Character Sheet

HOUSE: Arryn, married into House Lannister.
NAME: Jeyne nee Arryn, of House Lannister
TITLE(S): Lady

AGE: 26 (b. 285 AD)
GENDER: Female

APPEARANCE: A conventionally attractive beauty, with hair that seems to shift from brown to blonde and back again depending on the season and time of day, and eyes like the sea, albeit the solemn, greying portions of it. Her wide eyes portray an image of innocence, although closer inspection reveals an almost bored, contemptuous gaze.

N4O1LTZ.jpg

HOUSE MEMBERS:
(Not all-inclusive, NPCs in King’s Landing are bolded.)

Lord Yann Arryn: 54. Father. Lord Paramount of the Vale.
Lady Janess (Waynwood) Arryn: 44. Mother.
Lord Robar Arryn of Gulltown: Some distant relation. 63. Head of the Cadet Branch, the wealthy House Arryn of Gulltown. Well-known for fighting, strangely enough, on the side of Queen Roslyn during the Rebellion, with a sizable force of sellswords and Free City mercenaries. In a shock, yet savvy move, named Warden of the East to dilute the power of the main branch.
Ser Lyn Arryn: 29. Brother. Heir to the Vale.
Ser Elys Arryn: 29. Brother (and Lyn Arryn’s identical twin). Decidedly not Heir to the Vale. How sad.
Hellena, Terrance, Sade, and Rowan: Younger siblings. 22, 19, 24, 16.

Finally, Jeyne Arryn is known to employ an esoteric retinue of beautiful serving men and ladies from all across the world outside Westeros. Naturally, their wages are paid with Lannister currency.

BIOGRAPHY:

The third of eight siblings, and the first of three daughters, Jeyne Arryn had been, from a very young age, Lord Yann Arryn’s favorite. Born beneath a waning moon, she was a quiet girl in her youth, yet clever - and eager to display her cleverness - all the same. Capable of warm humor and acerbic wit alike, young Jeyne Arryn spoke rarely, but firmly; her mocking recital of the various defeated and slain warriors of House Royce in order to lambast the fabled runes upon their armor (and, indeed, the House as a whole) won her few friends, but the admiration of her father forever. A young girl, not to be trifled with.

Still, she understood and deferred to the duties that came with being the eldest daughter of a Great House. While by some measure the most astute of the siblings, she would never be head of House Arryn. Her fate was to marry a suitable man from another House of influence, to serve as a tool for leverage and power alike. While she found herself at peace with the inevitability, she refused to allow herself grow dull. She insisted that she be taught the histories in exacting detail, be instructed in the ways of sound battle strategy should Yann, Lyn and Elys all fall before her. Well-learned, intelligent, and strong of mind, she became one of the most desired women in the Seven Kingdoms.

Dutiful though she was, her engagement to the eldest son of House Royce had been a bitter disappointment all the same. House Royce was a vassal house, and beneath her, in her mind. In truth, many thought House Royce was more fit to the titles of Lord Paramount and Warden, and this perception gave them power and threat. Yann Arryn had planned the engagement to lessen the rift between the two Houses, although in truth only succeeded in creating one between him and his prized daughter. Jeyne Arryn thought very highly of herself, and had expected a betrothal worthy of song and story. A chivalrous Tyrell lad, for example, or even an unlikely union with a platinum-haired Targaryen Lord.

Jono Royce was a courteous man, it was true, and brave - that was true also. But he was a man who did little to stir the passions. As a warrior, he was more pious stalwart than red-blooded seeker of glory or awe-inspiring champion. He spoke so slowly that it almost grated, and while his face had perhaps once been passable, age, demeanor and many a melee had made him solemn and far from comely. Jeyne Arryn had been an exceptional daughter - her prize was a loveless, insignificant marriage.

Realizing that little more was expected of her other than producing children, she found herself turning away from duty. She had never before presumed to spend the labors of others, but found herself wasting gold on many a lavish excess. She purchased prized steeds and falcons that she intended to use for breeding, yet forgot about them days after their arrival. She hired women from the pleasure houses of Lys to serve her, if only so that her serving girls would have a more exotic look about them. Any distraction was welcome. Not only from her new husband, but from her own father, whom she refused to correspond with.

That Jono Royce passed away half a decade later, of some weakness of the bowels, was sweet relief for Jeyne Arryn. When she returned, however, she was a changed woman. Less dutiful, and more entitled. She - rather delusionally - demanded that she be named heir of the Vale, on account of her being the most able of the eight children. Such a demand was categorically denied, yet Lord Yann Arryn found himself bending over backwards to accommodate her daughter, back in the fold, in any other way possible.

