Li is a compulsive person and can hardly keep still long enough to catch a breath. Between planning and devising strategies, their are few better at coming up with an answer to the impossible. Li can also be very vain and confident in his own abilities, which can lead to tremendous failures. Despite his virtues and confidence, Li can easily be impressed, and often falls for the wiles of the opposite sex to such a degree that it becomes pathetic. His unflinching loyalty to friends can almost be admirable.

Li was born into the prestigious Kang family. A family that ruled as Chiefs of the Northern Tribe for generations. However, Li would not inherit the mantle of Chief, but instead his Elder brother would. Li was a bit of an oddity among his family. The Kang family had always taken careful measure when choosing spouses, because of this the family constantly gave birth to very powerful and talented benders. Li was unique due to the fact that he was born without the ability to bend, much to the ire of his father and grandfather.
Li's lack of bending did not dissuade his family from believing him to be inadequate compared to his siblings, whom were all talented benders. Li began his education and training early. Much was expected of him, even if he was the second eldest son and lacked any ability to bend. Li would train under some of the best martial artist from around the Kingdoms. During this time Li was introduced for the first time to the avatar. Kassidy had began her training under the guidance of Li's father. Kassidy lived among his family for a short time, but despite her brief stay with his family, Li became attached to the young avatar. Although they were the same age, Li treated her like a little sister. The two sparred and trained together during the early mornings under his Father's watchful eye, but during the evenings the two, accompanied by the rest of Li's siblings would tease and play together. The group often found themselves causing trouble more often than not.
Although Li could not bend, he trained beside them. He learned near as much if not more than the benders learning to master their own art. This afforded Li the knowledge of how to fight and counter the four elements, and turn their weaknesses into his advantages. Li would one day lead the armies of the Northern Tribe against any threat, and so he was educated in war and strategy. Li lived for a time under the tutelage of his uncle, who commanded the armies of the Northern Tribe.
His uncle taught him everything he knew, and everything he learned through experience. Li soaked it all in like a sponge, becoming his uncle's favorite nephew in the process. During his time under his uncle's care, a civil war among the Water Tribes broke out. The Northern Tribe had held dominance over their Sister Tribes for generations, but the Southern Tribe wished to govern themselves. This could not be allowed. His Father declared war, and his uncle invaded. The fighting was dire, and many hundreds lost their lives in the span of a few months. As the conflict grew increasingly violent, Li was given a command of his own.
He would have to make the same difficult choices countless commanders and generals before would struggle with. The killing of your own brethren was not something a person with a conscious could make easily. Li would serve with distinction, and lead by example. When the order to raid a village was given, he lead the assault himself. his father and uncle were beaming with pride at what they created, but Li did not share in their pride. He felt damaged beyond repair, that he had traded his humanity for valor and fame.
One years after the civil war between the tribes began, Avatar Kassidy intervened. Her presence stopped the war at its most violent point. Despite her age and the ties she shared with the Kang family, Li's father grudgingly agreed to end all hostilities between the Tribes. The Northern Tribe would remain the dominate tribe, but the Southern Tribe would be free to govern themselves.
Li was over joyed to see his old friend, the girl he once thought of as his sister. Li was present during the signing of the truce between the tribes, but could not look the avatar in the eye. He had helped lead a slaughter against her own people; although, he took great care to avoid the village of her birth. After the signing The avatar approached Li and scolded him in the same manner she used to when they were children. At that moment Li decided to accompany the avatar, abandoning his duties to family and tribe. He is currently traveling with the avatar.

