With ferrets though, do you keep them in a cage and take them out when you like or do you let them go free in the home? They seem too tiny to let them go free.
Feasible you could leave them out and about, but considering their ability to slink into small places while you aren't looking it's better to keep them in a cage when you're not able to supervise them,
like this one. The price of these cages ranges anywhere between 100-600 dollars depending on the number of ferrets you own (eg: size of cage) and the location from which you purchase it. When you're able to supervise them (which should be daily), you let them out of the cage for at least four hours. You don't have to
constantly watch them, but like any pet, you should be aware of what they're doing and know where they are. Which shouldn't be too hard considering they're social animals and will be seeking your attention often.
Regardless, as I've said to others, as much as I adore ferrets, they're not for everyone and tend to actually be a fairly high maintenance animal. They'll reward you with love and excitement, but they are kleptomaniacs with notoriously awful immune systems. Also keep in mind that they are classified as an
exotic pet, meaning that if you need to take them to a vet, you'll need to find a specialist, and specialists tend to be even more expensive than vets already are.
That being said, ferrets tend to be comfy in a cage when sleeping. They'll either ball up together (if you have multiple ferrets) or will find a blanket or hammock to curl up in. Here's one that
got tired and went to his hammock after playing with me.
