It was sunny, just like most mornings the sky was blue and the clouds fluffy like marshmallows. The small conjuring of trees that make a forest surrounded the backside of the academy so the light of the sun glared through the green leaves. Zekiel sat on the small stone wall that ran around the fountain to catch his breath from running. After catching breath he leaned back, palms firmly placed behind him on the stone and his head tilted back, his eyes closed he let the gentle breeze hit him and the sweet sounds of the birds flow through his ears. It was peaceful, but like all things a end to this lovely moment was nearing its deadline. A bright red light emitted from the top of the trees and a sound of growling echoed, a strange noise different from that of the wolves that took residence here at the academy. Zekiel, noticing these different growls immediately shifted his head towards the direction it was coming from, as the shift happened so did the temperature; the fountain began to boil, the rock eventually turned a gray color and cracked. Surprised by the sudden change of atmosphere, Zekiel, jumped from the stone wall around the fountain and immediately noticed another change around him, the flowers that were planted by the teachers and students suddenly burst into flames and emitted a light that couldn't be ignored by anyone whom decided to look outside at that moment.

Another tragedy had sprung up that followed shortly after the bursting flames on the flowerbeds. A light that had been emitting from the trees now drew closer with every second, a erupting noise echoed loudly from the distance and became even more loud with time. It didn't take long for the mysterious figure to emerge from the forest and show itself to be a large assemblage of black rock and lava that had a outer layer of flames. Before Zekiel could wrap his head around the situation he was thrown into the giant conjuring of lava that had the appearance of a fireball connected with the upper half of the academy, a large explosive eruption followed after the landing that took out more than 25% of the school.

With impact Zekiel covered himself from the light with his jacket, kneeling to the ground to let the coat take most of the damage. As he stood up all he could see was the burning remains of the schools second floor, the flames and black smoke clearly visible by miles. Although Zekiel's eyes were full of flames his mind was full of hope, hope that the children of the academy was alive.

The sound of footsteps made Zekiel awaken from his daydreams of hope and once again flung into a nightmare, two hellish creatures walked from the shadows. Wolves similar to the ones at the academy but slightly smaller stood right outside of the forest, although, that's what Zekiel thought he saw. The constant flames that had surrounded him due to the multiple burning flowerbeds and gardens located all around the backyard of the academy had conjured such a large amount of flames, high enough and big enough to slightly blur the vision of Zekiel. It was through imagination and clueless guessing that he'd assumed these creatures were of the Tier Two level, flames seemingly had already engulfed these creatures as their torso bones visible and the flames wrapped around them. These wolves had bright red teeth and eyes and smoke, constantly emitting from the sides of their mouths were probably due to the massive fireball that was shot here before.

wildfire_by_grypwolf-d8fz9jm.png

After the wolves arrived something else emitted from the forest, this time very vague. Multiple shadowy and black figures walked out from between the trees and stood behind these wolves...

200_s.gif

These figures were obviously human, mages perhaps. Dressed in unison with black robes and silver masks that formed around each facial feature. One of them stood out from all the rest, stood in front of everyone else in the middle ground, yet behind all of the flames he raised his arms and chanted with a deep male voice..

'' Here, we stand, in front of the falsehood of our realm, here, with our dagger we shalt eliminate our enemies. Please give us strength our lord, we are your warriors, give us your will our lord, we are your messengers! Hail our real overseers, hail those that guide us to truth, punish those that had wronged you our king, our savior, Osmon, the Great! ''

With unison the others in black followed in chant, mumbling words from a ancient language no one knew. Through the heavy flames Zekiel counted, five individuals in black. The leader soon after the chant he screamed took out a dagger from his long cloak and proceeded to walk backwards behind one of his fellow cultists, with one cold yet silent stroke of the blade across the neck of one of his fellow members that individual dropped dead without any struggle as if it was welcoming to die. The blood from the body rushed in front of them all where the leader once stood and among the blood arose one more hellish wolf. With one more chant the leader yelled with open arms,
''Behold our power our lord granted to us! Fear us, for this world is ours and not yours to rule!''

