TL,DR: Labra has been spooked by rocks falling. Bad, she fell off. Hurt her ribs, more bad. Small brain burp, left her wand on the ground(still didn't notice), decided to do an weird thing involving her Chaos and her Core, in short, she showed everyone who was watching her her core and her hair. Trusting people, maybe? (Big gesture of trust) Now has a small ball of Moon Chaos and is looking for someone who has similar Chaos to try a spell that might help, probably not going to find someone whos perfect, so might have to go with random person and hope they don't die. Just kidding...mostly. She really need to find someone with similar-ish Chaos lines.

A huuuuuuge crash startled the small Imp off her perch around Lilirel's neck, making her squeak and roll off backwards. She landed on the ground with a grunt and a small thud from landing on her chest. She sat up and clutched the fabric covering her chest for a moment, pain coursing through her ribs. Ow, ow, ow, ow. My ribs hurt. Note to self, stop falling off of high places. High places bad for small child. Labra wiped her lips with her sleeve then stared at the blood on it, wincing in pain. She looked around and saw the party members either sitting/leaning on walls, or standing around Althea, getting healed. A cough rippled through the Moon Child's body and she winced, flecks of blood appearing on her lips. A small pain-filled whine came out of her mouth before she clamped her mouth shut, pushed herself into a standing position and staggered over to a small rock, collapsing on it and unknowingly leaving her wand behind her on the ground.
Labra sat with her legs crossed, her torso bent over her legs, hugging herself and applying pressure to her ribs. She slipped a hand back through her sleeve and into her cloak-dress, gently prodding her ribs and wincing when she got to a spot on her left side. She sighed and carefully slid her arm back through the sleeve, already shifting her scarf over her head. She laid it on the rock beside her and cupped a hand around her throat, hiding her core from view. She glanced around at the party again, to see if anyone was watching her. She didn't see any eyes on her, so she slowly pushed her hood back. Her long black hair spilled out of the hood and around her, mysteriously floating around her on an unfelt wind, her horns and small pointed ears peeking through the cloud of hair. The Moon Imp slowly took her hand away from her core and let the light it emitted fall around her.
Her core was a small silver orb, about the size of a large acorn. It was constantly shifting with Chaos, and gave off a small silver light. Labra glanced around nervously at the people she had come to know. No, Master Abbot said that I needed to trust them. So, trusting them starts now...Oh Moon Goddess, I hope this is the right thing to do. She touched two fingers to her core and slowly drew them away, small strands of Moon Chaos connecting her core and her fingers. The Moon Imp repeated that action until she had a tiny ball cupped in the palm of her hand. She let out a deep breath and placed it in the folds of cloth covering her legs, burrowing it so the Chaos couldn't escape. She quickly slid her scarf back over her head and rearranged it over her core it protect it more, then gathered her hair and slipped it back into her hood, which she pulled back over her head and fitted it back over her horns. Labra scooped up the ball of Chaos and cupped it in her hands, still mentally deciding if she should do this or not. The Elders never tried it with someone with different Chaos...better to find someone with similar Chaos. Less bad things that way. She nodded to herself and looked around at the party, trying to figure out who had the most similar Chaos to her own. The choices aren't great...Hmmmm who to choose?

TLDR:
- new ranged Bear Trap acquired
- Althea tries to sleep, but the restless aren't making it easy

Those few moments moving down the mine were as close to a nightmare as Althea could think of. The gentle glow of the Healing Orb in her one hand illuminated just her face and the extremities of those chasing after them. Every so often someone would fire off some sort of chaos that shone the faces of those chasing them, but only for a flash, as though the cave was in a thunderstorm. Althea bumped into Lilirel as the group behind her turned into another cave and the entrance collapsed, leaving them some peace and a place to rest. While everyone took watch or rested, Althea stood there a moment longer to listen to the countless undead just behind the rubble.

Sticking the other Healing Orb into her bag, Althea busied herself by pulling out a length of rope and tying it to the end of one of her bear traps. A quick lasso swing proved that she had tied it on correctly, but with the weight of the chain gone her aim was horribly off. Althea placed it into the other traps place regardless, and focused on getting some shut eye. However, the faces of those that had passed haunted her, some taking the shape of those she couldn't save in the past. It was going to be a long rest indeed...

