Shen Rong, yellow
Length and Build: 1.65m; Significantly muscular and well-built (refer to image for physique)
Appearance: Sporting a greatly weather-beaten face and bald head, Shen is most distinctively identified by the cross scar that he has on his head. That, alongside his well-muscled physique and long earlobes and (relatively) distinctive facial hair, makes for a highly recognizable individual.
Birthplace: Ba Sing Se
Element: Earth Bending (Master)
Sub-Element: Metal Bending (Master)
True to his element, Shen is a greatly rooted and firm individual, capable of facing down even the most belligerent of people and still maintain a cool, collected facade. Despite that, he is far from cool and collected, often breaking out into earth-shattering (literally) fits of anger after the need for calm is passed. Such is his nature that some have taken to calling him "Two-Faced Shen". As if to further perpetuate that moniker, Shen sometimes passes himself off as a Non-Bender, blending in as a skilled martial artist who specialises in various schools of martial arts.
Nevertheless, beyond his apparent hypocrisy, Shen is a kindly individual with a soft spot for those younger than him. Like a gardener who cultivates the plants in his garden, Shen looks upon the young ones as flowers about to bloom. Which is an irony, considering his general aversion to change.
On that note, Shen is anti-royalist, believing the Royal Family did nothing to better serve the interests of the Earth Kingdom. However, owing to the belief that the negative impact of an upheaval effected by the removal of the Royalty far outweighed the positive, he has never acted on his ideology. Instead, he travels the Earth Kingdom, honing his art and imparting them to those willing to seek him out for it.
With those he is on cordial terms, he can be rather crude and at times lewd in behaviour. It has earned him a few slaps here and there, but his physical training has proven to be exceptionally useful in such situations.
Born to commoner parents in Ba Sing Se, Shen demonstrated aptitude for earth bending from an early age and was thus sent to an Earth Bending school. Although he showed no genius with the skill, he proved to be a diligent student, and was taken under a master who eventually helped him master Earth Bending and eventually, Metal Bending. However, determined to go beyond what he already knew, he sought out a Lava Bending master. He eventually found one, but when the latter realized he had no aptitude for the skill, he left - an act that left Shen with one of his oldest grudges.
Still, his thirst for true mastery persisted, so he pretended to be a Non-Bender and sought out a martial arts master (as the said master only taught Non-Benders). The fallout from when the master discovered his bending heritage was so severe that his parents paid for it with their lives. Furious, but still reasonable, Shen took to the authorities to exact vengeance by law but was thoroughly disappointed by the inefficiency. Left with little choice, he took revenge the criminal way, killing his master without anyone realizing.
With no evidence besides his motives, and combined with the gross inefficiency of the bureaucracy, Shen was able to leave Ba Sing Se without trouble. He did so and never looked back, taking to the sands of Omashu where he continued to train his earth bending in the treacherous sands of the desert - well known for its difficulty to any Earth Bender. He spent most of his later life there, surviving on odd jobs which he performed with ease due to his physique and bending abilities.
Equipment: A paper fan. What better way to survive the heat of the desert? (Besides water, of course)
Skills: Keeping calm. It is probably fair to consider this a talent of sorts, especially when factoring in how long he kept watched and listened in times where most men would shout in rage, held back instead of striking, after his parents' murder.
Meditation. A ability he picked up to combat the nightmares and emotional repercussions of his actions leading to his parents' deaths. It has proven to be the sole way he kept himself together.
Theme Song: Stains of Time - Jamie Christopherson (Metal Gear Rising) << The lyrics are highly relevant to the character

(Fang : square, in the sense of correctness.
Lei : thunder.)
25 years old.
Length and Build
1.82m tall and normal build.
Weighs around 72 kg
The Shadow Blades
Element : Fire
Sub-Element : None
Fang is a calm and cool-headed person. He is often polite and knows how to stay at the background, as he doesn't enjoy the attention of a large group. Often he is also having trouble with reacting back if somebody compliments him, often grumbling or muttering that they need to thank or compliment him if he is really done with something. Fang does however takes pride in what he consider himself good in, though he is more than humble enough to realize when he is being outmatched and thus needs to either back down or try a different approach.
Furthmore, he does have a hard time to bond with people due his natural distrust of other people. Even though he will behave in a polite fashion, it does take some effort before he goes out of his own way in order to help somebody else, even if he doesn't directly benefit from helping another.
Fang grew up in the slums of Woduhe. Both his parents had came from the Fire Nation as they had heard from Fang's father's brother that living in Viola was a blessing. However, they soon realized that the man had lied and just tried to work his way out with spinning fairy tales that Viola could provide a better life than anywhere in the Fire Nation. Bitter and disappointed, Fang's parents were thus forced to try to work hard to find a job. And when they managed to find one, it would took even more effort to keep it. After all, it is rather easy to hire somebody else who will work harder and longer and for less. This caused quite some grief at the young couple, who had dreamed to settle down where they could start a nice family.
For the first few years they managed to barely keep staying alive from the few coins they made. When Fang was however born, it didn't last long. His mother had some complications at the birth of Fang and caused her to be weakened and growing ill. This left his father to work harder in order to provide for his spouse and son. It didn't only took a toll on the man's physical condition but also mental. He started to drink more as he was growing desperate and saw almost no other way to escape the misery that was overruling his life.
Eventually Fang's mother died when Fang had became six years old. His father had became an alcoholic and the relationship between Fang and his father wasn't a healthy one. Most of the time they would exchange curses and shouts at each other, resulting that Fang would either run away or receive a beating from his old man. On the street Fang was often busy with doing what the typical street urchin do. Pickpocket people, picking fights with other kids and what not.
It would continue on like that until Fang reached the age of twelve. He tried to pickpocket what he believed to be an easy target. An old man that was sitting on a bench, apparently fallen asleep. After Fang tried to reach into the pocket of the old man's jacket, his wrist was grabbed and learned that the old man had waken up. Expecting to be in trouble, Fang tried to intimidate the man, but met the ground before he could blink with his eyes. Aggressive and angry, Fang tried to lung and beat the old man up, but every time the old man would work Fang with ease against the ground. Eventually until Fang had enough of it, the two started to talk. The old man asked why Fang had tried to pickpocket Fang and why not looking for a more honest living. Saying he couldn't think of one, the man offered him the chance of his life. To learn one honest profession.
The old man was a scholar that had been once a mercenary. But he had given that up in order to travel and see more of the world. Taking Fang as his apprentice, the young boy started to learn how to read and write. Something that Fang in the begin disgusted as he knew that no street urchin could just read and write as it wasn't necessary or handy when you wanted to beat somebody up. But he didn't want to go back to the street, so he tried his best. Next to lessons on how to behave, the man also passed down marital arts. A subject where Fang managed to shine in. Though it would take many a years before he was even close of managing to beat his old master in hand to hand combat or with the use of a sword, Fang managed to become better with each passing year.
During these trainings, Fang also received meditation lessons in order how to control himself. The old man knew how to firebend, but wasn't willing to teach Fang how to do so if he couldn't keep himself under control. Else he would be a danger to everybody around him. Only when Fang reached the age of nineteen, did he received those lessons. They were strange and almost out of another world for him as he at first couldn't co-op with how bending worked. After the first two months, Fang almost had given up on it as it was more meditation than actual training. But after a few training sessions, Fang learned was introduced into something that renewed his motivation to strive to learn how to firebend.
He was introduced to the group of the Shadow Blades and though he was first not sure if it was either just a sort of club or really an organization with a purpose, Fang enrolled into the organization with the rather ominous name. His old teacher and master was one of the few recruiters and would pass the knowledge of the organization on Fang, so that he would one day could take over the tasks of his old master. But before that could happen, he would need to pass some of the secret tests. It took all his skill and he even joked at the time, all his luck, but fang managed to pass the somewhat grim and harsh tests to see if he was capable of becoming a Shadow Blade. Entering the organization as a trainee, Fang managed to gain some mastery over Fire Bending. For several years he has stayed with his old mentor, continue to gain better control and mastery over his bending and swordsmanship. He was however requested to leave his old mentor at the age of twenty three, required to travel to Omashu in order to help and reinforce the base of operations of the Shadow Blades at that region.
For two years, Fang went under the cover of being a simple owner of an antic shop. Though he kept training and honing his skills, he was needed to try to gather information about a place that is called 'The Library of Wan Shi Tong'. Why or for what reason the organization was so keen on trying to find information about it remain to this day unknown for Fang, but recently he has gained a new objective. One that would mean he had to travel again, trying to find for more hints as he had been promoted and became a full fledged member of the Shadow Blades.
* Fang isn't particular fond of telling how he has received the scar near his nose, often turning into a grumpy mood.
* Fang has developed the habit of counting the strikes whenever he sharpens his weapons. Something that can work on some people nerves as he keep doing it, weapon after weapon.
* Though he doesn't like to admit it, Fang is a capable teacher as he has can pass the teachings, training and lessons that he once received to somebody that he could consider worthy.
* Furthermore, Fang has a fear for feeling an affection for somebody. The reasons have yet to be revealed.
* Fang's Blade,
The weapon of choice for Fang as he wields the dao sword with great expertise, using it often with some fire bending to increase his fighting capabilities. It is been made from good quality steel and can be considered to be anything but cheap. It had been a sort of gift from his old mentor when he enrolled into the Shadow Blades. A reason why Fang is very fond of the weapon.
* Ankle Biters,
Two sharp steel knives that Fang have often concealed, for use when he can't swing around with his sword or needs to go to a place where weapons aren't allowed.
Regular Fire Bender,
Capable of sneaking around,
Good in making plans,
Due his training from a certain young age, as one can read from his history, Fang is a capable swordsman as well having learned how be effective with other sort of weaponry, mostly using his knives as secondary choice of weapons. He has been trained to a fire bending level of being Regular. Other than that, he is capable of sneaking around and can be considered silver tongued, a skill and trait he has found handy with his occupation.
