A Clash of Worlds (Taliesin&redblood)

Adrian nodded. He should have expected a machine for drinks since there was one for food. He would certainly have to play with it a bit later, see what all the buttons did and taste this 'soda'. He would prefer to do it in private however. It seemed he couldn't tell how long his learning curve on these things was going to be. He took the bowel and sniffed at it with a happy sigh before popping one in his mouth. It was quite good, though it could definitely use a bit more salt. "I will have to learn to make this." He ate several more pieces in quick succession. It was yummy but not the most filling food, certainly better than nothing. "Some more seasoning would not go amiss…" As he thought about it, some cheese wouldn't be terrible either but stealing cheese from kitchens not used to magic would probably scare someone and that wouldn't be the best idea.

The salt however was a quick flick of wrist away and he started to shake more in before pausing and giving Paris a concerned look. "Ah, I am being rude again. I did not even enquire." He cast his eyes to the side shamefully, sending the salt back. He assumed that Paris had not used more salt because of Paris' own preferences of course.

Paris watched with big eyes as his friend started to salt the popcorn even more, but then he stopped himself. "It's okay." He ensured Adrian. "I usually use a pretty unhealthy amount of salt." He then confessed. It was quite funny how it was Adrian's first time eating popcorn and still they seemed to have the same taste for it. Paris mother would most likely have fainted if she knew the amount of salt that already had been put into it. She always complained about such things, and warned him about kidney failure. Though the only time he salted things was when he ate popcorn and it didn't happen as often as she made it seem.

"I can call on a servant to bring you something if you wish to have a proper meal. Popcorn is probably not the best substitute for a decent dinner." Paris proposed. He had thought of doing that from the start, the popcorn was mainly to still his stomach while they waited. Even something easy took a little while to prepare, especially when the cook had to be found, return to the kitchen on such an odd hour, and then prepare the meal. It wasn't especially late, but every guest, every servant and the royal family had already eaten, so those whom cooked the food had most likely retired to their quarters, while those whom took care of the aftermath still were there.

Adrian grinned, so Paris liked a lot of salt as well? He would have never guessed but considering how well everything had been going so far he wasn't entirely surprised. He went ahead and summoned the salt back, seasoning it to his taste and waiting to see how Paris felt about it. He had another handful of popcorn before answering his question. "That would perhaps be best. This will be sufficient for the moment but it is definitely in my best interest to eat something a bit more substantial than this 'popcorn'." He wasn't too concerned about the inconvenience to the servants; it was after all their job. They got paid to feed whoever needed to be fed regardless of hour.

"Tell them anything will do, even a couple sandwiches." For all he may be a prince he wasn't really that picky of an eater. He enjoyed good food but since Magic tended to consume so much of your energy he would often consume large amounts of food that were rather generic or he didn't particularly care for during his training or more extended casting.

As Adrian stopped his insane seasoning, Paris took a handful and tasted. "Perfect." He mused, quite amazed over the fact that they had almost identical amounts of salt. Maybe Adrian took a little bit more than what Paris was used too, but it wasn't a big difference.

Paris picked up his cellphone, as he felt too lazy to just go out the door and tell the closest servant to give a message to any of the cooks. He had a few of the servants numbers. His adviser of course, as they needed to be able to contact each other at all time. Though the prince did turn off his phone whenever he didn't want to be contacted, so that was kind of pointless. One of the cooks of course, since he used to crave a midnight sandwich when he was younger it was easy to just send off a text. And then there was the head maid, and a couple of others.

He fast found the number in his electronic phone book and put the phone towards his ear as it started to ring. First when he had pushed the button, he realized how confusing that must be for Adrian. Well, he just had to explain afterwards. The cook answered almost immediately and luckily, he hadn't even left the kitchen yet. Paris told him to make something easy and fast, it didn't matter what it was and then he told him where it should be sent.

"It will be here shortly." Paris announced as he clicked on the red button on his phone to end the phone call.

