We call upon you as a member of Civilization. You have tested positive for high levels of Prima Brain Waves, thus stating that you are capable of Magic. As a wielder of this chaos, either by birthright or by chance, we request you uphold you Civil Duties and protect your home, your family, and your fellow citizen. While we value the freedoms and liberties of our citizens, we must also inform you that with the discovery of Prima Brain Waves, you will be required to register to our list of Potential Catastrophes. You will not be treated as any less of a citizen, but in order to ensure the safety yourself and your countrymen, you will partake in mandatory monitoring and research and will be restricted from any use of "Devotions" as a citizen. That is the minimum of your Civil Duties
However, with the acknowledgement of your abilities, a new door of opportunity opens up to you. We formally invite you to attend the Academy at A.R.M.S. At the Academy, you will be trained in the ancient art of melee combat as well as "Devotions." You will recieve a sizeable stipend for yourself and assurance that you and your future family will live comfortably for as long as you serve under the Banner of the King and after 6 years of service you may retire in comfort, following the rules of other Citizens who posses the Prima Brain Waves (Albeit with more leniency).
This is a duty that asks you to go above and beyond. There is no guarantee of your safety in the fight against the Primal Titans which seek to break our city walls, but there is a guarantee that by serving and fighting, you earn the honor, glory, and respect of all the citizens, the King, and of our Protector, Ordos. In this message you will find an application. You have 8 weeks to deliberate on your decision. If you have not submitted your application by the deadline, you will be treated as having waived your invitation. You may take the entrance exams next year if you change your mind.

Taric is a yes-man. If someone asked what his moto was, he'd reply "Leave all the finer details to me." And he'd say it with such confidence and panache that you'd struggle to do anything but trust him. And you'd be right about that. See, while everyone is looking at the big picture at an art museum, Taric is staring intently at the brush strokes, analyzing just how each one is different, sometimes with his nose pressed up against it with a scrutinizing eye. Ever the supporter, Taric is more than happy with the assist in just about everything... Provided you bring the idea. Placing Taric at the head of any team is actually potentially disastrous. See Taric lacks the ability to see the big picture. His attitude stems from him realizing his faults and covering them with the trust that he builds with his allies. He knows his flaws, but just as always he misses the big picture, and instead places his focus on ironing out the kinks of the fine details.

Taric also is not the best at communicating. You may ask him to do something, and he'll agree only to disappear until the very last moment, where he dumps on you everything that he managed to complete in that time frame. Trust is the name of the game when it comes to Taric.


|Background|
The Everthorn Family was once a highly respected family of knights. While perhaps never one of the most influential, they were most certainly close. However, after a tragic accident, several of the Everthorn Knights lost their lives to the Primal Titans and the power of Prima. And then... No other Prima sensitive children were born to their family. For 3 generations, the Everthorns faded into obscurity. They never had another Knight, and soon they were in dire need of elevation if they were to continue as nobility.

And then a miracle: Taric. As a young boy, Taric never suspected anything. He was as happy and carefree as ever. As he grew up, he always struggled in his studies, never able to focus on the task at hand. In language he spent far too much time reading the dictionary than building his basics (his hand writing is atrocious, but his vocabulary is massive), In arithmetic, he could never wrap his head around some of the formulas. Not that he couldn't use them, but he wanted to know where they came from, and that never ended well. He did, however, excel more at the sciences, even if he never did his proper work, and instead focused on more... personal projects.

But soon it was discovered: he was the first of his family for generations to be invited to the Academy. Almost instantly in that small time frame, everything changed. Now the fate of his family rested on his shoulders and everyone scrambled to do their part. He was given a grand party in his honor, he had a marriage arranged with a family from House Lightwall with a woman nearly 7 years his senior, and during that he simply nodded in agreement. It was strange to him. For now he was to be the big picture. To that, he agreed that he'd handle the difficult parts and the fine details such as ensuring he succeeded and courting his betrothed. And thus he was enlisted to the Academy in order to take up A.R.M.S.


- Abilities -

|Style|
Taric is the lowest of his class for swordsmanship while still counting as "passable." He spent far too much time looking at all the different forms, styles, guards, and many more that he never worked on proper foot placement for his strikes. However, in a duel with another student of the blade you'll find that they struggle more than they expected. He has a faultless defense, prescribing to the principle of "The only offense is defense." While he may be able to hold his own in a fight, his main asset is in ensuring that the target has limited options to advance. And when it does, it's usually at him, thus opening the way for his allies to charge without fear

|Devotions|
Taric's use of Prima into Devotions seems to manifest itself in the form of barriers and dampeners. In other words he can project hardened walls (Which can potentially be shattered with enough force) and can create zones that cause things passing through to rapidly decelerate. It's not manipulation of time, but rather an increase in resistance. This can be used in a variety of ways, most of which is defensive, but the possibilities of it's application are quite vast. The difficulty of making a specific barrier depends on its size, how long he channels the ability, and how complex the shape is.

