TL;DR: diana agrees to go to the mayors' place with jeremiah lol

Diana nodded slowly, her head cocked slightly to the side as she pondered his words and his expressions. She smiled.

"Well, then, that's probably why! I stayed near the rear, so I didn't see much of anybody at all," she remarked, " I wasn't much help during the battle, I'm afraid. I'm no help most of the time," she added, her voice suddenly growing soft.

She took up stirring her pink drink some more as her face morphed into that of a concerned mother for half a second. Something about the battle troubled her new friend, she decided. He was very suddenly quite reserved once she brought up the topic that she, herself, was not a fan of. Therefore, the much more desirable option was to change the subject rather than pry at it more. She opened her mouth to add something about the weather before a rather menacing fellow made his presence known in the tavern. Diana's head cocked to the side once more as she pondered the stranger, brushing the hair that had fallen over her eyes back behind her ear. She didn't have much time to contemplate what the newcomer's intentions could be before he mentioned them himself. The messenger promptly delivered his message, leaving the apostles to decide what to do next.

Diana peered over the note in Jeremiah's hand politely before sitting back down, satisfied.

"I think so, too," she said in reply to his offer. She was steadily growing more curious about what the Mayor had to say, and was quite eager to continue in the conversation she was having. "Shall we be off, then?"

Already knowing his answer, she stood and swept the imaginary crumbs off of her skirt and turning to him.

Tl;DR:
Althea was heaping praise on Ren and she didn't know how to react. She shuffled through her mental notes on how people respond to compliments, quickly deciding on, "thank you."

Ren started to blush, uncertain that anyone would really want her to be like that and still think she was cool. Most people just ran away screaming at wolves. For now, stuffing more bacon down her maw would be enough of a distraction. It was just about then when a man appeared behind Ren and nearly caused Ren to leap out of her seat.

He said that the Mayor was asking to speak with them, and then started to leave.

"But... my bacon..." Ren said, looking mournfully at the pile.

She sighed and grabbed a handful to take with her and eat and another to shove into her bag. She waved for the others to follow her and started down the street. She tried to stuff down the fear from the looks of people as she walked, wondering how long it was going to be until she was chased out of the city.

"Do you know if Mayar is a scary person? Ren didn't do anything wrong, right?" Ren said, barely focusing through the fear. "Ren was a Good, right? Ren killed the Bad. Wanted to Help."

Hopefully she'd get some reassurance from the messenger or the other Apostles. Ren really hoped that Sorod would be there, so she could hide behind him. He was a great wall between her and other people. Sorod was good at Protecting and was a Safe. If nothing else, Ren could just cling tightly to someone's sleeves. Surely, the others wouldn't mind, right?

TL;DR - The arrival of other Apostles saves Payne from his confrontation. Gets ready to follow the messenger.

As Morwen joined the small confrontation between Payne and the guard, Payne quietly slipped the jar into his bag. His hands were still shaking.

"I'm quite alright. The battle has just left me a bit shell-shocked, that's all. I couldn't help but think what may have happened, were we not here. My worries may have gotten the better of me. I apologize for making a scene."

The soldier gave a suspicious glance once more at Payne's bag, but at Lilirel's approach, he shook his head and went back to his drink.

Payne took a deep breath, and went back to eating his typha. He would dispose of that soul later, when he was alone. Though possession of such a thing was by no means a taboo to his kind, working with the soul tended to make other races.... uncomfortable.

Just as Payne was preparing to offer thanks to his fellow Apostles for the interruption they had provided, the messenger arrived.

Hearing the message, Payne stood up, swallowed his water, and turned to the door.

"I suppose we should get going. Shouldn't keep a man in power waiting."

- Morwen exchanges some words with Lilirel then listens to Payne say that there was a battle.
- Now she's curious about finding the details of the battle.
- Payne is interrupted by the messenger and she gives them a dirty stare.
- She follows the messenger and is now standing in the mayors office by the door with a reluctance to speak.

Morwen swatted Lilirels hand away from her head and let out a unhappy grunt, she glanced over to look at the rather intimidating woman beside her and rolled her eyes. "Lili, must you do this stuff out of the Abbey?" She muttered, fixing her ruffled hair. The young dark elf let out a scoff at the next thing that Lilirel said and shook her head. "Is a phobia not when you fear something? I prefer to work alone." She corrected the woman and then drifted her attention to Payne as he spoke of a battle that left him a little bit shaken up. Just as it seemed like Payne was going to say something else, the messenger appeared and she gave them a dirty stare and crossed her arms over her chest.

