MUCH NEEDED TLDR:
  • Lilirel moves up towards the central tunnel.
  • She looks around and calls out to push for movement from the party.
  • She's always ready to attack.
  • She decides to start absorbing the evil from the skeletons to power herself and prepare for a big 'Blood Vines' attack.
  • Lilirel is relieved to hear Shurik call out for everyone to filter into the left tunnel.
  • She assesses the situation and takes a guess as to where all the other apostles stand in their current levels of exhaustion. Her decision lands on lugging the foreman and his helmet, while also offering a helping hand to Labra and Althea so they can get to the left tunnel.
  • Lilirel is also keeping an eye on Stella and her level of exhaustion.

It seemed that Shurik decided his attention wasn't needed towards the central tunnel. Lilirel watched him charge forward in the same direction Sorod intended to move in. Making her way up towards the middle tunnel Lily caught movement out of the corner of her eye. Taking note of Giles and Payne she managed to catch the right tunnel fill with sand that buffeted the skeletons. The central tunnel was the only one with a weaker front line. Catching Jerimiah trying his best to keep the undead at bay, she couldn't help but notice that he was using his ability to take control of the enemy. Smart, although probably draining. Glancing towards Knell, Lilirel clenched her jaw. Moving up towards the center tunnel she stood close to the merman and gripped her sword tightly.

Stella's light dome was helpful in keeping the horde at bay, but she knew it wouldn't last forever. They had to find the source of this horde and put an end to it or else they would all die in these mines having wasted their time fending them off instead of putting an end to it. The left and right tunnels were clear for the time being, but if the fighting party members moved on, whoever remained in this entryway would surely perish.

Lilirel's vision was littered with the purple glowing specks of the evil energy imbued within these corpses, she only wished she could see further down the tunnels, to perhaps find a source to all this and make their lives easier. "We can't stand and fight out here all-day folks!" She called out, armed and ready to swing if necessary. "A decision needs to be made soon or we might as well jump off the cliff!" Her gaze turned to the left tunnel. Sorod could only keep them at bay for so long, Stella's power was surely waning. Gritting her teeth, she quickly looked around once again. The never-ending horde would just keep pouring in.

Looking down at herself she watched the occasional darkness flow through her veins. One more glance around and Lilirel began to summon the evil chaos that lived within the ever-growing horde of undead. Taking it upon herself, her veins began to flow with a more consistent stream of darkness. "Pick a damn tunnel…" She growled with a grunt as her breathing grew heavy. Knuckles turning white as she held onto the hilt of her sword tight enough to make steel groan. More darkness consuming her eyes. She would have to halt the energy intake soon. Too much in such a confined space wasn't safe, she needed just enough to cast what was required to clear more of the horde. She had to ignore the excitement and focus on a single, effective 'Blood Vines' attacks.

Her right palm came up to slice across the bottom part of her blade as she bared her teeth. Flicking the blood to the side she did the same for her left. The crimson slowly seeping into the stone. The grip on her blade tightened once again, the blood running down the hilt dripping and flowing into the ground beneath her. Her senses were wide open as she looked around to decide on her attack.

Words of relief rang through the enclosed space, someone finally making a decision. Clenching her jaw Lilirel held onto her position firmly. Her attention not faltering from the center tunnel. Watching a round of bolts come flying towards the horde, she glanced over her shoulder towards Shurik. Turning to look to the right Lily noted that Giles and Payne and Knell were capable of pulling back on their own. Shurik stood by Diana, Althea had been close to Labra and the foreman, but she wouldn't be able to help the two move if they were exhausted, then there was Stella who was maintaining the dome. Growling in annoyance Lilirel sheathed her blade and turned to run towards Labra, Althea and the foreman.

Tossing the foreman over her shoulder, she took hold of the dwarf's helmet for those that couldn't see in the dark, and hurried the two smallest member of the party. "We have to get into the left tunnel. Come on, lets go." she urged them to move along. "If you can't get there yourselves come." Lilirel outstretched her arm to allow for either of them to climb onto her if they needed. Her attention occasionally shifting to Stella, as she was the only other party member closest to her that seemed to possibly be fatigued.

