LOCATION:: Lunch Room COMPANY:: Remy and Alkalb MOOD:: Trying His Best OUTFIT:: Adventure

Rook smirked, quite smugly, as the cultist skulked away. Served them right. They were a beacon of false hope. They made promises that they couldn’t hold up on. Tristan wasn’t saving them from the institute. Ralyn had come up with the plan. The others had helped coordinate it. The “Shining Grace of the Lord” was a giant shit stain on their effort. Why had they invited Tristan? Did they hate themselves so much that they needed to be reminded of it? Rook didn’t know. And as long as he never saw him again—Rook didn’t care.

Rook cracked a wry smile at Remy. “Hell would just be this fucking place, on a loop,” without Remy, Evie, Iris, and Mall—that’s what Rook failed to say.

The others spoke among themselves and Rook returned to devouring his food. He wasn’t an introspective person. Most of the time that he was quiet he was eating or possibly scheming. Yet, at this moment he couldn’t help but having some regretful pangs. He wasn’t on the same team as most of the others. All he had was Iris. Which, considering his current physical state and his usual demeanor, it was a good thing. Would Remy, Evie, and Mall be okay? They were going to be stuck with Alkalb. Rook gave the man-beast a sideways glance before returning to his food. Remy, Evie, and Mall weren’t that powerful. They may need him, and they wouldn’t have him. He slowly mixed his food with his fork.

Nope. Nope. Thoughts like that weren’t going to interrupt his food. He gulped down the rest and looked up in enough time to see Remy panic. Everything happened so fast. The freckled giant scurried away. Evie left the lunchroom, and Iris followed her. Alkalb leapt from the table and became almost indistinguishable from an animal. Rook froze.

Remy apologized, but a melancholic look was plastered on his face. Rook glanced between Alkalb and him. Fuck the man-dog, Rook thought. Rook wasn’t going to see Remy until after they escaped. What if something happened to him? Rook didn’t want this to be the last fond memory of his friend.

He stood slowly, lifting his hands. “It’s alright. I’m just going to get him,” Rook said to Alkalb. He slowly walked towards Remy. He hardened his skin just in case. He hoped Alkalb wouldn’t make a scene. They were so close to getting out of here.

“Hey, Remy,” Rook said, approaching him. He slid his hand around the other boy’s wrist. “You want to sit down? Somewhere else but there? I can make those kids,” he said, jerking his head towards a table occupied by the kids he terrorized earlier, “get the fuck out of the way. You can invite Alkalb. We call all sit-down and seem normal.” He then tried to give a calming smile, but his smiles were never sweet. They were embittered, broken, and hurt. Yet, he tried his best for Remy. He didn’t want to half-ass this moment. It might be the last moment they ever saw each other.
Donovan smirked at Tehuri's words. "Well, if they do want us to leave... then they might just get their wish." He whispered the last words, playing with his fork. Deep down, Donnie was hoping that the escape would go smoothly. Even though he did love chaos and insanity, this was something he would rather have no issues with getting it done. He looked around the lunchroom, seeing everyone else. Donovan looked towards the entrance and gave a heavy exaggerated sigh when he saw "OH Chosen One" come in with his flock of idiots. "Looks like The Holy One has grace us with his presence." He smirked, using his powers to spill juice on the floor... causing one of the followers to fall to the ground. "Ha!" He looked back at Tehuri and the table next to his. Apparently Akiva had the same idea in mind of hurting the followers, since the guy punched one of the kids in the face. "Nice Shot!" He yelled out, laughing even more. "Thanks T." Donovan used his powers to move the food to his table. "Damn, I am one lazy motherfucker, but I love it." He started eating the food like it was cake and ice cream.

Donnie was kind of sad to hear that not even Tehuri had heard from Lennie yet. Lennie didn't even want to train with her, and Donnie knew that the two always trained together. Say what you want about Donovan, which people do, but even he had some regrets. Well, he didn't regret the Breeding Session with Tehuri, that was amazing, but he did regret what he did to his best friend. He couldn't do anything about it now, not knowing where the boy was. Donovan noticed how Tehuri didn't like how Jezebel was clingy onto Matty Boy. He tried not to laugh at how territorial she got when it came to Matty Boy. "Wo there... relax, relax." He grinned at her.

Donovan frozed in his spot for a second, when he noticed a familiar body past right by him. It was Lennie, his ex-best friend. The dude was soo childish, that he even sat at the far end of their table with his back to Donnie and Tehuri. Donnie watched him speak to Akiva, Jezebel and Matty Boy. "Well, hi to you too." Donovan knew he was in the wrong, but he is a Prideful Lion and he wouldn't take disrespect soo easily.

Instead of throwing Lennie towards the wall, he stood up. He held on to his now empty plate and Tehuri's empty place. "I gotta throw these out, see you later T." He gave an annoyed sigh and floated backwards towards the trash. While he was moving towards the trash can, he noticed that Remy was freaking out for the millionth time. He wouldn't touch that one with a sarcastic joke, he just floated past the commotion.

After he had thrown the plates away, he looked at his table. He didn't have time to be ignored by his ex-best friend, so he floated in place. He spotted Harley, his friend since they were little and his group member. She was sitting with Moody Mallory and Manly Mina, the too most antisocial subjects in this place. He started to swim, or look like he was swimming, towards Harley and the other two girls. He made a SPLASH! sound as he planted himself just above the table, right in front of Harley. "Hey Harley Babe, why are you sitting with these two?" He looked over his shoulder at Mallory and Mina. "I mean... just look at them." He laughed. "I'm just playing with you two." He really wasn't.

He planted himself in the seat right next to Harley, giving her a side hug. He rested his arms on the table, turning his face towards the girl. "So... Bleu seems to still hate me, I mean it wasn't like I picked T and did it." He shook his head, his silver-white hair falling into his eyes, before he moved it back up. "I wonder when he'll just get over it, if it was the other way around, I would have shook his hand. HELL, I would have threw a damn party for him."

He took Mallory's fork, twirling in his hand. He was thinking about what he would do on the outside. Would he go find a real life? What would he do out there, would anything or anyone be waiting out there for him? He didn't know, but not knowing was the reason why he wanted to go and search. Once they got out of here, all Donnie wanted to do was explore the world and be free for once in his damn life. He also couldn't wait to meet new people, hopefully he would meet some super sexy girls and guys. He really couldn't wait for that moment. It was tough being soo damn sexy, and most of the people in the facility were like friends and family... so he couldn't sleep with all of them, not that he hasn't tried with some before.

Donovan placed Mallory's fork back on her plate, not even caring if she didn't want him to touch her stuff, which she probably didn't. "Harley, do you think what I did was wrong? I mean I really didn't have a choice." Well, he could have not slept with Tehuri... YEAH RIGHT! That would have been a bigger regret than actually sleeping with her.

Nikolett had been to the other tables, speaking with some of the other subjects. They were fun to speak with, since she usually stuck with her own small group of friends and what not. She is a social butterfly, she couldn't go a day without speaking to at least three people. "Hey Kimmy!" Nikolett waved at one of the other subjects, a girl who had the power to change the color of any and everything. Usually when Nikolett needed a new style, she would ask Kimmy to fix her up. Kimmy was the one that did her hair like it was now. Nikolett loved the pink and blue look, it reminded her of fun and craziness, which she was her specialty.

Nikolett went over to the girl, giving her a big hug and jumping up and down at the same time. "Dollface! You look beautiful." Nikolett gave a small twirl as Kimmy and the other girls around her started to clap. She loved these girls, they were just like her, hyper and spunky. She took a seat next to them, smiling as they talked. While she sat there with the girls, she noticed that Akiva, the Medic in her group was confronting one of Tristan's creepy followers. Nikolett didn't like those guys just as much as everyone else. She didn't expect for Akiva to actually punch the poor kid. She jumped up and gasped at seeing the blood on the floor. "Oh my Gosh." She couldn't believe that he had just did that.

Nikolett hated violence, and to just see it right in front of her... it was unsettling. She turned away from the scene, not wanting to see it anymore. She started to play with her flower hairband. Whenever she was nervous or upset, Nikolett would always play with her hair or look at the ground. She hated to see pain or abuse, it was like something in her would go off and shut her down when she saw someone in pain.

It seemed like today was the day when everyone wanted to act out, because next Remy started to freak. Nikolett always liked Remy, he seemed to be a very gentle person, but he did have moments like the one right now. She felt bad for the poor guy, he couldn't get away from the undead evil beings that tormented him everyday. If only she could use her Toxikinesis on the undead entities, she would get rid of them for Remy.

As she watched his outburst, Nikolett couldn't help but notice that Rook was over there as well. She thought it was cute how he cared for Remy. She smirked, moving her hair behind her ear as she looked at the ground. "Oooh, Niko has a crush!" Nikolett eyes grew wide. "Shut up, don't say that." She playfully slapped Kimmy on the arm.

Nikolett stood up. She wanted to see if Remy was okay. That wasn't the only reason she wanted to go over there, but it was one at least. Seeing as Alkalb was with them, like he always was, Nikolett moved slowly. She didn't need him trying to attack her, even though most knew that she wouldn't even hurt a fly. "Remy... are you okay?" She stood there, trying stop her face from turning red and blushing at the sight of Rook.

Tristan sat at his table, which was right in front of the window that shined the brightest light on them. He took off his hat, his blonde hair falling precisely under his neck. He watched as the True Believers, some of them, went over to different tables. They didn't get anyone to listen to them, but he had expected that much. No one would want to come to the light, until they were actually ready for it. He sat down and started to eat his food, him and his followers usually got better food, which just proves that they were doing the right thing. He sliced into his food and took tiny bites, as the True Believes that sat with him spoke to one another and ate.

While he was sitting there, Tristan heard a horrible cracking sound. He shot his eyes up towards where the sound had come from. Everything was in slow motion, he could see the demon portrayed as a civilized human attack one of his followers. The insolence that the beast had showed, it proved that sin ran rampant in this place. Tristan dropped his fork and knife on his plate, getting up and going over to his fallen and abused follower. With the True Believers flanking him on both sides, he went over to the bleeding individual. "Hold still, My Child." He smiled at the boy.

Tristan hovered his hands over the boy's broken nose. He closed his eyes, and his hands started to glow bright white. A few seconds later, the boy's nose was as good as new. The boy gave Tristan a hug, crying into his arms. "It is alright now, Our Lord and Savior has helped me heal you." He smiled at the boy, holding his face in his hands. Tristan than planted a kiss on the male's forehead, before turning to the attacker. "Heathen!" The followers hissed the word, one by one, before moving away.

With his follower now healed up, Tristan and the others started to walk back to their table. He was about to sit down, but than he saw an unusual but magnificent light coming from a table downwards. He spotted one of his followers in front of what seemed to be Ralyn. He had his hands in the air and he had light shooting out of them. The whole True Believers and Tristan gasped in shock and astonishment.

He couldn't believe this, being that he was usually only with his followers, Tristan didn't know what most of the other subjects powers were. He didn't expect someone to have such a grand power as control over light, which was by far the Holiest Power he had seen, other than his own. Tristan nearly ran over to Ralyn, holding his hands together. "YOU MUST BE ONE OF THE OTHER CHOSEN ONES!" He smiled a big and genuine smile of joy and happiness. "I knew I wasn't the only one here that Our Lord and Savior sent to save the Chosen Few. We must protect one another and get rid of all the sins." The followers nodded their heads, as they sat down at Ralyn's table, with Tristan still staring up at the man.

