Wesley Dawson, Downtown Philadelphia, 1143 hours

@ShayBear @Pyralithia

Downtown Philadelphia

Darkness. Lack of consciousness.

~Wesley~ ... Melissa's voice..his long past sister. Her voice still haunting him. But where was he.

~Wesley!~ He heard her speak once again only to slowly open his eyes to a dull but blinding light shining down on him.

~Wesley. You are finally awake....thank goodness.~ the voice said once more. Slowly taking in his surroundings. What had happened. He was with the scientists moments ago....hours ago. Maybe days ago. Time was senseless to the sniper at the moment. Slowly he sat up in the ruined rubble that would be his tomb if he let it and immediately he felt a pain in his side. "Glad to see you are still up and running MEL." Wesley groaned and checked the device on his wrist as he spoke to the AI he had been given. An AI based on his deceased sister, givin her personality and voice. The only tribute of her memory he had left. "Status and vitals..." He groaned as the small implants behind his retinas activated and gave him a small heads up display of sorts. Melissa or her true name MEL was the device that acted as a guide, a support of sorts. Multipurpose Electronic Locator. One benefit from being part of so many special units were the toys you got your hands on. He was given this specifically for his last assignment. To protect the VIP's and follow their instructions. Simple and clear. To the point as he liked.

~After that mess you got yourself into my power is only at 43%. You did not have a good position for me to charge well enough while you took your little nap~ the voice chuckled but still was filled with generated concern. ~As for your vitals. You have suffered a minor concussion, bruised ribs on your left side, a 9mm graze on your left leg and a small puncture wound that I cannot identify. Strange~ She said which concerned him greatly. "Where..."

~I do not know...I was not online when the activity took place. The wound is healed and as for checking for infection I already did that for you. The program for that still being a prototype mind you it has yet to fail me yet. I cannot give you an accurate reading...Welsey...~ She said sounding lost and defeated to which he shook his head. His throat was dry and felt raw from dehydration and blood. Slowly standing up from his position he found most of his belongings were still on him including his sidearm in which the clip was only half full. He remembered small they had encountered both a horde and a thuggish group of civilians not long before the events that came unfolded. Quickly Wesley began to dig through his bag. "Give me a reading of the area. Where am I and can you locate any of the VIPs" he said first grabbing one of his water bottles and chugging it and being greeted with pain in his side from his wounds. ~The last reading I have is four miles north of you before vitals of the individual dropped completely. There are no current transmitters from any of their previous locations...Welsey...they may be missing and lost some of their equipment but the higher probability is..~

"I know. The mission is a failure." he said pulling out the child made makeshift dog tags around his neck from his shirt before sighing and slowly bandaging the graze on his body. "Tell me where I am now and start to identify the location or last known area of Hanna and Kei Dawson." The soldier said feeling the soreness throughout his form as he pulled back on his own 1911 and looked down at the device as a small hologram appeared. ~You are currently in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Major city, Threat Level:Red. Last known population of over 2.2 million. Estimating infected population to be at 50% of that big brother. No immediate horde in your area. Expect stragglers and small groups nearby. Last known location of Hanna and Kei Dawson to be over 710 miles southwest of your position. Bit of a hike don't you think?~ she spoke. While it was her voice it was only an imitation and otherwise just a machine with a mask that helped him keep some form of familiarity. "I may be in a major city surrounded by these things but there will at least be a working vehicle nearby." Wesley said as he slowly began to walk down the blood stained cracked street ahead of him. While he was in ways extremely lucky. A few things troubled him. One was the reading on MEL was unable to determine if he was infected or had received any wound outside of debris or in this case a gunshot but the inevitable thought in the back of his mind.

As he moved quietly he immediately moved behind a corner of a building matching the dull rubble around him. Major towns always were the ones that went to shit first in any kind of panic. A small group ahead of him were on their hands and knees digging into some poor helpless corpse. From how badly it was torn apart it was impossible to tell if it was a human or animal they were feasting on. Slowly assessing the situation he looked around to see if their were any others around in the immediate vicinity. At least it was somewhat into the day where MEL could at the very least charge to some degree. Holstering his weapon he unsheathed his combat knife and slowly moved along the line of ruined vehicles littering the road. Moving slowly and thoroughly checking each car while keeping his distance in case one Z was close enough to trigger and alarms. Things could definitely get messy and he had a son to find and protect. A wife to shelter from harm. He was a free man. He only had to find them.

"Mel...I want you to put the resources you have from all other functions and put out a frequency throughout the Eastern states to any survivors out there. Im not looking for a group to settle with but maybe finding at least someone out there to help me..." He said briefly thinking about his old friend and the best man to his wedding. A man he trusted and served alongside on many occasions. Velkan...a bit obnoxious at times but a man he could trust to have his back and respect his own command. Looking around currently....he expected the worst but had to keep focused.~Alright understood. Good luck Wesley. All my resources will focus on that task and charging while the sun is still up.~ She said as his device only kept a small hologram of the immediate terrain around him and a wavelength of his broadcasted signal along the upper right of his vision.

Having past the small feasting party he found a large parking garage within his reach. Only problem was it was a very closed off space. Only direction was to go up or jump out the side. Once he would take his first steps there was little choice but to go forward. Holding his knife in his freehand and drawing his pistol in his right hand while slowly spinning on the silencer in his pack he made his way forward. A few z's cluttered the space as he walked soundlessly towards them. Immediately a few turned his way and he kept his pace as they came one at a time only for their heads to roll down along the floor without a skip in his pulse or a hesitant moment in his movements. Like Kris. War had done much to Wesley and this was just that..another horrific war.

Hours later Wesley was at last on the road and out of Philly on the set of wheels he had acquired in that garage. The motorcycle was half full on gas and the quickest option he had without the fear of having to search its contents before hand. Walking alongside his new ride to conserve fuel as he saw a small town appear ahead of him. MEL suddenly chiming in as he stopped and pulled out the scope he had found laying about on his way out of the old home of Cheesesteaks. Using the scope as a makeshift binocular as he looked towards the town. ~Still broadcasting big bro but I wanted to tell you satellite imaging details some abnormal activity in this area. Expect both Z's and survivors to be present and proceed with caution. Threat Level: Yellow~

"Understood." He needed to find someplace to stay before it got dark and he had already moved down into Virginia at least so the progress of his trip was already making headway. "Let's just hope someone is feeling hospitable today..." Wesley sighed before slowly continuing to walk into the town alongside his motorcycle which after using the tank he found was just at three quarters left. But just as he had begun, MEL chimed back in once more. ~Wesley! Good news!~ "MEL...you need to be doing as I-" ~Velkan's signal just got picked up! His vitals are also up and running. He's alive!~ She said in pure excitement with a dash of girlish giddiness. She always did hold a soft spot for him, plenty of women did it seemed. Regardless Wesley blinked in amazement having already dashed any and all hopes of anyone having survived the attack. The events of which were still fuzzy in his mind. He remembered the scientist coming to him as things went from worse to hellish and then everything went dark. It was a miracle he had survived being left out in the open like this. "Lead the way..." Wesley said with a growing mix of emotions. Maybe he would not have to get through all of this hell alone afterall.