TL;DR: Payne realizes that the central tunnel will soon be undefended, and decides to pull back to the left tunnel.

Upon hearing the admonition of Shurik (distant as it was), and catching sight of Lilirel preparing to leave the central tunnel, Payne decided to follow as well.

No sense staying behind to die.

Payne began to work his way towards those who remained near the central tunnel. He would travel with them, if possible.

TL;DR: Labra let go of the spell she cast on the foreman, was watching people fight bones, accepted Lilirel's offer, felt pain in her core because she had been awake longer then she usually is, and now feels major discomfort and uneasiness.
The small Imp idly watched the battle as she felt her energy waning until finally, she couldn't bare it and let the spell go. She watched Shurik fire something into the crowd of skeletons, Labra glanced up as Lilirel ran up and extended an arm to her. The Imp looked at the foreman one last time, then accepted the woman's hand, using it to climb onto her back, using her arms to hang onto the back of the older's neck. She grabbed a hold of her shirt and used it for balance while she reached a sleeve-covered hand out. Her wand came flying up and she grabbed it out of the air before it could hit Lilirel. Labra looked around her small hiding spot, then turned and layed her head down on Lilirel's neck. A small yawn came out of the small girl as she realized she had been awake for almost a whole day. Exhaustion had been creeping into the edges of her vision, but the Moon Imp had stubbornly held it off, as she would feel guilty falling asleep while her friends fought.
She dug into her bag and pulled out an herb that would help keep her awake called No Sleep. Super creative name, who named this herb? she thought as she stuffed it in her mouth and wrinkled her nose at the bitter taste. Lilirel picked the foreman up and swung him over her shoulder. Labra looked for Althea, but couldn't see her from the spot she was in. She sighed again and yawned once more before shaking her head to wake herself back up. Oh, moon fungus. How much longer is this going to take? I'm seriously about to run out of energy again. A small pain went through her core and she winced, rubbing her throat under her scarf. Ow...That hurt. Wait, Aunt Mari said that if your core hurts, you're seriously low on energy and/or Chaos. I haven't used a lot of Chaos, but I have used a lot of energy... She rubbed her core again before curling around Lilirel's neck, her stomach on the back of Lilirel's neck, loosely hanging on to let her have full range in her neck's motion. A shudder passed through her body and she squeaked before clamping her mouth shut and not letting out another sound. The small girl closed her eyes tightly until the shudders passed, then opened her eyes and watched the battle with feelings of discomfort and uneasiness circling in her mind.

> Slid down to the bottom of the Chasm via stem of the plant.
> Tells Llawr that he will explore the Chasm.
> Ignites both his palms with flames though making sure to control the heat from them not to burn anything while waiting for Ren.
_____________________________________

With the response that he had gotten from Ren after Zayne had questioned both her and Llawr on their decision whether or not to proceed back upwards or descend further into the abyss of the chasm; it had appeared as though she had also made her own deicison to head downwards before forming what appeared to be a rather large ice spike protruding from the rockface just for her to stand upon. Listening to her own fact that solving the problem here for the Mayor than it also benefiting everyone, the male only nodded his head before gripping a hold of the stem of the plant just to begin descending fully downwards to the very bottom of the chasm after the Apostle who sent the plant down the rockface grew it's length further.

After landing onto the rocky flooring below, he only directed his gaze back up the rockface after hearing the Apostles telling them to make the decision whether they were going to go up or down. "Llawr! I'm going to explore down here for a while...and see if there is another way out from down here! If things get too dangerous, I'll see about forcing my way out to you guys...if not, well...I guess, it's been fun." Although it wasn't like him to speak in such a way, Zayne jokingly informed the only other Apostle that he found as close as a friend compared to the others.

Taking a glimpse at his surroundings only to find complete darkness after informing Llawr that he would venture through the Chasm; soon enough, he'd ignite both his palms brightly with flames just to gain a much better view at his surroundings while making sure the flames did not produce too much heat that it would burn anyway any plants that might've been growing down there.
Making sure to await for Ren to also descend before advancing in any direction, the distant sound of battle above was almost inaudible from where he was.

