Hi there,
I am hilariously terrible with introductions, so I'll keep this part short and appropriately, awkwardly weird. I have been writing for what feels like forever, it is my safe harbor from the stress of real life, but also serves as a creative outlet for my passion for creative story telling. I used to fancy the idea of pursuing publishing a novel (or three), but these days I find that I like doing just what I am doing. I never want writing to become a thing I have to do for a hustle. Thst doesn't mean I don't approach it with the same level of standards and quality, because I certainly do. If I could, I would write more, ink in the details of snippets and ideas that constantly plague my brain at all hours, but I do (fortunately and unfortunately) have other obligations. So I write as often as I reasonably can. When I'm not writing, I am probably working (because I am lame and bills suck).
** update: hi it's been awhile and I apologize to anyone I may have vanished on due to some pretty big RL upheaval.
This thread is a mess and probably needs a good update. I basically retrieved this from the graveyard, but am working on providing some updates. For now, it is a WIP.
I'll preface this by saying that I am picky about partnerships but harbor no judgement toward writers who are different. We all like different things, we all write for different reasons, we all have our own styles. I am not seeking a quantity of partners, so I am going to be selective and prefer people who have similar writing goals and expectations that align with my own.
* I am verbose. You can expect a solid 800 - 2200 words consistently. I do not word count and I'm not going to wordcount you, but if you find yourself struggling to deliver two paragraphs or find it a sog to wade through a chapter-length of text, we are not ideal partners. Some of my posts, with some characters, are shorter and more concise, others may be poetic and full of lush detail. Sometimes, I might hurl a novella at you. Writing is adaptable and I try to write what is both entertaining and appropriate to a scene and character(s), but I am often wordy.
* Patience. I have a lot going on in my real life so my responses are slower paced. I will occasionally reply more than once a week, but once a week is the normal. There are days I will spend tweleve hours just writing and at those times, rare as they may be, you may get responses from me more readily. In general though, I need ample time to overthink everything, including every punctuation mark and word choice, before I am willing to hit SEND. This is a self-imposed expectation, I don't hold anyone else to this kind of nonsense.
* Diversified Characters. I pride myself on characters who are all different and bring something to the table. I am not interested in playing with people who only play one type of character (including age, race, profession, appearance, body type, trope, sexual dynamics, etc). It is one thing to have a guilty pleasure or preference, it is another to be incapable of stepping outside of your normal or being unwilling to do anything else. To be frank about it, I don't want to be stuck playing opposite the same exact character in every story and forcing the same dynamic to play out over and over.
* Multiple Stories/Multiple Characters. A supporting cast is important! I love a good sidekick character ( and sideline plots, and "side quests" - This is probably why it took me YEARS to complete the main storyline in Elder Scrolls... That, and maybe my compulsive need tosteal rescue every wheel of cheese I ever found... ). I appreciate a fellow writer who also is comfortable with voicing NPCs and intinguing side characters. I am also interested in potentionally playing multiple stories with the same partner, whether completely new tales/genres or spin-offs/side-stories of characters or a world we have fell in love with. Here is my heart, it's yours!
* Collaborative. I am happy (read: OVERLY ENTHRUSIASTIC) to share ideas and plots with you. I similarly am just as eager to hear about your ideas or plots and characters. I need someone equally excited about the prospect of storytelling. If I am left to carry the entire story and make all the decisions, this isn't going to go very far. It gets discouraging to be the only one invested or to be treated as a momentary entertainment. I am always happy to plot! I do not feel that plotting major events or story goals ruins or spoils the story. In fact, I feel it adds so much more potentional and ease for both parties, allowing us to plain how we get to those points and fill in the details along the way. It takes some of that anixety people feel regarding feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or under pressure to carry the whole story forward. That is the benefit of collabortative story telling.
* A Little Romance. I love a little romance in my stories. That being said, I can appreciate a little spice too, but I am not here to just write pure smut. If your preference is writing more sex than plot, it won't be a healthy partnership, or a long-standing one. Sex can be a fantastic detail and motivator for characters, but just writing smut scenes gets tedious and boring.
* Addendum* I do not post in threads. I prefer to write via PMs. I have Discord for random chatter.
