The year is 2020, and Earth is on fire.

A group called the E.I. at the beginning of the year began secretly kidnapping and training people to help them take over the world. These people were regular members of society, teachers, students, criminals, if it looked like they could be swiped without any real retaliation, they were. The world was none the wiser.

Several such recruits were collected from the general population and chosen to be trained underneath the three founders of this mysterious group. A school gym teacher named Tyler Haak, a large viking looking mercenary named Otto White, a former U.S. military infantryman Maine, and Daisuke a giant pervert/former yakuza member. After three months of training under the First, Second, and Third founders, the secret facility in which they were being trained was attacked by factions within the E.I. They hit fast and hard, sending the whole facility into chaos. Leading the group of trained E.I. recruits out of the facility, the Third founder led the small group to North Korea, where the rest of the E.I. forces had gathered. In a stunning display of brute force, hundreds of E.I. VTOL troop transport gunships assaulted the capitol, took over it and the nearby military base, and then executed the dictator.

However, the group of recruits were repulsed by this actions, and Tyler, Daisuke lashed out at the Second, prompting him to kill Daisuke. Daisuke was only saved by a chance, as a passing E.I. infantryman assisted burying Daisuke, Daisuke's consciousness escaped into the man, making him a target of interest for the Second founder. The Second founder had Tyler, Adam (The E.I. infantryman), another man who was recruited by the E.I. who vaguely reminded everyone of a russian, and Alkura (the daughter of the third founder). In a display of defiance (facilitated only by the Third Founder's intervention), Otto White and Lazaro (A crazed murderer who was only assisting them for the pure off chance they might get to kill someone) led a daring rescue of the prisoners, escaping to Sryia with them on a jet.

After they landed, Otto talked them through the Airport, calling in a favor from the commanding officer of the troops stationed there. Otto took the group to his home, and coincidentally, the place he buried his family. The group rested there for a day, but unfortunately they were sold out by the very commanding officer that Otto had called a favor from. A team of E.I. troops trained to track deserters followed them, and then they attacked in the night. The battle was brief but bloody, and it was discovered the very next day, in a letter from the Third founder, that the troops were all cloned, an attempt from the E.I. to make soldiers loyal, easy to train, equip, and recruit.

The group fled in the VTOL jet provided by the Third, guided to some mysterious facility by a man they only know as "Deanta" supposedly a trusted ally and teacher of the Third founder. As they got off the VTOL jet, they were greeted by a huge cheering crowd. Thousands of people who had hidden from the E.I.'s secret influence in underground societies had gathered into a single united rebellion, and this group of rag tag E.I. rebels were their largest hope in defeating the group. As it turned out, while the E.I. had a righteous goal, the goal did not justify the means through which they planned to execute it. With much of the world under the control of the E.I. (Facilitated by the E.I. implanting trained members of the group into the governments of nations worldwide, and then using their influence to convince them to join the International Nations Union, or INU, with the newly formed nation of the E.I. at the head, and major military superpowers like Russia and the U.S. backing up the group with the full might of their military.

In a surprise move, the rebellion turned on this coalition, and moving out from facilities all over the world they attack the E.I., intent on freeing the world from this tyranny. The E.I. rebels themselves spearheaded an assault straight into the main E.I. base, an attack that was wiped out, but still managed to distract the E.I. long enough for the rebels to defeat the E.I. in other places around the world.

Feeling threatened by this, the E.I. detonated the world's supply of nuclear weapons, reducing the population from 7.4 billion to three million in minutes. Those people who survived were transported, as if by an act of some deity, to a new world. Some land in deserts, some in forests, some in plains, some alone, and some in groups, but all appear, alive and no worse then they were on Earth. Something is strange about this world though, while it looks like Earth, and the animals do as well, the air is tingling with an energy that was not prevalent in society before, and all over the world these people have begun to realize that they can now use something strange and previously impossible, magic. In the background secret forces seem to be manipulating the situation though, and somewhere the immortals that survived the nuclear blasts are still alive.

It is now up to humanity to rebuild.

