On the way back to HQ, Alice rested her head on the cool window. Something about being out of the sun brought a sense of relief to the small girl. She moved her eyes down to her hand. Slowly she felt her powers returning. Along with her powers, she felt the chilling presence of Tsukami. This eerie feeling made her feel safe again. Alice to smile from hearing the soft whispers of Tsukami.
You ask too much of me my child, you must not push yourself too hard. The time will come.

Alice placed her hands back on her sore stomach, which continued to remind her of the mistake. Had she sneaked out like she planned to, she would have been captured or worst. Tamara saved her life not once, but twice today. Alice always thought of her as a pain but now things were different. "How long will we be kept in the shadows?" Alice continued looking out the window. "How long will we be a shadow in the dark?"

Alice placed her hands back on her sore stomach, which continued to remind her of the mistake. Had she sneaked out like she planned to, she would have been captured or worst. Alice continued looking out the window. "How long will we be a shadow in the dark?"

"You know, you have one very distinct advantage over me, Alice." Tamara said, a few moments after Alice stopped speaking. "Since I got these abilities to see through most anything, I have to actually concentrate a little to tell bright from shadow. Shadows look different to me. I mean, I can kind of tell the shading is different, but since they don't hide anything, most of the time I know I'm in one only because the air is cooler. It took me over a week to master not seeing through my own eyelids at night and having a really hard time sleeping. I still goof up now and then and accidentally see someone's insides."

T-rae laughed. "When I first got these powers, I think I had almost permanent stubbed toes and bruises on my face from walking into things. I didn't see them because I was seeing through them. You'll get used to your abilities, like I got used to mine. Just... don't rush it. I'm sure that being a martial artist you know the value of practice and patience, right?"

Alice smiled at Tamara's joke but it was irreverent. Alice never once regretted her powers. Never did she once complain or cry about earning them. The sacrifices that were made to obtain them and the duty she had with them were all blessings. What bothered Alice was her namesake. Tsukami told Alice what she wanted for her name to be purified and all Alice could do was let it get tainted by her old clansmen. "Tamara... we meant us. A shadow is meant to be seen in the light for the light makes us. Without light, we are nothing. How long must we remain nothing? How long must we hide in the shadows of others?" Alice then turned to Tamara. "We sit, we wait, we watch, yet nothing changes. We want to make a difference. I want to repay Tsukami!"

Then Alice quickly covered her mouth, forgetting she was not allowed to say the name.

After a few minutes the three men were ready to be interrogated. Before he went in he told an analyst, "Inform Agents Tamara and Alice. They may be interested in this." After that he stepped into the interrogation room. It was a was a rectangular room with a table in the middle and a one-way window for observation. Handcuffed to the table was the lead man. Emmet took a seat opposite him.

"Alright, let's cut to the chase. Tell me who paid you to attack that agent and I can make sure you avoid a prison sentence."

"W-we didn't know she was with you guys. I swear."

"Why'd you do it? You can tell me anything." Emmet was favoring the soft hand right now.

"Some guy at the bar, wearing a suit. He offered us alot of money to rough her up. A-at first we thought he was joking. But then he showed us the gold. Actual gold, to pay us in."

"Were there any markings on the gold? Coporate or government seals perhaps?"

"Uh, we didn't get a good enough look."

"I see. So, you thought a gold bar would be worth beating a kid up for?"

"Well, when you put it like that."

"Can you give me any details about the man that hired you?"

"He was in a suit. He seemed rather nervous. Oh, actually, he seemed like he was being forced to do it. He had a tick and kept looking over his shoulder.

"Okay. I think that will be all."

"So I'm getting out of here? Me and my buddies?"

"Actually, you're all going to jail for assault and battery."

Emmet left the interrogation room, assuming the agents investigating had the info they needed.

"They failed. There was another girl with them. They were knocked out by some sort of tranquilizer gun." He said, figeting and looking around.

The other man gave a disappointed sigh. "I see. And I so wanted to see what that little girl can do when all riled up. They're not likely to let her out now."

"It's not my fault. I did what you told me to do."

"I know. I need to find someone else. Someone interesting. Oh, I've an idea. Yes..." The man in the trenchcoat walked over to a tablet computer and flicked through a few pictures, settling on one. "I'll gather the needed information, but you're going to get this one in the open for me."

"What's the reason you want her?"