Name Luca Céleste
Length and Build 1.76m | He’s quite flexible and somewhat strong-armed but his not-so-well-trained body makes him look a bit wimpy.
Birthplace Northern Water Tribe
Personality Luca seems very easy to understand; he’s caring and kind towards people close to him. He values friendship above all else, but doesn’t consider everyone he gets to know and doesn’t hate as his ‘friends’. He likes to have few true friends whom he could trust completely, even with his life.
He also has a rather mischievous side that somewhat lacks in empathy. Although he wouldn’t go so far to be qualified ‘merciless’, he cares little for strangers. He used to steal from random people, not really caring much about their need for what he took.
Backstory Almost two decades ago, the Céleste family lived comfortably, if not too much so, in the Northern Water Tribe. The parents had gotten quite rich running a tech company. They had one child on the way and a 6 year old daughter, Assan. Soon later, the second child was born, a boy that would receive the name Luca. The jade blue eyed boy was the first waterbender in the last two generations. Sadly, his parents wouldn’t be around for too long to see him and his sister grow.
Soon after Luca was born, his parents vanished without leaving a trace. They were never found, nor was there any result from the investigations. Thus, the new orphans were given to the care of a trusted servant of their family. Assan grew to be a calm and collected young girl in a few years, while Luca was more… destructive. As a child, he was quite reckless. While he played, ice sculptures worth hundreds of gold coins would turn into water in an instant, pouring down like the money would down a drain. He could never contain himself, always running around the house or playing with the snow and water outside. The closest person to him was always his sister, though she would often yell at him for damaging the house.
Being in the south pole, it was quite difficult to find a proper teacher, but one was found nonetheless to homeschool the brother and sister.
They both moved to Omashu along with the growing company which was trying to expand. This was around the time Luca turned 10, and the first time the two had left their homes. At that point, he hadn't any ornaments to turn to water, so he found new ways to play. This was the point he started reading more and more often. He became calmer and more docile as he read more. The kinds of books he read varied from fiction to scientific literature. The new worlds he discovered aroused the will to discover the one he was in. He became more attentive during his classes so he could get rid of them quickly to be free to do whatever he wanted, to go wherever he wanted.
By the time he turned 13, he was done with his mandatory courses. He packed some of the things he'd need on his adventure after his planned silent escape: notebook, pencils, a pouch filled with water and some of the money left to him by his parents. Before long, he vanished, starting his adventure from that young age.
He got his fair share of adventures... His first course of action was to get on a train to go to Omashu. Just as he got off the wagon at the stations, a few guards greeted the passengers. Luca squeezed out of the station quickly. He found himself at the walled city on the mountain. The first day was by far the most challenging. It was the first time he had to take care of himself. He considered going back several times but such cowardice would hardly be poetic. He walked into a hotel and rented a room, spending half of his money to stay in a luxurious room where he felt at home. He blew off the rest of his money the next day, buying souvenirs. Finding himself with no money and a hungry stomach, the boy didn’t eat for the entire day, for noblemen do not go begging; they steal. When the moon rose, Luca did what he did best: cause trouble. People had found their crops ripped from the soil and taken, their money grabbed from their homes.
Luca fled the scene of crime by morning, boarding the train to go to the next city. At one point throughout his adventures, he was even found out and detained for some time. He escaped and continued his journey from thereon, becoming more and more skilled at avoiding police officers and getting away with whatever he did. 3 years after his escape, he returned home, slightly matured. His sister had grown as well; she’d taken over the family business, had made it grow quite a bit. She could spare little time for her brother who had been gone for quite some time. Since the day he came back, Luca left Ba Sing Se for the first time, headed for the train station.
Equipment Luca always, always carries a sack of water across the back of his waist that opens from both sides. He claims it’s because he’s always thirsty but since it’s strapped to him, it seems inconvenient to most people who see him. Another thing he never parts from is his pen and small sketchbook that fits into his wee pocket.
From time to time, he takes a backpack with him when he goes out. Whenever he takes it, he carries his tools for drawing in it, as well as a small instrument known as the ocarina.
Skills He’s quite acrobatic and flexible, being able to move around with ease, be it upwards or downwards, as long as he has something to step on. His ability to learn with great ease is the one thing that sets him apart from most people.
Since he was immersed into a culture where waterbending was celebrated and encouraged, he honed his abilities to a point where he could be considered impressive for his age.
Although his combative skills are far from perfect, he has been honing two other forms of art for quite some time. He’s quite a capable artist. A great talent that he has is drawing, and the other is musical. Currently, he only carries the instrument that he loves the most with him, but he’s familiar with stringed instruments as well.
Shiue An of the Northern Water tribe.
Name - Shiue An
Gender - ♀
Age - 16
Length and Build - Average height - Decent lower body/leg strength, core strength is her best attribute. Poor arm strength. Agile.
Weight - 50 Kg (Approx.)
Art by Aogami
Tan skin decorated by the occasional freckle, she has few scars, none made by combat. A few small scars on her through household accidents and one scar on her shin after tripping and cutting it on a rock. That one long thin line has pretty much faded apart from the feint purple, lightly translucent skin around it that most scars have. It's almost always covered anyway.
Large, slightly angled eyes with a slight curvature to it. Her irises are dark brown and her pupils are often quite dilated. Her brows match the colour of her hair and are well kept.
Long brown hair that reaches about mid-way down her back, she likes to keep it well cared for, her uncle says that presentation is a subconscious advantage in leadership, to look wise or well kept would make you more trust-able.
She has a fitter core than the rest of her body. Her legs have the second best strength to them and she is often seen as a keen runner. She seems partially proportionate in the most part. At a first glance there would be no distinguishing mark about her body type and it's often seen in a person like her.
She has slender - soft hands, unspoiled by the rough touch of a blade. A freckle resides on her palm in almost the same spot on both hands, just beside where the thumb joins the palm.
She has a round face and a soft look to it, not angular. Her features are well balanced with a slightly upturned nose making her look slightly snobby.
Other features -
She has a birthmark on her back, a small brown patch between her shoulder blades which curves slightly, like a bean.
Birthplace - Northern Water Tribe
Organization - N/A
Element - Water
Sub-Element - Not yet learnt
Personality - Shiue is an adventurous character with enthusiastic ways and a spark in her eyes that longs for adventure, however she'll bite off more than she can chew most of the time and will overwhelm and crash inwards on herself with too much stress. She's sheltered to any real danger. She probably thinks she's all that and really important and skilled but in real situations she could crumble under the importance of her actions and the intensity of the scenes. The sheltering live as a water tribe 'Royal' meant little hunting herself but as of recent years she has gotten out into the fray, but surrounded by well trained individuals, fights can seem easier than they really are.
Backstory - Born into the water tribe's leadership family, the niece of the leader, she never felt too much stress to learn waterbending. It was like a fun hobby that she did to just mess around with, she was close with her uncle who was ready to supply ample amounts of leadership wisdom onto her should there be a day when she is trusted unto leadership, of anything. She knew that she wouldn't lead the tribe and if she did it would be under dire consequences. She never wanted that to happen. She often spent her days with her family, playing and having general fun while she had a happy childhood.
When she reached the age of ten, the hunters and gatherers and their work piqued her interest, Shiue started to go with them and learn how to gather, before she began learning to hunt. Still being rather young she is weaker and doesn't quite reach being a professional at either hunting or gathering. In her spare time her mother and father helped her hone her bending abilities so she is able to fully control water at her will, despite not very powerfully, and began testing other water-based methods of bending.
Equipment - A knife, never touched and very showy - it's a pale, white almost, metal with dark blue engravings, little rune-like drawings and swirls like water, the blade itself reflects light making it look fluid in itself.
Skills - A good runner and agile, poor strength.

Name: Ming Xiang
Length and Build: 5'9", athletic build
Weight: Unless you want a slap in the face, I'd suggest not asking that question.
Usually wearing rather promiscuous and revealing outfits, Ming Xiang is a 5'9" girl with small packs of muscle located around the entirety of her body and small breasts. She usually binds her hands and long hair with tight, long strips of cloth and her bright yellow eyes are lit with a spark of mischief. Usually, she carries herself with an air of self-confidence and the pride of a secret-keeper.
Birthplace: The Red Orchid, Downtown District, Shangtan City
Current Location: The streets of Shangtan City
Organization: Head of the Shangtan Stompers
Sub-Element (Not achieved yet) Metalbending
"Caged and happy never can keep me - starving wolves at least die free!"
Ming Xiang is a hardened woman. On the surface her demeanour is somewhat naive and childish, poking fun at people and jumping around with her earthbending, making things into a game when she can. When she flirts, she flirts jokingly. When she speaks, it's usually with a tinge of light-hearted merriment behind it and her body language is dripping with self-confidence and extravagant gestures, as if she was performing for a show of sorts.
However, when one scratches past the surface, Ming Xiang is craftier and more sombre than she lets off to be. She can be downright intimidating at some times due to her career as a street fighter, and even at such a young age she is somewhat desensitized by the sight of death. She can also be very protective of her gang members and of younger people, and tends to take the blame for those she trusts the most.
She's a bloody good liar, too.
"Fight to win, stand above, all the dead on the ground..."
Ming Xiang was born as a glorious accident. Her mother was, for lack of better works, a sex worker across the streets of Shangtan City who met up with an Earthbender and was given a hefty sum of money for her services. Full of greed, she took the money and gladly performed what she usually did, and accidentally became pregnant with his child; only to find that the man had fled the city a few days after due to charges of murder. Ming Xiang's mother tolerated the child inside of her womb, nervous of how she would turn out, whether she'd be more like her murdering father than herself.