Otto White
-

He regarded everything that was said before he stood and headed to his room to freshen himself up and change his clothes. The toiletries had been grabbed on his way up as well. Shampoo and soap were simple things along with a form of toothpaste, for Otto though the use of these weren't as needed as for the others. He took off his clothes and heated his skin just hot enough to burn away the muck and grime that had built up from the past few days, doing the same in his mouth to clean his teeth and burn away and bacteria that caused any foul smells on his breath. He saw that there was a small basin of water that had been brought up before he had entered the room, it was in front of the room's mirror which let him look himself over. He felt older then when this whole thing had started even though he didn't look it, he held his eye lid down on his blinded eye as he looked at the milky white film that covered it with only the rose pink color of what was his red iris looking back in the mirror. The scars and cuts on his skin from healed over wounds when they were attacked in Syria that had yet to tan to the same color as the rest of his skin, the same being said for his left arm to a lesser degree after it had been taken off in the air drop over Korea. He sighed as he heated up the water with his hands and dunked his head in, holding it there as he let the silence the water afforded him to wash over him, to let him relax. When he pulled his head out he looked at the shampoo he had been given, it was a simple bar of soap rather then shampoo as they knew it back on earth and it has the scent of lavender he gave a shrug as he wet the bar and lathered it in his hands. He washed slowly, making sure to get every strand and knot straightened out and clean which was a bit of a task due to the length on top but it came out eventually at which point he dunked his head again and ran his hands through to get all the soap out and used his heat to dry his face and hair.
he grabbed the clothes he had bought the day before and put them on, the same all black color scheme as his clothes from E.I which he had been wearing for who knows how long. He was satisfied by all of it and headed back out.

Alkura

Alkura nodded at Tyler and followed after Tyler. When they got back to the room they had left, there was not only a set of clothes waiting for Alkura, but also a small note from Magister written in english. The elegant letters written in not printed, but cursive calligraphy. The note was simple and elegant, reading "These are for the girl you picked up last night, they should fit her well enough. The patch is for her eye, and the cloak is for her too. Cover it up, for her safety, and cover her up as well. I'd recommend cutting her hair to make her less recognizable, it'll make her easier to hide in public.". A simple set of clothes. Black pants and a tunic, with a small eyepatch and crimson cloak provided. Next to the pile of clothes were two other items, a leather strap for tying hair in place, and a pair of scissors. Alkura picked up the note and read it quietly, and realized the truth in the statement. Standing out in a society like this, and with Adler plus Morded, Adler's henchwoman, looking for her, it would make her an easy person to find. Once she looked back at the note again though, she wondered why that small child creature had known that she had to hide from someone that was looking for her. The hair on her neck stood on end as she let the last thought pass into her mind. The creature certainly knew quite a bit about some things that perhaps it shouldn't have... Next to the pile of neatly folded clothes was also a rolled up bandage, and next to it was some sort of salve. The note also had a bit related to this. "The salve is a disinfectant, similar to a medicinal substance you had called "PRID", but not quite the same. It will help. Apply it to her injury." The note ended with a signature that read "Magister".

Alkura said nothing and walked over to the small bowl of water. Doing her best, Alkura cleaned her hair and brushed her teeth. Thankfully the concept of personal hygiene existed in the society, mainly thanks to the influence of more modern humans. After she was finished attending to her own hygiene Alkura looked to her bandage, quickly untying the knot that held it together, and wincing as the dried blood that had soaked into and bonded to the bandage she wore was peeled away from the wound, causing the girl slight discomfort. She felt sick though when she looked at the wound. It had only been a couple of days since she had recieved the wound, but parts of the wound still oozed blood, and it was a terrible injury that was inflicted on her. It was a miracle that she hadn't suffered worse. The wound was approximately six inches long, and drew a jagged line on her abdomen. It was one hell of an injury. Alkura didn't say much about it, she simply rubbed the salve onto the injury, again wincing at the discomfort that it caused, and then turned to applying the bandage, asking only once for Tyler's help when she was tying it in place. When she was finished, she got dressed, putting on everything except for the eyepatch and the cloak, and pulled back her hair and tied it in place with the leather strip in a ponytail. Then she turned to pick up the scissors, holding them out to Tyler. She looked slightly conflicted. "Should I cut my hair?" Alkura would leave it up to Tyler. If she thought so, she'd let Tyler cut the hair that was already tied in place. All the woman would have to do is cut below the base of the ponytail, and then the deed would be done, Alkura would put on the cloak and eyepatch and they would leave together to go downstairs. If not, Alkura would put on the cloak and eyepatch and go downstairs with Tyler anyways. Either way, the choice was Tyler's.

