He was free.... His hands ripped off the mages hood and he stared into Cameron's eyes. As cool and collected as his colleague, with the same personality. What model she was, he didn't know....But at the question for whatever reason, he froze in uncertainty. A fraction of a second before he glanced pointedly at their audience and then spoke in a calm tone.

"Beautiful. "

He then turned and with a wave of his hand, pulled a chair over his direction as he took a seat. Any deeper information could wait.

He wasn't about to reveal more just yet. Not before so many that could compromise both.

McCree would noticeably look at Shaitan as he was free from the mage cuffs, or whatever the hell those things were. See, Jesse didn't like to trouble himself with too much detail, he was never one to listen to closely on the mission briefing, much to the dismay of his mentor. It's not like anything he did needed its own damn lecture, anyway.

But, he knew that Shaitan...wasn't natural, in a way. Not jus' from his attitude, but just the air around him feels..off, hard to explain, really. McCree would noticeably flinch as Shaitan casually used his otherworldly power to bring a chair over. There are some things that are jus' odd.

Then, there are things that just ain't right.

The agent looked at the ground. "That's exactly why you and Miss Kusanagi are being transferred to Japanese custody. You're security officers there. Therefore, you two will be charged under Japanese law." He said. "And uh, the murder of FBI Special Agent Cain Winters, as well as the Crime of Shadowrunning. Even if you didn't murder him, you'll still fall within Aiding and Abetting as a member of the team." The agent sighed. "You seem like a good person, Akane. I wish we didn't have to arrest you, but, the law's the law."

"M-Murder?! I don't...!" Akane exclaimed, evidently even more alarmed the more she learned about her exact situation. And... shadowrunning? Aiding and abetting... Well, admittedly, it looked a little bad that she had suddenly awakened in a room full of other people, presumably also being charged with the same crime as she did, but she could explain... Well, no. She couldn't really explain that either.

The only thing she could really make heads or tails out of was that this was really, really weird.

Still, she knew that there was no sweet talking out of this, as it seemed that they were rather firm about this. But... what was she doing outside of Japan, she wondered? Either way, as long as she got home and got a fair trial where she was able to plead her case, then everything should hopefully turn out to be okay, right?

...

Times like these made optimism look like foolishness.

"I... understand," she said somewhat dejectedly, practically resigned to her fate.

Faith finds a vent up above the bed Motoko is sitting on. It appears as if she had a boost, she could reach it. The guards made a glance up at it, but shrugged it off. This was a police station, and one that was heavily guarded. They thought that if Faith DID manage to get out, she wouldn't get very far. It wouldn't hurt for Faith to try it, though.

There wouldn't be any noticeable effect to taking off the Mage cuffs and Hood. However, several floors below, an alarm bell would ring. Unfortunately, that floor happened to be host to Ares corp's best of the best:

Ares Firewatch.

Meanwhile, the commlink of a young Asian lawyer would buzz. "Suspects are now attempting escape." It read. The woman sighed. She dug into her purse, and grabbed some Aspirin. The actions of her clients, who weren't guilty of murdering Agent Winters, were giving her a headache. Now, due to their actions in the police station and the hotel, the charges placed on them would be legitimate. Never had a case given her some much trouble.

Faith sighed... Looks like her cover was blown, she nodded slightly towards the direction of their recently freed mage, before she suddenly ran towards the bed Motoko was sitting on, using it to spring herself upwards as she busted through the vent. As soon as she was in, she moved quickly, keeping a carefull ear out for any trouble as she began to stealthily crawl through the vents, keeping a low profile as possible... She was fairly certain it would be obvious she was in the vents, but, not letting the guards know exactly where she was would give her plenty of time to escape... Or, so she hoped anyways.

"I know just as much as you do, Mr. Bond." Motoko said. "Anyway, we'll probably get out of here one way or another."

The guards would look at each other. "Uh, I'll be right back. Let me ask Detective Cavendish, Mr. Bond." One of them would say. He left the room. The other one aimed the assault rifle towards the cell, making sure nobody moved.

"Tell your friend to be quick, would you?" James muttered, pressing himself against the barred wall. His words carried just as much charisma as they always had, however this time, they had an undertone- and for once, it was not a sexual one.