And so he, too, found himself funding Jeyne Arryn’s newly preferred lifestyle. While gold may not serve as happiness, it nonetheless seemed to purchase reconcilement between father and daughter. In the years to come, savvy spymasters would note that Lord Arryn actively mulled the possibility of offering Jeyne’s hand to one of the younger Targaryens - a match more fitting her particular tastes - although he eventually relented, given the Targaryen’s marriage policies.

Eventually, he would find a match that suited Jeyne Arryn almost miraculously well: the heir to Casterly Rock.

CLAIM: Xandor Targaryen, Lord Paramount of the Crownlands - a sentiment not uncommon amongst the Vale. Keeps mum about it, obviously. Granted, if her Lannister husband should unexpectedly find his way into greater power...

MEREDYTH TULLY

x

HOUSE: Tully
NAME: Meredyth Allyce Tully
TITLE(S): Lady, Lady of Riverrun, Lady Paramount of the Riverlands (once married)

AGE: Twenty, Born 291
GENDER: Female

APPEARANCE: Light red-brown hair tumbles down Meredyth's back. There's a small curl to her tresses, often extenuated by the many braids she wears to keep it off her neck. A dusting of freckles line the bridge of her nose as well as her shoulders. She stands above average in height, especially when heeled shoes are in play. Due to her mother's Mormont tradition, her hourglass frame has been toned from years of weapon training.

BIOGRAPHY

291 - Meredyth is born. Lord Emeril's youngest brother dies after a long and vengeful bout of the Green Plague. Unless there are hidden or unaware bastards, Emeril and Mere become the last trueborn Tully's.
298 - At seven years old Meredyth's pursuit of knowledge begins. Etiquette and politics, weaponry and history, she's taught everything, relentlessly. Groomed from that moment forward to take on the responsibilities of her House, Meredyth was forced to mature long before it was her time to do so. Despite being insightful beyond her years and bearing the weight of her obligations with an unbowed back, Meredyth oft displays disdain for the world around her. She prefers prowling through the godswood to find a secluded place to read of lands far, far away.
302 - Her father dies unexpectedly during the night. It is her Lady Mother who rouses from an uneasy sleep to find him dead beside her. Her screams wake half the castle. It results in a difficult year for the Riverlands as whispers of a northern woman governing unsettles the minds of many.
305 - The rumors began even before Meera was born. The talk was of a lowly household guard warming the bed of Lady Lyra and it sent a ripple of outrage through Rivverun and the towns nearest the castle. Word didn't spread far however, not until the birth of her bastard. Despite it all, Mere welcomes her half-sister into the world with love, even if she does think her mother a fool.
308 - Lady Lyra dies in her sleep after three sickly, bedridden years. Many whisper that the gods punished her for having a natural daughter. Meredyth Tully becomes Lady of Rivverun despite the fact that she'd been counciling her mother for the past few years. The hushed unease that fogged the Riverlands lifts and with it, the spirits of many. Though there is a massive gap in age, the two sisters cling to each other for the first few months. Helenys and Maester Cailin aid Meredyth in raising young Meera. And while they all know she will never inherit her position, they raise her kind and with love, beginning her education young. After a few years, Meredyth even shares half-remembered teachings of the Old Gods, the faith that her mother believed in so strongly.
310 - An unremarkable year for House Tully changes quickly when a messenger arrives with parlous news.
311 - Current day || After receiving word from the Queen, Meredyth Tully is now on her way to King's Landing to attend her 90th nameday feast and dine with almost all the lords and ladies of Westeros.

Steffin Stark
GENERAL INFO

House: STARK
Name: Steffin Stark
Title: Lord of Winterfell, Warden of the North, Hand of the Queen
Age: 17 (b. 293 AC)
Gender: Male

Appearance: Steffin inherited the classic Stark features of curly dark brown hair, silvery grey eyes, and angular features. He can't yet manage to grow a full beard, so his facial hair comes in sparse and patchy... but still he stubbornly keeps it in an attempt to offset his youthful face. There is a distinct dimple in his chin. His limbs still have some of that youthful lank and gawkishness, all long and gangling with large hands and feet, as though he hasn't quite grown into his paws. Steffin has a magnetic sort of presence that draws in the people around him, and his good looks certainly don't dampen that charisma. He prefers to dress in the style of the North even in King's Landing, only without the extra layers of fur and heavy fabric.

