A Model Relationship

"See you later." She said with a smile as Jared left.

After finishing her lunch, Kristin returned to her room for a long nap. It would be awhile before they actually had to get going. They may have docked but they didn't have to get off the ship. Besides, she didn't feel the need to go shopping before the show and she certainly had no interest in doing it all on her own. She laid down on her bed as soon as she arrived and was quickly knocked out from her own weak body. The nap did her plenty of good though, the moment she woke up she felt refreshed and completely sparked. She'd rock the runway that night. Of course, before she did that, she would have to get there.

She was not on the same bus as Jared when it was time to go, wearing her simple clothing since she'd be changing constantly during the show. She did bring her purse though, just in case she was still awake and felt like walking around afterwards. When she arrived at the show she was quickly pulled in back to start working on her hair and make up for the first outfit she would wear that evening. On top of that they had to get her into proper underthings to make sure everything stayed in place. It seemed like hours before they were finally done with her and at that point the show was already happening.

Girl after Girl walked down the runway, wearing crisp suits or flowing dresses. Some in skirts and some in jeans. High heels and boots, nothing was forgotten. When it was her turn, she was wearing a long silken gown with strapy heels, her hair pulled into a tight and smooth bun. She was given her signal and she quickly started to strut onto the walk, her movements smooth and elegant as she took one step after another through the flashing lights and darkness of the open room.

Kristen was a pro.

Looking like a refined and elegant high class lady that none of his previous exes ever were. He applauded as she posed and walked back down the cat walk. The fashion continued, girl after girl with so many clothing switches that Jared couldn't even keep track how many outfits were presented. He sighed feeling a bit tired but the lights kept him awake. As soon as the last model turned the corner and the lineup began, Jared was eager for the show to be over. The designer appeared and bowed thanking the crowd and turning the corner as well. There were about seven designers, quite a lot for one fashion show.

Waiting for Kristen backstage, he heard the familiar giggles close by.

"Well if it isn't Jared." Her spanish accent rolling down her tongue as she winked.

"Oh hey... Isabella." Jared said a bit annoyed.

"Oh so you haven't forgotten me, hm, so who are you with now?" She eyed suspiciously.

Jared knew Isabella stopped at nothing she wanted, and previous years ago after their break up, she had spent a month trying to get close to him until he finally slapped her and she shut up.

"My girlfriend -" Kristen had appeared just in time, "this is Kristen", who was dressed in a flowy flowery dress that reached her knees with comfortable looking shoes.

"Oh really? Just like the rest," Isabella smirked.

"You're wrong," Jared said narrowing his eyes at her before kissing Kristen just to prove it.

Isabella's mouth formed an 'o' until she stomped off with a flip of her curly brown locks. Holding Kristen's hand and walking out he murmured, "sorry, for that..."

It didn't take nearly as long for Kristin to get undress as it did for her to get dressed. She was soon out of her makeup and in a much more relaxed number in only a few minutes, or so it felt at least. She honestly was a bad judge on time to be honest so it was possible that it had been longer than that. Moving through the crowds quickly, Kristin was able to easily spot Jared in a crowd. He seemed to be speaking to a rather pretty woman, obviously of Spanish decent with that tan skin of her's. Arriving into the conversation late, she blinked a bit as she was suddenly introduced, not even being given a moment to say hello before the woman made a rude comment of sorts.

Then, He kissed her! So randomly as well. Slightly confused, she was tugged away from the crowds as the other woman stomped off into them. She wasn't really sure what had happened but she had a feeling that she had a run in with one of Jared's ex's that had happened between their relationships. Looking to him as he apologized, she shook her head a bit before speaking softly.

"I'll take a wild guess...An ex whom you ended on bad terms with was bugging out and so you just reacted to get her away. It's something I figured you do. You're a really pushy man, Jared." She added with a small smile.

"You know me too well..." He said with a weak smile and a sigh.

Thinking back at everything with him and Isabella he remembered her last words. You're a player down to the last line. You get bored and tired of the same old same old, just you wait.... Jared really wished he had the ability to ring her neck. With his head drooping and his brown hair flopping. He wished their was a guide to a proper relationship. With someone like Kristen, he was struggling. It was so hard. So hard to please her. So hard to make her happy. Was letting go even an option? He didn't know what to do. In a way, other people saw him as a needy child and in truth it was a little bit like that. He loved attention, but feeded off of other people's emotions to know how to direct them into use. Like a parasite. But whenever he was with Kristen, she was so mellow and calm. He couldn't tell if she felt happy, angry, annoyed. It was so hard.

"Honestly Kristen ... I don't know if our relationship is that strong of a connection. I'm really trying, but I don't know if me being with you makes you happy at all..." He said sadly, her hand was still on his as he let his fingers go.

