Usually it's about roleplays and characters and scenes I am daydreaming up and intend to write.'

But sometimes the mind wanders to weird spaces. =_=

Last night I had the thought that thin skin on your skull is actually pretty thin. So if you got a bad gash or cut, you could just sort of peel off your scalp and face like you were a banana to expose your skeleton 🤔

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT BEFORE BED? 8D

Okay, no joke, I think about the exact same thing right before I fall asleep.
I lay there in bed and, while I'm slowly winding down, drifting off, I let my imagination just sort of.... go on a journey. Imagining characters, scenarios that may or may not be something worth writing out later on.
I really LOVE just seeing where my imagination will wander in a half sleeping state.

Other good daydreaming places I have are: The shower and very long car rides (obviously ones where I'm not driving lol)

Same here, honestly. When I was younger, I would 'daydream' about fantastical versions of myself in various scenarios.
I don't remember the exact age when I began roleplaying ( well over a decade a go), but that "me" became my different characters. My mind thinking of all the 'what coulds' and 'what ifs". When I stepped away from Iwaku from a few years, I still thought of some of my favorite characters in the same way, despite not having used any of them for almost three years. Now, my current characters, respective interactions, and impending plots take center stage. Cue, gushing with a writing partner or two on Discord about said plots and characters during the day. It plays a massive role in how excited I am to see said plots come to fruition through the actual writing process.

i think about characters and potential scenes and whats coming up next in the rp and what i wanna right normally when i try to sleep- it makes it really hard to shut off my brain if i do. but sometimes!! i'll have such a busy day that when i lay down, i genuinely do not remember thinking about anything before i pass out

A lot of things. Similar to other answers, characters, scenes. I'm also thinking about what I have to do the following day; work, errands, etc. Food too lol.

Literally just situations between the main two ships my friend and I have with our characters. Sometimes I have new AU's pop up during this time?? Like a blender with random thoughts for those little guys

Damn. I'm about to feel like a work-a-holic here but I think about work and what I have to do the next day. Bad for a good night's sleep, because sometimes I get stuck in those 'oh shit' moments, but I also brainstormed my best strategies and drafted the best proposals in bed. Sometimes my to-do doesn't let me go and keeps on returning like an intrusive thought as it forces me out of bed to work.

The next thing I drift off to are story ideas, I try to visualise how characters react and etc... Sometimes the idea starts living its own life and I have to crawl out of bed to write them out, or type them out on my phone until I fall asleep again.

If my head is still buzzing I end up reading until I fall asleep.

Yes, daydreaming during long car rides are the best, especially with some music in the background. Before bed or even when I can't sleep is also fun to daydream. That is if my anxiety isn't taking over though. But otherwise it's daydreaming about characters, who to ship them with, making mental notes on doing some research if the characters are a type I haven't played yet, or worldbuilding. SO MUCH WORLDBUILDING!

So then of course I have to get back up and write down some notes because I will forget everything the next day. :<

I like to think about my characters sleeping. I have no idea why but it soothes me and lets me sleep. And i think about what i wanna do with characters next.

Ahh for me, I too dream about characters, roleplays, and scenes before sleep. Or on those regular nights I am reading a book, manhwa, or fanfictions before bed I am definitely thinking about that or my characters and written ships in an AU version of the media I consumed.
