A Lark Is Not Always A Bird...

Tastes Like Chicken...

Chatter did indeed fill the air again. Out of his eye-corner, Kimba caught flashes from his brother's camera, first here, then there as he worked the crowd. He tried hard to ignore these bursts of light... not too difficult, given how well his mouth watered at the scents coming from Deen's grill. And yes, it seemed Avira liked watching his backside, until she made her own move forwards, in an attempt to stay by his side. Difficult. Even more difficult on fours, when she moved with plate on head, loaded up, then moved off...

... yes, she'd been behind, but still somehow managed to get her food first.

Because... well, Kimba hadn't seen Avannzi in years. Yes, the elder female who had given Blessing. So he'd been delayed, nodding his "hello", her giving same in return, still graceful for all her years. The years he himself had missed, kind.

However!

Unlike Avira, Kimba walked on twos, loaded plate in hands. Yes, her eyes connected with his... and his fur again ruffled, shroudruff opening in reflex. He'd seen what her eyes "spoke". And it sent a tingle down his spine. Yes again, hard to think it had been such a short time ago, he'd been ignorant of her existence. Now?

Yes, they'd come very far...

... "Nice choice..."

He settled beside her, on haunches, back against the tree as he sighed his pleasure and took in the flowers, the blossoming tree... the lights, how they lit the spot in twilight. Lit her. Not sitting on what could be called ceremony, Kimba dug in to his.......

....... It tasted like chicken. Probably because it was chicken. Barbecued chicken slathered in "Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Sensuous Slathering Sauce". Heh... he'd seen the label on the bottle. He could also smell the garlic and black pepper corn-on-the-cob under the tinfoil.

Now resting nearby Kimba, she, also in turn, satisfied her hunger, at least to an extent that would keep her satisfied for many hours to come, or until the next time she ate which hopefully wouldn't be very soon. She wasn't very particular on taste, but she did have a fondness for tangy things, not something super sweet or excessively spicy, but just a moderate blend of the two.

She paused and stared up at the sky, oddly thinking about home at the moment, and a feeling of yearning to return there welling up inside her at she gazed at the little orbs of light that glittered in the sky, casting a hazy glow upon the soil and stone they trod upon on a daily basis. She quite liked her home-town, the place she grew up held man fond memories for her, but it was times like this that she wished she could share it with someone else.

"Do you ever get homesick Kimba?"

This question seemed a bit out of place and random, but Avira felt an odd desire to ask him. Avira left home and wandered the world quite often, and was rarely at her place of birth with her family, so sometimes she did get homesick, but often didn't find the right time or reason to go back just yet. She always found some reason, rather, to stay away instead no matter how homesick she would get...

She lay there in the grass, still staring up at the sky idly into it's inky depths littered with stars, her tail lain in the grass, it's bright orange tuft remaining motionless for once, her ears each in a different direction on either side of her head, swiveling occasionally with the movement of the sounds around her.

It wasn't often she connected with someone on a personal level, but it seemed that Kimba had accomplished that deep sort of tie with Avira. Now he just had to hold onto it.

Holding On...

Taste. One of the many senses Kimba loved to experience. Scent, also a big component when it came to enjoying a meal. Especially something exotic, off-world, not a usual, everyday experience. A highlight of Deen's barbecues. Him and his mate, Thoee, heavy off-world explorers. So, "satisfied" wasn't quite the word Kimba would use for this meal. But then, ever since he'd been a kit, he'd reveled in the pure sensation of being alive. Spent hours staring at his hands, feet, tail, whatever part of his body caught his interest, just so he could watch his fingers and toes wiggle, his tail's tip flick...

... yes, this very characteristic of his personality was what had lead him to engrave his personal tattoo on that iburnium nugget, to take some part of himself and put it into his work. In this case, some "part" that normally remained hidden.

So, yes, taste, smell and other sensations gave Kimba great pleasure. Bite. Chew. Swallow. Repeat. All the while, enjoying taste, texture... almost a religious experience. Well, for him, just something as natural as breathing, to enjoy all of Life's... well, joys. Knowing how precious such things are in the Universe. Never one to hide. So...

... "Homesick..." He had to think, licked barbecue sauce off his fingers... "Sometimes. I was born here in Rum, but when I'm Outing after bits for my work, I miss seeing friends and family." He shifted a little closer to Avira...