His signature ability and namesake is "Thunderdome." He creates a barrier large dome thick enough to need an impressive amount of force to break and ensuring that prey can only move in the direction he wants (provided they don't break his barrier)

However his finisher is "Stasis" By using a combination of slow fields, and a vast number of barriers meant to block the movement of someone's body, he can effectively lock the target in place. This does require a lot of concentration to keep hold, but usually that is more than enough time for someone to deal the final blow

Personality:

"Punk" would be the best word to describe Bianca. She has a tough exterior because of her years being treated like a pack mule by the elites, though she has them to thank for the strength she has now. All she knows is that she cannot be seen as weak or she will be taken advantage of. Bianca's toughness also spreads to her words, which she will not hesitate to spit with venom if she feels threatened or looked down on. Though Bianca does not come off as friendly, she's actually pretty nice once she feels the other person is of no threat to her or her brother and is really easy to please. A nice meal typically calms her down.

Currently, she's a little peeved at her brother for playing socialite with elites for her when she was breaking her back for him.

Her interests vary from technology and hand-to-hand fighting styles to anthropology and urban legends.


History:

Bianca and Julien were born to a sickly mother who was in and out of the hospital constantly. Though they were able to get care for her, their father suffered the worst of the turmoil watching his beloved wife slowly waste away. It eventually got to him, and when his wife died, an event happened that led to Bianca and Julien without their parents.

Their uncle Tobias adopted the both of them, taking them to the unsavory side of town.

There, Bianca and Julien learned about the knights, what Devotions were, the hierarchy of the country, and what was expected of them. Since their uncle didn't seem to have any hope that his niece and nephew would test for a lot of Prima, he figured it would be in their best interest to learn how to get by life properly.

And so he taught them. But once they'd become 15, he started being gone for longer. Julien had shown signs that his immune system and physical body were not as healthy as they could be. Though he was capable of living a long life, it might take him longer to recover from illnesses and wounds. This saddened Julien, because Bianca became more adamant about protecting him. Even at the cost of her own health.

Their uncle would visit them and provide support, with money for any medicine they might need always appearing. He told them that since they were becoming adults, it was better that they started learning how to handle themselves and to call for him when they needed him. He would be there.

Around that time, Bianca had gotten dragged into playing servant for lower elites. They treated her as a pack mule, making her carry their heavy belongings back and forth, working any hard labor jobs, and basically doing what she could for any extra money she could scavenge for her family. She did this without complaint, but resentment grew within her when her kindness was treated as pushover behavior. This led to her current attitude.

Julien felt bad for his sister. He understood why she was doing what she was, but he didn't want to be stuck doing nothing while Bianca worked her ass off. If she wanted to work, that was fine, but he didn't think she should have to destroy herself physically to give him and their uncle a comfier living. When he was 18, he decided that enough was enough, no matter how much Bianca protested.

He wasn't nearly as capable as her when it came to physical labor. But, he thought to himself, why should he dirty his hands when there were other means of getting money?

This is when he started socializing with some of the younger and lower elites, and learned just how desperate older women and men were for a pretty companion. A little attention here, and a kiss there, and suddenly they were so willing to buy him whatever he wanted. And what they bought him could be sold easily for a pretty coin.

There, Julian grew and learned. He would bring books for him and his sister to read, clothing, and whatever else the older women and men spoiled him with. He learned to dance, to pretend, he learned to read the room, and became known as "Angel eyes" among the lowers.

Julian detested the nickname, but well, his true feelings wasn't going to help him or Bianca, would it?

His socializing became a touchy subject between him and Bianca. Bianca wanted him to stop, but Julien said it was easy money and she should stop instead. Bianca told him it was her job to protect her younger brother and he shouldn't have to go around manipulating people. These arguments always ended in stalemates, and so the two learned to navigate around these topics.

When the time came to test for Devotions, Julien, Bianca, and their uncle were all shocked to discover that not one, but both tested high in Prima waves. Of course they both accepted the invitations, and their uncle congratulated them. He told the two that bigger and better opportunities would arise from this, and that they should not be afraid to reach for them. Even if it meant leaving.

Julien and Bianca thought he meant "leaving the house". But when a family within the Lightwalls seemed interested in Julien and another family in the Mortars wanted to see the carnage Bianca was capable of, they now truly understood what he meant.

As of now, they are undecided if they want to be adopted into Elite families.

Style:


Bianca relies on brute strength to fight. She wields a greatsword that she holds with both hands with ease. However, at the cost for all this strength, Bianca's defenses are pretty low. She's meant to cause a lot of damage, but not be able to tank a lot of hits.

