So this weekend, I was part of a LARP. It had the interesting characteristic of having all of the characters already planned and what happened next in the story depended on what the players did. I liked it because it avoided the "no one knows each other" aspect I see so common to RPs and allowed the GMs to seed certain individuals with information that others did not have.
At this point, I don't have a concrete idea as to plot / characters, but fantasy / sci-fi is what I like the most, so it'll likely be along those lines.
So a few questions to you:
1) Would people be interested in playing in a game where the characters histories are pre-written / fit to the player?
2) Assuming people are interested in playing, is there anyone interested in GMing?
3) Again assuming people are interested at all in this idea, would you like to see this as a chat RP? A group RP? A normal forum RP? Or ...?
Alternatively, if this sounds completely appalling, I'd also love to know why.
