Alyss's Mirror

"You happen to be in the covers of my bed, sipping tea, in my rebel base." he stated, leaving the pot levitating in the air as he got up, slowly revolving in front of Alyss. He slowly stood up, looking down at his feet, grinning. He then began to go into what seemed like giggle fits, crescendo-ing into full fledged laughter. He slowly began to do backwards cartwheels around the room, talking in a higher pitch, laughing in between.
"
There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter. You, my dear, are in Wonderland!" he exclaimed, ending right beside the bed, with a show of flair.
"I am Dementis D. Hatter, but you may call me the Hatter." he told Alyss. He got on his hands, and placed his hat on his buttocks, and, quite expertly, gave a tip of the hat with his toes on the hat. He stood back up, but the hat was invaribly stuck on his bottom, as he kicked it as it spinned on it's rim up his back, and swirling back onto his head.
"Oh, no worries. I assure you, it won't smell after that." he jested, laughing at his small joke loudly.

”Is she here?” The distressed Dormouse asked a receptionist for the hospital they had at the base. It was more of a makeshift hospital than anything, yet, it still had the feel of one with tiled floor branching off of the ground outside.
“Please calm down, she is in room one o’ two. Do not speak so loudly when you get in she’s sleeping.” The silver haired boy nodded as he took off down the appropriate hallway. He finally ended up at the room specified and cracked the door open. He took off his hat before he pushed it open the rest of the way. His head just barely came up to the height of the bed Hare was on. Going down to the end of the bed he looked at the charts as well as her list of injuries. ”I should have been there. I should have stayed with you.”
”Shoulda coulda woulda…what would you have done to help?” Her voice was achy as her eyes peered down the bed at her little buddy.
”Miss Hare. I…I don’t know what I could have done. But anything was better than leaving you like this.” She smiled gently and motioned with her hand to come near her. Once he did she patted him on his bare head like a mother would caressing a child.

”Don’t be silly. I am always on my guard and I will protect myself. I was worried about you.”
”M…Molly?”
”Yeah?”
”Thank you.”
He bowed his head down in a manner of respect. Only in serious cases did he ever call her Molly as she hated the name. The surprise thank you was enough to cause a brief silence between the two. She had taken her hand back and let it rest on her chest.
”We both need some rest now. I will be better by morning. Enjoy yourself tonight, Darion.” She had returned his name and between them that meant they had come to an agreement on the matter. The young boy nodded putting his hat back on.
”I will.”

Out of the looking glass El Jakoline, took one look around and looked back the way they'd come. "Well as fun as this had been I must take my leave. I have no end of work to do..." he bowed to no-one in particular and stepped back through the glass. He hurried back through the tunnels muttering directions as he did so. This was the most dangerous task he had even given himself, the jester was a dangerous person. But he had been waiting for this opportunity to get one up on that insane lackey.

In the Castle he moved quickly through the hallways, passing the throne room and searched for the jester. He saw him coming through a doorway and quickly turned away, it would be better is the jester though he saw him first.... if he was looking for Alyss then speaking to the person who was escorting her to the work camps was an obvious move, even for the imbecile.

Jester was nearly livid as his path was halted by... Jak. It was all he could do to keep from swearing loudly. Or from calling Jak an imbecile. Jester had never liked Jak, had never gotten a favorable feeling from him.

"Well, since you so casually happen to be in my way, tell me where you took the dead one, this ... Alyss."
[/size]

"Alyss.......?" He said turning around. "Ohhhhh you mean ze girl, blue haired... with ze cat? She went to ze work campz why are you looking for her?" he faced himm his mouth growing dry. You didn't face someone like the jester and didn't feel a twinge of fear. Even under the best of circumstances. "Perhaps if we hurry we can intercept zem before they get too far?"

"But the time for jokes, Miss Alyss, is later. For now, we must hurry to announce your arrival to the rebel base. They're morale will be the better for it" he said, offering a hand to Alyss, as she took it and got out of bed, putting a few fingers through her hair.
"Where are we going, Hatter?" she asked, looking at him as she followed the Hatter, turning down several pathways, as she saw that Hatter's room was incredibly extravagant compared to what she saw now.
She was in what seemed to be a giant warehouse, with a bit of dust still around, but it looks as if people were here constantly. It was, in fact, an old weapons warehouse for the Queen's army, but was taken over by criminals, and she payed no attention to it after that, having most of the important weapons taken just in time. She was foolish, since the rebels were base shopping at the time, and cleaned out the criminal scum inside, and is now the main base of the rebels against the Queen.
"To our mission control, to get the heads of the rebels together to stratigize what we do next, but I'll allow the other rebels into the room to see you, and let them feel like were doing well. Which we are, of course." he lectured, turning into a room, that had a rather large map of Wonderland on the wall, and a large table in the center, with teacups and pots around it all.
He motioned her to sit in the chair in the back, facing the door, and she did just that.
Hatter went to the crystal intercom, and cleared his throat, the voice heard clear throughout the base.
"This is Hatter, speaking to everyone in the base...
I have a special announcement, and would like EVERYONE to come to the mission control room. Thank you, that is all. This includes the senior officers, down to the smallest member."
He finished his speech, and sat next to Alyss, tilting in his chair, smiling.
"It'll be a while before everyone gets here. Relax." he said, seeing her visibly nervous at having everyone in the base in this huge room.