Lucien and Cal

Lucien and Cal left shortly after Tyler and Otto did, heading upstairs. The pair trimmed their hair and the facial hair that had appeared on their faces, Cal shaving his face bald, with Lucien leaving behind a small goatee. In the end, both got dressed in their typical clothing. Lucien was in his suit, which he had repaired yesterday (so well in fact that one couldn't tell that he had been blown up and thrown through walls nearly a dozen times in the suit), and Cal was in his labcoat, white shirt and slacks (Both had been able to go and visit a seamstress who had originally lived on earth). Even the blank white mask that Cal typically wore had been fixed, and now rested on his hip. Before long, both appeared downstairs again, looking far better groomed then before, teeth brushed, hair washed, trimmed, and combed, clean shaven and prepared for the meeting they had.[/fieldbox]

Adam Kane

Adam listened to Tyler as she continued to explain the set of powers they should have. It was funny its still hard to believe that Adam has powers. With all the drama, murder, death, and confusion he realized just how cool this situation was. He smiled at no one inperticular as he felt the whole backstabbing thing behind them all. He looked at the bartender and had a weird thought, maybe that alcohol was magic after all.

Once Tyler, Otto and Alkura left Adam looked at everyone else. "She really changed right? I mean she's taking charge of this whole thing." He glanced at Cal then at Lucien as if to say they are being out done. "Ok, well I'm gonna get washed up, I smell like sweat, booze and some weird kind of animal so".

Adam picked up his soaps and essentials from the bartender. He headed up to his room walking in to a freshly bathed Otto. "Oh, hey." He looked at Otto's new clothes. "You look like you just jumped out of a rpg." He got his stuff that Daisuke had bought him and laid it out on the bed. He winced at the clothing choices his counter part bought him. "Geez, he wants me to dress like a level 1 game character." He saw the roll of material and sowing gear. "I guess I can make a hoodie."

Adam waited till he was alone and got cleaned up. He looked miserable as the water was ice cold, he finished rather quickly and put on his clothes. A simple pair of pants, a tunic, his weapons strapped to him and of course his sneakers. He quickly made his way downstairs.

Tyler

Tyler stopped inside the room at the sight of more clothes and a note left on one of the beds. As Alkura read it, Tyler read from behind her. Magister was right. Despite the feeling of unease it gave her that the little guy, girl, thing new all about Alkura, it was right that they needed to work on an appearance change for Alkura for her own safety. "This is why I wanted you to stay inside…" She muttered aloud with a sigh, considering her options. Let Alkura come with them where they can keep an eye on her and have her surrounded by people that can protect her, but she'll be out in the open. Or make her stay inside where she's not so exposed butt there won't be others to watch over her.

It was a hard decision to make. Either way, the girl was at risk. She thought while she cleaned up. Her dirt-covered skin needed some scrubbing and it sure got it. Tyler was able to wash up, including arduous task of washing her long hair which was down to her butt now. Working some sort of old style comb through it, reminded her of how long it had been since she was taken by the E.I. She let Alkura do her own thing until she requested help to secure her new bandage. Tyler placed it with ease and a small smile before returning to dressing. She pulled on a pair of black pants and a black bodice. When she was laced in, the woman circled her arms to test her range of motion, giving a smirk to herself when she noted that it was better than wearing a long-sleeve tunic since this thing had no real sleeves.

After pulling her own hair up into a high ponytail, locks streaming blue all the way down her back, she addressed Alkura's question about her own hair. Tyler took the scissors. "I only wish we could dye it too." She wiggled the leather strap down in Alkura's hair just an inch or so to give her plenty of room to be able to tie it up in the future without it being such a pain in the ass. With a few cuts, the younger girl's hair fell free and Tyler handed the locks in her hand over to Alkura. "Better your hair than your head. Don't forget the cloak and the patch."

She gave the girl a light smile and then went back down stairs, eyeing everyone up and down. It was nice to know they could clean up pretty well. Tyler herself was suited up and loaded down with her own weapons as well as Alkura's sword on her hip. "Everyone ready?"