The Left Path
The party's hard fought reprieve would continue. A few more minutes by and the undead had yet to breach the collapse or find a way around. Left with a dust filled air, the smell of corpses, and the moan and clatter of muffled undead through stone walls, the party would have a restless break to catch their breath and plan.

The Prescient focused would note the types of enemies they were facing and pick up on the subtle disturbance in the air. It was like there was a chaos storm taking place in the mine. Not an impossible occurrence, but seemingly rare from past accounts. In either case, it would seem there was a likely a source spawning these skeletal soldiers. Finding and eliminating it would be their best bet to resolve the matter. The skeletons obviously flowed from their source, so the hard part would be working out a way to get through the untold numbers without exhausting themselves or bringing down the mine on top of themselves.

With a single, unoccupied path before the party, they could easily keep watch for dangers while knowing the path they would need to take when they were done resting.

The Chasm Depths
Zayne would find no rest. Alone in the darkness, he would continuously use his flames to hopefully let him see the enemy before they saw him. Getting deeper into the natural cave, the lone apostle would be no longer have to fear about raining undead, but other creatures lurked in the cave as the original inhabitants. While undead, partially broken or severed, would occasionally crawl out of the darkness to try and claw at him, he was also attacked by creatures disguised as stalactites falling from the ceiling or gelatinous cubes that didn't have a discernible appearance until they started moving. Eventually, Zayne would hit a larger cavern that would cause his tunnel to fork into a what seemed like many different directions. He will soon be surrounded by undead and/or other creatures hungry for Apostle flesh.

TLDR:
  • Lilirel follows everyone to the left tunnel.
  • She puts the foreman down.
  • She gives Labra her wand back.
  • She stands guard while the others rest.

YY53pcY.png

A lot had happened quickly. Thankfully Lilirel had managed to follow the rest of the group into the left tunnel, it's entrance soon crumbling to the ground loudly. Before she could place the foreman on the ground, she heard the small squeak of pain, taking a moment to realize that it had come from the imp that had fallen off her shoulder. She watched the small critter scurry along, the aasimar's brow raised. Shrugging to herself with a small shake of her head she took note of the item left behind by Labra. Picking up the tiny thing she looked at it and slipped it into a pocket, she'd return it in a moment.

Placing the foreman on the ground against a wall she dropped down before him. His helmet next to him, the light pointed down the tunnel. Taking hold of the dwarf's chin she turned his face towards her. Out cold still. She tutted lowly. He knew the mines, perhaps if they managed to wake him up, he could lead them through the tunnels. Instead of wandering around blindly hoping to figure out where to go. As far as Lilirel was concerned, the moment they flew over that chasm they were stuck. Now they definitely had no way to turn back. With a heavy sigh the raven-haired woman stood up and looked around at the other apostles. They had expended a lot of energy; a decent rest was required. For the time being Lilirel felt okay. She'd keep watch until someone came to, then perhaps she'd take a small rest herself.

Approaching Labra, Lilirel removed whatever the imp had dropped, before lowering herself to meet the other's gaze. She held the item up in front of her. "You dropped this." She spoke quietly and placed it before the little creature. "Get some rest while you can." Lilirel nodded with a small exhale and nod. Standing up as she cleared her throat, Lily placed herself in front of the party. Arms folded across her chest as she leaned against the wall, her gaze scanning the tunnel ahead. It would be more difficult to fight in these tunnels if they had to. Lily's weapon was useless, she'd never be able to swing her sword in such a confined space. She'd figure something out if she had to fight. For now, she just needed to keep an eye out for her group.

Tl;DR: Ren worries about Diana sleeping and voices the fears to Jeremiah
Jeremiah tried to console her, but Ren shook her head.

"I know what I did, and I did not help, either. Green Mother is sleeping because of me." Ren's gaze lingered on the sleeping form of Diana. "I do not understand why she went so far for me. I know I am..." Ren paused, shuffling through all the words she knew, looking through them as id by pure memorization rather than understanding. "Unworthy."

The word was odd on her tongue, but it was familiar and carried the right weight.

Ren curled up closer to Diana, almost protective. She knew this was her fault for not climbing up faster. And now Zayne was all by himself. This was also her fault.