Adrian couldn't help a pleased smile. He really shouldn't be as happy about something as inane as seasoning a snack but he was already getting used to the fact that Paris brought out weird sides of him. He munched on a few more pieces of popcorn, watching Paris talk into the device and finding himself struck with a strong urge to ravish that sweet innocent man this very second. It was so strong he felt his hand moving almost without his permission and somewhere in-between realizing what he was doing and pulling his hand back he managed to choke on a piece of popcorn and practically fell of the couch dislodging it.

He leaned back finally with a wince. "Ow…" He whined softly, hoping that at least his choking distracted the other man from his near miss. "Well hopefully it will be a less dangerous meal." He rubbed at his throat and sighed. "So does everyone have those communication devices of yours?"

"Adrian!" Paris exclaimed as the other prince fell off the couch. He looked worried at the other man for a few seconds until he noticed that he were fine. "You scared me half to death." He sighed relieved before answering his friends question. "Most people do yes. Some people have ceased to use mobile phones completely and only use their computers for communication. But that's not very convenient for the majority of the population." He told him, but didn't mention why those people had stopped using mobile phones. There were people that were so hung up on the fable that mobile phones caused cancer so they refused to have them. What they failed to realize though was that tons of other technology they used every day gave of the same kind of radiation.

"It's kind of like a smaller version of a computer, you can even use the internet on it." He then continued. He hadn't really thought about how alike a computer and a phone was. You could pretty much use them for the exact same things. "The only difference between them is that computers were created to hold information in data form, while phones were just a mean to contact others that were far away. Then they became more and more similar, and now there's really no difference except for the size."

Adrian listened quietly while pondering if and when he could get his hands on one of those. They seemed much more convenient and if it functioned just like a computer as well…well there was no reason to say no. He was once again feeling excited for all that he had to learn, rather than overwhelmed. "Such little things to have so much power…so convenient too." That was the one thing that stuck him about this technology again and again was that it could be used by anyone with sufficient knowledge. And while he would never give up his magic he could only imagine how powerful a country able to use both would be.

He looked back to the movie then and grinned. "Shall we resume watching the butchering of proper magic then?" It would be a good distraction from his desire to jump his companion. It was made worse by the fact that Paris would certainly have no idea what was going on until his hand was in the other man's pants. It made him want to push push push but he was far too cautious for that.

It seemed like the frustration from his try with the computer earlier that day hadn't turned him off from technology. Actually it seemed like Adrian was even more excited about it than before. "The butchering of proper magic was one of the most popular book series and movies once upon a time." Paris mentioned as he turned the movie back on. Even in their time, Harry potter was still considered one of the best book series of all time. The movies were further down on the list, but it had its fanbase too.

Not much time went by before a servant knocked on the door with Adrian's food. The cook had been fast just as expected, and even though it was nothing but simple sandwiches, he had still been able to cut make them look like more than they were by cutting them in different shapes, and arranging the comestibles into nice patterns. Just like he had done when Paris had been a child. It was still as amusing as it had been back then, even though it wasn't for him.

The servant left them and once again it was just Paris, Adrian and a ton of fake magicians on a TV.

Adrian gave a bit of a disdainful sniff but refrained from saying what he wanted, which was that Paris' people had terrible taste in entertainment. Of course even though he wouldn't admit it and he was still somewhat confused because it was not the start of the series it was engaging. Entirely wrong but several of the characters were engaging and there seemed to be an interesting overarching storyline that he was missing out on mostly.

He was interested enough that he took his plate and devoured all of the sandwiches without once actually glancing down to see the fancy patterns the cook had made. Which was just as well because he would have been baffled at best or annoyed at worst because it was the sort of thing you would do with a child's meal and he was no child. The somewhat uncomfortable bulge that was thankfully mostly hidden in the many folds of his robes was testament to that.

Once the movie was over he stood up quickly, making sure not to face Paris. "I will be right back. The bathrooms were this way yes?" He gestured vaguely in a direction and strode towards the door without actually waiting for a response.

They didn't speak much for the rest of the movie, but it didn't feel like an awkward silence. It felt nice just relaxing with a friend and watch a movie together. Once the movie ended, that relaxing moment ended too as he got slightly worried for Adrian. "Yes, it's to..." Paris started but Adrian was out of the door before he had actually finished it. "The left?... " He wondered if everything was alright with his fellow prince. It seemed as if he acted slightly odd. If you could spot that after only knowing a person for a day, then something must be wrong. Or maybe he was just paranoid.