FAMILY & HISTORY

House Members:

Note: I have adopted Shizuo's method and bolded all household members in attendance for the Feast.

  • Lady Eister Stark, nee Farwynd, age 14. His sweet new bride;
  • Niklas Stark, deceased at age 46 in 300 AC. His lord father;
  • Ursula Stark, nee Mormont, age 32. His lady mother. Lives in Winterfell and is visiting for the Queen's Feast;
  • Tomas Stark, deceased at age 32 in 310 AC. His elder brother, prior Lord of Winterfell and Hand of the Queen;
  • Deckard Stark, newly 12. His younger brother. Lives in Winterfell and is visiting with his mother;
  • Andreata Stark, nee Manderly, age 24. His brother's widow. Lives in Winterfell;
  • Mikah Stark, age 10. His nephew. Lives in Winterfell;
  • Beatrice Stark, age 7. His niece. Lives in Winterfell;
  • Mirella Stark, age 5. His niece. Lives in Winterfell;
  • Rickon Stark, deceased at age 50 in 306 AC. His uncle, a former Hand;
  • Ser Koll Manderly, 29. His bannerman and kin by marriage. Resides in King's Landing;
  • Various Stark cousins, all residing in the North and not worth mention.

Biography: Steffin Stark was never meant to be a man of significance to Westeros's political playing field. The second son of Lord Niklas Stark, he ought to have been trained as a knight or perhaps even taken the Black by now. Instead, due to the early demises of his father (an illness), his uncle (an accident), and his elder brother (in battle), he has found himself in the precarious position of being not only Lord of Winterfell, but also the Queen's newest Hand.

At only 17, many do not believe that the young Lord Stark is capable of such responsibilities. There are whispers at court. More so than ever now that Steffin has taken a young Ironborn girl as his bride, a willful young woman who has Steffin wrapped neatly around her tiny finger.

Steffin's greatest boon is his natural charisma and his strong instincts for problem-solving, qualities that may be his only saving grace in navigating a world far more experienced and worldly than his own. He also possesses an ally in his good friend Ser Koll Manderly.

While the Lord Stark resides in King's Landing under the Queen's guidance and does daily battle with the Small Council over day-to-day management of the kingdom, his mother runs Winterfell in his stead. He did not consult the former Lady Stark in his choice of her successor, and the Feast will be the first time that these two mistresses of the North meet...

CHARACTER, ETC

Claim: Whomsoever Roslyn Martell decrees is the person most suited to take the Iron Throne, as he has sworn to be the Queen's Hand. Steffin's word is his bond.

HOUSE: HIGHTOWER
NAME:
Lucasta Tarly nee Hightower
TITLE(S): Handmaiden of the Queen

AGE: 29 (born 282 A.C.)
GENDER:
Female

APPEARANCE:
Lucasta_profile.jpg

Lucasta is blessed with her mother's long, straight black hair, vivid green eyes, button nose, and impish chin. She is still quite beautiful even after twelve years of marriage and motherhood. Her height was inherited wholly from her father's side. Tall for a woman, she towers over most of her fellow ladies and even stands eye-to-eye with some of the men. Her wardrobe highlights the vibrant flame colors and smoky greys of her father's House as well as the red and green of her husband's.

HOUSE MEMBERS:
Note: I have adopted Shizuo's method and bolded all household members in attendance for the Feast.

Ser Gawain Tarly, age 33. Her lord husband, a knight of King's Landing;
Gawain Tarly, deceased at age 10 in 309 A.C. Her only son;
Lenore Tarly, age 7. Her young daughter;
Mikaeb Hightower, age 53. Her lord father of Hightower and Oldtown, visiting in his brother's stead;
Lorelai Hightower, nee Ashford, deceased at age 16 in 282 A.C. Her lady mother;
Gwendys Tarly, age 24. Her husband's sister and fellow handmaiden of Queen Roslyn;
Lord Radgar Hightower, age 56. Her uncle, the present Lord of Oldtown;
Lord Radgar's lady wife and three children, detained in Oldtown by illness;
Various Hightower cousins and Tarly in-laws of little import.

BIOGRAPHY: Lucasta's first act as she entered the world was to bleed her mother dry.

She was the first and only child of Mikaeb Hightower, second son of his house. Mikaeb never remarried, and Lucasta was raised without ever knowing the love of a mother. Nor did she truly know the love of a father; Mikaeb Hightower was a hard man and never one for affection. The relationship between father and daughter could best be described as fraught. The girl was in turns ignored or punished severely for her increasingly outrageous acts of rebellion as she grew into a woman.