TLDR: diana the bananna replies to shurik, has a crisis while becoming more and more tired, chills and continues

Diana turned to Shurik, most of her concentration still on the flower's stem. Her breathing was labored and raspy due to her odd sickness and the amount of rapid panting she was performing. Still, she smiled when he told the group down on the cliffside to hurry. The ginger wasn't sure how long it would take before her Chaos ran out, and she did not want to find out.

"I'll try my best!" she replied, her voice hoarse and quiet. It wasn't a promising promise. If she hadn't collapsed in exhaustion by the time the cliff-side situation was resolved, she'd try her best to crawl towards the left tunnel. The red-head wasn't even sure if Shurik would hear her over the din of battle. It probably didn't matter; her only use in battle at the moment would be a distraction or a human shield.

Each surge of power she sent into the stem to grow it or knit it back together felt like it tugged out her gut. She had Chaos still, but it was weak. So weak. Why did she have to be so weak? She heard the battle cries of her comrades as they slew their enemies with ease, their magic fueling them in their path to victory. All while she sat, alone, growing a flower. She was so goddamn useless.

Diana shook her head violently as if dispelling the thought. It was disgusting and selfish of her to get weighed down by her own fabricated tragedies than focus on the needs of her friends. Brushing her hair behind her ear with her free hand, she continued pulsing power into the vine.

The Battle
Althea and Labra's efforts to sustain the Foreman paid off. While he did not wake up, he was stable and would likely wake on his own in time. However, he would remain vulnerable, so Lilirel carrying him would spare him some of the dangers that would potentially befall him if left behind. The miner's helm would also prove to be a useful extra light source should one be needed.

Unfortunately, not all of Althea's plans went off without a hitch. The skeletonal warrior were not so easily tangled by tactics better suited to the brainless. While the wee healer successfully tripped and dispatched one of the skeletons with a stake through its core, which dusted it, two more merely leered and took their time in ganging up on Althea with a sadistic malice apparent. One of which swung a gnarly blade that would inflict a minor injury to Althea. With less than half of her energy left and not confronted by a slowly growing number of baddies, she may wish to seek aid quickly...

Shurik, who was near Althea for a time, was able to successfully move by Diana and the ledge and provide ranged support to the front, destroying one of the skeleton warriors coming from the central tunnel with a well placed bolt. However, ranged combat in the tighter spaces of the mine posed many risks to allies. This brief move to the rear would also let him catch his breath for a moment, something Diana could use more of.

Diana's flower successfully rooted into the ledge where she stood, piercing the rock and giving Llawr something more sturdy to swing from. The plant specialist was not actually that bad off, however, if she attempted to grow her flower out to the chasm floor (however far that might be...), should would likely collapse and be about as useful as Foreman for a time. It seemed as though Diana would soon need to make a choice as to whether or not to leave the cliff hangers to the outcomes of their own choosing.

Jeremiah was similarly weary. For a multitude of reasons, some obvious and other less so, the siren's voice did not bring anymore skeletons under his control. Perhaps a 2nd try would work, however, the first as well as maintaining his hold on the first skeleton he charmed has drained him. With only a fifth of his energy remaining, and that small amount quickly waning in keep hold of the one skeleton, he would need to think of alternatives. However, for the moment, the one skeleton did proceed to follow his orders and turn on its kind. With deft sword strokes that the other skeletons didn't acknowledge, he was able to put up an effective fight.

However, the enemy still approached and in numbers the party was quickly having increasing difficulties in managing. While the light barrier cast by Stella still remained, enemies were still slowly making their way through. While the likes of Payne, were nearly impervious to the weakened skeletons hexed by Knell, the other party members left in the center were not so formidable. A few more skeletal warriors broke through the barrier near Stella, Jeremiah, and Knell with several more on the way, given enough time. Smelling like the corpses they were and chattering away as bone hit bone and metal, the undead force was a haunting, unending melody. Like death, they seemed inevitable.

The Rock Face

About 50 feet down from the platform where the party fought, those precariously suspended over a black abyss were repeatedly told to hurry up. Zayne's attempts to descend would have to be without the aid of the flower grown by Diana. It reached them, but it was far from reaching the bottom. The feeling of the air and limited vision into the blackness that floated beneath them like a fog gave off the impression the bottom, if it existed, was a long way off. Zayne would also note that climbing down by repeatedly smashing his hand into the stone to anchor himself may prove unreliable and hurt his hand.