Luckily, Ming Xiang was born a rather pretty, gentle baby girl with auburn eyes which lightened into the yellowy gold as she matured. For three years Ming Xiang's mother looked after her closely, to the best of her abilities, in the Red Orchid Teahouse where she was birthed. Unfortunately a few months after her third birthday, Mind Xiang's mother went to walk the streets of the city to gain some more money and never returned. The Teahouse owner, Big Bo, took Ming Xiang under her wing (along with a myriad of other street kids from the Downtown District). Whilst her intentions were noble, she was rougher than Ming Xiang's mother and didn't pick favourites. An adept Earthbender to keep the rowdier customers at bay, she generally taught the mixture of workers and children incredibly simple earth-bending tricks in the evenings - if, of course, they were able to - such as levitating pieces of gravel, and making bricks, in the hopes that they could improve to an acceptable level and be able to work in the factories.
Ming enjoyed playing with her new brothers and sisters, and was taught a bunch of new games which mainly involved vandalism and petty thievery of things such as sweets and toys from the run-down cornershops around the crowded Downtown district. The older children tended to be violent and indifferent to her small group of accomplices and, irritated at their lack of manners, Ming resolved that she wouldn't grow up to be as self-centred as the juvenile criminals that were developing before her. She grew up in a lifestyle of bullying, poverty and a large group of friends, crushed together in a jungle of tall buildings and support columns.
She actively got into underground brawling in her teenage years instead of going for the oldest profession as her mother did. It did not stop drunken men from trying their luck, whether she consented or not; which only spurred Ming to get better and more well-known as a street fighter. Her friends were growing up too - some died of illness in the harshest of winters, others got in too deep and found themselves in prison. The cluster of teenagers aptly named themselves "The Shangtan Stompers", becoming something of an irritation on the local police forces as they showed off to onlookers with flashy earthbending mixed with parkour to create "streetstomping". Over the years, the gang dwindled in numbers but Ming Xiang kept a strong face about it all, looking after the newer children in the Red Orchid when she wasn't street brawling, and on the rare moments when she had time she even busied herself trying to self-learn metalbending.
Now Ming remains in Shangtan City but her position as gang leader grows tiresome. She is actively looking for an opportunity, a piece of luck to get her out of the city and into the world, to the point where she's wandering dangerously close to the upper-class Embassy district in the hopes of finding something to shape her future with, whilst being painfully aware that her name is down as one of the notorious gang leaders and brawlers.
◯ A bag full of gravel
◯ Rolls of filthy bandages
◯ Whatever she manages to steal
◯ Ripped-off wanted posters of her ex-gang members
Wooh, finished! I'll make a post about the Shangtan Stompers at some point too but there's most of the history of the gang in Ming Xiang's backstory too, since she grew up with them at her heels.
Name: Yun Hui
Length and Build
5’9, has a bit of upper body strength but not enough to show, seems rather slim.
(Art by Tuuuh)
Birthplace: Unknown, believed to be Zisei
Location: Shangtan City
Personality: Yun’s lazy nature has netted him trouble more than once and though he wouldn’t admit it due to his pride he can be a bit of a coward, ultimately it depends on which one wins out given the situation. Perhaps due to his teachings he has a hard time ignoring people in trouble and this constantly conflicts with his desire to be selfish.
He tends to put on a front to hide his lack of confidence trying to act brave in the face of his fear which may be one of the few decent traits about him, but as he has no problem living to fight another day it get’s canceled out often.
Backstory: Yun’s history is sketchy at best, a Nomad by the name of Tain Zan took him in when he found him at the entrance to the Eastern Air Temple.
Though hesitant about the abandoned Yun he didn’t have the heart to leave the child on its own so Yun grew up at the temple along the other Nomads, being taught by them and learning their history.
One day when he was a young child he was watching the monks Airbending and asked to be taught it, Tain informed him that he couldn’t do so since he couldn’t bring forth the air but Yun’s continuous pestering caused him to at the very least teach him the movements.
For years Yun practiced martial arts alongside Tain everyday, to him and Tain it was bonding and he looked forward to it each time.
However one day while they were practicing Yun punched his fist forward and air exploded out of it before knocking a monk back sending him flying a few feet back.
Tain seeing this was shocked as he assumed Yun was a non-bender.
Time passed and Tain taught Yun how to use his Airbending but Yun didn’t have a talent for it, due to his lack of self-control and impatience; he was inferior to the other monks and lost quite often against most of his opponents who he challenged.
Tain who was already concerned watched Yun fail constantly with a heavy heart, a part of him knew what Yun’s Airbending meant and he wasn’t surprised when Yun started to speak against the Airbender’s rules.
Yun hated they couldn’t do anything against the Earthbenders, and seeing as the Southern Temple had been ransacked he expected the same to happen to them if no action was taken.
When his words fell on deaf ears when Yun turned fifteen he decided to leave the temple and packing his things went to depart.
To his surprise Tian was waiting for him near the entrance and delivered a message that stuck with him.
“We’ll meet again when you fully learn what I taught you.”
Those words stuck with Yun as he traveled away from the temple into a world he knew almost nothing about, but he wanted to change things and figured he needed to act in order to accomplish that.
He was wrong however in pursuing it alone, he realized quickly how difficult it was to change others and learned humility very quickly.
He was beaten down by an EarthBender and had his money stolen, then a Firebender who stole his glider for reasons he still doesn’t know, then WaterBending adolescents froze him in ice and drew on his face.
He even tried facing a non-bender and woke up in an alley without his newly bought shoes.
Yun learned quickly he didn’t have the strength to do anything and has been wandering ever since managing to get himself lost in a strange city.
Soru carries a small folding fan with him which he uses to give his Airbending a bit more force though due to its size it’s not incredibly effective
A bag of marbles for his acts and if necessary mini projectiles
Skills: Soru is a decent fighter when it comes to close hand to hand combat though his Airbending is pretty bad (Level 1), he’s agile able to maneuver around and is generally all he uses his Airbending for and has a fair bit of endurance from all the running and performances he’s done also the times when he has to fight.
Hiding is one of his specialties since he prefers to avoid getting into fights.
Though he’s gotten used to them over his four years of traveling he still prefers keeping at least two feet between him and another woman, he’s fine around men though.
Yun not wanting to steal normally street performs to earn his pay, this is not always successful and forced him to learn to survive in the woods
He has a decent knowledge of edible plants having learned the hard way which weren't.
Name: Shun Min
Length and Build: 1.69m, Short and slim
Appearance: Shun is a short and slim-looking guy who doesn't look like he's worth much. He has a slightly aged look on his face, as normal for a man of his age. He has short black hair tied in a simple tail. He also has a short black beard and moustache, making him look extremely average on first sight.
Birthplace: A small village in the Fire Nation.
Organization: His own profits.
Element: ...of surprise
Personality: Shun is a world-wise man who is cynical to the bone. He is wary of strangers and doesn't trust anyone in the world for a penny. He's got a knack for being unfriendly, mean and even cruel, but in fact he is simply indifferent to anyone but himself. He does have his standards and morals though, and is secretly a bit of an idealist in his beliefs, but he'd never show that to anyone.
Backstory: Shun was born to a Fire Nation fisherman, a food producing ordinary man of which the bulk of any Nation still was composed. All the fancy steamy-tech in the world still relied on the hard and endless work of thousands, even millions of simple people like him. However, as poverty struck every once in a while due to the hard and long work not always being as effective as hoped, Shun also began working as a smuggler along with his father. He was suspected of it, and every once in a while he'd get into serious trouble with the Fire Nation's navy. This only got him even more involved in the criminal network, untill one day he was caught in a crossfire with his ship beached.
Fire Nation navy shells whistled past into fiery explosions, and Shun was seriously injured by exploding shrapnel, resulting in a wide and ugly scar on his thigh he still has today. His father and he sought cover from the raging inferno as bandits returned fire with whatever they had, untill a dud, an unexploded round, found Shun's father. That's when Shun became a criminal set for revenge. After more than a decade of being involved in all kind of criminal cases, Shun set a trap for a group of Fire Nation veteran sailors, killing them by setting off the dud he had retrieved from his father's chest.
Eversince that day he's been stuck in the criminal life, knowing literally no other craft except fishing, but he sure doesn't feel like doing out there again, sitting on a miserable wooden thing, catching the sea's inhabitants. Instead he took part in professional thievery, abductions, assassinations, drug dealing and stealing candy from little children.
He has a strange device he has built himself which he calls his 'Personal Firebender' Essentially it's a wooden stock with a hollow metal tube, similar to Fire Nation naval cannons, with an opening in the breech where usually the firebender propels the charge forwards with his bending. Shun has replaced the firebender with a dose of the charge that's also found inside the charges fired by Fire Nation naval shells, and ignites that with ... his smoking. Of course, over he made the design more effective, and now he even has some sort of buttin included to open the breech so he can ignite the charge to fire the weapon. This way he won't accidentally fire a leaden bullet somewhere by just aiming and smoking at the same time. Naturally, with such a strange weapon, accidents do happen.
Also, he has a dagger of sorts.
Due to his unique way of life Shun has gained a very specific set of skills oriented to surviving in most environments with human population nearby. Thse skills mostly resort to being able to get out of somewhere as fast as by running as by talking. He has never received an official training of sorts, and all of his skills are self-thought, or learned from someone pulling them on him.
Fast wits and brains
Theme Song: Just for fun :)
Shun is a massive chainsmoker and quitted drug user, and he has a slight limp from being hit by shrapnel when he was young.

Mei is a calm and calculated person. She isn't the type to favor to dive into action without any plan or back-up prepared. She favors most of the time silence and peace as Mei has began to travel around to escape busy places. But on occasion, she does love to explore cities and try to learn what new culture and such she can encounter. Furthermore, though she tries to be a good person, Mei isn't without flaws. She can be unforgiving and cruel towards people she regards as scum, while she has for example no trouble with stealing from people who she deems to have enough. In other words, she can be quite a hypocrite at times, often giving what she considers a good reason.
Mei was born in a rather simple family. Both her parents owned and worked in a bakery. Nothing really special as she also had some siblings, but Mei isn't fond of talking about that part. She has been taught to read as her parents were able to afford her some simple education with the income of the bakery, which ran quite nice. Not that her life was always fine and fun in her youth as she had to work often with her siblings, which meant that she didn't always was capable of playing outside or do a lot of fun her friends had. But Mei didn't mind working for the life she had.