Devotions:

Bianca's devotions are centered around physical enhancements that work only on herself. The physical enhancements focus mainly on strength, but they can also assist her reflexes to help her dodge better. Considering Bianca's lack of defense, the reflex spell is necessary to prolong her survival in battle.


Finisher |
Grand Slam: Bianca's spell triples her strength and sets her greatsword ablaze. This technique is usually followed by her slamming her sword against the ground or her opponent to do a large amount of damage. The resulting impact is usually strong enough to leave a crater.

Personality:

Julian is a deceitful, cunning man able to read other people like a book after spending years manipulating others just so he could try and keep his sister out of the fields or carrying around the elite's belongings like a mule. He used his appearance to brush elbows will people of higher rank than him, doing his damnedest to get on their good side so Bianca could live life a little more peacefully. He understands she does what she does to keep him from undergoing the same thing, but Julien would rather play nice with some elites and entertain them than have his sister break her back from all the hard labor.

Despite his upbringing, Julian's heart is surprisingly in the right place. He is rather kind and is curious about this world he resides in, with a special interest in all the finer things in life. He holds a particular interest in history, geology, technology, and people as a whole.

Style:


His Devotions are his primary weapon, but it isn't much. Julian is a healer, and so focuses on healing his teammates. He will need his allies to protect him if they want him to work at his best.

Devotions:

Julian's main spell is healing and cleansing. This devotion heals others' cuts, bruises, broken bones, and other wounds, but cannot cure any diseases they might have. His healing can also cleanse others of harmful side effects of other weapons, such as poisons and burning.

His secondary spell is to create shards and launch them at his opponents. He can launch a good chunk of them at a time, but each shard shatters upon impact when they hit hard surfaces. Julian cannot recall any shards that shatter and will have to make more.

His finisher spell is a large AoE type of healing spell. He creates a dome that all allies can use to heal and cleanse their bodies. The dome stays in one spot and is under a time limit, but the healing works quickly.

Fenneth, formerly Roaille. Adopted into the Fenneth family upon testing positive for Prima Waves.

Personality:
An ambitious glory-seeker ever hungry for advancement. She craves the thrill of victory and aims ever to increase her standing and prestige. Despite this, however, Astrid isn't so ungrateful as to forget about her benefactors. She understands that her current position is maintained only through the good grace of House Fenneth, and is fiercely loyal to them, and by extension, both theirs and King Engrem's ideals as a result. Thus, she tows House Fenneth's party line in politics.

On a personal level, Astrid exudes confidence in herself. She is pragmatic and calm, willing to give ground and concede points to others so long as it meant she could get what she wants later.

History:
The Roailles were just one of several civilian families sworn to serve one of the Knight lineages that intermarried to form the Fenneth line. As such, Astrid was raised to aspire to be nothing more than to be an agent and bodyguard for House Fenneth. She was instructed in swordplay, fieldcraft, politics, and etiquette to elevate her above other civilians in preparation to be useful in the house's power plays and protect the house's actual Knights from harm at home. However, a taste of power and ability only had her wanting more out of her life than she was afforded.

Thus, when Astrid found herself capable of Devotions, she leapt at the opportunity that fell in her lap. Having already trained her in the non-magical aspects of combat, House Fenneth adopted her into their line almost immediately, elevating both Astrid to the status of apprentice Knight with all the rights and privileges thereof.

In the weeks following Astrid's almost-immediate submission of her application, she has been adjusting to her new life as a true member of the house. Her hours are spent alternating between receiving additional training from the Fenneths in preparation for the Academy, and beginning to truly immerse herself in the politics of Civilis, as expected of a member of House Fenneth.

Abilities

Style:

Relies on swordplay first and foremost. Because of her sword, Astrid prefers to strike with superior skill and overwhelming speed rather than brute strength. Astrid's sword style relies on swift iaijutsu strikes improved with support Devotions.

Devotions:
Most of Astrid's Devotions are centered around physical enhancement for herself or those around her. She favors haste spells that enhance speed and agility, but also uses strength enhancements at times when she can't rely on her high-frequency blade alone to cut through a beast's hide. At range, Astrid augments her sword with wind to deliver strikes from a distance by creating vacuums and shockwaves with a swing of her blade. In addition, she is also capable of using her magic to create brief platforms of air pressure in order to reposition and reorient herself midair.

Astrid's devotion is to glory and victory, seeking to pull herself and those around her ever higher.

Finisher:
Will of the Blade - Astrid combines her two favored spells of haste and wind augmentation to charge forward and cut a target from seemingly every possible direction in a single instant.

Wields a high-frequency vibration katana with an accompanying scabbard.

