Introduction...
[BCOLOR=transparent] With the dawning of the New year and the welcoming of the new moon, a blood curdling scream sounds out in the dead of night. Something has happened at the palace. Riyah Gralan is suddenly alive with guards and torches as they hurry to the screams echoing from the king’s chambers. Oh how misfortune has fallen the kingdom of Jafar ‘Asir. King Sauda has been murdered. A figure stands over him, and by his feet is the shattered remains of the Genie rune. Oh Gods, it is the king’s own Genie...and he has freed himself from his master’s slavery. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Guards attack, but the Genie dodges and fights back, his powers suddenly restored. He manages to escape through the window and disappear into the night. How misfortune has fallen the kingdom. Murdered by his own Genie, the Prince shall promise vengeance, enslaving every genie in sight until the beast of burden is captured...The Genie...Nassirath.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]A year passes, and a figure has reappeared on the outskirts of Jafar ‘Asir. The new King has kept his promise, and life is harder on every Genie, now bound in their silver chains and held prisoner behind the city walls. The time has come for freedom, however. Will you choose to fight for justice, or seek to keep the magical creatures down in this amazing fantasy adventure known as “Arabian Nights.”[/BCOLOR]
~Setting~
[BCOLOR=transparent]The City of Jafar ‘Asir; a Dry desert landscape, the city settled within a thriving oasis. With the death of the old king, the thriving city has fallen into chaos and near Ruin. In the center of the city rests the dazzling Palace of Riyah Gralan, possibly one of the most immaculate places in the entire city. Outside the giant palace walls, rests the Market central surrounded by the homes of the citizens of Jafar ‘Asir. The city’s Market central is stuffed to the brim with Merchants from all over the world, offering up worlds of different items. On the outskirts of the city, rests the shanty towns of the poor, where thieves and danger are at every turn. The homeless are common in these towns, showing the true “wealth” that the city has to offer. Placed in the Silk Road, trade routes connecting all of Asian, as well as parts of Europe, means that the Diversity of Jafar 'Asir is larger that life, welcoming people of all backgrounds.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
Plot
[BCOLOR=transparent]The story revolves around the Kingdom of Jafar ‘Asir, a world of magic and fantasy. Genies use to roam free, able to use their magic as they please and were happy. They were rich, holding hoards of gold that healed them and regenerated their lost energy. The King of the kingdom soon heard word of this and grew greedy, seeking to take the gold that the Genies held so dear. The war soon started, humans against Genie and who was once friends turned enemies. Darkness fell over the kingdom, being that the genies were able to harness such strong powers, however, the humans soon found ways to fight back and take control. Powers from the East soon came into their hands. Spells and Runes that, once used on the Genies, would turn them human and strip them of their powers...and silver that would burn them and weaken their abilities. The humans had found ways to fight back, and soon the tides of war turned to favor them. The Genies, unable to fight against the strong eastern magic, were imprisoned and turned into slaves of the Kingdom of Jafar ‘Asir, only able to use their powers if their new found masters wished such.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]However, a single Genie, Nassirath, managed to escape from his prison, breaking the Rune that bound him and fleeing the palace...However, only with blood on his hands. The Death of the Great king suddenly was held over the Genie’s head, meaning he would have to go into hiding, but he promised to free his brothers and sisters still bound by the horrid magic the humans used. There would be a day when they would be able to run free again.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The story starts a year after the King’s Murder. His son has taken the throne and is now causing pain not only for the genies, but for his own people. The kingdom has fallen into ruin, the young prince’s mind so clouded with greed. The humans are starting to riot and the prince has become merciless, killing all who stand against him. The Genie’s feel the brunt of his anger, being mercilessly killed and tortured upon the streets as they call out for salvation, however, a group of rebels has appeared, Genie, fighting back against the King’s Tyranny to bring peace and prosperity to the kingdom of Jafar ‘Asir. They have gained friends along the way. Genie sympathizers who seek to use them to restore Jafar ‘Asir to what it once was. With so many ulterior motives, what will happen? Who will win? Will they succeed in their fight? Will Jafar ‘Asir be restored? Will the Genies be free once more?[/BCOLOR]
~Thing to Know~
[BCOLOR=transparent]This RP will be a story-based RP, meaning that all fights shall be preplanned[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent] (just mentioning that before you guys ask.)[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]What is a Genie?- A genie is much like many of you would know them as; a Magical being able to perform deeds many would have thought to be impossible They never age, having no REAL form and being able to do things such as...Turning the tides of battle, creating gold at their fingertips, you name it and a Genie can do it, however, they are imprisoned creatures, breakers being placed on their powers, only allowing them to perform if their master makes a wish. However, if a genie is free, their powers are restored, and they are able to do as they wish.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]What do a Genie’s powers look like?- All Genies have a theme to their powers (example: My Genie, Nassirath, has the theme of Black butterflies. Other examples include fire, water, smoke, flower petals, snow, sparkles, leaves, etc.) These are only the look of the powers itself, a genie can conjure many spells.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent] Limitations to a Genie’s power- Mana; a genie requires Mana in order to use magic. When they use up all their magic, it has to be restored with Gold, which many tend to carry. If a Genie’s gold is taken away, a genie shall not be able to use their magic. (Common sense right?)