As she grew up, Mei started to read books in her spare time. Often reading before going to bed or on rainy days, she retreated herself where she could read in peace as she tried to learn more about the world outside the city. She read about tales of people who traveled around and saw magnificent things. Things that Mei had never seen or could dream off. Such as ice bergs or rain forests or even desserts. All she had were books that whispered softly promises that she could find those things in the world and that made Mei eager to head out and travel. This didn't go that peacefully as her parents refused to let a young teenager just head out and venture in a world she thought to be nice and cozy. They tried first to talk the idea out of Mei's head, but over time they had to take more drastic matters in hand. They went that far to arrange a marriage, hoping that would prevent their stubborn and naive daughter to just venture in the world.
But Mei wasn't that naive, at least in her version of the whole ordeal. She had trained herself to try to be able to face what could be a danger for her. Though she had no bending skills or any master that could instruct her into fighting with an edged weapon, Mei's wit allowed her to stay often out of fights. Working on her condition outdoors, she kept trying to stuff her head with knowledge.
In the end, she ran away from the world she knew. Away from what she considered once dear to her.
For four years, Mei has traveled around some locations, often taking temporary small jobs in order to earn some coin along the way. Often she would use her knowledge to aid somebody or keep herself out of trouble, while she managed to pick up a few skills along the way.
* Mei doesn't take compliments that well. She either shrugs them silently off or mutters something back.
* She is a great fan of animals, often getting excited when she encounters an animal she had never seen before or an animal she adores. However, this doesn't include fish and reptiles. She also hates insects.
* Mei's Parasol
*Look in the appearance image*
Mei uses this as a tool for comfort, for when it is raining or when the sun is shining very brightly. She is however proficient with it in combat, using it as a staff to whack people's head or sweeping them of their feet.
*Throwing knives (total of twelve)
Knives that are strapped underneath the arm guards that Mei wears and at her waist, allowing her to quickly grabbing a knife and use it to throw, stab or smear peanut butter on a sandwich.
- Mei is quite good at hand to hand combat, using her quick reflexes and reflexes to defend herself. She has also developed a rather specialized fighting style with her umbrella.
- Has a very good accurate skill at aiming, which she uses with throwing her knives.
- Can read and write, though don't ask her for poetry or such. She is bad at it.
- Quite knowledgeable, often knowing what one can and shouldn't eat.
Warriors of Kyoshi
Kimiko has a lithe and athletic tone, her muscle structure reflecting years of hard work and dedication. Her hair is a dark brown, her eyes dark brown as well. She is usually adorned in her ceremonial attire, but is often also seen in plain clothing, usually earthy tones.
The young woman is considered attractive to most, her girlish features suiting her well. Her hair is about shoulder length, but is sometimes put up using pins that occasionally double as weapons.

Kimiko is a naturally curious sort, and enjoys learning what she can. While often very active and outgoing, she has her more introverted traits. Sometimes she just wants to be alone, usually when working on her poetry. However, she occasionally allows a close friend to be around her. She very rarely shares her poetry.
Typically proper and polite, Kimiko has a reputation for being trustworthy and kind, while also occasionally displaying some form of teen angst, usually in acts of irritated arguing. Kimiko is very set in her beliefs, is highly opinionated, and is rarely afraid to voice her opinions or reasons behind them.
Kimiko is generally considered honest to a fault, and refuses to lie aside from very rare occurrences. While she generally prefers the company of other women, she can get along with most men. She will not however tolerate misogynistic behavior, and detests macho attitudes.
Kimiko was born and raised on Kyoshi Island, brought up in their various traditions and ways of life. Her parents were simple folk, and were proud that their daughter posessed an ambition they did not. From a young age she e joyed learning as much as possible, and took a particular liking to the Warriors of Kyoshi. It was no surprise when she joined them at a fairly young age.
Kyoshi Island is a peaceful place, as such Kimiko has never known war or much of the terrible things the world has to offer. She has heard tell of the past troubles, recent as well, but has been blissfully innocent of it. Still, she is no stranger to danger.
A few years ago a vessel arrived by sea, apparently filled with pirates. They lured a small group of girls onto their vessel with promises of pretty baubles and clothing from around the world. Naively, Kimiko and the others boarded, only to be captured with the intent of selling them as slaves. Fortunately for her and the others, the Warriors of Kyoshi discovered this and saved them.
This event both solidified her dedication to the Warriors as well as her ambition to join them. It also established her distaste for misinformation, ignorance, and more so, natural naivete. From then on she became somewhat xenophobic and mistrusting of strangers.
Length and Build
Stands at about 5’5” (1.651m) with a very slim yet athletic build.
120 lb (54kg)
The girl has light brown hair with streaks of golden blond kept in a braid with many different colored ribbons and string weaved in and ends just below her shoulder blades. Her skin is fairly tanned but not terribly dark. She has mixed blue(L) and green(R) eyes. Recently she’s been complaining the eyesight in her right eye but so far hasn’t done anything about it. Her clothes in comparison to the rest of her are rather plain typically consisting of a white t-shirt, black trousers made of a light material(often tucked into her boots), well-worn leather boots, a brown cloak that ends just before her ankles, and a large brown sunhat with feathers tucked into the black band.
Jia is an exceedingly social character and has been compared to a noisy bird that just goes on and on without end at times, and backed up in the sense of by her odd attraction pretty ribbons, feathers, and rocks(which often get handed off to small children in the streets or those who view her performances). She is very kind though and will shut up if she notices (or is told) that the other party is uncomfortable. Very few people have been have been able to tick her off, typically only getting a chuckle at their attempt. She has a hobby of telling stories of which she comes up with as she travels. It’d also be a good idea to mention she despises those who harm without reason. She has a habit of hiding her pain, both physical and mental.
Jia was brought up in one of the nomadic groups of the Air Nation and traveled along a well-known route. It wasn’t the kindest of ways to grow up, travel was tough on the feet and food wasn’t always available, but the group she was raised in was filled with some of the most kindhearted people. An older “uncle” taught her how to hunt with a bow to help bring in food when they were on the road, and her parents taught her how to use air bending when the realized she was able to. Both were hard skills to learn as the longbow required a great amount of strength , and air bending a great amount of patience of which a young child lacked. In time she did end up learning both to some degree. She was made a good shot in archery but wasn’t able to create a strong gust after years of practice. She did however learned to use it in more delicate ways.
Between hunting and training, the girl practiced dancing on her own and used her air bending to make ribbons and colored paper dance around with her. At first it was just for fun and she was embarrassed to be seen but soon enough the small traveling group she considered her family coaxed her out to perform for them and she slowly grew out of the embarrassment. Later she was even found by a traveling performance group at around age fifteen, who offered her to join. Interested in seeing the world, she took them up on the offer.
Traveling with them was fun even with all the hard work and practice that came with performing in front of large crowds and nobles. Unlike with her family there was always enough food, though that didn’t persuade Jia to stop from hunting to bring home fresh meat once she got sick of smoked goods. It was with them that she picked up her interest of storytelling and singing as she listened to the bards. Also while traveling with them that she received her traveling companion, a kitten that was gifted to her by one of her fellow performers. The group fell apart with the leader’s death about a year ago and Jia had been traveling alone doing street and sometimes private performances on request along with some regular jobs when she couldn’t get the money.
In terms of anything that can be considered remotely dangerous she owns a longbow and a dozen arrows, an iron knife for skinning animals, and a walking stick.
Otherwise, she has a backpack that holds a pouch with her money, a fur blanket, various other pouches containing random things like ribbons and stones, some dried meats and fruits, a leather bound notebook, a pen and spare clothes.
And her cat (Resembles a savannah cat)
-The girl’s skill at archery is good but due to her declining eyesight, her aim isn’t always perfect. It also means she has OK upper body strength.
-Her air bending is extremely weak, only being able to pick up small animals at best, but well controlled.
-Jia’s main focus is not her skill I fighting but in her love for dancing which gives her fairly good stamina and flexibility/agility
Jinhai Su, peru
Length and Build:
1,80m, pretty athletic build.
Based on this picture by sinuswave-art
Things of note. He wears closed high boots unlike the ones shown in the picture. His eyes are dark brown and can pack a mean look when he is angry, a look that means that he doesn't want to be messed with or you will end up where you don't want to be. He is rather muscular because of his fighting experience.
Jinhai is a fairly decent guy. Not overly nice in general, but not mean either. He takes life as it comes and can have a good sense of humor about him. As long as you don't piss him off. Doing the job he does, Jinhai is all out of fucks to give for the people that don't listen to him. If they refuse to pay respect to him in his own establishment then they get kicked out. If they break anything then they damn sure make sure that they get out. And be asured that Jinhai can handle himself enough to kick you out. He is someone who assesses a situation quickly and judges fast, maybe sometimes a bit too fast.
To his friends Jinhai is a good guy. He is a fun drinker, slightly cynical at times, but never lets them stand in the cold. However, he is not the type of guy that will forsake everything if one of his mates gets in a shitload of trouble. How they fuck up their lives is their business alone, not his. They can ask him for help, but should know not to cross the boundries and ask ridiculous things.
Jinhai is someone who can be determined in his conviction whenether this is in winning a fight or holding a grudge. During the years this has died down a bit, but he can still be stubborn at times if he believes he is right and other's say he isn't. He lives his life by his rules and not by those of others.
Jinhai was born and bred in Shangtan City. His father owned a bar/inn that had been in the family for 2 generations now and which was the place where he had met his wife. The received their first and only child quite late. His father was already way past his forties and his mother was nearing that age. After Jinhai there was just no way he would get a sibling. So he grew up in the bar by himself and loved every day of it. He was a rather likable kid that didn't have trouble finding friends among the street tugs on the streets. He would help his family in the bar and even spend several years attending half day school classes. His father wanted him to take over the place at some point. He had to know how to read and do some basic math. Yet most of his time was spend in the area behind the bar because next to the fact that people could drink themselves to their deaths in the bar they could also find another way to relieve stress. Behind the bar one of the few not-totally-legal fighting rings of the city could be found. This was the place were people could fight against each other, were bets could be placed and money could be gambled away. Jinhai loved it. It just looked amazing. Benders, non-benders, going at each other. As soon as he was old enough to walk and talk he asked his father to let him fight too.