He wanted to say it but he held his words back thinking, sorry, sorry for being impatient but I need to know your feelings.

Kristin looked over at Jared as he spoke, his words making her blink a bit. Was she not communicating well? She enjoyed being with Jared, that much was enough. They had only just started going out once again after all. She could see the insecurity in his eyes though. Maybe she wasn't expressing it the right way. He was so used to pushy clingy women that someone like him threw him for a loop. Smiling a little, she pulled her hand gently from his only to move in and place her hands on his cheeks.

She planted a light kiss upon his lips, the two now standing in the entrance hall of where the fashion show had been. Plenty of people were moving around them as if they were just another thing in their way. No one stared and no one pointed in their direction. It was like hiding in plain sight. Pulling back slowly, she crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a playful grin before she started to walk off.

"Does that answer your question?" She said simply as she headed towards the exit with everyone else.

Jared was caught off guard. It wasn't something Kristin would usually do. But actually, he didn't mind. It was sort of refreshing. His eyes were wide open as her lips parted from his as he couldn't seem to say one word. Following her through the crowd he found her hand again and in the faint lights of the shops, pink was tinted on his cheeks. He was really happy. Just no words could describe it. One could perceive that indeed, Jared could be quite adorable and cute. Indeed, he needed to stop thinking about the past and move on.

"I think you're just .... amazing ..." He said honestly. The warmth of their hands entwined were locked tightly.

"Of course I am." Kristin said with a small grin as Jared caught up to her and grabbed onto her hand. "You picked me."

She giggled a bit after that as they continued to walk through the streets. Hand in hand, they observed the night life of the city, happily strolling along and looking at all the bars and restaurants that here now jumping as evening came into full swing. Kristin really wasn't going anywhere specific as she walked, she was fine with just exploring with Jared that night. After all, it meant the start of her vacation now.

"You're right. And what's even better, you're only mine." He said with a wink.

Walking down any street was pleasant just spending time with Kristen was nice. He felt a lot more joyous since her reassurance. Indeed he was the type of man that needed to know the clear feelings of others. As the night grew late, it was almost 11, fireworks were launched into the sky from a far off island. There must have been a special occasion but Jared didn't care, enjoying the bright colors and glittering showers. Everything was perfect in that moment. And he thought that just an extra something would make it even better. And so his lips were back onto Kristin's, a sweet passionate kiss that went on and on. His hand was on her cheek as he continued to kiss her. Letting their lips part, Jared just returned to hugging her from behind while staring at the remaining fireworks bang in the sky with great happiness.

Kristin hadn't expected to see fireworks that evening but they were quite the treat. Standing with Jared, she was happy to watch the show, even if it wasn't for a specific reason of any kind. Sometimes things didn't need reason, they just needed fun. The kiss though caught her by a bit of surprise, though she happily returned it as she leaned into her boyfriend as more fireworks burst in the air above them. Giggling a bit as he finally pulled back, she was happy to lean back into him as he moved behind her and wrapped his arms around her gently.

"You know...if we were like this back then, we might have never broken up." She said lightly as she looked up at him.

"That's for sure... but hey back then, we were immature." He whispered softly.

By the time the fireworks ended it was already 12 and the two boarded the ship. Kissing her softly good night, Jared retreated back to his cabin. For the rest of the night, he couldn't sleep, rethinking the events that happened tonight. Hopefully the next day after that would just be as great. When it was about 2 in the morning, the man finally found himself accepting the drowsiness that was coming on to him. He covered himself with his bed sheets and smiled. At rest and in peace.

The evening ended on a great note, the fireworks ending and the two of them going back to the ship together. After sharing a sweet kiss goodnight, the two parted to their separate rooms. Kristin couldn't sleep, not until late at least. She was so jittery from the kisses and the moment they shared that it was hard to even calm down, let alone think of sleeping. Eventually though, she nodded off and sleep deeply that night, not waking until late the next day. She had no work to do and she found herself just laying in bed for awhile and enjoyed the peace.

The sunshine rays had awoken him as he thought of plans for today. There weren't too many honestly. He had broad ideas of going on tour but it didn't seem exactly the most interesting. There was always the beach but they had been there and done that. He thought for a few minutes and thought about having a small picnic outing somewhere in the grassy plain lands of Spain. That would be enough time to chat and enjoy the fresh air. But realizing that the day may rain, a switch of plans would have to be made again. Deciding to asking Kristin herself, he got himself dressed, knocking on her door. She opened with a tired but happy good morning. Discussing with her for a few seconds he asked,

"Anywhere you would like to go? Honestly I have no idea..." He said with a quirky smile.

Kristin hadn't expected to get a visit from Jared that morning, but she was happy to see him. Chatting lightly on what they could do for the day, she wasn't sure what they would enjoy together. If the weather turned back a lot of the out door activities would be ruined. Also, she had been wandering the town with him last night and she really didn't feel like shopping.