He had rocked back and forth in a chair in the main dining room as he waited for the others with the ravens doing their own thing. He saw Lucien and Cal come down after him both looking just as they had when he and the others had first arrived at E.I. Adam was next looking simple and plain which in the grand scheme was for the best less they draw unneeded attention. Alkura and Tyler came next with Alkura's hair cut herself being all cleaned up while Tyler was in a similar state of being cleaned while she was also wearing something...rather unique which would no doubt get some leering looks and probably more than one comment from Daisuke. "Ready as ever captain." Otto gave a mock salute as he stood up with hands in his pockets and spear on his hip.

Lucien and Cal

Lucien and Cal both looked over the group as they came down the stairs. While they seemed to overall approve, they lingered on Tyler for a moment. "Not something I would think one would wear to meet a king, but he has already seen you yesterday so...." The comment was Cal's. It didn't take long however, before the same group of guards and administrators from yesterday appeared outside the inn.

Magister

Magister was with thegroup of administrators, and she looked all of the group over before nodding silently (quite an odd sight since the upper half of her face was covered with a mask), and walking out the door, indicating for the group to follow along. The entire group look sufficiently armed, and those that weren't, namely Lucien and Cal, Magister trusted could hold their own in a fight. The winding path through the streets, closely accompanied by a contingent of soldiers on either side. At one point the walk slowed to a standstill, the marketplace being the area they had to go through. The human body traffic was insane though, preventing the group from moving quickly as the press of people swirled every which way, the market aswarm with market stalls and patrons alike.

Finally, after an hour of walking through the street, they managed to make it to the castle. The group was escorted inside, and then brought into the throne room. The king did not sit in his throne at the top of the stairs. No, he was at the bottom of them, speaking with his staff around a table. The men spoke quietly in low tones, and as the group approached, they looked up and at the group that came in. Three men in total were there, aside from the king. Two were velux, the elongated fang-like canines and cat-like irises marking them as such. Two of the men were military advisors from the east and west portions of the kingdom, while the third was the chief military advisor of the king. Patches on their shoulders denoted them as such.

Johnathan Offrish

Johnathan held his hand up in greeting and stepped forward. "Good morning to you all, I trust your rest was well." Johnathan gestured to the three men, who were now standing in line slightly behind Johnathan. "These men are my military advisors. I'll spare you the details on where they are from, but in short they have provided the intel you'll be operating with. Come, please have a look at the map." The king gestured to the table where a map of the kingdom lay arrayed, held down in the corners by small pins. "Now, your assignment lays to the south, at the inland sea of the kingdom. Johnathan pointed at the inland sea, then drew his hand up to a small port town, tapping on the location. "The town i'm sending you to is here. We recieved a report that a gang of ability users has taken to harassing the local garrison, and is robbing caravans traveling along the main road in and out of the town. It's severely hamparing trade, and the gang seems to be getting larger. I sent an order of knights from the realm around two months ago but.... they haven't returned. They were a smaller order, numbering only thirty or fourty, but it was an entire order and they were rather elite. I fear the worst. Moreover, the gang seems to be amassing followers, lord knows what for. I'll entrust you with dealing with them how you see fit, be that by capturing and imprisoning them for a trial, or executing them, given you have justification of course. The money you have left from yesterday will be your travel funds. You'll be sent via an airship. It's a small balloon, but it moves faster then horses can over the ground and continues to travel even overnight. If the winds are right, you could be there within five days." The king looked around at the group who was now arrayed around the table. "Any questions?" (think something along the lines of this Steampunk Airship, not large, but comfortable enough for around twelve people)[/fieldbox]

Tyler

Tyler looked at everyone questionably as they looked at her in a similar manner. What was the problem here? "Not something to meet a king? Really? Do you want me to go full on frilly gown? This is a logical outfit for fighting in. I have better range of motion without sleeves." She narrowed her eyes a little. Seriously, what was going on? It wasn't like her boobs were hanging out or anything. Her torso was quite contained, and the top covered her entire stomach as well. "Whatever…" She muttered, not willing to bother with it anymore. How old school were these guys that showing some arm was enough to get strange looks?

Magister arrive shortly after everyone was gathered and he wasted no time in taking them back out into the hustle and bustle of the market streets. Getting back to the castle was like some serious journey just by itself. When they were finally in front of the king again, Tyler only gave a nod in greeting as he began to talk, her attention turning to the map her produced.