And his father said no.
The man wasn't stupid. The fighters in that ring were no nice guys that helped a young guy grow. They would trample all over Jinhai if he got in their way. Jinhai, however, kept begging. He tried to sneak into a couple of fights, but that didn't work out so well. His father always dragged him out and his mother got mad at him for it. He was fifteen when he got in his first true ring fight. Of course, he had done some small things on the streets, you never escaped them if you were hanging out with street guys, but nothing major. But when he was fifteen his father, for the first time, let him go. Maybe he was sick of the begging, maybe he thought that it was a good lesson, either way he let the boy go and Jinhai got completely pummeled.
He didn't give up though. No, this was just the beginning of his fighting carrière. He kept at it, begging his father to teach him the techniques he used to keep the fighters at bay. So his father trained him in the art of hand in hand combat and chi blocking. Jinhai didn't use the latter skill very much in the beginning, wanting to prove that he could beat both non-benders and benders alike without falling back on such a cheap trick, but gradually he came to like it. And he was rather good at it too.
So life went on for a while. Jinhai grew older, more experienced, beat a lot of people and gained quite some respect of the people around him. Slowly the excitement he had first felt for the fighting started to fade (besides he had beaten a lot of them already) and he stopped fighting in the ring all togetherwhen he had to take over the bar. He became more cynical and less enjoyable. With him looking after the bar he started to realize what his father had been doing all these years, how he had to keep the peace in this fighting mass of people, how he had kept him away from that. He had to keep on his toes and up his fighting skills During his first years owning the bar he met a woman which whom he would share some years of his life. Lian was as lovely as her name suggested as they were quite happy together. When Jinhai was 25 she bore him a son which they named Huan.
When Jinhai entered his thirties his parents died in peace and Jinhai had to run the bar completely by himself. When he was 33 he and Lian broke up. No long fights, no longwinded arguments, they just broke up. It was better that way. Huan, who was 8 at that time, went to live with his mother, but he drops by as often as he can and Jinhai does expect his son to some day take over the bar as well. Huan reminds him a lot of himself as the boy seems just as excited about the fighting as he was himself when he was that small.
Currently Jinhai still runs the bar and is rather content with his life. He is respected in the area as regarded as someone you don't mess with. If you do you might end up somewhere in an ally unable to move at least for several hours.

Aiko is a person who is easy to describe as joy and cheerful, energetic and overall playful. Many consider her due this not that very smart or being capable of being serious. While she is of nature quite playful, Aiko is however more than capable of being serious. It can be said by those who know her well, which aren't many, that she is perfectly able to use her antics, manners and looks in order to not attract too much suspicion. A skill that she requires for her line of work.
Furthermore, Aiko has her own rather odd kind of honor. Though she is serious about being an assassin, she hasn't her price always set on money. Those who have hired her on occasion, might find her requesting a favor or action back. This is because of Aiko's honor that gold alone can't equal a life. And because she can't demand the life of a patron of her services, she tries to think of other ways to pay her back.
Born and raised in Viola, under the care of two loving parents, Aiko's childhood wasn't much exciting as her current line of work is. Her parents were the owners of an apothecary, meaning that they had a decent income. Enough to let Aiko go to a normal school, where she learned how to read and write. Unlike some of her peers, Aiko was always eager to read a book. To learn, to discover. Her curiosity kept growing and she eventually seemed to pursue the goal to become like her parents, one day perhaps taking over the store.
But due an accident, Aiko lost both her parents at the age of fourteen. A fire had broken out, while Aiko had been at school. Though the store had been saved, more or less, her parents had both perished in the flames. This shocked Aiko to her very core, turning the cheerful and curious young teenager in a silent one for two years. During that time she took a different path, wanting to gain revenge. But on whom? And how?
These two questions kept going through her head as she spent many a day trying to get in better shape. It was just training for the sake of that cold anger, to want justice be done. Only to sob and wonder during the evenings for what it was going to do. What would she achieve with petty revenge? Only those two years later, Aiko realised how folly she had been.
Turning back into the cheerful, optimistic and curious person she had been, Aiko started to pursue herbal knowledge as she had managed to find a rather special kind of tutor. An old lady, who had been a friend of her mother had stayed in touch with her. She had offered Aiko on several occasion to learn an art of trade she would probably find some meaning in. It was this old lady who first taught Aiko how a thief and assassin worked. Though a bit surprised, Aiko saw no other future. What else would she try to become? She had thought about it and decided that instead of judging, she would try it out. And somewhere deep inside of her, she started to enjoy the thrill. The danger and risks. It was becoming a game, a rather dangerous one. One where she found out that she had some skill in it.
Furthering herself in the arts of an assassin, Aiko started to do some contracts. Arranged by her tutor, she started to grow to understand to make use of all kind of things. Her looks, manners and how to read people. Even as Aiko became a young woman, she kept the childish curiosity and eagerness to learn more. How to become better.
Over the years, Aiko had stayed around the nation of Viola, learning how to recognize what kind of contract would benefit her or not. She has managed to make several contracts, though she hasn't yet made a goal of her own. In her opinion, life is currently just a game. A game she enjoys.
A toan that is currently at the size of a rather large dog (imagine a Great Dane). He is relatively young, but a clever and crafty creature. Though he understands most basic signals of Aiko and is extremely loyal to her, he has his own rather mischievous antics. Resulting in pranking either Aiko or somebody else who he has grown a bond with. Even though he has some sharp fangs, Tiriel is an omnivore.
A good quality short blade that Aiko uses in combat. She has the weapon sheated in a scabbard, that is placed horizontal, just above her waist. It had once belonged to her tutor.
- Smoke bombs
Small balls that can be ignited to then later spring a thick cloud of smoke. Either to conceal an attack or creating a chance to escape a fight or tight situation. Aiko is also known and capable of using poison mixes to give some of her smoke bombs a rather nasty effect.
- Gunpowder bombs
These aren't like the smoke bombs, with being subtle, but rather loud distractions or capable of filling somebody with shrapnel. They don't have a wide radius, as the shrapnel would be send around in radius of several meters, but the sound they make can deafen somebody temporary.
Due her herbal knowledge, Aiko is able to craft poison for her smokebombs or storing them away for other uses. She also has learned how to craft several antidotes and simple medications, allowing her to treat others on a simple base. Meaning that she is able to tend to injuries or things like a fever, but she wouldn't be able to compete with a more medical orientated person.
A poison that has a dark green color to it, due the various mix of herbals. This poison is designed to eliminate a person from fighting on or being a threat. This process is quite a painful one as the brain will get signals from the limb that something is wrong, causing the pain to grow with each passing minute. This mean that though that an opponent will slowly become incapable of fighting, that Aiko needs to either exhaust or keep up her defense until his opponent is unable to continue due the increasing pain.
A poison that has no strange color and once inhaled or taken in, the victim will start to feel his limbs and body turning numb. Eventually, the process depends on the amount of the dose, the victim will collapse, unable to move or do anything as it will even disturb the chi flow in a body.
Created from the plant that is called Giant Hogweed, the poison is very effective to turn the tide in the favor of Aiko and her allies. The plant's watery sap, loaded with toxic chemicals called furocoumarins, binds to human skin in sunlight, causing itching, oozing pustules and black and purple scars that can take years to fade. If even a teensy amount of sap ends up in the eye, it can burn the cornea, causing temporary or permanent blindness. This poison is often used with the combination of smoke bombs to overwhelm an opponent and causing them to unable to continue fighting.
This is a poison Aiko rarely makes or uses. Unlike her other poisons, this one is aimed to kill and not to disable a victim from being a threat. The poison will slowly start to disable organs, causing a victim to turn sick. The first signs is a lot of coughing, followed up by turning paler. Eventually a person will start to cough up blood and their excreta also be filled with more blood than usual. (Meaning your poo and pee, for those might wonder what it is. And yes, there is a bit of old blood in your poo and- ... Why am I even..)
The drawback of this poison is that it can't be mixed with the smoke bombs. For this, Aiko uses her water bending to assassinate a person. The poison is also very hard to find as it is simple herbs that are mixed to create a specific chemical reaction in a human body, which starts to damage and harm the organs of the victim. (Aka, not available in combat or will be used against PC's without permission)
* Has a good knowledge of herbs, both for medical uses as for poison. Also well versed in crafting things with gunpowder.
* Very good in hand to hand combat, using mean and dirty tricks to win.
* Good in using her short blade.
* Athletic/Agile, fit and has some good stamina.
* Very good trained senses, being good in spotting details to aid her in and out of fights.
* Capable of keeping herself rather silent.
* Though having regular skills in Water Bending, Aiko uses it mostly for her assassination tasks, not yet confident to use it in direct confrontations.
* Has learned how to read other people.
*Keep in mind that this is a skill that isn't just effective on everybody!*
* Capable dancer, in her own opinion
* Has a rather high alcohol tolerance, something she is proud of.

Like the wind, Kaen´s personality can be calm and soothing like a soft breeze, of unpleasant to face like a tornado. Thanks to his experience in his early years, he learned to value his friends above anything else and he will not hesitate in protecting them, no matter the cost. He trusts them above all people, without any reservations. On the other hand, he has great trouble believing other people unless they prove themselves in the eyes of Kaen.
Kaen has a calm and composed, generally positive personality that was forged during his travels with Matsukaze. He feels better when not in big cities, finding them somewhat suffocating. He posesses a sharp tongue, not afraid to voice his opinion with absolute honesty. In combat, he is focused, mindful of his surroundings and willing to exploit every opening he sees.