Sun was quietly shining, giving a nice reflection on... Maxim's clumsy sleeping face. Max was laying on the bed, dreaming about his father and mother marrying again.

"Yes, now, you can kiss the- alarm clock?!" He muttered, looking on clock, which was standing on table.
"God damnit!" He yelled, quickly jumping out of his bed, and rushing towards wardrobe. The first time he got late for a lesson! Miss Petit will be so angry!

When finally dressing up, boy took slice of bread, poured some unknown sauce he just found in the fridge, and ran out, eating it. It wasn't so bad though - what was that sauce? Anyways, boy quickly speeded up to academy, frightened by reaction of Miss Petit to lateness of himself.

"Blyat!" Young man yelled, as some yearly couple jumped away in fear. He forgot his homework! How idiotic can this turn out?! Eventually, man was able to quickly run in, and jump out with everything needed. He looked around while running, trying to spot someone who could see him - no one. As he dashed towards the fence, he quickly climbed on it, running towards the lamppost on it. When finally near, Max highly jumped on lamppost, already seeing school's building.

"Okay, now I only have t-" Eventually, he heard series of growls and saw a powerful flame. His eyes widened, as he quickly formed arm symbol of rhombus, spreading arms out. Pair of beautiful and nearly transparent water wings rose out of Maxim's back, spreading out in their full length.

"Why all this idiocy is happening to me" Maxim muttered, jumping off lamp post and flying towards back of academy.

"Ya know in retrospect at least my grade in here is still an A. Though my choices in life are definitely and F so far." The previously tired and sleepy young man had now been flung across the room, and was currently covered in varying sizes of derbies. In hindsight he probably should have done more than shout, "Fuck is that?", As he watched a rather impressive fire ball get launched towards the classroom, but hey mistakes happen and he was paying for his. He could feel pain through circulating through his entire body, as he felt his body screaming at the slightest hints of movement. Thankfully he didn't feel like he broke anything, but from the way his clothes were becoming damp he could obviously tell he was bleeding in quite a few areas. Figuring that he might as well make at least an effort to get out, and pay whoever that did this to him back for daring to try and bury him alive. "Jeez this day could...shut up Gal you'll only make it worse with that curse of a statement."

He could feel his whole being crying out for him to stop and just lie down and give up...but then again he didn't know what that word meant. Pushing the smallest portions off first before trying to even strain himself on the bigger bits it would probably take him a few minutes of work. Still he pushed onward and managed to be able to climb out himself, and see the current state of the classroom. Though his first objective was to check outside near his, now destroyed, former seating area was. What he saw outside look like one of his nightmares as it seemed like the entire campus was in flames. Looking downwards he saw something that almost stopped his heart..his poor little lonely rose had been lit aflame by whoever had caused this. He only was able to see it because he made sure to plant it off to the side alone, and near his window where he could watch its conditions like a careful parent. Seeing it burn made his mind come towards a singular conclusion: Whoever was responsible would burn the same, exact way. Not being of sound mind and never the planning type he decided to head out into the hallway and try and find a way down towards the courtyard.

Maxim was almost there, several more meters... when fireball flew into campus, completely setting it aflame and nearly damaging it. Boy just stopped in air, looking on the campus. Wings disappeared, and he crashed down, right near fountain.
"... Not, today" Max said, moving his arms down, like he was breaking some metal pipe. Another movement, another and another. Fountain started to tremble because of intense water pipe pressure, and... powerful jet of water rose out of fountain, shooting itself into most part of burning campus. Some flames extinguished, and some smoke got away, but some small parts of campus were still aflame. Maxim understood that he doesn't have much time.

"Anyone there?!" Max yelled hardly, rushing towards doors of campus, and running on second floor. They had to be alive!

It seemed it was finally time for them to settle down and begin class for the day as Ms. Petit introduced Tore to them all then called for their homework. Kirie smiled kindly at Tore as he said his hellos before making his way to a seat. She thought it would be good for Hiro and herself to introduce themselves to Tore when they got a chance to later. She was sure this must all be incredibly weird for him plus the stress of attending a new school.