"An entire gang of ability-users?" She questioned after the king was done. "That are capable of taking out forty knights…" The woman leaned away from the map for a moment, eyeing the area. "Yeah, a few questions. Were your knights powered? And, what's the last approximate number of gang members recorded and what powers have been witnessed so far? And what has been reported stolen so far?"

Adam Kane

When the group finally arrived Adam wiped the sweat from his brow. "Freakin' packed out there. Why don't you guys invent the crosswalk and traffic lights already." They were lead to the throne room where it looked like a Stratagy meeting was taking place. Adam stood there listening to the plan and got excited when he heard about the airship. "Alright no more horses or sore legs." He rubbed his inner thighs not thinking.

Adam perked when Tyler started asking questions he thought quickly wanting to contribute. "Yeah and do we know who their leader might be? Or any abilities seen so far?" Adam shot a thumbs up to Tyler as if saying we got this.

Otto watched and listened in the streets but most were busy going about their day rather than looking at the new comers being escorted by the guards. He was none too happy with how long it took them to get to the castle, though he didn't expect much from a pre-industrial society magic notwithstanding.
After arriving to the castle and being addressed by the king as the both Tyler and Adam he took a step back and away. Tyler was asking the questions with Adam repeating them in so many words while Otto himself merely watched and listened while thinking on the situation. An inland sea suggested large costal ridges and possible cliffs giving advantage to the ambushers especially if any of them had power over Earth or water and if caves dotted the area then it would be hard to track them in the open. This also presented a problem for him and his use of fire based attacks in a heavily humid area. "What is the geography of the area like?" Otto asked from his position.

High King Offrish

The king looked down for a moment at the map, before he turned to his advisors. He nodded to one of them, and he stepped forward from the line they had stood in nearby. "There were a few nobles among the knights, yes, so they had the ability to use magic, however, not all of them had the ability to use magic. Roughly thirty of them were simply supporting fighters, warriors of the sword. The ten that actually could use magic were highly experienced." Johnathan nodded and the man stepped back in line, and then he pointed to his chief military advisor, and like the other advisor he stepped forward. "Last count we had they numbered only twenty, and fewer then half of them could actually use magic. The knights we sent had several recon specialists, so they should have had information prior to engaging in combat." The man then looked at Otto, who had asked the question of geography. "As for geography, you'll be looking at forests and hills once you hit about a mile inland. Otherwise you'll be looking at open grasslands and rocky cliffs. Lots of caves that will make it near impossible to track them. Their abilities, as per our information, center around earth. The last report we recieved said that the bandits were capable of raising earth walls at will. We'd recommend disguising yourself as some kind of band of passing travelers, it will make it far easier to surprise the bandits. Keep in mind the last report also indicated the group was still growing, and with that in mind, we give you full authority to use the local city and surrounding villages garrisons. It should give you more then enough troops to battle whatever bandits have decided to join the fray." The king nodded to the man and he stepped back into the line, and the king then looked around at the group. "Anymore questions?"[/fieldbox]

Tyler

Tyler took a glance at Adam as he repeated a question that she had just asked. As much as she wanted to give him her patented 'the fuck?' look that she normally saved for Daisuke, it was clear that he was at least trying to not be a douchebag at the moment. Considering his mood changes, it couldn't be certain when or if he'd freak out again for no reason, so it was smart to take what she could get while she had it.

However, Otto did have a good question that she hadn't thought about. As the king's advisors spoke, Tyler nodded in thought. Surrounded by earth, fighting against a group of people with earth magic. "Rocks, cliffs, trees… even just flat land would be our enemy. It makes me wonder if it would be better to take any fight out to water or to the sky." Tyler's lips pressed into a line while she considered it. "With a group that large, we need to stick together. Has the group mentioned any demands? Reasons for their behavior? Do they want something from the monarchy or are they trying to prove a point of some sort? Another question though… What makes you think that we are capable of taking these guys down if forty of your trained nobles and knights could not?"