Lucasta's first love affair was passionate and full of fire.

She ran away from home with Anton Flowers at sixteen years of age and fully intended to bed and wed him before the night was out. The two had exchanged clandestine letters for over a year, meeting in secret and flirting with temptation. They were of an age, childhood playmates and kindred souls. At long last, Lucasta persuaded Anton to the elopement. Her father's men caught up with them when they'd scarcely set foot outside Oldtown. Anton was met with swift justice for absconding with a nobleman's daughter; Lucasta was met with a swift betrothal to a man she'd never met.

Lucasta's first taste of freedom, despite all odds, was at King's Landing.

Lucasta accompanied her husband to the royal city and became a handmaiden of Queen Roslyn Martell. It was there that Lucasta made friends outside of her father's watchful eye and slipped easily into the role of societal darling and companion to the Queen. Lucasta was witty, charming, and outgoing. Where at home her fire was seen as defiance, at court (and with a measure of tact applied) it painted her a colorful character. She eased the way for her far less sociable husband, Ser Gawain Tarly, whose temper and poor graces might otherwise have put him at odds with the court.

Lucasta's first great loss was the death of her oldest child.

Her young son, Gawain, was killed last year when he took a tumble from his horse on a hunting trip. The boy's skull and body were broken, and he died in his bed within hours. Lucasta and her husband's relationship has been strained since the loss of their heir. Of late, however, Ser Gawain has been hoping to try anew to continue the family line.

CLAIM: Lucasta is more concerned with who should not claim the throne.

HEX: #FF3300

Hallo folks, four quick announcements.

First, all major GM characters are at the tourney grounds as of the end of this GM post and are available for collabs. Queen Roslyn Martell is in her fancy special area in the stands (only important folks are allowed there, but since your characters were all important enough to be invited to the feast then you can access that area no problem). Lord Commander Borros Connnington is down among the fighters preparing for the melee. Grand Maester Harwyn is standing off to the side of the fighting area with other maesters waiting to help injured fighters.

If you would like to do a collaborative post with any of them, or if you'd like me or Pahn to play an NPC for you, just let us know and we'll work it out. You'll have at least two weeks (probably a little bit more) to get posts done, so there's plenty of time for collab posts.

Second, the melee is going to be handled as part of the GM post. I'll be doing some shenanigans with dice to determine how far relevant characters get and who wins in the end. Trying to write it all out in posts would be awful for pacing, especially for those who don't have a character involved in the melee, so this is the simplest way to make sure the melee doesn't end up murdering the roleplay via stagnation. If you want one of your characters, or one of their important family members or other NPCs, to take part in the melee then be sure to let me know or include the info in an IC post. If someone involved in the melee has some kind of devious plan or a particular target they would like to beat up, you can let me know that as well (in public or in secret as you prefer) and I'll involve the results of that in the write up of the melee. If you're bummed out about not getting to write out all the gritty details of the fighting, feel free to include a retrospective bit in your post after the melee GM post to tell how things when down from your character's perspective.

Third, because a certain rogue Targaryen has made this come up a while before it was expected, if you have a character that does not want to participate in the things going on in the GM post, feel free to talk to me and Pahn if need some help figuring out something to do. Just chilling and not posting for a round is totally acceptable, especially when we get out to the point when everyone is spread out around Westeros rather than concentrated in King's Landing, but we can always try to figure something out to give your characters something to do. Also, the above collab offer for NPCs and whatnot extends to these situations as well, so keep that in mind.

And finally, because we are cruel GMs and like to make you suffer, I'd like to make you all aware of an update to our rule about posting expectations. Basically if you go two rounds without posting we might kick you for being a slacker, because that means 4+ weeks without posting and that's just excessive. Obviously if you have a good reason for being unable to post then we'll take it into consideration. We'll consider things case by case rather than making an unbending rule about it. Just letting you all know what's up so nobody gets surprised.

I think that's everything. If you have any questions, ask here or in the Discord server and an answer will be provided.

Lady Amber Bolton

HOUSE: House Bolton
NAME: Amber
TITLE(S): Lady Handmaiden of the Queen

AGE: 18, born 293
GENDER: Female

APPEARANCE: Standing at about 5'5, Amber is towered by the rest of her family. Her hair is long to the middle of back, a dark brown that almost looks black at times. Her pale green eyes stand out and some might say it is her most striking feature, except for the permanent smirk on her face. The girl still has her late teenage traits, with a face not entirely out of its youthful stage.