Ms. Petit again grabbed the attention of the class as she detailed what they would be doing for the day. Kirie grinned at the mention of magic. It had been some time since they had last practiced as a group, she was pretty excited to show off what she had been working on with her summoning. Hiro of course had seen it since the two of them often practiced together after class, but she wanted everyone else to see it. Kirie had already laid her homework out on her desk and patiently waited for Ms. Petit to come around and collect it, turning her attention to her friend beside her.
"Hey Kirie, mind waking me up when something important happens?"
She rolled her eyes and couldn't help but to laugh. "Really Hiro? We're at school, everything is important!" Sometimes he really frustrated her because she knew he had so much potential if he would only apply himself. Kirie poked him gently in the side, the gesture suggesting that she would keep him awake for the entire class period if she could help it. Temperance would probably be better at keeping him awake though, Kirie couldn't imagine how anyone could sleep around that girl.
But it seemed neither of them would have to worry about that.

A bright orange glow shone in through the window accompanied by the familiar sound of a crackling fire. Only it was more like a roar as all the flowers and trees went ablaze. The light and noise caught Kirie's attention, her sharp blue eyes flickered over to the window to take in what was happening."Oh my god..." There was really nothing more she could say and she rose to her feet and walked over to the window in almost trance like state. Other students had noticed the ruckus and began gathering by the window, fearful gasps and whispers floating among them. All the greenery around the school was on fire. What in the hell was happening? "Look!" someone shouted, pointing towards where the smoke and shadows were parted by daylight and the glow from the blazing fire.
Kirie gasped, her eyes going wide as two enormous, hellish beasts prowled from the shadows. And not too far away from them stood Zekiel.
They were demons of course and judging from their size and strength they were probably incredibly dangerous. She had no idea what Zekiel was capable of but surely he needed help. Someone would have to help him right? Kirie turned towards Ms Petit but before she could open her mouth to say anything a huge explosion shook the school, badly damaging the classroom. Kirie was thrown backwards from the force of it, her body hitting a wall before crumpling to the ground as rubble and debris landed all about. She was momentarily dazed, her vision spotting with black as she struggled into an upright position. Then the screaming began. Everywhere she looked there were injured people. A wetness on her forehead let her know she had likely been cut but aside from feeling like a truck ran over her she could tell she wasn't too badly harmed. Her immediate thought was to ask if everyone was ok but she let out a pained moan instead as she struggled to her feet. Of course everyone wasn't ok but she had a feeling no one was dead. At least not on this floor.

This scene was all too familiar. Last time she had hidden herself like a coward while those stronger then her had put their lives on the line; some ended paying the ultimate price. She couldn't let it happen again. Her eyes scanned the room seeking out Demonsbane. Even amongst all the smoke and chaos the sword stood out like a light, illuminated by the magic within. She grabbed the sheath, withdrawing the large blade.

"Help me be strong..." She was frightened but resolved. This time she would do something. She saw Galavant leaving the classroom and almost followed him but decided it would be better to wait for the others, especially Ms. Petit. She saw the teacher assisting other students and made her way over, reaching out to grab Ms. Petit's wrist with her free hand. "Demons are attacking the school, I saw them outside with Zekiel. He needs help!" Kirie's voice trembled with the urgency she felt. She wasn't sure if they were ready to fight, but it seemed something was giving them no choice.

Alexander was somehow still standing, he held his book in one hand. his other hand was glittering like starlight. "It seems like our lesson, just got a whole lot more practical." He said as he picked his way through the rubble towards the edge of the area that was intact, Helping people up out the ruble as and where he could. Reaching the edge of the area that was probably safe to stand he rubbed his chin. "We're going to have a issue getting down." He said as he looked at the flames. he raised the hand that was glowing like starlight and started to draw runes and symbols, forming a complex pentagram in the air, "Well, lets lend a hand why don't we?" he said, he wasn't intending to use anything immensely powerful, just open a small gate to the asteroid belt and let the lumps of ice there rain through at a decent speed. he reasoned that ice at near absolute zero would probably put the fires out, and cause the burning wolves some major issues.