"I don't see why I should tell you but why not? She's innocent. So very innocent. It will be wonderful to see that all change..." He laughed, then looked at the man again. "Go. Or do I have to remind you that your wife still loves you, and that I can change that... instantly?"


"No. No you don't have to remind me." The old man picked up the tablet computer and headed out of the room.

"SHIELD. So vain even in your fall from grace. You're about to see just how far... you can fall."​

"Listen, Alice. I know that all you want to do is get out there and kick butt. I'm sure you'll get sent on an assignment soon. But the fact that those guys knew you doesn't set well with me, and I bet the brass is going to keep you out of the field until we find out why they went after you specifically. This is temporary. You've got kick ass powers and a real passion for doing the right thing. They won't keep you out of the field forever."

Tamara pulled up in the drive through window and ordered fries and shakes for both of them, before heading back to HQ. "I figure both of us are going to be inside HQ for awhile now, so why not get one last hurrah on the way back?"

It wasn't long after that when they arrived at HQ. An agent escorted Alice to the infirmary to have her injuries checked, and T-Rae headed for Browning's office.

Cameron came around since he was stuck doing paperwork after getting a couple of shots his hand was feeling better but it was still fracture. Fitz created a glove to really hold the bone in place to heal better it cost him some mobility in his right hand but it was necessary.
Cameron saw Emmet come out of the interrogation room, he stopped him to get the files he had from him for Coulson. Cameron wanted to be more productive then just doing and gathering paperwork, but he had to prove that he was responsible again.

"Hey Emmet I'm gonna need the paperwork from that interrogation for Coulson hope you got some answers" h said to him, but he knew he did as Emmet was a classic agent no bravado no power, just skilled and gets his job done. Cam was once similar but once he got his powers he thinks it made him feel that he was the exception to the rules but he isn't and he had to learn that.

After he saw Emmet gave the file a look over and handed him the file Cameron took a look, he may had to do paperwork but he still wanted to stay updated on what was going on.

"Man in suit... possibly being forced... offered payment in gold" he said skimming the report
"What not many people can hand some thugs gold in some shady bar, this is big I wonder if this is related to a Hydra Agent finding Steven... well Steven is tasked with interrogating the Hydra agent we captured, I'm not allowed to aid in any way but Coulson brought up the possibility of Steven going too far due to his instability so here's live feed of the Hydra agent (He handed him a tablet showing the live feed)... so if you see anything out of the ordinary when he's interrogated your to step in and take over... I know you got a lot of work to do but just keep an eye out.. if there's anything you need to know just ask since im Coulson's errand boy" he said rolling his eyes it pained him being stuck to relaying messages and paperwork but May might have reduced his sentence but Coulson was pissed he put Steven in harms way.

He gave Emme time to understand what he just told him and to reply if he had anything to say...
"Well I gotta go find agent Jacobs and have you seen Alice gotta ask her some questions to?" he asked.

Emmet gave him the thin report. "I do not know her whereabouts. Also, if you see Tamara tell her I need to see her. She ICED three people and that's considered combat action so she needs to be debriefed." With that Emmet departed for his office.

Emmet arrived at his office to find Tamara there already. "I was looking for you. You need to be debriefed."

Cameron nodded as Emmet just informed him that he didn't know where Tamara was, and was on his way. Cam new Emmet was busy hell he was an unsung hero one of shields most trusted who sometimes didn't get the credit he deserved for the hard work he did.

He was short on words but Cam had to keep moving while heading back to Coulson's office with the report he bumped into Jacobs....

"Hey Jacobs, about what happened with Alice and her attackers, Coulson wanted to know if you noticed anything unusual?" he asked
Jacobs smiled

Jacobs: "The big boss asked me something wow, well I wish I had something to tell standard bag and tag after they were Iced. Well one seemed to be having some sort of nightmare while he was out, he began to convulse but thought that it was just how he reacted to the i.c.e.r" he replied

"Thanks man every bit helps.. and do you know where Alice is?" he asked

Jacobs: "Umm I think they just admitted her in the infirmary just a second ago, and what's up with the hand?" he asked seeing Cameron struggle to write

"Don't ask long story just don't punch granite" he said walking off.
If Alice was in the Infirmary then she'd be a while so he'd come back to her first stop now was Coulson's office but Cam was getting an idea in his head to attack Alice specifically and Steven specifically means they were being watch some how... he just couldn't figure it out.

