Vocabulary Challenge
Brought to you by: October Knight and Fluffy; Partners in Crime

[bg=#006633]This challenge is to help strengthen your vocabulary. You'll learn new words and how to use them in roleplay posts, stories, poems, etc!

Instructions:
1. Aim for a minimum of 1-3 paragraphs. If you'd like to write more than that, then go for it!
2. Make sure you use each word in your post. Be as creative as you'd like.
3. Style the writing like you would for a story. It can be describing a setting, or written from the perspective of a character. Whatever you feel would work the best.
4. Have fun with this, of course!

Leaves scurried quietly in the light breeze that pull them to and fro to its whim, however capricious that it may be. They grumbled and cursed, exchanging words with the wind as they scratched along the asphalt and concrete. Only upon being stepped on, do they scream loudly at the perpetrator-- A tall figure donned in a black overcoat and a bolar hat. He would bow, and greet everyone that went past him, tipping the bolar hat courteously. Once the people stopped, he'd tuck his hand into his overcoat and pullout a rolled piece of fabric, full of jewels and watches of the finest sort.

Thinking it was too good to be true, the potential customers walked away muttering to their friends that they don't trust the huckster's wares, that it was just a gamble not paying for.

Not wanting to give up, the man walked around some more, going deeper and deeper into the city, farther from residential areas where people were far too wary. An easy sell for the day, he thought. So he walked, listening to the wind conversing with the trees, the falling leaves carried away farther and farther away from where they once were. There was a sense of weariness and apathy emitting from the man as the dolor he carried with him throughout his life slowly became heavier and heavier. But no matter... to him and others, it was nothign to give any deign to.

As he plodded along to the city, trying to sell his tinkets and wares, the dolar grew increasingly larger until it became a mass fit of hysteria inside his mind. His brain ached with pain, throbbing and sending disturbed thoughts to him as he tried to do his business. It was not until he imagined himself chased by a hussar, that he ran and he ran. He dropped all his goods and he just ran. He would look back and there it'd be, gaining speed, carrying what looked to be a gun propped against his shoulder. The man looked back so much he didn't realize what he was doing and fell into a pithole full of freshly poured cement.

He laughed hysterically to himself, as the man who was chasing him, was just a mounted policeman who simply wanted to ask a question.

Fanny had always been what her mother affectionately termed a pack rat. She seemed to have the knack for finding and always keeping little odds and ends and sometimes big odds and ends. Now that she was an adult, her love of finding things was a thriving business. She'd called her little odds and ends shop, Hucksters, as a joke but people seemed to think it was her name.

Today she was placing one of her larger finds in the large front display window. She'd been captivated by the stature of the Hussar proudly rising his seated, sword blazoned peering into the face of the enemy no doubt. It was large and heavy, but her dad and brother had agreed to place it for her. Once if was in the window and smiled at them both and got a hug from her father, "have a good day you guys! thanks!"

They waved as they went out the front and she dusted off the statue. Would someone besides herself deign the Hussar? Time would tell, until then she would be happy to have his company while she dealt with capricious teens and the dolor of ones who tended to buy on impulse and come back the next day to return whatever item they purchased. Flipping open her laptop she began scouring for the next great find. It was her life, and she loved it.