The guilt settled on her shoulders and it was familiar. She had not been able to save Wolfe, and she was not able to help Diana. She had kept a strain on Diana longer than necessary, and this was the price.

"She is safe, though? She will be okay?" Ren asked, her voice soft and terrified. "This sleep is not permanent?"

TL;DR: Stella lit up a light orb the size of a bonfire to light up the surroundings, and noticed that Zayne was missing. After seeing Jeremiah comfort Ren she decided to do the same.

Stella had been keeping the dome up, until the team had quickly filed into the left tunnel. She could feel herself getting kind of tired, but she kept it up until they were all safe, and when Shurik had collapsed the tunnel she made sure to keep her dome up in a smaller scale around her teammates just in case the rocks would hit them. Once everything settled down she breathed out a long sigh of relief, her legs giving way causing her to fall to her knees. She took a moment before she gently put her hands together, lighting a ball that was similar to the size of a bonfire, and placing it down on the ground to light up the surrounding area. Seeing the light illuminate everyone, she adjusted her position and sat down with her legs crossed, her eyes scanning the team. She had noticed that Diana and Ren had returned from the chasm, but Zayne was nowhere to be found. She had hoped that he would be alright, and she had no choice but to trust him in this situation, hoping that he would come back safe.

She then turned her attention to the group that had just returned from the chasm. It had seemed that Diana had collapsed from exhaustion, and Ren was feeling guilty for it. Stella didn't really know what happened near the chasm side, and seeing Jeremiah try to comfort Ren made her smile. She decided to do the same and stood up, walking over to her slowly and gently. "Don't worry Ren, she will wake soon. You did well." she spoke, reaching out a hand to gently pat the head of the protective Ren that was currently curled around the sleeping Diana. She kept her touch soft, and was ready to pull back if Ren had shown any signs of discomfort.

TL;DR: why would u be too lazy to read this... its like... five?? words long

Diana shifted in her sleep. She was actually quite comfortable despite the rocks and the stifling cold of the room. But even in her slumber, she could sense the discomfort of her fellow comrades.

The red-head, still asleep, instinctively wrapped an arm around little Ren, pulling her close.

"Silly goose," she muttered, before beginning to snore softly again.

Giles is tired, and catches some Zs by the wall

Giles caught eye of the Apostles fleeing into the left tunnel and soon he followed cue. As he followed them, Giles heard something behind him. When he turned to look all he saw were large boulders blocking the way that they came. He breathed a sigh of relief; not only did they escape the skeletons, Giles hadn't found himself crushed under a pile of rocks.

As he walked away from the rubble, Giles stretched and yawned. The whole minecart and skeleton situation had tired him out and the sprint down the tunnel exhausted him even further, he definitely needed some rest.

Giles found a spot for himself against the wall and sat by it, he removed his scabbard and placed it beside him as well as his pack. Slumped against the wall, Giles pulled his hat down his eyes and fell asleep. He rested peacefully, knowing that his fellow Apostles would surely wake him if a problem arose.

TL;DR: Just read it please, I'm too tired to make one right now.

Labra rolled the ball of pure Moon Chaos in her hands a few times, then glanced up as Lilirel crouched down in front of her. The Imp blanched as she realized what the older lady was holding. She grabbed her wand and checked it over, worrying over it like it was her child. A part of her mind was busy assessing the situation, and was tracking the flow of Chaos all around them. It tracked it back to a...hurricane of Chaos. Another part was busy on gathering Chaos and energy levels from the other Party members. They all seemed low on everything. One small part was following the fire-man, as he traveled further away into the chasm, he was surrounded by the Dark Chaos and other slightly different types of less Dark Chaos. Chaos levels spiked in the 'hurricane' of sorts, and Labra looked up quickly, her gaze narrowing in on the mouth of the tunnel in front of them.
She slid off the rock, feeding the ball of Chaos she held into the crystal on her wand. The crystal started to glow a semi-bright silver and traces of Moon Chaos started to circle around it. She scampered over to where the tunnel started and stared hard into the darkness, ignoring the rest of the data feeding into her mind and party members, focusing instead on the large pocket of Dark Chaos emitting from the tunnels. It seemed close, but also far. The Moon's Child tugged on the pant leg of Lilirel and waited until she had her attention before speaking to her. "Get some rest, your Chaos is similar to the Chaos I am trying to track, and it is fairly distracting. Go, and let me track the other Chaos so we have a better chance of not getting lost and shutting down this problem." Her now formal speak was different then her normal speech pattern, but it was just a factor of her mind recognizing that the situation was serious and her childish ways would interfere with their chances of survival. She sat down where she was and closed her eyes, going into a meditation state to gain back some of the energy lost, while keeping an eye on the Chaos levels around her.