It had taken a while indeed before Fays 'voice' resonated in his mind, he didn't look the slightest bit affected by it. However what did affect him was that he was suddenly flocked by the stupid followers of Tristan. Sure, he could have foreseen this happening. At least they weren't bothering anyone else anymore. His eyes darted towards Akiva who had just beaten one of the followers and onto Remy who freaked out over something only he could see. So much chaos already, and the escape had yet to come. It seemed like everyone was on the edge, more than usual. He shook his head slightly, they had to keep low profile. If the scientists... his thoughts were broken when Tristan himself moved over. The young cheery voice interupting his dark trail of mind.

His stare moved over to the young one that almost seemed to stumble over his own feet to get towards him. His lips curled up into a charming smile once again. This was truly perfect for this insanely religious kid to throw himself without any defense at him. Fay, you better make sure you are within five minutes making an appearance in the training room for the escape or I shall kill this religious kid. What was his name again... He stopped his message as he looked over towards the blond angelic boy. Those eyes big with trust and awe, it made Ralyns skin crawl. However he did sit down calmly, no longer alone as he had hoped for. Just a few more minutes before the buzzer would sound and they would be send on their way. A few more minutes before a bigger chaos than ever before would ensue...

The light from his hands had died, almost the same moment as Tristan had come over. "You shouldn't put any faith in me... It is those that are closest to God who fall the hardest" He spoke solemn. He stil held the same charming smile on his face though as he ate the last bits of his food. Oh, he had read the bible... He had always been trying to understand why or how people could but strenght and fait out of written text. How they could believe in something that was only written down in some book. All while there were so many scientific facts that prove another theory completely. The answer to that was something he still had not found.

Just as the buzzer went off he took the last bite from his food. This was gonna be the moment of truth. The leaders would now pick up all the members. And hopefully their leader would finally make an appearance. It was important to now get subtle into position, not to get to eager. The system update would start in just a bit and right that moment.. that moment they would have to strike and just run for it, literally. They had to get as fast as possible out of here and towards that oak tree. Even then, they would have to keep moving. No way the scientists were gonna let them escape that easily.

Ralyn moved up to make his way towards the training room. Maybe he would be able to pick up some actually weapons before escaping. Most of them were sharp, even for training. He didn't say another word to Tristan nor his followers, knowing they both would go the same way, since the Group Fight Boxes were almost next to the Training area. Such joy. Silently he put away the empty tray, before leaving the lunchroom with the stream of people. Not really paying attention to anything, as usual. FAY! One last reminder for their leader, it was not his job to get them together. He would just go for, Molly would catch up anyway. He didn't rush to get over to the training room, moving slightly reluctant even. He rarily liked getting physical with anything or anyone. His cardio work out being the only exception. Besides his most important weapon should be somewhere near there, Molly.

Tehuri watched how Donnie made a follower fall over spilled juice. Childish. Yet she didn't say a thing about it. "No problem, Donnie. It is a shame if it would go to waste" She sayd as he lifted her tray and made it float this way. If she had his powers she would probably do the same. Ugh how easy life would be then! "Except for in the bedroom" She shot back with a knowing smile, before her attention was taken away by Mathias again.

The change in Matzi's expression had been small, but enough to reassure her as her face softened again. "I am glad to hear that" She mused lightly. Still there was a worried undertone, Mathias was uncomfortable. He should have chosen to sit at their table, at least they would have let him in peace. Her eyebrow quirked at the sharp look Akiva gave her. Jeez she was only giving him a compliment and just then she stiffened, turning back to Donnie again. She could hear him, smell him, even before she saw him coming around the corner. Her emerald eyes automatically moving up to the one that haunted her dreams like those so called creeps hunted the necrokinetic boy. She could make out the smell of water on his hear, he had just showered. Oh, how she loved his smell when he was freshly washed up.

Her emerald stare moved to Reyna, she shared his smell however vaguely. What was it were her and smells today?! It seemed like her nose was much more sensitive than normal. She waited, almost anxious as Lennie chose where to sit. Of course he was called out by the elites table. She had even been ignored by them, while she used to be loved as if she was their Queen. With Lennie as her King of course. However things had changed, drastically since than, the reason sitting currently across of her on the table. For a moment holding onto the graps of what she knew was false hope when his scent pleasantly curled around her as he sat down. Effectively turned away from them and not wasting a second to start a conversation with Akiva.

Tehuri didn't react to the passive agressive remark of the white haired boy. Oh she could deal with agression, violence, sharp tongues, but passive agressiveness? Nope, that was gonna drive her crazy. And Lennie knew that. He knew that very well. She gave a soft nod as Donnie moved up, or rather said floated around. "You better make sure I see you at the oak tree" She mumbled in reply as he moved away, leaving her alone at the table. Her back turned towards the others. Never before had she felt so lonely, while surrounded with so many people. If she could only talk with Lennie, but she knew she wouldn't say a thing, nor would he listen. This whole escape was gonna be lovely.

The black haired female grabbed her strap with throwing daggers, pulling one leg up on the bench to attatch them around her upperleg again. Once Lennie had told her that was one of the sexiest things she could do without getting naked and a soft smile came to her lips. Even if he wouldn't say it, would he still feel that way? She could see Akiva bowing all gentleman like towards Jezebel, basically pushing his ass up against Lennie. Her blood was boiling within her veins but she kept herself calm as she moved her leg down again. These two were her group mates, and she needed Lennie. Even now, always. Time to be the more mature one, because these boys desperately needed that. "Lennox..." Okay maybe not that mature. God she hadn't used that name since... never actually as she couldn't pronounce the 'ox' sound when she was younger and thus had started calling him Lennie. "What do you think you will need? The usual?"

It was something they always discussed before fighting. How far they would share their abilities. Usual it was only hearing and sight enhancement and she would get her precious metal claws. However she could as well be shot down immediately as she wasn't so sure that Lennie would take her offer this time. The buzzer went off, indicating Lunchtime was over. Meaning they had to go to the place she was least looking forward to. Why did they had to escape from the Breeding Wing again? As she waited for her answer, she looked to her 'little brother'. "Matzi, blind them with your kindness" She said only. She hated it that she would not be able to be near him during the escape, but the plan had been made and they had to stick with it.

If Remy had a flaw, that was definitely his tendency to profusely apologize. And he did that a lot whenever he felt mortified when something like this happened. He was ashamed of himself a lot for being so jumpy, for not managing to get used to the dead even after so many years, for not being braver. But then again, maybe you never get used to them after being locked into a dark basement as a five year old by your cousin for hours... with a Creep that hung himself. Yeah, that might have had something do with it. He still sometimes had nightmares about it.

"I'm sorry," the necrokinetic repeated as he watched Evie lean down and start picking up the shattered pieces of the milk glass, "I didn't mean to cause you trouble, I-- I'm sorry." It was like a broken record, going back to that same word over and over again. Sorry this, sorry that. Burning cheeks and cast down eyes, awkward fumbling and nervously rubbing the back of the neck, fingers running through the undercut. Remy felt the gazes on him and did his best not to look at anyone in the eyes, feeling like an idiot once again. Necrokinetic who was afraid of the dead? What a joke. Ha, ha. Pathetic. He just wanted to crawl back to his dorm room and make himself into a blanket burrito, maybe schedule the escape for another day. "Just... sorry."

As he finally dared to look up from the ground, he saw Evie wiping her eyes repeatedly. It seemed like her drawback had come already, which was why she was crying. That just made Remy feel even worse. If he would have not had been born with this curse, he would have not been such inconvenience to Evie. Her emotional turbulences made her seem a bit erratic, as it would have not been the first or the last she would come crying to his room, sit on his lap and beat Remy's chest and yell at him first and then hug him the next in a hysteric laughing fit. It could be terrifying for those who were not used to it, making the duo seem like they were insane both; the schizophrenic boy and the bipolar girl. No wonder they had felt a connection on the first day. Evie stood up and mouthed at Remy that she needed to leave and started making her quick exit, Iris close behind her. He was just glad somebody would be there to look after her, because he would be probably useless. After all, they were both having their own personal meltdowns at the given moment. This day was starting to just look better and better.

"It’s alright. I’m just going to get him," Rook spoke up, meaning his words to the snarling Alkalb who looked like he was on the edge, and then approached the tall young man. "Hey, Remy," the scarred one said, sounding surprisingly careful with his words, almost gentle even. Rook reached out to curl his fingers around Remy's wrist, mostly around the fabric of his blue sweater, but his ring finger and little finger were touching the bare skin. The surprising touch sent a jolt through the necrokinetic, almost electric, making him visibly tense up. Remy blinked, seeming to be back to reality from his dark thoughts and looking down on older male who he was dwarfing by good five inches or so. "You want to sit down? Somewhere else but there? I can make those kids," he said, jerking his head towards a table occupied by the kids he terrorized earlier, "get the fuck out of the way. You can invite Alkalb. We call all sit-down and seem normal."

Rook shot him one of those cryptic smiles Remy had never quite managed to figure out over the few years they had come to know each other. His scars tended to make his facial expressions look more intimidating, sometimes a bit distorting them, but Remy was quite confident that he had learned to read the white haired man well enough to understand his body language and look past most of his antics to understand the true meaning behind all the snark. However, this was not one of them. Rook practically smiled like the freaking Mona Lisa, and behind the small curve of those double cut lips lied a lot of secrets. Words that were left unsaid, insecurities left unshared, fears that went unseen. There were many things about Rook Malik that Remy had not unearthed yet, because it was not like he was quite the type to share anything personal. So perhaps it was safe to say that what Remy had found the most fascinating about Rook since they had started conversing those few years ago were these said smiles. They were somewhat rueful, no matter if Rook was even laughing, they still were. It was most definitely due to all the heavy experiments he had gone through, and Remy really hoped that if-- when they were out of here, that shadow would move out of the way and he would see the fair haired man smile, really smile, for once.

The shadow was still there, but Rook was smiling for him anyway. It was bittersweet, trying to reassure Remy in his own way. A bit crass as ever, but still appreciated. The dark haired youngblood answered with a weak smile of his own, starting to say; "I..."

"Remy... are you okay?" Nikolett swooped in, cutting Remy off as he turned to look at the girl who looked like she had taken a bath in a paint jar. The freckled boy shut his mouth immediately and tucked his gaze away in embarrassment. He really did not want to talk about it, not with people that were not part of his closest circle. But he understood why someone like Nikolett would come to worry. After all, what Remy had caused did seem more than crazy. And after all those years with people not believing him, Remy still had sometimes hard time understanding that these people did take his word for true. At least, after the scientists had ruled his word for a fact, and couple of other subjects had seen him reanimate rotten corpses in the fight box. When you go against the laws of nature and reason, word tends to travel fast.

"Yeah, I'm... I'm fine." Remy finally said, but not sounding very convincing even in his own ears. His hands were still shaking, and he was quite sure that Rook had noticed it by now, still grabbing his wrist. But it was fine, his touch felt grounding. However, suddenly his attention seemed to be caught again by the half-faced Creep, as she had appeared by Rook, now inspecting the scarred man closely. Remy could not help it how his pulse picked up and how he moved to grab Rook's hand by instinct, looking down again.