Llawr would note the increased sturdiness of the vine he clung to. Before it was held only by Diana's strength, but now that it was anchored into the rock ledge, he felt more secure and that perhaps the vine could accommodate more than one climber at a time if there was a need.

Tl;DR: Ren looks down at chasm and gets the feeling they won't reach end, so climbs back up
Ren stared into the abyss below them, and reconsidered. It was wide and deep and Ren couldn't see the end of it. And the longer she saw the vine, the more she noted how much it must cost Diana to keep the vine down there. She was being a Bad by staying down and ignoring Diana's offer to help.

"Blue. It's too deep," Ren said and grabbed the vine. "We need to get up to the group. Diana is tired. Ice won't last that long."

She could feel the drain of her own energy in her chest, feeling the cold draw far away from her. She knew that using the spikes could work but only for so long, and without seeing an end to the chasm... there was no point in climbing down further this way.

"Kitty, we need to get going back up."

Ren then started to climb back up the vine, trying to move quick enough to not increase the strain on Diana any longer than necessary. She moved hand over hand, easily bracing herself against the wall to help her climb faster. The feeling that Llawr gave off helped her climb as well.

"Almost up, Green Mother. Hold on a little longer!"

> Tells Ren to go back up and thank those who helped with the plant.
> Lets go of the stem and descends fully into the chasm.
> Changes his arms into flaming wings just to slow his descent.
_____________________________________

After climbing down towards the end of the stem of the plant that Diana had extended downwards only to find that from there it still did not seem to reach the bottom of the pitch black chasm, the male simply let a deep sigh leave his lips while his gaze stayed focused on the bottomless abyss of the chasm below. He was already well down the chasm and the climb back up was clearly going to take quite a bit of energy, the last thing he wanted to do at this point was to strain the woman who continued to send further energy downwards through the plant to keep it sturdy against the rockface.

Soon enough, as Ren called out to him about the chasm being far too deep and to return to the ledge where the others were; Zayne only brought his attention up towards her before giving a slight nod of his head. "Go ahead up...I am going to head down all the way, send my thanks to those who helped out with the plant here."

With that, Zayne took in a deep breath before exhaling it back out and finally releasing his grip from the plant and launching himself away from the rockface just so that he wouldn't slam into it on his continued descent. As the rush of air brushed passed his face only for him to pick up further speed the further down he went; he closed his eyes just to focus his own chaos energy through his body and eventually into his arms just to morph only his arms alone into large flaming wings that extended to either side before flapping and slowing his descent until he could finally make it to the bottom of the chasm.

Although he was well aware that this was going to drain him of a good portion of his energy, he could slowly regain it overtime after landing and walking without the use of too much more chaos energy when he was at the bottom.

TL;DR: Stella noticed how split up the team was, and had another idea to block off the paths. She called out to Shurik and asked for him to destroy the top of the rock mine paths, so that the rocks would block off the middle and right. She also called out to Payne, Jeremiah and Knell for cover.

Stella had been glancing around, keeping the dome up while she did. Unfortunately, the team seemed very split up and there was still people down over at the chasm side. She looked over at Sorod and thought of something that might help, although it was a risky plan. She knew it might not succeed, but it was a much more plausible plan than keeping this barrier up.

Hearing the undead closing in and feeling her energy begin to drain, she immediately shouted once again, to one of the stronger fighters that were nearby, Shurik, hoping that he could help with what she had planned to do.

"SHURIK! I need you to block the middle and right path! Destroy the top and let the rocks crumble! That will buy us more time!!" She could feel her throat become sore with all the shouting, and she took a breath before she continued. "Payne! Jeremiah! Knell! Cover me and I will protect you with a smaller dome when the stones crash!!" She hoped with all her heart that they would follow what she had in mind, and that if and when Shurik succeeds with the plan, the rocks from the middle and right paths would block off the undead, giving them another increase of time for them to escape to the left.

