Yikes that sounds silly xD

Hmm I haven't posted yet for Shireen but I don't really think there's much for her to do :0
Well, you also aren't due to post for Shireen yet, since there hasn't been a post for the Priestess, Tawny (minus that one line from her in Clay's post), or Zito since your last Shireen post. o3o Which might be part of the reason why there isn't much for you to react to, currently. XD

Ah that makes sense then :o

Another choppy-but-functional post. Sorry to have to keep churning these out one after another. :/

On the bright side, I think I'm finally starting to get caught up on all my RP stuff across-the-board ever since the whole convention/long-ass-Fandomstuck-post thing. So, hopefully you'll start seeing posts with a bit more polish in the weeks to come. XD

Short, kind of blah post, but there it is.

Hey, Kaga. I changed my name again

ANNOUNCEMENT

@Neobullseye @Turtle of the Tired @Effort @Luma @Eruantien @PoetLore @Greenie @Rithas @AnimeLover_Princess

I think now is the time when I'll have to put off IC posting until the start of Spring Break (which would be March 11th). I think I've done at least a half-decent job of keeping up with IC posts throughout the first half of the semester, but, in order to end this half on a good note and get done everything that needs to get done before break without completely exhausting my spoon supply... yeah, some of the less-essential stuff will have to get pushed back a bit. Thankfully, you'll only have to wait about a week before I can start to get back into things. And I'll still be around to check in on stuff. If anything, the fact that I'm not trying to get any IC posts done until then will theoretically leave me with more time to just hang around. o_o

My apologies to everyone in Derrick's group. I was hoping to get a post out for him this week, but things got hectic, and now it looks like that won't be feasible. So, you might be stuck waiting a bit longer. I would suggest that you could try to go on without me, but then you'd just be bringing him to Ace, and you can't really progress from there if I'm not around to play him... I guess you could at least try to do one more turn cycle without me, then? Really I'm kind of leaving this up to you guys to decide. Just let me know if you have any ideas and we can work things out from there.

As for the other group -- there are still a number of characters who have to post before it'll be my turn again. So, just keep on going and it'll probably be about my turn by the time break starts, anyway.

I... sort of completely forgot to post here, didn't I? >_<.

Uhhh that depends, I guess. Maybe if you were still thinking in terms of Victarion/Alicia/Clay counting as their own group, then, maybe it was your turn?

But on my notes, I already merged them in with the group in Darius's lab (since both groups were occupying the same physical space by that point and there was no reason to keep them separate). And in that case, there are quite a few people who need to post more than you do. o_o" So I don't think you need to worry about it.

True, true. But at the same time, although a lot of people are in the same spot, not everyone is talking to everyone, right? Meaning there's no reason for me to wait for everyone. And seeing how as far as I can see, everyone in Alicia's direct convo group has posted again, that would mean it's my turn again.

Either way, postage will have to wait for tomorrow.

Yes, but I'm... not sure how that changes things.

Like, I guess you can post early if you really want to, but I'm not going to actively poke people to poke early, because, well -- in a large group, there's already a lot to reply to, at least assuming everything moves in a strict turn order (which I usually don't adhere to, but, you know, hypotheticals). Meanwhile, lots of players are posting early, then that means that the slower posters (who otherwise would've been next in line to post if I was enforcing a strict turn order), will have even more to respond to -- as every other person in the group has posted at least once since the slower member's last post, and some people have posted twice or possibly even three times.

A comparison I thought of just now: it's almost like a strict turn order is comparable to socialism, while everyone posting as early as they want is more like laissez-faire (holy shit I spelled that right) capitalism. With a "socialist" turn order, everyone response to the same number of posts. And with a "capitalist" system, some people will get ahead of the game, posting more often and making it easier for themselves to post each time (as they'll have less to respond to each time, and everything is probably fresher in their memories anyway), but others will fall very far behind, and it will actually become increasingly difficult for them to catch up as time goes on and the gap between the rich and the poor increases in size...

I seek to strike a balance between the two. I don't want to hold everyone back and adhere to a strict turn order, because that stifles the free economy flow of creativity and ideas, making some posters get bored sooner than they otherwise would. But I'm also concerned about people falling behind. That's why my "friendly posting reminders" are based on whose turn it would be if there was a strict turn order, but why I usually don't deter people from posting early if they really want to (unless I notice that things are falling way out-of-balance and we really need to stop for a second so that someone else can catch up).

Now that I'm finished typing all this, I realize that I still have no idea what your initial question was even asking. But I hope this sheds some light on... something that might be helpful to you?

I wonder if I should post. Nah I think Darius can wait a little bit.