"He looks worse for wear," the Creep spoke, her voice sounding frail in an ethereal kind of way but with a sharp edge like a broken rib, as she reached to trail her ghostly fingers by Rook's scarred face, "what an ugly thing, he is. Makes me feel almost pretty again--"

"...Shut up!" Remy snapped out loud, his tone tense and suddenly irritated. The Creep immediately shut up, but not by her own volition; but because she was told to. The Creep looked confused, reaching her hands to her mouth that she seemed to be unable to open again under the command of the necrokinetic. At this point, Remy realized that he had spoken up, and his company had no idea what he was on about. He looked up hastily, the brown eyes wide in just about as much surprise as anyone would be with witnessing Remy show any signs of anger. It was very, very rare. "I'm sorry, I wasn't talking to you guys."

The Creep looked royally offended, and it backed away into the crowd, disappearing about the same time as the buzzer went off. It was the sign, the beginning of an end. Remy breathed in and turned to Rook, searching his face with his eyes. Then, without saying anything, the taller of the males pulled the shorter one into a tight, almost desperate hug -- completely forgetting the earlier thoughts about Rook's possible skin surgery. If things would go wrong, this might be the last time they saw each other.

"Please, promise me you won't die." Coming from a necrokinetic, that meant a lot.

Remy pulled away, grabbing Rook by the cheeks and looking all serious at his squished, scarred face. "Don't do anything reckless. Don't take any unnecessary risks or do anything stupid, you hear me? I'm not there to save your scarred butt from your own undoings now. If I won't be seeing you by the oak, I'll revive you just so I can kill you myself. Are we clear?" The serious expression melted away as his freckled face pulled into one of his more typical gentle smiles, the brown eyes full of warmth. He just cared a lot about the people close to him; they were his family and all Remy had got left. "Stay safe and good luck."

Remy let go, and circled around the dermakinetic, signaling for Alkalb to follow. They would have to find Mallory, but it was hard in the crowd, and Evie had bolted -- probably to the closest female toilets, so they would have to check them or try and see if she would regroup with them by their destined location.

With a nod Harley followed Mallory to a table, choosing to sit across from the female. As soon as they sat down Harley dug into her food, knowing that she would need the energy once the escape began. And, with a glance at the clock, she saw she didn't have much time until then. Great, she thought, trying to chew as quickly as she could without looking like a barbarian. Stupid scientists, keeping me past the lunch bell.

Her eyes wandered over to Remy as he apologized to everyone for causing a scene, several times. Harley shifted to stand and fetch him, so that he wouldn't be the center of attention for too long, but stopped herself as Rook stood to assist. She watched the scary male approach the Gentle Giant, reaching for a water bottle and twisting the lid open. Probably for the best, Harley thought as she tore her eyes away. She turne, noticing Iris and Evie leaving the room.

Harley also glanced to Donovan, to make sure she still knew where he was. He was her team leader, and so she'd want to get to him as soon as the signal was given. They had a very small window for escape, and so Harley didn't want to waste any time getting with her escape team. The faster they could group up, the better.

Wordlessly Harley turned her attention back down to her meal. Truthfully, she knew that the plan would probably fail. She was aware of how unprepared they all were, and yet she still had to try. She couldn't take any more of the tests, couldn't handle the same white walls every day. She needed a change before she was driven to madness, as many of the other prisoners had. Harley has been around insane people her whole life, and from a very young age she had understood that, though she could fight it all she wanted, the scientists could also drive her to such a point.

She'd rather die than loose her mind.

Looking up to Mallory and Mina, Harley realized that this could be the very last time she saw either of them. While it was true Mina wasn't exactly her friend, Harley still liked her to a degree. But, Mallory on the other hand had found a way to make it onto Harley's friend list. And, if Mall was lost in the hours to come Harley was sure she would miss her. "I value our friendship," Harley said suddenly, though her voice was dull. Her brown eyes lingered on the Mall for a few moments, before Donovan suddenly joined their table.

Her brown eyes landed on him, levitating before her over their lunch table. She continued to eat as he spoke, asking her why she chose to sit with them. Briefly her gaze flickered between Mallory and Mina as Donnie told them he was only kidding. Of course Harley knew he wasn't, but she didn't say anything about it. "I like them," She answered, shrugging her shoulders slightly.

Donovan planted himself next to her then, and she reached to open her other water bottle. The edges of her lips pulled upward ever so slightly as Donnie hugged her, turning to look at him as he brought up Blue. Harley was well aware about what had gone on between Donovan and Tehuri, and how it affected Lennox. Needless to say, Lennox was pretty upset about the whole situation. But, in all truth, Harley couldn't see why the two were even feuding over a girl- especially one like Tehuri. It just seemed so petty to her, especially when they had other things to worry about. For example, a quickly approaching escape.

"Did you try apologizing?" Harley asked before biting into her sandwich. She knew that Donovan really didn't feel he had anything to apologize for- He was only doing what was expected of him and what came natural, after all- but if he really wanted to salvage the friendship Harley felt like that would be the best way. One of them had to be the bigger man... Or, they could continue to destroy their once great friendship. The choice was theirs.

Donovan: "Harley, do you think what I did was wrong? I mean I really didn't have a choice."

The question stumped Harley. Was he in the wrong? She knew how he felt, and she knew how Lennox felt, but how did she feel about it? The blonde took a sip of her water to stall as she considered her answer. "Um," she said, screwing the lid back on the bottle, "I think it's wrong of you to claim you didn't have a choice, because we both know that's a lie. But, if you own up to your actions and try to make amends then maybe you can redeem yourself in the eyes of Blue. You hurt him, nothing will change that. Still, you two need to resolve the situation and move on."

Harley knew it was likely Donovan wanted to hear that he wasn't wrong at all, that he was justified in his actions. But, Harley wasn't the type to lie in order to save his ego. If he hadn't wanted the truth he shouldn't have asked her. Suddenly, the buzzer went off, indicating the end of lunch. And the beginning of their escape. A shiver of anticipation ran down Harley's spine.

She stood and put her tray away, finishing her sandwich along the way. Harley also finished the last of her water before throwing the bottle into the trash. On her way back she looked for Rook, only because he was part of her group. She caught sight of the last moment of the hug Remy and Rook shared, causing her steps to falter. Don't be jealous, she told herself, taking a deep breath and continuing. You're not his only friend.

Reaching the table where she had left Mallory, Mina and Donovan, Harley leaned her hand against the surface. She looked to Mina, and then too Mall, saying, "I hope I see you two later." She then turned her gaze to Donovan. "I saw Iris leave, I'll go see where she went. I'll be in the General Area in four minutes," She said to him, her voice low. Stealing another glance at Rook and Remy, Harley added, "I'll see you and Rook there."

With that, Harley fell into step with the crowd leaving the cafeteria. They all flowed out of the room at a horribly slow pace, but once Harley finally passed through the doors she was able to walk faster. Where would they go? She asked herself. If she couldn't find Iris within the next two minutes she would just have to trust the girl to make it to the general area by herself- Harley couldn't keep Rook and Donovan waiting. That would only delay the plan, and put them all in unnecessary danger.

Harley checked Iris's bedroom first, and then Evie's. Both rooms were vacant. Where do girls go when we're upset? She thought, leaning against the wall for a moment. The answer came to her immediately, and she almost slapped herself for having missed the most obvious destination: The bathrooms. Harley made her way to the nearest one, finding both girls together.

Though her countenance did not change, Harley did look to Evie with sympathetic eyes. It was clear had just been crying, but Harley wouldn't comment on her still puffy face and red cheeks. After all, she wouldn't want someone to point that out to her, had she been in the same situation. Instead, all she said to Evie was, "Good luck, Evie. I better see you later." Harley even offered her friend a rare sight: An actual smile.

Her gaze then shifted to Iris, lips falling back into the flat line they normally resided in. "Rook and Donovan are waiting on us," She said, "We should get going."

Alkalb snarled as he noticed a figure move towards Remy. At this point the boy could not distinguish one person from another. To him they were all threats to Remy. He moved forwards slightly, placing his foot on the bench. His hands and feet had become even more claw like, the boys eyes looked red with furry. The claws on his feet began to dig into the bench as he growled at Rook. The animal like child had become way more vicious than before. This could be because Evie's power was passively calming him down slightly, but since she had left the boy had returned to his savage state. Alkalb didn't choose to attack, he was weighing up his options, in case the person chose to use Remy as a shield. However when the other girl moved over the boy almost lost it. Alkalb let out a deep growl as he arched his back, he moved like he was about to pounce over the table. He was just about to move when Remy began to speak, this cause Alkalb to hesitate slightly.

Since Remy seemed okay, Alkalb calmed slightly. The boy stood up straighter, however his killer gaze was still set on the two others as they talked to Remy. He waited but his breathing was heavy and gruff, he was watching for an opportunity. Alkalb stood observing as the girl and boy tried to comfort Remy. The boy slowly began to change back, his eyes becoming more yellow than red and his claws getting shorted. He looked almost human, until Remy snapped out at nothing. Alkalbs claws grew again as he let out a growl. His eyes fell on the male, Rook, as that was the direction Remy shouted to. He wanted to attack, guessing that Rook had hurt Remy in some way. However before he moved Remy began to mess with Rooks face. Confused by this action, Alkalb stayed put once again. That was now twice he had been stopped from attacked his prey.

Alkalb was soon signaled to follow his master like figure, so he did with no question. As he followed Remy he looked back at the other two and gave a soft snarl as a warning. After he turned away his body reverted back to it's more human like form and he followed Remy quickly. He acted just like an obedient dog, always at the heals of its owner.

Quite a lot was happening around him at this moment, to the point where Mathias was quickly starting to regret his choice of seating. It was never wise for him to sit alone. It made him an easy target for "friends" to come towards him, not that he hated the social interations of the everyday happenings here; however, with tue growing crowd at their table, Mathias could feel himself slowly sinking backward in an attempt to disappear into the background... He was failing, of course, but at least he had given it a shot.

He was left with little choice in the matter as the dynamic duo took a seat acrods from him. Akiva had focused his attention on Lennie, Mathias visibly cringing at the site of Akiva shoving his ass directly in the larger male's face. Unintentional or not, Akiva would have gotten a swift kick in the rear of that dangerous thing would have been flashed his way...however, he said nothing of it, dark stare floating down to his shadows, which were visibly on edge. Time was ticking by and they still were missing people. Half of Ralyn's group had failed to show; however, Mathias knew better than to simply write of this as a coincidence... There was a reason for Ralyn's bodyguard's absence...and he could not help but try to guess what. She was unpredictable though, so he felt that even Ralyn had little clue...or little control over that volatile albino. Fay, on the otherhand, was a story all of its own. The male took him time and, if anything, was trying to avoid as much violence as possible. Mathias could not blame him for that; however, it was upsetting nonetheless...Would this plan actually work if everyone had their own agenda?...

Mathias was all too aware of the massive amount of tension at this table, and it seemed that Donovan of all people had had his fair share as well, for without another word he simple rose up, gathered his and Tehuri's trays and retreated to better company across the lunchroom. He knew that there was a time where Lennie amd he were actually close friends; however, with Tehuri being moved between the two, it was only natural for tensions to flare...Tehuri had tried to move on...Lennox's narcissistic behavior kept him in the past, unable to push through this. Mathias could understand to an extent, being that he had read up on something like this: people tend to cling to past object or memories when afriad of the future....That was all Mathias would dwell on the idea though, mainly because his attention was pulled just across from him...where a pair of rather large eyes were blatantly staring at him.

