Domino couldn't tell what difference she was making at the moment, but whatever difference she was making she hoped that it was enough to help the others. Having the power to shrink is not exactly a power that struck fear or awe in others, but Domino was determined to make the most of her power.

She felt the arm almost going out of control as Domino said, "Look on the bright side you might get to use the nick name lefty at some point."

Just then Domino felt a sensation of being shot forward. She said, "It doesn't take rocket scientist to figure out what's happening now." As she felt the arm falling to earth it felt like a million different ideas what through her mind. Try to everything just right and jump just before impact, get out but have no clue where she would land, or try to float away but have no clue where she would end up floating towards.

Domino braced her arms and legs against the side and said, "This is gonna hurt." While on the outside the impact probably didn't look like there wasn't anything drastic, but for the six inch heroine inside the impact felt like it she was riding a bucking bronco during an earth quake. Shaken and sore from the impact Domino tried to pull herself to together as she exhaled a couple of deep breaths. Domino looked around and saw light coming into the arm and said, "I think I can go that way."

With that Domino stumbled out from the arm into a patch of grass. She shook her head and tried to get her bearings as she said, "No more for me thanks I'm driving." She stood still for a moment and looked around, and Domino saw that the battle was over. She let out a sigh and said, "And so the line has been held for one more day."

Domino saw the police, fire and rescue vehicles moving into place which meant soon that the media would be all over the scene. Quickly Domino floated over her cameras and uploaded the videos to her computer.

"I'll go over those when I get home and probably get some great shots to Jules," she said with a smile.

Domino then saw the carnage that had been caused, and the smile quickly faded. As much as she enjoyed the fact that she got shots that no one else had gotten of the battle Domino knew that there was cost for all this, and some of them paid that price with their lives. As she looked at the scene Domino said a brief and silent prayer for the fallen and for the survivors.

Domino floated over to where there appeared to be other heroes gathered, and said, "The name is Domino. What can I do to help?"

Meta/Syndicate

Everything Meta saw and heard came in flashes. He caught a glimpse of his shield colliding with the mech's cockpit; then everything went black again. He then heard the sirens and yelling of the ambulance and firefights. He then saw Phionex thank him for his help he he flew into the is to tale care of some other things. Meta slowly stred to regain his bairings as he slowly sat up, he ears were still ringing and he had a pounding headache, but he was finally be to stand up. He stood up and used his good hand to hold his bleeding forhead, he slowly made his way towards the area of the coffee shop. As he walked by, he saw the bodies of the dead and injured being taken to the hospital or the corners office. Meta noticed the animal woman leaning on an SUV as a rhino, she was bleading from wounds on her body. "We should get you some help." He said solemly as he kneeled born next to her.

Sofia Julian // Wild // Syndicate

Sofia watched as the battle ended with Phoenix grabbing the mech pilot and turning him in to the authorities. If she had the mouth to do it, she would have 'tsked' at that because really, they had gotten the guy, so they should have been able to keep him and milk him for an explanation for his attack. And by milk him, she meant kick the shit out of him until he spilled his brains...Err, the beans.

Sofia glanced up when she was approached by blondie and nodded in agreement. Yes she did need some help. But...She also didn't really want to move. Her leg hurt like a bitch and she had gotten in a position where the mind numbing pain was a little less...mind numbing.

So instead of getting to her feet, Sofia swung her head at blondie and settled back into her earlier position. "Leave me alone!" She snapped, or well...She would have if she could talk, so instead it was more of a roar, but then again not really because despite how fierce and awesome they looked, rhinoceroses didn't sound even remotely awesome.

The battle aftermath

"I think we're done here, go speak to the other recruits for now," Fortuna said to Domino before she moved away, but paused in her step, turning back towards the woman. "I didn't see you arrive with us, but you seemed to handle yourself well enough, come back to the compound with us when we leave." She said, then turned and headed over to where Phoenix was, the hero still talking with the authorities, their conversation getting more tense as it went along. She went over to pull him out of it before it turned into a scene that didn't need to be captured by the media starting to crawl out of the cracks. It was almost time for the Syndicate to depart the scene, let the trained professionals and proper authorities handle the aftermath. Their part was over.