Angeline of House Mortar

Angeline is a woman of grace and elegance. She aims to keep up appearances, as a prospective Matriarch of the Mortar family, she does her due diligence to ensure that no disgrace comes to her name. But in spite of this, she may not be as obstinate as others may initially believe. "Victory in all things" is the motto of the Mortar family, and this is something that Angeline has taken to heart, and as such understands that companions elevate one's chances of success. Angeline is a ruler and a ruler who leads only by force has failed. To know when to utilize the eagle and when to utilize the dove applies to all things. But some may see her interactions and be left to wonder: How much of her is sincere?
| History |
Angeline grew up without high expectations. Her father was the black sheep of Kent Mortar's children. He used to be a Knight at A.R.M.S until after some sort of accident which none of her family is willing to address. And thus Angeline knew nothing of it all. Still, her mother and father seemed to be far better for themselves, but Angeline... Angeline was not happy about it. In spite of being one of Kent's grandchildren, she was being treated as if she were a satellite family. There were whispers whenever she walked through their estate and she was tired of it.

And so she took to training. She waltzed straight into their training hall, took hold of a long dowel, and started striking at the the dummies. Her form was terrible, her strikes were unbalanced, and overall she raised less than positive attention for herself. And yet she kept coming back. The determination of a child is a peculiar thing. Perhaps its more akin to sheer stubbornness or foolishness, and yet as others watched her every day attacking that dummy until she nearly passed out, some people gave her a few tips here and there. And after one, they saw her form improve, and after another, her striking speed increased, and again and again. People respond to dogged stubborness far more positively than one may think. Even a little girl from a dishonored branch of the family tree had proven to be capable of great skill. She was going to keep improving, even if she did not possess Prima. No... Perhaps she kept working because becoming a knight was the only way to attain any sense of honor.

As a teen, she devoted much of her time to studying, training, cotillion, and war tactics. Over the time she managed to get quite close to her grandfather who responded well to her devotion to the family. "Angeline, dear, I believe you will bring great things to the Mortar name." And she knew he was right. Her whole life was one big gambit. And now it all came down to whether or not she was capable. Whether she tested positive for Prima brainwaves. It seemed fate was kind to her. Or perhaps fate had also watched her as she worked and it too was swayed by her stubborn diligence and thus the world conspired to make her dream reality, as she finally was a name of her household worthy of praise. And she wasn't going to stop. She was going to make certain that Grandfather Kent saw her as the next head of the family.

Style
Angeline focuses on precise strikes with each one having a deliberate purpose. If it isn't a killing strike, it is a specific step that moves her closer to her end game. While any strike done by any person could consider this true, for Angeline it is an intentional means to incapacitate her target. That small wound at the base of the thigh? Even if small, it will bleed and bleed and bleed thus wearing out her target. And that in turn ensures she can safely secure a much safer final strike.

Devotion
Angeline's Devotions are a manifestation of her goals. She is devoted to her family honor and the Mortar name, perhaps not the Mortar's themselves. Angeline's abilities allow her to manipulate the weight of objects. Weight, of course, is the way that gravity affects an object. She does not influence mass, and thus an item is no more or less dense with her abilities. This allows her to slowdown her opponents, or to make massive leaps into the air, followed shortly by a slamming to the ground with immense force. Yet in spite of the this, all of her movements are elegant and graceful

Her specialty is "Moonlight Sonata." This is when she releases herself from the restraints of much of a celestial body's gravity, allowing her to make large strides and leaps. This of course must be used at opportune times as it makes horizontal movement far more difficult.

Her finisher is "Jupiter: Bringer of Jollity." In an area around her, everything is slammed against the ground as an intense force pulls them to the center of the Earth's gravitational pull. This move as of current moments is indiscriminate, but performing it while airborne allows for her to limit a target's options as she delivers the killing blow.

Personality:


Kind-hearted and loyal. Very likely to put himself into harm's way for the betterment and protection of others, especially those that have done nothing wrong, regardless of circumstances. Selfless, to an almost personally detrimental level. He effectively takes the old Star Trek quote, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" to heart.


History:


Izana was a part of a family of 6 for the most part living in a settlement outside the city walls. His elders understood the risks and still felt that it'd do their children some good to live away from all of the hustle and bustle of the city whilst they grew up, or at least that's always what they told the children. Many of them were engaged in research that was sketchy at best and borderline illegal at worst, but didn't wish for the children to be aware, much less able to be held accountable for their actions, should things go awry. This, however, would seemingly be a double-edged sword, as his younger sister would come down with, and ultimately die because of a completely treatable illness. Treatable, that is, if they had been living in the city at the time. Even following this event, his elders still chose to live away from the city, despite how the three remaining siblings felt. Izana's older sister Yuuki resolved herself to become a highly-skilled doctor, in order to help as many as she can. His older brother, Taiki, on the other hand, chose to take up swordplay, and effectively forced Izana to spar on an almost daily basis, for multiple days at a time. Izana privately hated this, but went along with it, knowing full-well that his brother would be the more likely to make a difference through physical means, but, not certain how to help others himself, went along with it. 'No useless knowledge,' as he kept telling himself.