While awaiting a response, she thought about it more. Disguising as travelers was probably a good idea, but in order for the bandits to take the bait, it would need to look like they actually had supplies. And they would have to look weak enough to have their supplies taken from them. As she thought, she started muttering out loud. "Maybe we could get a caravan, pose as a poor family or something. If we could put the rest of our team surrounding the vehicle, when the bandits attack, we could have them surrounded." The woman tapped at the tip of her nose a moment as she mumbled, staring at the map. "Alkura and I would look the weakest, since we're women and Alkura is still a child– assuming this world has similar views as our original society. We'd make great bait for attacking, especially with a caravan of 'supplies'. But we come back to the earth-bending thing which we'll need a way around…"

"The issue with traveling as a group under disguise is if this group of bandits are in anyway lenient. Back in my days before all this...standard procedure was to wipe the caravan out if possible then scavenge supplies that were left. If I was then I would just trap the targeted group in a dome of earth and slowly close it around them until they die but obviously they are known about so someone has escaped them." Otto paused as he stood forward and looked at the map. "We could take the fight to water or air but the problem exists that leaves Cal, Adam, your brother and I on the ground if it's taken to air and I become useless with my fire at least if we go to water but even then the water won't stop them from using the earth at the seafloor but it might delay the effects due to the distance and how long it could take to get to the surface." He spoke as he ran his finger along the map where the sea was indicated. "While I agree we should find a way to sneak in without them knowing I don't think we should make that our point of attack, if we let them dictate when and where the battle takes place then we run a severe disadvantage. Hmm." He paused in thought before he looked back at the king and his advisors. "Is their any knowledge as to how deep the cave system goes? I assume they are using said caves to hide and plan their attacks." He turned to Tyler. "I am thinking that if we can get in without them knowing and ID the best earth users we could separate them out and deal with them first to demoralize and weaken their ability to use the earth around them, after that if we can find out where they are staying on any given night and try and burn them out possibly." Otto finished the rough idea he had before adding. "Obviously that would rely on strong timing and planning so they can't get any barriers up in time to stop the fire." He looked back down at the map in thought.

Adam Kane

Adam stood there listening to Tyler and Otto talking about strategy all while the king and his advisors are doing their best to respond. Adam was standing still waiting for something to say. He heard Tyler's idea and spoke up, "good idea Tyler. sounds good to me." Otto went ahead and poked a hole in her plan and offered another suggestion that required some way to get behind enemy lines without being spotted.

Adam suddenly looked up and smiled. He cleared his throat and walked up in front of the group. "Looks like it's Adam's time to shine. It sounds like we are lacking information, and we need a way to get people in and out without being seen." Adam teleported to the far end of the room, back to the entrance and back to the center of the room. "Ok so hear me out. I want to go in alone and get them to trust me, become part of the group and learn everything." He smiled and continued. "so once I know whose who I can report back to the team and we can plan our attack that way."

Adam looked at everyone, he smiled and then flashed a thumbs up at Tyler as if saying I'm earning my trust today. He realized something and spoke up again. "oh yeah i'll keep my teleporting a secret and use my berserker mode as my ability and that way my teleporting will be my ace in the hole." He was satisfied with his answer and crossed his arms waiting for praise.

Tyler

"Hm." Tyler nodded to Otto's theory about their caravan being taken out before they could have any chance. "Valid point. If we knew their attack pattern, we could make a better plan." She turned briefly to the king's advisors. "Is there any report about HOW they attack? That would really help us make a plan of action." She turned back to Otto. "Taking the fight to water or air puts some of you at a disadvantage. But keeping the fight on the ground puts all of us at a disadvantage and them at a severe advantage over us. Not only will they have the elemental advantage, but they'll also have territorial advantage – we're on their home turf. And they literally control that turf."

Tyler frowned down at the map. "Finding their lair, as some would call it, would not only involve tracking through god-knows how much land, but putting ourselves inside of something they can control. Going underground would be suicide, even Otto said that there is a possibility of making an Earth dome, which is way harder than just collapsing a cave or tunnel on us. We have a couple possible thing we can do. The first: track them and find their hiding spot, then flush them out. Requires a lot of tenuous leg-work that may not bear any fruit. Second: Take the earth elementals to the air and fight them there, the other elementals or non-powered can stay on the ground and we can divide and conquer. Taking to the air is difficult and doing so requires some form of stable way to stay in the air. Third: Set up a ploy to label a few of us as sympathizers and get a group on the inside." She set her gaze sharply on Adam. "No one. Goes. Alone. We're a team, we work as a team, and no one gets left behind or sent in alone. It's too dangerous. This plan is incredibly dangerous and those who go undercover may have to cut off contact. Leaves us in the dark and strands those on the inside. And berserker mode is NOT a reliable ability and I recommend not using it since berserker just attacks everyone. It's not useful. IF we did that and it worked, then we could try to separate the strongest powered and fighters and pick them off one by one."

