A Complicated Relationship

She was put off by his advancing on her, and while he so wanted to let her walk away, he couldn't just let it go. He didn't need her starting rumors about a creeper on campus, he'd have to change locations earlier than he'd ever planned to. She stepped back and turned to go. He reached out an caught her wrist. "Please don't scream. It would be bad." He was losing his head, faltering entirely. He hadn't charmed her nearly as much as he'd intended to do before he made a move on the girl. She wasn't as receptive to him as he'd thought. "I have no intentions of violating you in any way." He promised. Not completely the truth.

When PJ reached out and grabbed her wrist, Rose was definitely about to scream. For some reason though her body listened to him when he told her not to though. This night just keeps getting stranger by the minute she thought. How could she believe that he wouldn't violate her when he obviously wasn't starting off on the right foot for that. Grabbing people's wrists? Definitely not "i'm not going to violate you" behavior. Rose tried to tug her wrist out of his grip but it was useless he was a heck of lot stronger than she imagined.

She listened to him, much to his surprise. She stopped herself from screaming, and felt a little better about this whole thing. He kept his grip tight on her wrist, just because he didn't need her running off, which she would surely do at this point. He regained his composure, ignoring the useless tugs she gave. He looked at her, expression bored. "Are you done yet?" He asked, knowing that it felt a lot better to have teeth in your neck if you weren't struggling against it. He stepped toward her once more.

Rose's wrist was beginning to hurt a little from where he was gripping it so tightly. She knew that her trying to pull her wrist away was just a useless attempt. When she looked up and saw his bored expression, she gave up on trying to pull away. She didn't answer his question because she was afraid of how her voice would have sounded. She simply nodded her head in agreement and looked down. Well mom and dad, if you can hear me I love you both and tell all of my friends the same thing she thought. She knew they couldn't hear her but it made her feel better knowing she had said her goodbyes.

"Just, hold still, okay?" He said, other hand resting on her hip. It almost looked like he was going to kiss her, but he was almost certain that she knew that wouldn't be the case. He wasn't a killer, he was a parasite. Annoying, but you could heal from their bites if they disappeared after a certain amount of time. He lowered his head, moving her hair gently away from her jugular. If it'd been another vampire, they'd have completely ripped it out and it would have been a mess. He had too much respect for life to do that, though. His fangs elongated, poking his bottom lip uncomfortably.

When PJ told Rose to hold still she thought well it's been nice. To anyone walking by it would have looked like PJ was going to kiss her because of his closeness and his hand being on her hip. Rose knew better than to think that though. Up until this point she wanted to deny the little voice in the back of her head that was telling her that PJ was not human. Up until now she didn't wanna believe that creatures that were suppose to stay in fairy tales were true. As she felt him move her hair to the side she could only think of one word...vampire.

He punctured her skin lazily, an old pro that may as well have been making a well-practiced drive to get it on the green easily. She knew what he was, it was obvious by this point, but he moved his hand, putting a finger to her lips to tell her to stay quiet. He didn't take a lot, enough to survive off of until he found someone else tomorrow. His tongue brushed over the wounds, and he pulled back, having caused the blood to clot. He wiped his mouth on the back of his hand. "I'm really sorry it had to be you." He told her, and then looked her directly in the eye. "You will begin to forget about this.." He trailed off, voice hypnotic.

Rose could feel his fangs puncture her skin and she winced slightly. It wasn't painful but it wasn't exactly the most comfortable experience she had ever had. She knew not to make a sound even before he put a finger to her lips to keep her quiet. She didn't feel herself getting dizzy so at least he wasn't taking too much. Way to look on the bright side of this Rose she thought to keep her mind off of what was happening to her. When he brushed tongue over the puncture wounds she shivered and looked at him. Watching him wipe her blood off his mouth almost made her faint but she kept composed. Rose could feel her mind start to cloud over as his voice turned hypnotic.

He continued to lull her into forgetfulness, knowing that erasing a memory that was surely scarring would be the best option. She could go on with her life and he with his own, and they would never need to meet again. Her blood was wonderful, that was certain, but he was all for protecting himself and his identity from the prying public eye. Sure, there was no possibility for companionship, but when you live forever, there wasn't that anyhow. She was beginning to get to the point where her mind would take over and his voice was no longer needed, so he quieted himself, looking to her carefully. She would now not have a clue who he was, which was good. Right?

The feeling of cloudyness completely surrounded Rose's brain. She had the feeling that she wouldn't be remembering any of this in the morning. Which she was equally sad and happy about. Everything that had happened including their religious theory discussion, PJ biting her and drinking blood from her neck, his smile, and even PJ himself were starting to become distant memories. Not even a few seconds after that the distant memories became figments of imagination and then they were gone. Rose's mind cleared and she saw that she was standing in front of her apartment with a major headache. She noticed a stranger standing beside her but since it was late she just turned and headed inside.

She was finally taking to his methods of hypnotic speaking and she had no recollection of who he was or what he'd done. He watched Rose as she walked into the building, not batting an eye at him, the stranger who'd probably just walked her home because they were headed to the same place. He shoved his hands into his pockets, damned his being a vampire under his breath, and turned on his heel. He walked in the other direction, glancing skyward. Plenty of darkness left, just nothing to do with it. He could go outside during the day, but when your main concern was wandering, it didn't matter when you did it. Perhaps he'd go out and get a job. The campus was vast enough for the two of them, and he could come up with an updated version of his degree.