With the constant release of flames here and there throughout the dark tunnel, Zayne had continued on his way throughout the tunnel while defending himself against the random threats that made themselves known every so often. Being unable to see fully in front of him, the cave seemed to go on for what felt like no end.
Eventually, once reaching the large open cavern and still finding only pitch darkness aside from the multiple different directions he could head off to, he was also surrounded by more enemies. Drawing his weapon from his hip to hold his sword in front of him for any incoming attacks, he'd slowly progress his way towards the center path while cutting down any enemies that dared to get too close to him.
Whenever the sound of what seemed to be an enemy attempting to attack from behind, he'd light himself ablaze with a large burst of his Chaotic energy just to deflect any incoming attacks as well as to burn the opponent away.

The Left Path
Most of the party rested as best they could. For the moment they would remain unmolested by the things that went bump in the tunnels. While most would gain the benefits of their rest, Stella kept her light up to create an excess of brilliance in the tunnel that was somewhat troublesome to nap in and would not gain back her energy so long as it persisted. Those napping would begin to have troubled dreams tainted by the high levels of chaos in the tunnels. Refreshing themselves at the same time, they would not be able to stray far from their grim duty in their thoughts.

The Chasm Depths
Zayne would be able to continue cleaving a path for himself for the moment. The enemies before him fell to his blade while most of the enemies behind him were consumed in the flames that suddenly erupted from his body. Becoming his own light in the darkness, he now acted as a beacon for all the malevolent forces roaming the darkness around him. One undead soldier managed to slash his back while a stoney monster wounded him with a grazing strike from above as it fell from the ceiling.

Working his way to 'center' of the massive chamber with its many tunnels leading out, it would become increasingly easy to get lost. Not that heading back was any better an option than heading forward at this point. With the myriad of undead and other cave dweller monsters flowing out, it would be a fight going in any direction. For the moment, his health and energy held, but both were waning.

Glancing down towards the moon imp that sought her attention, Lilirel raised both brows as she was told to go rest by the little being. A smile came across her lips as she chuckled, amused by Labra's demanding tone. "Sorry for interfering with your process." Lilirel spoke simply and walked off. Finding a corner, she plopped herself down and closed her eyes. She wouldn't say no to whatever rest she managed to get.

TLDR: Jeremiah goes over to Ren to comfort her.

Jeremiah looked at Diana, to see her move just a little, enough to assuage Ren's fears. "See? She's just tired. Don't worry Ren. All she needs is some rest." Jeremiah gave her a small grin of comfort. With a sigh, he awkwardly pushed himself up, using the wooden beam for support, tottering over to sit by Ren and Diana. He sat down near the pair gingerly, showing his solidarity but not wanting to touch Ren if she didn't want his comfort. "You did your best. We all did our best. We'll get through this together. Don't worry." Jeremiah lied down near the group, setting his bag down, and curling up next to it, his head turned so his head didn't press up on his leather bag. Right now he was exhausted, and putting his head down for a moment felt better, as it was spinning.

Shurik's head lolled in his hands as he sat there against the cave wall. His breath was barely noticeable as the man slept there in his crouched position. Shurik remained motionless for one moment and then the next he twitched all over. The spasms didn't wake him and after a few minutes, they slowed and then stopped completely. Afterward, the large man began to growl audibly in his sleep. With his eyes closed, Shurik was the only one who knew what he snarled towards.