With a sigh, the woman rubbed at her eyes. "Or… We could wait until they strike again, near their radius of action, and make a move then – attack them head on. That way we can have a formation and plan set up, but we'd be going in without knowing too many details about the fighters. Or maybe even a mix of some of those." She glanced around at the team. "Ideas? Comments?" God, so much talking... So much...

Adam Kane

Adam was happy that Tyler looked his way but was quickly dissapointed when she down his idea. She said it was dangerous and they should stick together. "Ok but.." He tried to interject but she continued. "No but just.." She brought up more points and finally ended with waiting for another attack. Adam was appalled that waiting was an option for her, wouldn't waiting cause casualties?

Adam spoke up. "Wait? We can't wait the longer these douche warblers are free the more people will wind up getting hurt." Adam looked at Tyler then at Otto. "Otto you think someone on the inside would be a good idea right? I can teleport in and out to deliver intell and if I'm in a dangerous situation I can teleport out like that." He snaps his fingers. "That sounds better than waiting for these jerk wads to strike again right?"

He listened and nodded at some of Tyler's points. "Other than splitting the group up if we try and take them to air the other issue I see is where is the incentive? From what we know these raiders are hitting caravans with great success, enough
success that they are attracting new members to their group. Now if their leaders are sane they would see no point in following us into battle in the sky weather that be on an airship or you and Lucien using your power of air. I concede that finding their lair and hitting them there would be incredibly dangerous and time consuming but at the same time so would a group infiltration since we would need to earn their trust enough to get into a striking position." Otto countered after Tyler finished speaking down to Adam after she spoke of waiting for another attack before Adam looked to him for support. "These people will attack again despite our best efforts, even if we could get there tonight others will get hurt and that's an inconvenient truth about all this. Also Adam what I am about to say is gonna make me sound like a dick head because it's the truth, as it stands in the group you are the least combat capable and ready. I say this as someone who has fought in more than one war and killed a lot of people, it has nothing to do with you needing to "Prove yourself" or "Showing us you have what it takes." or any of that bullshit you see in movies or read in books. It's simply a matter of experience that you don't have yet, you'll get that experience as you fight alongside us in the coming times but as of now I ain't gonna endorse you going off on your own to infiltrate this group, you or Daisuke understand?" Otto asked the younger man.

Adam Kane

Adam stood there looking at Otto waiting for him to take his side. He was immediately shot down again. Otto told Adam flat out that he wasn't good enough to take a solo mission. "Battle experience. Otto I've been boxing for years, I placed in regionals 3 years in a row. I got battle experience for days." he was shut down again when Otto mentioned he killed and ran numerous high level missions. Adam looked disappointed then pissed. "you know, i'm not a little kid. i'm practically 18 I can do this. you guys think i'm stupid or whatever but I can fight, I can teleport, I can go berserk and it's not like I'm alone I have Daisuke whose a fucking Yakuza that can slice shit up like a Cuisinart."

He looked at the stern faces of his partners then at Lucien and Cal. "Come on guys tell them I can handle this. I need to do this, I want to do this." He took in a deep breath and went for his final push. "Look think about it as of now we don't have anything other than the guys are skilled in earth magic. If I go in I can find out who does what, and how strong they are. Once I get all that info I can bring it to you guys and we can come up with a plan. I can even go all Assassin and take out the head guy." Adam stood there waiting for them to accept his proposal.

Otto heard what Adam said and it seemed that what Otto had said had gone over his head and that made him a bit mad. "Look here, your boxing experience means shit in a real fight. There ain't gonna be a ref to call cheap shots or stop a fight if you start getting hit to much, no rules about where you can strike or how. You think anyone of those ruthless killers is gonna give a shit about the fact you boxed? No they won't. They break your arms and crush your head with a fifty pound boulder while you whine about how you should be winning in your mind. Also ask Daisuke about all that Yakuzaing he's done and you're gonna find out it ain't what ya think it is." Otto paused as he moved up and into Adam's space. "You know how many dumb fucking eighteen year olds I knew who thought they were hot shit but later I watched die as their brains leaked out from a neat little hole in the side of their heads?" He grabbed Adam's chin and made him look back at him rather then Cal or Lucien. "Don't look at them, they ain't gonna support you. I never said we shouldn't do an infiltration but you sure as hell ain't doing it alone." Otto finished before he backed away from Adam, he turned one last time to look at the teen. "And if you think your boxing experience means shit in a real fight then you and I can step back into that ring Maine and I were in earlier and I'll show you how little it means."