Jester tilted his head to the left by roughly half an inch, eyes narrowing, studying Jak. "If you cannot find her, if she has escaped... I will not be happy. My happiness is important, you understand me?" Jester's voice was a thin hiss, impressively pitched to be barely audible. In the space of a blink, Jester had slid past Jak.

"Care to join me?" it wasn't a question.

Kasim stood, stretching out his lengthy legs as he eyes the base with disdain. His home had been a palace and this, a hovel. Kasim had lived alone, courting a pretty young girl down the street, hoping to take her to his shop and make her his wife. She would weave with him the plush rugs that cloaked the floor.

Like the precious spice he smoked, Kasim's dreams had gone up in smoke. The new queen had ruined his carefully tended business, breaking his shop and his will until Kasim had joined these rebels. He didn't have to be happy about it.

"If this announcement is some sort of new morale crock..." Kasim threatened under his breath.

"You can't find her without me, remember that." El Jacoline responded walking behind the Jester. "This way." he said pointing dow a side passage that the Jester had walked past, "We'll go out the east, across the causeway." he explained moving down the passage quickly, he didn't even bother waiting for the Jester, he knew it would anger him, but that was all part of the plan.

The announcement blared throughout the camp and, despite his looks, Dormouse was one of the senior officers. He may have not had the brute force some had but he definitely had the stealth. He gently set down the food he was munching on and made his way to the mission control room. Once there he was dwarfed by the other members of the senior officers. He transformed into his mouse form to get closer to the front so he could see The Hatter and hear what he had to say.

The sound of a pot crashing upon another broke the rabble sounds from the now somewhat sizable mob of people inside the war room.
Everyone stopped instantly, and saw Hatter with the handle of what seemed to be a teapot, having smashed the pot on the table with the one in his hand.
"Sorry. I didn't have a champagne glass and a knife."
The room burst into good willed laughter, easing the tensions of having been announced in here by the Hatter. He peered down and saw the Dormouse, smiling, and looking up at the equally smiling group, awaiting for his words.
"The fact that we are making quite a ruckus and pandemonium at the castle is something to celebrate. But, now, we may become more that just a noisy housefly to the Queen. The reason... is her."
The people inside the room instantly murmured and whispered, looking around for the woman Hatter was pointing to, not noticing at all that his finger was pointed at Alyss, seated next to him.
The group soon saw this, and the room filled with an air of disdain, some vocally denouncing the blue haired girl before them, not daring to say that Hatter was a tosser out loud. Everyone here respected Hatter, and did not usually question him, but many thought he crossed the line with this joke.
"Now now... Please, settle everyone, and allow me to explain..."
he said, with a soft, calm, yet commanding voice. It seemed to cut through the outbursts and objections of earlier, disquieting them as if he really cut them down with an aerial sword.

Located in the stables at the Rebels HQ lived the White Knight, Kyrus Kornapple. He shared a stall with his loyal steed, Applesauce. Applessauce is a special horse given to Kyrus by the queen herself, he is built low to the ground and has a very unique white stripe running down his back. When he was given to Kyrus by the queen, She had the white Knight in mind. His low to the ground statute made him Ideal for Kyrus who seemed to fall of the horse at least once a day. After separating himself from his royal ties to join the Rebellion, he took Applesauce with him, after all, what is a Knight without his horse?

In the small, straw covered, stall, Kyrus had a bed and a little table. Hanging on the wall, next to Applesauce's saddle and reins, was his armor and sword. You might think it a little strange; an ex Royal Knight living in such close quarters with a horse, but to Kyrus it was perfect. He had everything he needed close by, and in all honesty, Applesauce was his best friend and closest ally.

" What do you thinK?" Said Kyrus while holding up a long sleeved white shirt with pear buttons. Applesauce shifted indifferently in response, or rather what the white Knight took as a response.

"yes, yes. I quite agree. Too flashy indeed, but you didn't have to be so forward about it. A simple "no" would have been fine" The horse chewed aimlessly at a piece of hay.

Kyrus was known for holding extensive conversations with the non-speaking horse. Although Applesauce may or may not have a clue to as what the White knight was talking about half the time, he suited Kyrus just fine as an opinionated friend.