"What about a museum?" She asked him as she looked up at him. "We could look at some art for the day, or maybe check out a historical sight if there are any in the area." She offered.

"Sure, that would be fun." He said willingly to go anywhere with Kristin.

At the museum, there were actually not too many tourists. The artifacts and ancient Spanish decorations were all over with dates and description. It was fascinating to look at all the Spanish art and items. Looking at the brochure he learned even more. Indeed this was a bit of the geeky side of Jared. He liked learning information but usually he forgot it in a few minutes. Considering the fact that he barely remembered his schedule, he wasn't exactly organized when it came to memorizing random facts.

"Hm, well this is actually pretty cool" He said softly with a smile.

After getting dressed, Kristin and Jared headed to the local museum. It was very interesting, full of all types of artifacts and knowledge. Kristin had gotten rather interested in the old pottery that had been put on display. She had wandered away from Jared in her looking about, not on purpose though. She would have personally liked to stay close but when things caught her eye they really caught her eye. Standing in front of a tall vase, she was smiling as she read the information card under it.

"Lovely."

Just as Jared was looking at the paintings and priceless artifacts, he heard the sound of a little kid's crying. Turning around he saw a little girl sitting on one of the benches in the museum as tears fell down her face. Wondering what was wrong, Jared approached the girl with Kristin by his side.

Softly he asked, "Are you ok?" hoping she didn't speak Spanish.

The girl shook her head and said in hiccups, "I-I can't find m-m-my mommy." Wiping her tears away from her face.

"Do you know where you last saw mommy?" Jared said gently.

"We w-w-ere i-in the a-art gallery." The little girl said softly.

"Well then let's go find her." Jared said with an encouraging smile.

The girl nodded as she followed both Jared and Kristin to the gallery which was filled with a dozen of people. Asking for clothing description from the little girl, she told them that her mommy was wearing a red shirt and black pants. Jared attempted to scan the crowd but there was just too many people in his way.

Kristin had been surprised to see the little girl crying there, and even more surprised to see Jared approach her and offer some comfort and help. Smiling a bit, she walked with the little girl hand in hand as they went in search for her mother. The woman was said be wearing a red shirt and black pants, some rather bland describing but enough to hopefully find her. Certainly the mother would be in some type of panic if she realized that her child was gone. Or she was completely unaware her little girl had run off in the first place.

"Do you see her?" Kristin asked Jared as she picked the girl up to allow her to cuddle close and to also see into the crowd better than she did at her normal height. "We could also ask a museum guard for help."

Agreeing with her idea, he found one of the guards and tried his best in Spanish to explain what was going on. Within a few minutes a frantic mother appeared who wrapped her arms around the little girl, thanking the both of them. She held the girl in her arms closely and turned around leaving into the groups of people, the little girl waved goodbye. Jared smiled, it was nice to help someone out. When it came to children, he always had a soft spot for them. With all this trouble of finding a missing girl's mother, it was already lunch time. Walking out of the museum, the two had found a simple yet elegant restaurant to dine in. Jared sighed as he glanced outside of the glass window. The sky was bright blue and everything seemed so peaceful. It was a really nice day.

Turning his attention back to Kristin, he thought up a few random questions consisting of...

1) Family, did she brothers or sisters?

2) Future goals in life besides profession.

3) One thing she wanted to do before she died.

4) What she loves to do besides modeling

Kristin was glad to eave goodbye to the little girl as she was carried off by her frantic mother. It meant that they had done the right thing and reunited a probably worried family with a loved one. Though the little adventure certainly though them for a loop, it was already lunch time! After leaving the museum, they two of them found a nice and quite little restaurant to eat lunch. Once they were seated, Kristin looked to Jared and noticed the thoughtful look upon his face and spoke softly as the two of them were given a nice bottle of wine to enjoy with each other.

"A penny for your thoughts?" She asked him softly as she reached over to her glass of wine and took a small sip.

"Ladies first." He said curiously waiting for some answers.

He drank the wine slowly, sip after sip. The sweet yet bitter taste colored all over his tongue. It was a swirl of taste. He in truthfulness preferred things like vodka and beer, but wine wasn't bad. It just wasn't too fulfilling in the intoxication part. Indeed that may make him stupid but he enjoyed letting go. Loosening his senses and letting his mind free. Was he an alcoholic? No. Just a man who enjoyed drinking while he could. As the food arrived, he slowly ate and chewed, waiting like a child for an answer. He wanted to know all about Kristin and he wasn't budging until he did. As some could claim him to be, he was in fact stubborn and hard headed. When he wanted something, he would get it. Everything was possible, in his mind at least...