... "It's fun to travel, but Home is a comfort. You're not a stranger when you're Home."

Kimba looked down at his lap. Yes, when he'd moved, his plate had tilted a little, enough to drip drippings lap-ward. He gave Avira a silent "Excuse me" roll of eyes, set his plate aside, then went about licking himself clean. Heh... they'd definitely need those hot towels Thoee had so nicely laid out.......

She listened intently, lingering on every word, every syllable. Her ears tilting back towards his voice to absorb as much of it as possible, to better capture the sound of it, the slight changes in tone and volume, but she could also hear other things, the quieter things, his breathing, her own, the slight cool breeze in the air than sifted through their fur, the now seemingly distant chatter. Avira felt as though she were in a world all her own.

Yes, she did get homesick, but then again she didn't always want to be home. And it was simply in her blood to want to explore everything, to find the most interesting parts of the nature that they lived inside of and amongst. To become familiar with the way the wind would rustle the leaves and weave between the branches of the varying types of trees that stood tall and strived to touch the skies. The way the grass waved about daintily lie an ocean of thin green blades dotted and speckled with wildflowers. The stars that littered the night skies, and the hazy clouds that would sometimes try and hide them from view. It was part of her livelihood, something that ran in her veins, in her heart.

She was an Ekkalli, and as such, she loved travel, to explore every peak and valley, every hole, every twist and turn of the homeworld and the worlds that stretched across the multi-verse. There were so many things to do in ones lifetime, so much to remember and enjoy that one might think there wasn't enough time to do it all. But a Nism had millennia to live, and equal time to explore.

"I'm often times away from home... Sometimes I just wonder if others are too... Sorry if it seemed a bit out of place."

She flashed an apologetic smile at Kimba, swiveling her head around to gaze at him, watching with just as much focus as she listened. But then her gaze fell back into the gift that hung around her neck, sitting up on her haunches, her tail drawing around herself and draping over her toes, tail flicked upwards lazily as she held the iburmium in the palms of her hands, turning it so she could better see the engravings on it. Now that she knew just what they were, she wasn't as uncomfortable with it being on her...

"I'll have to show you around sometime, it's a really nice town. Not too many crowded streets and such, it's quite serene really."

Places and Things...

Scent of musk mixed with taste of barbecue sauce as Kimba licked his left thigh quite near to his nads. Didn't keep him from also hearing things. Feeling things in the flow of chi. Yes, a world of their own, despite where they were. Didn't matter how many stars above held life, the life nearby always meant something near and dear to the heart. Home. Not necessarily the place where you were born, though Kimba had been born in the here, if not in the now. On the world his Creators' had called Home, so very long ago. Not an Ekkalli...

... but that didn't matter.

Kimba also loved to travel, to see new places, meet new people. See what he could see. Hear what he could hear. Scent what he could smell. Touch what he could touch. Taste what the Universe had to offer. Drink in the chi. When he wasn't trying to be surprised, like earlier that day. Pain gone, but just thinking about it made his nads hurt again.

Kimba's attentions turned from his nads to Avira...

... "No sorry needed..."

Her apologetic smile, her eyes, her watching... her look over his gift. Well...

... "I can show you around Rum... I'd also like to show you other places, so many things to see..."

Kimba looked up towards the sky. Then towards Avira, a small quirk to his smile... "If you don't have a place to stay, I could invite you to my place. Show you where I made it......." His mane fluffed, his eyes having dropped towards that iburnium nugget. Him, moved even closer, so he could touch it.

Touch her, as a new song started playing.......

Avira was silent for a bit, listening to the new tune that swam through the air around them, the melody enchanting her as she listened. She felt plenty comfortable around Kimba by now, and, once they were close enough together, she leaned against him, her body pressed against his in a way that transferred warmth and emotion between the two. She was quite content at this moment, and as such, she was more willing and open to doing things she wouldn't do on a normal day or night.

She gave a small smile, pressing her head just beneath his and rubbing against him, like a kit that wanted all of his attention and would refuse to share it. A bond had been made, and Avira felt a desire to keep it strong and healthy, by nearly whatever means necessary.

"I think I'd quite enjoy staying with you, at least for the time that I'll be here in Rum."

Comforts...

Mmmmmmmmm.......