Just as Kyrus was about to sit down to read he heard the blaring voice of The Hatter ring out over the crystal intercom.

"This is Hatter, speaking to everyone in the base...
I have a special announcement, and would like EVERYONE to come to the mission control room. Thank you, that is all. This includes the senior officers, down to the smallest member."

Applesauce's ears perked up as he swished his tail.

"The Hatter calls our company, dear friend. To the mission control room! we must make haste!" The white knight became very animated, as he often did, waving his arms around and opening his eyes very wide " The Hatter calls! To allegiance we ride!" In a hasty, but none the less deliberate action The white knight through a near by saddle onto Applesauce's back. He fastened the belt, and in one solid movement jumped on the back of his four legged comrade.

"To the Control Room!" Announced Kyrus to the abandoned stables with his hand raised high in a half salute. At this, the stunned horse slowly turned and headed out of the stall. Not at all pleased with his Horses lazy presentation to the call of duty, Kyrus kicked Applesauce sharply in the ribs. Applesauce did not like this at all and responded by bucking poor Kyrus off of his back. Kyrus managed to stay on, but only by one foot that was still hooked firmly in the stirrup. Thats when Applesauce took off like a bolt of lightning, with his master in tote, literally hanging on by his little toe.

So the two, The Knight and his loyal steed, headed towards the Control room. Kyrus being half dragged half pulled the short distance to the Control room. When they got to the door, Applesauce stopped short. The horse simply whinnied once to let Kyrus know they had arrived. How embarrassing this must have been for the White Knight, to arrive to an Important meeting being dragged by his horse, but as full of pride and duty as the Knight was, he played it off as he got to his feet.

" The White Knight has arrived!" Said Kyrus looking around at his many Rebel allies.

Alyss scanned the room, wide-eyed. There were so many different kinds of people and...was that a horse? Everyone seemed so...Unreal. After Hatter silenced everyone, she looked up to listen to him.
"The fact that we are making quite a ruckus and pandemonium at the castle is something to celebrate. But, now, we may become more that just a noisy housefly to the Queen. The reason... is her."
Alyss looked up at him, speechless. Was she supposed to be something special to these people? How? From what she'd seen so far, there was no way she could be any help to this organization. She was about to contribute to the murmurs and protests when Hatter spoke again.

Jester casually grabbed El Jacoline by the collar of the shirt, smiling sweetly as Jac was lifted a few inches from the ground. Jester left the silence hang for a second, knowing El Jacoline would be immensely angered by this motion. Or so Jester hoped.

"I can find anyone I want to, Jacoline. Don't you forget it. I will bathe the world in lovely, thick red blood if I need to, maybe even if I want to, but it will be accomplished. I would not really mind dipping my fingers into your neck to lick some of you oxygen-rich lifeblood from my hands. I'm sure you would taste delicious. Don't take this as an utter insult, it would give me near-orgasmic pleasure to desecrate your body."

With that, Jester dropped El Jacoline and skipped towards the door.

El Jak, held his tongue. He followed a few meters behind muttering as they exited the bettered castle. Only when they were as small distance away did he stop. He swallowed, his throat going dry, the back of the Jester would be an easy target. Two small clicks and he sprang forward his pistols raised before he sent a hail of cards flying.

High in the sky, Sonata drifted over vast arrays of destruction and beautiful scenes of death... Though, what truly stirred the mystic's attention was the recent arrival of something new... Something that would change both the world and it's spirit.
For a breif moment, Sonata felt a soul worth watching, eyes turning downward to observe a duet of powerful beings...

"Now, let's see here," Hatter began, tap-tapping his fingers together rhythmatically in front of his face, pinky to index, pinky to index. Ooh, there's a beat there. I bet if I could tap dance--

"I can so tap dance!"

He paused, staring about the large roundish room. It was roundish in principle, but the room also had a single corner. It was an empty corner, and had little use, barring the not-so-often-used, discipline-building punishment of corner-gazing. It was the worst punishment imaginable, corner-gazing. Nothing to do, nothing to say, nothing to see but a single crack. A chair had been there once. The corner had eaten it.

No, really.

Clearing his throat, he clasped hands at the small of his back and paced about the head of the chamber. Well, so long as he paced it, it was the head. He opened his mouth, hand gestured forth as if ready to begin some grande diatribe on the evils of the Queen, of how she had mis-managed and mis-conducted herself among the Kingdom and the People. She was the worst thing Wonderland had seen! Wonderland was no longer a Wonder, thanks to her. It was a... a....

"Have a spot of tea, love," he suddenly said cheerfully, offering the young, blue-haired heroine a small, porcelain teacup. There " ... couldn't have been more than a few ounces of tea in it, but it was steaming hot, and the aroma was divine. I know, I made it!" He paused.

"Oh wait, I'm narrating again, aren't I?"