"When we get back to HQ we'll get you patched up immediately. No need to worry, we have some of the best medical technology on the planet." Phoenix said as he came over towards Wild and Meta, Fortuna behind him as he spoke to them then turned and walked away from them, he paused in stride and glanced around once more, searching for Penumbra. The hero came out of the coffee shop, several medical personal going past him into the shop, he approached Phoenix and spoke to the man.

"Think we should head back to HQ, our work is over, wish there was more we could do, but the authorities say they have a handle on it and that we have done enough." Penumbra said as he glanced at Phoneix who simply nodded and then lifted into the air, his cape shimmering as he went airborne, flying back towards the compound. The SUVs were brought over towards the other Syndicate members, Fortuna getting into the one she was in before, she spoke right before entering as Penumbra disappeared once more.

"Back into the vehicles rookies, I don't know what we're going to do about you girl, I guess you can follow us? Try not to scare anyone on the way back." Fortuna said, grinning at Wild who was still in rhino form. With that they were gone.

The Syndicate compound:
Soon enough, everyone had arrived back at the compound, the gates coming open as the two vehicles approached, the gate guards waving them inside. Phoenix stood near the garage, his arms crossed, Penumbra in the garage itself scanning over his motorcycle, one of the mechanics near him doing the same. Fortuna was out of the vehicle once it stopped, she moved over to Phoenix as they awaited the recruits to join them.

"Welcome back to the compound, I don't think we're going to get to finish that tour, I have to go over some things, you all have the rest of the day off, barring another emergency. I recommend getting to know your fellow recruits." She said with a smile, then moved away from the group, entering the hall. Phoenix nodded at the recruits before heading into the garage and finding Penumbra. The recruits had the rest of the day to themselves.

The warehouse

The front doors in the warehouse came open once more, two figures moving towards Jack, neither one were recruits which could be figured out by how Jack's eyes gave them a different gaze when they entered the scene. One of the figures was much larger than the other, he wore a long trench coat which covered his massive, muscular frame. The other was bundled up in heavy winter clothing, a scarf wrapped around his jaw and neck, a black beanie on his head, this one scanned the room as he moved towards the still seated Jack, his eyes focused on Mistress before turning to Jack.

"I'm guessing these are the new grunts, Jack?" The scarf wearing man asked, one eyebrow raised as his companion, the larger man, stayed silent, simply folding his arms over one another as Jack replied.

"Yes, these are some of the new recruits, the ones that have been initiated. It is a fine group, they all have potential," Jack said, pausing as he looked at Mistress who nodded at both men. A slight grin on her face. "We weren't expecting either of you to be here, I thought you would be at the HQ getting things ready for our arrival." Jack added.

"Like what, rolling out a red carpet? It's a damn fine mansion, Jack, Big Z got bored of standing around, we wanted to check out the new blood." The man said, pulling off his scarf, inadvertently revealing his face.

"Consider your curiosity sated," Jack said as he popped out of his chair, his cane in his hand once more as he turned to face the recruits. "May I present Shaman and Z, two of our most senior members." He said, Z nodding at the recruits.

"Z doesn't speak very much, he's one of those talk little, let your actions speak guys." Shaman said as he looked at Z who once more nodded.

"I presume the arrangements have been made?" Jack asked the two men, accompanying the question with a curious head tilt.

"You know it, everything is ready to be set in motion, the cargo arrived yesterday, Z went through it and everything is in order."

"Excellent." Jack said as he moved back towards his chair, taking a seat next to Mistress who approached Shaman, him taking her hand a she laughed, their conversation not clearly heard.
V looked at the two senior members smiling. He put his hands on his hips as he observed them. He nodded as they were introduced, dipping his head to them when they looked at him. He was intrigued by the mention of cargo, and arrangements, words he liked to use in his gang to disguise illegal activities, or the planning of an extravagant party. The former was used many times, while the latter happened only twice. At the opening of his casino, and his last birthday. He liked parties, not as much for the party aspects but more for the alcohol lubricated lips on his fellow citizens. One can learn a lot from a few drunk aristocrats. He also loves presents.