Content also filled Kimba's Spirit, a comfort he'd never felt before. If this is what it felt like to have female company... to Love a mate... well, he just couldn't understand why he'd never had a girlfriend before. Perhaps Fate was just waiting for the right mate material to show up. Kept him "clean" of any former preconceptions. Most likely just him being busy, preoccupied. Thinking about other things. Now, he just couldn't see himself anywhere but here, in the middle of Life, with her by his side.

He would never again wash his musk away.

Yes, another "release"... more of his individual male scent for her to take in. No more awkward. No more unsure. With her pressed against him, all was Good in the Universe...

... a bond formed, indeed.

"You smell so nice." The remainder of his meal was getting cold not far from his other side, but he didn't care... "I'd enjoy having you stay."

Kimba ended his words with that. And returned Avira's cuddle with his own, Living in The Moment.......

Avira inhaled just about as much of his scent as she could without getting an overload, it was permanently engraved in her heart and her mind, an undying memory and something she could always use to locate him whenever she might want to, if they were ever separated. However, she doubted that such a separation would be likely to happen.

Not only was he covering in pheromones, but so was Avira, he wasn't the only one whom had repeatedly musked. And as such, the scents mixed together at certain few places, and the resulting aroma was indeed a bit different and new, but she didn't quite mind, considering that she was in a moment of bliss right then.

"Well I guess as soon as we're done here we can head over to your place then?"

Mixed Together...

Avira's and Kimba's pheromones were, indeed, mixed together... one of those "certain places" being Kimba's nose. All four nostrils flared, though it was the upper pair most sensative to such "signals". Avira herself most likely experiencing the same... stimulation. All perfectly natural and normal for mature (and maturing) Nism. So yes, overload. Split sinuses connected directly to the brain. The up-side split, also directly to a male's and female's "second brain". If not for their sentient reasoning, their ability to choose... their cultural traditions... this whole talk about "going to my place" would most likely result in...

... "Yes, soon as we're done..."

Kimba reached out and batted at Avira's tail tuft. Caught hold of it, and gave it a deep sniff. And almost passed out...

... "Interested in... dessert?"

Despite the implications, it was an innocent question. Even though the next song didn't help matters, it did...

... "One last dance?"

The smile on Kimba's face, ears tilted back, fur fluffed, exuded warmth as he stood, tail lifted high. And offered Avira his hands.......

Her eyes shot open when he got a hold of her tail, holding it up to his nose, her head immediately cast down an alarmed look at him, but a slight smile creeping across her muzzle at the reaction he gave once he had gotten a good deep whiff of her musk, which was particularly thick around the tuft of her tail. Of course, she pulled it free of his hands quickly after, pulling it away from him for the moment.

Indeed she was feeling similar stimulation, yes indeed that was correct in every sense of the word. But scent wasn't the only one she was getting a lot of. The chi flow between them only got stronger with every passing second, like a thickly woven rope that bound them together now, and wouldn't be so easily broken. The feelings of affection and admiration between them were unmistakable, and it seemed that these two had become somewhat inseparable.

As for dessert, she wasn't entirely certain that she was too concerned with that, she was more focused on the male in front of her, whom had taken the liberty of snatching her tail only moments ago and inhaling as much of her scent as he possibly could at once, nearly causing him to faint on the spot.

"I'd quite enjoy another dance~"

She placed her hands in his, and kept him near her. They didn't need to join the rest of the dancers of the crowd, where they were was plenty of room for just the two of them to dance. The melody of music once again flowing around them starlight filtering through the glittering lights and the thick branches of the oak tree above. It was quite a romantic scene, and none of it would've ever happened if the unfortunate events that brought them to cross path had never occurred in the first place.

It almost made one think that maybe if more unfortunate things happened, then many more excellent things would befall them... But it 's just a thought, and a wildly uncertain one at that.

Just Thoughts...

Thoee had remained very watchful, aware how delicate such moments were. How her job as hostess required her to look out for her guests. Which she did for Avira and Kimba by making sure Prim and Rass... and her own little daughter... didn't disturb them. Again.

Yes, she just loved watching a young couple bond.......

Kimba loved the experience. The sensation of all this scent and chi and warmth and breath and heartbeat. Sound of her voice, feel of fur pressed to fur. Every twitch and slide of muscle as he danced with her. So much romance in the air! Almost made one think some "Other Force", some cupidic angel from Heaven, had pierced each of them with a whole quiver of arrows.

