An Evil Haunted Mansion.

To Mary, if Mark called in to cancel work, it meant he was ill. She checked his forehead, and he felt a little cold and clammy to her. Frowning, she got to her feet, and showered, then changed into her business suit, got her brief case ready, and went down stairs to make sure Mark had a good breakfast for when he wanted it. And Jennifer too, while she was at it. Jennifer would be going to school after that weekend, so she would probably ride the bus home. Or call for a taxi. As she cooked breakfast, she wondered what had happened last night, or if she even really wanted to know.

Jennifer woke up a little later than her alarm, and smacked the off button, rubbing her eyes. She sat up, and glanced out the window. It wasn't sunny at all that day, but cold, gloomy, and looked as if the skies wanted to rain. She powered up her laptop, checked over her e-mail, then took her own shower, and took time dressing casual. A plain green t-shirt and black jeans, with just her socks. By the time she wandered downstairs she found her mom up and making breakfast. "Did dad already go to work?" She asked, helping set up the table. "No, the poor guy seems to have caught either a virus or just isn't feeling too great. So he'll be home today with you," Jennifer nodded, not minding a bit. This house could be so weird when you were by yourself...

Mark had gone right back to sleep after calling in sick for the day and getting the day off from work. He set his phone back down on the night stand and fell right to sleep, feeling rather cold after that night. It was weird, but it wasn't something he would want to question himself about. After about an hour or so he got up, not able to sleep anymore. He was still a little bit tired, but not enough to want to go back to bed. Besides, it wouldn't feel right to just stay in bed all day and not do anything. Maybe he could spend time with his daughter while he's here before she goes off to school after the weekend and he goes back to work..

Jennifer was always glad when her dad was able to stay home. She spent most of the day in her room, but since he was home she felt more at ease. Something about this huge house spooked her, and she kept seeing -people- appear, then disappear whenever she went to investigate. Hopefully none of these 'ghosts' for obviously that's what they were, would prove to be too vicious!

After pricing the dresses she intended to sell, some of them went for 600 just for the fact they were so old- she was happy to just study her homework, and take it easy for the day.

Mary on the other hand, was glad to get to her office when she did, since it just decided to outright downpour horrendous torrents of rain- and the sky had previously been clear on her drive to work! She had a feeling today might get a little -bizarre-.

Mark slept until Mary had left for work, perhaps a little after.Eventually he couldn't sleep no more and so got up. He went into the bathroom and showered to wake himself up more before getting dressed and then going down stairs. After that, he went into the kitchen to get something to eat.

Jennifer's morning didn't start well. Her hairbrush, which was usually right on her nightstand, was gone. Nowhere to be found in her room at all. Half of her make up kit was also suddenly -gone- without a trace, and she nearly froze in the middle of her shower! She literally had to rush through it so she wouldn't freeze under that icy spray. Grumpy now, she raced to her closet to find her clothes, and was glad they were all still there. What was more, she found her hair brush, and her make up at the bottom of her shoe rack! She muttered obsceneties until she'd warmed up in clean clothes, and went about towel drying her hair. As soon as she was presentable, she went to the kitchen to see if her father wanted coffee. Hopefully the two of them could spend some time out of the house today. She was beginning to feel a bit more than spooked!

Mary only sold fourteen houses that day, when ordinarily she was a top seller and managed at least 40 a day. The weather had caused several people to cancel appointments, and so she spent a lot of time in her office, typing reports, filing papers, faxing other important papers, and checking on potential home owners. But an eerie feeling had settled over her like a cloud, and she couldn't shake an urge to call Mark and Jennifer, no matter how much she told her mind to stop over-reacting to the new house.

She was a medium, her daughter was a medium. They both saw things, no matter where they went. So why should one house make anything scarier? But during a downtime in her office, she researched the mansion they'd just moved into. What articles she pulled from the internet about the house made her eyes widen with shock. That many murders? In one mansion? It wasn't a coincidence, no matter how huge or old the place was. She might have just found out why the place was so cheap. And why most didn't make it out alive. The question remained, should she get her family out of there as soon as possible? Or see if they were safe?