Kaen knows little about his parents or where exactly in Viola was he borned. All the memories from his early childhood involve large, marble rooms filled with sunshine and warmth. He knows very little abouthis origins and he has learned to live with it. Except of the few above mentioned memories, all Kaen
remembers are the gangs of Qitan´s streets and how he struggled to gain acceptance into them, as soon
as he was left to fend for himself, around the age of seven. The gangs promised him shelter and safety on the streets, and after some time, he was accepted by one.
He quickly realized it was not so easy. They were living from small, even petty thefts - food, clothing and small sums of money. The young boy quickly realized the situation he was in and tried to leave the gang several times, but he was forced to stay by blackmail and bullying from older gang members. Unable to defend himself, the young Kaen was forced to stay in the gang and continue with the thefts. The interets of the boy changed and instead of the regular thefts, he was more and more interested in reading. He taught himself how to write and read during his time as a member of a gang, earning him several bruises and verbal thefts.
As he read more and more, he refused to carry out more thefts. After some time, the gang leaders found him wandering on the streets of Qitan and dragged him into a back alley, bent on teaching him a harsh lesson for his disobedience. Just as things were starting to look grim, an old man appeared and threatened the thugs to leave him alone. Laughing off the elder, they then went to attack him - only to find themselves hopelessly overwhelmed by the old man, who turned out to be an Airbender.
Saddened by Kaen´s situation, the old man took him with himself and they left Qitan behind themselves for good. The old man was very kind to Kaen, who greatly appreciated it and took a great liking to the old man, although his questions about the name of the old man were never answered. None the less, the two of them developed a very close bond between each other. At first, Kaen was very eager about learning the arts of Airbending, but this question always went without an answer as well.
The breakthrough came after three years of them travelling together, when Kaen was ten years old. His personality changed a lot during these times, as his viewpoint on the world itself. The duo was attacked when taking a rest in a forest they travelled by, and this time, it was Kaen who saved the old man. When the attackers were at his mercy, he refused to deliver the deathblow they asked of him, instead letting them go. This act signalled for the old man that the young boy was indeed ready for the art of Airbending.
The duo travelled for the next ten years. They stayed mostly in Viola, but made their ways towards the Patola Mountain Range and the Si Wong Desert. Kaen started to master the art of Airbending and after initial difficulties, he started to become a promising apprentice to the old man, who turned out to be a travelling monk from the Southern Air Temple. He took all the lessons from the old Monk with great interest, yet remained patient when faced with difficulties. The Monk was very satisfied with his progress and saw great promise in his skills.
Kaen developed his own fighting style that involved the usage of fans, but he never used it for offensive purposes. The old Monk was very glad with his development and the bond between them only strengthened. When Kaen was twenty years old, the Monk´s health started to rapidly deteriorate and he asked Kaen if they could make the journey back to the Southern Air Temple. Happy to follow, the duo travelled there. When they arrived, the old Monk told Kaen that his lifespan was nearing an end and that he was glad that he could spend his last years with him. His last words to Kaen were " Matsukaze " .
Kaen realized that the Monk was telling him his name. After mourning him, he set out on his travels, now alone, his resolve strengthened by the passing away of his mentor. During the next three years, Kaen travelled arround Viola, gaining many friends, some of them turned out into oustanding ones. He continues to travel around Viola, just like Matsukaze did, in a search to further expand his knowledge. He does his best to protect the ones in need he encounters during his travels, and he realized that he found his calling in protecting others.
The weapon of choice for Kaen, he uses the fans to enhance his Airbending provess. He developed an unique fighting styles involving the fans, and he is capable of using them for both offensive and defensive purposes. He can also use them as throwing weapons, though he does that only as the last case.
Kaen trained considerable with Kunai as well, gaining great skill in using them. He uses a lot of unorthodox and surprising moves when fighting his kunai, and his fighting style with them is somewhat slower, more agressive than when he uses his fans.
This item is a personal memento from Matsukaze, a gift to Kaen on the old Monk´s deathbed. Kaen is strongly attached to it and always wears it tied around his right arm - even though, for everybody else, it is just a piece of blue cloth with a kanji on it.
Kaen carries a medical pouch with him all of the time. It contains bandages and other clothes necessary for threating small cut wounds, as he has some problems avoiding them.
Learned how to take care about himself and survive during his long travels.
Decent trapmaking skills - he often uses traps when hunting in the wilds.
Fast paced, unorthodox and unpredictable fighting style.
Relies more on hand to hand combat, rather than using Airbending all the time.
Moderate stamina, endurance and physical strength.
Very talkative when arround his friends.
Good at Foodbending.
Values the company of his friends above everything else.
Name: Mu lan
Appearance: Mu lan is a fit woman standing at the height of five feet and seven inches. Mu lan wears her dark brown hair short and in fringes to keep it from completely overtaking her light brown eyes. She wears a braid that travels down to her shoulder blades making some question the actual length her hair would be if it were to become untied. Mu lan prefers her clothing more baggy and loose than the norm. The choice of clothing makes her appear poorer than she actually is, though the preference may be because she’s used to it from her childhood. Two scars stain lay beneath the forearm of the darker toned woman, scars unable to heal fully. Part of the scars appears to be hidden by bandages, the same kind in which is wrapped around her chest. She’s also seen wearing gloves consistently, hinting that the scars may carry onwards. Finally her ears are pierced as she’s seen wearing two earrings most of the time.
Personality: Mu lan is a very friendly person right off the bat, and shows a very caring nature. To those she’s close to she can come off as motherly, even to those who she isn’t close to depending on the situation. The caring nature seems to stem from her previous occupation of being a teacher. She’s quick witted and calm in a lot of situations. She may seem serious most of the time due to being relatively quiet if not in a one on one conversation or if she doesn’t have anything noteworthy to say, but she’s just relaxed and trying to think of a good joke that’s usually too cheesy or too morbid. Though she can be a Deadpan Snarker making it hard to tell if some of her morbid jokes are serious or not.
Other: Give her sweets.
Birthplace: Viola seemingly
Organization: The free one
Backstory: Once an orphaned child raised in the slums of Wuyuan, Mu lan was surrounded by five other children most of her childhood. Their caretaker, Aiko, worked hard to steer them all in the right direction as despite where they lived they went to a nice school out of poverty. Due to Aiko working hard to take care of them Mu lan never really had that rough of a childhood, especially with some of the children being adopted it took a lot off of Aiko’s hands. It wasn’t until adolescence that things began to get a bit rough. With Aiko becoming ill, and the other two orphans getting into a bit of trouble, Mu lan took up a job on top of school to take some weight off Aiko’s shoulders. As well, Mu lan did her best to keep her peers out of trouble. On top of that the thought of who her real parents were began creeping back on her. She was stressed, but she knew Aiko had been more so, so Mu lan didn’t complain.
After a few years Aiko had fallen to her illness, and the other orphans were nowhere to be found. Mu lan wasn’t too broken over it though. Her foster siblings had become troublemakers with nothing neither Mu lan nor Aiko could do to stop them. With Aiko’s sickness they both knew it was a matter of time, but Mu lan was still sad. She didn’t grieve much though as she knew Aiko believed in her. She had a good education, one Aiko worked hard for her to get, so she would put it to use. Mu lan lived alone from then on, pretty well off too due to her and Aiko’s savings. Mu lan moved out of the slums, continuing her studies from then on.
Mu lan eventually started teaching. She only taught children in the slums wanting to inspire them to get out of it and better their lives as Aiko did with her. She taught Language Arts, as well as History. In her free time Mu lan would play with children around the area, donate, and do more studying. Some people would probably find the thought of that boring, but Mu lan enjoyed it.
She wanted to become more knowledgeable. Taking a break from teaching, Mu lan decided to travel to each nation and study there. She spent two years of her life in each nation. Since she was from Viola she was welcomed to each nation with open arms. Her first visit was to the Fire Nation.
She met a master bender who went by the name Zakari along with his sister Zuri who was a chi blocker. Interested in Mu lan’s researching they offered to show her the ways of their fighting for her research which she gladly accepted. After they showed her they offered to teach Mu lan a bit of their fighting style. Zakari taught her a fighting style involving acrobatics and another for strong kicks and quick punches, meanwhile Zuri taught her some things with ropes and knives. While the training didn’t last the whole two years Mu lan’s connection to the siblings did, mostly Zuri who taught her more rope play personally.
When it was time for Mu lan to leave, Zuri gave her a goodbye gift; a belt with some equipment, as well as a bag of food for her trip, and an x. Mu lan made her way to the Earth Kingdom and was amazed by how advanced it was despite knowing of the advancements previous. Seeing them in person was what amazed her. Immediately did she get in good with a man named Cheng who asked her was she from around there. She took notice she shared common features with some of the Earth Kingdom people causing her to question her parents Ethnicity. After informing him about where she was from and what she had been doing he offered to show her around which she accepted.
Her first year in the Earth Kingdom was of course researching and studying the culture there. Her second year the same, though she met up with Cheng again who was at that time considered a master Earth bender. Remembering the Fire Nation, Mu lan asked if he could teach her some of the moves he used in Earth bending as bending weren’t one of the things she had gotten down. He agreed to do so claiming he’d always be up for teaching someone of Earth Kingdom blood. She was still iffy on that, but she went along with it to ultimately get what she wanted. While he showed her allot of things, he taught her about stance and strong kicks.
After her time there was up she headed to the Northern Air Temple. How did she find it? Due to being a teacher in Viola she knew quite a few people, one of those people just so happened to be an Airbender from that very temple. He used to tell stories of his time there and would describe the scenery, as well she knew a bit of Earth Kingdom business, so she just put what she knew together and went searching. The Air Nomads weren’t too wary of her though as she came with peace, and told her story to them. They were more than happy to share their culture with her after hearing how she wanted to educate children and inspire them to become better, and she promised she wouldn’t share the location of their temple.