He sighed slightly as he sat completely alone in the awfully big room. He had never thought that the size of the room was overwhelming before. But once he had been left alone in it, that was all that came to mind. Had it always been so cold in there? Now he was definitely starting to think silly thoughts.

Paris shook his head, and forced himself to collect himself. Nothing was wrong, and he should just try to think about what movie Adrian might want to watch next, if they would watch more. Some people was easily bored if they tried to watch too many movies in a row. Paris could marathon TV series and movies for twelve hours when he got the chance, but the same might not be for his new found friend.

To Adrian's slight surprise, he actually found some bathrooms in fairly short order. He magic'd the door closed and cast a 'there's nothing wrong here' spell before actually taking a look around the room. It was fairly ornate, as could be expected in a palace. Unfortunately he needed to get this over with and return before Paris become concerned.

He settled himself in one of the stalls and pulled his robes up out of the way. He reached down to grasp himself as he put his visualization skills to good use. He imagined the sweet confusion on Paris' face as he first touched him, followed by the realization and hesitant acceptance, because he was too innocent to be sure about such a thing. He imagined it was Paris's hand on him as he guided the other man in the best ways to stroke and make another feel good. He could see the embarrassed face he knew Paris would make and with one last quick stroke released into a wad of toilet paper.

He didn't move after that for a few moments, just breathing and recovering. He couldn't stand that sweet naiveté; it would be his undoing for sure. And of course he could not stay away even if he wanted. Eventually he forced himself to move, flushing the paper down the toilet and giving himself a quick wash with some toilet paper. Once he felt semi-presentable again he returned to the movie room, once again in fine spirits. "My apologies. Now, did you have another movie in mind? Or perhaps another activity?" Anything was fine with him.

Paris was just about to rise from the couch to go and see if everything was alright, when the door was opened and in walked Adrian. He seemed completely fine, and his strange behavior seemed to have disappeared as if magic had stricken. Not completely impossible he admitted to himself, but very unlikely.

"We could try out some video games." He suggested with a faint smile. But it disappeared as he still felt slightly concerned. "You sure you're okay? You seemed a bit out of it before. Was something wrong with the food maybe?" He did consider food poisoning, it rarely happened in the palace, but bacteria could creep in anywhere, and sometimes it was the smallest of mistakes that made people sick. During an epidemic some years earlier, almost half the castle had gotten sick because of the food. His father had fallen ill for a week, but his mother and he did make it out just fine.

As he spoke he had already started to motion towards the game shelf.

Adrian waved a hand dismissively. "Oh you don't need to worry about me. There was nothing wrong with the food it was simply a very urgent call of nature." Not the usual action behind the term but technically a hard on was one as well. "Not to be disgusting but I perhaps should have taken a bit of time in there when I woke up but I was too eager to see these 'movies." He moved over to the couch and leaned over the back, watching Paris curiously and thankful that he was too spent to run into another problem for a little while at least. He was fairly sure now that imagining Paris while taking care of his problem may have been a bad idea. He couldn't help thinking about it now that he had let his mind loose.

"So how do I go about these, video games?"

At first he had though of taking a virtual reality game, but moving the couch was too troublesome, and maybe that wasn't the best thing to start out with for someone whom hadn't played such games before. Instead he decided to take one of the older games, which had to be watched on the TV screen and played with the controls. Most people saw it as awfully old fashioned now a days.

"Depends on the game." He said as he took out a game that might be a good start. Battle arena XY. Simple game, could easily be beaten just by clicking at random buttons. He put in the game in a device just beside the DVD player and took forth two wireless controls. He gave the second one to Adrian. "This game is pretty easy. All you have to do is use different attacks to defeat the opponent. For example, x hits, y jumps, b kicks. If we put it on easy mode then you'll have enough time to test the different combinations you can do with the attacks without getting killed immediately." Well, that was as long as Paris didn't decide to kill him. Of course he wouldn't, but it would be fairly easy if he wanted too.