Rose gathered her mail before walking towards the elevator. Somehow tonight felt strange. When she tried to remember how she got this major headache, she always came up blank. She remembered walking to the library earlier today, studying, and then leaving but then her thoughts went straight to being in front of her building. It was like the walk here never happened. Rose stopped trying to think about it. She brushed it off as her just being extremely tired and nervous for tomorrow. When the elevator stopped on her floor she got out and walked down to her apartment. It was great being able to have her own space and not have to share with a roommate. Rose dropped her mail, purse, and bookbag on the couch. She walked straight into her room and laid down without changing clothes.

He walked across campus, having to wonder just how long he'd be able to keep this up. The whole not feeling anything bit that he was so accustomed to at this point. It was getting old, and he didn't like that fact at all. When girls like Rose came along and took interest in what he had to say, as well as looking at him as strangely as girls had when he was a human that had nothing more to do with the real world than any other child. He went 'home' to the extended stay lodging, casting a bright smile to the lady behind the desk who smiled at him and told him to have a good night. She probably swore he'd been on a date. Funny how older people just liked to assumed the best of people, just because he wasn't pierced and tattooed. It wasn't that he hadn't tried, the ink faded from his skin in a week and the piercings healed up and closed overnight, causing the scar on his lip due to his having to pull it out.

Rose's alarm clock blared, alerting her to the fact that it was time to wake up. She was definitely not a morning person but after today she wouldn't have to wake up so early anymore. Rose rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom. She noticed how her hair was in tangles and how she still had on yesterday's clothes. She shook herself awake and continued with her morning routine. Freshly showered and dressed in leggings and a tshirt, she grabbed her purse, put on her rainbows, and headed out the door. In the elevator she quickly threw her hair into a bun. This time i'm taking my car she thought to herself as she walked out of the building to the parking lot. Once in her car she drove to get coffee and then to her exam. Well here goes nothing she thought as she walked into the lecture hall.

PJ had gotten to the point were he was completely off in his game. Instead of bouncing from human to human later that night, he picked one and just practiced, and then drank more than necessarily was safe. His body was calling for him to do it, but she wasn't satisfying in taste. He dropped her off at the hospital so she could have a blood transfusion, and then returned home. The following day, he woke up and wandered back to that campus, feeling moodier than he normally was, but that was a side effect of not getting what he wanted. He was a positively stubborn creature, so not getting his way caused him to be irritated. He put on his happy face anyhow and went to the administration building, having a nice talk with the woman before he got an aid application and began to fill it out.

When Rose was done with her exam she could have almost jumped with joy. One semester done she thought. Rose walked out of the a building and down the steps to her car. She needed to go the administration building to fill out an application for her classes next semester. This time she promised herself not to take any morning classes. When she arrived at the office and went inside, she noticed the stranger that was outside her building last night. For some reason her head started hurting almost the minute she saw him. Well that's weird she thought. SHrugging, she walked up to the lady at the desk and asked about classes for next semester.

When PJ came across the section about crimes and things of that sort, he kind of smirked. None he'd been convicted of, and none that had been on purpose or directly his fault. When he was young, he hadn't been able to control himself, but dead people seemed to stay dead at that time. No one tracked fingerprints back then, and he hadn't come forward. Jail would have been a really bad place to put him. He glanced up when he saw the girl from the night before. Rose, right? He couldn't speak though, just finished reading through the paperwork, signed in an illegible scrawl, and came up to the desk, politely handing in his application and turning to leave the building. It would be safer for her to not relive that night, even though his mind screamed in protest.

While filling out her class sheet, Rose continued to think about ,or at least try to think about, the guy she saw last night. Rose was sure that she had seen him last night. Finally finishing the paperwork she handed it back in. The lady at the front desk assured her that her schedule would be emailed to her later on next week. Rose smiled and thanked the woman before walking outside. She considered going up to him and asking if they had met before but she was nervous. Quickly weighing the pros and cons she ran up to him and taped the stranger on the shoulder. "Hi..ummm I don't want to make this sound strange but...have we met before?" she asked before she could change her mind.

He left the building and walked out onto the courtyard, moving across it without a second thought. He needed to leave Rose alone. She needed to be left alone, no matter how much he apparently wanted her, and something said that had more to do with the flavor of her blood than it did with anything about her. Yeah, he'd enjoyed talking with her, but that didn't fill his stomach or ease his mind for any extended period of time. He heard running steps, and then felt a finger on his shoulder, so he stopped and turned around, looking at her, head tilted. "We met last night. I asked you for directions to my new flat." He lied, smooth even in those. "Can I help you?" PJ asked carefully, hoping he hadn't been a trigger. That would really blow.

When he spoke to her it was like a tiny locked box in the back of her mind rattled. There was something so completely familiar about him. She knew that she hadn't given him directions to his flat but then again her memory was a little fuzzy in some areas. She was hoping for him to say more than that she just gave him directions but oh well what did she expect? To look at him and have her memory come flooding back? Those were silly thoughts. Rose smiled even though it didn't reach her eyes and said,"Well... I was hoping...It's silly nevermind. Sorry to have bothered you." She turned around and walked back towards her car. What had she been thinking? she thought to herself.