TLDR: Joined the apostles at the rest point

"There have been times, I have peeked behind the mask. I find nothing but myself. I see innocence, curiosity, determination. I am shown only what I want to see. Then the mask is replaced. And I am alone in the shadows."
- Unknown Author

Out of the darkness, a grasping hand clawed at the edge of the cliff-side. An elbow followed, with it the rest of the body as Amira hauled herself over the side. Using only her daggers and a boost of her power creating mutated veins of green flesh, shining dull as crystals had formed against it. Then disappeared behind each step and pull of strong arms. Breathless she stood up, the fabric against her breasts stretched as she inhaled the scent of death. The musk from the dirt on tanned flesh, slightly wet and smeared was wiped off on the purple satin of her attire. Out of the inner pocket Chen had survived. A small spider colorful, a yellow body with marks of blue on his hairy legs. Chen was unlike any spider Amira had seen. His origin is unknown.

Chen had lived for over 20 years. He was a mystery even to Amira. But the two were inseparable, after he was nearly eaten by a crow. "Oh alive are we?" a smile ghosted over dark plump lips, at the slight peek of hairy legs from the pocket. Amira chuckled inwardly; but the carnage of battle drew her attention. Seeing the battle had ceased for the moment. Amira waded through the fallen undead, and checked her inventory. Her load was lighter, almost half her arrows had disappeared into the chasm, a few were saved no less. The bow strapped to her back held no damage, it was of unique design. Created by herself a normal longbow could reach 120 poundage, but hers could easily reach double that when infused with her power. Easily impaling even those that adorn plate. It is more experimental, but had some medium of success in the past.

Absentmindedly Amira plucked at the brightly coloured blue fletchings of the arrow. Delicate hands, checking for damage. She never raised her eyes to acknowledge the undead merely passed them by as one went to strike. But no impact was to be had. The undead had ceased all movement. To the unseen eye. A remnant of her power remained surrounding her body, living particles entered the bodies of the undead, rapidly multiplying inside until the armor, and decaying body had mutated. Jade clusters protruded from the mouth, and eyes. Flesh like veins covering the entirety of the body. A human would have felt excruciating pain, before death. But the undead became statues. A poetic end. Something so grotesque, could become something so beautiful. That was the message in her eyes as the reflection on the arrowhead showed their image.

Unheard footsteps weaved through the resting bodies of the apostles. Amira situated herself at the opposing end, where the group would likely proceed forward; her vision tainted with red. In the darkness she could see better than during the day. A benefit of her origin. She looked out into the darkness, planting her bow into a crack in the rock as she leaned against it, crossing her arms as she did. A watchful gaze over the group. Her eyes stayed open, closing intermittently for brief moments of rest. Any sound of movement awoke her prematurely.

After petting Ren's head and seeing Jeremiah comfort her once more, she went towards her ball of light and put her hands over it, making it die down and completely engulfing the team in darkness. She hadn't realized until now that her light might've been disturbing the others, and decided to keep the light down for a moment, allowing herself and her teammates to rest. She quickly fell into a light sleep with her back leaning against the rock wall, her breathing steady and slow.

Cutting down foes one after another as he continued on his way down the same path before him in hopes to reach at least another tunnel where the ceiling wasn't going to be as high as it was now; if he could achieve that than at least this battle would become more in his favor for his abilities to be able flow throughout the tunnel rather than spread around such a large space.
As expected, he received plenty of wounds that he attempted to heal as quickly as he could with his flames that released from his back everytime when something had attacked from behind.

The more he fought however, the more troublesome it became to keep his energy and own breathing steady as he approached closer to the end of his path towards any of the tunnels before him. 'C'mon body...don't give out on me now...' Cursing mentally at his own lost of blood and energy little by little, the last thing he wanted to do was to consume the entire cavern in flames and risk using up every bit of energy he had lift in one attack even if it could leave him at least safe to regain his stamina.

Tl;DR: Ren offers to stand guard over the others while they sleep and says thanks for the pats

The touch wasn't unwelcome, but most people tended to avoid touching her. She was a little cold to the touch, and that wasn't always pleasant. So when Stella put her hand on Ren's head, the wolf looked up in confusion. Nobody really wanted to do that, but it was... appreciated.

"Rest, please. You all look tired. I am Awake, so I can stand guard." Ren said, carefully sitting up. "I think... monsters will be ahead. So we need to be ready. I can't... I can't do Big Words for you but I can do this. You will be Safe, so be ready for when we go."

"Just say the word when we move."