"Vel?..." he called slowly nearing the position. Seeming to near an old general store that was a bit more on the backroads and not quite as much in the more densely populated sectors. "Trinket!" again he called in a hushed whisper as he slowly approached. Setting the bike a small distance away and holding his pistol in the low ready position as he focused on the small building. Quickly nearing the wall with silent footsteps as he could hear heavy movements in the back of the building as he slowly pushed inside the broken doorway. "I swear....if this giant is playing games..." he whispered to himself before turning the corner into the supply room of the store.

Hana steadily heaved the current bag over her shoulder as she found her gaze flickering in observation around her. In these current days, one truly couldn't be off guard.. Because if you were , it was risking your own life and not something she herself could truly afford. Currently , she was standing within a standard old fashioned colonial house on the outskirts of the city line and to be fair , it was safer out here then in the city where all the true monsters laid in wait for those less aware to the vast threat that laid there. She turned down the quiet hall as she caught a single glimpse of herself in the mirror.. Who was she in all this mess? Was she in a sense becoming a monster with the killing tallies she had stocked up on? She didn't want to be and yet with each kill… She felt less and less, what word could be used for it? Alive. She softly shook her head as her violet tresses swung against her back in the current high ponytail she had neatly seated atop her head as she crossed her way out the broken door entry to the warm of the sun beating down upon her face. Her emerald hues squinted as she slid her sunglasses into place on the bridge of her nose as she made her way to the large Jeep parked in the drive. Only then did she call out to those who had accompanied her." Time to head out , People! It will be getting dark soon and we know that is their favorite time to come out." A few heads bobbed out from several neighboring garages as they nodded and crossed out to their vehicles to head out.

Hana came around and was about to open the door as it swung open wide to reveal Kei with a bright smile and Zeke wagging his tail happily at his side from behind. Her features only softened at the sight of Kei as he spoke up slightly loud to her as he barely unaware of how loud he was."Ready to go , Mom?" She gave a nod and ruffled his paled blonde hair as he giggled, he couldn't hear her anymore so at times it was easier to simply respond with a nod ever since the incident. The pair wiggled back into their seats as she slid into the driver seat and eased the key to the ignition as she leaned her head out the window to smile over at Kida as she neared another vehicle." Keep it tight and in line. We don't want anyone getting broken up." She advised with a wink as she slid her aviators into place in cover to her gaze.With that, they drove bumpily down the road as she would glance back every now and then in her mirror to check on Kei as he watched happily out the window lost in his own little world. Oh , to be a child with that luxury.. She envied what he had and others could not.

As she turned to focus her gaze on the road , Kei sat behind her and eased a set of dog tags out from under his shirt as his small hand brushed with cautious gentleness over it as Hana saw the look that passed in his eyes. He wanted Wesley at her side and to be blunt.. She would give everything in the world that she could to give it to him. He then spoke without breaking his gaze from the tags in hand." Mommy? Will Daddy be coming back for us? He promised me he would... A-And that he'd make sure the world was safe for us.. Doesn't that mean he'll come back?" Hana felt her lower lip tremble slightly as she knew lying was all she could do as a mother to protect her son and her own breaking heart. She gave a simple yet soft smile as she nodded." Yes baby.. Daddy will be back before you know it. I promise you." Kei smiled as he saw the words his mom mouthed and simply whispered soft to himself." I miss daddy.." Hana clutched the steering wheel in sadness as she breathed deeply and continued the drive home.

All the cars pulled into the secluded gated area for them as she parked and Kei jumped out the back with Zeke in tow behind him as the german shepherd panted happily in delight as everyone else began to unload and she simply made her way inside as she caught sight of Kida up ahead as she gave a slow smile and came up behind the girl to clamp her hand light upon her shoulder as she spoke up from behind as to not startle her friend." The scavenging went quite well and without any issue on my end with the three towns to the Western border. Was everything held up okay here for you all?" She said as she stepped up to the girl's side to spare a look at her whilst Kei ran up the steps to be with the other children as the others began to unload the vehicles. Zeke barked out loudly for being left behind as he quickly chased after the children. He'd all but nudge at Kei's leg as he signaled his nearness to him as that spared a soft smile from Hana's look as she refocused her look upon Kida.

Percy blew a wayward strand of red hair out of his eyes as he hiked his backpack higher on his shoulders, his focus shifting from the dangling section of hair to the city skyline rising in front of him. He had been traveling tirelessly for the past months from his university to Georgia, having to double back after the infection became too much for him to contact his parents. Just thinking about how quickly Percy had lost everyone he loved made his heart wrench painfully in his chest.

Pushing down the almost-overwhelming feeling of grief, Percy clenched his teeth and stomped up the last bit of the hill he had been climbing. Coming face-to-face with the first road in weeks, the redhead surveyed it before stepping onto the smooth surface, shifting his red eyes to the horizon. Atlanta, Georgia, lay before Percy in a forest of concrete and glass.

Percy had heard of "Heaven" from fellow survivors over the past couple of months and he wasn't sure what to think of it. At first, all he could feel was relief. He would be safe from the zombies and any more terror and loneliness, but as time passed and word of carriers got around, Percy couldn't help but be suspicious of everyone. Then the concept of a safe-haven seemed inexperienced and naive, putting all of these people together in one place, an easy infection. All it took was one unsuspecting carrier before the entire city was running rampant with zombies.

Keeping an eye out along the sides of the road, Percy started toward the city. As much as his instincts screamed at him to stay away, he couldn't deny the fact that he was running low on supplies and was in desperate need of a good shower, which he was sure "Heaven" had if it was so talked-about. Gripping his bo staff from behind his back, Percy continued the trek along the highway into Atlanta to see what all the buzz about this safe-haven was about.

The black and white gelding's hooves clicked against the pavement as Jessie directed him along the broken down road that lead out off Tyler. Jessie tugged her black straw made Stetson hat down over her brow a bit more to shade her face from the sun's glare. Scout, her blue heeler mix, followed alongside them, his tongue lolling out of his mouth as he pant. Jessie couldn't blame him.

Everything seemed hotter and dryer after it all happened. For probably the millionth time, Jessie wished like hell she had a nice cold beer or something to wash down her dry throat. But her canteen of water would have to do and she had to made that last as long as possible.