Cam made it to Coulson's office he didn't knock just stepped in and handed the report to him... "here you go sir the full report the three men were interrogated by Emmet, Tamara did not get a chance to cross interrogate them yet and the Hydra agent is still in custody" he said

Cam made it to Coulson's office he didn't knock just stepped in and handed the report to him... "here you go sir the full report the three men were interrogated by Emmet, Tamara did not get a chance to cross interrogate them yet and the Hydra agent is still in custody" he said

"I'm glad we have him, but of course this doesn't change anything as far as your behavior. You thought the best way to build Agent Lasket's confidence was to get him in a bar fight with an enhanced criminal? If it weren't for your record so far, we wouldn't be measuring your desk job time in weeks. Be that as it may... Not all desk jobs in SHIELD are here."

Coulson brought up a holo screen with a picture of what looked like mostly farmland, with a few buildings in the background. "We've recently discovered an abandoned hidden base of Hydra's, just up the coast near Bangor, Maine. There's a lot of documents there. World War Two and Korean War era. Being that old, they need to be copied and scanned digitally into the system. But seeing that it's an old Hydra base, I want someone there who can handle themselves, just in case, to back up our other administrative staff there. You'll go pack your things and go to the motor pool. And one more thing..." He tapped a spot on a holo screen and the door to Coulson's office opened and closed as someone entered.

"You're going to need a lanyard."

Steven looked and was kind of excited to be interogatting the scum that had tried to knock him out before Tombstone had entered the scene and he wondered if he was alone. Somehow he doubted it as he got out of the car and watched as Cameron walked away too.

Before he went back to the interogation room, he looked at his dresser and opened his dresser with his key and went to his notebook that still had the rewritten formula and he wondered what he had not accounted for still. He added a quick note of ' they know i'm alive,' amongst the notes to figure out what went wrong. He wasn't about to give it to SHIELD right away since he wasn't quite ready to admit that he couldn't figure out on his own. He closed it behind him and placed in his draw, under all of his delicates ( a place no one would dare to move without asking him.) and locked it just in case.

He watched his steps as he walked to the interrogation room where the HYDRA agent was already waiting. ' So, you're the one who is going to get information. Oh how the tables have turned,' he said with a certain bit of snark.

" There are exactly 206 bones in the body and of those bones 106 are located in the hands and feet, both of those that are quite easy to break and cause you some immense pain that won't be pretty to be seen on others. So first question, why is HYDRA looking for me and are there others?"

'What's it to you Captain Wannabe?' He replied with the same bit of snark as before.

" That's not an answer," he said, breaking the bones in the man's left hand. He looked at him. " What you would like to answer?"

" Do you have the formula?" The agent asked back.

" Not an answer," he said, breaking his other hand.

'Does it make you feel happy to be inferior to him?'

" One more chance, otherwise I am going to have go after the other 100 bones and nobody likes to be in that much pain," he added, as he broke his left hand.

' How does it feel to be a failure?' There were many things that could break Steven and that was one of them. He grabbed the agent and slammed him against the wall.

" Now this is going to end one of two ways. Either you give me answers or well, I get angry and am called out and leave you with all of those broken bones too. So, let's try this one more time."

'I won't break,' he replied.

" Your choice, your regrets," he said, slamming the man back hard, cracking the bones in them. " Now, then, what else would you like to do for those traitors?"

'I won't break,' he replied.

" Your choice, your regrets," he said, slamming the man back hard, cracking the bones in them. " Now, then, what else would you like to do for those traitors?"

"Compliance will be rewarded." Was all the Agent said, then ground his teeth together. He coughed once, and his eyes glazed over. In a surprising show of strength for someone who wasn't supposed to be enhanced, he suddenly shoved free of Steve, opening and closing the hand with the broken bones.

"You won't get anything from me. Ward trained me. Seems like someone turned off the camera in here when you started your little enhanced interrogation techniques. Have fun explaining how you killed me." A hideous crackling noise came from that hand, then he struck with far more speed than Steve had seen from him prior. One chop to the throat and a knee to the solar plexus took Steve off guard.

Of course it didn't stop Steve long, but by the time he had recovered, the Hydra agent had yanked off the cover of an electrical outlet and grabbed the exposed wires. Steve got to him just as the agent was tossed across the room by the alternating current. By the time he hit the floor, he was dead.