V shifted his weight on his feet, he didn't mind standing around waiting, but this warehouse wasn't the sort of environment he was used to. His discomfort was evident in the few seconds the smile left his face, to be replaced by a bored expression. He decided to focus on the "Z" man, angling himself so he was facing the large male he slowly let his gaze wander from the man's shoes, to the top of his head. He had given everybody a quick once over, but didn't let his eyes linger on them since they were likely to voice their reaction.

Domino stayed close by the hero she introduced herself to. Domino had been invited to go with the others, and though on the outside she did nothing more than say, "Sounds good to me" inside she was jumping up and down for joy. She had heard of other heroes but wasn't sure how to meet up with them, and though Domino knew of others her powers made her feel different. Like at times she had some sort of disease that she wasn't sure if there was ever going to be a cure for. Worse than that no one outside of her college roommate back in Atlanta Nikki knew of her powers, but Domino felt safe in letting her know. After all there were somethings that Allison/Domino knew about Nikki and if they ever became public knowledge Nikki would be out of the science field, and possibly even indicted.

Before they left Domino deleted the memory cards from both cameras, cracked the lenses, and threw the cameras in nearby dumpsters.

She shook her head as she said, "Luckily I have more than one camera at home. Hate losing those two cameras, but oh well the price of leading a double life."

Domino saw the others getting into SUVs and was surprised to see a Rhino in their midst.

It takes all kinds to make up this crew

She floated into the way back of one of them. She felt like a child, and all things considered Domino would've preferred being a small child. Then she would at least be able to sit in one of the seats. At this size the seat belt would probably do more harm than good for her. Besides with all of the floating and so forth this would give her a chance to sit and regain her strength without too many problems. The only downside to all of this was not being able to see where they were going. Domino realized she would have to get a good look around later and find some landmarks to help her out. Then again she had no idea where they were going any way. For she knew they could be taking her to a Government facility to have tests run her.

Sure Allison this is all one big conspiracy to capture Tinker Bell

Domino felt the SUV stop and floated out of it. She looked around and was amazed it what she was seeing. It really was a full blown compound and she couldn't wait to get to see all of it. More importantly Domino couldn't wait to get to know her fellow recruits as they were being called.

She nodded and said, "Oh yeah Domino you are not alone anymore."

The warehouse

"It's time." Jack suddenly stated before he rose out of his chair and glanced at Shaman.

"As you wish," Shaman said with a grin, then spoke to the group as a whole. "Everyone in a nice, tight circle. You don't need to hold hands, well, unless you want to." He said, a mischievous grin coming onto his face as he spoke, the members of the Collective doing as he says, gathering into a circle as Shaman stood in the middle, Z handing him a large hardcover book before getting back into the circle.

Suddenly his eyes ignited into a shimmering blue color as he spoke the words within, the words in a strange language unlike any in the modern world. He placed the book on the floor, his hands waving in the air as they too glowed the exact same shade of blinding blue that his eyes were. Then, the entire room was encompassed in a flash, once the flash ended, the warehouse was empty, the entire group gone in magically infused teleportation.

Collective HQ

The group reappeared inside of a massive mansion, their arrival proceeded by another flash of light. The light actually shaking the surrounding area, nearly knocking an expensive vase off a nearby shelf. Shaman picked his book up off the floor, his features back to normal, any hint of magic now gone from the man's outward appearance. Jack broke away from the group, adjusting his tie as he walked towards a seated older man near the group, his hair slicked back and grey, he was clad in a fine red suit, a glass of scotch in his hand as Jack approached him.

"You're back, and you brought friends. I'm presuming these are the recruits you spoke of." The man said, taking a drink as Jack spoke.

"That is correct, they are a fine group." Jack said.

"Good, they have to be," The man said, rising out of his seat, drink still in hand as he gazed at the group. "You may call me Alexander, this is my humble abode, it also serves as the HQ of the Collective. You have the run of the place excluding my private quarters on the top floor, everything else is open to you. There is a pool, library and an extensive kitchen among other luxuries. You also each have private bedrooms of your own, I'll allow Jack to sort that out." Alexander said, then nodded before he walked away, moving down a long hallway.

"I must ask that you respect this home as well, Mr. Alexander has been very kind to allow us the usage of his extensive mansion, we must return that kindness." Jack said, before he looked at Z and Shaman, his eyes filled with focus and intent.