"I have come in the name of our town leader: Granite Taruhm. He wishes an audience with the Apostles that aided our town during the storm and would like to discuss additional matters with them at length. Please follow me, if you would,"

Despite not being present at the battle, Morwen still followed the messenger. Since leaving the tavern, she stayed silent and observant as she walked through the town with some of her companions. The dark elf couldn't help but wonder what had happened, and why there was a battle to begin with but she concluded in her head that she would soon figure out why once arriving at the mayors home and office. The purple hue of the lights gave her a comfortable feeling, as it was similar to the purple tone of her skin, her skin only being a few shades darker than the light itself. She let out an inaudible sigh and instead of taking a seat close to the warm fire of the room they were brought to, she took a spot against a wall near the door, watching closely, ready to merge into the shadows if she needed to.

Her mind wandered as they waited for everyone to arrive. She thought of their mission and the reason why she was given orders to leave the abbey by the Abbot in the first place. Of course, she knew of the importance of their mission and would do anything to protect her people and the sacred art of The Way.

TLDR:
  • Lilirel joins Payne and Morwen as they decide to make their way to the Mayor's home.
  • She takes her food with her, eating on the way.
  • She introduces herself to Granite.

YY53pcY.png

“If I’m not the one to pester you Morwen dear who will?” Lilirel raised a brow and looked at her fellow apostle in a rather smug manner. “Everyone needs a little pestering.” She spoke rather nonchalantly and shrugged. Tourmaline eyes glanced towards the bearded man before returning to the dark elf as she spoke again. There was a nod of understanding that was perhaps a little overexaggerated, both of Lilirel’s brows coming up. “You are correct. A phobia is indeed when you fear something. But what is the reason behind this preference you have?”

Before the conversation could carry on the three were approached by what seemed to be a messenger. There was a spiel that Lilirel somewhat listened to. Her attention moving between the apostles she sat with. Watching Morwen and Payne follow, Lilly shrugged, “I don’t see an issue in making him wait.” She muttered to herself as she drank some water. A serf approaching the table she sat at with a large plate. Standing up she eyed the young lad who approached. “Can I bring this back?” She asked rather simply as she pointed to the plate of food.

Taking hold of it Lilirel decided that it was only fair for her to borrow the dish she paid for and return it once she finished with its contents. Nodding in thanks to the serf she was quick to follow her group out while also devouring her food. “It’s nice to reap the rewards without having done anything isn’t it?” Lilirel spoke between bites of food and in a joking manner. “Unless this town leader is looking to give us some sort of scolding for helping out with that storm.” Lily glanced towards Morwen as she kept pace with her while trying to finish her food.

Thankfully Lilirel had managed to finish her meal before arriving at Granite Tarhum’s home. Unfortunately, she had been stuck carrying around an empty plate from the tavern. She had to make sure she returned it. Her eyes took in the large manor. The nice floors and carpets, the sculptures and other art. As the town leader, Lilirel wasn’t surprised that he lived so comfortably.

They were escorted to a room and Lilirel chose to stand behind one of the many available seats for others. The flickering flames lighting roughly half of her face as she kept her gaze on the dwarf behind the desk. With the slightest movement or turn of her head, her eyes would shimmer in an odd, reflective way. Almost like a wild animal in the darkness. “My name is Lilirel Rivermore.” She bowed her head respectfully towards the man.

TooLongDidn'tRead: The Apostles are summoned for an audience with the mayor of the town who has his own concerns...

The Mayor's Hall

In the spacious and comfortable meeting room big enough for even Sorod, Mayor Taruhm allowed some time for the Apostles to gather inside and introduce themselves. The doors would be shut after the last group arrived. Guards would let in additional Apostles as they came. For those that heeded the call first, however, it was time to discuss.

"Thank you all for coming and for your assistance in repelling the Chaos Storm. As a reward for your efforts, I have arranged for the businesses in our town to supply you with what you need free of charge and to give you preferential treatment for the duration of your stay with us."

The dwarf had the smooth voice of a charismatic speaker and the warmth of a doting grandfather. His eyes were just as piercing as ever, however, and his kindness quickly went cold.

"Now to business. Your group was not summoned for and you travel in a large number quite a ways from your abbey. To where and to whom do you mean to go to war with?"

The dwarf patiently waited for answers. To the more perceptive among the party, it seemed as though the dwarf had some awareness of typical Apostle business and their strength. His words were also not to be taken literally. Likely, he was just inquiring into the nature of their mission and how it may affect his town.

A few guards standing in the room to keep watch pretended not to be listening in on the conversation as they attempted to stay vigilant.

The Last Stop Cafe

As Zayne was readying to discuss with Giles and heed the Mayor's call, a to-go cup of coffee would be offered to him. Without any additional adds, he would find the drink to already be seasoned to his particular taste. Was Mr. Yang that good at guessing customer preferences? Or did he perhaps remember...

"It's on the house, kid,"

Mr. Yang replied over his shoulder as he hobbled off into the back.