In all honesty, Mathias was use to stares, being that he was not exactly the most normal looking of humans; however, to have a blatant analysis of your every move was, in truth, rather unsettling. He did not glance up from his journal as Jezebel contonied this odd behavior, able to feel the small burn of her stare against the side of his head. He disliked when she did this actually, mainly because it made him feel awkward...as if he were on display for her unblinking stare; however, she was young...so maybe that was why he humored her. He took another bite of his cake, allowing her to continue this one sided staring contest...That was until he noticed her holding out something to him from his peripheral.

His gaze flicked sideways to her small hand, noticing the chocolate pudding cup being held out to him. Was he an animal at a petting zoo now? He did not really know how to handle that, gaze mildly confused despite the absence of an explanatory expression... Instead he glanced away, eyes falling closed for a moment as he took the last bite of his cake. "You will need the energy today. If anything, put it in your coat pocket for later."

He did not say anything else after that...Well he couldn't being that he noticed Ralyn stand. His eyes immediately flicked to the clock, hand tightening on his fork as his shadows hissed with realization. It was time. He took a deep breath, feeling his own nerves rise within him. He heard Tehuri just beside him, body stiffening with a minor sense of anxiety; however, he was excited. He nodded is response to her, a slight smirk coming to his lips as he spoke in the same dull droll. "Don't go too easy on them, Huri. I don't want to have to come back to get you if you fall behind."

It anything it would be the other way around, for Mathias' group would have to rely heavily on him. They had one person less...Not only that, but he was stuck with the religious freak and a girl whose powers would not have much affect until outside. He would have to be smart. His gaze flicked to Jezebel, tilting his head as a sign to follow. "It's time." He also zeroed in on Tristan, making eye contact before signalling that it was time to move. They only had one shot at this, so they would have to move quickly.

He rose from his table, grabbing his tray and belonging before stepping off to drop them off. His mind was flocking with much more than just the wellfare of his own group... How would the others do? He had faith in his own abilities, but could everyone be trusted to play their part, or was this going to fail completely?...Would they even make it to freedom...or was this all some game...some ploy? Mathias could not help his skepticism; however, with the over all hope thay everyone shared, he did not wish to let it surface. We just have to try...

He left the lunchroom then, turning left to start the journey to Fight Box 5...They would find weapons there most likely...and they would need them, for who knew what was on the outside.

She continued to wait for Mathias to accept the pudding until he told her to put it in her coat pocket and save it for a later date. Smiling even more, she turned back to her plate and began eating her food once more so as she had the energy required to at least help in the escape. Compared to everyone else, her power was useless unless outside where wildlife was more prominent. The only way she made it in on the plan was because Akiva had insisted that she come with them. Speaking of her beloved "big brother", he was busy talking to Lennie on why he was late.

She was happy to see him finally make an appearance but she knew that he was still torn up about Teruhi and Donnie coupling some months ago. She had seen how Akiva instantly turned on both of them in favor of protecting the metal user. Though she was sort of in the middle of who was in the right and who was in the wrong, Jezebel just hoped they would all put that behind them. Besides, Teruhi was not really worth fighting for and both males should just chalk up their fighting due to her "harlot-ness" as Aki puts it.

As she ate, Jezebel listened to the boys' conversation and wondered if Lennie would ever see that Akiva was into him. She would have done something but she had no room to intervene as 1) it wasn't her place and 2) Lennie was still not over his heartbreak. 'Why was love so complicated?' She thought as she finished up the last bit of her meal, stuffing the pudding cups into her jacket pockets.

When the alarm rang out to signal the end of meal time, the young brunette quickly took her stuff and put it in the trash. She ran back to see Teruhi at the table with Lennie and Akiva and she had a feeling that not all was going to be good. "See you later Aki." She says as she gives the red-eyed male a kiss on the cheek before running off after Mathias so that she wouldn't be left behind. She looked back at Teruhi and made a face at her by sticking her tongue out and using her left index finger to pull down the bottom of her left eye. After she was done, she looked back over at Tristan and gave a small wave to let him know to follow her and Mathias before she started running to catch up to said shadow user.

Picking up her spoon Mallory started to quietly shove the grub into her mouth. There was only little time left before the escape would start, and she would need all of the energy she could get. In barely an hour they would make a dash for their freedom, barely an hour was left of this existence that she had lived the past twenty years. Excitement bloomed up inside of Mall’s chest as she thought about this possibility. She tried not to be too enthusiastic, fearing that she would be disappointed in the end. However, her rapidly beating heart was already betraying her. She was excited, for the first time she would experience that what she only believed to be a fictional concept. Something that she was undeserving for; freedom.

"I value our friendship," Harley suddenly spoke up, eyes locked with Mallory’s who was taken aback. One moment there had been silence, like there always had been there between them. Today had seemed to be no exception. They had always valued the silence they could find in each other. However, for some reason Harley had decided to speak up, confirming something that Mall had been arguing about with herself not too long ago. The blonde had confirmed that they were friends. Blinking a little the brunette wasn’t sure how to react, an unknown warmth creeping up from her chest.

However, before she could answer a figure interrupted them. Donovan had decided to come between them, rudely brushing Mina and her to the side as he went for Harley. The two of them seemed to be close friends, making Mall briefly wonder if that made them friends as well.

No. The thought didn’t please her at all. Not, because of the way in which he had brushed Mina off. Not, for the fact that he was a leader, the leader of a group she considered to be friends. Even if she didn’t act like it with Rook most of the time. However, it was a group of people she wanted to share her freedom with the most. She couldn’t trust this troublemaker to do a good job in keeping them from harm, to bring them to the oak still in pieces. He seemed to be too dim-witted for that. The fact that Harley had claimed that she needed to join his group in order to ‘protect’ him confirmed her thoughts about his capabilities.

"I like them.” Harley answered Donovan blankly. The girl was full of surprises today it seemed. Again Mall stopped eating, eyeing the blonde a little before continuing as if she had heard nothing. She was certainly making the most out of her last day within the facility. Deep inside the female was happy to hear that she could be liked and appreciated. This little gesture of her friend warmed her heart, a small smile forming in the back of her mind, but never on her face.

Mall was certainly displeased with how the groups had been set up. Not that she minded her own teammates. She liked most of her members and wished for their freedom just as much as she did for the other three in Donovan’s group, Rook begrudgingly included. It was just the fact that she couldn’t be there, helping them escape, making sure that everyone would make it out. Alas, she could only do so much and her power only extended so far. She just wished someone more competent stood at their lead instead of this playboy. She just hoped that she was allowed to meet everyone outside again. Everyone that mattered to her at least.

Donovan and Harley resumed their conversation, Donovan mostly dominating it as he complained loudly. It had something to do with friends and a dispute of sorts. Mall wondered if having friends meant that she would have to face the same trials as the male did right now. Would this mean that one day she would fight her friends as well? Friends like Harley? Maybe even Evie, or Iris? The brunette couldn’t imagine herself doing so, arguing or fighting with them. Sure, she wasn’t very pleasant to be with sometimes, and at times everyone got on her nerves, but these girls were too kind. They didn’t strike her as the types who would ever get angry, no matter what she did.

With that in thought the buzzer went off, waking Mall up from her daze. Lunch had ended, the plan had started. Harley was the first to get up, announcing her leave. "I hope I see you two later." With these last words she left the group at the table. The brunette nodded at her, eyes darting over to Remy’s table to check up on her team. Yes, hopefully they would all meet again at the oak. It sounded so easy, reaching some tree outside. However, it was only easy by the sound of it, unfortunately.

With a sigh Mallory got up from her place as well, stretching a little, before looking down at her half-finished meal. Her last meal. Perhaps her last day ever having to spend time here under this ceiling with the people here. Mallory decided that she should make it last, just like Harley did. A silly thought crossed her mind as she stared at the extra dessert the lunch-lady had handed her.

“It was nice playing with ya,” Mall casually told Donovan before she pushed the cake into his face. A ghost of a smirk crossed her features, but died out just as soon, her face setting back into her usual expression. With that she left the table, satisfied as she left her goodbyes and wishes with Mina. It was childish, yes, but it felt good. It felt good to stand up for herself, and others, for once, to act on feelings instead of thoughts.

With that done, her heart satisfied by the revenge she had taken, Mallory moved her way over to the tall figure of Remy. Did all that milk he drink come in handy somewhere. “Get ready,” she ordered the two figures belonging to her group. Her eyes darted sideways, towards Rook. It was a shame that he wasn’t in their team, but Mall trusted the other to be able to survive. If not… Mall supposed that Freckled Jesus would come in handy then.

Now all who was missing was Evie, for she had ran out of lunch earlier. Mall trusted the girl to find her way to their designated area, so she didn’t think about looking for the other. Who knew? Perhaps Evie had already made her way to the sleeping area, proving it to be only a waste of time if she did went searching for her. No, she decided not to worry about it too much and just wait for everyone to gather and their plan to start.

"Good luck," she told Rook one last time, turning around to leave the lunchroom. She wanted to say more, but she also didn't want to attract too much attention by hanging around the group for too long. Making her way over to where their chambers were located, where the brunette waited for everyone to come together.

Once Evangeline had made it into the bathroom she ran some warm water in the sink and pulled her hair up into a ponytail so that it wouldn't get wet. Her pale face was now spotted with patches of red because of her crying. Her lip quivered as she looked at herself in the mirror and she felt her body start to tremble as well like she was going to start a sobbing fit all over again. Instead, she took some deep breaths, trying to focus on something else to remove the urge to just collapse and break down right then and there. She splashed some warm water on her face and leaned forward on the sink inhaling and exhaling over and over. There were certain things she could that would help her manage these uncontrollable bursts of emotions from her. This was one of the times that Evie really appreciated Remy for being her friend. Surely anyone other than him would've left her crazy ass by now. But he stayed by her side. It was quite possible, no, it was a fact that Remy was the most important person in her life. He was so much more than a friend to her, more than family even. Everything he had done for her, ever since they were kids, there was no way she would be able to repay him for it all. She couldn't even express her gratitude in words without tearing up a bit. Speaking of which, wasn't helping her try to calm down at the moment.

"H-hey Evangeline," Evie snapped her head up and stared wide-eyed in the mirror to see Iris standing behind her. She hadn't even noticed her come in? Then again she tended not be aware of her environment once she was like this. She dried her damp face off with a paper towel and nodded to Iris. That's right, Iris didn't know this was just a side effect of her ability and she could literally feel the concern Iris emitting, thick and consuming like smoke, but still somewhat airy, like mist. "You o-okay?" She asked, approaching her making Evie turn from the mirror and sink to face her. The first thing she noticed was that the dull yet prominent stinging pain in her finger was gone. Which she was thankful, the smallest wounds always seemed to be the ones that hurt the most. Still, if that was the case, Iris taking it from her didn't make her feel any better. Sure she would rather not feel the pain at all but she wouldn't want a friend to suffer in her place. Iris had a bad habit of doing that and Evie had told her about that several times. Evie sighed looking at her, her expression mirroring her thoughts completely. "You don't have to do that Iris. Really. It was just a small cut." but it seemed like Iris wasn't going to be paying any mind to her lecturing, again. Another bad habit of hers.