"I am correct to assume the supplies are in the storage room?" Jack asked, his eyes narrowing on Shaman and Z.

"They are, aren't they, Big Z?" Shaman said, turning his head to look at Z.

"Yes, they are ready for usage." Z said, his voice deep and strong, fitting for a man of his stature.

"Excellent. I'll trust you with giving the recruits a briefing on the upcoming tasks, for now, Mistress and I must speak with Mr. Alexander." Jack said, Mistress moving over towards him before they both left the group, heading down the same hallway Alexander had gone down.

"Come along." Shaman said, waving his hand to exaggerate the statement.

The group was lead to another room to the right near the huge garage. A large room with no windows, one door and another garage type door, currently closed. Four large wooden crates sat in the room, the tops of each of them removed. Z broke away from the group, Shaman right behind as the large man pulled a submachine gun out one of the boxes.

"The UMP 45, 25 round magazines, comes with a vertical grip and two firing modes, fully automatic and semi," Shaman said, a smile on his face as he looked at the group. "I should probably tell you about the missions we'll all be a part of in, hm, tenish hours? Late at night, early in the morning. I'm sure Jack will give you the full details beforehand, but I'll just say we'll be assaulting two different locations with two teams. The fun part is we get to go wild with the equipment we've acquired." He said, moving towards another crate.

"You don't have to use the guns on the mission if you don't want to, but I highly recommend paying attention." Shaman said as he walked.

"You can't only do these types of missions with one weapon, you need a sidearm, and what better than a reliable pistol?" Shaman said, pulling a pistol from out of the crate next to him, the firearm accessorized with a underbarrel laser sight.

"Just make sure to click off the safety before using it, you get seventeen rounds with each magazine, make them count." Shaman said before he nodded at Z who placed down the machine gun in his hands, moving towards another crate, pulling out a dark grey bulletproof vest and sliding it over his large frame.

"Kevlar vest, stops small arms fire in its tracks." Shaman said, then clicked the safety off of the pistol in his hand and fired it at Z, the bullet slamming into the man's vest but not breaching. Z nudging from the impact as he looked down at the bent bullet laying on the ground in front of him. Shaman placing the pistol back into it's respective crate. He moved towards another as Z removed the vest.

"Even if you don't decide to use a gun, you should wear a vest underneath your clothing, it's not my fault if you decide not to, then get shot in the lung and bleed out. A vest stops that from happening."

"Finally, we come to the explosives, the most enjoyable part, also the loudest," He said, then reached into the crate before he turned back around, a hand grenade in one hand, a C4 plastic explosive in the other. "Hand grenades, exactly like those used by the military, we have three varients, they are fragmentation, flash and incendiary. You have three seconds with each one to get rid of them before they explode. I highly recommend being careful with all of these, not only will you kill yourself if you screw up, you'll kill your allies too. You don't want to do that."

"The C4 is simple, attach it to something, back away, and press the detonator. Easy." Shaman said, then placed the explosives back and folded his arms, looking at the group.

"We will begin the mission in the middle of the night, I recommend getting to know each other before we head out," Shaman said, looking at Z then the recruits. "Jack seems to have faith in all of you, I hope I can have faith in you too after tonight." Shaman said.
Sofia Julian // Wild // Syndicate

Sofia lumbered along behind one of the SUVs, stopping every once in awhile to shift weight from her back leg to her front or to settle the pain as much as she could. A few bystanders-the ones who weren't heavily injured--gaped and pointed at her and she made a game of mean mugging them in rhino form and seeing how long it took them to look away. The hilarity of the situation, helped her keep the pain at bay until they reached the compound where she was retrieved by the compounds' medics and brought to one of the infirmaries. At the request of one of the nurses, Sofia reverted back to human and form and promptly blacked out.

When she awoke, her leg was sore and achy, and even though she whined about it and hounded the doctor, he refused to inject her with morphine because she was quote unquote 'too young'. One of the nurses informed her that she could leave the infirmary whenever she was ready, but she had to refrain from running around and turning into rodents or smaller animals.

Hobbling out of the infirmary, Sofia then went in search of blondie. She wasn't really one for making friends but she figured the guy was worth speaking to. Plus, and this would only work if he wasn't a wimp, his metal bending powers would come in handy for some kick ass pranks.

