The Draig - WIP

History
The Dark Ages

During the dark ages the Draig lived on the lower realm among humans. Great warriors, they were often hired by humans to help in their wars. But the Draig grew tired of this. Their king o the time declared that no Draig would fight in a human war ever again! And so the Draig people retreated to their mountains homes. It did not take long for humans to come searching for them. Generations of stories of the might yDraig, ferocious dragon people, had lead may a would-be-hero in search of a mighty Draig to slay in victorious combat. Soon the Draig found themselves hunted.
Mahonwy
To escape the hunting, a circle of Draig witches raised an island in the channel sea - between England and France. The royal family, a circle of witches, and a few trusted nobles all moved to the island. Ad there they thought they were safe.

The Ascension
Humans came for them still. With ships and canons. They laid siege to the royal citadel countless times and each time the Draig fought them back. But it was only a matter of time before the humans numbers and weapons became too much.

First Contact
A British reconnaissance plane discovered the island by accident. Hidden by storm clouds, a pilot lost his way in the storm. And stumbled upon Mahonwy in the sky. The pilot swore to keep the secret and he did. However, the Draig had to take a look at the lower realm and judge if there was any risk of more humans finding their island. They found that there was not just risk of being discovered, but of war. Of a war the likes the world had never seen before. A global war on an industrial scale.

Discovery
After having covered their tracks after the events of World War 1, the Draig believed that they could now live in peace. Their island was hidden from the world better than it had ever been with the use of powerful magic that renders the floating island invisible. For good measure they moved the island further south. Which is why German planes did not see the island below during a blitz. Bombs intended for Normandy came crashing down upon Mahonwy. Not just witnesses this time. The Draig and Mahonwy had been attacked and were now apart of the war. They had never fought in anything like World War 2 before. The barbary, the mass destruction. Prisoner camps and atom bombs, mass slaughter and entire countries burning, war machines and pure evil.

Brief Bio:

Emiko Queen is Oliver Queen's(Green Arrow) half sister. For the majority of her life, the young girl lived on the other side of the world, unaware of her sibling or the life he led. Raised in a secret assassin organization known as the Outsiders, Emiko was educated in the killing arts, and found her success in the art of the bow.

When the young girl turned 15, her right of passage came, and with it, a mission. She was to hunt down the man known as the Green Arrow, kill him, and return his body to her home as proof. However despite her best attempts, the young Emiko found herself unable to defeat the Green Arrow 1-on-1. When she was finally bested, the Green Arrow took a surprising leap of faith. Instead of having her arrested or imprisoned, he took her under his wing. At first Emiko resisted. She would tell him nothing. However when a DNA test was performed on her to find out exactly who she was, the shocking truth was revealed. Not only was she a skilled archer, she was also Oliver Queen's family.

The moment was life changing. Unsure of what to do or say, Emiko finally conceded. While she still did not fully understand or trust Oliver, he seemed to have her best interests at heart, and he was one hell of a teacher. For two years, The Green Arrow trained her. However, he only had so much he could teach. Soon it was time for Emiko to move forward. The Argo Academy had just been established. The young bowmaster knew what she had to do.

Brief Bio: Harleen Quinzel came from a broken home and spent her formative years in and out of foster homes, where she ran afoul of the young man who would become known as The Joker and became his accomplice(or girlfriend as she and she alone sees it). She learned a lot while on the run with him, until being ditched for a quick escape from Batman. She was spared from being arrested by Doctor Mid-Nite of the JSA, who saw the potential to rehabilitate the young girl into a force for good.

Magic Intuition. Zatanna is capable of performing a vast number of feats through the use of magic. She is able to tap into the primal energies of the universe and will them to do her bidding. While she could perform some rather devastating spells (both to her opponents or the planet itself), she has been raised with a respect for magic in all of its forms. She is well versed in many forms of magic, and has knowledge of the intricacies of the different disciplines. But with proper training and timing, there is little she isn't capable of doing. She is also able to sense mystic energies around herself.
In addition to this, she is able to use more simple spells around her without the use of the incantations. These are limited to just around her form (usually with a range of 20 or so feet) and to smaller objects. Perhaps making a bowling ball levitate would be the extent of it. These low level spells include: Elemental control (Pyrokinesis, cryokinesis, electrokinesis, hydrokinesis, geokinesis, aerokinesis, photokinesis, umbrakinesis), telekinesis, energy deflection, force fields and healing.

Weaknesses:
Mnemomic Incantations. In order to cast a spell or command, she must speak her will backwards. She usually tries to keep spells simple. She needs both the words spoken (backwards) and the intention of the spell. If she is lacking in either of those, the spell will not work. Or will backfire or react in an unexpected manner.
Magic Vulnerability. Magic users more powerful than herself can impede her connection to the ley-lines of magic of the world. In realms that are restrictive of magic, she can also be 'depowered', or even be harmed physically in the mere presence of the realm.

Skills:
Driving. She enjoys riding motorbikes, specifically dirtbikes.
Escapology. Like many of her skills, she was taught at an early age to perform 'non mystic' stage tricks. Like being an escape artist. By the time she was in kindergarten she could escape from a straight jacket underwater.

Her father raised her in New York, her mother having died only days after her birth in a car accident. Giovanni was an illusionist and mystic master, and he taught his daughter everything he knew. She had an innate talent for powerful magic, which her father recognized and nurtured.
She loved performing magic for others, both sleight of hand illusions and actual magic. Though everyone assumes the actual 'magic' is just more illusions, making them all the more spectacular.
Almost 2 years ago, Giovanni suddenly vanished. No one knows what happened to him, and Zatanna knows he wouldn't just abandon her, that something had to happen to him. She has been living with one of her father's oldest friends up to this point. To help her find her father, she sought out Dr. Fate. But there wasn't much he could do to help her, but he has never really said why. He only said he couldn't locate Giovanni, meaning his tracks had been hidden from mystics. But Dr. Fate, and the rest of the Justice Society, was intrigued that someone as young as Zatanna was resourceful enough to seek them out personally for help. And so… they offered her a place in the new academy…

Brief Bio
The son of 'Super Cop' Roy Raymond Sr, formerly of the GCPD and now host of Vigilant, a show dedicated to covering Roy's investigation of cold cases and covering current high-profile crimes. Roy Senior retired from the GCPD after his wife was killed by an assailant who still remains unknown and presumably at-large.

RJ was very young when he lost his mother, old enough to be negatively affected when his father threw himself into his work. So the young Roy took to learning from his father the broadstrokes then the finer points of investigation, while also honing his body with regular intensive exercise, all with the goal of helping his father solve the mystery of his mother's murder and if need be, apprehend the culprit. When his father was not open and even resisted his attempts to help, Roy donned the persona of The Owlman and spent his nights stalking through the criminal underworld in search of clues himself. He had his share of beatings at first until he became a more competent fighter, and even thwarted several unrelated crimes while on his own investigation. He has encountered the vigilante Batman before, but been rebuked as a partner and they now have a slightly antagonistic relationship. Met and was recruited by Doctor Mid-Nite into the Argo Academy.