The three of them planned to go to the city as soon as they legally could after their youngest's untimely demise, either due to a desire to study or to find better ways to train and make a difference. Before they had the chance, however, their settlement is attacked and, effectively wiped off the map, due partially to their being away from home at the time. Taiki having made the trip into the city to take his Prima test as the oldest of the three, while Yuuki and Izana were out running an errand at the time. This negatively affects Izana, making him swear to help as many as he can through whatever means possible, even going so far as to consider helping his sister with her studies as best he can. Unfortunately, however, they got separated very shortly after departing, leaving each of them uncertain to the ultimate fate of their siblings. Carrying on with his original plan, Izana arrives in the city, and takes up odd jobs here and there for those that need them done, regardless of what they are, both to earn a living, as well as to create a form of reserve to potentially start researching methods through which he can make a difference. Due, likely, to the events that saw him to the city, he missed the initial invite by a little over a year. He ultimately tested positive once he got the chance to take the exam, and through the initial stages of his training he learned of devotions, something he was able to pick up far quicker than he was swordplay.


Eventually, Izana hopes to learn what has happened to his siblings, and discover whether they were successful in their own endeavors or not, as well as potentially bring them to the city if they haven't arrived yet. As it stands currently, however, Izana is unsponsored, and for better or worse still using the 'Kunigiri' name. Supportive of the idea of both the king and Fenneth's ideas of expansion, but with the caveat that such an expansion should only be attempted once it's certain that those that are brought into the protection of the city can be protected to the same standard as before, while not weakening the security of everyone overall, which he feels can happen if expansion is done too quickly. Izana also happens to lack the commitment to conflict and fighting that would see himself successful anywhere near the Mortars, and lacks any of the religious conviction he'd likely need to get along perfectly with the Lightwalls. He would also be hesitant to accept adoption to any of the three either, without communicating with his siblings first, as they're all that's left of the 'Kunigiri' line, and getting adopted into any one would likely affect the others standing and relations.

Style:


Izana primarily fights through the use of devotions, but falls back on swordplay when he needs to or devotions themselves aren't proving effective. He is known to combine the two, almost like enchantments or augments as well when needed. While not a particularly practiced tactician as of yet, He does look to exploit the weaknesses of 'enemies' and shield ally weaknesses where he can. Not being particularly tanky himself, he works better in a group, and preferably one that can help keep assailants off of him for the most part. He can complement this by giving supportive enhancing effects to those he's fighting with like speed, defense or agility increases as well. (FFXIV's Red Mage loosely used for Inspiration here)

At first approach, Lumikki appears haughty and flippant, even arrogant. She has little time for foolishness, which for her is defined as anything that isn't fighting or training to fight. She can go from flighty insouciance to terrifying intensity at the flip of a switch - a highly unnerving experience until you get used to her moods. She feels deeply, and is both generous and loyal to her friends, but her sole overriding passion is to become the greatest warrior in Civilis.


History:
The Heartblossom family is a cadet branch of the Mortars, who are perhaps even more martially focused. While the Mortar line covers all aspects of the military, the Heartblossoms seem obsessed with single combat and individual prowess. They have produced some of the greatest Prima-wielding talents in the history of Civilis, and several of its top duelists. Brought up in this intensely competitive culture, Lumikki may be its apotheosis. She and her elder brother were personally brought up by the family head, their grandfather; their father had disappeared on an expedition outside the walls, and they were the heirs to the family's fighting system, the Eight Trigram Madness. At some point, her brother died under murky circumstances, and Lumikki left the family to take service in the Academy.

Style:
Lumikki practices an exclusive fighting system called the Eight Trigram Madness. Eight Trigram Madness is firmly based on a classical foundation, but takes it several steps further. It emphasizes the use of short swords and rapidly closing the distance to one's opponent, fighting within their circle of power and working the twin blades like a combine harvester of doom.
She is determined to show the world that the Eight Trigram Madness is the greatest martial art ever devised, and to become its greatest practitioner.

Devotions:
"Golden Bell Cover" - A defensive technique, this uses the blades to form a whirling, seething sheath of metal that deflects attacks or cuts off anything approaching too closely.
"Eight Steps Traverse All Under Heaven" - A movement technique that increases one's running speed, leap great distances and so on. At higher levels, becomes a "flash step" entry technique.
"Eight-armed Queen of Heaven" - When Lumikki wishes to increase her offensive power, she directs Prima into her blades, allowing her to use up to eight swords nigh-simultaneously by releasing and then re-grasping them so quickly that it is as if she had hands on all eight of the swords - in effect juggling the swords in a flashing display of lethality. She can use this even without the aid of her sheath (see below) but has trained extensively to include it in the technique as well.
"Eight Trigram Hell" - This ultimate technique integrates the "Eight Steps", "Queen of Heaven" and "Golden Bell" techniques to get into hugging range of an opponent and prevent them from escaping and also receiving external help. It traps Lumikki and her opponent in a space bound by arms' reach, where she can flay them with her full array of blades. Using this technique represents her willingness to enter the Asura Realm, the Hell of Revenge, and accepting the risk that she might never return.