Meta/Syndicate

The rhino woman simply roared...or grunted at his offer. Meta simpler stood back and have her a empathetic look, "I unfortunately do not sleek rhino, I'll leave you alone." He said solemnly. Meta turned to Phoenix when he saw them walk over to them, he said something about the planet. Meta could not really here what anyone was saying due to his concussion, but he assumed it was time for him to leave when he saw everyone walk to the SUV's. Meta stumbled over the the car and hobbled inside, after closing the door Meta closed his eyes and sighed. When he joined the Syndicate, he did not think that so much death would be involved with being a superhero.

Before Meta knew it they were at the compound, and he was being dragged out of the car and was taken to the infirmary by the medics. Meta woke up in a a white room with his arm acheing and his head pounding lightly. Meta was told by the doctors that he was allowed to walk around, by not to aggravate his arm. He chose to stay in bed and relax, finally getting what he wanted. But mMeta could not help but wonder about what happens to the hostages, he would have to ask Wild. Meta got up out of his bed and searched for her. Meta did not have to look far, he could see her hobbling along, down the hall way. Meta walked over to her an looked her in the eye, before she could say anything he asked her what was on his mind at that moment. " Do you have any idea what happened to the hostages."

Sofia Julian // Wild // Syndicate

Sofia was thrilled to find that blondie had found her first but she was less thrilled when he inquired about the hostages. Oh, so he's that type. She thought to herself sourly. She hated the 'mother hen, protect the weak' types, they were sappy and boring and unfortunately the Syndicate was filled to the brim with them. But still...Even if she already didn't like seventy percent of him, she might like the other thirty. And hey, there was always room for improvement and if he was a new recruit, Sofia would have time to mold him into proper friend material.

"If they didn't get blown to bits or turned into a bullet hole pinata, then they're probably in the hospital." She stated, then in an effort to quickly change the subject she gave the guy a sucker punch. "So, what's up with you dude? You can control metal and all that jazz, huh? Cool. Oh and what's your name, cause I've been calling you blondie and tin man, but if we're going to be buds, I might as well learn your actual name, right?" She laughed. "I'm Sofia aka Wild, you probably already know why."

V was amazed by the teleportation, he knew there were other supers out there, but was still not used to the idea of other super-humans. He nodded appreciatively as he looked about the mansion, much better than his apartment, a waste of money in his mind.
V's eyebrows arched when he saw the array of weaponry. He was certain some of it was not acquired legally, mostly certain about the explosives, not certain about the guns. "What's the chances of one of those auto-mat-ics, misfiring?"
He walked over to the crate of vests and lifted one out, he grunted in surprise at how much it weighed. "This a lot heavier than a regular shirt." He held it up to his chest and looked down at it, tongue stuck out of the corner of his mouth as he thought. He slid it on, letting it rest over his clothes for the time being. "We don't need to arm ourselves right now do we?" He knew that if he had to carry all this equipment he wouldn't be able to move by the time they left.

"I wouldn't be too sure, you never know what can happen, and we have no information on their operatives. If they do come for us, I suggest you use that enhanced running to get the hell outta dodge. Only reason they'd target you is cause your in The Butchers employ, so if they should have any need to kill you after they finish off the rest of the people here." Damien sighed, running a hand through his hair. He wasn't suited up yet, as they were currently just waiting for the Collective, whether they were coming to kill them or not. "This was supposed to be an easy job, come in, do what ever illegal thing I gotta do, then quit with the full-time mercenary work, maybe join up with that new group syndicate that everyone's been going on about. And now, because my employers are idiots, I might get offed by some sort of secret society of superpowered nut cases. Man, how could something that pays so well suck so bad."

Deciding that he's done enough mopping, Damien picked himself up, motioning for Damien to follow him as he walked around the area. He looked at all the cargo containers, wondering how many of them held a came of illegal drugs or guns. Not that it mattered to him, he had been at this for awhile, and had stayed alive by learning to not ask any questions and keep his wondering to himself. He ignored the thugs that littered the place, all of them nervously talking to amongst themselves, some casting glances at him and Mason, before going back to their gossip. He hoped they weren't expecting him to save them, cause if push came to shove, he would most definitely leave them high and dry.