TLDR:
- bear trap and chain left behind
- remaining Healing Orbs retrieved
- proceeds to follow everyone down the left path

As Althea's stake pierced the skeleton's core and stopped it from moving, the skeletons behind her rushed in and slashed her shoulder with an ancient and wicked looking blade. She instinctively threw the hammer she was using at the skeleton that hit her, but she was hit with a realization: with everyone leaving and the horde coming closer, she needed to move now or not at all. With a heavy sigh, she dropped the chain with one of her three beloved bear traps and left them behind, running towards the rest of the group.

After pocketing the tent stakes she hadn't used yet, Althea quickly grabbed the remaining two healing orbs and ran alongside Lilirel and into the left-most cavern. Finding a pocket to carry one of them, she used her other hand to wield another bear trap and ward off the enclosing horde.

"Thank you for the aid, Lillrel, but they're going to have to do more than that to get me down."

She tried to sound encouraging, but her doubts were haunting her mind. What if the tunnel is a dead end? What happens when Sorod can't fight anymore? Will we be able to escape if the tunnels collapse? She clanked the bear trap a few times to get her head back into the game; she couldn't afford to choke now that everyone was weary from battle.

"
I can heal those that need it!" she called to the front of the line. "Who requires the most aid?"

TL;DR

  • Shurik realizes they might be cut off soon and decides to move on without waiting any longer.
  • He calls down one last time to those in the tunnel to hurry up
  • Then he picks up Diana before firing his cannon at the central tunnel supports
  • Shurik makes a run for the left tunnel, Diana and his sword in tow as the round connects with the target and explodes.

Shurik Plate 500.png

Shurik kept a close watch on Diana. He could see that she was struggling currently to keep the stem together for those in the chasm to climb up. He couldn't tell how much longer she had, but the exhaustion was there on her face. It was time to go. There was no other choice at this point. Most everyone had retreated towards the left tunnel and the horde kept coming. At some point, they would be cut off from everyone else and he'd hate to see where they had to go after that.

He decided to make the call.

Shurik stood up and began walking towards Diana. As he walked, he heard Stella scream his name and then call out for him to destroy the entrances to both of the tunnels. Shurik's jaw dropped. His left eyebrow raised and he stared for a moment in her direction before letting out a small "heh." Shurik looked at the tunnels. Currently, the right one was flooded with sand and the other had no damage. He took a breath and shouted back "I can only do one. I don't have two shots in this thing and I can't get to the right one quick enough."

Shurik knelt right next to Diana and shouted down the chasm. He could see someone moving up but shook his head. "I don't know how long this thing will hold, but we have to move out NOW. Get your asses up here in a hurry!" Shurik then looked at Diana. "Sorry, we have to go. And I need you to hold on." Shurik stood, stooped down, grabbed Diana around the waist with his regular arm and hoisted her onto his shoulder in a way that she could easily move to a piggyback position.

Shurik then flicked his wrist. The hand and a quarter of the forearm came down to reveal a hole and Shurik took aim with his arm at the central passage's supports. He aimed for where the top and left support should meet in the hope that the force would cause a collapse. He braced himself steadied his breath and then called out "ZHARR!" The sound of whirring could be heard right before the thunderous clap of the spell being fired echoed through the tunnels. A ball of unstable chaos, slightly larger than the cannon mouth fired from his arm and looked to be right on target. Shurik knew the spell should explode on impact and while he knew it should at least damage the rock, supports, and some of the skeletons, he didn't know if it would be enough to collapse the tunnel.

Shurik's hand and forearm clamped back into position once the spell was fired at its intended target and Shurik quickly picked up his sword and started dashing towards the left tunnel, just as the round would hit and explode.

TLDR: diana gets picked up, then a crisis

Diana couldn't go any longer. Her head ached from her cold and her gut twisted from her constant pulse of Chaos. Despite the intensity of the battle behind her, she couldn't help but let her eyes droop in sleepiness. Using Chaos tended to do that to her, and whatever pathetic cold she managed to catch didn't help. The plant seemed to wither as she did, slowly losing its strength. It had no water to fill it, only Diana's magic. It would be able to continue holding up those below for only a few more minutes at most.

