I want to run an rp that includes the following things and would really appreciate feedback and interests:

1. The story would revolve around a group of original characters working together toward a common goal

2. There will need to be scenes of action and adventure encouraging or requiring teamwork.

3. Romance is possible

4. A system should be in place so players can easily identify the strengths and weaknesses and potential of their characters and each other. Ideally, this will help them adjudicate the outcome and challenge of various tasks and enemies.

5. I'll play the role of god. Npcs, the world, and the outcome of actions would be dictated or controlled by me.

6. The out of character chatter will be a mix of discord server and site thread.

Stuff we need specifically (in addition to anything else offered):
1. Genre
2. Setting
3. Scenario/Goal
4. Rp system suggestions
5. Voiced interest

Spent some time working out a system to try:
1. 3 stats (Attack, Defense, Speed)
2. 7 points to split between the 3 stats
3. Max stat of 5
4. Min stat of 1
5. Life and Energy pools
6. Abilities would draw from the Energy pool to perform. Stronger forms of the ability would draw more from the pool.

Nothing overly complicated. The rp'ers would rp as normal while using statistics, pools, and narrative to guide posts. Meanwhile, I would manage to the behind the scenes stuff that determines outcomes.

Open to suggestions though and the final draft may be tweaked from this.

To balance ranged folk like archers, they will have a penalty on attacks in exchange for their safety at a distance without additional cost.

Initial plot idea will involve the roleplayer's taking on the roll of characters working together for the sake of money. Perhaps their bonds will be more than that or become more over time, but the main story will involve them taking a job from an abbot for money. The abbot would like to move up in the hierarchy of his church. For that to happen, one of the senior members needs to go.

The characters will have to find a way to get the senior member ousted. Action, adventure, conspiracy, social, etc... opportunities.

All supernatural abilities will be based on the character's chosen affinity. We'll try to keep those unique among the characters. An affinity could be anything: Fire, chairs, fear, but the idea is the abilities of that character must then all tie back into that affinity.

Rather than having specific abilities lists, the character's will be assumed proficient enough in their affinities to make custom abilities on the fly (or to have a set list that's not publicly listed like a wizard with a spell book).

The ability will cost a point from the energy pool to use and cost additional points for greater effects, longer range, additional targets, etc.

Energy to the abilities will be recovered at regular intervals so ability focused characters won't be left without options (assuming they don't play all their energy with overly flashing displays)

The players could start as disciples, monks, pilgrims, etc...of a particular religious order. For rewards promised, they could be dispatched from their home to retrieve a holy relic known as the Mantis Chalice. It is an item that was stolen and is currently being misused by the thief to hold supernatural dominion over a city.

In finding and taking back the chalice, it's expected the members of the recovery team while run into a multitude of ways of claiming materialistic rewards like treasures, money, and services and goods to spend their findings on if they want to.

Additionally, the characters will have skills. They will be allowed to list all the skills they acquired/used/have from life and/or their last occupation.
In addition to any weapon, armor, and affinity training the character has, they can have specific actions listed:
climbing, sawing, hammering, researching, memory, intimidation, silver tongue persuasion, and much more.

While any character may be able to attempt to perform any action within their reasonable means to do, those with skill in the task at hand will be assumed to be better at it and have a greater chance of success.
