ALL THE -PUNK GENRES
I remember to this day
My first attempt to greet you
You politely went your way
and left without a clue

T'was only later on, by chance
That I saw your apprehension
Luckily, I earned my glance
And managed to grab your attention

Thus, years went by in a blink
Yet, you stayed when others left
Slowly, surely did I feel myself sink
as I felt my joys suffering theft

You were there, ever caring
to help me pick up my many pieces
Even if your visits were sparing
I felt gratitude that never ceases

So, it eventually came to a head
And I felt my feelings for you bloom
Strangely, I told you that without dread
And when I was denied, I felt no gloom

Thus, we simply went on
but my affections never faded
rather it built from where it sprung
and within it, I felt shaded

So, on a mere instant whim
I decided to give my thanks
As my affections reach the brim
Luckily, my mind didn't go blank

You forgive my animal envy
even though you're not mine
You see my brittle heart aplenty
and keep my sanity in line

I feel happier speaking to you
and I feel needy in your absence
My feelings only grew
And never felt usual silence

I pray this a satisfactory
Albeit a humble token
of my affection being refractory
of whom my heart has chosen