Casino's ears perked forward at a rustling in the dry bushes just ahead of them. The hairs on Scout's back bristled and he gave a low growl. Jessie's hand went to the holster of her shotgun ready to pull it out if she needed it.

The rustling continued making Jessie tense until a golden brown jack rabbit came into view. Jessie gave a sigh of relief. She eyed the rabbit and wondered if she could bother taking it down. The jack rabbit wasn't very big, but there was enough meat there at least for her and Scout. Jessie's stomach rumbled at the idea. It had been so long since she had an actual meal.

Eventually, Jessie decided against it. She was a pretty decent shot and had no doubt that she'd be able to hit the rabbit, but she couldn't take the risk of alerting any Zs in the area to where she was.

"Guess it's your lucky day," Jessie said as she urged Casino on.

The cool air clung heavily to a female as she walked through the forest silently keeping her wits and senses about her. She looked around her as she slowly walked along the untraveled forest floor. The weather had seemed to grown a bit colder and she needed to find a place to settle in for a bit. Thankfully she came on a little cave alcove, she pulled her 45 and slowly stepped into the dark. Looking around with a black light, she saw nothing. Grabbing wood and setting up a fire, the female made some food for her and her companion. "Shadow" her soft voice called the dog, the animal came over and she set down a collapsible bowl. The animal scarfed down the food and lapped up the water. She pet the dog gently on the head and watched it settle in for the rest, the female leaned back on the rock wall as the warmth made it comfy. She faced the entrance and kept her hand on her weapon. This female took no chances.

Her eyes may be closed but any small noise and she be up in seconds. As she slept her mind drifted to another time when she wasn't alone, she was running with her friends. "Z wait up, your going to far." Her friends said as they went exploring in the forest out the back of the house. Z was laughing as she ran. She only stopped when a gun shot rang out in the air. Her heart pounding. She ran towards it, what had been killed. As she got closer Z hid in the bushes and peaked out to find that a hunter not killed a animal, a Male had shot another and seemed to be yelling down at the injured Male gun pointed at him as another shot rang out and Piercing scream rang in her ears. She crouched down her heart racing as the mans cries for the other Male to stop and he was sorry, the Male started to crawl for the bushes. He seemed to spot her and mouthed help me to her. Frozen, she wasn't sure what to do. As she went to do something the other male grabbed the injured male and slit his throat, the injured male had been reaching for her.

Still frozen in place she watched the life leave the Male as he bled out and the killer moved to look up and that's when she ran. Making her way through the underbrush and back the way she came. She had made it mostly home before stumbling over a root and catching her foot. She turned to see the killer running up gun pointed at her. She closed her eyes knowing it was the end. Last thing she heard was a click before she woke up and looked around. Her dog had his ears perked and she pulled her gun immediately. Her arms steady her sight trained as she watched, waited and listened. "Who's there?" She asked, her eyes cold and burning with a darkness, she grown accustomed to.

People, Zombies, and Alphas were not something she wanted near her. People because they got hurt near her, Zombies because they were abominations, and Alphas because they were evil and twisted forms of humans. Though they could be the closest thing she could get close to. Her gun was trained on the entrance, she glared as she heard growls and saw yellow, green, amber and many different colored eyes. She stepped next to her dog Shadow and kept her body tight and aware. She wasn't getting out of this. Her eyes locked on the entrance. When something moved she shot, it was preservational instincts.

When Vel looked up at the rising building in front of him he saw the sun was already high in the sky. "Dam, how long has it been?" He cursed in a hushed tone as he tried to calculate how long it had been since he was separated his Squad. Last time he saw any of them dawn was quickly approaching and they were getting swarmed by an unusually large horde. In an effort to save their charge, Scientists that were one of the last hope's for a cure, and his best friend Wesley. Velkan had rigged an explosion to separate the larger portion of the Z's from the main unit. Unfortunately in doing so he also separated himself from his Squad, he didn't have time to look for them with 10+ flesh bags on his heels so instead he took the opportunity to draw most of them away from the others and hoped Wesley would be able to get out safe. Taking his bike he used the noise to lure the Z's into chasing him.

Eventually Vel lost the horde but by that time he was miles from the Squad, instead ending up in front of a deserted Philadelphia.
"Aw man..." He groaned at the thought of entering the city. He hated it because cities were a hot spot to get caught by Z's in a confined space. But they were also prime meat for supplies and weapons. Sighing the soldier ran a hand through silver curls before checking his communicator that resembled a high-tech watch on his wrist, usually he would of just used it to try and contact Wesley by now but during the battle the device got damaged and refused to activate comms. His GPS still worked as well as his infrared scanner which was good but he was flying solo until he could either get it fixed or the others managed to find him via his GPS.

"Ok enough stalling dumbass." Vel chastised himself as he slowly road into downtown Philly. It didn't take long before the throng of abandoned cars was too much for even his bike to get through though so he had to park his baby in a nearby ally, covering it with some trash bags and broken pallets so it wouldn't get poached by someone in his absence. Having a vehicle that ran of any sort in this day and age was rare and highly sought after, even to the point of killing over. Hoisting his pack up on his shoulder Vel made sure it was secured so it wouldn't fall in case he had to make a break for it. Grabbing Cerberus, his 12 Gauge shotgun from its his holster on his back the large man made his way into the less populated area of the city. It was still dense but at least if he had to he could run back to his bike with relative ease rather than weaving through a bunch of alleys and buildings.

It was a few hours later when Velkan was rummaging through a small General Store when he heard the distinct sound of panting and groaning coming from the next room. 'Shit!' He mentally swore as he ducked behind the bloodied counter just in time for a Walker to stumble into the room. Its glazed eyes searching the area before going down one of the aisles. Taking a deep breath the hulk of a man managed to surprisingly silently sneak out and through the door the Walker came out of while it remained in the other room. He was in the supply room now, but as he crouch walked further in he realized two things. 1: He wasn't alone, 2 more Z's were feasting on a fairly fresh corpse toward the back of the room. 2: The god dam back exit was right next to them!

He was about to double back and try his chances with the single Z in the main room. Until he heard footsteps that did not belong to a Walker, at first he thought someone came looking for the person that was now serving as Dinner in the backroom. Tightening his grip on Cerberus he was prepared to defend himself in case either the unknown person attacked, something that wasn't unusual these days, or if the person alerted the Z's. So when he heard a familiar barking whisper, Vel blinked in surprise 'Wesley! He found him!' A big grin crept onto his face at the sound of his friend's voice. But he didn't dare respond back with the Walker's so close by, you never knew if one had enhanced hearing or not. So instead he made his way to the doorway between rooms and waited for Wesley to find him before they made their escape together. But since when does anything ever go according to plan?