TL;DR: Knell receives the summons and is one of the last to arrive. She has her misgivings about the entire thing...

Knell had looked up when a messenger came over, handing over a neatly written letter. She squinted at the fancy wording, trying to make heads or tails of it. Thank god the Abbey taught her how to read and write...somewhat. She was still in the process of learning. But it seemed like she was being summoned, even with her injuries. With a huff as she neatly put away the letter in her pants pocket, she slipped out of bed quietly and looked around for her clothes. Her eyes flickered to the food she still had not finished as she bit her lip. ...Perhaps she could take it with her? Once she found her other clothing and put it on, she went to the plate and began stuffing the food in her other pocket. She could fix that later, but for now...well, now she had to go, and she could munch on the way. Taking a small bit of the fruits she put in there, she began to eat hurriedly as she made her way to the area she was to go.

The food ended up disappearing quickly once she found everyone else heading in the same direction, looking at everyone with relief as she squeaked her way past the guards, being one of the very last to enter the hall. Her eyes shifted to her comrades for a moment before flickering to the dwarf before her. "...Knell. Just Knell," she grunted out her greeting. With a quiet huff, she crossed her arms and listened to the Mayor, eyes glinting yet hidden underneath her hood. She stared at the man's eyes critically, uncertain as to whether she should trust him yet. And then...he began to ask where they were all going. Understandable, but even then...what if he turned on them? She shuddered as her mind raced of possibilities of him throwing them in jail or even leading them on when it came to their quest. Was it worth it, to tell? Was he trustworthy? If this town was alright...gah, she had no idea, her head was buzzing with thoughts of betrayal. Her hands curled into fists while remaining crossed, eyes shifting to everyone frantically as she hoped they would answer. For now, she would remain silent, she did not want to make a fuss quite yet, lest her words bring ruin to them all.

TL;DR
> Heads to the Mayor's home letting Giles know he'll meet him there.
> Introduced himself to Mayor.
> Informing the Mayor of what the Apostles are after and asking for information if the Mayor has any about the thief.
_____________________________________
While waiting for a response from Giles about the strange man that approached the two of them on the subject of following and meeting with the leader of the town. The sudden tap of Zayne's shoulder had caught the male off guard only for him to turn around and find Mister Yang handing him a small to-go cup for the road that he had requested from earlier; being informed that it was free and watching as the elderly man walked off, Zayne brought his gaze down onto the cup he held with both hands as the scent was nostalgic. Rather than drink it immediately, he turned away from the leaving elderly man just to begin walking in the direction of where the messenger had walked off towards, only turning his head over his shoulder to see if his fellow Apostle was going to follow. "Um...I'll meet you there. Surely the others will probably be heading there as well if this is for all of us."

After stating this and going after the messenger's trail, it was only a matter of time that Zayne came to the humble home of the Mayor. Eyeing his surroundings as he was quickly halted at the entrance by two guards that asked his business there; handing the letter to the guards who took the time to read it before informing Zayne to follow one of them. The hooded male only nodded before progressing to follow the guard through the halls of the home before reaching the doors that lead into the office of the Mayor.

Upon entering, Zayne found himself in the presence of a few of the other Apostles as well as the last bit of the words that an old dwarf had questioned the Apostles about where they were heading as well as whom the war was against. Surely with the sight of the age of the dwarf as well as how he so bluntly questioned the Apostles in such a way probably meant this man was the Mayor.

"Apologies to interrupt and my lateness sir. I am Zayne Yoshmitsu." Clasping his hands together before bowing his head in respects to the leader of the town. The last thing he wanted to do was to make things worse for himself against the Mayor in any way at the moment.

Waiting for mere seconds to see if anyone was going to reply to the dwarf's question, Zayne took it upon himself to answer it. The idea of hiding truths from this town had lead to many mistakes Zayne had to learn the hard way and he personally did not want to end up getting a more bad reputation than he already remembered here.
"We are in search of a relic that was stolen from the Abbey. We are sent on this mission by the Abbot to find this thief and return the relic...If you have seen any suspicious travelers pass by here, we would greatly appreciate it if you could please give us any information you may have."

TooLongDidn'tRead: Sorod is going to join the crew, but before he does, he is polite and introduces himself to the guards.

Sorod eventually came upon the little messenger that was supposed to give him the letter. Alas, it was too small for him to handle, so instead, he just went straight to where he was apparently supposed to go, failing to keep track of the messenger before they disappeared from his sight.. Before that though, the walk back to the town was eventful enough, for him at least, because he got to see more of the terrain. Battling against the Swarm and Storm, he didn't get the opportunity to appreciate the town and area more. Now, he can. He made sure to walk slower than usual, so he could take in more of the vicinity. He even waded into the river for a few moments, although he couldn't feel it, he knew it was "cool to the touch". This little leisure walk continued for a few more minutes, and during those minutes, he managed to get mud all over his lower body. Even inside the joints. He could feel something slowing him down, and he couldn't shake it off no matter how many times he swung his feet.