** II ** Not an expectation but worth noting - I will moodboard and graphic the absolute sh*t out of a story or character. It's part of the package, like a free gift you can't return.
* If you "sub only", we are not compatible partners.
* MUST BE 18+ NO EXCEPTIONS. I would honestly prefer my partners to be older.
This section is a WIP. I am working on it, but there's a lot. Check back later.

* I dont write slice of life/modern realistic stories, or celeb fantasies. My brain doesn't work that way, I barely know how to be a realistic human IRL.
I also do not participate in fandom/fanfic writing or write characters that aren't my own. I may be willing to write something similar or inspired if I am familiar with it. (though i am grossly behind on any trending shows).

Modern/Urban Fantasy [just an FYI, all of these characters exist in the same 'world', though they don't all know eachother. Some may show up in a story as a side or background character, but I'd be happy to have a multiple-plot story running with more than one. ;) ]
Modern or Historical Acceptable.
Age: 38
Race: Witch
Occupation: Professor of Ancient History and Theology (specializing in obscure magical texts and forgotten lore) at a prestigious university.
APPEARANCE
Eyes: A deep jade green
Hair: Dirty Blonde-brown with hints of gray starting to show through in some light. Usually styled and kept short.
Height: 5'11
Complexion: Pale. Theo doesn't spend much time outdoors.
Build: Lean but not terribly thin. He clearly works out in some capacity.
Attire: Theo looks like the scholar he is. He adorns a style that is classical and comfortale, usually tweed jackets, tailored shirts, vests, and prefers earth tone or muted dark colors. Usually, he accessories with simple things; a nice watch, and always a few copper rings and bands that he says are for his arthritis, but they are definitely imbued with magic.
Other: His hands, especially his palms, are scarred.
Personality:
Theo is a man of few words, preferring to observe and analyze rather than engage in idle chatter. He carries a heavy burden of guilt and regret, which has made him withdrawn and introspective. Many find him easy to approach though and tend to open up to him since he is receptive and an apt listener. He is brilliant but broken and struggles with nightmares and flashbacks from his life three years ago.
Theodore Makris was born into a family with a long and priesteious magical lineage. He and his older brother were both gifted, but Theo was considered a prodigy for his age, able to harness elements and power well beyond his years. He was destined for greatness and the praise he recieved made him arrogant and ambitious. He was always one to push the rules and boundaries, but it was his brother's influence and careful manipulation that inevitably was his undoing. With undead and hellspawn running rampent through the city and unaware of just how jealous and power hungry his brother truly was, Theo trusted David when he bade him to help him perform a ritual. That ritual, unfortunately, nearly ended the world and unleashed terrible things into reality before Theo, with the help of a select few others, were able to put an end to it.
Theo lost his brother to the chaos, but a part of him doesn't believe that David is really dead, though he has no way to prove that. In the end, Theodore was held accountable for his role in the catastrophe and very well was almost executed for it - by his own kind and an organization of hunters who were all vying for his head, but his family name and ties still afforded him enough allies that he managed to leave with his head still attached to his shoulders. His reputation and life were in shambles, though...including his love life. It wasn't any surprise when his fiance' left him shortly after. Who could blame him?
He left his home shortly after that, taking up residence across the country as he debated what to do with the rest of his life.
* Theo fears his own power and the potential for destruction, but he also feels a responsibility to use his abilities to protect the world from similar threats.
* He is consumed by guilt over his past actions, but he yearns for redemption and a chance to make amends
* He craves connection and belonging, but his fear of his past keeps him isolated and withdrawn within the magical community.
General Plots. ( I do have a few others, but I'll update those later)
* I'd really like to see Theo confront his pasts. He unleashed all kinds of horrors in the world, maybe he can team up with someone to help start fixing that.
Urban Fantasy. Paranormal. Could maybe do a slightly historical take on this...?
Crazy. That's what they always say when you're just a little bit different from everyone else.
Ashur Blake is one of seven children born to Amelia Blake, the youngest of the only two sons she bore, and the only one who seems to be cursed. Because what else do you really call the ability to see the recently deceased, what other word is there? It sounds cool in the movies, free of all the obvious implications, like your psychiatrist diagnosing you with everything from A-Z while your mother continues to drag you to church because the devil has his grip on you, but the truth is that it has made his life a living hell.