As soon as Wesley came into the room he would find Velkan crouched beside the door, his emerald eyes staring up at his friend with a smile an a finger to his lips to signal silence. Less than a second later a piercing screech came from behind Wesley followed by 2 more screeches from behind Velkan as the Walker that spotted Wesley alerted the 2 that had been chowing down.
"Fuck!" In on fluid motion Vel rose to his full height, flipped his laser on, and took aim on the Zombie running for Wesley's back. Bang! Its head exploded into mist as Vel fired only a few inches from Wesley's head. Something he was sure he would hear about later but it was better than being Zombie Linguine.

@Pyralithia

Turning the corner into the next room, Wesley's pistol would aim dead center of the head of the crouched being in front of him with the hammer already pulled back. His gaze looking down and directly locked on Velkan who thankfully being the stand out character he was in both his hair and his ridiculous height were the main reasons he was able to pause himself from firing. Wesley's gaze held a look of relief but never lost their intensity nor did the emotion reach his face, instead giving more of a stored expression. The two would have more pleasant discussions of reunion later. Especially as he heard a screech at his back. This moment took so much of his focus he had made a rookie mistake of fully checking the area and could already hear the rapid movements behind him as he tried turning around with the knowledge he would not be able to stop his attacker. His eyes widening at the instance before he heard a loud bang right next to his hand that forced his hand to cover his ear out of instinct and pain. Sure yes a gunshot so close is never pleasant but with his experience he knew a small arms round was not supposed to feel so painful it was like the sound was magnified in his skull and it made Wesley slightly stumble into the room out of the way to recuperate before he shook his head while giving Velkan a cold dirty look as a small trickle of blood fell from his ear.

But with his next action he moved to Velkan's side and as the other two Z's scrambled in it was not difficult for the sniper to raise his weapon with a single hand and precisely fire two suppressed rounds into their skulls. The ringing still in his ear but slowly numbing out. "Always so graceful with you..." he groaned stepping back and leaning against the wall while still being on guard to the threat of other Z's possibly being nearby. If their were they would know from the loud gunshot otherwise they may just have found a moment of peace in their reunion. "How did you make it out..." he asked him as the details were still so fuzzy. Everything in their mission had hit the fan so fast. Despite his serious nature Velkan would know that simply was how he was and behind his tone he was clearly relieved he was still kicking.

@altai The roads that followed through the last city between Percival's location and Heaven at least by the rumors themselves stood deserted and cracked with ware. The city itself silent outside of the passing of a few crows that seemed to circle and eye the boy carefully as if he may become a new potential meal in the coming hours. The barren metro area had clear indication of being looted bare to it's bones as well as being heavily trampled by heavy machinery of somekind. Most hints of how this city would have initially handled the outbreak long gone as instead many buildings were properly demolished and most standing structures seemed to quite open to the elements letting passerby's see almost clearly through each building. One could assume if the rumors were true that the people of the refuge would have made sure this potential hive of infection was not teeming with hostile Z's nor the ability to come expectantly upon them. Regardless this city was open and offered little to Percival and his every step would echo to the wide empty space of the land.