'Man, if their going to come and kill us, I'd wish they'd hurry it up. I'm going to die of boardroom if nothing happens soon.'

'Then you should have some fun with these powerless humans to pass they time, maybe do the Collectives work for them. It would pass the time.'

Damien grunted as Insomnium decided to speak up all the sudden. That was the last thing he needed right now.

'Shut up and go back into your hole, I'm on edge enough as it is without having you telling me to pick fight with everything that has a pulse within a mile radius'

'Fine, but only because nothing interesting is happening at the moment. But the minute things get good, you better let me out, or else I'll force my way out and that won't feel good for either of us.' Damien just gave a grunt in response, not committing one way or the other.

Collective HQ

"Only chance is if someone who doesn't know how to handle it uses one, if you are one of those people, I'd recommend just using a pistol," Shaman said, crossing his arms and glaring at V. "Much less of a learning curve with that." He added, watching the recruit weasel into the vest.

"There's more than enough vests to go around, you don't have to put them on until right before we depart from the HQ, no one's going to shoot you here." He said, then glanced at Z before looking back at V.

"You might want to hit the gym in the mansion in your free moments, get some muscle on your frame, it'd suit it better." Shaman said before he paused and looked around the room one more time.

"Any other questions? Any at all?" He asked.

The Docks

"Syndicate doesn't pay its people, man. Besides, their work isn't any fun, when it's quiet in the city they just float around and rescue cats from trees for old ladies." Mason said, scratching his chin as he followed Damien, one of the grunts that moved past them glaring at both of the superhumans.

"I don't think the Collective would kill us, a group full of our kind wouldn't kill their own people like that." He added.

"Tell that to the Syndicate, the Collective kills their superhumans whenever they get the chance." Another man said, approaching both Mason and Damien, this man younger than both, he seemed like he just finished college. His name was Del and he could create clones of himself, it was a useful power in the right situations. His head was shaved and his clothing similar to Mason's.

"We ain't Syndicate though, Del." Mason said, the two knew each other from a previous encounter before the current job.

"Yeah, still, they've killed supers before," Del muttered, then rubbed his neck before he spoke again. "We just gotta keep our guard up, watch each other's backs." Then he leaned in closer to both of his fellow superhumans, practically whispering to them.

"If they do come here, then we're in it together, these gang member fools should be used to crap like this. They won't help us, just themselves if it ends up having to be that way." Del said softly, looking Damien then Mason in the eyes after he spoke.
V shook his head, he mumbled, "I guess that means you don't know." He kept the vest on though and walked back to the group, "I think I'll keep this on, I don't know any of you guys yet." He didn't need it though, with his luck the gun of any attacker would malfunction, well the first time. He smiled back at Shaman, "I'm good as I am, I have no need to waste my time trying to look like some poster model." He continued speaking, "I have another question, why are you so angry looking? I do something to upset you?"

He didn't like the way this group of people kept glaring at him, first that masked man in the room, and now Shaman. He actually felt the need to wear this vest in present company. He couldn't think of any reason for them to glare, sure he was young, and rich, but that didn't deserve the hostile looks from these older men.

Damien laughed at Mason's remark, as he did feel sort of the same way. But he still wanted to do something more fulfilling then mercenary work. It paid the bills, and sent him to plenty of new places, let him meet plenty of interesting people, but out just wasn't enough for him. Besides, he also got caught up in shady deals like this one.

When Del came in with his words of wisdom, and conspiratorial plan against the thugs assembled, Damien nodded in agreement.

"My idea of 'run the fuck away' still stands. We're mercenaries, not heroes or warriors, so we don't have to worry about things like pride and honor. I'll help cover you guys, as I'm the one with the most offensive power, and Del, you can make some decoys for them to deal with. The last thing we should do is kill or seriously harm any of the Collective, as that would definitely put us on their hit list."

'Why do you have to be such a pussy, just let me take over and we'd blow them all away'

'No, it's that kind of over-confident thinking that got me locked up and stuck with you, so just stay put. If you do, I'll let you out the next time we get into a fight, Okay?'

'. . . . You promise?'

