Please, We seem to lose players so fast!

I shall get to work then! Is there something the group seems to be missing at the moment?

We've got 2 summoners, a healer, a CQC specalist. maybe someone with some area of denial abilites?

A CQC specialist? Like communications?

Close-Quarters-Combat.

Ah, I was looking at the list of classes and schools all confused trying to find where the Q came from.

I was more generalising roles, as my two characters both use summons but one is very much more a brawler who casts spells from atop a huge wolf, and the other is a full on 'in your face' melee warrior.

Appearance:

Meloni's appearance speaks of a hard life and of the sacrifice required for her spells. A strip of leather covering an empty eye socket, scars laid out in neat little rows across her arms, with others marring the pattern across most her body. A few larger scars speak of a different source, were it not for a set of plain clothes, a deep hood, and the disarming hunch to her shoulders she would have been discovered many more times over.
Name: Meloni Oslon, (true name is Sabrina Augorte)
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Class: Witch, she has aligned herself with a herald of Death. This shadowy spirit is rarely seen, but while dark on principal it does not seem to be a malicious spirit.
Spells:
Haze- Surrounding her immediate person is a subtle magic that discourages scrying, mind reading, and detection. It is not a particularly powerful spell, but in dealing with Mages' like Ulric it tends to let her fly under the radar. An added bonus is that if another attempts to overcome the spell she came usually detect the intrusion.
Banish- If there is a malicious spirit present she can use her catalyst to make a seal to send them back to where they belong. If a powerful enough seal is used the can also bind a spirit, but rarely does such an endeavor end fruitfully so she avoids doing so.
Empty- When done correctly Meloni can create a zone in which magic cannot be cast. In lower forms it can be done rather easily, but if done over a wide range and on moving targets she runs the risk of using more magic than she can afford.
Blink- If needed Meloni can teleport very quickly over a short distance. The effect looks as though she is flickering in and out of existence, but if she uses it to much she runs the risk of paying back the cost of the spell in one go once she stops. No if she carefully prepares and is not using this spell as a reaction she can travel much further at a lesser cost.
Soul to Take- Blood holds a lot of power and it holds sway in both this plane and the spirit. When used this spell grabs hold of the targets blood and attempts to drain it from the person's body. This usually requires a powerful catalyst and a good deal of concentration, but it can be quite devastating.
Thief- This is a spell that was passed down from Meloni's parents and she is loathe to use it because what it entails. This spell can effectively destroy a person's connection with magic. It creates a near permanent seal that can lock away a person's abilities. In theory if prepared before hand the spell can be cast within about ten minutes, but there is a greater chance of the spell backfiring in someway. If used on the fly it requires a huge amount of conversation, and almost literally a pound of flesh.
There are small spells like illusions and wards that Meloni can cast without to much cost to herself. At times she seems to almost be playing some kind of game, a dangerous game when it comes to trying to illusion the Witch-Hunters, but a game none the less.

Personality: For someone who has spent more years on the run than not Meloni is almost surprising upbeat. Calm and almost sleepy one moment, just about bouncing off the walls the next. Meloni has kept ahead of those who hunter by simply being not what they expect, surrendering and being a model captive one moment and disappearing the second they blink the next. While on the surface she makes a very good show of being open and caring she is very cagey about her personal life. Everything from family to her bonded spirit ranges from difficult to downright impossible to talk to her about.

Back story: Meloni started her life as Sabrina Augorte, the eldest daughter of a Cleric and Warlock. Her family has a deep history of magic use, but they managed to keep a low profile for many years by simply restricting all use of magic within the family. This meant no aid, no interference, no matter who asked, no matter the cost. While often times leaving many feeling bitter it kept the family safe, and if a member did break that pack they were careful to distance themselves from the family and forgo their given name.

Meloni deeply loved her family, she learned much from their history, and her rather was even the one who helped her make a pact with the Herald. However, she was frustrated with the lack of action taken by her parents. At the age of sixteen, while visiting a far village to trade and buy some springtime supplies, a dark spirit fell upon the townsfolk with a blood lust. After a moment of hesitation she attacked and with a great deal of difficulty and blood managed to weaken the spirit and began to drive it back. It was about that time that a pair of Witch-Hunters arrived at the scene just in time to see Meloni casting a final banishing spell. With the spirit no longer a concern they instead pursued the witch that had appeared. It took every once of guile Meloni had to get out of there alive and without her horse or the supplies she had carefully packed for her return journey it was a good few days before she managed to stumble her way back home. She was within sight of her house when she stopped. She knew the penalties for her actions, and she knew what would happen if she was tracked back and her family discovered. It was not easy, but some how she found the strength to backtrack and then cut east until she hit the next town and she has run ever since.

Over the years she has gained some infamy among the witch-hunters for being a particularly slippery fish. She is never malicious enough that she becomes a prime target, but she is just enough a thorn in their sides that she is quickly recognized when seen by the wrong people. When she was twenty she made the very foolish mistake of getting involved with Witch-Hunter business. In the fight between the Hunters and a particularly deranged Sorcerer she tried to dampen the magic of the Sorcerer, unaware that there was a Cleric among the Hunters. Poorly executed spells and the wonder aim of a man they called Wolf-Hunter cost her a left eye and a silver bolt to her shoulder.

Since then she has gotten better and better at living beneath the noses of the very people that hunt her, often times living in the larger cities, simply so that she can hide in the sheer number of people. She is far more familiar with the members of the Witch-Hunters than is probably good for her. For years she has gone through the motions, and still she let her guard down. Two days before the attack she ran into a familiar face, Ulric, within the main market. He had been on a simple patrol around the main thoroughfare when he spotted her, being a bit to cocky Meloni paused, she wanted him to know that she was disappearing again. What she didn't notice was another witch-hunter come up behind her until something hard came down on the back of her skull and she passed out. When the attack came she was helpless in the Hunters' prison awaiting trial. For nearly a week she was left, almost forgotten, in her cell. When they finally issued her the ultimatum it was made clear that she really didn't have a choice in the matter but she has accepted with at least knowing she will get the joy of seeing Ulric's face when she shows up.

Misc: To cast her spells she uses her own flesh blood as a sacrifice and a catalyst. To work more power spells she uses a written component so if her hands are bound in such a way that they are made useless she is limited in the level of spells that she can use.

Accepted, though her thief spell, even with it's costly nature, seems too powerful. For example, what's to keep her from throwing that on, for example, somebody of Archmage-Level abilities?

I see what you mean, I probably should have added that it is based on the amount of power she puts into the spell versus the amount that the target can channel. So someone as powerful as an Arch-mage could overload the spell and shatter the seal.

Sorry for the delay in my post, had to finish up a bunch of work.

Darn, I was really hoping this would pull through.

Me too. @Dahrinn , are you still there? I guess we're waiting for you to move the story forward.