Miles onward past the city into late day he would dare be able to see a small set of dimly beeping lights. Electricity running in the distance past a long open field that held an organized litter of destroyed vehicles and obstacles that were set up to act as barricades and detour units. Andas he would approach from the south, there was movement from the east. A convoy of vehicles, come clearly armored would make their way to one of the entrances and be halted before eventually being let inside. It was clear this place was a refuge of some. Perhaps...he had found it.

~~~
@Equusheart The roads leading out of Tyler were filled with foilage and woodlands. If there were no trees in her path it would be now deserted farm pastures and once sought after acres of farmland displaying beautiful homes and property which were now dozens of dark potential caves for Z's. Unclear if most had been looted or not Tyler had been a small but fast growing community where family came first. Those that had stayed had yet to show signs of their fate other than the straggling walkers Jessie would pass and groan in false greeting to her they slowly but harmlessly tried to follow her. Such a beautiful place fallen to ruin. Thankfully even with it's good size population it was sparsely distributed and there was no deadly clusters or swarms of the dead you would find in L.A., Dallas,or the major cities. But as she continued on she would catch the sight of a few mutts seeming to peek their heads out of the brush or darkerstreet ways before quickly turning away and the sense of being watched would begin to follow her.
~~
Elsewhere standing at one of the higher levels of a once skyscraper. A Alpha stood looking out over the wasteland remnants of this city. A hole exposing the room to the sky and letting the dark haired Alpha look out all around him. Despite the weather and the time of day he held a heavy jacket around his body and his solemn expression remained unchanged over the world. His red eyes scanning over each and every detail. This city was a death pit swarming with the walking dead. Small bands of humans currently being their meals that dared to try and loot this outpost of hell. Screams would lightly echo through the streets before the voice would be silenced in an instant. Not finding joy....or anything anymore about this.
"And what is going on in your precious head bird brain..." a malicious and cruel confident tone took behind the Alpha as a dark haired man but with eyes of slinted sulfur smirked. Another Alpha. "O don't keep me in suspense crowfather..." he chuckled coming over and putting a firm hand on his shoulder. The one called Crowfather tensed as his touch came which only delighted the other alpha further from the fear he could almost taste. "Where is our next meal...."
Crow would hesitate before answering. But knew how little patience this particular Alpha had. "To the south.....multiple groups of humans have made their way...."
"And any more of us....are there anymore friends we can make?" he said turning his evil dark orbs to Crow who swallowed and tensed further. "They move.."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

'58 of Amoxicillin 500mg, 163 of 250mg. 124 of Hydrocodone 5/325mg....' Kida's mind monotonously counted and categorized their prescription inventory in a special room where it could be kept locked away and secured. She had spent the better part of the day getting the medical inventory ready for when their scouting teams arrived with any new inventory they managed to scavenge. It was boring and tiring but it had to be done, plus it gave her a good excuse to keep an eye on their supplies. It seemed like more than once they ended up shorter than they should have which made her suspicious someone was stealing. Which wouldn't be a huge deal if it was minor medicine like Acetaminophen but the ones coming up short were pain killers like Hydrocodone and Oxi, two drugs known for their euphoria and addictive side effects.

Sighing the Arabic woman rolled her shoulders as she stretched back into her chair while a desk full of tablets laid out before her. The muscles in her neck and back were tight from leaning over so long so she decided it was time for a small break. Standing up Kida scooped up and placed the different tablets into their individual bottles before making her way to the door. Knock knock She gave two light taps to the door to signal she was coming out to the two guards stationed outside. Opening the door she stepped out before turning back around to lock it, the guards didn't say a word but instead gave her a simple nod. Not that she cared much, they were Vice Leader Dumont's men afterall and she trusted that creep least of all.

Exiting the building that use to be a small hometown bank, Kida saw the vehicles from the scouting team quickly approaching in the distance as dust pillowed out from their tires. She couldn't help the smile that came to her lips at the sight 'Please be okay Hanako..' she mentally prayed as she made her way to the lot where the vehicles were stored and unloaded. She could tell just from looking at the vehicles that it was a good haul, they were nearly brimming full of supplies. But that isn't what she was interested in now, she was looking for a beautiful woman with raven hair and a little boy with golden locks. Woof! The familiar sound of a bark sounded from behind her causing the blue eyed woman to whip around in search of the creature she heard. To her relief she spotted Kei walking over to a group of other kids while Zeke trailed not far behind.

So when a hand suddenly clamped down on her shoulder Kida nearly jumped out of her skin at the sudden contact. With a small gasp her gaze snapped up to see Hanako giving her a friendly smile. "Phew...Hanako are you trying to give me a heart attack??" She scolded the older woman playfully as she caught her breath with a hand to her chest. Though it wasn't Hanako's fault Kida was always a bit on the jumpier side which was another reason she preferred long range combat versus close combat, less surprises. "I'd say, looks like you guys brought half the towns with you. Good job Han I'm glad all went well." She congratulated her friend and technical boss with a sweet smile. A smile that faded ever so slightly a moment later when Hanako asked how it went on her end. "It's been relatively quiet, though I do have a few worries with the drug inventory, specifically pain killers. But nothing that can't wait until later. How is Kei doing? He seems full of energy as ever, Zeke too." She ended her question with a small giggle as Zeke proceeded to chase one of the children in a circle around Kei as he tried to catch the stick the child was holding. Her gaze softened at the sight even though they weren't related and she really hadn't known him long, Kida loved Kei like her nephew and Hanako like a sister, they were her family in this merciless world.

Hana couldn't resist the grin that came to befit her lips as Kida jumped at the touch she stole to her shoulder. She made no hesitation to loose her hand from the firm hold she held in contact to her shoulder as she parted her touch away. "Well I mean thankfully you've taught me what to do in that situation. So, if it does happen.. Consider yourself lucky." She quipped to her in a playful tone as Hana brushed a hand through her loose raven locks as someone called out to her in that moment. Her head would roll off to the side as two large men currently carried large barrel's that held sealed."Take that up to the barracks and inform Sergeant Melrose that he has the hand crafted Explosive Powder that he wanted from the infamous paranoid shut in that he wanted. On a side note, tell me he owes me a new engine for my truck for his little friend going trigger happy on men because he was having a grumpy ass mood." She called out to them as Rogers bellowed out in a hearty laugh as she smirked briefly to them before turning her look once more upon Kida.

"Well, we were able to collect from two of the neighboring towns. Able to pull apart several cars for parts and also were able to round up from several of the farms various animals including eight more horses for scouting missions." She said with the cock of her head to that of two large trailers beginning to unload several cattle and smaller livestock whilst the neighboring one began to unload the horses. Her look would than shift over the vehicles and large van being unloaded of items as she gestured to her own SUV."Thanks, I'm glad it went smoothly this time unlike the last one.. I did manage to raid a local vet clinic and small hospital whilst I was there for you so fresh items for nobody to loot into this time about." She stated clearly to her in warning as she nodded for Kida to walk with her as they wandered over to her vehicle itself. A clouded expression came to coat her vibrant hues in thought."That is still concerning and something you need to be raising to the Council, Kida.. It is no joke when inventory continues to vanish and along the lines of items we can use in times of need." She answered thoughtfully to her in thought as she glanced off to the side to look upwards at the sight of Jackson watching her from the balcony on the estate hillside. Hana couldn't help the disgusted look that painted over her features as she turned her look back to the vehicle as she leaned in to rummage through. These were the times she found herself wishing Wesley was here.. He'd know how to handle someone like him when she herself wasn't in a position to do much. A sigh would befall from her lips as she stole her look back to Kida as she smiled softly."He is always an energetic ball of life.. Always has been but, I'd say that is his normal way of life. Zeke helps him to feel like he is still a normal kid without... A disadvantage." She answered with a heavy heart as a faint smile danced over her lips as she breathed in and spoke up again."Think I could bring him by for another examination soon to look over him again? I'd rather be safe to make sure his hearing won't worsen more than it has." She said simply as she hoisted a bin against her hip as she gazed out to watch Kei giggling as he waved one of Zeke's toys back and forth before him. His happy barks filled the air as her look softened at the sight. If Wesley was only here to see him... She thought in the silence of her own mind to sift her look over Kida with warmth."You didn't destroy the house to much while I was away though? When you get buried in work you can become such a messy roommate." She winked with a tease as she strode forward towards their shared house as she nudged the gate open with her hip.