HOUSE MEMBERS: N/A (Will add house members if any players wish to take the Bolton house)

BIOGRAPHY: Amber was sent to King's Landing at the young age of 14, barely a year after she her first period. Her lord father and mother believed she would have better chances at marrying a nice man that would be strong enough to tame her wild spirit. Truth was, Amber was an odd one, prefering Maester Jekonys's lessons to those of Septa Ulenna. She once confessed to her mother she would prefer study and become some sort of scribe rather than throw her life away for a pointless marriage, and a month later she was being shipped away to King's Landing.

Amber doesn't make friends easily, preferring the company of books and those of high intellect. One of the Queen's handmaidens, Gwendys Tarly, was particularly nice to her during her first years. The girls grew close to an extent, until Gwendys fell ill and disappeared for a few months. She was an entirely different person at her return, and so the girls never really got back to what they had been.

Four years later, Amber Bolton has yet to be wed and only a fool would not notice that the Queen's time on the throne was closing to an end in the next few years. She had no plans for that, and she wasn't entirely sure if going in the service of a higher status lady would fulfill her need for thrill.

CLAIM: Anyone who is smart and wise, preferably another Queen rather than a king.

HEX: #A35

POORLY KEPT SECRETS: Amber is known to be bold and straightforward, often making others uncomfortable. However, in public, Amber is an entirely different person and no one would ever suspect the girl of having anything going on between her two ears.

There have been whispers in the recent days that Queen Roslyn has been favouring Amber instead of her primary and older handmaidens. It is known that Amber has refused more than one marriage proposal from various lords of the realm, claiming her devotion to the Queen came first; but some say it is because she is disdainful of anyone with inferior intellect, and has been using the Queen's favour to hold off marriage.

House Reyne

Lady

Female
[spoili]
fTSFMfw.jpg

HOUSE MEMBERS:
Lord Barcet Reyne, deceased): Head of House Reyne until his death in 309 at age 58
Lady Yuliya Reyne (née Stokeworth), (50): Widow to the late Lord Barcet Reyne, mother to the current Lord Reyne
Lord Searle Reyne, (29): Head of House Reyne after the death of his father
Lord Perryn Reyne, (26): Currently the heir to house Reyne, though likely not for long should his brother finally take a wife
Lord Alairn Reyne, (57): Younger brother to the now-deceased Barcet Reyne
[spoili]
Bolded names are those who will be accompanying Avicea to the nameday celebration[/spoili]

BIOGRAPHY:
To begin to tell the story of a Reyne, it is almost not enough to begin with their own birth. Just as surely as they are shaped by their own circumstances and experiences, so too do they inherit the history of their blood. To tell the entire story of their life would require a history lesson - at least in the case of a house as old and steeped in blood as House Reyne.

This lesson was one that Avicea has known almost as long as she could write, in a trembling child's hand, the letters of her name. Her brothers, both older than her in age, were already learning about the world beyond the safe stone walls of their home and discovering this truth for themselves. None of their lives were just their own, shaped of the feuds and ambitions of men and women long dead.

In her sixth summer, Avicea nearly died. The memory of it still lingers at the back of her thoughts and sometimes comes unbidden when she hears strange noises in the dark. In truth, the assassination was intended for her eldest brother, Searle. He had stayed late with his tutor on a particularly difficult lesson, unbeknownst both to the attacker and Avicea. A storm was brewing that night and rain pelted the windows relentlessly while the waves crashed menacingly in the distance. Frightened, especially after Perryn got the wicked idea to tell her stories about the spirits of drowned sailors crawling up from their watery graves in such a storm, Avicea had gone to look for Searle. Older, wise before his time, Searle would always remind her that spirits were just stories brothers told their sisters to frighten them. Yet this night, the nightmares were real.

In the dead of night, the man whose target had been the child heir mistakenly attacks the young girl as she enters her brother's bedchamber. Due to the large difference in expected stature and reality, the blow delivered is not immediately fatal and the assassin is briefly confused by his own failure. This opportunity is just enough that Avicea manages to escape into the small antechamber to her brother's solar and hide herself beneath one of several chests. Her memory afterward is hazy, though her brother asserts that he found her passed out and half-dead. For a time, her situation was precarious but she clung to life and managed to recover. Still, that day marked a significant turning point in her worldview and she has been cognizant of the way her life is tossed in the tides of politics and history since.

The youngest of the children and the only girl, Avicea was both fiercely protected and frequently subject to petty torments. Though she is somewhat spoiled by the doting attention of two protectors, she is not demanding in nature; rather that she is simply accustomed to getting whatever she wishes. Diligent and soft-spoken, she was known amongst the servants of the house in her youth for having never once earned any severe punishments from the septa. Now, it is her excellent embroidery work which earns her their praises.