Ivan stood up from where he'd been flung. "Freki, Grei!" He called, picking up his staff, the two wolves rushed to his side, growling loudly. The noises sounded more like the roar of a engine than a dog growling. no one had heard the two immense creatures angry before. and it was a sight to behold. Two wolves the size of a shire horse, fangs as long as a grown man's arm, eyes of blazing amber, muscles rippling beneath fur ready to rip apart any who approached their brother. Sprinting towards the edge of the classroom that had been devistated he jumped off the edge, the two huge wolves following. Landing easily he took up a combat stance and took a deep breath, looking past the wolves at the cult in the forest, He grinned "You made a mistake, that is my world and you have no idea what you're going to be dealing with." He chuckled and tapped his staff on the ground, suddenly the plantlife in amongst the cultests sprung to life, vines, brambles, stinging nettles and other toxic or barbed plants grabbing and lashing at them, attempting to drag them in to the earth.

Maxim quickly went through classroom, carrying as much people as he could from the edge of crushed wall. He became, even if it's not possible, even more colder, giving up on his feelings to reach goal of saving his, even if they didn't knew about his existence, classmates. He always thought, mercy was the answer, but... why his soul wasn't agreeing to it now?
Bloody and gruesome true shown itself, trying to convince Maxim for fighting. He almost agreed to it...
No, he can't just randomly fight every person who hurts his mates. Not today - never.
Taking needed speed, Maxim jumped off the edge of classroom, spawning big water wings behind his back. Water rose up above him, giving blue reflection on his face. He planned a tactical move, without directly hurting demons, but could his mates understand that as cowardliness?
Maxim didn't care.

Tore's eyes widened as he saw what had happened outside, from what he could tell from where he was sitting something seemed to have attacked the school and set it on fire, he rose to his feet to try and get a better look around but when he saw the flaming wolves all the colour drained from his face. ''What the hell are they'' he couldn't help but ask aloud as he had never seen anything like these creatures before and they scared the clean hell out of him.

As he stood there trying to figure out what it was that he could do to either help or run as he knew with his low amount of control over his magic he would just be a distraction for anyone who tried to fight the creatures, he then put away the sliotar that he had in his hands and looked to the teacher. ''Miss what do we do?'' he asked in a slightly shaken voice as he hadn't expected to have to deal with what he assumed were terrorists on his first day of school.

As he finished asking what to do he felt himself get thrown into the air and smash into the door where he let out a scream of pain, when he looked around he saw that the entire classroom was wrecked and that quite a few people were hurt from what ever had happened, he tried to move but felt a lancing pain shoot up his arm and when he looked down he could see that his arm was trapped beneath some rubble.

Zekiel looked back as he noticed his students immediately springing into action, he smirked in content as his words merely escape his mind. He turns back towards his opponents but before any action could be made he felt a sudden change in temperature, ice was seemingly forming out of thin air and the fire slowly came to a fading halt. As the fire faded some smoke emerged in replacement, not too much however for it didn't blind anyone around nor reach the sky. The hell hounds now yelling in pain from the cold air but now wrapped with planets, a ironic twist of events. They scream in pain with every slam, twist, or squeeze, they all seemingly die.. however, a glow emitted from the ground as the creatures get consumed by the earth. One singular creature shoots from the glow in the ground to seemingly form one joint creature, the hell hounds had formed together to make a chaotic creature, a much more powerful creature.

5a9b33d38ef7ad310f736b59d7b1cbc8.jpg

Its skin as dark as ash and as hard as iron, taking a similar form of the hell hound but now greater. It roars in excitement as it charges passed Zekiel with immense speed and with his immense strength he shoots through everything to get to Kirie, as it symbolizes and displays its much more acquired intelligence to pick its own pray. Kirie was the victim for she was helping the others and thus by attacking her the creature thought that it could decrease the numbers that is stacked against him. With switch action this creature spit a thick liquid suspense from its mouth and onto Kirie's shoulder, what would seem to be like lava but a much weaker form. Not enough to instantly melt skin but could possibly if left on long enough. Zekiel noticed this attack swiftly as the creature had already arrived at Kirie, he quickly sprints over at the school to help but seemingly is too slow to help Kirie...