It's pretty easy to assume that Ashe hasn't exactly had the easiest go at life. Despite his lack of friends and the slew of weird rumors, his only saving grace was that he made good enough grades to get a scholarship for college -- and he couldn't be happier to get the hell out of the piece of shit small town he'd grown up in.
He is a medium and can see and communicate with the dead.
Appearance
Age: 18 - 21 (I would actually like to play him older later in a long term story, under the right conditions)
Eyes: Warm maple-brown
Hair: black with reddish-brown highlights that always seems tousled and always seems to be falling into his eyes.
Height: 6'0
Complexion: Medium skin tone, even though he is generally pale, his skin retains a warm honey tone from his mixed heritage.
Build: Tall and lean. It annoys him that he doesn't seem capable of gaining muscle.
Attire/Style: Favors dark clothing, often with a worn leather jacket and boots. Most of his clothes are second-hand; college and a part-time job doesn't really afford much luxury.
Personality
Brooding and cynical. Ash carries the weight of seeing the dead everywhere he goes, though he has learned to ignore a lot of it and takes a bucketload of meds daily to dull his senses. Still, this has led to a deep-seated nihilism and a dark sense of humor. He finds little meaning in the world and often questions the point of it all.
Reserved and solitary. He keeps to himself, partly out of necessity (the dead are always trying to talk to him) and partly due to a distrust of others. He finds it difficult to form connections, mainly due to the fact people don't often believe him or just find him a bit too odd. Others often think he's just a shy book nerd, but he isn't really shy at all.
Sharp and observant. Ash is incredibly perceptive, picking up on subtle cues and details that others often overlook. This is partly due to his psychic abilities, but also his tendency to observe from the sidelines and be aware of his surroundings.
The Reluctant Hero? Despite his cynicism, Ash has a strong moral compass. He doesn't see himself as a hero, but he can't stand to see injustice, though he often isn't a position to act on it
Talents/Other:
Sleight of Hand - Ash is rather adept at pick-pocketeing. It started as a game but he became rather good at it and, growing up poor, it became easy to steal a little from people who wouldn't miss a few bucks out of their wallet. Of course, he got caught as many times as he got away with his little heists and got into plenty of trouble for it, too.
Empathic -- An unfortunate (often annoying) trait of his pyshic abilities, Ash is sensitive to the emotions of others.
Plots: (also happy to explore other ideas or combine some of these).

Modern or Historical
Wolves roamed the world for as long as man, often apart but sometimes, side by side, as allies against the darker things seeking to snuff out life. It was men who broke that alliance, greedy with power or fearful of the unknown, or driven by new theologies that turned friends into foes. It happened in the early spring when the winter eclipsed only into the breath of frost clinging to the first emerging sprigs of verdant green. Funny that; the season of renewal, a time of rejoice, becoming his season of death.
Caius wasn't there when the slaughter happened, but he arrived at his home before his mate's last breath. It isn't unusual for wolves to lose themselves to their animal when their life partner dies and though Caius felt unrelenting grief, he was also consumed with a devastating hunger for revenge. When he approached the God of Death, it was not to plead for the lives of those he lost, but to swear his own for the power to exact his vengeance. Hades granted him that wish, with an undisclosed caveat. Therein lies the trouble in dealing with gods and beings from other realms; they do not play by the rules and laws that govern the mundane world.
In the end, Caius did get what he sought: revenge, but it cost him his own life - a sacrifice he was willing to make. What he didn't know, however, was that it would not be a permanent end. Bound to Hades by their bargain, Caius rose from the dead, soulless but not without his mind intact, as a shadow wolf.
In the modern world, Caius and Hades' relationship is best described as…tense. Neither friends nor enemies, Caius acts more as an assassin than anything else, often hunting down rogue spirits, or enforcing the strict balance between life and death.
APPEARANCE
Age: Caius looks to be in his late 20s, but he's much older.
Eyes: Gray, strange. It isn't any wonder that many who meet him in passing think he's blind, his eyes are an odd shade and almost seem milky and eerily reflective. He wears sunglasses most of the time, even at night. His eyes remain the same color in his beast form.