Weapon of Choice:
The Eight Blades - Lumikki keeps these short Disatrite-forged dao swords in a belt-sheath system that stores the blades across her back, moving with her as though part of her body and providing passive armour. They auto-deploy as needed, and she's trained the learning system of the sheath to enhance her techniques, especially "Golden Bell Cover", where the blades parry as required.

Social and outgoing, Kaili acts very casual to just about everyone. Thus, she may come across as irreverent, often unintentionally. In her mind, being respectful means treating people as if they're your equal. Of course, she recognizes that elders, leaders or specialists are more skilled, wise, and experienced, and trusts their expertise – especially in urgent situations. However, she believes that anyone, regardless of their position, can benefit from hearing different or new ideas. She values candid discussion, because where she comes from, that was often how difficult situations were resolved.

Despite her time at the Academy, Kaili hasn't truly integrated the city folks' notions of formality and hierarchy into her world-view. To her, they often seem standoffish or overbearing. She's also wary of their politicking, yet may not have a choice but to get involved. Ultimately, she is loyal to her people and their interests. So, she's doing her best to keep balance between playing by Civilis' rules and preventing becoming just another inconsequential gear in the machine that is their kingdom.

History:

Kaili was born and raised outside of the walls, by a group of people residing by the seaside. They were semi-nomadic, moving from place to place, mainly to avoid the danger of Titans. In the past few years, they'd been residing close enough to Civilis to come into contact with them. Eventually, Kaili's people entered into negotiations with Civilis – some protection in exchange for their naval expertise. Though their technology may have been nowhere as advanced as Civilis', they'd been fishers, whalers, mariners for decades. As such they had valuable knowledge of the land and certain Titans' movements Civilis could use. Due to patrols sent by the latter, a new port town quickly grew – Relevora. Even among outsider settlements, it wasn't the largest one, though it was arguably the quickest growing one.

Stability did come at the cost of some of their independence, however. Relevorans or simply Sea Dwellers – as they came to be known to Civilis – had a vastly different culture and understanding of the world. After all, their ancestors were either those who'd disagreed with the strict rules city states adopted upon their formation in regards to use of Prima or those who were not fond of the emergent class-society. However, at least for Relevorans, it is the case that although once upon a time, they had their own Protectors to oppose the Titans, but the numbers of them had petered out through the years into near-nonexistence. Before Kaili was born, it'd been several years since someone with high Prima Brain Waves emerged. Now she and any others like her have become the one hope for her people to maintain their identity when they all inevitably become subsumed into Civilis. Much is expected especially of Kaili, who is the youngest among their numbers, and the one who went through the whole curriculum at the Academy at A.R.M.S.

~ Abilities ~

Style:

Kaili is a mid- to long range specialist, who primarily uses her devotions and her thrown weapon as support to bring down hostiles. She has trained with spears and javelins at the academy, but melee combat is a last resort for her. She equates fighting with hunting; the prey's movements should be predicted, their strengths accounted for, their weaknesses exploited. If a one-shot kill is impossible (as it usually is with Titans), then she aims to pin, disable, injure, bleed or otherwise weaken the enemy and limit their options until the final blow can be delivered. She's used to cooperating with others, and is fairly adaptable in her plans. She may offer suggestions to teammates if she thinks of a combination play to execute.

Kaili's Devotions take the form of thin metal strings she can create, manipulate, and enhance freely. She will often bolster and anchor her harpoon with these strings, so that when her weapon is thrown, she can keep fueling magic into it. That ensures her weapon will strike through, piercing and pinning a foe (or at least a part of them, such as their limb). It also means she can withdraw her harpoon and guide it back to herself when needed. Kaili often relies solely on her spells to create netting or lay razor-sharp wires for opponents to get entangled by, hampering their movements or cutting them open. As her metal threads can be woven together, she can also use them to create pathways for her allies.

Parasite. Once an enemy has at least one open wound, she can send multiple strings into it, which will subsequently worm their way into the enemy's body, spreading through it, slowly destroying it from the inside. Takes longer the less central the injury or the less injured the opponent overall is. Rather insidious, though can take a while to work to its full effect.

Garrote. Anchoring her wires to a stable foundation, they proceed to wrap around part of a hostile, disabling them. The more points she anchors her spells at, and the more threads she overlaps, the tighter and more effective the result. This trap can be broken out of, however at least initially, further struggle exacerbates the damage – sometimes this can outright remove an opponent's limb.