~ Harley Osiris ~

- - - - -

Harley pulled the half empty water canister from the side compartment of her worn backpack. Her eyes scoured the area, her eyes shifting from one abandoned vehicle to the other, looking for any movement, any sign of danger. She took a much needed swig of water, swirling it round her mouth before swallowing. According to the road signs she was passing she had just crossed into Georgia from Alabama..finally, she had walked most of the night, as uneasy as that made her feel. But since she was walking along the highway everything was pretty quiet and empty. Lots of broken down and abandoned cars made it so the road was only passable on foot, or perhaps something on two wheels, but Harley was satisfied to just take her time, dragging her feet along the asphalt.

To her right she noticed an upcoming exit, a road sign informed her the Visitor centre was coming up. She paused, looking at the large blue sign. Next to the welcoming message was a simple drawing of a brightly coloured peach. The sign would definitely look much more welcoming had it not been splattered in old dried blood but well..it is what it is, she thought and walked on, her attention moving to the right. It was unlikely to find anyone here since the visitor centre is in the middle of nowhere pretty much but that doesn't mean she shouldn't have her guard up. The stray walker always appeared here and there.

Ideally she would have rather kept walking but she was running low on supplies, plus it would be nice to get inside for a little bit and get a break from this heat. Hopefully she could find some water there too...her canister was running low. Plus, it's bound to have a good map there, so she could plan her next steps and maybe get a couple of winks too.

She entered the premises carefully and silently, the knife in hand and her body crouched low. It took a little while but soon enough she had the place cleared and at least three escape routes planned out should anything or anyone appear. With her safety guaranteed at least for now she dropped her pack to the floor and fell back onto the sofa in the main room of the centre. There were tons of leaflets scattered about but other than untidy the place didn't really look like it's been touched, something rather rare to come across these days. She had already spotted some snacks and cans of fizzy juice laying around back by the vending machines, but those could wait for now. Right now her body wasn't gonna move, not even if she willed it to. This was the first soft surface she had laid on in a week, her body sank into the crappy couch and all of her muscles just relaxed. Her eyes slowly shut, she was unable to keep them open, she was still fighting against the urge to sleep thought it was getting much harder with every second she lay there.

Relying only on her hearing she listened closely, the only sound being the one of her breathing. Her chest rose and fell rhythmically and against her better judgement she ended up falling into a light sleep.

A couple hours had passed when Harley was abruptly woken from her slumber. She had rolled over in her sleep, reaching the edge of the sofa and landing on the dusty floor with a hard thud. She groaned, rubbing the back of her head as she sat up. Harley quickly realised what she had done, clambering up from the floor and dusting herself off. "Fuck sake Harley..." she muttered under her breath. "It's like you want to be walker lunch.." she shook her head and began to search the place thoroughly, room by room. Now Harley wasn't crazy, it had however been quite a while since she last talked to another human, really she couldn't remember the last time she held a full conversation with someone....it must have been back then...when her mother...

She shook her head quickly, brushing her unruly hair from her face as she walked up to the vending machine. "Let's not go down that memory lane..." she sighed, picking up a couple of crisp packets from the floor. Not exactly the ideal nutritious meal but better than going hungry. The vending machine was mostly empty, though there were some cans of juice and chocolate bars stuck in there. Harley had to just find a way to get them out. Leaving that corner she began looking around all the drawers behind the desk and in the staff room, and it took some time but surely enough she found a set of keys, one of which was bound to open the vending machine for restocking.

Once she gathered all the supplies she could find she laid them out on the coffee table by the sofa, sitting down with an unfolded leaflet that had the map of Georgia on it. Looking at her loot, if she rationed it well it was easily three to four days. Plenty enough to get her into a bigger city where she could do some more serious looting. Her attention turned to the map, initially she was going to head to Atlanta, however, that was a big city.....and big cities mean big trouble. With a sigh she began looking around her location on the map, if there were some smaller villages she could hit first that would be better, those usually had houses abandoned and unlooted since the families just up and left, or...they were still there just not...themselves. She decided it would be best to do that at first, no point in risking it in the big city without need.

Harley put all her loot away and decided to take one more quick look around the place for anything she missed. After she left through the front door like before, heading back out towards the main road. Before she got anywhere though she paused by some picnic benches, there was a large notice board there with a map on one side, what drew her attention was the large red markings on it. Savannah was circled on the map, the word "Haven" written next to it. "Haven...." she muttered, squinting her eyes at it. She had heard that before, but she couldn't quite remember where. Harley decided to keep that in mind as she headed back to the main road, in the direction of the first town on the way to Atlanta.

SILVY KITSON

The night was long and stressful as the icy blonde stretched her arms above her head as she walked back into Haven, towards the comforts of a warm bed for a good slumber since she was on watch all night for anything that appeared. Thankfully the night was silent, although at times that wasn't a good thing either. With her baton and knives attached at her hip with the belt, she had made herself to carry them, she started to unbuckle it when she heard some chattering up ahead. Looking up from her buckle, she caught glimpses of four silhouettes, two larger ones and two small ones. As she continued to move closer, it was evident that it was Hanako with Kei and Zeke, their dog, standing beside Kida. Kida and Silvy had become good friends ever since she arrived at Haven, so much so that Silvy had become accustom to also scaring the poor woman.

Coming into the line of sight for both Hanako and Kei, she gestured to them with a finger at her lips, indicating to them to not let Kida know she was around. Being quiet with each step she took that when she was within range, she snaked her arms around the waist of her friend and rested her chin on one of her shoulders. "Kida~" She sang as she closed her eyes, completely relaxing her body as if she was dead weight upon the slightly smaller female. "Will you carry me to my bed?" She suggested for a moment before waving her hand at the smaller unit of the Dawson family. "Hello Hanako. Kei!" Pulling away from her ebony friend, she crouched down to give the young blonde child a hug. Children revitalized her, but she knew it wasn't enough to actually keep her awake.

Unwrapping her arms from the petite body, Silvy reached over to pet Zeke for a few moments before slowly getting up from her position. The cracks of her bones could be heard as she stood up, notifying those around her that she had to have been in a very uncomfortable position through the night as she kept watched. "So still nothing about those two?" She mentioned as she brought her attention to Hanako, who seemed to be distracted by someone in the distance. Taking a look in the direction, it was clear that she had been staring at Jackson. Personally Silvy didn't know Jackson that well, but it was clear that Hanako didn't like the male very much at all. Remembering the weight around her waist that she wanted to removed, she started unbuckling the belt once again to relieve the feeling of being dragged down. "Before I head off to sleep, I wanted to make sure if there was anything you needed me to do?"