Emmet sat at his desk and busied himself by sorting through papers. Unfortuneately his job not all glory. "Meh, just give tell me what happened. This was an insignificant incident and this here is just a formality dictated by protocol. Start wherever."

"Everything was fine at first. Alice was making a sand castle on the beach, so I stepped away to get the kid and I some ice cream. Next thing I know she's surrounded by these guys, beating on her. So, I rushed up and told them to stand down, flashing my badge. They start to act like they're going to come after me next, so I Iced them. Apparently they knew who Alice was. SHIELD buried that story so deep that you can't even find mention of it on the web - trust me I've looked - so whomever sent them was either close to that case, or had access to some of either our files or the local LEOs. That's about it, really." She said with a shrug.

"I messed up. I shouldn't have left her alone, and I admit that. She's also very single minded, Alice. I mean I don't like how we have to watch every enhanced we can, but I see the reason why we do. I can't think of much else to say." Tamara added.

Cameron listened to Coulson and dared not to reply and make his paperwork duties worse then they already were ... But then Coulson told him that he was assigned to Bangor, Maine to digitally copy some files and the only reason he was going was because it was an old Hydra base and the staff there was all administrative they had no combat training.

After being briefed he couldn't say he was thrilled he was worried about Steven as they didn't see how obsessed he was with correcting his flaws. Then a man came into Coulson's office saying "Your gonna need Lanyard" he said

Cameron turned to Coulson "I'll get right to it" he said as he followed the man out the office as he guessed he needed special ID to get to into the base.

He hated leaving the main base with everything going on but orders were orders .... He got all the paperwork done and got his ID and went to the motor pool ... He saw T-Rae already in Emmet's office in passing and have a slight wave and was on his way

"It's not Lola, but it's a nice car. I'm Sam, by the way. Good to meet you." He gestured to a black Lincoln Town Car when he spoke of the car. "Once we're clear of the city, we'll leave the roads behind."

And they did. Once in the Connecticut countryside, the wheels rotated sideways and the car left the road, flying the rest of the way to the abandoned base, with rock music blaring over the radio the whole way...

Cam was surprised at the Lincoln "Nice to meet you Sam the names Cameron" he said shaking his hand ... He smirked at Sam when he made the Lola comment "This is better than Lola man I love Lincolns their my favorite car" he said in awe.

When he mentioned leaving the roads behind Cam thought they would meet up and take a Quinjet but the car took off...

"Wow.. Sam they say I'm a genius but if that's true what does that make guys like you and Fitz" he said... Now if he had put the work in he could probably figure out how it works and everything but he'd have to study the same way shield taught him hacking and infiltration...

(Oddly enough Lincolns are my favorite car Dax Shepard's Lincoln in the movie hit and run was the one I wish I had)

I know I'm not out there in the field with you all, but I know my job is just as important as yours." Sam shrugged slightly as they angled their path to keep to the countryside the whole way towards Bangor.

"As far as this base goes, it looks like an old farmhouse on the outside, but below the grain silo, is an elevator that goes down about a hundred feet, to a bunker. That bunker is full of crates and boxes. Unfortunately, in the past, there have been some rather nasty surprises in some of Hydra's old boxes, and that's where you come in. Right now, my team is working on gathering all of the higher security crates. You'll find a big rig parked outside the farm, courtesy of one General Talbot. Its first purpose was containment, of Doctor Banner. So, if you find anything in those crates that you think is too dangerous without experts looking at it, your assignment is to deposit them in that trailer for later cataloging. So, while it's a paperwork job, it's still got it's exciting parts, huh? Not all bad, eh?"

"Oh, I love this song." Sam turned up the radio as they came in for a landing at the abandoned base.

Cameron listened to Sam explain everything as they were coming in for a landing and this Daft Punk song came on that Sam seemed to really like and he started really getting into it.

"Don't worry I think I'll be fine I mean my DNA is mutated with a little super soldier and Inhuman so unless there's explosives I think it will be ok" he said after the banner comment he did kinda smirk thinking about becoming a hulk as well.

He was right the place looked like an old farmhouse but inside was different very modern. He made his way to the elevator and passed the agents on the higher level informing them that if something happened to inform him immediately so he can come help.

When he got to the lower bunker he almost fell out due to the amount of crates and papers... He warped 2 laptops to him and his iPod "Let's get to work" he says to himself as he began