Iris took Evangeline's hand and dipped it under the water running in the sink to clean it before taking out a kit and bandaging her wound. When she was done Evie pulled her hand close to her chest, rubbing her thumb over and over the bandage. "There, all better," Iris said with a smile. The corner of Evie's mouth turned up as she tried to show her appreciation for what her friend just did for her. Still, even though she knew that normally smiling and thanking the girl wouldn't be hard, her heart said otherwise. She had stopped her crying fit, but she was still drifting through the waves of her sudden emotional shift. The intense heartbreaking sadness had melted and mellowed out into an emptiness that left Evie feeling hollow and distant almost. "Thanks, Iris. I appreciate it." Even though that's not what it sounded like, "Listen, I'm fine, you don't have to be worried," She totally wasn't fine but what could she do about that? "This..." she gestured to herself, "...it's a side effect, from using my power. That's all. But I would appreciate if you kept this to yourself yeah? I don't really want everyone knowing the reason behind my meltdowns. Thanks again." Evie said wrapping her arms around the tall female before leaving the girl's washroom. She didn't really feel like being around anyone at the moment. Besides, she didn't want Iris to keep worrying about her. Evie needed to deal with her shortcomings herself. They were her own problem right now. She wasn't going to force her friends into a situation they didn't need to be in.

She made her way quickly to her room and threw on some thick warm tights. It had gotten chilly in the facility, at least now that she thought about it. She then lay down on her bed, face first in her pillow as the last few moments of her emotional unbalance faded away. That's when the bell rang again signaling that it was the end of lunch. She jumped off her bed with a start. It was the end of lunch, which means the mission was a go now. She quickly threw open her door glancing around. Of course, the others wouldn't be around yet. Still, she was the scout of the party which meant she should do just that. So she silently snuck off through the hallways, hiding behind corners checking to see if there were anyone they should look after. Following their escape route, she counted, at least, two patrolling guards that she managed to get past. That's when she reached the exit that they were to go through. There was also two guards there. Nodding to herself and making a mental note she quickly backtracked and started to make her way back to the meeting point with the group.

Animal Crackers in my soup...
Monkeys and rabbits loop-da-loop...
Gosh oh gee, oh don't I have fun...
Swallowing animals one by one...

Molly was unsure when she had gotten thst song stuck in her head, the odd antics of the deemed "curly top" being one of the only viewing pleasures of her time here im the facility. It was the only movie she ever actually responded to, and no one could really figure out why...Maybe it had a slightly dark connotation to her.

Slender fingers peaked out from inside the skin tight fabric of Molly's body suit as she pulled the cringing fabric up over her exposed shoulder. There was a large scar there, where the arm connects to the shoulder, along with mild discoloration between the two sections of flesh. It was a ghastly scar, like something out of a horror movie...a botched experiment ending in an abomination upon humanity. There was a time where Molly had been referred to as "Frankenstein's Monster", if anything because of the crass execution of her creation at the hands of Dr.Craus as the staff of Science ward 3. They thought they were creating a work of art, the future of Military expertise... The future of humanity, when in actuality they did nothing more than reanimate selected sections of different corpses. It was disturbing to think that that was all she was; howevee, Molly had learnee not to dwell on the specifics of her Alchemeic creation. She was here now, and that was all that mattered.

She wiggled her fingers, shifting about the tight material of her sleeve to amend any oddities in its position. She was quiet for now, momentarily subdued in this corner of the Training Sector. Her gaze momentarily flicked up, looking through the barriered windows to catch a glimpse of the Training Area layout. She had seen it many times in her life, being that so often she was pulled here to further analyze her powers. She was more than likely here more often than the others, said for a chosen few she had yet to gain any sort of acquaintance with. She could see them now, a dancing duo that reminded quite a bit of how she would have wanted her and her Little Raven to be...

Speaking of such...

Her eyes flicked up towards the clock in the far left corner, her expression faltering at the realization that she was running rather late...She blinked, scarlet eyes shifting about in mild annoyance, but she was unable to hide the small pout that wished to corrupt her otherwise blank expression. "He's going to be upset with me..." She said aloud, despite her close proximity with her chosen staff. Upon hearing her speak, the Doctor glanced up from her file, steely stare once again hidden under such a prominent brow.

"What was that Molly? Who is going to be upset with you?"

"..."

This was upsetting...So much planning had gone into this escape, yet somehow Molly had managed to fail in her only assigned task. She was suppose to be in the lunchroom now, but had managed to be held up by the likes of these weak fleshy bodies. Her frown only deepened, eyes moistening as she seemed to visibly stiffen.

"You made me late...He's going to scold me..."
Her voice was oddly soft, fist clenching as she remained turned away from the other persons in the room. There was an odd silence then, Nurse Bathfordy shooting a worried glance to the Doctor, but he seemed to remain unphased, expression unchanging as he spoke in the same manner as before. "Ah yes, I believe that was the lunch bell. Very unfortunate, but you always have the option of seeing your friend at dinner. I'll have nurse Bathfordy bring you something nice for lunch, seeing as how we seemed to have kept you longer than planned."

He threw a nod Nurse Bathfordy's way, the woman flashing a small look of fear before she spoke. "I-it's your own fault, deary. If you had not started that foolishness this morning, then you would have been able to spend time with your friend."

"Bathfordy..." The Doctor shot her a warning glance, eyes wandering silently over Molly's tense form. There was always worry there with a tense Molly...a drastically silent Molly, who was not even glancing in their direction.

Molly's head turned slightly, gazing over the training area to watch guards change post with the welcoming of the new shift...Fresh guards meant a harder job...Did she wish to subject her beloved to the possibility of injury during escape? He, along with her remaining teammates, were quite possibly on their way now...She had missed lunch so maybe she would be able to make it up to-

"Doctor. The system reboot with be starting in a few minutes. We need to return the Sibject back to isolation now."

The Good Doctor turned his head slightly to acknowledge to waiting guards just outside the door. His expression seemed to change slightly, the hint of a frown crossing his otherwise pompous countenance. "I thought the reboot was not occurring until 1400." He was never the sort to enjoy being misinformed. His eyes seemed to immediately shift to Nurse Bathfordy, whose expression seemed to falter as well. She admitted a nervous laugh, taken offguard by his unknowing. "I thought you had been i-informed, Doctor...I could have sworn that the others mentioner it to you..."

"Assumptions are what cause accidents, Bathfordy. What time is the reboot starting?"

Her options were rather selective. She could go and somehow join the others, or she could wait for them here. She was aware that Ralyn would be on his way now, and the others were possibly following suit. That meant that she only had approximately 12 minutes before either of her group member made it to the training sector... None of her comrades were actual fighters. She was the only sort that could take harsh brute force if necessary, so it only seemed natural to attempt to minimize the amount of Subject causalities by eliminating any sort of threat ahead of time...Why had she not seen it befor-

"Molly...It's time to return to your room." Molly was mildly surprised to hear her name called, head turning in slight recognition of who the person actually was...It was Nurse Bathfordy of course, being that the scent of body odor masked by perfume was already filling the young woman's nostrils. Molly did not move though, body remaining turned towards the window as her eyes continued to scope out the training area. The Doctor's voice came next.

"Your training is scheduled for later in the day, Molly. For now, you are required to return to your isolation cell."

"...no..." It was clear and concise. Defiance at its finest uttered by the girl standing before the window. Her eyes flicked back to the clock, unable to mask that small smile that played on her lips. It quickly grew though, head turning to smile at the other persons in the room. She remained by the window, grin growing in naturally maliciousness.

The Doctor seemed to stiffen, sharing a look with Nurse Bathfordy, who seemed to immediately take a step backward.

"W-wha-"

Sheeek

There was silence, the only noise being the dull, vibrating throb of Molly's pulsating tails. When had they resyrfaced, swaying back and forth and scraping dangerously against the ceiling and window. They had moved so quickly that neither the Doctor nor the guards knew exactly what had happened... "Molly! What are you doing? I order you to power down to 0%. Deactivated Ninetails now." His voice was firm, yet there was and edge that even he himself had not expected...Molly was unresponsive, head falling slightly to the side as she seemed to wait, that smile remaining on her pale face.

There was a sudden dripping, the Doctor's eyes following the noise to notice on of her tails slightly apart from the other three. Dark crimson dripped slowly from the razor like tip, rolling down that pulsating form to create a growing pool on the floor...but where had it come from?

"Nurse Bathfordy... I need you to..." His voice slowly trailed off, expression contorting in horror as he finally took notice of the nurse. She had not moved this entire time, statuesque expect for a small twitch in her legs. The Doctor looked her over, noticing how her body seemed to drastically relax. Her arms fell to her side then, the Doctor finally taking notice of the bllod starting to pull at the base of her neck. "Oh god...!" There was a wave of nausea that struck this stoic man, watching as Bathfordy's limp form suddenly slumped forward, head disconnecting from her neck, tearing free of the few remaining bit of flesh that Molly had missed. It hit the floor, rolling away from her sack like body and coming to a halt just at Molly's feet.

"M-molly...What have you done?..." He spoke breathlessly, eyes widening in horror as on of the tails snaked down ward, coiling itself into tue bloody locks of that severed head and plucking it from the ground. Molly was chuckling, body slumped forward as if held down by the weight of those massive tenacles.

"CODE RED. LOCKDOWN THE TRAINING SECTOR NO- ACK!" He was suddenly caught by it, those massive tentacle shooting forward and curling around his strong form. They were hot, fiery and pulsating with a hidden rage that, until now, he had been free from. They had him, around the neck and waist, hoisting him up as if he weighted nothing more than a feather. He couldn't scream, eyes locked on the swaying form of tye subject who, until now, he had not felt threatened by...Her head lifted, eyes swirling with the same energy that now held him in place.

Gosh...oh gee...oh don't I have fun...

"SHOOT HER. SHOOT HER NOW!!"

"Oh god...What the fuck is that!?"

Swallowing animals...

"GET IT OFF OF ME!"

"We need back up, now!"

"I wonder how long it will take my love to make his appearance... I took the liberty to pave his way..."

She was surprisingly clean after the events of only a few minutes. She had honestly expected there to be more than just a few guards and whatever doctors in the area, so she could not hide the fact that she felt slightly insulted by it. She blinked, hand moving up to push back those masive locks of white that was currently clouding her vision.

It had only taken a few moments. After she had rid herself of her party, she simply broke the window in the room that led out to the training area. The guards there had not been an issue, but she had forgotten how close proximity that the Fight Boxes were to the area....In the end she had rid of whoever was in her way, offering less of a challenge to Group 5, who would be escaping from fight box 5, as well as her own group, who would be escaping from this main area. With the system in reboot, it was also impossible to sound the alarm system that, in any normal situation, she would have caused... Instead, she was waiting for the others, leaving her abilities activated at 15% for now. The others would join her soon, so she could hardly contain the amount of excitement wafting through her... It had been invigorating, watching how easily she had been able to slice through those fleshy bodies...how beautifully they had crumbled in her grasp...So beautiful that she had piled up the bodies afterward, leaving them on display so she could possibly receive some sort of praise for her actions...

Maybe when Ralyn made it, he wouldn't scold her for not following the plan completely...

With Alkalb trotting along with him, Remy followed the slow stream of people, his head bobbing over the rest as he tried his best to glance subtly around to catch the sight of Mallory -- and failing. When one is as tall as Remy, subtle is not exactly an option, as it is not part of the Excessively Tall People Skill Set. But thankfully he could still serve as a landmark. Even if he could not point others in the crowd, they could easily point out him. In which case Mallory did as she approached the necrokinetic with ease. "Get ready." Mallory ordered, with the remnants of self-satisfaction on her face, that was fading away quickly. It was only apparent on the faint quirk on the corners of her mouth, like a subconscious beginning of a smile that never quite manifested itself, but enough for Remy to take note of it and give her a silent questioning look about it. Mall almost never wore an actual expression on her face beside annoyance, so if she was smiling, something really good must have just happened.