Aside from the notable incident of her childhood, she has led a relatively cloistered life. Her apparent position as the kitten in a house of lions has given her relative peace.

CLAIM: House Reyne, at the hands of her brother. Failing that, she would see whatever the queen least wishes to see, though she keeps her tongue held on this matter.

The melee GM post is up!

This round of posting and probably the next will be open for you guys to do as you like for mingling amongst each other and/or plotting nefarious deeds. All GM characters except Borros (he's busy doing things elsewhere) are available around the tourney grounds for collabs as well. We're aiming for next GM post to be on the 15th, so plan time for collabs accordingly.

Oh, and some of you will be receiving PMs from me later today regarding some interesting things you can keep to yourself or lay out in your posts as you please. :)

“The Drowned God ain't done with me yet. And I'm sure as shit not done with Westeros.”

HOUSE: GREYJOY
NAME: Valravn Greyjoy, “The Stormwracked Lord”
TITLE(S): Lord, Badass Pirate King

AGE: 34 (born 277 A.C.)
GENDER: Sausage

APPEARANCE: If the Ironborn had the concept of demons, then Valravn would undoubtedly be referred to as “devilishly handsome”. Possessing a long, angular face and the thick braided hair of a veteran raider, his wiry body is commonly clad in water-resistant leathers and adorned with trophies: mercenaries wear their wealth, and Valravn has paid the iron price for his.

HOUSE MEMBERS/CREW MEMBERS:
  • Ambate: First mate of the Stormwrack, Valravn's right hand. Hulking Summer Islander built like a particularly dangerous looking mountain.
  • Simpering Jenny: Escaped Astapori slave, wanted back home for strangling her master. Alarmingly fond of putting sharp objects in people, usually without their permission.
  • Tom Gallows: Westerosi hedge knight who fled east to escape his enemies and found himself crewing the Stormwrack. Really not happy about being back home.
  • A herd of angry sellsails
  • Arneim Greyjoy: Valravn's younger cousin, part of the family who bent the knee to the Lannisters. Drew the short straw and got sent to keep an eye on Cousin Val at court.
  • Some other assholes who Valravn doesn't like

BIOGRAPHY: Blooded and crewing a raiding vessel by his teens, Valravn was raised as the firstborn heir of Lord Ansgar Greyjoy: born to lead the Ironborn and to honour the Drowned God. His late father's ambition soon scuppered this destiny, however, bringing ruin upon House Greyjoy and the armies of House Lannister to the Iron Islands. With most of his family dead or captured, Valravn led a small cluster of ships on a desperate breakout attempt through the blockade of Lannister ships. It was said that he and his followers perished to a man, sinking down into the depths to join their god in his aquatic halls.

Then came the rumours from across the Narrow Sea.

Tales of an Ironborn pirate and sellsword styling himself 'the Stormwracked Lord', leading a band of outcasts and exiles from Essos to the Basilisk Isles. A terror in the art of axe and shield combat, a masterful naval commander and a cunning guerilla leader, utilising such talents to carve out a path as a mercenary leader. Queen Martell's small council put little stock in such rumours until a letter from the Stormwracked Lord arrived at the Red Keep, petitioning the ruler of Westeros for a temporary amnesty in order to attend her nameday celebration. Apparently amused by the notion, Queen Roslyn granted the request.

After fourteen years, Valravn is returning home.

BIOGRAPHY:
In the early days of their marriage, Levyn and Melise Caron thought that the stars shone for them. They were young and fond of one another, having met while Levyn was learning to be lord under his father and visiting other lands. It would have been impossible to keep secret that there was no child born for several years after their marriage.

At last, however, the couple were blessed with a son, Halsem. Shortly after, Brandis was born, followed in short order by Grayven. Outside of his marriage, Levyn had also begun to sow his oats and young Tarla Storm was born between the births of Brandis and Grayven. Eyan Storm was born within the year of Grayven, followed by Edan. A final son, Levysson Caron, was born last.

Unfortunately, this list of felicity was underscored by a darker one. Many of the Caron children did not survive to adulthood. Brandis Caron was particularly afflicted with disease and lived not much past her fourth birthday, a terrible blow to Melise. Feeling suffocated by the numerous living children born out of her husband's affairs, Melise grieved heavily for her daughter.