Heavenly Downfall. Her finisher move. Creating multiple bundles of threads, she weaves them together, creating a volley of 'arrows' to be fired at once. This creates a frightful barrage, piercing through an enemy in several places. While a fast and powerful spell, it expends quite some energy. Moreover, Kaili must be precise and accurate to ensure the foe's vital points are successfully targeted.

Arden is cool and level headed. He's well liked as Arden is rather polite but he's also a stickler
for following the rules. He doesn't mind bending them from time to time but frowns
upon anyone who tries to take over. His sense of humor is pretty bad as some jokes go straight over his
head. Can be too stoic and too stressed out as he's often picked as the leader for his
natural ability to bring others together. He also hates pompous assholes and
will rip someone a new one when needed.

-History-
Arden's original family name was Vanderbelt. His family was one of the ones that joined up to become
part of the Fenneth household. His nuclear family is quite small, just him and his parents, but his extended family
is full of knights and other hot headed newcomers to the scene. He wasn't apart of some form of sad
home life, in fact his home life was good. His parents cared for him and they were never without,
but it was still hard watching his loved ones be pushed around by other houses and given
the run around to try and stop their progress. Arden's life didn't really get dificult
until his powers developed.

Perhaps it was due to the sheer force of his Prima but Arden developed a couple years earlier at the age of
15. It was quite clear from the beginning he would need extra guidance in keeping things under control.
His powers were explosive and destructive enough that Arden started to get panic attacks
from the fear of hurting his dear loved ones after a close miss with his mother.
Eventually Arden was taken in by the state until his powers could be properly
stabilized. When he turned 17 Arden joined the knights as the probability of him living
any semblance of normal with the strength of his powers was next to none. He would either
spend the rest of his life as a test subject or help fight against those that harmed his home so he chose
to be proactive about his life and fight back.

combining his devotions into his fighting style which consists of mixed martial arts. He favors moves that flow

Replik is often portrayed to be well-mannered, friendly, and charismatic in his interactions with strangers and friends alike. He can be very candid when voicing disagreements but never forces his point of view on other people. He presents himself with a strong sense of justice and detests any form of inequality in society. As such, he won't hesitate to call out any questionable behaviour, especially deeds done by high society folk.

That being said, he often wonders how much of his personality is just the result of imprinting leading him to experience impostor syndrome. He feels like he is living a lie, acting as someone else, never having anything to his own self as everything he has or ever will have was given to him because of the original rather than his own effort. Though, there is one thing he didn't inherit from the original.

The one thing he feels that makes him feel truly alive is whenever he fights. While the original was very hesitant to enter combat, seeing it as a last resort, Replik sees it as the most favourable outcome. It is the only thing that separates him from the original, the only thing he knows is real. He has killed many people in his missions, and he doesnt mind adding a few more to the list to finish his objectives.


History:

Replica #7 was the "name" assigned to him at his artificial birth from a vat tank. He was one of the many clones created under the Rebirth Initiative, a project sponsored by Elysium Industries meant to preserve the genes of the strongest warriors of the land, irrespective of their families.

Clones made from this initiative breed for battle and complete obedience, serving whatever purpose the higher ups had for them, be it bodyguard duty or supplementing existing armies. Like many of his kind, he grew up at an accelerated rate, roughly twice as fast as a normal human. They started their training regime as soon as their bodies were deemed mature enough, where they would train alongside their "brothers" and "sisters".

Besides extensive physical training, he also underwent personality imprinting to make him more similar to the original, with some modifications to make him more likeable to the public.
At the age of 18, when their powers fully manifested, the clones were often sent on black ops missions, eliminating threats in unconventional ways or "accidents". Eventually, the clones from the same template would need to fight each other to determine which one of them would become the "face" of the specific template. The winner would be introduced to the public as the successor of the original and spokesperson of Elysium Industries, while the others remained in the shadows, to be used as replacements or expandable soldiers.

Unfortunately for 7, he got careless and dropped his guard at the last second of this examination, letting one of the other clones win. Though this result wouldn't matter since said clone eventually got himself killed after trying to take on a dragon alone. This left 7 as "best" replacement, and thanks to his training and personality imprinting, no one would notice any differences.

Shortly after his public appearance (despite not actually being him), he was eventually invited into A.R.M.S academy, where he would further improve his skills, or at the very least generate some positive press for Elysium Industries.

Style:
Cunning and calculated, Replik wastes little energy in moves, preferring to strike when the enemy is attacking to catch them off guard. He rarely relies on straightforward tactics, often using his clones to mislead and redirect his opponents. He prefers parrying attacks instead of outright blocking or dodging, seeing it as a chance to improve his skills and show the opponents how outclassed they are. That being said, when caught flat-footed he is not above relying on power alone to brute force his way out of the situation, even if it means reducing everything around him to dust.