"So-This is not good-Rod. So-I will ask for help-Rod."

Dirty Sorod now moved with three purposes pushing him forward: One, to check in his companions; Two, to visit the place he's supposed to go to; Three, get someone to clean up the clumps of whatever in his joints, and possibly have someone polish him up right after. He liked looking clean when he can, though he doesn't particularly care for his appearance, he knows being sanitary is a big plus when it comes to socialising.

Back to the topic of jim visiting the mayor, right through the streets, he lumbered without a care for any of the stares that he might receive. When he finally finds himself near the entrance of the Mayor's abode, he'll try to get someone's attention, which probably ain't too hard, so he could get inside. He doesn't want to just barge, that'd be rude!

"So-I am Sorod the Guardian-Rod. So-I have been called-Rod! So-Where are my companions-Rod?"

Having the decency to ask but not the tact to do it properly, Sorod slapped a metal hand against his chest while he shouted to... Likely everyone.

TLDR: The Abbots summons to the quest brought her to the town. In the mayor's hall she speaks to him with unbound ruin. Until she is interrupted by Sorod's loud introduction.

Boundless travel, swift feet as silent as the greatest forest in the morn. The Abbots summon to the quest brought her later to the group. She remained quiet during the abbots narrative. A thief, a rat that should have been caught before it could scurry away with a precious relic. She took it as insult to herself and the Abbot himself that it was allowed. But she kept her tongue still, and did as commanded. Join the others, find the thief, If she finds him alone he will not live for long.

At her travels she knew the area well. Logic would suggest the same route they had taken, she would not admit she was lost even if it was attempted to be pried from her teeth. As she came to pass a traveler once trapped in Taruhm as the storm raged outside. He spoke of apostles and their contribution to its end. With his words she followed the path and entered the outskirts of the town. She had missed a battle. A grave disappointment to the Okra. As she enjoyed nothing more than to destroy such creatures. She looked at one creature, the lifeless body of one of the ratmen. A steel boot pressed on the skull and watched as the bone broke underneath it.

She could almost feel the moment its life ended. A shuddered breath was signed enough she had spent to long enjoying the scene. She scrapped off the flesh, and bone fragment on the back of the rat and entered Taruhm. Her attention was drawn to an approaching figure. She eye'd him with an inquisitive calm. A messenger gifted her the letter of visitation. She opened the message, and read the contents. There was no doubt in her mind the other apostles would be at the Mayor's hall.

At her approach of the marvelous architecture of the Mayor's building. She caught a glimpse of the apostles entering. She followed, offering no greeting to the guards a mere glance and straightening of the back was greeting enough. As she came to enter. Valeria caught the end of the Mayor's question, Payne's dialogue. Finding herself unwilling to not continue it. She passed the apostles, the pale grey cape softly gracing the length of her body. The metal of her armour shifting at her every move.

"Yes...A thief. A cockroach hiding in the walls, difficult to find. And even harder to kill. But even cockroaches have friends." her gaze turned to the guards. In mere strides she passed one and caught his attention. "There is another matter. The thief no doubt is aware such an act of burglary will not be tolerated. A thief is cunning, he knows we will be coming." Valeria choose her next words carefully, she remained calm in her voice but her eyes showed a zealous presence.

" I want him to know. That we are."

"He will not know sleep, he will not know peace, I am patient, I will wait. Even if I have to hunt him for a thousand years. His ilk will be hunted like a king hunts the boar. Surrounded by the many. Beaten, and broken until no life is left in his eyes. He will know only wrath. All those who think to follow his path will see his body as an example. As it swings from the Abbey walls! Huthri Akres Uskriv Aldas Dothvir-" In her chant she had stepped towards the mayor but the distant sound of Sorod at the entrance gathered her attention.

In a breath she returned "Would someone be so kind as to allow Sorod inside. Before he shatters the glass. Please."

TLDR: Jeremiah confirms to Sorod that some Apostles are in the residence of the Mayor, and has some private thoughts.

Jeremiah heard the pounding on the door, along with Sorod's extremely distinct voice. Thankfully, it stopped the paladin's frankly tiring diatribe. On one hand, he could envy that she could give herself so fully for a cause. On the other hand, she sounded like the last person he would want to be friends with. Not that he would actually mention to her how edgy she sounded or how much her zealotry annoyed him. It wasn't her fault that he wasn't a fan of her words. That kind of thinking was not for him. Besides that...he wasn't sure how well she would tolerate him if he ever revealed that he wasn't the mermaid he pretended to be- or what he had done. The Abbot redeemed him, and he held devotion to the man, but he could not predict how she or any of them would react to the real him.