"Good luck." She bid for Rook one last time before she coolly turned around and made her way out of the room. Remy was aware that she and Rook were not exactly on the friendliest terms as they tended to throw retorts back and forth to each other whenever they crossed paths, but despite everything Remy was sure that neither of them actually truly despised each other. He was not entirely sure what exactly made him suspect it, but maybe it was the fact that sometimes it almost seemed like they intentionally searched each other out in the facility just to provoke for the attention of another. And Mallory had just told Rook 'good luck' so that must have counted for something!

Remy glanced at Mallory's retreating back with a little smile ghosting his lips, before he turned to look at Rook one last time, braving a big smile that he hoped would translate as 'We'll be fine, don't worry' and waved a good bye for the white haired man before going after Mallory. Yeah, they would be just peachy, right? They had Mallory as their leader, and she was one of the most sensible subjects in the facility Remy had the pleasure of being acquaintanced with. Sure her default uninterested expression that sometimes reminded him of the eyes of some of the dead corpses he had reanimated kind of unnerved him sometimes, but hey, you win some and you lose some.

"Come on, Al. We gotta hurry," Remy quipped over his shoulder at the feral boy, before jogging up to Mallory, "Mall, wait up!"

The lanky young man slowed down as he caught up to the older girl, and fell into step with her. Other than that, Remy did not try to go for a conversation or anything of the sort. First of all, he knew Mallory was the type who preferred silence over empty words, and thus Remy lacked the need to fill the said silence; it was comfortable and not awkward, just kind of natural nowadays. If either of them had something worthwhile to say, they would state it, and in Remy's opinion it was all good. And second of all, Remy was far too nervous that he would have been able to make conversation anyway. It showed from his tense shoulders, oozing it to a mile away. After all, he was not exactly the type of guy who was too hard to read, as his expressions were quite honest in a telltale kind of way.

Once they reached the Sleeping Area, Remy finally said; "Just a second, I'll pick up mine and Evie's stuff." And with that, the freckled one slipped into the room and went to the bed first thing. He noted it had been made, most probably by Evie before she left his room, which made him smile despite the aggravating situation. He dropped on his knees on the floor and reached under the bed, pulling out two simple bags that had been sewn together by Mallory from sheets. Nothing fancy, nothing pretty; just something that would do its job and be easy and light to carry. Once up on his feet again, Remy threw the bags over his shoulder and proceeded to get out of the room. But not before stopping to pick up extra shoes from his wardrobe, a pair of old sneakers. They were meant for Alkalb as Remy had noted the kid being barefoot as per usual, though his shoes might have been few sizes too big (that Remy himself had outgrown last year) but they had to do. The wolf boy's feet might have been seasoned hard over the years indoors, but they were not protected against the cold of the outside. It was winter, and Remy had read stories about the cold and the snow, and they would not afford to get Alkalb's feet frostbitten.

As he closed the door and pushed the extra shoes into one of the bags on top of the things, he joined Alkalb and Mallory again, feeling even more jittery with nerves than before. "I'm so nervous I feel like I might vomit." Remy admitted to them, clutching the strap of the bag that was actually just a sheet, and let a distressed whining sound escape himself. But then like the literally big boy that he was, Remy took in a deep, calming breath as he placed his hand over his heart, trying to calm his rapid pulse. Or trying to keep his heart inside his rib cage. Whatever works.

"Okay, I think... I think I'm okay. Yeah, I'm okay." Remy finally said, sounding like he was trying to reassure more himself than Mallory and Alkalb. He then proceeded to roll his shoulders and started sternly walking towards the designated meeting spot, muttering under his breath. "Let's get this over with..."

Rook was still a little flustered from the events proceeding that. He rubbed his cheeks and frowned. What had gotten into Remy? The other boy's concern for him hit him like an anvil. He shook his head, though. He'd be fine. Remy was just being his oddball self. Rook turned his attention to Nikolette, catching the blush on her cheeks. Everyone loved Remy. He sighed.

Rook opened his mouth to say something but felt a soft pressure on his shoulder. He didn't have to look to know it was Donovan tapping him. Right. He should go. "See you later Nikolette. Um. Don't die?" he said. He immediately realized that that was as comforting as him painting her gravestone. "I mean, good luck." Rook would be happy when this escape was over. Things were getting a little too chummy.

He pulled his hood over his head and rammed his hands in his pockets. Without a word to anyone else, he headed towards the General Area. It didn't surprise him too much to find both Harley and Iris already there. Iris nervously tugging at her black skirt and Harley with an indecipherable look in her eye. Donovan was no where to be found.

"Okay guys, everyone knows what to do right?" And there he was. Donovan pointed everyone to their positions

Rook rolled his eyes at Donnie. “Yeah,” he said. “Of course, I do. This isn’t fucking rocket science.” He looked down at his hand. With a minor bit of concentration, just a twinge, it became hard. There was a pearlescent shine to it. The institute had trained him and tested him. This was the strongest he could be. He was about to make them regret it.

“Don’t get your asses killed.” He winked and walked away from the group. The guards had given them sidelong glances but nothing substantial. The nearest guard, a tall but paunchy fellow, drew his weapon up as Rook approached.

“Subject,” he said. “Stand down.”

“Nope,” Rook said. He punched the guard—hard. The man wasn’t ready. He hadn’t had time to prepare. He crumpled like a straw house. His gun clattered to the ground, and Rook kicked it away as hard as he could.

A dart shot straight towards Rook and pinged off of his skin. He grabbed it and jumped at the guard that had fired it. They tumbled to the ground, Rook on top. He rammed the dart into the guard’s neck. There was a moment of struggle before the guard went lax. Another dart flew at Rook and bounced off of him. This one, though, hovered for a moment before launching itself into another guard.

Rook looked back at Donnie and gave him a thumbs up. The girls were already out of sight—though Rook’s vision was limited due to his hoodie and swatch of hair. Without waiting, he tackled another guard.

In the meanwhile that Remy had gone to fetch the bags, Mallory herself went to get hers. A simple sack stitched together by blankets, an own creation. The female sighed at herself as she held the fabric in hands, feeling the weight of the contents hanging in her hands. The weight of freedom, so she told herself. It was really happening.

An extra pair of clothes, some stolen food products that she had smuggled away from her own meals. Would it all be enough? Supplements that were necessary for her health, to make sure that she didn’t succumb to her power. Such was the price of her curse. Would they be able to make it to the end in one piece? Mallory didn’t want to think about a possible failure, but the possibility weighed heavily on her shoulders.

"I'm so nervous I feel like I might vomit." Remy’s voice sounded as they gathered together again. Mallory gave him a warning look, challenging him that he shouldn’t try anything funny. She knew that gagging wasn’t exactly something one could hold back, but the subject liked to think that her glare would hold his stomach down. She really couldn’t do with a sick person on the team. Besides, she would need the tall lad in perfect health for this plan to be a success.

Ignoring the rest of the nervous babble Mallory itched her way over to the walls, her eyes peeking around the corner as she heard footsteps. With a sign of her hand she bode Remy to silence and ordered him to stand low as well. Now would be the perfect time for him to listen to her. Guards? The female could feel her heart beating in her chest as she thought of running into them before Evangeline had joined their group. However, the footsteps were too light for that, too careful, light and hurried to be the usually heavily packed guards of the facility.

“Elf.” Mallory’s heart calmed down at the sight of Evie. Still on her guards she motioned for her to come over to the group. “Can we carry out the plan?” she asked softly, hoping that their plans weren’t going to be in vain by a sudden change in the situation. If not… Well, she had tried to plan out a plan B to Z with the group, so she supposed that they had back up. A lot of back up, but she rather not use any of them if necessary, for they hadn’t paid much attention to it yet. Still, it eased her mind that they at least had tried to think of other plans in case anything went wrong.

"You know what to do, right?" the leader spoke to the group in a whole as she started to rummage around in her bag. Taking out two pieces of clothe and a bottle she turned to Remy, waiting for the necromancer to come and take one of the fabrics from her. "We can't afford any mistakes from now on, so be careful and listen," the female continued sternly. The last part; 'listen' was meant for Alkalb. She didn't assign the boy any real roles or objectives. A shame, really, for his powers could come in useful. However, Mall simply found him too violent and uncooperative to make good use out of him. The fact that he only listened to Remy and was unusually emotional on top of that made it all the more difficult for the usually unresponsive Mall. Her priority right now was to get out of the facility as sneakily as they could, without causing any uproar, like the faint sounds from the lunchroom seemed to suggest.

Evie tried to make her way silently back through the halls the best she could. The guards were good at patrolling, though. There would be times where she had to wait for a while before she could even see a chance for her to slip past without being noticed. It also wasn't easy like they did the same pattern over and over. Then again it would be foolish for Evie to even think they would make this easier for them. They moved in a manner that left Evie unable to predict their movements. She didn't know how long she had been held up, but she knew her group must've been at the meeting place by then. It was by some miracle that a guard had noticed something and called the other over to look at it too. That was her chance. Evie took off, stumbling a bit, almost tripping and falling but regaining her balance just in time to round the corner out of view. She paused for a moment, leaning against the wall, her hand over her chest which was rising and falling quickly with each breath she took. Her heart was hammering wildly in her chest. That was too close for comfort.

She couldn't afford to be clumsy now and screw up the whole mission for everyone. That wouldn't be fair, they had all worked too hard for this. Besides, they only had this one chance. She refused to be the reason that everyone didn't get to freedom. Most importantly she wouldn't be able to forgive herself if she was the holdup. She wanted to get out of this place just like everyone else. Still, there were some people she believed needed and wanted to get out more than she. And she wanted to leave badly. She snapped herself out of her thoughts when she heard the voice of one of the guards returning. She needed to get a move on, she had been keeping her group waiting long enough. Once she was in the clear she picked up her pace so that she could reach her friends more quickly. She had to admit, this made her nervous. The kind of nervous that had her so scared she was shaking, even if it was a little. Still, she had to be strong for everyone else. Sometimes, in times like this, she wished she could use her power on herself.

Evie rounded the corner of where she was supposed to meet her group and was surprised to see them right there actually. Like right in front of her, to the point she might run into them. She quickly stopped herself, pressing her hand against the wall for support so that she wouldn't fall. She frowned as she looked at them crouched against the wall and looked around. No one was around them, so what were they--oh. They must've heard her coming. Right, Mallory was a cautious leader, it only made sense she would pick up on something like Evie's footsteps. “Elf.” Mallory said with a sigh of relief, grinning. She held her hands together tightly because she had these urges to pet Mallory and she didn't know why. But she couldn't because she would only end up hurting herself, much like what happened when they first met. That was the funny thing about hanging out with Mallory. Besides how amusing she was when Evie used her power on her, Evie really got to understand just how much of a physical contact person she was around her. Which only made the struggle worse when she couldn't cuddle Mall like she wanted to. “Can we carry out the plan?”