Devotions: Devoted to finding purpose in life
Heat Riser
Whenever Replik deals and receives damage, he gains heat. The amount of heat he gains corresponds to the strength of the attack he delivers and receives. As his heat rises, so does his strength and agility. He can expend heat in the form of energy blasts or empowering his melee strikes.

Fiery Clones
Ironically, one of his techniques involves creating flaming duplicates of himself. These duplicates are much more fragile than real bodies, but can still pack a punch at high levels of heat. He is able to have four duplicates active at one time. While active, he can swap places with his duplicates for tricky maneuvers. Upon taking enough damage, the duplicates would violently explode in a blaze of glory.

Finisher: Fire Bird's Indignation
Replik soars high into the air and begins releasing a massive wave of fire around him in the shape of a phoenix. Absorbing the wave of fire into his body, he would extend both his arms, concentrating all power into the palm of his hands. He would release the energy in the form of a large stream of a vermillion blast. Half way through the attack, Replik would dive into the energy stream, with a devastating kick. Upon impact, the kick would release a powerful blast, reducing anything and everything within its radius to ash.

Finger tips of his gauntlets have sharp talons used for inflicting more serious wounds. Can be enhanced with his heat.

The Rebirth Initiative had a few templates that they wished to preserve. Replica 7's template was from Ankh Fenix, the phoenix warrior who died slaying a dragon. Like the other clones, 7 was genetically modified to be superior, specifically in his case, he was modified to be able to withstand greater heat for prolonged combat situations. That being said, the Fenix clones have a reputation to have potent powers but short life expectancy.

Doesn't actually have wings. Can only fly with the armor. (For now).

Nao is sort of an oddball. She's not necessarily a bad person but she has trouble getting her feelings
across. With her lack of social development social cues are basically lost on her so things like sarcasm aren't always
understood. She also doesn't really get jokes unless its word play or puns. She can be very sweet and
often shows her affection in other ways such as trying to read up about your issues, listening,
or offering horribly baked goods. She rarely smiles but when she does it's
a sign she is both comfortable and happy, which is rare. Hesitates to get too close to
others in fear of being exploited like she has been for most of her life.

-History-
Nao was born to two parents who lived as a far branch under the house of Lightwall. Her parents were both researchers
and Nao was more of a genetic experiment than a planned joy. Her parents spent most of their time with her
testing her abilities, trying to judge where she would end up, and how they could best exploit
her towards gaining fame amongst the Lightwalls. Her parents wanted the fame and
glory of being good researchers, so much so that when Nao proved to be a an experiment that needed
time they abandoned her at home with a piss poor excuse for a nanny. At the age of 4, when
Nao was just starting to come out of her shell, everything was ripped away from her.

Her parents, in an attempt to make something extraordinary, blew up their lab. What actually happened
to her parents not even Nao knows, but she heard whispers that the bodies were never found. After
the explosion Nao was given up to the state. The Lightwalls wanted nothing to do with
such a failure of an edge branch and claimed that Nao had nothing to do with them. She became
a ward of the state and was further confined to their facilities. There was hardly any human interaction
Nao never really learned how to talk to other people. Her first real interactions were with
Arden when he arrived at the facility and even then the conversation was limited.
Instead, Nao spent most of her time reading and exploring the world of facts and science,
diving into things that could be for certain known. She decided to become a knight in hopes of
getting out of her shell a little bit and also because Arden had decided to become one. She
didn't want to be left alone and followed her only known acquaintance into the Academy at ARMS.

~ Abilities ~

-Style-
Nao's style of fighting can be compared to dance, only its far more deadly. Filled with spins and
flare she is seen as a flower of death on the battle field. She specializes in aoe attacks around herself and
hooking in her prey. While most of her fighting style relies on the use of her weapon her legs
do come into play with powerful combination attacks. Is well versed in many combat
styles and weapons due to free time.

Nao's devotions center around Ice Manipulation and Creation

Ice Blade
With an open palm Nao coats the edges of her blade with ice. The feeling on contact with other's skin
is something akin to the cold burn of dry ice and it leaves behind a stinging pain.
It also creates little snowflakes that get caught in the flurry of her spins

Ice Make
Named after an anime she watched. Creates a structure out of ice to benefit her fighting
abilities, usually a sword or temporary shield of some sort. Functions as strengthened
ice and disappears after a certain amount of time or if she creates a different
object.

Ice Spike
Creates a flurry of needle sharp ice picks that hover around her, usually around max 10. She volleys them
either one by one at an intended target from mid range or all at once. Can be used as
sort of a rotating shield around her if needed and can sync up.

Hailstorm
Her finishing move. Creates a wave of needle sharp ice picks about a foot in diameter
that rain down from the sky. She rains them down with little to no mercy on her targets,
leaving behind icy patches where the large spikes contact the ground
