Already Dead

    It started with disease, it effected the animals first, causing a feeling of absolute hunger and senselessness. They began eating our crops, and the fear of developing the disease left us without animal meat. Soon the disease mutated, and the animals developed an aggressive behavior, and with that a love of human flesh.

    Upon bitten, those would develop stage one of the disease, a permanent hunger. Their skin began to take a sickly gray, green, or white complexion. After the disease mutated once again, the patient would become near death, in a coma like state. Then the disease mutated again, shutting off most of the brain and other vital organs. The only parts left working was the heart and the part of the brain the disease controlled. Released from the coma, the new host of the virus became feral, and began lashing out for flesh, trying to overcome their hunger.
    Once the host bites a new target, the parasite transfers to the target, and acting faster than ever before.

    As the new rapid spreading virus hit major populated area's, it spreads across the population rapidly, not sparing a single soul. The armies of the world fought these new monsters, and were hardly a problem if kept in a quarantined area. The parasite adapted once again, and soon new strands developed in Type O Blood, and new monsters developed changing the game of the war.

    We retreated from the quarantined areas, guns blazing behind us, as the infected chomped onto our heels. We went the only place that most infected couldn't travel, islands and boats. Most of the surviving animals have become immune to the disease, making the location much safer than the main land.
    We evacuated all sensible humans. By sensible, we mean those that didn't become raiders and savages. Some people were crazy enough to stay on the mainlands and fight the undead- and anyone else they come across.

    Tunneler (Digger)
    A tunneler lives underground during the day, their sharp claws help them dig through rock and dirt. Their eyes have become too sensitive for extreme lights, making them nocturnal.

    Feral Infected
    An infected mutated to the point of power. Twice the speed and twice the danger, a feral infected have grown twice in size and their fingernails have mutated into a dangerous weapon. The plus side to them is that their organs are closer to the skin, making it easier to kill them.

    Hulking Infected
    An infected mutated beyond imagination. Their muscles fused with the parasite, spreading with it.

    Outcast
    A crazy, savage faction located in the Zoo, often high off of drugs, drunk, or out destroying the world more.

    Militia
    A more civil, and well equipped faction. Their main faction base is located in the police station near the water.

    Setting

    Rain Harbor, once a naval harbor town before the infection, has become a battlezone for raiders and the infected alike. Once known for its amazing zoo, shopping malls, and only a mile from the airport.
    Now known for two large raiding factions at war, and the only military fort for miles.

    The "Outcast" a barbaric, crazed faction held up in the zoo, are destructive and don't care for their own, or others safety.


    The "Militia" are more sane and sensible, held up in the police station near the waterfront. Often dressed in military gear, and wielding the most high powered weapons.

    Miles off the coast, a US military carrier sends a helicopter of two squads to retrieve the last call of survivors from the military base. Along the way, the copter crashes, and the surviving members must travel throughout the city meeting friends and foes to the airport located on the far side of the city.

    History:

    Drake was a small time drug dealer in Rain Harbor, and was also prone to stealing cars and other items. Finally getting arrested by the police for an armed robbery of a liquor store, they searched his house they found several of reported stolen items. Getting thrown into jail a day before the apocalypse hit Rain Harbor and a day before he was transferred to prison was a bad combination. On the way to the prison miles from the city, a herd of infected attacked the city, causing the car to crash.
    Barely managing to escape the crash, Drake managed to live in and around the city, scavenging and talking his way from larger parties of possible raiders, and killing any and all undead.

    Personality:

    Cocky, loud mouth, and hard headed. If you gain his trust, he is 100% loyal.