The bright light of her life were her sons and she was particularly proud of Halsem, who was not only the heir but the strongest of her own brood. Halsem, Grayven, Edan, and Eyan could scarcely be kept apart as little boys and were always play-fighting and getting into mischief. Rather than discourage it, the infectious energy of the sweet gaggle of boys was finally enough to pull Melise from the depression that she had overcome her when Brandis died.

Instead of resenting the illegitimate children any longer, Melise became uncharacteristically welcoming of all the children, even those born to other women, which was something of the talk of other noble ladies in the area. If it hadn't been for this change of heart and the fact that her affection cultivated children who loved her in return, she might not have survived the shock of Levysson's death.

While out playing, Levysson was pretending at being rebels with his brothers and hid himself within a small outcropping of rock. The other boys searched for him but it took over an hour for them to find his body crushed beneath a fallen stone too heavy for him to escape.

It may have been grief that finally killed Melise as she died shortly after a hunting trip taken by the oldest boys. A boar had charged unexpectedly at Eyan's horse, causing it to rear and panic. The animal succeeded in throwing the teen from his horse, and upon his fall, his neck landed on a protruding rock and he died instantly.

The remaining children have known death their entire lives and have been hardened by it. They none of them are much for sentiment longer and are incredibly closely knit through their shared sorrows. Grayven's marriage to Laena Swygert was a rare light of happiness in Nightsong but it was short-lived.

Halsem succumbed to a disease that took him quickly and ravaged his body and mind, leaving Grayven and his wife an inheritors of Nightsong. After so much horrific death, it was almost cathartic when his father
passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Grayven might have thought that the veil of death had been lifted from him at last but fate was to deal him at least one more blow - his beloved wife lost a lot of blood in the birth of their son and her heart rate plummeted even before he made his first cries. She lived long enough to cradle him to her breast but was gone hours later.

The wetnurse for his son, a kitchen girl whose family has served the Carons for years, was selected as she had just given birth to her own son a week before Stephas was born. Keat and Stephas have nursed together at her teat but Grayven always seems to be wary when someone besides him holds the child. His steely demeanor is marked with the fear that if he takes his eyes from his son, the boy too may be ripped away from him.

‌$ HOUSE ‌$
House Baelish

‌$ NAME ‌$
Lacie Baelish

‌$ TITLE(S) ‌$
Lady (ish)

‌$ AGE ‌$
18

‌$ GENDER ‌$
Female

‌$ APPEARANCE ‌$
Lacie is 5'11" and tends to wear loose, plain clothing with no embellishments beyond a gold brooch on her lapel in the shape of their house sigil - a nightingale. She is almost never seen without a thin, light blade on her hip (not armor or a greatsword). Dresses are not common, but she will dress up when it's absolutely required.

‌$ HOUSE ‌MEMBERS:
Dagden Baelish - Grandfather, (Nominal) Lord of House Baelish, Crazyass bastard (according to Kastor), 69
Barden Baelish - Father, 51
Marna Baelish nee Royce - Mother, deceased at 42 a year ago
Nana - Wetnurse
Drisella - Maid
Makar - Steward
Kastor Baelish - Pissy older brother, 27
Ava Baelish nee Corbray - Sister-in-Law, 23
Shanna Baelish - Niece, 2
Brannon Baelish - Nephew, 4 months

‌$ HISTORY ‌$
The Baelishes are an extremely new house possessing a tiny strip of land that Lacie derogatorily refers to as the Nail. Their great-grandfather came from Braavos as a sellsword under the employ of Lord Corbray, though his own father was a member of the Sealord's personal guard, his mother the only daughter of a wealthy merchant. He was a bravo in his youth, but fell in love with the Vale after fighting for the Corbrays there. Though he returned home to a wife and a maternal grandfather determined to push the business on him, he never lost that enamored vision of the Vale, and was determined for his son to experience it for himself. It was not until his death some years later that this ambition was realized, with his son Dagden choosing to serve as a sellsword himself for House Royce. More obsessed with swordsmanship than anything else, he managed to save the Lord of House Royce twice in battle and the two oddly became good friends, with him eventually being rewarded a tiny strip of land and a lordship for his deeds.

This tiny piece of inhospitable land was a far cry from the luxury of Braavos, and the bored Dagden left the running of the estate and the maintenance of their wealth to his young son Barden, who at the time was in his teens. Despite the state of the lands they had been given, Barden turned out to have quite the financial head on his shoulders, building up their wealth by continuing to organize trade with his native homeland of Braavos. His father, in the meantime, remained Lord of House Baelish nominally, preferring to spend his time travelling around the Vale and occasionally assuming a false name and acting as a sellsword for some of the smaller houses. He eventually settled in a hut in the village, where he was known to be a relatively harmless man with the unfortunate habit of picking sword fights with whatever stranger happened to come by, except when he chose to go visit his good friend the Lord of House Royce. Barden married a daughter of House Royce thanks to their parents' fairly good relation in part to solidify their relationship with the older and more powerful house.