By pressing himself against the wall opposite the only remaining armed guard, he was thus acting a shield for the rest of the group, distracting his opponents in order to prevent him noticing Faith's escape. Furthermore, if he were to continue baiting the guard, pushing him until he tried to strike him with his weapon (He was hardly going to open fire on the prisoners; the gun was just another threat). At that point, he could grapple with the man who, unlike him, would be unable to kill. He could have an advantage, get the gun, retreat further back into the cell, and shoot the son of a gun is he did not come back with cigarettes. From there, he could remove the hinges with a few more bullets, and eventually blast his was out of the whole damn building. It would distract the guards from the group in the vent too

"Mr.Bond! Now that was awfully polite of your friend. With manners like that, you would think he would have sweet talked his was to 'Commander' by now. Bu you, on the other hand? I don't know a thing about you" Bond tilted his head and leaned in towards the solider "Is there a man or a woman under that helmet?"

Cameron began tapping the floor with her foot, a strange sight for the cyborg that usually sat as still as death, watching, waiting. This was more than a simple case of nerves or boredom, rather, with each strike she used the vibration to determine the weakest point on the floor, similar to the way that the military used sonar and echolocation to determine what was around them.

The point of all this?

Faith was ascending, true to her name. Cameron was going to take them straight to hell.

With a sudden, silent strike, Cameron began striking the floor at it's weakest point, over and over again. Her incredible strength and toughened coltan steel endoskeleton meant she could make it through in about thirty seconds, if the others protected her for that long.

Faith would find a grate overlooking a detectives office. Several detectives milled about, some holding coffee, others were typing away at computers. You didn't see Cavendish, however. The detectives didn't know that one of their prisoners was crawling through the vents above them. Hell, even if they did, that wasn't their job to catch an escaped prisoner. Especially one considered as dangerous as Faith. Two Detectives would crack a joke.

"How many Shadowrunners does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" A young male leaning against a desk would ask. "Five. A Hacker to turn off the electricity, a Gun Bunny to 'extract' the former light bulb, a Face to haggle on the price of a new bulb, and an adept to do all the actual work, using a Cybered out Troll as a ladder. And it'll cost you 1000 nuyen a head, too."

The other detective would laugh. "I wonder if that team we got locked up changed the Lightbulb in Agent Winters's hotel room." He said, still chuckling.

"You can bet they did." Was the answer he received from a nearby detective.

Anyway, moving further down the vent, there appeared to be a branch.

The guard sighed, and took off his helmet. "Look, Pal. I'm not too interested in talking with drek like you." He said. "But since it's one of yer last wishes before you get locked up in a hole for good, I'll show ya." His voice was gruff, and he spoke with a speech impediment of some kind. When he got the helmet off, everyone would see that he had tusks of some kind.

Motoko was lying on the bed in the room. She was staying out of everything like McCree or like Jude. She was under arrest. They had caught her and won. If a way out was presented to them, Motoko would take it and attempt to get back to her world. But for now, Motoko just wanted to rest. She let out a large sigh.

Faith silently shook her head at the joking detectives down below... At the very least they weren't aware of her presense, yet, it looked like she still had a chance to make a break for it, if she chose her battles very wisely... As soon as she came to a branch, she paused for a moment, before choosing to go left... Being carefull to look around, just incase she stumbled across a loose vent grate or what-not; she figured if worse came to worse, and she hit a snag in the vent, she could always turn back, she had a bit of maneuvering room after all, though she hoped it would stay this way.

"Mmn... Maybe some tea, if this place even has any," Akane sighed dejectedly, sitting back in her bed, "Or... even water would work if they don't. I mostly just need to think things over right now concerning my defense and... other things that have been bugging me."

Like how she ended up here... outside of Japan.

"I assume that the... other people that I was found with are in the same position as I am?"

She approaches what looks like an elevator shaft. Down below, she can hear several voices.

"One of them has escaped. The mage can use magic." You hear them. "Lockdown the building until situation is normal." The rest of the orders are obscured as the elevator starts up. As it passes, there Appears to be a maintenance ladder Faith can grab.

She has no worry about the elevator starting back up, as the building is currently on full lockdown.

"Right. Could we get some tea here?" The agent nods. A nurse walks in, and leaves to make some tea.

The agent shakes his head. "Depends on their involvement. Miss Kusanagi attacked no one, so you will be in the same boat as her. However, the mage, he wouldn't give his name, caused significant property damage, and Mr. Bond, well, you know his situation. Shooting two officers, and knocking out a detective. They're all under arrest for the murder of Agent Winters, however."

"I see..." Akane sighed, still trying to fit all the pieces together, though evidently, the whole puzzle wasn't going to come together if there were still several pieces missing.

It seemed that even when bedridden, there was always a job to do.

"So then... Tell me, if you will, since I don't exactly have any memory of even leaving Japan... How did you catch wind of our... operations, or whatever you'd call whatever we were supposedly doing?"