Cleo Rikeland

" Drip... Drop... How sweet the sound of fallen blood sounds..."

Uttered a soft voice from the shadows of the small houses that held as her cover as a single limb was tossed forward. It would skid across the cracked concrete as blood splattered from each impact. The individual she spoke to held in militaristic uniform as fear bore strong against his look as he skirted back in a stumble." Y-You're a Monster..." He sputtered out as sweat and shed tears clung to his dirtied face as a soft chuckle would ring forward in an entertained nature." Now, that isn't to far off from what I'd say I am.. But, I rather adore this little gift that natural selection decided should be mine." The feminine voice uttered as she moved from the shadows as her black leather jacket swung freely against her body as the man gained full sight over her. One could define her as a fair beauty whilst others would merely have to look into her eyes to see but the purest of reasons she was deemed monstrous. Those crimson orbs.. They all but danced with true amusement over the man as she neared him and would slowly crouch down to meet his eye level. A sharp inhale would befall the man's mouth as he made a move to scramble as he grasped his wound. Suddenly, he'd feel her lunge forward as she pinned him to the ground. Her sharpened black nails would all but press into his wound as blood raced quicker down his chest. Cleo's eyes nearly glistened as she inhaled the euphoric scent that sent shivers down her spine." It's curious.. I've noticed blood always smells sweeter when fear is running through the veins. And your blood... God your blood makes me want to eat you alive.." She whispered out in a darkened purr as her tongue would lower to drag over the fallen blood. Her body would all but arch back as she edged a finger over her lower lip as she moaned softly as he could feel her small grind into him. The man's thoughts were everywhere at that moment as he found himself unsure of how to react to this being. They had been informed their were beings of higher intelligence and yet, he hadn't believed it.

Cleo would break from her euphoric state of mind as she sighed in subtle disappointment. Her head would give a small roll off to the side as she sought the man's look in that moment." Pity... That it won't be me getting to eat you alive." She said in genuine sadness to such as she leaned in close to brush her lips in taste to his bloodied ones." I promised my children a meal and you will certainly have to do. Consider it an honor to die at the hands of them.." Cleo said as the man's confused daze searched her look." Children...?" He said in confusion only to have such answered as the growls echoed around him. Several large exotic cats leaped down from fallen rubble from that of several cars as he could make out lions, tigers, jaguars, panthers and various others species watching." No...No... Please.." He begged out to her as she looked with instant disgust upon him." You ungrateful being... To think I was considering granting you death before they ate you. I think it better for you to savor the feel of them tearing into every inch of you now.." Were the final words Cleo would offer to him as she lifted off of him and stole a look over her children.

" Feed, My precious ones.."

At that command, the large cats leaped upon the man as his screams pierced the surrounding camp as Cleo ruffled a hand through her dark locks. Her gaze would move over the devoured carcasses that held strewn over the grounds as she walked forward as her heels clicked to the concrete. As she would prepare to exit the area, the sight of several small movements could be seen behind the rubble as the frightful gazes of children found her own. The one thing she would never touch... The one blood she refused to let pass her lips was the blood of a child. That vow resounded within her mind as she merely smiled and blew a small kiss their way as she began her departure from the small town. Moments would pass as her children would begin to pad in trail behind her as she stole her look back over them softly. Yet, she would be paused in her tracks as she gazed over the city line that held ahead as a smirk would dip against her lips." At last.. I have found them.." She whispered with a mere grin stamped against her lips as she moved forth to journey to the city.

An hour would come to pass as she neared the city as a single Alpha stood at the entry with several dingo's around her. Her look would glower over her as she called out." Stop where you are now.. This territory is not permitted for you to enter!" She warned as Cleo would merely laugh as she charged forward as the lower Alpha barely had a moment to think as Cleo's fingers grasped hard onto her face. Soft clicking sounds came to illicit from her lips as the woman's black eyes flickered in panic back and forth." Now, Now.. Is that how you welcome a guest? I am merely here to seek out the males I have heard of and especially... The exquisite one whom leads you all.." She purred out as her eyes would glow a pure crimson color." Now, let's go report to him and tell him all about your terrible manners." The Alpha submissively bobbed her head against her grip as Cleo grinned broadly and pushed the girl forward under her grip.

It only took some mere moments for the girl to direct her into the wrecked skyscraper as Cleo followed suit as she pushed her up the stairs. As they neared the area, she would shove the girl forward hard enough that she would crack into the wall as she crumpled to the floor. A soft sigh would escape her lips as both Alpha's could hear the exhale as she emerged casually into sight as delight painted her crimson hues." Oh yes.. I found you at last.. The one that all fear and pledge themselves to. I can understand why with that dark and sinister look.." She purred out softly as she boldly neared the men as her hand would edge forth to brush over the dominant Alpha's cheek as she stole a look over the other man." You have such a familiar scent to other Alpha's I have smelled in my territory, but this one..." Cleo paused and bore her crimson hues in seductive curiosity over the Alpha." You exude power I have never smelled or tasted before.. And I wanted to know more.." She whispered out to him as she boldly without fear placed herself between these men.

As Velkan fired Cerberus he knew Wesley wasn't going to be happy with him, he would of shot his pistols instead if he had them drawn but given Cerberus was already in his hands he didn't have time to switch with the zombie running for full for Wesley's back. Still the sight of his best friend wincing and covering his ear from the pain made Vel's stomach tighten a bit and his emerald gaze showed sincere remorse as they met his friends. But there was no time for words as screeches sounded from his own backside from the two other Z's thats meal had be interrupted, luckily Wesley was still stable enough to get off a smooth shot into each skull before resting against the wall.

Meanwhile Vel sighed as he cocked his shotgun while glancing over the re-dead zombies on the floor. "Well I couldn't very well the Zombie's take a chunk outta your ass, if I brought you back to Hanna anything less than pristine than she's gonna take a chunk out of mine." The taller man teased with a lighthearted grin, always optimistic even in this crappy situation. But the smile faded ever so slightly as his gaze traveled over Wesley's more or less beat up form. "I rigged an explosion that mostly separated you guys from the horde...Unfortunately to do so I had to be on the side of the horde. So I used it to my advantage and made the bastards chase me on my bike so you guys could get to safety...Didn't lose them until I was outside this place, Philly by the looks of it." He explained in a much more serious tone as he noted the confusion in Wesley's eyes, maybe he had a concussion? That would explain the lack of knowledge, plus it was a chaotic battle.

After a pause a look of concern veiled of Velkan's face as he moved closer to his friend. "Are you okay? I tried to make contact but my communicator is busted. What happened to the rest? Are they waiting somewhere safe?" He questioned as he felt more out of the loop than anyone at this point. Though seeing Wes alive and mostly healthy...It felt like a 2 ton weight had been lifted off his chest.

Percy hated the way the city street exposed him so. The ground was cracked and littered with weeds, evidence of the months of disuse and lack of care. Everywhere he looked was the perfect ambush for a hoard and it made Percy's skin crawl. Gripping his bo staff even tighter to ground himself, the redhead began dashing softly from shadow to shadow, trying to stay as hidden as he could in the demolished city.

Briefly Percy debated abandoning Atlanta altogether and going around the massive concrete jungle. However it was the quickest way through to "Heaven" if the location was correct. Percy was in too much of a dire need of supplies to risk weeks longer to go around Atlanta. Remembering all of his training as a child, Percy's instincts were on high alert. This was the most cautious he had been in weeks, as rural Georgia wasn't as dangerous as the roads and broken buildings closer to cities and towns.