Well, yes, just a thought.

In Kimba's own thoughts, it certainly felt this way. Felt like him and her, no matter how far separated, would never be alone. Could touch each other across Universes. Oh... so much Life! A simple dance, a sharing of Souls. And then the song they'd just danced to changed... another new song began. A song that made Kimba think very deep upon a very... intimate future. Kits. With Avira. Starting and raising a family.

But he kept dancing. Kept looking into Avira's eyes. Kept thinking.......

It had progressed quite deep into the night by now, and a pale full moon rested among glittering stars in a clear navy sky. Yes, it was very late indeed, and by now there were less Nism about in the yard, especially ones with kits as they had to put them to bed. Everyone needed to sleep to some extent.

But Avira wasn't tired, no. She wasn't in the least bit weary, even though her entire system told her she needed rest, she denied herself the action and kept awake instead, just to be there in the moment, dancing under moon and starlight with the only one she felt comfortable with aside from the few others she knew. She was away from home, and it was nice to feel like she was in comfort at such a distance from that place.

The thought of kits was hardly a present thought in the female's mind, it rarely came to be noticed. And even so, she wouldn't be terribly fond of the idea of suddenly up and staring a family of her own, it seemed too quick for her. And it wouldn't bode well on her part if it was brought to light in conversation, she'd very likely immediately turn down the suggestion.

But considering how late it was, she had mellowed out significantly when compared to how fickle and composed she had been earlier that day. Her mood smoothed and became far more malleable when she was a bit more tired, and provided certain advantages to others around her, including to Kimba. However, these advantages would have to be found out for himself, and with time they certainly would be.

Cool Night...

Yes, Kimba kept thinking. Quite deep into a cool night, despite summer's warm days. Thoughts about kits and the future, but yes, like Avira, not in a rush. Both of them still a bit young, not even a full day knowing each other. As deep as they'd bonded, they still needed time, indeed. No need to rush. Only one of three moons up... Gan, the Elder Brother. His two sister siblings, Jun and Tin, "busy" elsewhere. Kimba glanced up. Noted how late it was. Looked around. Saw some... parents... had gone home with their kits. Only a few other couples left.

A deep, satisfied sigh.......

Music had faded away. Him and her could still use some of those hot towels, but...

... "Avira... time to go?"

His twitch of ears, swish of tail, ruffle of fur and shroudruff flare as he looked at her... his tilt of head... yes, could be called cute. Handsome male, sense of humor expressed by stuck-out tongue. Him, also needing rest, but also not wanting this eve to end.

However, everything had to end, at some point. Or nothing new could ever be done. So, a quick hug and lick, then down on fours, his slow pace aimed for home.......

The female looked at him, a small smile gracing her features, ears riveted forwards, her tail curled behind her, bright orange plume having turned more of a pastel color due to the hues from the moons glow, it altered perception of color a bit for most. Her ruby red eyes held a mixture of emotions swirling behind them, affection, comfort, weariness, the remains of the excitement from earlier in the day. It was amazing how quickly time seemed to pass when one was so distracted with things.

She gave a nod and pressed herself against him the very second he got close enough to her for such contact to be achievable. Yes, while on a normal day during one of her 'expeditions' she would simply have found a decent place to rest outside, she often slept under the stars when away from her 'home', but this once she was staying with someone and would be sleeping indoors on this fine night.

She quietly followed astride Kimba, lingering next to him but slightly behind as well, she wasn't directly next to the male as she walked, the pads of her hands and feet emanating a soft patting sound against the dirt with an even stride, her head tilted upwards slightly towards the sky to examine the patterns of the stars, she quite enjoyed stargazing. She found it to be a most relaxing past-time.

Meanwhile, though she wasn't entirely aware of it, she had begun humming a tune to herself. One she recalled as a lullaby that she'd loved as a child, it always seemed to work on her, in fact she had several music boxes at 'home', specifically in her 'house'. One might even say she collected them, she loved music boxes, she found them to be quite charming and whimsical little trinkets.

But anyway, yes, she had started humming to herself, unaware that it wasn't quiet enough not to be heard, so the tune would very well travel to Kimba's ears, whether he took notice of it or not wasn't something that could be determined by the female, as she herself wasn't entirely aware of what she was doing...