Faith rubbed her chin, it was pretty obvious they were aware of the escape attempts... She would have to rendezvous with whoever else managed to flee the building after she herself got out; looks like the elevator had passed, and something told her it was the only one that would make it through the shaft, considering the building was on lockdown. With that in mind, she quickly leapt towards the maintenance ladder, grabbing hold of it as she began to climb down the ladder, being as cautious as possible as she swiftly descended, trying to find a more stealthy spot to exit on the ground floor, other than the front entrance of course... She knew it would be guarded quite heavily while the building was in lockdown.

If this Conjecture of his proves adequate, It'd be best for him to hide his artes for as long as possible to prevent appearing like a freak or a monster, As Elympions often thought Rieze Maxian's to be. While Faith investigated any possible exits in the Elevator Shaft, two members of Ares Firewatch would make their way through the building. Two opened an upper floor on the elevator. A rope was dropped through the gap in the door. Two soldiers armed with assault rifles slid down the rope. Faith would feel the barrel of an assault rifle pressed into her back. "Ares Firewatch, you're under arrest." A male voice said. The butt of the rifle would then be slammed hard into Faith, knocking her out.

Talk about police brutality.

Faith would wake up back in the holding cell. The Firewatch guards were holding down Shaitan and Cameron. One held a snarling coal-black German Shepherd with glowing red eyes on a leash. The others held the rest of the group crouched against a wall, with a drone monitoring everything. The Knight Errant Orc from earlier was nowhere to be seen.

Two Hours Later:

Anna Shen was a prominent lawyer. She was successful, young, and beautiful. She supported Runners that had been arrested, and was friends with the District Attorney of Washington FDC. She was no nonsense, morally upright (to a degree)

She was also a genetically altered catgirl:

Cat-Ears-21133.jpg

Anna Shen walked into the Knight Errant building in central DC. She wore a plain white suit with a short skirt. In her hand was a black briefcase. Four Firewatch guards escorted her in. Their faces were obscured by gas masks. One of them pointed an assault rifle at her while another gave her a patdown, and scanned her briefcase. They then began walking down the hall towards the elevator.

"What's with the security, Nya?" Anna jokingly asked, looking at one of them.

The guard didn't turn around, but just kept walking. "It's to prevent your clients from escaping. We've already had one attempt escape, Miss Shen. Detective Cavendish will be taking you to them now."

The Firewatch soldier clutching an assault rifle pushed her forward."Hey! Watch the suit-nya!" She cried out. "It's new!" She continued forward until they came up on Detective Cavendish standing in an elevator.

"Greetings, Miss Shen. I suppose you know your clients have actual charges against them? Charges that aren't, as you claim, baseless?" Detective Cavendish laughed. He grabbed the pistol at his side to show her in case he thought she would try anything.

Anna laughed. "Talked with the DA and FBI. It's all false imprisonment. They're technically under the FBI's jurisdiction, since they were suspected of murdering an FBI Agent." She said in a serious tone. "Furthermore, Mr. Cavendish, the FBI may press charges against you for harming their suspects!"

Cavendish stood back. It seems he had been put in his place. Anna continued, reaching to the point of near screaming. "I order you to release the suspects now, or face charges from the FBI, Mr. Cavendish. Charges that could ruin your career, and your life. Ares won't protect you from these!" At that point, the two Firewatch guards had backed off, and Anna was waving her arms in the air. Her tail flicked, and her ears twitched as she shouted too, so it was terrifying, but cute at the same time.

Detective Cavendish took a second to compose himself. "Very Well, Miss Shen." He said, nodding. "Follow me." He would lead her to an elevator at the end of the hallway. He would tap the button leading to the holding cells. The elevator would go up, giving the occupants a view of the surrounding buildings and street below as the elevator climbed. Finally, the door opened. The passed a bored guard at a receptionist's desk, and four Firewatch soldiers in their riot armor, closely watching the holding cell, which had become as quiet as a library.

When they passed into the holding cell, Cavendish would point. "They're all yours now." He said in a serious tone before leaving the room.

Anna sat down across from everyone, and opened her briefcase. She shuffled some papers. "Greetings, I'm Anna Shen, your lawyer. Don't worry, you'll be free soon, but, I need a favor for you all. Shall we talk for a second?" She said.

Rachel nodded. "Thank you." And began heading down to the room Akane was in.

"Ah... I see. I understand," Akane nodded, not having any particular objection to the matter. Still, the young woman decided to prepare to brace herself, as though anticipating having to react to the woman accusing her of the murder of the so-called Agent Winters.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Special Agent Rachel Kellogg made her way to a Nurse's Station. "I'm here to see Miss Tsunemori?" She flashed her FBI badge. A bored nurse sat playing something on her commlnk. She pointed to a door. "Down at the end of the hall. Some FBI guys are guarding it for God knows what reason."
Rachel nodded. "Thank you." And began heading down to the room Akane was in.
The woman stepped into the office and adjusted her tie. The other agent sitting in the room looked at her for a moment before standing and departing the room. "Miss Tsunemori, I am Special Agent Rachel Kellogg, the partner of Agent Cain Winters. I would like to talk to you for a moment.