The redhead's mind was numb. She only had one or two thoughts of rescuing her friends and concentrating on pulsing Chaos that she barely even heard Shurik yelling at the asses of her rescuees. Then, she became the rescuee. Somewhere in her dim mind, she noticed that the man was speaking to her. Diana managed a nod before Shurik suddenly lifted her up and hoisted her up onto his back. She scrambled into a piggyback fashion; her arms held on for dear life (in as much caution as she could manage to not choke him) and her legs wrapped around his torso in order to not fly off him as he ran. Her eyes remained wide in surprise in comparison to the half-asleep eyes she had just been carrying. She had no idea how grave the battle had become while she had been so wrapped up in her rescue mission. Plus, she was several feet taller than regular. Oh, and those dead things. The ginger looked at one. It reeked of death. Diana felt sick (even more than usual).

Diana buried her face into Shurik's shoulder, clutching onto him even tighter.

You're so useless, that voice rang in her head again. You might as well just die.

The ginger tried to push the thought away. She wasn't useless. Her flower could help those people up. Much slower than the others could, probably. She threw that tree earlier. It accomplished practically nothing. What about all the other things she had done? The other missions, helping the children, surviving? Pathetic. That comeback didn't even make sense!

She could feel the dead things around her. She felt like one of her plants left unattended. Shriveled. Useless.

She fell asleep.

The Left Path
With all party members save for those staying behind deciding to take the left tunnel, the party pushed hard as a group. To cover their retreat, barriers and buffs continued to be used while the central tunnel was exploded in a chaotic spectacle that threatened the entire party. Time was of the essence and they could no longer stay put. Even with the crumbling central pathway seemingly made impassible, the right tunnel had the familiar menacing auras of several undead quickly approaching.

Not allowing Sorod to hold them up, the party did what they had to do and pressed on. Cleaving a blood path forward into the left tunnel, lit only by the foreman's helm and what light was released by party abilities, the Apostles struggled forward. The enemies seemed endless and their energy was waning with a couple in the party unable to fight at all. Then an opportunity presented itself.

An obviously partially caved in portion of the tunnel branched off from the one the undead were using to approach. The more Prescient in the party would know that with proper force guided by them in some way, they could cave the entrance to the tunnel after the party was safely on the other side. They needed a rest and this seemed like the best solution at the moment. The risks were many.

Working together, the tunnel collapsed with little effort, but the Apostles responsible for bringing it down were not so lucky. A couple more Apostles ended their walk down 'The Way' there under tons of rubble. With there way back cut off and an unknown but momentarily clear way forward, the party had time to take a breather and regroup. Depending on how long they wished to wait around, Foreman may wake up and be able to guide them again. Stella and Shurik would be grateful for a rest more than anyone. Althea was slowly recovering her strength as well.

Alone, Zayne plunged into dark depths. As he fell, a few skeletal warriors fell around him. Fortunately, he was able to dodge their kamikaze attacks, but there would be more. Finally reaching the bottom of the chasm, his flames revealed a naturally split in the earth littered with corpses. How many of them were genuinely dead and how many could yet rise was not clear. What's more, in this natural portion of the cave, the monsters would be more numerous and potentially dangerous even if not as sinister.

The split went in 2 directions from where he stood. There was a brief path leading up and a much longer path disappearing further into darkness. He was a few hundred feet down from where he was. There was no light to be seen above him. The raw veins of minerals and metals sparkled faintly in the dull light. The air was filled with rotting and gaseous orders. There was little to hear other than the occasional clatter of rock, corpse, or undead.

  • Shurik sets Diana down gently and takes a breather.
  • He asks the Party of their next move.

Shurik Plate 500.png

With the safely of the tunnel sealed behind them, Shurik could not catch his breath soon enough. He slumped shoulder first into the wall, slid down to his knees, and set Diana down in a sitting position before slumping over himself and chuckling. "Oh boy, do I regret my words from when I came in here. This is not as fun as I thought it was going to be." He paid no attention to the dead. He couldn't even recall the names of those who just fell or even having been introduced to them at all. The Path was littered with the dead and a few more didn't disturb the scenery.