Li was born into a wealthy Northern Water Tribe Family. Many of whom had once been tribal chiefs over the entire tribe. His family had held a long tradition of siring famous warriors and water benders, and so the mantle fell onto him to live up to the family legacy. Since childhood Li has trained and broken bones in a pursuit to honor his family.
By the time Li was born his family had migrated from politics, to focusing on the family business. Li and his older brother took to the family trade like they were born into it. The family had long established several trade agreements with not only the Southern Water Tribe, but also the Earth Kingdom to their south. Although their trade was a legitimate business, Li had ventured into the trade of illegal goods. He sold secrets, he sold lies, and he smuggled narcotics. Any of which were worth ten times more than a hull filled with furs and oils.
Li and his brother would spend weeks at sea, weeks negotiating with foreign dignitaries, and even longer weeks applying every skill their family taught them to swindle as much coin as possible. Li had a knack for turning a coin and making a profit, while his brother preferred to keep the family business strictly honorable. One would say Li's skills were almost too good, and more often than not, annoyed the under bosses of several crime lords.
When an powerful crime lord in the Earth Kingdom learned of how much coin Li was profiting from him, the man put a price on his head. It wasn't long after did the Northern Water Tribe discover illegal substances smuggled aboard Li's ship. Politics became involved, and his family name was dragged through the mud. He was disowned by his family, but not before they lost everything.
The last Li saw of his family they had banished him to wonder the frozen ice caps outside the city. His wealth was gone and so was his honor. He was alone and near frozen when he found a Snow Raptor cub. He and the cub survived the harsh wastes of the North long enough for hunters and assassins to find them. For three years Li has wondered the northern poles trying to stay one step ahead of the hunters looking to cash in on his corpse.
On the side Li has made a living as a hunter. The Poles are harsh and secluded, but are abundant in creatures with desirable furs. Each season Li hunts and traps to survive, then sells the pelts and furs to traders.

Sutōmu is a neat looking young man. His skin tone is relatively dark because of the time spent top-less in the Arctic landscape, and is covered in number of frostbites (because of similar hobby). This young man has bright brown eyes, black hair and a face you don't want to see in anger (seriously, you will regret that.
Sutōmu usually dresses in blue cloak with white fur, shaggy black pants and old felt boots. Underneath cloak is usually a simple black shirt, with a bit of blue shading - or black t-shirt with similar effect. He carries old family sword in a neat black-metal scabbard. A very strange detail in his attire is wedding necklace - typical was to call out someone to marry you in Water Tribes - and is usually worn only by women. That's one of traits that made him extremely "unpopular" in Southern Water Tribe.
For training he prefers black t-shirt, grey shorts and black fingerless gloves made out of simple fabric.
Sutōmu has a build similar to his mother's - broad shoulders, decreasing in size chest to lower part of body, and small hips. Actually, Sutōmu indeed looks more like his mother, nor than his father, and behaves more like her. Apart from that, he has a scar on his right arm.

#Waterbending - Sutōmu is prominent at waterbending, and uses it in many styles (mainly because he stole some scrolls from Northern Tribe).
#Frostbending - Sutōmu is skilled in manipulating water molecules in air, to create ice and snow out of thin air.
#Healing - Due to being trained from a very young age, trained by powerful healer and natural talent Sutōmu is prominent at healing. Besides healing connected to waterbending, Sutōmu knows different healing plants and medicine.
+Acrobatics - Sutōmu (being a waterbender) is naturally flexible, and developed acrobatic style of fighting. It's really weak now, and ranges from simple tricks, but can improve from time to time.

Sutōmu is what you call an introvert nowadays - he can't normally speak to people he sees for the first time, he can't be helpful around them and he can't even ask them about stuff that worries him. His brain probably has a panic attack every time Sutōmu sees someone. Anyways, Sutōmu is pretty helpful around people he somewhat knows, and can even keep a normal conversation - but not get too much friendly around him, it may result in someone kicking your ass with the wrath of sea. Only thing that can get him close with people, are his puns. He indeed loves puns, but is not so good at them (which he admits). Sutōmu is not confident in his water abilities - nor he is in his sword fighting abilities apparently - so that may result in weak fighting, and probably even more sadness.