Ren looked down for a moment, and looked up. "Thank you. I like the..." she screwed up her face trying to remember the words, but failed and soldiered on. "Head... touchy... thing."

TooLongDidn'tRead: The party regrouped. Some were caught and forced to defend the rest of the party while they managed to find the source of the problem in the mine. Meanwhile, Zayne presses on into the dangerous unknown by himself and is still being harassed...

Note From The Author: (Then end of the mine is fast approaching. do your best. Unless no one stays behind, there is a group defending a large tunnel from the undead while another group takes on the 3 women further in.)
Post Listening:

The Rested
The party eventually concluded their rest. Fortunately, Foreman was also roused from his slumber. With lit hard hat back on his head, the dwarf volunteered to continued leading the party. Eventually, their tunnel would reach a ledge overlooking another walkway below them. The ladder that once allowed access to where they stood had been ruined at some point. The party did not wish to descend however. The undeads' green aura wafted from their countless forms below the party. Rather, the party was instructed by the dwarf to keep quiet and follow his lead. A feat that was literally impossible for Sorod and those behind him. Fortunately, the rest of the party was able to slip by with the Foreman without drawing the notice of the skeletal warriors.

While the noisy and less subtle in the party would be discovered and engaged by the undead horde and forced to defend a tunnel entrance, the rest of the Apostles would be able to accompany Foreman to the latest dig areas that may shed some light on the odd occurrences in the mine. With all members healed up and rested, they had the power and hindsight to better confront their enemy this time. However, their enemy was endless, so the best way to approach the situation would depend on them.

Those with Foreman would come out into another central chamber where several torn up mine tracks would lead to five split off paths. Large portions of the floor were partially flooded due to pumps used by the miners no longer running to keep this portion dry. In the center of the chamber was a shimmering white light hanging in space. Around the white light were 3 women of odd dress and foul odor. They chanted an incomprehensible gibberish as a green aura emanated from their macabre scepters. Eyes glazed with a milky film saw without seeing as the three women reacted to the party's approach before they even did anything to give themselves away. Not far off, the rattle of the undead could be heard approaching.

The Weary
More of Zayne's energy was consumed as all of his wounds closed and he was able to reach the farthest tunnel. With his enemies only able to reach him for two sides, ahead and behind, he would feel more secure but no more rested than before. In fact, he was less than half strength. The tunnel before him was dark as everything before it and the naturally warn walls and floor offered no immediate cover or places to hide. Monsters continued to close the distance on him. One massive lizard like create approached from the rear, running along the walls of the narrow passage as well as if it were on the ground. Ahead of him, the passage did not illuminate as well as it had before when he approached while wreathed in his flames.

TLDR: Continued on to the central chamber. Engaged and briefly flirted with the women.

Dry eyes blinked rapidly in the dark at the shuffle of light feet. With a glance over her shoulder Amira acknowledged the foreman awakening. She raised a curt brow at the dwarfs continued service to the group. But said nothing and merely followed behind. After tugging the end of the bow tree from the crack in the floor and letting it hang loosing in one hand. She paid no mind to the sound of the undead, as she herself made little sound. A well practiced technique of rolling ones foot to reduce the noise of even heavy boots. At the dwarfs instruction to remain silent, Amira pressed herself to the side of the wall and did not care to look back as Sorod was swarm at the tunnel entrance. A morbidly delightful sound entered Amira's ears. The chanting sent a shiver run down her spine, not out of fear but excitement. If she were alone, Amira would have done a shuffle into the central chamber enjoying the chanting. But the light momentarily forced a frown on sensitive eyes adjusting to the light.

When her eyes readjusted she became aware they had already been discovered. "I feel like I should be apologizing." Amira straightened up and stepped further into the chamber. "Even in the dark women just can't resist me. I'm a womanizer...what can I say." she stabbed the ground with the bow once again and removed her cloak and quiver momentarily. She folded the coat and handed it to the dwarf to hold "Try not to put your hand inside. Chen doesn't like dwarves" she shot over her shoulder as a slight movement was seen from the cloth. She returned her attention to the women in front. "Don't worry I'll be gentle." The bow was reclaimed in expert hands. As she began to fill the air with microorganisms, a light flicker of green seen from them as they surrounded the area and mutated the bow in her hands.