Shurik rested himself against the cold stone. He took in long breaths and leaned forward, bracing his upper half on his legs with his forearms on his knees. He chuckled again and set his head against his palms, let his eyes slip closed, and took in the moment they had away from the unyielding horde which had been stopped from pursuit by feet of fallen rocks. Shurik opened one eye and turned his head, making sure the flower grower hadn't fallen over before sighing and looking to the party. "So. Anyone have a plan from here?"

TooLongDidn'tRead: Sorod me boy defends! And falls back with the party! But he kinda looking down about Valencia and Zayne.

With eyeless sight flickering under the dancing shadows from Foreman's light, as well as the decaying remains of chais disappearing in the air, Sorod hummed a heavy thrum. The events within the battle all happened too fast, but Sorod did not falter! Amidst the sea of bones and ghastly energies, his mighty shield is raised in defiance against the surging hordes. When he barreled through the crowds of enemies, grinding them into spectral dust tainted with whatever force that made these undead entities walk and strike, it was a momentous onslaught! The immense size brought by his power allowed him to reduce the party's foe's, but even then, the surging hordes continued nonstop! His neckless helm swiveled to the back, peering at the attempts of his comrades at fighting off the enemy!

When he could, he swung the near 25 foot long spear with great effort, barely having any room to attack. Fortunately, his focus currently is to defend, which he is accomplishing with much skill and strength! One thing led to another, an explosion or two made him turn back to the party every once in a while, but his attention is maximized on defending and blocking! When they started to funnel into the left cave, that's when he knew he had to expend even more effort to not let them get injured! He went into a squatting position to increase his center of gravity, and held against the waves like an immovable boulder in a churning river! He counted each one, and noted the missing members, making him shudder in place. Stoneface and Zayne, though he isn't overly familiar with them, they are still fellow Apostles!

Seeing the rest of his companions disappear into the darkness though, he tossed away such sentiments and shrunk down, turning off [Through Thick and Thin]. The crimson and yellow themes disappeared, leaving behind the gray and dull Sorod that still lightly glowed with sanguine sparks. In silence, he'll retreat into the cave when he noticed his companions disappearing deeper, taking advantage of his big steps to fall back and leave behind the horde. Once he finds them, in silence, he'll rumble and bow his head, lamenting the missing visages of two companions. From his chest, the ghostly screams are now reduced to moans, satisfied by the destruction and "death" he wrought upon the undying enemies.

> Sends a wave of flames upwards just to destroy the falling skeletons while still dodging out of the way.
> Heads down the darker path. Sends small orbs of fire around to light up the way and around him.
> Curious why there are so many dead bodies in the chasm and wondering if they are all miners.

From his descent, the feeling of solid ground finally touching his feet was a bit of a relief to know that the chasm actually did have a bottom. After finally landing, the sounds of growls and strange shouts echoing from above him had Zayne bring his gaze upwards only to find skeletons falling towards him with weapons in hand. "What the--?!" Taking large steps from one side to the next to avoid being struck by the falling enemies, as more came down; he'd exhale a deep sigh just to begin gathering his chaos energy into the palm of his right hand till a large ball of flame the size of a beach ball formed before he swiped his entire hand across the air above him causing the fire to blast forward into a wave-like blast to disintegrate those above him.

Eventually, taking notice of the other corpses that littered the ground beneath him and taking in a strange feeling in his gut that something bad was going to happen, he exhaled a deep sigh with small flames leaving his lips as he sighed. Immediately, he wasted no further time and headed straight into the much darker path before him, all the while paying close attention to his surroundings as well as taking careful steps in case he were to be ambushed at any point.
From time to time, he fired small orbs of flames in different directions that were brightly lit just to illuminate his surroundings whenever the orb of flame made contact with a solid object to attach itself and light up that particular area for several minutes before eventually fading away.

"This isn't right...Why are there so many corpses around here? These can't all be miners..can they?" Questioning himself as he continued to progress through the dark path before him, keeping himself warm by lighting his palms brighter than they already were.

Tl;DR: Ren barely slides into the tunnel and gets a cut on her head, and then feels guilty for not helping
Ren was barely above the cliff when she saw what the others were trying to do. She sprinted for the main body of the group and slid in under the rubble, receiving a small cut to her head, causing her bangs to turn slightly red from the blood she lost. However, the cut had already mostly stopped by the time she sat down in the cavern.