Absentmindedly noticing the flock of crows flap overhead, Percy trekked farther into the city, making slow work winding underneath the highway overpasses and some of the smaller, demolished buildings on the outskirts of the city. It would take time for him to reach this "Heaven" he thought so unkindly toward, but at this point Percy felt as if he didn't have much of a chance surviving by himself for much longer either.

Keep running. Don't stop. Don't look back.

Calina's heart was pounding in her chest with every step and all she could hear was her own breath and the menacing sounds from behind her. She'd dodged and ducked with all her might, using her former high school track skills and current gymnastic skills as well as she could. The white-haired woman had been running since she'd heard the explosion from a few blocks over. A small horde of walking corpses had kept her from moving from the small building she'd temporarily found shelter in, but the explosion changed everything. It meant people and she hadn't seen a living person for nearly two weeks.

Something caught Calina's foot and she fell down with a loud hiss. Her knees and hands scraped against the debris covered asphalt, scraping them slightly and drawing blood. Cursing to herself as she scurried to her feet, she could feel tears form in the corners of her eyes but she knew she couldn't give up. She had to keep running, even if her legs were on the verge of getting out. Even if the sounds of hungry demons was getting louder and louder.

She began running again. Her sneakers stomped against the ground and she was extra careful on where she stepped. One more misstep and that would be the end of her. She had to lose them somehow, so she skidded towards some ruined buildings. Calina parkoured through some of the pillars and obstacles that lay in her path, avoiding any dangerous protrusions as she did so. She could hear the sound of screeching behind her and a small smile formed on her lips. It sounded like they were struggling to get through the small crevices that she so easily maneuvered through. Unfortunately, she knew that would only slow them down. There's no telling when they'd eventually catch up to her again.

SCREEEEECH.

The athlete let her guard down again as her food slipped on some metal. The sheet went skidding across the concrete as the sound echoed slightly throughout her surroundings. Panicked, Calina paused and looked around, fearful that she attracted another walker. Her fears were confirmed when she saw one making its way down the alley… and rather quickly too.

"Shi-" Calina began as she darted. The buildings were beginning to mesh together, but it looked like she was in the downtown area. She hoped and prayed that the explosion truly meant people were nearby. If not, she was screwed.

"Please," Calina said loudly enough only those within a few feet could hear her, "if anyone is out there... please say something." And then her legs finally gave out.

Wesley still held his hand over his ringing ear in obvious discomfort. Taking a moment to hold against the wall and taking a moment to recuperate. Vel's words made sense at least. How else would he have been lucky enough to have survived laying out in the open like he did. Meeting his friend's eyes he knew he owed him a big one. Not as if saving each other's ass was anything new. But still his focused gaze held little room for warmth for the present moment after the brief flash of relief at seeing Vel alive and kicking.

"Well you are already falling behind on 'pristine' Vel..." he groaned removing his hand from his ear as it still held a painful dulled ringing sound. Looking to his palm a small pool of blood came along with it. He could already tell his hearing was greatly reduced but he did not blame him considering the situation. "Maybe next time stick with your handgun....after all Cerberus barks loud enough to wake up all of Hades." he said taking a breath while Wesley shook his head with a knowing look. "The mission was a failure. All of the VIPs are missing. I only have a small trace of the last known location of one of them but at this rate we both know they are gone. Only thing remaining is a small case in my pack. I suggest we get that somewhere we can trust at some point. Hopefully someone can make use of it."

"The only reason I found you is because MEL was able to pick up your signal. But I think she is just being polite instead of saying how easy it was to spot a meat headed trigger happy giant."
he said with a seemingly annoyed look in his eyes but one Vel would know was only a tease as a small smile lined his lip for a fragment of a moment. "It is good to have you back. Try not to blow out my other ear." he said moving to the window.

"MEL. Is the signal going through?"

"Yesssss Sirrr!" MEL said cherry as always. "Right now it is only patching into the more open and surface level channels but I am still working on optimizing it to spread out further and more effectively. But until then.....hmmmm That's strange."

"What is it?"

"I am picking up a surge of movement and activity back downtown."

"That does not matter.."

"Wesley it's someone crying for help..." Mel said holding a genuinely concerned shift of tone.

"Far too dangerous, we can't just go back into the pit for every survivor still hanging around."

"Wesley..." she said starting to get pouty before instead just playing the audio she was receiving.

"Please.... Anyone?! If anyone is out there just respond....Please...." she sounded clearly exhausted and young panicking to no end.

"Wesley...."

Wesley was frozen knowing this was one of their worst plans of action but as he looked as if he was about to deny it again.

"Relay this to her. Tell her to head south as quickly as she can out of the city. If she finds herself cornered, head into shelter and barricade everything but keep her radio on." he said looking to Vel. This could very well be a looter trap, they had ran into a few of those these last few months already. "Ready to adopt?" he said already moving out of the building heading to their bikes and ready to head North back into the city that only promised death.

To be honest Wesley still questioned why he was doing this. Somewhere in his mind, the girl reminded him of Melissa. A young woman who no doubt had the same sense of panic and someone he was unable to protect.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kida rolled her eyes at her friend, Hanako overestimated her medical skills but the fact that she had such faith in her underling was both heartwarming and nerve wracking. Stifling a giggle behind her hand as Han spoke to a squad member about their run-in with a shut-in for powder. Following after her as they headed toward Han's vehicle her smile fading as the subject of the missing medication came up once again. She nodded "I know... Jackson has already set up obnoxious guards around the storehouse. It seems to have stopped since then but on the otherhand I'm also worried for whoever it is...If they were to get caught..." She physically flinched at the thought of what would happen to the poor soul.
When she saw Hana's gaze wander upward she followed it to find the very man she just mentioned leering down at them. A disgusted shiver ran down her spine that she shook off. "Speak of the devil.... Do you think he would mind if I gave him an amputation? I mean one good shot.... I'm sure he wouldn't miss them." Kida teased to Hana with an evil gleam to her eyes as she grinned and made a snipping motion with her fingers before grabbing a bag of goods from the car and walking along with her friend towards their home.
At the mention of Kei she could see the shadows descend over the raven haired woman's face if even for an instant and she felt her heart clench at the pain she couldn't imagine her friend was going through. "Of course Hana, whenever you like I'll look him over. I'm sure he's doing great though, he's tough just like his mamma!" She encouraged with a light smile right before she was suddenly entangled by a pair of slender arms and her heart jumped into her throat once more as she gasped in surprised. It only took her a moment to realize who the perpetrator was but by then the adrenaline was already pumping, her cheeks flushing a light pink she scowled over at her other friend, Silvy. "You devil woman! I swear you two are determined to send me to Duat!" She scolded the scarlet eyed girl but there was no true annoyance to her tone as she gently patted Silvy's head. It didn't take long until Silvy was on to her next victim as she spotted Kei and Zeke.
Shaking her head Kida couldn't help the smile that came to her lips as she watched the fair haired beauty, her heart starting to pound once more but for an entirely different reason altogether. Her thoughts came to a steaming halt though when Silvy suddenly mentioned Wesley and Velkan, internally cringing she shook her head from behind Hanako so she wouldn't see and made a zipping of the lips motion with her hand toward Silvy. "Umm....I'm sure their fine! Probably getting into all kinds of trouble as those two do but they always make it out safe and sound!" Kida quickly interjected with a big encouraging smile before continuing on the way to their house. "Ay! I'm not that bad.... There's nothing growing at least." She defended her messiness with sarcasm but in all honesty she knew Hanako would be arriving soon so she cleaned up the house nice and neat the previous night as a surprise for her.
