Hello Iwaku it's Lita. I took something of a sabbatical recently but I'm back and looking for gay & lesbian romance-drama writing partners again. Here I have some of the basics of what I'm looking for and a few plots (may be adding more). If anything here sparks your interest feel free to jump in and send me a PM with what you're thinking!

Partner Demographics:
  • 18+ obviously required, mid to late 20s preferred (I'm 24)
  • LGBT preferred (I'm gay so I like to write about same sex romance with people who can relate to the experience as I can.)
  • Women strongly preferred, but I will consider others on a case by case basis
Writing Style:
  • A typical post is several para but it might be as short as 2p if the scene has a quick back-and forth.
  • I'm very busy with real life and can often take up to a week to reply. Please be patient.
  • PMs preferred
  • Past-tense third-person narration preferred ("She was..." as opposed to "I am...")
  • I love large and diverse casts with characters of different sizes, shapes, races, values, abilities, etc.
  • Intricate worldbuilding is a huge plus
  • Situations might be fantastical but I try to write characters very realistically, feeling and doing things as a real person might.
  • Slow-burn romance is my favorite
  • A combo of internal and external conflicts is key.
Some Notes About Sex Scenes:
  • Having this be red star is more about being able to 1.discuss mature themes in the text 2. have erotic moments and acknowledge the characters' sex lives than it is about writing a sex-centric RP. I'm totally fine with erotic scenes as I said and writing the characters experiencing sex abstractly. I really just find the patently pornographic "in-out-in-out" tedious. Just think of it like I want to write stories that are rated R as opposed to NC-17.
  • If any non-con or dub-con situations occur in the RP or in the backstories of the characters these experiences could be discussed but would have to be treated as negative or at best very emotionally complicated. Sexual violence is something that people process in a lot of different ways but it would go against my values to romanticize it.
  • Kink themes are open for discussion. I'm a fairly vanilla person but hey, every character has their own psycho-sexual profile so whatever, let's explore it.
  • If you have any guidelines or things to discuss of your own on this topic please let me know! I want everyone to feel comfy cozy.
Plots:
THE LONG WAY Real World / Modern / Roadtrip / Opposites Attract
Character A has been living a very successful and mainstream life. They take a trip to Las Vegas with intentions to marry their "perfect" and traditional fiancee, C. However, the night before the wedding, A leaves the hotel alone and through a combination of bad choices and misadventure wakes up the next morning married to B instead. B is A's opposite: a wildchild living life on the fringes, perhaps involved in sex work or petty crime. Neither B nor A remembers the night before or how they came to be married and neither wants to be, especially A. Still, C, upon finding out is furious and takes off for home, leaving A behind. A immediately wants to follow and save the relationship but they've lost their ID and are unable to rent a car or buy a plane ticket without it. B is in trouble too. Circumstances have recently come up causing them to need to leave town and fast, but they have almost no money to do so. B proposes the solution: B will drive A all the way back to their city if A pays the gas and other expenses along the way. There they can see A's lawyer and take care of the divorce before B departs in search of a new home. The relationship between these unlikely friends is rocky at first and only gets more difficult when they begin to fall in love.
THE COVEN Magic Realism / Present or Near Future / Dystopia / Sci-Fi / Enemies to Lovers
Magic has been dead to the world for centuries, the stuff of delusion and fantasies. However, unbeknownst to the common citizen, a phenomenon known as "the indigo births" began occurring in Country X about one hundred years back. For reasons still unknown, a small percentage of the total births within this country every year since have been children with magical abilities. These "indigo children" are identified by their distinct brand of heterochromia. One of the infant's eyes is "normal" a color predictable based on their genetic makeup, while the other is an unexpected color, one that would seem impossible for a regular human to have. The government was intrigued and worried by these new births happening within their borders and so designed a cover-up. They claimed that the "megachromia" was a symptom of a rare, horrible, and contagious disease. Infants displaying the sign would have to be removed from their families immediately "for the safety of the public." Shortly afterward they would be reported as having died in quarantine. In truth, the government had taken the children to facilities to be raised in secret under their watch. The institutions are large and beautiful, fronting as private boarding schools, which in a way they are. There the magical children are cared for, studied, and trained to be secret agents of country X in adulthood. The program has worked well for X, helping the country gain new wealth and power. However, there are the covens. The covens are groups of few magic-havers who have escaped from the institutions or somehow slipped through the cracks. These groups are small because the X government has been diligent in collecting all indigo children. If a megachromat is spotted out in society they and their associates are immediately arrested for bio-terrorism justified by the contagion myth. As a result, the coven members must disguise their markers and keep to the back alleys of society. For now they scrape by in secrecy, but they aspire to an eventual revolution: a complete overthrow of the system that forced them into the shadows. Character A is a member of one such coven, having slipped through the cracks before the feds ever had a chance to take them in. Character B is a product of the institutions, a star-student and believer in the system, just a few months short of completing training and receiving their government assignment. One day B is on a ride-along with agents transporting new "indigo births" from the hospitals to the secret care facilities. A, a bold revolutionary, has been riskily observing this process without their coven's knowledge. When B recognizes A as an un-registered magicker, A sees no other option but to kidnap B to prevent being reported. With nowhere else to go, A brings B to the coven. After some debate, the coven agrees to keep B alive despite the danger of doing so. As punishment for their mistake, A is tasked with taking care of B and preventing them from running away or otherwise revealing the coven's existence. At first, the two are bitter enemies with utterly opposing views. However, they're contradictorily drawn to each other and, quite strangely, their powers seem to be stronger when they're together.
THE REFORMATORY Magic / Horror / Boarding School / Mystery / Present or Recent Past
The Lorelei Academy Reform School for High-Potential At-Risk Youth is a series of centuries-old buildings on a green estate surrounded by tall wrought iron fences further surrounded by miles and miles of forest. The residents of this part-prison part-boarding school are "gifted delinquents" of high school age, transferred to the academy from prisons, foster care homes, youth shelters, and other such places for unwanteds. They come from all over the country, chosen for enrollment by the Lorelei Selection Committee based upon their performance on a battery of interviews and tests ranging from SATs to Rorschachs. Those who are chosen are often the envy of peers they leave behind as it is well known that the conditions at Lorelei are far nicer than any government institution. For one, the school is housed on beautiful manor grounds and students there who once wore jumpsuits now wear prep school uniforms. Of course, it's not perfect. As wards of the school, students are still technically prisoners, not permitted to leave or have lives outside of the school. Some people swear that the Lorelei grounds are haunted and rumors of disappearances, ghosts, secret societies, and devil worship abound. And, as with all schools and prisons, the energy can be gossipy, violent, and cliqueish. Character A has been at Lorelei for over a year and is a member of one such clique, an amateur gang that rules the school sometimes through charm and sometimes through force. They find a new favorite victim in new arrival Character B who is derided as strange and weak by the other students. A does not lead the bullying of B but doesn't intervene much either. Things continue this way for a while until A starts having unusual dreams that always seem to involve B. Eventually A begins to suspect that the dreams aren't theirs at all, but B's. When the dreams take a turn for the dark and ominous A confronts B and B confesses that the dreams are indeed their own and furthermore, they're not the only strange things that have been happening since their arrival on campus. United by the strange psychic connection and shared secret the two set out to find what answers they can about the reformatory and the dark energies that seem so attracted to gentle and unassuming B.