As I have mentioned before, I'll be starting Spring Break soon. The plan was (and, really, still is) that I will go home around noon on Friday. My plans for the rest of the day and Friday morning are so busy that I didn't think I would be online much until Friday evening. However, I have just found out that a wind storm knocked the power out back home, and we don't know when it will be back. I've been told that it could be down for a week or more. This means that the battery life on all of my devices is about to become a rather limited commodity. Theoretically I could still get plenty of use out of my devices now while I still have access to power, but... like I said, I'll be busy for much of that time frame.

Does this mean I won't be able to do the posts that I said I would do over Spring Break? Ehh... maybe? I have relatives who live decently close-by who will be letting us use their power as needed, which means that I at least won't be forced to make just one charge last all week. I also certainly plan to like... enjoy my vacation, at least to the best of my ability, and even my non-electronic hobbies still require access to a light source (so, I may find it difficult to read books or re-organize my Pokemon card collection after sunset, for example...) I also have actual homework that requires the use of my laptop, and I may need to prioritize that over other things.

What I'm trying to say is: I will still need to ration out my battery life between many things, and some of those things may just be purely for entertainment purposes, since my current sleep schedule means that I tend to sleep till noon and not go to bed until well past midnight, but my med schedule makes it hard to be productive late at night (not to mention the fact that I want to cut down on my dosage a bit during break anyway, meaning it'll run out even sooner in the day), so I may have an existential crisis if I can't find any way to entertain myself after dark... BUT I will still have at least some opportunities to re-charge my devices over break, so I'll probably be able to get around to doing at least some of the RP-related stuff that I wanted to do. We'll just have to see how everything works out. :/

The point is, I probably won't be continuing my regular routine of spending a ton of time lazing around on Iwaku and being active enough that I still see everything that happens even if I don't have the brain power to give detailed responses or write IC posts. For the next week or so, expect that my online presence will be much more conservative and task-oriented.

TL;DR -- KAGA DOES NOT HAVE POWER AND MUST RATION HER LAPTOP/PHONE BATTERY LIFE, and also my 3DS battery life, although that's not really relevant to being able to get IC posts up. Come Friday, I will also be putting a notice about this in my signature so that Gwazi will know about it because I can't be bothered to deal with that fucking username of his right now.

PS: Do not be fooled by the length of this message into thinking that I have lots of time on my hands this evening. I don't. I just suck at being concise, and I'm already upset at myself for taking so long to write this.

Alright dude.

UPDATE:

@Turtle of the Tired @Effort @Luma @Eruantien @PoetLore @Greenie @AnimeLover_Princess

So, the electricity situation is not as bad as I thought! Or at least, in terms of how it affects me personally, it’s not so bad. Objectively, it’s really a lot worse than I thought. Apparently my hometown is literally in a state of emergency, and the outage apparently means that my house doesn’t have heat, either, thus making it barely livable. BUT, this means that my parents have already made arrangements for me to live with a relative who does have power (which is much better than only popping by every so often to charge devices, which was my original assumption). Admittedly I didn’t ask my mom for a lot of details about the situation when I was first told about it because I didn’t want to perpetuate the stereotype of the millennial who panics at the very thought of a dead phone battery, but, apparently I’m not alone in this need. A lot of schools and even retail establishments have opened themselves up to the public as "charging stations", offering power and wi-fi to the many people without it. Looks like I’m not too crazy for being concerned about not being able to use my devices, and my peers are all a bit more sympathetic towards that need than I expected. ^^"

So, life still might be pretty crazy for a while, and I might be bouncing around between a few different living spaces until my own power comes back on (assuming that even happens before break ends). But, I think my mom was spot-on when she said "I figured you’d be happier sleeping on the floor in a warm house with wi-fi than sleeping in a bed in a cold house without wi-fi"… I know that I’ll at least be spending tonight (and probably tomorrow morning and maybe even a few days after that) in a house that has power, heat, internet, and food that’s been frozen/refrigerated properly, and those are all things that I’m very thankful for right now. o_o" The question of where I’ll be staying after tonight is still a bit up-in-the-air, but, at least I have a lot more options than I thought I did. I think I’ll be alright.

In conclusion, despite the literal state of emergency, the comfort that I’ll still have power, internet, and won’t have to rely solely on natural sources of light for a good chunk of the time means that most of my original spring break plans can actually carry on without much issue, relatively speaking. o_o" So… that’s a good thing to look forward to! BUT, it’s definitely worth keeping in mind that things are still kinda crazy right now, so my online presence still won’t be quite as consistent as it would’ve been if the power never went out at all. I’ll try to keep you guys updated whenever something major happens, but, in the meantime, don’t be too surprised if I suddenly vanish for a day or two.
