it was most likely because he was a naturally affectionate person. However, she really didn't mind the idea of sleeping in the same bed as him. and, she didn't really like sleeping alone. Having at least one person in the room, made her feel more at ease, especially in someone else home.

"I promise I don't snore loudly. And I won't attack you in your sleep, violently or sexually."

"Yay!" Jace turned around and jumped onto the bed. "I have to sleep on the right side of the bed and if you wake up with me clinging to you during the night it's because I generally hug my pillows." He buried his face into his pillow.

Jace could think of a smart ass comment to make about the sexual attack, but he decided to refrain from saying it because he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. He rolled over and looked back at her.

"You can get changed in the bathroom."

E M B R Y
"Okay." Embry left him and went into the next door bathroom. She swiftly changed into the pajamas she was given and had to roll up the top of the pants, at least twice to not be stepping on the pants legs. Besides that, they were just fine and comfortable.

She finished up by washing the make-up off her face and tossing her hair over her shoulder."I might just keep these pajamas." Embry said upon exiting the bathroom. She hopped onto the bed and went underneath the blankets.