Hair: Black, shoulder-length
Facial Hair: Almost never clean-shaven, often with a few days worth of growth on his cheeks.
Build: Athletic and extremely well fit, though he tends to hide it beneath dark clothing, he's still quite imposing..
Height: 6'3
Skin: Olive, sun-kissed.
Wolf Form: As a shadow wolf, Caius is large and imposing, with midnight-black fur that absorbs all light, giving him a spectral and almost ghostly appearance. If someone were able to get close enough to ever really see him, they'd notice that he isn't entirely black, there are faint bands of silver and rusty brown in his fur, reminiscent of the timber wolf he once was.
ABILITIES
* Caius is not ruled by the lunar phases as he once was as a shifter. He can move between his human and animal form at will, utilizing both when it suits him.
* As long as there is darkness, he can move within the shadows rapidly, almost like teleporting as long he knows where he is going.
* He can move between the realm of the living, limbo, and the underworld.
* Regenerative. He can regenerate from almost anything, though supernatural wounds may take him a bit longer to recover from.
Occupation: Assassin for Hades, God of the Underworld. His targets are usually those who have cheated death, escaped the Underworld, or otherwise disrupted the balance between life and death. He might also eliminate those who pose a threat to Hades' realm or those who have been marked for death by fate. Rarely, he may lead a wayward soul who is lost.
PERSONALITY
* Caius is not a creature of solitude by choice. The loss of his pack still resonates as an echo within him, and while lone wolves can be adopted into other packs, Caius is no longer a creature of the natural world. No pack would have him and he does not fit within the typical hierarchy of wolves.
* Caius will pack bond with almost anyone if they become a fixed presence in his life. Therefore, he can be possessive and annoyingly protective once he comes to care for someone else. He is fiercely loyal and once he gives his word, he won't break it.
* The Darker Side: He is a cold and calculating killer, utterly devoted to his master, Hades. He carries out his assignments with ruthless efficiency, showing no mercy to those who have earned the wrath of the Underworld.
* Despite his dark persona, Caius harbors a deep longing for connection and belonging. He secretly craves a life beyond the shadows, but his past and his pact with Hades keep him tethered to his grim duty.
Relationships: Caius could be paired with anyone, including another werewolf. A vampire might cause some delicious tension, or a human medium could be interesting. I'm open to suggestions, including demigods, hunters, and angels or demons.
Plots:
Caius is sort of a new character (actually, a combination of two older characters I had kicking around as side characters that I sort of mashed together and reimagined), I'm still feeling him out. So I'm open to suggestions and plots with him.

Even the gifted need a good education... On the outside, the University is pretty mundane with sorieties and football games, but there's another side that goes unseen and unknown. While all students attend their regular classes, a select few have a few additional ones where they hone their other skillsets, mentored and monitored by a small handful of teachers. Highly regulated and kept secret from the rest of the school and world as a whole, it is designed to help keep those with gifts or inhuman abilities intrigrated safely with society while teaching them enough control not to be a danger to themselves or those around them. This is somewhat of a social experiment as there are organizations who are definitely not keen on the idea. This is a unique group, mostly because it is uncommon for species to intermingle in this way.
- There's gonna be drama... There are still tensions among some groups of supernaturals and not all really want to be here. Some do.
- Another student recruits or convinces him to join them or he maybe stumbles onto them accidently.
- Prophecies. Cursed Objects? Murder mysery? Lots of options.
- Happy to pair him with any supernatural-type character.
- Other characters can be witches, shifters, etc.
- Ash is the sort to fall fast and hard for someone else he connects with.

Ash may not be able to completely ignore the spirits that haunt him, but he has learned ways to cope with his abilitiess to the point he can carry on a semi-normal life. That is, until a specific spirit; a person he knew briefly when he was younger, becomes impossible to get rid of or silence. Despite his better judgement, Ash seeks out the person the spirit is desperate to make contact with for reasons, he/she insists are more important than anything else -- [eyeroll].
This person, your character, is important in some regard; a powerful witch or other character with some signifigant influence in the supernatural world [maybe a hunter, if we wanted extra drama] -- it doesn't have to be good influence. Ash needs to not only convince this stranger that he's telling him the truth, but they also will have to survive all the trouble coming their way.
* Possible emeies-to-lovers.