While there she was introduced to the Council of Elders who took interest in what she was doing as well, and then on introduced her to a master of Air bending. His name was Jinpa. Jinpa taught Mu lan about their culture, helped her become calmer, and they would meditate for hours straight. She also learned a thing or two about humor, though her jokes remained poor a lot of the time. Jinpa also taught her a bit of their martial arts on their last year, the art of footwork. That and what she learned in the Earth Kingdom about firm planting, her footwork was pretty impressive. Though she knew the martial arts was more defenses based than attacking.
After gathering warmer clothing Mu lan set off to the Northern Water Tribe. She took her time before getting into anything bending related. She wanted to research what people did, how they did what they did, and why. That was most of her time spent there. The second year, the middle of the second year, was when she began studying bending of others. She watched them closely and wrote down what they did. She even helped hunt some animals with the hunting knife Zuri put into her belt. It made some of the hunters like her, therefore helped her get to the Southern Water Tribe with trading items.
She wasted no time in trading in her items, lying about how she hunted the animals herself. It got her in good with a few people in which made it cheaper to live there for the few months she had left. After getting down the comparison of the Northern and Southern water tribe, and the bending, Mu lan began returning home to Viola. Instead of immediately going back into teaching she decided to look for a way to have her skills benefit others.
Theme Song: Couldn’t find anything so here.
Equipment: A belt wrapping around her waist that holds a rope and four knife pouches. Three of the knife pouches fit two throwing knives each; meanwhile the knife pouch on her side holds a hunting knife.
Skills: When it comes to combat Mu lan is very skilled in martial arts due to her training with masters of bending. Mu lan uses bits of all their teachings in her fighting making it seem as if she’s a jack of all trades. She incorporates rope and knife play into her fighting, though her accuracy could still use work. And while she may be skilled her biggest downfall is her lack of experience with actual opponents (Martial Arts - Level III)
The largest asset of Mu lan is her intellect, not to mention knowledge of each individual nation. She has knowledge of mostly basic bending, martial arts incorporated into them, cultures of each nation, and even some political business. As she used to be a language arts teacher Mu lan has great reading and communication skills that take her a long way from deciphering tough riddles to persuading people to do certain things for her.

Name: Hayate Kyozu
Age: Eighteen years old, born on the 26th of November
Length and Build: 6'2" (1.87m)
Weight: 165lbs (74kg)
Birthplace: Ba Sing Se
Element: Earth (does not use)
Hayate is a tad odd, to say the least. He comes across as being very eccentric to most people that meet him, due to his love of tinkering with things. Hayate often tunes out everything that is going on around him once he is focused on a particular task, unless something else comes along that is equally distracting.
Hayate is quite shy around people that he doesn't know, and can be reserved until he trusts them. Whenever he is around something that he finds interesting, however, his true self comes out and he becomes hyper attentive to whatever piqued his curiousity. It is this trait that causes most people to see him as a rather quirky fellow, and he is well aware of how people think of him. Hayate is very friendly with those that he knows well, and generally tries to be polite to everyone else.
Hayate was born in Ba Sing Se to a wealthy family. His father, Hanzo, owned a large company that was responsible for supplying a lot of the equipment for the military. Growing up, Hayate quickly showed his creative side. His father spent a lot of time with the boy, hoping to develop the boy's potential so that he could one day take over the company and keep it flourishing. Hayate, however, was a very carefree child. He wanted nothing more than to mess around create things for his own amusment.
His father became frustrated with Hayate's lack of desire to take the reins and tried more aggressive methods to encourage the boy. This only served to push Hayate further away. The final straw came when Hanzo tricked his son into helping to build a working prototype weapon for the Earth Kingdom's army. The weapon was supposed to revolutionize combat and would give the army a huge advantage against their enemies. It would also mean that Hanzo's company would secure a contract with the military for the years to come, bringing them incredible wealth. Hayate was furious to find out that he had been manipulated into creating a dangerous weapon. Before his father could present the prototype, Hayate stole the weapon and destroyed it. He also took the blueprints and hid them from his father.
Upon discovering Hayate's deeds, that was the first and only time Hanzo raised his hand against his son. The beating he gave Hayate was only stopped due to his mother's intervention. Hanzo demanded that Hayate return the blueprints, threatening him further in the hopes that it would convince the boy. At Hayate's refusal, an exasperated Hanzo decided to lock the boy in his room, attempting to force him into rebuilding a working prototype. Instead, Hayate devised a way to break out and ran away from his home, taking the blueprints with him as a precaution.
Hanzo searched for his son for a long time, knowing that Hayate was the only one who knew how to build the final component required for the weapon. He could not find the boy, however, and attempted, unsuccessfully to hire multiple inventors to recreate the protorype.
Hayate travelled for a long time, not knowing, and not particularly caring where he ended up. He learned pretty quickly that he would have to find a way to fend for himself, though the first several months were brutal for him. Being accustomed to a much higher lifestyle, Hayate found it difficult to fit in at first, but soon found that he enjoyed the freedom of being on his own far more than being cooped up in a stuffy mansion.
Somewhere along the way, Hayate encountered Ronin, who had been left by himself, very near death. Taking the animal with him, Hayate managed to slowly nurse him back to health and the two became inseperable.
Hayate wound up somewhere in Viola. He lives there in relative poverty, selling some of his inventions in order to get by.
Ronin is Hayate's pet/best friend. He is a *Red Howler
*A Red Howler is a mix between a Red Panda, a Raccoon and a Howler Monkey). Red Howler's have the general body shape and colouring as the Red Panda, with the slightly longer arms and snout of the raccoon, and the prehensile tail of the howler monkey. They can grow up to a few feet tall and several feet long when they are full adults, resembling a large dog in shape. They can also walk on either their hind legs or all fours with equal ease. They are highly intelligent creatures and, while they can be house trained, they can also be very stubborn which doesn't make them the best of pets.*
Ronin is still quite small as he is only a year and a half old. He is incredibly loyal to Hayate and the two get along quite well. Due to the fact that Ronin is capable of using both his hands and his tail to grab and hold things, Hayate often uses him to assist while working on a project. Ronin is very playful and can occasionaly act slightly rebellious if he doesn't feel like he is getting enough attention or having enough fun. Overall, Hayate and Ronin share a close bond to one another and their bond will hopefully become stronger over time.
Inventor's Tool Kit
Hayate always keeps his trusty tool kit close to him. It contains all of the tools that he uses most commonly while working on his inventions. He is constantly adding to it and would be lost without it. This kit is the second most valuable thing he has, aside from Ronin.
One of Hayate's early creations. He originally designed the goggles to help him work in low light conditions, but once he realized that he also needed to protect his eyes from the brightness of welding, he found a way to build different filters into the lens that he can switch with ease. When working in the dark, Hayate can set the goggles to help him see easier (not like true night vision, just a little brighter and more than normal) and when dealing with bright lights, he can switch the filter to darken his view, allowing him to withstand super bright lights. He can not use both filters at once, however, so he can still be temporarily blinded by bright flashes if he has his set to the dark mode. Hayate is constantly tinkering with his goggles, looking for ways to make them better. He can almost always be seen wearing them either on his head, hanging around his neck, or up high on his forehead.
Hayate will often wear his custom designed gauntlets if he is under the impression that he will be forced into a combat situation. The gauntlet on his left arm is a little bit bulkier than a standard one would be, but that is because it contains a round shield built in that Hayate can activate with the push of a button. The shield is quite sturdy and can withstand attacks from weapons and bending alike.
The gauntlet on his right arm contains two hooks connected to metal cables. The cables are similar to the type used by the Metalbending Police Force, however they are thinner and not as long. Hayate built a smaller version of the spooling system that the Police Force uses, into the gauntlet itself, removing the need for a back mounted unit. Because Hayate's skill in metalbending is not overly strong, he can not manipulate the cables with ease and instead relies on launching the hooks through a propulsion unit built into the gauntlet.
- Highly intelligent and resourceful
- Physically not very strong
- Fast on his feet and quite agile
- Very good at working with different tools and technology
- Can Metalbend a small amount and understands Earthbending (Does not use standard Earthbending)
- Has a very unorthodoxed fighting style. Because he is not trained in any actual form of combat, Hayate will use anything and everything he can to his advantage.
Theme Song: (TBD)
Hayate understands the basics of Earthbending but he has never really trained in it. He spent more time learning basic metal bending, mostly to help with creating his inventions. Hayate is not a powerful bender by any means, and would be next to useless at using it in combat.
Hayate's strength lies in his intelligence and his creativity. He has a passion for inventing things, and will often spend great amounts of time creating things for entirely useless purposes. Not all of Hayate's inventions work out the way he intended, and on more than one occasion he has been surprised by the results of his labour. He also does not exclusively invent things to be used in combat. While he is more than capable of doing so, Hayate does not wish to create things that are meant purely to harm others.
*Hayate has a variety of other minor inventions that he has created that will be added later, most of them will have no real in story effect other than to offer some minor character development.*
Name: Justice’s Light
Locations: Wherever the Leader happens to be since she is always moving, however the start of the organization would technically be considered to have happened in Fire Fountain City.
Recognized by Nation: Not really she is the only member so only notice she has is her being loud
Size: Only one member currently
Important Members: Aya Lian(Leader)
Name: Aya Lian
Length and Build: 5’6 and slim build
Weight: 111 (Muscle of justice)
Birthplace: Fire Fountain City
Organization: Justice’s Light
Sub-Element: -looks at list for fire- Decisions, ill pick later
Has a more childlike personality, one that does not fit a woman of her age. She is loud, caring(In her own special way) and sometimes aggressive. Unlike an adult she enjoys things kids would more so enjoy, like little games. And while an adult may like shiny objects, she takes it to a new level, by literally dropping everything just to gawk at them, she has a weird obsession for shiny coins.
Going more into her aggressive side, it only comes out when those will disrespect defenseless people, or do anything that would not be considered justice like. She holds a high respect for kindness and the right thing. Valuing order and justice above mostly everything. She is truly a justice fanatic just a really adorable one…. that breathes fire. She also is not one to quit, so if she proclaims that she will one day beat you, don’t think its empty words she most likely means it. Despite being childlike, she isn’t scared of many thing, besides needles, those things terrify her.