[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]If a Genie does not age, can they die?- Yes of course, with the use of Silver. When silver is used against a Genie, it acts like a Kryptonite, weakening them and making them vulnerable. Use silver weapons to take down a Genie.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]What is Imprisoning these Genies?- magic from the west. The humans have managed to Harness runes which, when in contact with the Genie, can bind them to the human, draining them of their abilities and essentially making them human. However, whenever their master makes a wish, the genie is able to perform that magic. Whoever holds the rune, rules the Genie, which is why many of these runes are passed down from generation to generation through families. To be able to free a Genie, one must break the rune that binds them, freeing them from their master, and restoring their abilities. [/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]What does a Rune look like?- A rune is a stone of purple Crystal, with a single symbol representing the Genie that it has bound. The stone is about the size of your fist, light enough to be carried in your hand and not easily broken.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]

~The Characters~
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]
~The Characters~
The Human-
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Genie Sympathizers, seeking to restore Jafar ‘Asir to it’s original self. Some of these people have ulterior motives, only looking to help themselves. Some may want to turn on the Genies the first chance they get. While MOST wish to live in harmony with the creatures and set them free. These people wish to overthrow the evil king that has taken over the Kingdom.[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]The Aristocrats- the people within the Palace. These characters seek to dispose of the Genies and leave the kingdom the way it is (They are living the good life, so why are they worried?) All of these people shall own one or multiple genies, and are usually greedy and cruel to the creatures. There are some that sympathize with the creatures, treating them with more kindness, but mainly they are all bad. This group includes the New King (NPC).[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Merchants- Merchants remain rather, neutral to the ordeal happening in Jafar 'Asir. Many of them come from far away lands, offering magical creatures and things of wonder to the people of Jafar. They have been known to own Genies, so you can make own your master if you wish. They call sell possibly anything you want them too.[/BCOLOR]
Following the Merchants would be street performers. The do not necessarily sell anything, but the do offer entertainment for the masses. They can be composed of humans and magical beings alike (very limited amount, so good reason if you wish to be one.)
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Genie-[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Imprisoned are the Genies behind the city walls, under the slavery of many different people of the City. They usually belong to the Aristocrats of the Palace area, but are known to be members of Upper Middle-Class families. They are not known to belong to the poor, but it want happen. Some are owned by Merchants as well. Their existence is one of fear and pain, enduring the humiliating and often cruel laws that the king has set upon them.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Rebels are under the Genie Nassirath (My character) and have been freed from the runes. With their powers returned, they seek to free the others within the walls, while searching for ways to dispose of the king. They are known to work with the sympathizers in assassination attempts, but mainly they are looking to educated the humans and seek peace with them. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Other Creatures of Fable and Myth-[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]The Merchants come offering these creatures, usually the Slaver merchants and they are very few between. They may also be street performers. Be creative with the creature, but try to make it stay true to the Arabian/ Egyptian setting that is set. (not required) Good examples would be a Phoenix, or something dealing with sand. Stay true to the geography. (Very limited amount of people I will accept for this. If you can give me a good reason for making one, then I will allow it.) [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]Rules[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Rules[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]Absolutely NO GODMODDING allowed. I understand that the Genies are very powerful creatures, however, they have limits and drain quickly depending on how large their spell is. When they run out, they RUN OUT, meaning that they will have to recharge. No Gold = No recharge. Sorry dears.[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]I would prefer to get by without those Mary/Gary Sues/Stews.[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]Be reasonable with the characters you make. They should not be good at EVERYTHING. They have weaknesses, so make sure you put them.[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]Treat each other with absolute respect. OOC drama can ruin an RP and it will NOT be tolerated. Whatever problem you have with each other BETTER BE TAKEN TO PC. NO EXCEPTIONS LOVES <3[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]If conflicts do Happen (which they will). Please contact the Mod or the GM immediately, loves.[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]Active Players. I want this RP to go somewhere, so do not join unless you are willing to be active and put forth the effort to post.[/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]Correct spelling and Grammar is a must. [/BCOLOR]
- [BCOLOR=transparent]Each post must be a length of 3 sizable paragraphs or more. Do not think that a single sentence or a single paragraph will get you by in this RP.[/BCOLOR]
- I, as a GM of this role play, have the right to remove those who do not abide to the rules by this role play. I will also add rules, should the need arise.
- I do not want to be overrun by one character type. Take the time to read ALL character sheets and keep things spread out and Diverse. Diversity is key to a good RP.
- DO NOT CLUTTER THE SIGN-UPS WITH CHIT-CHAT. I HAVE MADE A OOC THREAD SO USE THAT TO TALK TO EVERYONE, PLEASE!