"Sure. There are two guards patrolling the way up ahead, then two more blocking our exit," Evie said to Mallory. Glancing at Remy, she noted that he had picked up her bag that Mallory had sewn together for them. She had packed some extra clothes and stockings as well as some food. She was glad Mall had come up with this idea because it hadn't even crossed her mind to bring things with her. "Thanks for getting my things Remy," Evie said with a smile. "You know what to do, right?" Mallory continued, rustling through the contents of her bag. "Aye sir!" Evie said with a giggle as she saluted their leader. Evie was now to be the distraction while leading the group to their destination, which wasn't too much of a problem. She tended to be dramatic anyway so being a distraction was a good choice for her. Mall and Remy had the harder jobs, they had to knock the guards out and they had to get the timing right otherwise it wouldn't work. "We can't afford any mistakes from now on, so be careful and listen,"

"So let's get this party started! Follow me." Evie said enthusiastically before turning around and leading her group through the path she had just come back from. She suddenly felt safer leading them around than she did when she was just wandering around herself. Then again Evie didn't like being alone so that was probably why. Though simply saying she didn't like to be alone was an understatement. Evie was petrified of being abandoned or left alone. Death scaring her the most because she didn't really know what awaited her in the afterlife. Would she drift along the abyss alone? That seemed like hell to her. So she usually tried to avoid letting her thoughts drift to the darker side. She motioned for them to stop once they got as close as they could to the guards without being noticed. "Showtime" she whispered before leaping out from the corner. It was like pulling off a band-aid, you couldn't do it slow, that was just torturing yourself. Better to just rip it off.

She ran forward towards the guards, who were alarmed and pointed their gun's at her. She quickly raised her hands in the air to show she meant no harm. "Woah...hah..woah wait.." she said like she was out of breath. She leaned forward on her knees acting like she was out of breath. "Identify yourself " The guard barked at her. "I'm Subject 7155178 and--" she started, "You're not allowed to be here Subject 7155178 leave now." The other guard said to her walking towards her. "Woah wait! Listen! I came to ask for help! There's a fight that broke out in the cafeteria. Between subject 74077 and subject 0677898. It's really bad, things are getting bloody. Subject 74077 needs to be restrained and they are both using their powers. No one's there helping!" The two guards looked at each other after listening, their faces paling a bit. Of course, she didn't need to go into that much detail, she was sure they had been informed about Alkalb's ferocious tendencies, "What are you doing?! You need to go help my friend!" Evie said, tears welling up in her eyes as she motioned them to follow her, which they did.

This was like a relay race, it was now her time to toss the baton to someone else. She hoped Mall and Remy were ready. "C'mon! We have to hurry." She said with a sob.

Remy did not get very far because Mallory stopped him on his tracks with a single hand signal. It was blatantly easy to decipher as "Shut the hell up for a second Freckles, someone's coming" and even if Mall had not said a word, he could still hear her voice inside his head perfectly well. Remy shut his gob as told and swiftly got behind her, his back hugging the wall while Mallory stood by the corner, trying to see who was coming without getting caught. He could hear his own heartbeat in his ears and the roar of adrenaline in his veins. There was footsteps. Quiet and light, careful but in a hurry. If Remy would have not been so on the edge, he would have probably recognized the footsteps as Evie's before she rounded the corner, as he had learned to listen the way she walked in the darkness of his room to get to his bed sometimes. However, his mind did not pick it up as fast as it usually would have, half-panic making rational thinking more complicated.

"Elf." Mallory breathed in relief at the sight of Evie, while the pathokinetic seemed about just as surprised and relieved as the rest of her squad was. Everyone seemed to be letting go a breath they had not even noticed they had been holding until now. However, the relief lasted only a while as the relaxed atmosphere was shifted again by Mallory, who again took charge effectively. "Can we carry out the plan?"

"Sure. There are two guards patrolling the way up ahead, then two more blocking our exit." Evie replied with confidence, making it sound like taking four trained guards by themselves would be a leisure stroll in Hyde Park. But then again, she had always been the one with more confidence out of the two of them, and it tended to be contagious. Remy squared his shoulders and suddenly felt like he was standing somewhat taller with just her being there; she had always been his small bundle of courage. Evie just then decided to glance at him, noting the bag he was carrying for her. She smiled. "Thanks for getting my things Remy."

"Any time, my dear." The tall boy quipped and shifted the position of the bags on his shoulder. However, Mallory had no time for their Platonic Lovers nonsense.

"You know what to do, right?" She asked, but it sounded more like a demand as she rustled through her bag and handed a piece of cloth and the Knockout Cocktail for him. Mall and Remy had been doing their best with stealing chemicals from the labs here and there along the months, and from Remy's books they had learned a mixture that would produce the fumes that would shut out the lights even from a horse within seconds. But only temporary, of course. No one needed to die. Hopefully.

"Aye sir!" Evie saluted with a lighthearted giggle.

"Yeah, I think so..." Remy mumbled unsurely as he pocketed the things.

"We can't afford any mistakes from now on, so be careful and listen."

Remy nodded to no one in particular, then turned to look at Alkalb and tapped his own earlobe as a sign for him to stay sharp and listen to what he was being told to. It was important for all of them, and recklessness could get them killed. Alkalb's capricious nature was the biggest issue for their team, and if Remy could not keep the feral boy under control... Things could get a disastrous turn very quickly.

"So let's get this party started! Follow me." Evie announced and took the lead, leading their group silently through the facility corridors like four shadows. As she had been scouting beforehand, she knew the locations of the guards better than the rest of her team, so it was only natural for them to fall behind her. Not to mention how she was supposed to be the one to jump on the stage anyway while he and Mall would pull the strings from the shadows and close the curtain.

Once they were close enough, Evie lifted her hand as a signal for all of them to stop. Remy felt his heart skip a beat. This was it, it was happening. After they would assault the guards, that would make the whole thing real. If they would get caught, they would get into so much trouble. Maybe the staff would decide to dissect his brain just to get rid of him then for being more bothersome than he was worth. Or maybe they would lock all of them into isolation for the rest of their lives. Remy could not quite decide which fate was worse.

"Showtime." Evie announced with a whisper. And then, just like that, her little form had slipped away from her hiding place and she skidded along the floor in dramatic haste towards the guards that were casually walking towards her direction until they spotted her. It was not like Remy was seeing what was happening, but he could hear it when they saw Evie. He could hear the safety click off from their guns, the metallic sound echoing in the barren white corridor, a cold threat to stand back or else. Remy could feel cold sweat break on his forehead and his palms turn clammy in silent fear for his best friend.

"Woah... hah... woah wait..." Evie panted, making it sound like she had been running. It was rather ironic how she was such a good actor while being the person with the affinity for emotion manipulation in other beings; she might have not been able to manipulate how she felt on the inside, but she could dictate what she showed from the outside. 'That's my girl.' He encouraged the girl in his mind and squeezed the cloth in his hand that he had took out now. The little plastic bottle was ready at hand as well, Remy's thumb resting on the screw cap like on the trigger of a gun.

"Identify yourself." One of the guards barked.

"I'm Subject 7155178 and--" Evie started, but was cut off by the other guard.

"You're not allowed to be here Subject 7155178 leave now."
"Woah wait! Listen! I came to ask for help! There's a fight that broke out in the cafeteria. Between subject 74077 and subject 0677898. It's really bad, things are getting bloody. Subject 74077 needs to be restrained and they are both using their powers. No one's there helping!"

There was a heavy silence, pregnant with insecurity.

"What are you doing?! You need to go help my friend!" Evie added theatrically a sob somewhere there in between, "C'mon! We have to hurry."

Evie's cry for help ended up being effective after all. Thankfully her small fragile form usually awakened the protective instinct in males. Now add few crocodile tears and pleading, helpless tone and voilà! With antics like that she would have probably managed to persuade even the president himself to follow her to this so called scuffle. But the truth was that despite her fragile look, Evie was just as much of a helpless fairy princess as Rook was for sure. Women were terrifying.

Their footsteps got closer. The Adam's apple in Remy's throat bobbed as he swallowed.

The moment Evie rounded the corner, Remy locked his eyes with her for a millisecond. It was now or never.

A second later the first guard came into view. But before the guy managed to even register what was happening, Remy and Mallory had attacked in unison and it was already too late. Remy reached his long arm out and grabbed a hold from the front of the guard's jacket and pulled strongly, the momentum making the man stumble forward into Remy's embrace. Before the man could as much as let out a small cry for help, it was muffled by a cloth pressed over his mouth and nose; it was spilled with the Knockout Cocktail, the fumes working their magic into the guard's nervous system. Even if it took less than ten seconds, it did not mean the guard would have just stood still and let it happen. Oh no, the guy struggled. Hard. All the while letting out muffled screams into the cloth, forcing Remy who was about a good half a foot taller than him to wrestle the guy down with gritted teeth. The dart gun was too big to aim at Remy from the angle the guard was in, his back pressed flush against Remy's chest, but the man managed swing the butt of it few times floppily against Remy's side. It hurt, enough to make him wince and gasp in between the muttered apologies (that was right, the whole time Remy had been wrestling with the guard he had been profusely apologizing over it) and it was sure to bruise. But thankfully the adrenaline was numbing the pain and the fear of the consequences if he let the guard go kept Remy's hand planted firm on the guard's face.

Eventually, the man sagged lifelessly against him, eyes rolling back in their sockets before the lids closed and the guard shut down. Carefully and with shaking hands, Remy let the guard down on the floor, turning to Mallory to see how she was proceeding with her own personal fight and if she needed help putting the other guard down.

Don't get your asses killed. Those words, punctuated by a charming wink, seemed to echo, the world slowing as Iris watched Rook turn and advance on a nearby guard. She found herself stuck in place, watching the brawler raise his fist and connect it with the guard's jaw. The impact crumpled him to the ground. It was the feather that broke the camel's back as chaos erupted around them. The sound of tranqu guns firing echoed down the corridors of the general area, elicting surprised screams from the oncomming lunch traffic as all guards within the vicinity mobilized. Some focused on evacuating the area and ordering the subjects to retreat back to their rooms, while the rest trained their guns on Rook and their fearless leader. It was surreal really, watching those tranqu darts bounce right off Rook's skin. Others were caught by the telekinetic and redirected back at their assailants.

It was the firm grip on her arm that jolted Iris from her dream-like state, and she reacted quickly, yanking herself free from the guard and throwing her hands towards the gunmen trained on her teammates. It took a split second to transfer the pain of shattered hands to the three guards and held it until they were compelled to drop their weapons.
Meanwhile Harley, who had been somewhat frozen watching Rook charge the guard, rubbed her fingertips together. She turned towards Iris, seeing that she was focusing on aiding Rook and Donnie in their escape. The blonde then noticed the guard who was only a foot away from her female companion, lifting her hands as he raised his gun in an attempt to hit Iris with it. A flash of light emitting from Harley's dainty hands, connecting to the shoulder of the guard. He shook violently for a moment before dropping his gun. Harley's eyes met his, and she shocked him again, this time with a magnitude that caused him to fall unconsciously to the floor.

"Run!" the Cruciakinetic shouted over the noise. With the guards distracted and divided between the four, it provided Donovan and Rook the opportunity they'd need to escape. Rook knocked a guard away from him but couldn't react fast enough before the but end of a gun smashed into his noes. It was Donovan who flung the guard into a nearby wall and set to work on clearing a path for them straight for the exit. Iris didn't have the leisure to watch them to see if they made it. Harley could only hold her own for so long and the redhead was no longer the innocent bystander they originally thought her to be. It was on pure instinct she forced the same pain she had inflicted on the guards from earlier onto the guards now trained on both girls and their weapons clattered to the ground almost immediately.
With the boys out of the room, and hopefully on their way to safety, Harley turned her palms towards the ceiling. The girl glanced towards their exit, making sure that there was no one in their direct path to cause complication. She trusted Iris to keep her from being shot with a tranquilizer as she closed her eyes, focusing on the energy being put off by the lights above. Her fingers twitched slightly and suddenly the light bulbs died, the room going dark. Harley opened her eyes to see she had been successful, a smirk growing on her lips.