"Sorod! We're in here! I mean, I would let you in, but as this is not my place of residence, I would not want to offend the master of this place, Mayor Taruhm." Jeremiah said, calling out to Sorod and mentioning the mayor at the same time. The others had summarized their goal quite well, and he wouldn't be adding much to the conversation by reiterating what they had just said. Even so, with the obvious way the man's tone shifted, he was preparing himself for battle, in case the mayor decided their presence, although having been useful before, was not to be desired. Chaos entered into his throat and stayed there, weaving it's way into his voice as only his species could, in ready to use his song on the mayor and his guards if needed. At least he was standing next to someone he knew, who at least, learning from her response, had not actually been mocking him, more relieving than even he had realized.

-Giles gets a small cup of coffee
-Giles follows Zayne to the Mayor's Office
-Giles sees Sorod and pokes fun at him

As Zayne passed by, Giles gave a quick nod of acknowledgement. "Mayor's house, right...". He turned to follow him, but in the corner of his eye he caught glimpse of the small porcelain coffee cup. Though he tried to abstain himself, Giles hadn't had coffee in a hot minute and the cup was was just sitting there, ever so tantalizing. Finally, Giles gave in, and with a groan he rushed over the counter and picked up the cup, not before exchanging thanks to the barista.

Hurriedly, he exited the cafe and surveyed the streets for any signs of Zayne. His eyes locked onto a blue haired individual far ahead of him, it had to be Zayne. With a quick tug on his hat, Giles began his pursuit, all the while sipping on the beverage in hand.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Giles had finally made it to the end of his little 'journey'. He had saw Zayne enter the building ahead of him, along with a much more comical sight. He saw Sorod, covered in muck, waiting outside like a puppy, if said puppy was over 20ft tall and made out of metal. With a chuckle, Giles walked over to the golem and knocked on his feet to get his attention.

"Tracked mud in the house eh?" Giles chortled as he stood by for any response.

TLDR:
- Althea comforts Ren and accompanies her to the Mayor's manor
- She acknowledges the newest members of the party, but doesn't introduce herself yet
- Some thoughts are made about the mission at hand

Althea listened intently as the messenger read the letter out loud for Ren. She thanked the man and followed the wolf girl out as she stuffed bacon into her pockets (much to Althea's dismay, as she just washed that jacket...). When she heard Ren's woes, she replied:

"I've never met the Mayor before, but I assume that he'll be nice."

Seeing the fear grip the girl, Althea grabbed her hand in reassurance. It was ice cold.

"
Hey... don't worry. We didn't do anything wrong, and even if we did, we're all together."

Walking up the steps to the Mayor's manor, Althea couldn't help but get a sense of foreboding. The enchanted flames were a nice aesthetic, but the flickering flames cast razor sharp shadows across the blank exterior. Most of the apostles were flooding through the doors, and Althea caught a glimpse of some new followers. One was a Dark Elf that seemed to have a trail of shadow trailing in her footsteps. She had heard bad things about these elves, but if she was allowed into the group she had the Abbot's approval, so Althea accepted it and moved on. The other was a tall woman in white armor, almost blinding in the torchlight.

When approaching the Mayor, Althea left Ren's grasp and bowed politely before the man. He seemed nice enough, and offered to give whatever provisions were needed for the trip onward. However, just as the exterior of the manor had been, his face took a dark turn as he asked who we were deployed to invade.

I guess we are a bit of an eyesore... Althea thought to herself. No wonder why he thinks we're invading.

After thinking about it, she realized that the Mayor was giving them whatever they wanted in fear of invasion, and Althea smiled pitifully.

I feel like we're the bad guys in this scenario... I'll have to remind my self to restrain myself in my demands.

After Zayne attempted to explain to the Mayor their intentions, the new girl stepped forward and made a speech that almost made Althea laugh out loud. She was definitely a noble, trying to make the more mundane task seem more epic than it really was. However, she did have a point: was the thief in league with anyone else? Up until now, Althea had envisioned some generic crook that was fleeing into the wilds to lay low, but if he was working for someone, how powerful were they? Is this why the Abbot had deployed an army to hunt down one man?

TL;DR: Stella followed behind the initial group that went into the mayor's quarters and listened in on the conversation while thinking about the mission they were currently on.