    Strengths: Very good aim, fast runner, good at hand to hand combat (if a weapon is involved)
    Weaknesses: Low endurance, not very strong
    History: None of her past mattered anymore. School, family; Sylvia didn't even consider that a part of her anymore. She was a different person now. Her entire family was killed. She only survived because she was the only one small enough to hide under the sink. She learned to shoot and fight on her own. It was a long and rough process, but she survived. She stayed on the mainland for years, fighting for her life. She refused to give up and run to where it was safe. No where was safe anymore. And if there was a safe place, it was no place for her.
    Personality: Sylvia's tough, but that's to be expected. A nice girl isn't used to being covered in blood and flesh. A nice girl doesn't use weapons or know how to fight. And a nice girl certainly doesn't get excited over hunting. She's got about as much compassion as a rock and will take down anyone in her way, though she still doesn't have an end goal. As long as the undead are walking, then she's hunting.
    Gear: Because she's on the mainland, where few survivors are left, there are many untainted resources available to her. Sylvia usually carries around her guns as well as a nice blade that she found on the way. The sweatshirt and jeans she's wearing are torn and have been worn for quite a long time. She can find a change of clothes every few months, but it's a luxury she just doesn't care about. As for food, she eats when she can. Some days she's luckier than others. Some days, she starves. It's just how life goes, and she's accepted that.

    Faction: Survivor
    Strengths: She is strong, she can climb, and run. She knows how to fight in close quarters, and can hunt. She has quick reflexes.
    Weaknesses: Darkness impairs her, she cant see very well in it. So at night time she tends to stay put.
    History: Karah's family had just moved to Rain Harbor when the horror began to happen, Karah lost everyone of her family members. The loss hardened her, and now she rarely lets people in.
    Personality: Shy and extremely defensive.
    Gear: She has a back pack that she wears, it carries a pair of jeans and a tshirt. Some canned goods, a couple of different sorts knives, she also has a cross bow that she hangs from the backpack. And a few different guns that she has in various clips on her body, along with the assorted ammo for each.

    Name: Harlon 'Ace' Ritterson

    Age: 24

    Faction: Raiders; She travels alone.

    Strengths: Ace is well off when it comes to handling any type of firearms or explosive weaponry. She is not as quick as others, but her ability to use her mind to think quickly has gotten her out of many a bad situation, along with the fact that she understands how to use her feminine charm to get what she needs. Beware that charm though, because many who let their guard down for it end up with a bullet to the brain.

    Weaknesses: Ace is slow. Like, she can't outrun shit. No. Its not because she is actually slow. Its more due to the fact that she carries heavy guns along with her, which restrict her movements. Along with this, Ace is less likely to be able to use her guns all of the time, due to lack of ammunition. However, she has modified one small gun to be able to shoot rounds of ammo she herself has made by melting old pieces of metal over the fire. This gun, is highly innacurate though.

    History:

    Personality: Ace is as quick to (falsely) befriend you as she is to blow your brains out. With her hot headed, tough persona, and her ability to manipulate others through 'feminine charm', Ace truly can be terrifying at times, which is why she travels alone. She is basically a loner, and is unlikely to actually befriend anyone for companionship, unless they have something of use to her. Its a tough world. Survival of the fittest. And she truly lives by those words.

    Gear: Ace travels simply, carrying her guns, a canteen that's always half full, and a smaller backpack full of essentials. On her frame, she dresses lightly, but often she wears a military helmet or a pair of goggles atop her head. These goggles are her go-to equipment, though, as they are magnified glass in one corner of a lens, which is helpful when the girl pulls out her sniper rifle, her baby. When she isn't using that from a safe place, though, she has her submachine gun in hand or her pistol, if the time calls for it.

    Name: Jayce Syk (pronounced Sick)
    Age: 19
    Gender:Male
    Faction: Lone (Survivor, doesn't travel with anybody)
    Strengths: Has all the abilities he needs to be a total ninja (Speed, Agility, Stealth, Strength) Can see right through lies, (Ace, I'm looking at you...) Seems to be very attractive to girls, he uses this to make them go away.
    Weaknesses: Attention span is very short, will keep on fighting even if he can't win, wants to save every human in existence, even if he dies doing it.
    History: After his family was killed and every friend he'd known was mutated, Jayce fell into a deep depression which caused him to want to travel lone, and made him want to be very solitary from others.
    Personality: Very unfocused if something's unimportant to him. He is very nice, as lots others survivors aren't. He's very good at seeing right through others' plans and is very good at detection. Humorous, sometimes he takes jokes a little too far. If he sees you as a potential threat, he's incredibly likely to just look at you and hold his pistol to your head and pull the trigger.