Lucien & Cal

Lucien looked to Otto and Tyler, then at Adam, and shook his head and sighed. "That's enough. No one is going in alone. A lengthy operation would take too much time, and these men have already been loose for a while now it seems. Attacking head on would be foolish. If I was raiding a caravan anyways, I wouldn't position my entire force to pounce on it, i'd keep some in reserve, just in case the caravan tried something smart. Now, if this gang was at twenty and they defeated forty knights, we can expect that a lot more bandits joined their cause. They won't be a match for superior numbers and better equipped troops though. We can try the baiting tactic, and draw a large noose of men around the caravan to move with it. When the enemy pounces, we'll draw the noose closed and hit the bandits on all sides. We'll disguise the caravan to look like a train of goods, but inside we'll place Otto and Adam inside the caravan, Cal and myself will be on the outside commanding the force of troops. We can do recon before we attempt the bust, but the main thing is if we can keep the element of surprise, and assuming that these ability users very recently appeared, we can force them to retreat away from the caravan and possibly route them. From there it will be a matter of following the group back to their hideout." Cal nodded, and pointed to the map, particularly a small valley that was drawn on the main road into the city. "Here, we'll lay a trap here. We can make it look like the caravan is going to be heading out of the city, something that will be lightly guarded, but also be valuable enough to make the bandit gang want to jump it. Keep in mind, even if they have ten magic users with earth at their command, we have half their number of ability users, but we have an edge in experience no doubt, that and we have the serum to heal us. The rest of the gang can be fought through conventional methods." Lucien nodded in turn and looked to the rest of them. "Regardless of battle experience, this fight isn't one that can be fought through just brute force. Engaging them in the air is a stupid idea, they are unlikely to follow us into a fight they might not win. We'll use the local garrison to fight the lackies and the rest of us will engage the main fighters. If we have time we'll perform recon as said, but otherwise time is of the essence. We can send word ahead of our arrival to the troops that are in the garrisons around the city to assemble quickly in the main town, and then we can head the force out to defeat this enemy."

Chief Advisor

The chief advisor stepped forward and cleared his throat. "Pardon, but I believe that I can offer the information you need. The last reports we had, the most they used the magic they had was to simply raise walls around the caravan. If you can manage to get over those walls, beating them back should be easy. We didn't mention this earlier, however, it is worth mentioning that they have some new form of firearm we haven't seen before. They are much like the muskets that are so common in the Western Republic, however, they seem capable of repeating fire. They were only available among those ten though. Perhaps it is a technology they brought with them? As for how they attack, they like to lay ambushes and wait for the caravan to ride into their midst before beginning the attack. They don't slaughter the people in the caravan either, at least it seems not without provocation. As for the cave systems themselves, they run so deep that it is not really possible to perform an effective search."[/fieldbox]

Adam Kane

Adam stood there completely deflated. He thought Otto and Tyler were starting to trust him again but it was clear that they didn't think he could handle it. Otto broke it down for Adam basically telling him that he is worthless, his boxing, his training all of it was for nothing. Otto told him that he saw plenty of young kids die cuz they were to cocks and that he should just accept it.

Otto suddenly got more intense he grabbed him by the chin and brought him in close. Adam closed his eyes expecting to get hit but was just told to wake up and act like a team player. The viking man was intimidating, especially when he offered to take him on in the ring. With Otto this close he felt as if Otto could end him in seconds.

Otto released him as Lucien started talking, Adam took this opportunity to roll his eyes and sulk in the corner. He listened to Lucien's plan then to the advisor. At this point he didn't care, he wanted to prove himself but wasn't getting a chance to. He looked at Otto, the Tyler then finally at Alkura. He was so angry with how his so called companions didn't trust him enough to run a simple mission but let this psycho back in no questions asked.

Adam glared at the girl then decided he'd show her up. He'd make them realize they didn't need her and they should trust him with more responsibility. He started thinking on how he could get these people to give him the shot he desperately wanted.