Stella had followed up with Lilirel, making sure to stay behind in the room for a little. Judging by Lilirel and her reactions it wouldn't be the first time that she had gotten super drunk and caused some trouble, but that reaction also was a little too mild for Stella's liking. She thought it would've been much more interesting, maybe even seeing the super strong lady blushing even, but in the end it didn't happen. She followed up towards the tavern and grabbed herself some food, before she noticed that everyone had begun gathering in small groups once again. Stella just decided to enjoy her meal alone while observing her group mates more, trying her best to see if there is anything she can use to play a prank once again like she did before with Lilirel. Her plans were put to a halt however, when the invitation from the mayor came to them.

Quickly finishing up her meal, she followed the people who were with her in the tavern towards the destination, wondering why the mayor had specifically summoned them to see him. Once they were inside, she immediately could feel the power from the man that was in the room, the amount of guards that they saw on the way here were astounding to see. She stayed silent as she knew this was a serious event, but she can't help but admire the interior of the place. Her attention got immediately pulled back to the mayor when he spoke, and when he asked about their quest, Stella couldn't help but stare at the man in front of them. Although his words were about war and a fight, she could tell that he was only trying to know more about the big group that came in. Stella quickly did a scan through the group, and allowed the others to speak up their mind. She was glad that Zayne had tried to explain the situation, but had let a laugh slip when Sorod's voice rung through the halls. Thankfully Jeremiah and Valeria communicated with Sorod, and Stella could bring her attention back to the discussion at hand.

It was true, their mission was to find the thief that had stolen an important relic, but until now Stella didn't understand why so many people were needed to track down this so called 'thief' they were looking for. Of course, to be able to steal a relic from the watchful eyes of the people in the Abbey must mean the this thief has outstanding skills. Even so, surely they wouldn't need this many people to capture one single thief. Stella still didn't really understand much of what is happening currently, but it was obvious that this thief, whoever it may be, might be related to an even bigger scheme of things, and to have so many people assigned on this mission must mean something, at least, that's what Stella thought. Stella had kept quiet throughout the entire discussion, not wanting to say something that might turn the conversation sour, but ready to take in any information that the mayor might provide for their mission.

- Morwen has to hold back saying rude things to Lilirel.
- She bribes lilirel to tell her about the battle with alcohol.
- She gets tired of being in the presence of others.
- So she dips out and goes back to the tavern via teleport.
- She orders food to restore some energy.

]Morwen bit her tongue to stop herself from giving Lilirel a snap back response when she mentioned the phobia again. If Morwen were truly afraid of groups, she would have refused the Abbot and went on a solo mission by herself. "IF you were not pestering me, I'd be at peace, Lilirel." She found herself just observing the scenes unfold, as Zayne spoke, and a new face gave a speech that was fit enough for a hero's tale. She did not open her mouth once to introduce herself or to give any word of kindness to the mayor, she just observed with her dual coloured eyes. Though she was tempted to disappear into the darkest corner of the room, she kept her spot until she heard Sorods voice and then let out a soft scoff that could pass as a chuckle. After Lilirel introduced herself to the Mayor, she just dropped the topics they were previously discussing. If there was no need for her to answer the pestering questions that she asked, then she would keep her mouth closed.

She moved from her place on the wall and joined Lilirels side. "I need to know about this battle." She said quietly, at a volume only Lilirel could head. "After we are done here, I will buy you a drink if you tell me what happened." She offered. Her curiosity was just too strong, she wanted to know if the battle was something that was going to impact their travels. Most towns folk were already weary of them because of their strength, the last thing that they needed was more reasons for people to look at them with an even colder stare. She was also curious to know if the battle was connected in any way to the thief who stole the relic from the Abbey.

She remembered her days there with Lilirel fondly, only being able to warm up to Lilirel. She always assumed it was the chaos surrounding her, gave her a familiar feeling of her home before she was touched by deaths cold fingertips. That was when her chaos first gathered. As she remembered the feeling, a chill waved up her spine and she decided she'd take her quiet exit, glancing over her shoulder at her companions before she found the darkest corner from the light of the room and was engulfed from head to toe in shadows.

Morwen emerged again in the pub, where she felt more comfortable surrounded by the loud, rowdy ways of the drunken people. She knew that if she were to teleport one more time, she would need to take a rest, which is something she didn't want to do. So, instead, she ordered food as a way to replenish her energy.

TL;DR: diana is sick and lonely, talks to jerry

Diana held up her pink drink close to her like a child would hold a warm hot chocolate after a long day of playing in the snow to warm up. She had no choice but to carry it with her on the journey to the mayor's home because a server returned it to her while she was walking out the door, thinking she left it by mistake. So, every once and a while, while she quietly observed the conversation happening in the Mayor's keep, Diana continued the cycle of sipping the fruity liquid and concealing her gag with a polite cough. It wasn't that she was stupid, she just felt quite awkward where she stood and her mind was too preoccupied with thoughts to really think about what she was doing.