Faith rubbed the back of her head, still hearing a slight ringing noise in her ears from that impact.

"I would have gone willingly... If they asked nicely..." She muttered to herself, shaking her head from side to side.

It seemed she was back in the same room she had escaped from not long ago... What a mess, though honestly she didn't really feel too guilty about making a run for it; since a break was already in progress, she might as well have gone and broken out. She sat on the bed for the time being, looking up at their lawyer... A genetically altered cat-girl... She had yet to see one up close, so that particular trait was quick to draw her interest, but when she finally spoke, her tone seemed to take on a more wary one.

"What kind of... Favor?" She asked.

"Ah... I see. I understand," Akane nodded, not having any particular objection to the matter. Still, the young woman decided to prepare to brace herself, as though anticipating having to react to the woman accusing her of the murder of the so-called Agent Winters. She almost hadn't noticed the other agent leaving when Kellogg would enter, pursing her lips.

At the very least, a goodbye would have been nice.

"I'm still insisting that I wasn't involved with the murder, i-if you're here to talk about that, that is."

Rachel sat down in the chair. She drew the curtains closed, and looked at Akane. Her voice took on a hushed tone.

"You're innocent. You were framed, Miss Tsunemori. You and everyone else were framed." She said. "You weren't even on the suspect list. I don't know what the hell is going on, but I have an idea." She pulled her chair up next to Akane's bed, and straightened her tie.

"Would you like to hear it?"

"Ah...?"

Akane could only let out a quizzical sound as Rachel would seem to say the exact opposite of what she had been expecting. So she really wasn't going crazy after all, she and the others really were framed then! Well, at least, she knew for a fact that she didn't do anything, but it was also nice to know that the people whom she had seen when she woke up in the unfamiliar territory were also not actually criminals.

That is, innocent of the specific crime.

Still, this seemed too convenient. Keeping that in mind and maintaining a wary state of mind, Akane nodded.

"Y-Yes... Please tell me everything that you know."

And just like that, Cameron's personality adaptation matrix kicked on. Through plot convience (:|) the metal in her cell was stronger than the coltan that made up her frame. Talking was her only way out of this.

"Why am I in here?" Her terminator mind mimicking the sound of distress and underlying fear perfectly. "I didn't hurt anyone. I was so scared I hid under my bed, hoping they weren't going to kill me."

"What's going on Ms. Shen."

"You're not guilty." Rachel said. She brushed a lock of brown hair from her face. "None of you are at all. You all aren't even on the suspect list. I don't know what's gotten into the FBI allowing Knight Errant to take over the case." She looked at Akane. "Anyway, we're willing to overlook all of your other crimes and send you all home." She looked away from Akane. "There is a catch, however. I want you and the others to find out who it was that killed Agent Winters. If you come across the information he had, that would also be helpful." She seemed to be tearing up. "You have full UCAS government sanction to do what you have to do. Just find out who did this."

Anna would smile as she looked over her papers. "It's from the FBI. Rachel Kellogg, she was the partner of Agent Winters." She reached into her coat pocket, and reached for a stick of gum. She put it in her mouth, and chewed it for a second. "She... And the rest of the FBI want you to find the information Winters had, and his killers. You will be paid for this, and you can return to your worlds. This is a Government sanctioned Shadowrun." She scratched her head, and looked at the crowd. "What do you all say?"

Eh? It was that easy, huh?

Assuming that Rachel wasn't simply playing Akane for a fool, then she was certainly right. The thing with this talk of Knight Errant taking over their case was strange. In fact, as stressed before by her, this whole scenario was strange. She didn't really know what to make of it, except for the unlawful murder of an officer of the law, the Winters that Rachel had mentioned.

Well, at least there was someplace to go from here.

030.png

"The catch seems like a fair trade, yes," Akane nodded, averting her gaze for a moment, "It'd indeed be a shame if the murder case of an officer were to go unresolved, so I'd help you even if it wasn't to be the condition for me getting back home safe and sound. Just point me in the right direction and I'll see if I can pick up any potential leads... That is, me and my future associates, I suppose."

After a small breath, she spoke again upon noticing Rachel tear up a little.

"Ah, excuse me... If I may ask, were you particularly close to this... Agent Winters, miss?"