Lacie was the second child of this union, and something of an unexpected gift. After the birth of her brother, it seemed for a time that her parents had difficulty conceiving another child, and they had all but given up by the time she was. Her older brother had been vigorously trained by their father to maintain both the business and the estate, determined not to let his son follow in the footsteps of his father. As such, Kastor grew up very serious and not completely fond of their slightly crazy grandfather. Lacie, on the other hand, was coddled and forgiven for most everything. Most particularly since her mother missed her siblings, she became an excuse to go visit Runestone with Dagden and grew up much-loved and played with by both of her grandfathers. She gave her studies some little attention, but found it more fun to practice the water dance style of swordsmanship her grandfather chose to teach her. Her brother married only three years ago and already has two children whom she loves dearly.

So, I've been using the word 'shenanigans' a lot in regards to the GM post that is now up. Now you will know why. Things are starting to happen and there are all sorts of fun secrets floating around. Good times, right? If you hate the fancy font of the notes in the post, you can find plain text versions at the bottom of this post.

Aside from that, there are a few orders of business to address, so I'll try to be brief.

Since this post is pushing the time IC ahead a good way, you can certainly have your characters do stuff in the afternoon rather than just rushing to evening events. Multiple posts for this round are fine if you want to separate such things. We're going to make this posting round three weeks long, so next GM post expected around December 6, to make time for the potential extra posts and to allow folks to not have to go super rush mode for collabs.

Speaking of collabs, due to the events in the GM post I'm going to need to do some GM collabs with some of you. The only one that's sort of mandatory is for Haylana Forrester. All other characters presented with bits of intrigue can choose to disregard them and thus have no need for a collab to resolve them. Feel free to poke me in your private plotting channels on the Discord server to coordinate those or ask questions. Everyone else, you do you, you'll get some funsies thrown your way eventually.

This three week posting period is a good time to get characters introduced and whatnot. We would like to see Steffin Stark make an appearance (go do a collab with ur waifu bruh), and House Lannister could do with a character sheet and an appearance from said character. If you want to take on a second or third character, now is a very good point to do so to get them ready for joust day and potential shenanigans to come. We'd like to have all the big names in the game as soon as possible, and when it comes time for the GM post for the joust taking place we will be closing new character creation until we get to another clean point for additions.

And finally, speaking of the joust, it will be coming soonish. Maybe not for a couple months IRL time, but still, it's a thing to be aware of. The requirements for entering the joust are higher than the melee: the entrant must have a horse, armor suitable for jousting, and their own jousting lances. If one of your characters or any NPCs attached to your house will participate in the joust, let me know in this thread or in your plotting channel on Discord and be sure to include a rough estimate of how good at jousting they actually are on... let's say a 1-10 scale, with 1 being utter shit and 10 being they've won multiple jousts in the past. There'll be more reminders and more details on how the joust will work (spoilers: I'll be making an actual tournament bracket and filling empty slots with NPCs) at a later date, but the sooner I get the info the sooner I can start planning nefarious fun things.

My dearest Grand Maester,

I must regretfully inform you that your friend Cowen proved an impediment to my work. He overheard things he should not have and he threatened to spread the word to unfriendly ears. He had an unfortunate fall into the Bloodpit and tragically died on impact. It was a shame to see an already bloody place claim another life, but alas, history has always been written in layers of blood.

My sincerest apologies,
Sam

Lord Barlay Manwoody,

You are invited to dine with myself and present members of the Small Council on the eve of my nameday's feast.

Please do not bring along your horde of bastards.

Queen Roslyn Martell

You put on a marvelous performance this afternoon. I believe that no entertainment should be free, and I am quite happy to provide payment for my enjoyment. Bring this letter with you to The Lady's Lament on the Street of Silk and you will be granted an hour with a beauty of your choosing. We have women and men to suit most any fancy, and they are quite eager to see if your prowess on the field is matched by your prowess in bed. Come by any time, our doors and legs are always open.

Kind regards,
Lucias Longman, Master of The Lady's Lament, Purveyor of Pleasure, Merchant of Merriment, Broker of Bliss, and Dealer of Delights