In Sync...

Nism ears weren't just for decoration. Very large, very mobile. Very sensitive. Kimba's ears twitched back, aware almost as soon as she began humming. Because he was entirely aware of what he was doing... aware of her. Even though his eyes remained forwards, following the trails and pathways towards home. Inside, near-silent, he also started humming her tune. Waited patiently. When a brief, quiet moment came, he began humming his own tune.

Moonlight made Kimba's fur glow, his pale coloration very good at reflecting such light in a pastel aura. Amber eyes bright, he glanced over shoulder at Avira...

... "Nice night for singing..." He hadn't stopped his slow, quiet all-fours pace, his dance-like movements, hand and foot and everything else.

But his humming break only lasted the space of his words. Eyes foreward again, he returned to humming his chosen song, then to quietly sing it. Yet his eyes kept glancing back, whenever he sang "all the pretty little ponies". Yes, indeed, fully well aware of what he was doing.......

She still followed, her own lulling tune coming to a complete halt as she listened to Kimba instead, her pace slowing slightly as her gaze became riveted to the male in front and slightly beside her instead. She had to admit he had thoroughly impressed her and rightfully earned her affections, but earning Avira herself was something else entirely.

She felt it shouldn't be much longer of a walk before she'd be able to achieve some rest, sleep through the remainder of the night, it was very late. And she had also to admit that she was somewhat tired after the days events, it was very energy draining...

The moonlight made everything look somewhat pale, the grass, the flowers, the trees and the buildings intertwined with nature. It was quite a pacifying scene to observe, even more so walk through it and become a part of it. And the song that Kimba sang made it even better. While she was familiar with this song, it had been just as long since she had heard it at all as it had been her mothers lullabies. It brought back many memories of her childhood, many many cherished thoughts.

"I like it when you sing, it's very calming for me..."

Doorways...

No, not much longer to walk. Only seeming longer due to their slow pace, though Avira had never been to and therefore didn't know where Kimba lived. Which wasn't very far from Thoee and Deen's place. Neighbors. Not "next door", but close enough to be considered so. Nism just didn't tend towards packing their homes right up against each other. With Rum being more grown than built, it could sometimes be difficult to tell home from forest. With Nism architecture tending to borrow from many worlds, as well as from their Creators, again, "home" could sometimes be hard to determine.

Kimba's place tended to mix its architectural metaphors.......

Under a quite substantial tree, what appeared a simple fisherman's shanty... his shop. A closer look, perhaps one could tell something odd about the tree, on a moonlit night. That tree, Kimba's actual home. Its multi-level interior big enough to raise a family, though simple as the shanty in its furnishings. Oh, the shanty? A structure seemingly made out of jetsam and flotsam and other discarded bits, so old in appearance moss and vines had nearly taken over its exterior. The tree, grown so in that time, it had partly "swallowed" the shanty's posterior. Tree, odd, because moonlight reflected from windows set like giant knot-holes.

Though it looked nothing like, it had the homey feel of a Hobbit hole. Only higher up.......

Round door, round windows. The route Kimba took, over a fallen log and into what passed for his front yard. Up to the door, slide latch, push, wave female inside, slip in behind her, reach up, push door back into place, re-latch... done. Shanty neat and clean inside. Workbench. Tools. Bins and shelves with material and items, organized. Light, too. Hung lanterns lit on their own as they'd entered. Then through a back passage, into the tree...

... warm, cozy, well lit on all levels now, as they both stood there. Wood everywhere. Metal and stone in others. Mix of simple and technological, though not much of the latter. Just bits collected here and there. Trinkets. Knick-knacks. Living room and kitchen and bath on this level. Higher up, on the winding stairs, bedrooms and other things. All neat, clean, tidy. Though not so much so, you couldn't tell a young male lived here. Yes, a few scattered books, dishes still on the sink, towels draped over chair-backs... those chairs that even had backs. Well, nothing was ever perfect.

Still, Kimba fluffed all over as his eyes gazed all over familiar territory. He'd suddenly realized this was the first time he'd shown a female his home! Well...

... "I'd like to sing for you more." He yawned... "I'd also like to show you around." He looked her brightly in the eyes, ears tilted back... "But I'd also like to sleep curled up in a warm nest with someone I know, before I fall asleep on the floor." He shuffled on his feet, tail up then down before he dropped back to all-fours... "And I'd like to answer this call of nature before we do that..."