She sat down and pulled her bacon from earlier out of her bag. She nibbled at the meat almost thoughtfully.

"I do not make plans. I am..." Ren shook her head as if hoping the words would tumble out. "I cannot do Words. I'm sorry."

That really wasn't her fault. She didn't really need words when she was with Wolfe. She had a few already, but they weren't necessary.

"... I am a Bad. I did not come to help. I just... I stayed on the rock with Blue. I am sorry."

She was trying, at least. Maybe the chasm had something down there, maybe it didn't. Either way, she caused Diana to get tired and work hard to save them. She wasn't helping, she was just standing down near a dark deep valley.

TLDR: Jeremiah leaves his charmed soldier to cover their backs as his strength starts to leave him.

IT only took a minute for things to turn from bad to worse for Jeremiah. His head had been clear, his moves fluid and dexterous- until the pain came rushing back- Llwar's aura failing him. Suddenly, it took all of his effort to dodge the attacks, by skeletons, not even bothering to attack the skeletons anymore. His strength had left him at that moment, messing with his charm and causing the charm he was about to exude fail.

He turned his head to see the party going down the tunnel, leaving him behind. Shit, he had to join them- before he was left in here with the skeletons, and they would rip him to shreds. It took all of his effort to avoid the skeletons, sliding past Sorod before the cave crashed down behind them, blocking off the path they had came from. The connection with the skeleton shattered as soon as the rocks crushed it out of existence, leaving a portion of his power left. Hopefully they would have time to rest or something.

Jeremiah approached Althea, the side of his face looking more than worse for wear the closer he got to her. "Uhm...I need some help please." Sure, he wasn't the most hurt, but hopefully she would notice him and help him before he joined Diana in the land of the unconscious. If she couldn't help him, he could rip off a piece of cloth from his shirt to press up against the wound.

"Ren, you did the best you could. You didn't abandon Diana, and that's what matters." Jeremiah said before sliding to the floor, leaning the best he could up against a beam supporting the roof of the cave.

TL;DR: Knell is panicking and nearly dies but then once they're safe she contemplates a little. But is still scared. Man this isn't good.

For Knell, the fighting had become a blur and she had no idea what she was doing after a while. Attacking with her hexes? Yes. Also trying to drain? Yes. She had been a bit cut up from the excursion but even then she had no idea and the pain had not entered her mind. Not when the adrenaline was kicking in, not when she was panicking internally. Why were there so many? Why was the mines this overrun? Something evil was afoot and she wanted to get to the bottom of this but first everyone had to survive. God she had to make sure everyone would be alright.

Next thing she knew, they were heading into the left tunnel, deeper, deeper, deeper...and then making it collapse for a respite. She let out a sigh of relief, wincing as she shuddered at how close she was to having it collapse onto her. Her mind was unable to think and she was that scared. "...Everyone alright?" she wheezed as she glanced around, feeling dread and fear, "What is going on? What evil magic did this person do? This Chaos...this isn't right. What in the world happened?" She let out a shuddering breath while her mind kept going back to her fear. "...Anyone wounded? Ergh, I need to drain another one of those things that were attacking us...I haven't..." She looked at her hands as she grimaced and swore. Now what were they going to do...?

Diana opened one eye slowly, followed by the other several seconds later.

What was going on? How did she get here? It was cold. Very cold. The beads of sweat that had formed on her forehead suddenly felt like snowflakes that refused to melt on her skin. It was refreshing. Wait, no. Was she dying? Is this it? The end? In reality, it wasn't; unbeknownst to her, Diana was just in a cold place.

She sneezed, instilling more panic in her.

Diana frowned and closed her eyes again, fear suddenly draining away. If she fell asleep again, maybe she wouldn't die. Her Chaos, rest, and health-deprived state obviously clouded her thoughts a little.

The memory of being carried suddenly came to her. She frowned. She really was a deadweight, wasn't she?

"Thank you," she muttered. It was so low that it would be difficult for anyone to hear, let alone her savior. "If you wouldn't mind, wake me up when we are ready to start going again..."

The ginger fell asleep, curling up on the ground, snoring softly.