'I promise'

Joy-filled laughter and cheers filled his mind, leading Damien to wonder how such a dangerous individual like Insomnium could seem so innocent and child-like at times. Then again, even Insomnium's love for fighting could be seen as childish, if he wasn't so dangerous and out of control when he partook in it.

Meta/Syndicate

Meta was a bit startled when he heard the woman's response. "She was a hero right?" "What it not the job to care the those who could not do it themselves?" Meta thought to himself. Meta simply shrugged it off and chose to ask Phoenix next time he saw the man. Meta just did not want all his efforts to help the people to go to waste, he did get injured for them. Meta focused on the woman once again when she playfully punched his arm (the good one) and introduced herself, also asking him to introduce himself. "Oh, My name is Alexander a.k.a Meta." He said with a small yawn. "Ehh, but the ability the control metal is not that cool, but being able to tuen into any animal, now that's cool." He said the a grin on his face.

Sofia Julian // Wild // Syndicate

"Yeah, it is pretty cool." Sofia agreed, preening inwardly. Hey, no one ever said she was modest or humble. If she received a compliment she was going to take it. Besides it was true.

"So Alex," Sofia stated casually chopping off the rest of the man's name and bestowing a nickname upon him. Honestly, Alexander was a bit of a mouthful and she wasn't going to waste her time saying it. "Why'd you choose the Syndicate? Are you a stickler for rules or something?"She laughed. Although with his irritating concern for the hostages, he probably was a lame ass rule follower. Ugh.

"I mean, there's metal literally everywhere. You could really become something big. But instead you chose the Justice League," She scoffed. "So what's the deal?"

Domino began floating around and looking at the compound. She had no clue how this was all paid for, what anyone's back stories were, how they came to choose this place, if they were allowed to come and go, and whether any of them had regular jobs like she did. There were so many questions that she had, but one thing that she took some comfort was that she was no longer alone. Domino for the first time ever didn't feel like some kind of freak or oddity, but that though she had a costume and powers underneath the mask she was still Allison McPherson world class photojournalist and world class smart-ass. Now Allison felt like she was ready to embrace fully her powers and not be so afraid of them. That she was now ready to be Domino all the way.

Domino knew that while she had taken out a few small time muggers and even stopped a couple of attempted robberies she still had a way to go in terms of knowing how to be a super hero. These kinds of lessons one didn't exactly find through Google, and the encounter with the Mech today proved that. It was time to get some training under her belt, because she believed that there was another group out there that wasn't so "nice". It was the ying-yang of life for her.

Domino floated over to a nearby building that looked as though it might be a training center, but she wasn't sure.

Domino looked around and said, "Ah can anyone tell what this building is? Or any of the others for that matter?"

Yuu Xiè
Little Italy, Manhattan, NYC
13:32, February 6th

Under the sound of a deep sigh, Yuu Xiè readjusted the Chinese broadswords on her back with her free hand. The other was holding a forgotten cup of coffee which was rapidly growing cold. She walked down the streets of Little Italy, not too far away from her house or the coffee shop where she and her friend had just bought their coffees. The two were walking side by side with their coffee and their training equipment from the wushu practice that had ended twenty minutes ago.

"Hey, Yuu....Yuu-uuuuu. I didn't buy you that cup for nothing, okay? For goodness' sake, wipe that tired, grim expression off your face. At least take a sip would you? And what's with the deep sigh, you know you can always tell me if there's something bothering you." Claudia tilted her head a little as she wove her free hand in front of Yuu's face. True to her distant Italian roots, Claudia's hair was black and long, her eyes brown, her complexion slightly tanned and her nose was somewhat crooked. Different from most trendy Italian 20-year-olds, she was currently dressed in a pair of sweatpants, a faintly green shirt covered by a white track jacket and a scarf. Yuu was dressed in a similar fashion, though her clothes were obviously older and more frequently worn when compared to Claudia's. A glare was all Claudia got in response to her attempt to cheer Yuu up.

"Fine, have it your way Yuutardo." Claudia pulled her pouty face and the two walked in silence for a few minutes. Since Claudia had never been one to be silent for more than a few moments, it didn't come as a surprise that she was the one to break it.