Adrian took the controller warily, lifting it up so he could examine the different buttons. He immediately noticed they were marked by letters and mentally made notes as Paris explained to him what they did. There were still several other buttons that got no mention as of yet and he could only assume they weren't important for the moment. Or that Paris was looking to get an easy kill but that didn't seem much like the man.

"Alright." He move around the couch and sat down, mentally repeating what each button did. He intended to make a better showing with this than he did with his first time on the computer. It seemed simple enough, surely he would have something of a chance after not too long. As they game started and they set up their characters he found himself already fascinated. The movie had been interesting but these video games were a lot like magic. It was confined to the screen of course but the control you had was very similar. "Fascinating…" He murmured without realizing it, actually having a lot of fun already even though he was not doing too well so far.

Without even realizing it, Paris had been constantly looking back towards Adrian. The face the man did was kind of cute. He almost died once because he were too distracted by his friend. Somehow he were able to save himself though. Once he figured that Adrian had gotten used to the first three buttons he started to introducing some more. "You see those bubble like things that falls off the enemy once you hit them? Pick them up by walking over them and once the bar beneath your health bar is completely filled you can click on the right button on the bottom of your controller, then it will unleash a special attack. The attack is different for every character." He explained as his character did a jump into the air and used the special attack on one of the computer characters, which then immediately lost one of it's life. Easy mode was far too easy even when he felt slightly distracted for some weird reason.

"And there will come up extra lives, shields and other stuff that you can take to save yourself. But don't take the bombs, it's very hard to not get hit by them once they start falling." He then warned.

Adrian didn't even notice Paris's fascination with him. He was entirely focused on getting good enough at this game to win at least once. He didn't even look over once Paris was talking, fiercely focused on beating a computer opponent to a pulp. "Mmhmmm." He did make a point to pick up the bubbles afterwards and blinked as his own character unleashed a flurry of blows, knocking out another computer character with ease. He focused on the other characters, suddenly going crazy bashing everything while he had been relatively cautious before.

Once he felt confident enough in his skills a decidedly malicious grin sneaked on to his face and under the guise of going for another computer character he attempted to execute a sneak attack on Paris and beat him out before he had a chance to do anything.

Paris continued to believe that Adrian was experimenting with his character, and would continue to beat up the computer for some time before he even started to think about attacking Paris. But oh so wrong he was. If he hadn't taken his eyes off the screen in that very moment, then he would probably have noticed just in time. But that distracting face and evil mind completely took him by surprise.

"Hey!" Paris shouted out surprised and disappointed as his character lost its first life. He couldn't even say that it was unfair as Adrian was the newbie while he was the experienced one. And on top of that he had taken his eyes of the screen far too many times. "You are so dead." Paris grinned as his head was completely in the game. His character resurrected with one less life than before. He had been playing nice up until then, not going for too many bubbles, and pretending not to see the extra lives or power ups, and only attacking the computers. The nice guy was gone, and he started to play while knowing that everyone were enemies, even Adrian's character.

Adrian laughed in triumph and took a moment to slap the other prince on his shoulder before resuming his attack. He was enjoying himself immensely now that he felt somewhat competent and the challenge of beating Paris now that he was on to him was just his kind of thing. Adrian was hyper-competitive and he made no attempt to try and hide it. He reached the point where he was confident smashing up the computer's and felt at least somewhat able to take Paris on. "We should upgrade the difficulty." He suddenly announced before putting an arm around Paris's shoulders and whispering in his ear. "Unless you want to play something else because you're afraid."

Paris was usually not a very competitive person, but in that instance he really didn't want to loose to a beginner. If he had been with anyone else he would probably not have acted like that. The other prince laid his arm around Paris's shoulders and whispered in his ear. The closeness felt slightly embarrassing, though not in an uncomfortable way. He ignored the heat in his face as he turned his head to face Adrian, the two men were so close they could practically feel each other's breath.

"I have played these games during my entire childhood, the only thing that's frightening me is that you might have to crawl back to your room after being brutally defeated by me." He smirked and turned to face the TV screen again. The difficulty level was fast changed from the easiest, to the hardest. Even Paris had a hard time with the hardest mode, so there was no way Adrian would be able to defeat him.