The small red-head girl stood next to the others, completely silent except for the occasional silent cough gag. She was barely noticeable, and she knew it. Worst of all, she felt a cold coming on. She was sniffing constantly and her cheeks were bright red from the oncoming fever. The poor girl was barely aware of her surroundings and really just wanted to talk with someone. She looked around idly for a conversation to join, wanting anything but this awkward silence. She turned to Jerimiah.

"This was kind of random, wasn't it?" she said, saying the only thing she could think of on the spot. She sniffed and wiped her nose with her sleeve discreetly.

TooLongDidn'tRead: The Apostles are summoned for an audience with the mayor of the town who has his own concerns...

Note From The Author: (open discussion with Granite and Eachother at the moment.)

The Mayor's Hall

Granite Taruhm closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose with a heavy sigh. The guards standing in the room were all wide eyed. The mayor did not seem to pleased, amused, or impressed with the behavior of the Apostles. Taking a moment to collect himself, the mayor let the group carry on for a bit before speaking again.

"A strange individual actually did visit us not long ago since you mention it. We found them in our mines. Only our miners are allowed in for safety and proprietary reasons. We originally assumed they were there to steal something something, but when we searched them, we found nothing. We kept a sharp eye on them until they left town shortly after. We know which way they went and can give a physical description..."

The dwarf added rather than continuing. He then reached into a side drawer and took out a glass and a bottle strong drink. Filling the glass before putting the bottle away, he took a few sips of the drink.

"...there's a favor I would ask of you Apostles. In exchange, we can share what we know of the individual and where they likely went. Additionally, we may also be able to offer passage there if it all works out."

Granite proposed the group as he sat back in his desk chair with his drink rest in both hands on his chest.

The Outside of the Mayor's Hall

"Whoa, big guy! You can't go in there like that. Someone get some buckets to wash this thing off!"

The guard at the front called as several others in the area moved to form a bucket line. So long as Sorod stood there, they would proceed to douse him with bucket after bucket of water until they could wash him to a presentable point. Meanwhile, Giles is led inside and left with the rest in the meeting hall. Eventually, Sorod would be allowed in as well.

The Tavern

The tavern was very much how the Apostles had left it: busy for lunch, filled with conversation about the battle the previous day, the apostles, and the mayor's summons. Occasionally, an out of town merchant or other guest would mention they were rerouted due to the closed off mountain pass.

Other than drinks and food, Morwen would be left alone. Despite business, she would also be given wide berth. Unlike the other Apostles, the townsfolk didn't seem so eager to get to know this latest one. Perhaps, it was related to the coming and going from shadows bit.

Tl;DR: Ren is afraid of the Mayor, barely avoids touching things, and asks what they have to do for the favor while hiding behind Zayne
Ren was surprised at the sudden contact. Most people didn't like touching her for long, she was cold. Literally. However, Althea was usually very good with the Big Words. So she could let the group decide how to best deal with the whole Mayer thing.

"Thank you, Little Mage. I am... not often Welcomed Sight." Ren said, trying to repeat the phrase she'd heard others use. It sounded fancy.

The manor itself was also fancy. Little Fires dotted the walls, making everything dance purple. The ominous lighting was lost on Ren, as she was immediately more interested in the paintings and busts. She was about to run her fingers over the items when she remembered the fancy No Touch rule. People who were Fancy did not like her Touching things.

Discussion about the thief went over Ren's head. She was told by the Abbot to track down a Bad. Why did the details matter? Then again... Ren supposed that there were a lot of Apostles.

Alas, Sorod wasn't there yet and Althea was busy thinking about the next step. Next best person to stand behind would be.... Ren went with Zayne. If nothing else, then she could look tough and rude if he needed her to be, or she could just be there letting him talk with all the Big Words. So Ren set about carefully scooting behind Zayne and trying to hide behind him.

"I... I don't mind Favors. But they're hard to do when we don't know what they are." Ren said, after hearing all the Mayer had said. "Oh, I am Sorenthath from the Abbey. It is nice to meet you, sir."

After she was done, she tucked herself behind Zayne again.

"Do the Big Words. Please, Blue Flame... uhm... Zyane." Ren asked. "You're better at them than me."

TLDR: Valeria asks about the mine. And considers the Mayor's favor.

The Mayor's words peaked her curiosity. The mines, her mind fixated on that significant piece of information. And as she listened a restlessness came upon her. A signal by the way both hands at the wrist rested on the hilt of her sword. It was an idle posture she unconsciously relaxed into, when the conversation interested her. As his words ceased, she began to speak. But was silenced by a much gentler voice. "I agree. A favor is hard to achieve when one does not understand the request. If you would explain in detail, what this favor entails. I would be willing to consider it. Of course I do not speak for all the apostles. Only myself."