Grin, before he paced onward towards his bathroom.......

Avira's 'home' looked nothing even remotely similar to this, but she found Kimba's abode to be rather a charming little thing, not that it was little, no she was sure that from the looks of it, this place was anything but. She strode inside, right past him previous to giving a look over everything in her vision only to follow him elsewhere. She quickly became comfortable in this 'house', feeling like she was back at her own place nearly, save for the drastic differences in both interior and exterior.

She paused, halting movement and swiveling her head a bit to examine the room she stood in, finding that each level of the house was a bit different than the last, each with it's own special aspect. She took a moment to remember everything about this place, so she wouldn't forget about it by the time she herself made the trip back to her own place of birth and being raised, as such was the part of the Homeworld that she had chosen to stay.

"That's quit alright Kimba, do what you need to do.. There's no rush..."

She flashed a sweet smile his way before she promptly sat down where she was, her tail laid in a wavy pattern of sorts, lazily arranged in a kind of way that resembled ocean waves. She herself also yawned, both jaws widening, tongue curled slightly in the action before they pulled shut again, blinking a few times as she continued to observe the surrounding scene, the way everything was so organized.

Her home wasn't this organized, a few piles of books here an there, but it wasn't unlivable. She had a rather widespread place to live in, it wasn't particularly tall, but it was accommodated for in the amount of space it took up, it was somewhat expansive. She liked the way everything had a place and every place had a thing that it was designated for, it made for a very neat home, something that Avira found to be quite admirable.

Neat And Tidy...

Kimba did indeed do what he needed to do. And no, he didn't rush. Didn't linger, either. Just made his "contribution", stepped on the paddle, and fertilized his tree. Biology... the kindness of their Creators... left everything neat and tidy. Never a need for toilet paper. No need to touch anything. Though he still washed his hands, out of habit. A courtesy when visiting other worlds where such washing was socially necessary. As well as just necessary in a general sense. Necessary from a health perspective.......

....... but, to be honest, Kimba thought of other things while he washed his hands. What was that saying? "Grab the bull by his horns".......

Yes, as he returned to Avira, he started to hum, then to sing a very bold song. Tired, yes, but still wanting another romantic moment. More of himself, given to her. Tomorrow would be another day, filled with other things. Grab what he could, tonight. Not that "sleeping together" had the same implications for a Nism as it did for a human, but it still meant something. A closeness. Relationships had to grow, if they wanted to develop far enough to bear seed. To a Nism, sharing warmth, breath and heartbeat nurtured a relationship. Signaled a desire to get to know another in a deeper, more intimate fashion. Be that a close friendship or.......

Boldness.

Kimba again paced all fours, again his movements a dance. His voice, strong yet gentle. Soft fur, warmth underneath, for a moment, his pressed to hers. Then he headed for the stairs, head swaying side to side as he hummed the final passage to the song...

... "Yes, you really do fill up my senses, Avira..." A comfortable, comforting warmth radiated from his smile, him stopped just at stairs' foot... "Tomorrow, adventure. Tonight..." His gesture swept around and up as his ears perked... "a short tour, if you wish. Or sleep......."

Kimba couldn't help yawing.......

Oh the wild charms of boys, they never failed to amuse and intrigue Avira, never ceased to amaze and astound her with the vast number of ways they could think up to impress a woman. While Kimba had readily taken up the challenge of a romantic pursuit, she never would have thought he'd have so easily surpassed her expectations of him.

Upon his return, she watching him intently, his every move, every shift of muscle, the elegant but still vaguely unrefined steps in this makeshift dance meant for one but to be observed my others. In all honesty, she thought it was cute the way he danced around and sang for her, but she also found it to be attractive and sweet of him.

She approached him very innocently, getting right up next to him and acting very coy all of a sudden. Her tail twirled coils around his, her figure pressed against his very comfortably, head pushing beneath his as a low hum emanated from her, both ears laid flat against her head. And of course, in a flirtatious act to get her point across, she went ahead and beat her lashes at him before leaving his side and taking a few steps ahead, her figure swaying with a certain feminine aspect as she stopped and cast her gaze back to him.

"We can spare the tours for tomorrow... It's been a long day hasn't it? I'd say we could both use a little rest."