History;;
Sutōmu was born in a family of a fisher, and a housewife - typical family type for both Water Tribes. Apparently, from his mother he inherited powerful waterbender blood - his family was quite famous in past because of their sharp skill to bend water in all ways the could. He grown in atmosphere of modest Northern Tribe, going to healing school for his first years. Sutōmu was never a non-talking child, so he quickly gathered group of people he was in very close bonds of friendship.
Eventually, his family got another child, and another. He already had an elder brother, so now he had two younger sisters. Father couldn't feed them all, so they had to move to less expensive Southern Water Tribe. More than half of their money went to the journey, where mother's distant relatives (it was normal for daughters to leave for their husbands to parallel tribes) suited them in a small hut. But suddenly, war broke out between two tribes. Luckily, Sutōmu's family, and himself, weren't touched by this.
And Sutōmu was growing - indeed growing. His grandfather gifted him a sword, so he started to train in the snowy region, earning some of his first frostbites (prominent skill in healing was very useful in this part of his life). But that didn't mean that Sutōmu was getting more attention - his elder brother had left to Earth Kingdom to apply as an architect, so most of attention was applied to his younger sisters. While father took deep care about sisters, mother was all in housework, and paid all attention in little of her rest time to Sutōmu. She taught him more advanced skills of healing, and some of water bending. Her mother - Kaila - was prominent healer, and was valued by both tribes before the war. It wasn't a surprise that the avatar was learning additional healing skills and some waterbending skills from her. Kassidy lived with them for two months, and for that time Sutōmu became friends with her. After young Avatar left, apparently, father was a bit angry at his wife, because both sisters were non-benders. It was a huge conflict between mother and father, so they eventually broke up, and father took away his sisters. Sutōmu and his mother moved to his grandmother by mother line, and live there by today.
Sutōmu now earns himself cash by hunting fish in icy waters of South Pole. He mainly uses a boat, and some of his waterbending skills. He wanted to contact the Avatar Kassidy several times, but eventually gave up - she wouldn't even remember him, would she?

She has fairly tanned skin from training in the sun in some parts of the other nations but it looks good on her so she isn't really bothered by it. She has tinted blue eyes, which are well rounded and accents her cute, shy look. She stands at an amazing height of five foot six and weighs about one hundred and thirteen pounds. She has a petite, delicate frame though she has muscles in certain places from training. Kassidy is typically seen dressed in the traditional Southern Water Tribe wear, though she requested it be like a dress instead of pants and that her shoes have an extra fluff for coziness.

She is nowhere near cocky about being The Avatar as she uses her title to actually help people than sit on the sideline and do nothing. She is very encouraging and understanding when it comes to certain situations. Kassidy doesn't like it when people bully others as she feels that bullies will not get ahead in life. She is highly against bullying and makes it known to whatever nation she visits, or whatever person she comes across that is seen bullying somebody. Kassidy is not afraid to speak her mind, no matter the subject at hand. She doesn't mean to come across as being mean or opinionated but it just comes out that way and she usually apologizes if she has went too far and whatnot. Overall, Kassidy is a nice person to be around and to get to know. She doesn't want people befriending her just because she is The Avatar.

Growing up, Kassidy had no idea she'd be just as special as people usually said she was when her mother had given birth to her. She would do things that normal kids, well benders, wouldn't or couldn't do. Her parents often wondered to themselves what was happening to their baby girl and sent her to several doctors, who obviously couldn't find anything wrong. Kassidy lived a very sheltered life as she has no brothers or sisters. Her parents wanted to keep her safe from the rising force of Chi Blockers so she wasn't allowed to even step outside without them beside her.
Over the years, she trained in the art of her bending, perfecting it with ease as when she was twelve years of age, her master and elders came to her and took her to a secluded area. They told her to pick out some toys to play with. Confused, she did as she was told and picked out the toys that the previous Avatars picked and that was when she was told she has a great destiny and journey ahead of her as she is now the protector of sorts for all the nations. She had to be sent off to train in the arts of the other elements though Firebending isn't really her forte though she can do it, just not well. She's had loads of training from other master benders and weaponry masters, alike and was told her goal in her life time and time again.
Now, that she is twenty years of age, she must travel to all nations once again though with the help of some friends and make sure that her people of the nations are safe and secured because the chi blocking force is rising and striking by any means necessary in order to get The Avatar's attention. Well, they got it and now she must put a stop to them before they ruin the lives of her people.

As a character, Kassidy is very interesting one - for me she is like mix between Korra and Aang, Aang's altruism and Korra's strength and their both tactic.

In Depth Appearance;;
Amai is shorter than most standing at about 4'11. Her hair is a dark brown and reaches down to her mid back when it hangs loose. Her eyes are a light green but often look almost brown. She likes to wear green clothing generally with sleeves to long for her arms. When it is really hot in the summer time she wears a dress that hits right above her knee and has no sleeves. In the winter she wears a dark green coat that's a size or two too big. She has a scar on her left shoulder from an accident with her bending.

Amai was born in midwinter and she was her mother and father's first child after years and years of trying. For this reason she was kept inside most of her life and it wasn't until she was about six and going to start school that she was allowed to do anything but be at home. When she turned about nine her mother was pregnant with another baby and once her younger brother Ivan was born she was basically allowed to do what ever she wanted.
She began hanging out with a group of children that were earth benders