"However, this mine you speak of. You say the individual that was found had nothing on their person. Curious. One does not enter into a mine, without reason. Unless they sought only to find darkness and rock." Valeria softened her voice, as she added "What can you tell me about this mine. The depth, its history. Anything that could warrant our attention. As I may investigate it, speak to the miners if you would allow it. To ensure no harm will befall your miners. It may also shine a light on our situation."

Valeria took note of the strong drink. The side of her that could not ignore such a strong drink was poison to the body. In a whisper, she spoke politely to the Mayor "I ask that you do not drink such strong beverages. It is not good for the body. Milk or herbal tea would be my suggestion." Valeria was close enough to be heard by the Mayor.

Llawr Silpad

TL;DR:
-Llawr converses cheerily with Ren and Althea
-About to introduce himself to Althea, Llawr notices the messenger approaching and cuts himself off
-After hearing the message of the mayor's summons, Llawr decides not to attend
-Llawr explores the town for a short period of time, conversing with locals
-After sensing active Chaos, Llawr follows his senses to the tavern where he sees Morwen and decides to approach her

Llawr listened to Ren's excited report with a smile of relief. "That's good, I'm glad you feel well. I'm sure the others will be fine too; they all seem really strong!"Of all the people in the group, Ren was of the few Llawr was already familiar with, so her well-being was a subject of interest for him at all times, just as it was with Diana. On that subject, he glanced over to where she was sitting to find that she was pleasantly speaking with another Apostle, so he figured she must be fine. His attention was brought back to the table at the squeaky sound of a small voice requesting to join them. Looking down, he saw the smallest of the Apostles had approached them. "Oh, of course! Please, feel free to join us," the boy accepted her request of accompaniment cheerfully.

When Ren spoke of Althea helping others, and offered that Llawr assist, the boy's face lit up with excitement. "Oh wow, you have abilities that can help people recover?! That's so amazing, I haven't seen anything like that beyond my own Blessing of Flora! I would love to help and see your ability in action!" When the little Magi immediately shot them down, Llawr looked a little surprised at the rejection before smiling in defeat with a shrug. "Oh well, I guess if you're uncomfortable with it then that's fine." The Cait Sith turned back to his plate of food and began eating. As their smallest companion spoke of Ren's prowess in combat, Llawr would silently nod his head in agreement with a mouth full of food. When she directed her praise towards Llawr himself, however, he was caught by surprise and ended up spitting out the food in his mouth as if he had been unexpectedly smacked hard on the back.

The boy wasn't quite used to receiving praise in the first place, so for Althea to go so far as to call Llawr cool with a sense of awe to her expression made him somewhat embarrassed. With a pink face and nervous smile, he raised one hand to scratch the back of his head while he tried to refute her outstanding compliment; "N-no, no way. I'm nothing special really; especially by Apostle standards! It's hardly worth such praise. By the way, we never properly introduced. My name's-" Before he could continue, Llawr sensed an intense presence approaching and froze as his gaze dashed towards the messenger that had just entered the tavern, no trace of his carefree expression left on his face. When the messenger spoke of a meeting with the town's mayor, however, the tension left his face and he gave a relieved sigh.

As Ren and Althea got up to follow the messenger, Llawr also felt the other Apostles within the tavern standing to do the same. Quickly making a somewhat rogue decision that was supported by Althea's presence to help Ren's clearly rattled state, Llawr spoke up to the two; "You guys go on ahead. I think I actually want to explore the town a bit instead. We should talk more when the meeting's over!" The boy felt an aura of extreme tension surrounding the messenger, which he had no doubts that Ren had also picked up on at least subconsciously. Had Althea not been there he would naturally go with his friend to help her relax, but now he felt like his attendance might not be necessary, especially given the size of their group. With that, he wave a temporary farewell to his comrades before returning to his meal.

After finishing his food and returning his plate, Llawr left the tavern and began walking around the town. An important lesson he had learned early on in life is that when you take refuge in someone else's home it's only right that you become familiar with the locals to put their nerves to rest. With that in mind, he explored with the intent to both become familiar with the town's layout and also converse with the residents. He would cheerily greet the adults and introduce himself to them, and occasionally would play with some children. Before much time had passed, however, his senses picked up on the presence of active Chaos, albeit nonthreatening. Even so, it was a presence he wasn't directly familiar with, so he decided to check it out. His senses led him back to the tavern from earlier, where he saw a Dark Elf woman. Unsure of who she was at first, the sight of wisping shadows at her feet gave him a revelation to her possible identity.

In a mere moment, Llawr had silently approached the woman in a way that would be difficult to notice him, although unintentionally so. Once he was next to her, he finally spoke up with a bright smile to make his presence known to her; "Hello! Pardon my intrusion, but do you happen to be the Apostle known as 'The Butterfly'?!"