"I can't believe that a man of all things can bring you down so easily. The great, strong yet beautiful, independent Yuuxiu who is praised by shifu Guoliang for her determination but scolded for her lack of concentration. That Yuu is distressed over Muochi? I mean... dear me... even his name is boring." At that, Yuu's face lit up slightly and her characteristic smirk played around her lips. She snorted softly before pointing her finger up at Claudia's face.

"Firstly, you of all people should know that a breakup isn't easy. Secondly, for the record, I dumped him and not the other way around. Thirdly, I was upset over shifu Guo scolding me, not over that idiot Muozhi. Fourthly, cut out the stupid nicknames. And fifthly, Muozhi's name is the only virtuous thing he has, so at least leave him that piece of dignity." For a moment, Claudia's face showed surprise and utter astonishment due to her friend's sudden change of behavior, but it soon changed to a broad smile accompanied by loud laughter. After she finished her burst of laughter, a cheeky grin appeared.

"So does that mean you're in for the double-speed-date tonight?" Now it was Yuu's time to grin.

"Forget it, my poor heart just got broken into pieces, remember? Besides, I've got better things to do tonight. Such as working, you know, that thing we poor Chinatown dwellers have to do for a living unlike you maffiosi." The grin still plastered on her face, Yuu wove her friend goodbye as she escaped into the crowd going west.

"Nobody will ever like you if you behave like that, Yuu!" Claudia yelled after her.

"Who ever said I wanted people to like me?" Yuu shouted back at the top of her longs. A few people around her looked rather disturbed but Yuu didn't pay any attention to them. To her, that was one of the best parts of living in a city as big as New York. You could do something extraordinary and people would only remember you for an hour at most. That is, unless all of it happened to be caught on video of course. Once Claudia was out of sight, Yuu's face turned back to the grimness that suited her appearance. Her short black hair was still wet from the shower and since her shirt and jacket weren't as thick as they had once been, she felt colder than she would have liked to admit. Especially her toes. For what purpose had she left her scarf and thick socks back home again?

As she wandered the streets, still undecided on where to go next, the city slowly started to changed shape. Where the streets had first been littered with small Italian coffee shops, restaurants and barbers, the buildings now seemed taller, whiter, less branded with a cultural mark and more of a mix. Yuu recognized some Chinese markets, but as she went on, they became scarcer until only English signs remained.

Simon's store... It's been a while since I went there. As she checked her backpack, Yuu found a twenty-dollar bill which still hadn't found itself a purpose. Seeing how this was still from last month's wage, she could afford to spend it on a few of Simon's books. A smirk reappeared on her face as she changed her direction and headed towards his shop. It was always fun to try to haggle with him.

Collective HQ

"If anyone tried to shoot you in the back they would've done it already," Shaman said, "And nope, I just always give the new ones a hard time, if they can't handle me acting like an asshole, then they won't last a week."

The Docks

"We'll figure it out if the Collective shows up, they might not even and the gangsters are just saying stuff to get us rattled." Del said.

"You may be right, but what if they're not? It doesn't hurt to have a plan, man." Mason replied.

"Yeah, but I don't know. We'll see what happens, or doesn't."

The trio of powered mercenaries moved through the docks, Mason leading the way as they walked into a large building, crates littered around the sides, in the middle was a wooden table, chairs around it, gang members around it, some seated, others standing. Cigarette smoke rose to the ceiling as the men chatted, the ones seated gambling, playing blackjack as the dealer one, causing the gambler to groan as he handed over a twenty dollar bill.

"You any good at gambling, Damien? Those guys look like chumps." Mason said as Del moved over towards the gamblers. The group of mafia members not giving the mercenaries odd looks, they didn't seem to care in their current situation, all the booze, joking and gambling must've loosened the tension a bit.

Syndicate HQ

"That would be the Training Center, miss. To your right is the firing range, right near that is the main building. Behind you is the garage and the track, right near the living and recreation centers." A male voice said to Domino, the voice coming from a tall, dark haired young man dressed in full camouflage clothing, he looked like a soldier but was not, he was a superhuman like many others in the compound.

"Didn't they give you a tour? Fortuna usually does that. Wonder what she's up to," The man said, as he looked at Domino, a friendly expression on his face. "Anyways, my name is Protea, but you can call me Wayne. Who might you be?"