Backstory: Growing up as a child filled with tons of energy, Aya had no troubles making lots of friends, finding those that kept up with her was the only hard part. Her family ran a small instrument shop, where all of them were hand made by her own parents. One day on her eighth birthday she was given a cross and a Erhu as presents, both of which she loved greatly. So she would practice playing that instrument for years, even drumming up some business by showing the town just how well made and lovely they were.
However on her fifteenth birthday, someone one day set fire to the shop while the family was out having dinner, while this did have a negative impact on the families lifestyle it didn’t destroy them, although they did lose many precious family memories. So her family and herself moved onto her parents parents farm, where she found joy in playing with the animals. She would spend three years helping out on the farm, when one day the same arsonist would strike again, burning the farmland to the ground. Luckily they got most of the animals out. Yet this time Aya wasn’t happy at all, she was enraged. The same person tried to destroy her family’s life twice. And she was not going to let this happen again. So she proclaimed that she would bring Justice upon this vile man and anyone else who enjoys these dark activities, and started the Justice’s Light. For the next five years she set out in order to find a tutor who would take, and only found one who was willing, a crazed man just as crazy as childlike as her. After thanking him for training her in the basics of fire bending she set off to start purging the world of all that is evil. And she has been on the road for two years since.
Equipment: A coin pouch, not one she uses to spend. One she has incase she stumbles upon a coin she must have. She also carries a cross inside the pouch.
-more flexible than most, so she can do some creative doges, if she can see them in time.
-Somewhat unpredictable (By this I mean will randomly switch up the way she fights.)
-Is very loyal
-Has her own style of defense for fire bending, which she calls Justice’s protection
-Is proficient at playing the Erhu
-Doesn’t plan things out rather well.
-Can be very gullible, believing most people with what they say.
-Is not the strongest female, so she has to rely on the simple destructive force of her fire bending.
-will rush head into danger, making her rather reckless at times.
Other: She likes coins, she likes the shine of them. Only the ones she finds on the streets though. She aint a mugger.
She also has the word Justice tattooed on her right forearm, while she may be a justice fanatic, this seems to have more purpose.
Name: Li Kin Wo
Length and Build: 5'5, curvy build
Weight: 128 lbs
Appearance: (Someone is actually drawing her for me. I didn't give her a deadline, so it might be a while. She has a lot to work on. Until then, I'll just describe her.) Li Kin has large, droopy, azure eyes with shoulder-length, chestnut colored hair to frame said eyes. Her skin is cream colored with a slight glow to it. Her clothing is mostly black, but considering the fact that she is an earthbender, there are some light and dark greens tossed into the color scheme. Her daily outfit consists of a shirt dress that is baggy around her shoulders and hips, but tight around her waist, complete with sweatpants and boots. Li Kin also has a deep sienna colored birthmark in the shape of a blooming lotus on her palm, but it obviously doesn't mean anything.
Birthplace: The Earth Kingdom
Personality: Li Kin is known through out Jibade and Ba Sing Se as ¨The Embodiment of Peace¨. She is a daydreamer at heart, but knows where to draw the line between reality and her fantasies. She loves gardens more than anything else, and besides to see her mother and older brother, the gardens in Ba Sing Se are the only reason she goes to visit. She also identifies music as her passion, saying that the world looks brighter when she hears it. Li Kin is also known to be very good at putting children to sleep, knowing an abundance of soft lullabies to soothe their ears and convince them to rest their eyes. And besides her lullabies, she is known for the other songs she will sing to her animal companion, Ai. She is very sweet, lending a helping hand to anyone who requests it. She makes friends with almost everyone she meets. She hates war and conflict more than anything else, doing anything and everything to stop a fight from breaking out, even if that means using a little earthbending force.
Backstory: Li Kin was born in Ba Sing Se, but moved out with her father at age 15 after her older brother, Hatsen, joined the army. Her mother had wanted a divorce anyways, so hey. Solutions. However, a year later, Li Kin's father died of a lung disease he had never even been diagnosed with, leaving the still young girl to tend to the house and unable to return to her mother. Since then, she has buried her depression in music and books, choosing not to grieve over her dear father, which of course was unhealthy, but it worked for her so... to each their own, I guess. To this day, Li Kin takes monthly trips to Ba Sing Se and counts many residents of Jibade as her family.
Equipment: A canteen of water (it gets very dry in Jibade, so it is a good idea to always have water with you.), candies for the kids, a simple knife with a blooming lotus carved into the blade, and her hedgehog, Ai.
Skills: Singing, writing, gardening, socializing, she plays the flute, earthbending
Name: Ling S. Manshu
Length and Build: 6'2 and has a decent muscular build.
Birthplace: The Fire Nation
Location: The Fire Nation Capital
Personality: Ling is a over confident cocky person who is always looking for a good fight whenever possible. He loves training and becoming better no matter the time of day or weather conditions. Hates hearing anyone put down others or himself since the word, can't, is his trigger to go off and prove that he/they can. Ling's ego and pride is one of his major downfalls since he never backs down even when he knows that a fight may end in his death. His loyalty is second to none so when you make it into his book on good terms you'll have him supporting you all the way. Hates any form of dishonor perfering to fight battles without resorting to dirty tactics. Though his actions may not always show it he respects his house a great deal and is willing to put them above all else in this world. Has a true heart of gold as he will drop everything to help out somebody in need which sometimes lands him in loads of trouble.
Backstory: Ling comes from the noble house of the Manshu's who are held in high regard for the families strict honor code that they all strive to live by. He was the heir to the Manshu house which had caused for concern amoung the members since Ling wasn't really leadership material. From a young age he had shown sings of being a problem child as he had been in a total of 15 fights by the time he was 6. His father, Liu Manshu, has tried time and time again to get his son on the right path to becoming a studious family man, but so far all of his attemps have failed and things only got worse once they found out Ling was a firebender. At the age of 10 Ling was shipped off to his uncle, Mai Manshu, to begin his training to learn how to master his powers under him..sadly he only grew worse after that since his uncle encouraged his love for fighting.
Finally after being gone for 5 years Ling returned back from training and learned that his father had adopted a new son to become the head of the family since Ling was simply a lost cause in his eyes. Even though this would have made any other child upset Ling was quite happy since now he wouldn't have to hold back in anything he did seeing as he wasn't the future of the family anymore. His father did ask as a favor from another family to have their child, who was a chiblocker, watch over his son so that he wouldn't get too out of control, but just like all the other plans Liu made for Ling it backfired. Ling and his new "guardian" hit it off in a big way since Hotaru's attitude seemed to go hand and hand with his own making them instant best friends. Now that he's 22 Ling has managed to make quite the name for himself as the famous brawler who's not afraid of any challenge.
Equipment: The only thing that he always has with him is his necklace that bears his families crest and wears it with pride everywhere.
-Thanks to his boorish style his attack process is difficult to read.
-His firebending is fueled by his passion for battle making it more powerful as his fights go on.
-Has Martial arts training due to his friend teaching him how after she mopped the floor with him.
-His will and determination is one of his biggest strengths since they allow him to keep pressing on where a regular person might have quit a long time ago.
Other: His nicknames in the fighting world are"The Raging Inferno" and "The Hot-blooded Maniac." Usually never fights the same way twice in order to confuse future opponents who see him fight beforehand.
Name: Hotaru Suzuki
Length and Build 1.6m, lean
Weight: 56 kg
Birthplace: Fire Nation
Location: Fire Nation Capital
Element Air (level 0: She has the potential, but not only does she have no idea she has the capability; she will actively and willfully deny any apparent airbending)
Personality Hotaru is extremely quiet for the most part. She only speaks when she has something important to say, needs to talk her way out of problems Ling started, or being snarky. She attempts to rarely show emotion, but someone who knows her well will know what to look for. She is incredibly cautious and rarely jumps in without a plan. Unlike her traveling companion, expect her to use anything to gain an edge.
Backstory Hotaru's parents had an unusual lifestyle. They were both from the air nation, but they loved cooking. In fact, before coming to the Fire Nation, they had already visited the Water Tribes and large parts of the Earth Kingdom before heading to the Fire Nation Capital. All they brought with them was a small food cart and themselves. The two of them had a love of cooking, and wanted to learn about how to cook food from each nation. This was actually their last stop before heading to Viola and seeing if they wanted to settle down there, or head back to the Air Nation. Their usual pattern was to set up their shop, sell what they could, and donate the money they did not need off to local charities. The most time the pair would spend in a place was a few months, however, they stuck around longer when their daughter was born. A Fire Nation noble wanted to meet with them to taste some foreign cuisine. A paranoid cook for a high class restaurant became worried and called in their assassination. After that was complete, the rookie assassin took the child back to the compound, not being a total monster.
After her 'adoption', she was always told that her real parents were two of the higher ranked assassins in the compound. From the age that she could walk, Hotaru had started her training, and she excelled in it. When she was younger, they trained her to spy on targets that they were paid to go after. Blackmail, theft, or assassination; they sent her to gather information before the missions. This was all just practice for her to run her own missions when she was older, but that time did not come as soon as she expected. She was continually used an asset to spy with and to train the younger members in their skills, but she always wanted a job of her own. Soon, Ling's father was asking for someone to “take care” of his son, and she was chosen for the job.
Now, when one of their spies heard the news of the Manshu Patron searching for someone to “take care” of their son, the assassins took this to mean they potentially had some work. This time, Hotaru wouldn't take no for an answer. The leaders relented and gave her the assignment. It was only when she was looking at job that she noticed that the payment was done per year. After some investigation, she discovered that he meant it literally. She pointed this out to the leadership, but they sent her off to follow him anyway. As they told her, money was money and a job was a job.
Equipment 25 stiletto throwing knives
double-ended meteor hammer
Somehow talking her way out of trouble that Ling gets them into
Theme Song 4'33”
Other She has the potential to airbend, but not only does she have no idea she has the capability; she will actively and willfully deny any apparent airbending. She believes that she is from the Fire Nation 100%.