Meanwhile the cult continues its same chant on repeat, however now the leader has killed another of his members causing the numbers of the cult members to decrease to 3 now. Among the blood that spilled from this cult member created another creature, fire once again but a little different.

fire-bird-phoenix-fantasy-creature-illustration.jpg

A hawk but with flames that continually run from the base of its wings and forehead. This creature immediately flew upwards and directed its flight towards the two companion wolves, with a long stream of flames it spewed from its mouth it would barely graze the top of the fur of these wolves but hot enough to make a impact on the nerve system.

The cult leader meanwhile yells during the fuss, ''See, our flames cannot be extinguished. For our flames are immortal unlike you pathetic humans!'' Ice would no longer work on these creatures, the flames are too hot to smoother.

Strange feeling filled his body, like if he still was able to do something physically, but his insides being sucked out...
God damnit! The mana!
His water wings started to slightly deform, loosing water slowly. He was trying to at least fly to the building, but he couldn't. Wings continued to deform, loosing water by big splashes. Maxim tried to form them again - but how he could do it, if he was out of mana?

"N-no! I have to sa-save... them..." Maxim again tried to fight the magic, but it was over. Wings exploded like some water-filled balloons, and Maxim flew down to the ground. It was over, he would die by falling from such height. Small water particles were still around him, flying with him to his end. Maxim tried to concentrate on them, but it was pointless - he was out of mana, and couldn't do anything. He wasn't able to protect them, and spent all his mana on that pointless flying... This is probably why no one was trying to know him closer - he is indeed a coward... filthy coward...

"I d-deserve this" He sobbed quietly, preparing to hit the ground...

Temperance looked around the classroom and realized that none of her classmates seemed to pay her any mind. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to do something even more extravagant during the lesson to get them to give me attention! Hehe~

Temperance looked around the classroom and observed what everyone else seemed to be doing. Most of the students were handing in their homework, while others seemed to be doing something that was significantly less important... Like taking a nap. Temperance would never sink to the level of refusing to pay attention. She may have been a prodigy, but she was certainly not a slacker. Talent is only the starting point for life, but because of that, she had significantly more potential for growth than everyone else.

Something caught the corner of Temperance's eye and she wondered what exactly it was. Hmm... I wonder wh- Temperance's eyes shifted to the orange glow that filled her field of vision. Her first instinct was to run, but she realized that this may be part of the lesson. Miss Petit was a tricky one, after all. Kirie seemed to be affected by this a bit too much. She didn't want to take immediate action, but to help others. Temperance thought this was a foolish approach. Taking out the enemies first, then aiding allies was certainly the way to go. If no one could attack you, then no one could get hurt, right?

At first, Temperance just viewed some of the battle. She surveyed what exactly was happening. There seemed to be some kind of fire dogs, as well as some cultists. Temperance gritted her teeth when she saw the cultists. Hmph. Some second-rate cultists who only know how to inflict pain on children. How pathetic.

It seemed that this actually was a genuine attack, after she observed this for a while. Miss Petit seemed to be genuinely concerned with the well-being of the students and Kirie had had an appropriate response, although it was still definitely not the response she would've taken. And because of that response to help others, it seemed that a newly morphed fire dog was formed. When that formation occurred, the new creature attacked Kirie. As much as Temperance wanted to ridicule her for being hit, she kept her mouth shut.

Temperance ran toward Kirie and the fire creature. "You lowly mutt. Know your place." Temperance used her specialty, Hanged Man, to render the creature useless. Temperance outstretched a hand to Kirie and said, "This isn't a friendship I'm forging here. I just need you to slash at that disgusting thing until it disappears. Honestly... It is an eyesore."

Kirie watched as some of the other students sprang into action and began casting spells. Ivan had called upon his two large wolves and the trio had jumped out of the gaping hole in the classroom, heading directly towards the battle. She had seen Ivan's magic before but it was awe inspiring watching him in action. He seemed to take more offense to the destruction of the forest then anyone being hurt which bothered her morally. She pushed the thought away as she watched him cast, the unburnt plant life becoming animated and attacking every enemy in their wake. It was honestly a wild scene, half the forest on fire and the other half viciously whipping at the demon dogs and the people in cloaks. She wasn't even sure if they were human, having not seen any of their faces yet. They had begun to chant menacingly in a language she had never heard before. Just what the hell was going on?