"This way," Harley whispered, leaning slightly in Iris's direction. She reached for the girls hand, but instead found her forearm, and began to sprint in the direction of the exit. She only held onto Iris for a moment, so that she would know which way to go, before releasing the girl. A few guards were calling out to each other, just loud enough to mask their footsteps. She soon met with the door and turned to make sure Iris was right behind her before she pushed to open it.

Iris bit back a laugh of relief when the crisp winter air hit her and the two girls sprinted forward ready to head into the evening when another shot when off. It was Harley who stopped first, Iris made to watch as she reached over and plucked the dark out of her skin. Barely a heartbeat later she fell forward. She hadn't even hit the ground when Iris thrusted a hand in the guard's direction. He screamed, forced to his knees by the overwhelming pain only intensifying with Iris' hand drawing closer to forming a fist. Only when her fingers were completely folded against her palm did she yank her hand back, and the guard completely fell unconscious.

Two more guards flanked him and they were greeted with same hand-shattering pain she had used before to disarm them. A splitting pain shot up both of the Cruciakinetic's wrist and she bit her lip; she was pushing her limits. But she she couldn't ease up now. Not when she was so close to tasting freedom.

Donovan smirked at Rook's words. "Yeah, if it it was Rocket Science... we'd all be doomed." Donnie watched as the girls went off to do their thing, he hoped that they would be okay. If anything happened to them, he would blame himself forever. Donovan watched as Rook started to use his powers, his skin became a chrome-like texture. "Fucking cool."

Donovan nodded towards the girls, as he moved closer to the middle of the General Area. He bumped into a guard on purpose. "Hey! Idiot watch where you're going... and get out of here." Donovan just stood in front of him. "I said go!" The man came closer to Donnie, which was a bad idea. "Have a nice flight." The man had a questionable and confused look on his face, and before he could say or do anything, Donovan shot his hand in the air, the guard went flying backwards. The guard smacked into the wall, you could hear his bones cracking in the process. "Ouch... that had to hurt." He smirked, turning the other way.

Donovan was impressed at how strong Rook was, the man could really pack a punch, he was glad he had Rook on his team. Donovan had use his Telekinesis to knock back the other darts that were coming his and Rook's way, making sure they stuck in the guards. "Assholes!"

Donovan heard Iris's scream for Rook and him to go now. He nodded his head, but before he could run towards the door... he spotted Rook being hit in the face with the butt of a gun. That set the silver-haired boy off, he flung the guard towards the wall, another cracking sound could be heard. "Rook, come on!" Donovan shot his arms out, knocking the guards near the exit out of the way.

Donovan and Rook had made it out the doors, just in time to see the lights of the General Area go out. It was for sure Harley doing her thing. Donovan couldn't believe that they had made it outside... they were soo close now. "Rook... we fucking did it!" Before he could run towards the Oak Tree, Donnie heard a scream coming from farther back towards the GA exit. "Shit..." Not thinking twice, he ran back towards the others.

He stopped near a bush, he could see Iris and Harley. Harley had fallen to the ground, and Iris was holding her own. He was shocked and impressed at how the quiet girl could actually cause damage. Not standing there for too long, Donovan came up behind Iris. "Need a hand?" He winked his right eye, before he flung one of the guards into the other. Using this much power was working on his mind, he was getting a minor headache... and it annoyed him.

Donovan got closer to the ground, picking up Harley. "Iris, come on! Rook shouldn't be that far ahead of us." He looked back at the exit they had just came from, he slammed the door shut, making it wedge inward. "That should stop keep them busy. Fucking pieces of shit!" Donnie ran forward, with Harley in his arms. "Oak Tree... oak tree... oak tree." He kept saying those two words over and over, just to keep his adrenaline and motivation intact.

Rook made the fatal mistake of checking on the girls. They were currently drawing the guards away from Donnie and Rook so they could run. When Rook turned around, the butt of a gun aimed straight at his face. His power had faltered. His concentration had wavered in the concern of Iris and Harley. The gun smashed hard against his nose and a hot pain shot through his face. He was dazed—obviously. Everything went black and sparkly for before it tightened up. The guard went flying, and Donnie yelled at him to come on.

Hold your fucking horses, Donnie, Rook thought. He spat blood and possibly a tooth, before he joined the other boy. They couldn’t let Iris and Harley distract the guards for too long.

The lights snapped off. Rook nearly tripped over his own feet. He fell in line behind Donnie. He just listened to the pale-haired kid’s voice to keep himself oriented. It was a good thing that Donnie fashioned himself a talker. They were only in the dark a moment before the made it to the fire escape. The hustled up and out of it.

Donnie exclaimed about how they made it. Rook became immediately disoriented. He’d lived his entire life under a low ceiling. The ceiling of the world stretched up infinitesimally. Cold bit through his clothing. The ground crunched under his feet. The world branched out in so many directions, not dictated by walls or narrow corridors. It was like a dream. A dream where he could run in any direction but not hit a wall or an angry guard. Rook wished he was with Evie, Mall and Remy for this. Of course, there was Iris. Wait, Iris—

There was a scream. Rook turned to see who it was. Pain bit into his shoulder. Something grazed his arm. He whipped back around. There was an outcropping of rock before them. Nothing was there. Yet, Rook’s arm was bleeding.

He concentrated again. It was harder this time. His power felt further away like he was swimming against a stream to get to it. A force hit him square in the shoulder. It was a bullet. It would bruise the bone. Fortunately, they hadn’t hit him in the abdomen. Muscle and bone were easy. Organs were not. With that shot, Rook saw a glimmer of something.

He bolted towards that glimmer. His body was exhausted and pained, but his adrenaline worked full force. Fuck them. He was going to feed them their anus. Another bullet whizzed by him. Rook hadn’t actively dodged it, he’d just been running in a serpentine pattern. He reached the outcropping of rocks and leapt at the shine of the gun. He ripped it out and away from the person’s hands. They looked up at him through their reflective visor. Rook saw his face, distorted. It was dark, scarred, bloody, and angry. It was the perfect picture of what they’d put them through. He smashed through the visor. He felt soft skin underneath. His punch was enough to knock the man out, but he didn’t stop. No. He kept punching until there was guttural squelch of noise and the last breath of air left the man.

Rook should have been mortified, but he wasn’t. He grabbed the gun from the ground and the bullets from the man’s vest. He tucked what he could into his pockets and proceeded towards the forest line. He was only a few seconds in before he saw Donnie, Iris, and Harley. Donnie was carrying Harley. Immediately, Rook felt bad. He’d abandoned them.

“Is she okay?” he asked. He held the gun with his uninjured arm. The other one hung next to his body, blood coated his hoodie. He looked worse than he felt. Pain and he were best friends. They practically hung out on holidays and braided each other’s hair. Yet, he could fight through it to see his friends again. He owed Mall a snappy comment for her “good luck” and Remy a soft punch to the gut for his face squishing. Actually, he owed Remy a little more than that. No one did that to him on a whim. He was all powerful and hated. Well, hated except for Remy. Stupid freckled giant. Why did he have such stupid, wonderful friends?

For some reason their footsteps sounded too loud. Mall was sure to sneak after Evie, and the rest, as quietly as she could. She knew that the others wouldn’t be so stupid as to stomp around either. Yet, as they were following after their scout, Mall felt that every movement, every sound they made was too loud. The beating of her heart, the breaths they took, and the blood that rushed through her head, all of it, too loud.

The brunette knew that it was only her anxiety talking. She was worrying too much, thinking of all kind of doom scenarios that could possibly occur on their way to the first duo of guards. Her mouth felt too dry, her eyes too watery, her nose too droopy… The leader tried to ignore all of the little nuisances and itches right now, commanding herself to focus on the plan, and only on the plan. Forget about that itch on her butt, forget about the urge to sneeze, or the sudden desire to pee. There was freedom to win.

By the time Evangeline signed for them to stop Mallory had already made a mental list of reasons why they would fail, and why it could possibly fail. It had all made her feel worse than she already did. She didn’t catch what the scout whispered, or what she said to the guards. With her breath stuck in her throat the female was trying to focus, her ears looking for any signs of when she should start, her eyes drilling into the space in front of the group. Any moment now…

"C'mon! We have to hurry." Words that she recognised and understood, familiar steps that were mixed with heavy strange ones. It took a second for Mall to understand what this all meant, that their plan was put into action and that she should stand by ready. It was that beat off that made her react slowly. Remy was the first to jump and fight his guard. Mall quickly jumped after him, flinging her bag full into the face of the other guard that appeared.

Stumbling back a little the man threw the bag off him, a confused look on his face as he tried to figure out what had happened. Mallory didn’t give him much time for that process, as she quickly stepped closer to the guard and rose up her cloth, ready to smother him. However, with quick reflexes the guard dodged her, making a lean move to the back as he pulled out a weapon. The guards of the facility were all well-aware of the abilities and powers of the subjects living here. It kept them wary, knowing who they should avoid in any physical struggle. Despite her own effort to avoid any skin contact Mallory happened to be one of these subject who they had been warned for the most.

Making a dive towards the guard, who was by now on the ground, the brunette made another attempt of pushing the fabric in his face without actually touching the man. It was difficult, for the other kept on moving, arms swaying to hit her in the face, legs kicking to move himself up. The female held a great disadvantage for the reason that she didn't allow herself to be touched, or to touch. However, so she determined, she had to do it, no matter how impossible it seemed.

“Subject, stand down!” the guard yelled, a gun pointed at her. Freezing for a moment the female stared at the weapon in sight. A gun was a murder weapon that much she knew. However, would the guard be able to kill them, shoot her? Would the facility allow this to happen? Mallory had always wondered how much they were actually worth to the scientists. How easily replaceable they were. Inside of her mind she had been a mere object for them to play with, but she had never thought of the possibility if the guards would actually dare to kill.

“No!” As on instinct Mallory jumped forward to the man, the fabric dropped and forgotten, as she reached for the gun. The sensation of her skin slicing through that of meat chilled her, her heart racing up at the smell of blood. It was however not excitement that made her body tremble. Clenching her jaw she willed herself to ignore the warmth of the liquid that stained their hands and arms.

Feeling a hand yanking at the back of her head Mallory let go of her grip, gasping as she waved her hand up, trying to grab onto anything nearby. Again the scent of blood filled the air, and again the sensation of her skin turning into a blade burdened her conscience. The guard groaned in pain, the hand that was in Mall's hair earlier going to his face.

Somewhere, as Mallory and the guard were in the middle of their haggle, the gun went off. Neither of them paid any attention of where the bullet went, or where the gun was pointed at. Their focus fixated on one another. It was unknown who had pulled the trigger, as they were still fighting over its possession, but it would be the only shot fired. Finally succeeding in prying the gun out of the guard's hand, Mallory quickly pushed the murderous object away from them.

“You--!” the guard growled at Mallory, blood dripping down his cheek and his hands. By now the male seemed to care little about the abilities the aciukinesist had as he kicked her in the stomach. The brunette hit the wall with that assault, gasping for air. She tried to feel around for her clothe on the ground, knowing that she should put an end to this scuffle as soon as possible. She wouldn't be able to fight for much longer and neither did she want to kill the man.

“Come here, you little--“ the guard cursed at her as he went into the chase. Their roles earlier now reversed. Quickly crawling back to escape his hands Mallory tried to come up with a plan to help herself. Obviously the fabric was nowhere within her reach, neither did her bag with the knock-out potion happen to be near her conveniently, she never had such luck.