A cry of pain caught her attention, her head snapping towards the sound. It was the new transfer student, Tore was it? Regardless of his name he was trapped under a piece of rubble and needed help. Kirie made a move towards him to try and help when she heard an awfully loud roar that sent a shiver through her entire body. She faced towards the battlefield again, noting that the smaller demon hounds from before were gone. In its place a much larger, more dangerous looking hound was moving quickly towards the school. It almost seemed like- no it was coming directly for her. She lifted Demonsbane, prepared to defend herself as best as she could when the creature spit out what looked like molten lava at her. Demonsbane reacted before she could even call forth Kenshin, his magic creating a force field around her. Because the attack wasn't necessarily a spell it did not block it, the lava hitting her on her shoulder. It began to sear through her jacket and shirt burning her unprotected skin. Kirie shrieked in pain, Demonsbane clattering to the floor as she struggled to get out of her jacket. Luckily it only burned a small portion of her shoulder but it hurt like hell and she knew the pain would only get worse."Damnit!" She surprised herself by cursing as she gentle poked at the quickly blistering reddened skin. But she had to count herself lucky, the thing looked like it could kill her rather easily. Realizing she was still in danger with her guard down, Kirie scrambled to pick up her sword, her grasp a bit weaker due to the throbbing pain in her shoulder.

Luckily for her Temperance had decided to help. The other student had used some of her occult magic to momentarily suspend the beast. Kirie had to have a certain amount of respect for what Temperance was capable of. That was no ordinary demon after all.
"This isn't a friendship I'm forging here. I just need you to slash at that disgusting thing until it disappears. Honestly... It is an eyesore."

Really? In the midst of all these she was worried about "friendships"? She wasn't sure why the two of them had become unspoken rivals but quite frankly she wasn't interested in forging a relationship either right now. She just focused on survival. Kirie could have laughed if their situation wasn't so terrifying. She didn't need to be told twice however, already moving into position with Demonsbane raised. She hadn't fought a single demon before in her life and honestly had no clue how to go about it. But most things died when stabbed in the chest so that was where she aimed. With great effort Kirie thrust Demonsbane through the chest of the suspended demon. She didn't stop pushing until she felt the creatures body give way and the tip of Demonsbane poking through the other side. The creature howled something awful as the sword glowed brightly, seemingly burning it from the inside out with magic. Kirie grunted and put all of her weight on the blade, slowly dragging it downward through the demons body. She wasn't strong enough to pull it all the way down and cut the creature in half. Shamefully she admitted this, "I don't think I can finish it off!"

"Why does this place have to be like a maze now!" Running through the halls was getting to be rather difficult due to the amount of destruction happening around him. Deciding to say screw it all, and meet back up with the others just in case they found a way down he sprinted back towards the classroom. The situation was beginning to drag up old memories he hated to think about from so long ago. Shaking his head he focused back in on the here and now as the outside was becoming more volatile on the outside from what chants he could hear among the fighting. "What could they be possibly fighting n...oh that's a huge puppy." Pausing as he came back to the classroom he watched as Kirie and Temperance tag teamed upon a flaming dog that was currently hanging in the air. Clenching his fist as he summoned up the anger over seeing this creature trying to harm his friends after his flower, Galavant began to give off a soft blaze as his body slowly began to become coated in flames.

"I'll have your head for what you've done!" That last spark allowed his body to ignite fully as his vision became focused purely on the floating demon dog that brought along this destruction to the school. He set his body temperature to 160 degrees just in case this guy may be hot enough to have no effect, but didn't wanna go to his maximum too soon. Darting forward while having to jump over some rocks he leaped into the air using the momentum of his downward fall to land a good blow on its head. Being in his rage filled state he wasn't going to be pulling his punches on this guy at all, and used all the force he could manage into striking this thing into oblivion. Not really being the brightest star in the universe he only assumed that if he burned hotter than his enemy then he'd be able to beat him back with superior "firepower" for sure...at least in his mind.
